    The most magical day!

My time at the Embassy was amazing. Elena who was our coordinator was so attentive leading up to and on the day and went above and beyond to make sure we felt special. They put us in the presidential suite for the weekend and it was incredible. We also had an issue with our cake order being canceled the day before our wedding. (Not through the Embassy) We ended up having to run to Whole Foods to create a make shift tiered cake. We had no decorations or anything. I gave it to the banquet manager and they assembled it and even added flowers and ribbons with my wedding colors to it to make it look pretty. I just can’t say enough good things about the staff here. The food was amazing, the banquet team were so professional and kind, our bartender was a hit and the front desk staff were so incredibly kind. We initially chose the embassy because it was within our small price range but it did not feel cheap. The food and drinks were wonderful. If anything, I would say that the actual space is just a basic conference room but honestly we dimmed the lights, our DJ brought up lights and the drinks were flowing so no one even noticed or cared. Our wedding day was by far one of the most favorite days of my life and a huge part of that was due to the amazing service at the Embassy. If you are looking for a more affordable downtown Chicago wedding I highly recommend them. Thank you so much for allowing us to have such a special day.

We absolutely loved how our Wedding turned out at the Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown. It is located in River North at the corner of State and Ohio, so the location was perfect for our out of town guests. The coordinator, Tania, is easy to get a hold of and couldn't be a nicer person. We loved how everything turned out and we highly recommend this hotel for your wedding reception.

I would HIGHLY recommend the Embassy Suites Downtown for any wedding reception! It was AMAZING! Thelma, the wedding coordinator, was always on top of things and she was so thoughtful taking care of everything I needed. On the day of the wedding she called my bridesmaid just to tell her to tell me everything was taken care of and fine! I am a very picky person and had a lot of requests, which I clearly communicated to her, and she took care of every single one. The day of the wedding when Thelma called and said everything was fine she made feel so much calmer! So, the last review on here I honestly don't know what she is talking about. Maybe, Thelma had learned from that experience, I don't know BUT the one thing I DO know is that she dealt with me so well and made sure everything went so smoothly! I also have to say the banquet manager, Eric, was great and all the servers knew what they were doing and it was nothing short of first class! Angel, the chef, prepared AMAZING food! Everyone thought the food was so tasty! Lynn, who I think is in a support role, was amazing too. I communicated several times with her on what I needed and she always got back to me and took care of any concerns.

In the end, I would definitely recommend the Embassy Downtown. Not only did they provide great service and food but also a great location. The hotel is in the heart of the city, close to everything!

We were very happy having our reception at the Embassy Suites. Thelma, their wedding coordinator, is great and very helpful and responsive. They only have one ballroom, therefore one wedding a weekend, so you get their full attention. When we selected the venue, I was a little uncomfortable with the size of the ballroom - it's on the small side, and is long and narrow, which made it seem smaller. However, it turned out to be absolutely perfect for our wedding of 100 guests. I think it would be too crowded with more than 130 or so. The food was good, the set-up was great, and it was so convenient for our guests to be able to stay in the same hotel. They were very accomodating, and a great, great value - we were looking at all downtown hotels as possibilities and the Embassy was much more affordable than any of the others we looked at. And I don't feel like what we got was any less. We had a great experience.

I chose this place because I know the chef at the Embassy on the Lakefront, but due to the size of my wedding he recommended this one. Overall I was pleased. The food was AWESOME, Angel was a great chef!! He was very flexible in the tasting and offered more selections than what was included in the package. I am still craving the apps!! The hotel staff/security was great too. All of my guests were pleased with their service. On top of the 22% mandatory gratuity, my dad tipped them more....and my dad tips NO ONE!! We had one party crasher and security escorted him out with NO scene what-so-ever. The only down side was my service with the wedding coordinator, Thelma & her assistant (I forgot her name). Everytime I asked the asst a question she couldn't answer without speaking to Thelma first, she was useless to me. Thelma was very nice and courteous, but she had a hard time remembering what she told me. So in the end I had to babysit her a bit with my "special" requests. One such being I had a few handicap people at my wedding and needed special seating, which she said she could provide, but the day of the wedding...oops she forgot. Luckily I talked to the hotel front desk staff and they quickly fixed this. I would recommend this place to anyone, just make sure you are not a Bridezilla and you will be fine. If you are extremely picky, don't waste your time.
