Fantastic shop! Amazing selection!

I am so glad I found Ellie's! I'm not sure who I had been communicating with via email, because the staff all use the same address, but they were so friendly and helpful! I was able to bring my mom and friend with me to try on dresses, which made it so fun and special! I worked with Sarah, who was fantastic! I DID say YES to the dress, even though it was not the one I had originally gone in to see! I ended up picking a dress off of a mannequin, which just happens to be being discontinued, and that was the one that won me over! Sarah helped me try on 9 or 10 dresses, all of them beautiful, and was so pleasant to talk to. I'm so grateful that Ellie's had the dress I had originally wanted, but also had the dress I ended up falling in love with, because I know I would not have found this dress anywhere else! Highly recommend this shop if you're in the NoVA area!!

Helped me find my dress!

I bought my dress at their sample sale. I'd been to one appointment earlier that day so I['d gotten a sense of some things I liked and didn't but didn't have a vision of my "perfect" dress. Isabelle listened to my likes and dislikes and used that to pull a couple of options. I was skeptical of her first pick on the hanger, it was pretty but something I wouldn't have given a second look to on my own but I put it on and it was "the dress." She'd totally nailed my style and the vibe of my venue and wedding! I'd never have found it without her great service!

The sample sale was great, I think my dress was 50% off and unlike other stores I went to, Ellie's takes excellent care of their samples so I felt like I got a great deal.

Saying Yes to the Dress Made Easy!

I had the absolute best time finding my perfect wedding dress! Right from the start, I felt listened to and fully supported. I was encouraged to try on multiple dress types and was so thankful I got that opportunity to really nail down the perfect style and look for me. I went in with very few ideas and left with what I feel (and my mother agrees) is the PERFECT dress and veil.

Ellie's bridal was very accommodating to my group, allowing my close friend to bring her newborn and toddler so she could be there to support me.

Overall, I had an amazing time and am so happy with my experience!

The best Dress Boutique!

From the moment I walked into Ellie's I had the best experience! Chelsea was so kind, patient, and helpful. I loved working with her throughout my wedding planning. She was so kind to me during my bridal appointment and she was super responsive during the alterations phase. I definitely recommend Ellie's, more specifically Chelsea! I made a last minute appointment at Ellie’s and said yes to the dress so quickly. Chelsea was amazing throughout this whole process. I was able to find my dress and alterations went super well too. I can’t rave enough about them. I’m glad I found Ellie’s!!

Great experience

I had such a wonderful experience with Ellie's Bridal. They were punctual, very friendly, had an amazing variety of styles, and really listened to what I wanted. I never felt rushed or pressured into a decision, and every employee was helpful and kind. I wanted an overskirt as well which they had plenty of to choose from, and they helped me find a beautiful veil that perfectly matches my dress (plus a discount for buying the veil with the dress). Amazing experience that I would highly recommend to any bride. For reference I also went to Grace Loves Lace, David's Bridal and Global Bridal.

Dress below isn't what I picked but it almost made me want a second dress.

Fairytale Wedding Dress

I got my dress at Ellie's Bridal Boutique in October 2022 for my November 2023 wedding, and I couldn't be happier with the service they provided! I originally picked this boutique because they had a lot of styles I was interested in and they could accommodate my entire group for dress shopping (my mom & grandma, my husband's mom & grandma, and my two aunts), and I'm so glad I found them. From the start, I felt welcomed and supported. I didn't have a super clear vision for what I wanted, so I probably tried on about 15 dresses. Skyy, my attendant, was so patient, positive, and didn't try to push me into anything, which I really appreciated - I had another appointment at a different salon later that day, but I did end up going back to Ellie's the next morning to commit to my dress! She was considerate of our budget, so I only tried on dresses that we were going to be able to purchase, and she also helped me select a matching veil.

Alterations were also a breeze. I had three fittings - the initial fitting, an updated fitting at which I addressed any specific details, and the final fitting - all of which were easy to schedule and thorough but efficient. I felt that my comments about dress fit, how to make the bustle, etc. were always listened to, and they didn't try to add anything unnecessary to increase the cost of these services.

Finding a wedding dress was always something I dreamed about, and I truly felt like a princess in my exquisite gown. If you're looking for a professional but personable experience with your wedding dress, definitely visit Ellie's Bridal Boutique!

Highly Recommend Ellie's Bridal Boutique

The Ellie’s Bridal team went above and beyond for me! I made the mistake of purchasing my dress at another bridal shop, mainly because while Ellie’s carried the designer, they did not carry the specific gown I ended up buying. I had a horrible experience at the other shop and was panicked as my wedding was approaching and my dress still didn’t fit after multiple alterations.

I called Ellie’s to see if they could re-alter the dress and Chelsea went out of her way to make everything right. The team went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my dress and the way it fitted.

I wish I would have purchased my dress at Ellie’s from the beginning, but I’m glad I was able to work with them the last several weeks leading up to my wedding. I really enjoyed every visit to the shop and the interactions I had with the team, specifically Skyy and Chelsea. They made the experience fun and stress-free which is how it should be leading up to your wedding day. I’m so grateful for Ellie’s because my dress fit beautifully on my wedding day thanks to their expertise!

Beautiful Wedding Gown

I had a great experience finding my wedding gown at Ellie’s Bridal! During the appointment, Jane (no longer working at the store, unfortunately) was so kind and patient with me throughout the process, and didn’t pressure me at all. The store had lots of great options, and Jane helped me navigate through them and hone in on my gown. I only went to one other store after my appointment just to see other options, but immediately returned the same day to officially order my gown from Ellie’s. I also had a lot of alterations made to the gown, and Ellie’s accommodated four fittings to make it just right. I felt beautiful on the day of the wedding!

A great experience customizing my dress!

The Ellie’s bridal team made me feel beautiful on the day of my wedding reception! I originally bought my dress in 2019, but our reception was delayed until Summer 2022 due to COVID. They were so helpful during a stressful time and made sure that I had my dress and knew how to keep it safe during that time. A huge shout out to Chelsea, the Alterations Manager, who helped my vision for my dress come to life! She reconstructed the neckline so that it would be more comfortable and fit the look I was going for. She did such an amazing job that it looked like it was always meant to be that way!

Ellie's is the best

I went to another dress shop before this where I was called 'girlfriend' for like 3 hours and the salesperson did not focus on what I wanted. Upon entering Ellie's I noticed they had a HUGE selection and that it's everything you could visually imagine - cute chairs, beautiful rooms, etc.

I ended up with a sample sale dress for just $999, but I would've been more than happy to pay for a regular price dress because the lady I worked with was sooo helpful. I would recommend them a million times over for ANY bride.

Professional and Not Pushy

I highly recommend Ellie’s Bridal Boutique. The staff are professional, knowledgeable and tentative. One thing that I appreciated the most (which is not what I experienced at other establishments) was how the staff let me pick out dresses to try on on my own with my mother. This made the experience more relaxed and I didnt feel pressured during my appointment. The seamstress was also very talented and easy to work with. Thanks for helping me find the perfect dress for my wedding and tailoring it beautifully to me!

Finding my dress at Ellie's Bridal was such a great experience. I loved that we were able to search through the racks of dresses to pull out ones to try on since a lot of places don't allow you to do that. During the appointment, Jane was so fun to work with and we never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision quickly. The store has so many options so it was so easy to find my dream dress here! Ellie's alterations team saved my dream dress!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Ellie's! I did a virtual consultation with Skyy in Fall 2020, then I picked up a handful of dresses to try-on at home. I was looking for something very specific and Skyy was fantastic. She even called a designer to get something I had seen online on loan, so I could try it on. While I ultimately found my perfect dress at another boutique, Ellie's SAVED IT. When my dress arrived, the neckline wasn't anything like what the sample had been. After some back-and-forth with the boutique I purchased it from and the designer, the only option was to alter the neckline. I was so nervous because the neckline is really what made me fall in love with the dress. I had such a great experience working with Skyy that I asked her if Ellie's would take on the alterations. They did, and it was perfect! (See before and after photos below.) I can't thank Ellie's enough for being so friendly, flexible, and professional to help make my wedding day perfect.

The Best Salon in Alexandria!

I purchased a beautiful Mikaella gown from Ellie's in February 2020. The consultant I worked with, Jane, made me feel extremely comfortable and listened to during the process. I actually made a few appointments at Ellie's because I was indecisive about a dress. Jane suggested that we take the top of one dress and the bottom of another to create something totally custom. I originally didn't think option that would be in my price range, but to my surprise it was! I really appreciated that Jane took the time to call and check that my specific custom gown would be possible. I had to reschedule my wedding reception due to covid, Ellie's was extremely helpful. While I held on the my dress after it came in, Ellie's never made me feel like I was going to get lost in the shuffle. I worked with Chelsea during my fittings and she was very knowledgable and helpful. I highly recommend visiting Ellie's when looking for a gown for your big day.

Amazing experience!

Ellie's was a great experience!!! It was the 5th ( and final ) boutique I went to and I immediately felt right at home. My stylist Chelsea made me super comfortable and patiently answered all my questions/concerns. Beautiful dresses and kind employees

I started my adventure with Ellie's in June of 2019, when I bought my wedding dress for my wedding that was supposed to have been in June of 2020. Through two reschedules, a pregnancy, and more, Ellie's had my back. From my first interaction with them, I knew I had chosen correctly. Everyone who works there is so fun and kind, and immediately puts you at ease. The girl who helped me pick my wedding dress gave me some options, and based on my reactions to them, was able to select my dream dress. The first time I went in for alterations, I was 16 weeks pregnant and very nervous about having a wedding 2 months postpartum, but my seamstress immediately went into problem-solving mode and said that if necessary, she would rush my alterations. COVID happened and I didn't end up needing that, but when it did come time for my wedding dress alterations, the girl who did them was so sweet and personable! My dress came out beautiful and I can't wait to savor it for many years!

Great Bridal Boutique

I got engaged right before COVID hit, so I was dress shopping while everything was completely shut down. I picked Ellie's Bridal because they did curbside dress trials - you could zoom/skype an associate and talk about what you wanted, they went back and pulled some dresses that they thought would fit your style, and then you picked 3 to pick up and try on at home - you literally picked them up from the store (for a small fee), then brought them home and zoomed with the associate while you tried on and discussed what you liked and didn't like about the dresses, I believe you had a week to try them on and return. I went through 3 appointments trying on dresses, and aside from having to zip up the dresses and use the fitting clamps myself, the process was so incredibly easy. This amazing adaptation to COVID alone is why I would recommend Ellie's to anyone!

Once I actually had my dress, making the alterations appointments were very easy as well. I ended up needing it altered several times because I kept wearing my dress for other things before the actual wedding, and they were really accommodating of my unusual requests. Once it (finally) came time for the actual wedding, they did a PHENOMENAL job altering the dress to my exact size, and they cut off the train without even questioning my request! The dress came out perfectly, and they were able to get some mud stains out of the bottom of the dress as well on multiple occasions. I would highly recommend Ellie's to anyone in the Northern VA area - they are absolutely the best to work with.

The Consultants Are Amazing!!

We came to Ellie's Bridal Boutique right after going to David's Bridal and the experience could not have been more different! The consultant at David's was helping two brides at once and was very distracted, the store was full of people and very overwhelming, and I had to share the mirror outside my dressing room with another bride. At Ellie's Bridal Boutique, my bridesmaids and I got our own little room where they could sit and I had my own pedestal area and huge mirror. And my consultant was amazing! After talking with me and looking at a few dresses, she knew exactly what I wanted and pulled some additional dresses that were beautiful! Within 30 minutes I already had two real contenders for "the dress"! Trying on dresses at Ellie's was really fun and I'm so glad I was able to find my dress here! Take it from me and skip David's Bridal and just come here first.

Amazing alterations team

You get to browse!

Ellie's Bridal was a great shop to bring guests and try on dresses. The only shop we went to that let the bride-to-be and guests browse the dresses and select our own to try on. Consultant, Meghan, was great, patient, and very encouraging. Store setup was great with enough space to feel like a private event, couldn't hear the other group on the other side of the store. Plenty of mirrors, large elevated stage, and enough seating for guests. Went back for a 2nd visit, and although a different consultant, they already had my favorites in the dressing room and picked right up where we left off. Had great selection and multiple sizes to allow for a realistic view of dresses. When we selected a dress they price-match another store, no questions asked. Similarly priced alterations quote, and looking forward to getting my dress fitted in 5 months!

Excellent!

Purchased my dress here yesterday and was helped by Meghan. I was accompanied by my BF, sister, MIL, and mom. This boutique has an INCREDIBLE selection of absolutely stunning, quality dresses! My dress is the Cambria by Justin Alexander and I would have paid double for what it cost me. The dress is GORGEOUS and the pricing is incredible. Meghan was able to narrow down my style and picked all of the dresses that ended up being my favorites (yes there were that many) and got me to peg it down to THE ONE! I did not think that this was going to happen as this had been my 4th time (2nd time at Ellie’s) wedding dress shopping. I also purchased a Bel Aire cathedral veil and will purchase jewelry at my first or second fitting.

Lovely Experience!

Jane Lee was incredible to me (the bride-to-be) and my mom and sister as part of my #bridetribe. She welcomed us with open arms and asked us off the bat what my budget was.

She was transparent about what the boutique offered and gave us an opportunity to pick dresses on our own. Then she'd circle back, ask how we were doing, and then chose some dresses she also thought I'd like based on our previous conversation.

Each time I got into the dressing room, Jane Lee graciously offered to finish zipping me up and synching the dress well to get a realistic look, feel, and height with the dress on. The fitting room also had a sign with several tips on how to make the most out of the fitting experience.

Jane Lee also explained the design of each dress, how it would look once it was tailored, and also added spaghetti straps, a veil, accessories, and a bouquet for finishing touches which offered a true vision of myself as the bride-to-be. She answered all our questions and offered a helpful perspective. With that, we were able to find the perfect dress for me! There was crying, laughing, some dancing, and celebrating.

In all, Ellie's Bridal Boutique offers 4-inch platform shoes, a 3D mirror, and an intimate experience. Thank you, Jane Lee and Ellie's Bridal Boutique. You made my vision come true. You were so knowledgeable and personable. We couldn't have had a better experience! And the contract made it all so professional and real. Thank you again!

Amazing bridal boutique

I had an amazing experience at Ellie's Bridal and 100% recommend it! This was the first and only shop we went to and I found my dress!! Jane was amazing, kind, and very helpful! She had great recommendations and was very personable!!! The store was very affordable and had a large variety of gowns!

Great options in their sample sale!

I went to Ellie’s to see their dresses in their sample sale. They were able to accommodate me and all of my bridesmaids at my appointment. Ashley was very helpful and helped me to find my dream dress! I can not wait to see my dress on my wedding day. If you are looking for an affordable designer dress, I would definitely recommend you checking out Ellie’s!

Great first time bridal experience

I visited Ellie’s to try on bridal gowns for the first time earlier this week. They had a good selection, and my consultant, Ashley, was a pleasure to work with. She made me feel comfortable and did not at all pressure me to make a purchase. She had several suggestions for other directions I might explore for future appointments, which I really appreciated. All of the dresses in the salon were tagged with the price, which I found extremely helpful. I expect I will visit Ellie’s again as I continue to look for my dress. Thank you!

Found my Dream Dress at Ellie's!

I had an amazing experience at Ellie's Bridal. Ellie's was the second store I visited while dress shopping and it was above and beyond what I expected. The store itself was bright and spacious, which made all the dresses look even more beautiful (the first store only had one window, which was not good). I also liked how the store was organized by designer and that they carried a range of dress sizes. It's really deflating to try on dresses that are way too small, so I appreciated that they had many sizes for all shapes and forms! I actually tried on my dress at the first store I went to and then again at Ellie's but I didn't realize it was the same dress until after I purchased it. Trying on a dress that fits or is close to your size made all the difference.

My consultant, Ashley, was lovely to work with. She was extremely professional and made me feel really comfortable. She was very attentive and listened to my thoughts and feedback and helped me find the dress of my dreams! She did an excellent job of showing me different veil and belt options as well as making sure all the clips and fabric were in place! All of the staff were very supportive and I never felt pressured to try on dresses I didn't like or purchase something immediately. Can't wait to go back for my fittings!

Beautiful selection at a variety of price points

I’d been to multiple bridal boutiques and department stores before going to Ellie’s. My wedding dress was important to me, but I was struggling to find options I liked under $1,500. Many boutiques offered only a few gowns at that price point.

I found so many beautiful dresses in my preferred price range here, and the staff was helpful but never pushy. Ellie’s also offers many different types of dresses from designers I’d never seen before — lots of interesting cuts, styles, and details.

Every single person with whom I interacted — on the phone, during appointments, amidst alterations — was professional and accommodating. Those little interactions and kindnesses made all the difference for me when I was overwhelmed by other aspects of wedding planning. I felt so beautiful and comfortable in my dress, and I have the team at Ellie’s to thank for that.

Found my dream dress!

Ellie's was such a great spot to buy THE dress! They were so accommodating and friendly, and let me come back 3 times in one weekend so I could be absolutely sure of my choice! They also were great for alterations and are now helping me get my dress cleaned and preserved. They have a great selection with styles for everyone!

Wonderful experience

I had the best experience at Ellie's bridal both times I have been! I was the MOH in a wedding last year, and we found her dress at Ellie's bridal and loved it. So when it came time for me to find my own dress, I knew this was the place I wanted to go. The consultant was knowledgeable, patient, and made the experience so easy and enjoyable! Perfect Experience!

Ellie's Bridal was an unexpected surprise! Ashley was so pleasant to work with. I found the most perfect dress that was contrary to what I was looking for. When I returned by myself to find a reception dress, Ashley helped me pick out a second dress that was perfectly altered to add straps. My looks couldn't be more perfect!

Highly Recommend!

This review is for shopping only - I have only shipped my dress, so I can't speak to the alterations yet. But the store and personnel are fantastic!! The store is very clean and bright - scheduling an appointment online was easy and they did a great job of abiding by CDC recommendations from a safety standpoint. I worked exclusively with Ashley (who is amazing), and she did a great job both allowing me / my mom & BM to pick out favorite dresses, while also recommending ones based on my pre-survey. I actually had two appointments because I found, what I thought could be (and was), my dream dress at a different boutique, but really wanted to try all my favorites on at the same location. The shop was extremely helpful, quickly ordered me a sample dress that arrived 1.5 weeks later, and allowed me to come in and try on all my favorites together. It's $65 to order a sample dress, but that then gets applied directly to your bill if you order a dress.

I really can't say enough great things about Ashley, she was fantastic to work with. She helped create an open and comfortable environment, while also answering all my various questions. I ended up having a really hard time narrowing down between my final two, but throughout it all she was extremely professional and supportive!! I had an incredible experience at Ellie's Bridal and would absolutely recommend them to anyone I know!

Gorgeous dresses and Sky is super helpful!

I said yes go my perfect wedding dress at Ellie’s boutique. This store has GORGEOUS dresses (and at all prices) I can’t thank Sky enough for her help and patience during my appointment. I had a very specific budget ($600 max) and she called me the evening before the appointment to confirm I reviewed the sale dresses so that she could have all of the styles I was interested in ready to try on. I ended up buying a dress that she suggested for me based on the styles she saw I was leaning towards. I lost count of how many dresses I tried on and didn’t feel one bit rushed. I plan to go back for a new dress at Ellie’s when I celebrate 10 years of marriage!

Exceeded my expectations!

Ellie's Bridal Boutique was amazing! Beautiful space, wonderful service and dresses from so many designers. I'm new to wedding planning, so I came in knowing nothing anything about dresses. My stylist, Skyy, was the sweetest and she walked me through so many details, told me about things I needed to know for alterations, etc. The dress that I wanted was on a trunk show sale that ended a week before my appointment, but Skyy knew how much I loved the dress and said she'd keep the sale price for my appointment date. I loved that she didn't pressure me into buying a dress during my first visit, and instead encouraged me to come back for a second appointment with my entire bridal party so that everyone could see me in the dress that I said yes to. I had a lot of fun shopping here and hope more brides choose to come here, too!

It was amazing!

Ellie’s bridal was everything and then some! I wanted my bridesmaids there but with COVID, it’s very rare to find a boutique that allows guests. Luckily, they allowed me to bring 3 guests and every other guest was an additional $50, but the money goes towards store credit! So I was able to use this towards my gown and veil! If you’re deciding whether you should check them out, take this as your sign!!! Ashley helped me and I couldn’t have asked for a better consultant. Bonus: the lighting in the boutique allows your bridal team to take good pictures! Thank you Ellie’s for making this once in a lifetime shopping experience flawless.

Ask for Jane!

My experience at Ellie's was next level amazing. My interactions started with a great virtual session with Jane, where she pulled 5-6 dresses for me and got my imagination going so I would look up a lot of the dresses, since I couldn't go in person with COVID-19. When I finally went in person with my mom, I really loved it. She let us browse, wasn't pushy at all, gave her honest opinion, and made sure I was positioned in a way where I would look by best. I've gone to a handful of other stores, and never felt like I was dealing with the real deal until I met Jane. 200% recommend!

A diamond in the rough during pandemic

Super friendly and helpful staff. From the minute I walked in, I felt like these ladies had known me for years! They were finishing my sentences and knew just what I was trying to describe with only a few words because I walked in there with only a vague idea of what I wanted! This boutique is adorable through and through and so are the dresses. They have dresses to accommodate all shapes and sizes and the staff knows their inventory like the back of their hands! I definitely recommend Elle’s Bridal. Alterations are a bit overpriced but then again, anytime you add the word wedding in front of anything you get uncharged...smh, the industry as a whole is corrupt so don’t hold that against them, you will have a wonderful customized experience!

Dori was exceptionally amazing!!! She patiently helped me find the dress I was looking for within my budget! I didn't feel pressured at all buying the dress. Jane was super helpful in providing me honest feedback with smiles!

The dress I bought looked gorgeous on me and everyone kept complementing it. I was not happy with my hair & makeup artist but once I put the dress on, it made every other flaw disappear!

Excellent Dress Appointment

I did not end up getting my dress from Ellie's--mostly due to logistics, as I live in Chicago and am getting married in Chicago--but I had a great experience here. Njeri was the most patient, helpful stylist ever and even pushed me (gently!) to try on amazing gowns I never would have considered. The salon is cute, intimate, and fully stocked. I highly recommend you make this part of your dress search.

Extraordinary and laid back boutique!

Ashley was sweet and outgoing from the beginning! She helped me with all the dresses I tried on and gave her honest opinion every time. This wasn't my first time trying on dresses, but it was definitely fun and less nerve wrecking. I was stuck between two dresses (one in another store) and I came back later in the day to retry my favorite dress, just to be sure of my decision and Ashley was great at accommodating me. Ashley made me feel super comfortable during my appointment and was very laid back even when my mom had our Colombian family on video call (So sorry again!). I've called in a couple of times to inquire about headpieces and every person that I've spoken to has been super helpful and friendly. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else and wish this was the first boutique I stepped foot in. I'm officially an Ellie's Bridal bride and I couldn't be happier!

Incredible - exactly what I had hoped for

Dori and the entire team at Ellie's were phenomenal. I had visited four other bridal salons, and they were by far the best. They paid close attention to what I was looking for, they gave me personalized service without having to deal with tons of other brides looking at the same time, and most of all, they never once pressured me. Several other salons felt like I was visiting a used car shop, and I hated the experience. They have a ton of inventory to look through as well. I HIGHLY recommend Ellie's!

Wonderful Experience

This was the second shop I visited and I’m so glad I found them. My first shopping experience wasn’t great but Ellie’s turned it around for me. I’m very busty so I was nervous about sample sizes but Grace was so kind. She told me to pull anything I like and ignore the sizes. She zipped, pulled, and clipped me into any sample size so I could be sure about each dress. I found my dream dress and it was perfect.

Amazing experience! Such a special boutique

From my very first visit (out of 3), my experience at Ellie's was unlike any other boutique I had visited before. For those that are fans of "say yes to the dress" I found this was the closest boutique that treated brides like that show. Jane was seriously so amazing to work with and was so helpful. She was so professional AND makes you feel beautiful. On top of that, they have so many gorgeous dresses to chose from. When I first got engaged and started looking at dresses online I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find a dress I loved within my small budget, but I found it at Ellie's!! Beautiful Dresses, Helpful Associates

I bought my dress at Ellie's over a year before my wedding. I went in with literally no idea what I wanted (no pictures, no preferences) and the associate I worked with patiently assisted me in finding something I liked. She pulled a bunch of dresses that she recommended based on some questions I answered, and did an excellent job narrowing it down to a style that fit me! After finding my dress, they made it easy to schedule appointments for fittings and alterations. The woman that does alterations is so sweet, and did a great job with mine! The pricing is super reasonable, too. I felt so welcomed every time I went into the shop and everyone that works there is so complimentary, kind, and helpful.

Ask for Jane!!!

I first came to Ellie’s when my cousin was looking for her wedding dress last year. Jane was her consultant and she was amazing then! When I got engaged and started my dress shopping, I knew I wanted to visit Ellie’s. We didn’t end up requesting any specific consultant, but when I walked in and found out Jane was my consultant, I was so happy! She remembered us and made us feel welcome. She knew the inventory so well, after she looked at the dresses I selected, she shook her head (as if my picks were bad) and walked away. When she came back, she had a dress in hand that ended up being the dress that I chose! How she knew what I wanted before I even knew what I wanted was amazing. She was not pushy, and shared her honest opinion when asked. I highly recommend!!

I said yes!!!

Ellie’s was able to accept a sane day reservation and I ended up saying yes to the dress!! Ashley helped me try on probably 30 dresses and was an absolute pleasure. Ashley is very professional, caring, and dedicated to making sure that you are comfortable and helping you find THE dress. Towards the end when we started talking about sizing, she could see I was getting frustrated with my family regarding dress size and Ashley was able to assess the situation and take control by quickly suggesting a solution which was able to calm me down and make me feel comfortable.

Beautiful dress!

After trying on too many dresses I finally found mine at Ellie’s! It was gorgeous and everything I imagined :) I bought off the rack so it was about 16 sizes too big, but you would not have known because of their talented seamstresses! During my final fitting it was still a touch too big, but they took it in right then and there so I could walk out with my dress! They easily made the minor adjustments I requested (different buttons and less cleavage) to ensure my comfort and happiness :) Thank you ladies!!

Jane was absolutely amazing!! I showed her a few photos and described what I was looking for and we nailed it! She was also highly knowledgeable and personable. Big fan! Amazing Wedding Boutique!

Ellie’s never disappoints! I was a customer back in 1999 and I was very much satisfied. I came back in 2019 and they are still amazing as they were in the past. Great Selection & Service

5 stars with a caveat on the alterations process so please read: I purchased my dress from Ellie's Bridal Boutique and I would highly recommend it to any bride! I went to 6 stores before I found Ellie's and Ellie's provided by far the best experience. I had an appointment and went on a week day mid-day which definitely helped because no one else was there. The studio is very bright and open and the fitting area really makes you feel like a princess. Grace was very helpful! I explained what I was looking for and she very quickly found "the one!"

I decided to do my alterations downstairs and the "all inclusive" alterations for $600 was definitely the way to go. The alterations team downstairs ultimately did a great job and my dress fit me perfectly on my wedding day so I am a happy customer, but here is the caveat- the alterations team wasn't very communicative during the alterations process. At what was supposed to be my last alteration, something about the top part of the dress still didn't fit right, but I couldn't put my finger on what needed to be altered. Jane from upstairs came down and right away knew how to fix it and made suggestions to the alterations team who did a great job with the alterations. I got my dress back 4 days before my wedding and it fit perfectly, but it was stressful towards the end.

I would highly suggest scheduling your appointments when Jane is going to be at the boutique so she can share her input with the seamstresses.

Highly Recommend

I have nothing but high praise for Ellie's Bridal Boutique. I worked with a few different women there and each one was helpful and professional, but also showed me a genuine interest in not only finding me the perfect dress, but making me feel beautiful and completely bridal and excited after I had chosen one. Thanks to the alteration work done, the dress fit like a glove and the work done to bustle the dress was sturdy, easy to do and absolutely beautiful. In the end, it felt like the dress was made for me. I would recommend anyone to Ellie's if you're interested in high quality dresses, alterations, and people who are excited for you and your big day!

I loved my wedding dress experience at Ellie's! The team were thoughtful, patient, helpful, and experts! They have a very large selection of dresses and happily pulled out those that you thought you were interested in. After purchasing, they let me try my dress on a few times and the altering process was easy and smooth!

I would highly suggest Ellie's to others!

Lovely Boutique!

Everyone at Ellie's made the experience of finding and fitting my wedding dress exciting and simple. The staff are all helpful and genuinely kind, and the seamstress who does alterations in the shop does incredible work. The boutique is charming, comfortable, and has a great selection. Thank you!

Gorgeous Selection

We went to Ellie's for my dress after my sister found her dress a few years back. The selection was beautiful and I happened to shop there while they were having a trunk show, I found my dream dress and on-sale! Alternations were a breeze and very affordable. Great spot and the owner even remembers my sister after all these years, just shows how much she really cares about the brides.

So Happy To Join the Ellie's Family!

Had the BEST experience choosing my dress from Ellie's! Gracie was the most helpful attendant I could have asked for and went out of her way to pull options she thought I'd like. Found my dress on that first visit, but played it cool by waiting a week to officially say yes to the dress! They made me feel so special and acted equally excited as I was when my dress came in, I selected my veil, or I showed up for my alteration appointments. Being a smaller boutique, they really get a chance to know you and part of the special experience of selecting the dress was becoming part of the Ellie's family! I received so many compliments on my dress throughout the night and am utterly thrilled with my choice!

Exceptional Service

My experience at Ellie's was truly exceptional! I had a difficult time finding a dress because I wear a size 14. I had been to several other bridal boutiques and felt really frustrated before going to Ellie's. I was too small for the "plus" size boutiques and too large for most of the other boutiques I went too. Not only did they have several dresses that I was able to try on and get a good idea of how they would fit but the staff there are so kind, friendly and welcoming. When we went into alterations, the seamstress at Ellie's created straps to go with my dress. All alterations turned out absolutely perfect! There is something in the store to fit all budgets!

Amazing service, amazing selection

We came here upon recommendation, and we're so glad we did. I worked with Jane, who was able to bring me dresses that were flattering, steered me away from those that weren't, and made me feel like a princess. She was also there to help us pick accessories (and totally nailed that on the first try!), and stopped in during the alterations process, which was also a breeze. My dress was absolute perfection, and I'm so glad I got to spend time with the team at Ellie's getting it just right.

Perfect Fit

I frantically called Ellie's after having a HORRIBLE experience at another southern Alexandria bridal shop. I explained to Grace on the phone that I had another appointment nearby in a few hours but was curious how slammed they were (it was a Saturday afternoon so I knew it was a long shot for me to get in). They apologized that we were treated so poorly by the other shop (who apologizes for something they have nothing to do with? kind, empathetic people - that's who!), and said it was no problem for me and my two girl friends to come in and they would see me as soon as they could.

Grace was so friendly when we walked in the door. She described the various sections of the store (including the sale rack, which some shops do not point out or encourage you to peruse) and the price range options throughout. She encouraged us to walk around and pick out 5-10 dresses, hang them on a specific hook, and then have a seat until a dressing room and associate became available. No more than 15 minutes had gone by when I had selected the last dress I wanted to try on and Grace had simultaneously found us and escorted me to an open room. I couldn't believe how quickly they were able to squeeze me in!

There I meet Jane. She asked me about my wedding day vision, any details we had secured so far, how my fiancee and I met, and all of the other exciting wedding details you want to talk about! She also asked which dress I wanted to try on first. She was so informative about the fabric, the fit, and color choices. Jane was so good at reading my face and body language to know when I liked or didn't like a dress. She let me spend as much time as I wanted/needed in front of my girl friends and the mirror. Jane and I immediately felt comfortable with each other and she offered her opinion kindly, but NEVER in a pushy or sales kind of way.

That last dress I had grabbed ended up being the one! Jane hadn't even pulled it up to my hips before I started crying because I just somehow knew. It was the perfect dress for me and Jane was the perfect one to help me pick it out. Ellie's was absolutely incredibly kind, loving, and fun. Everything you've dreamed of when shopping for a wedding dress - which can be a very stressful and expensive visit.

Jane took my measurements because the dress was custom cut for me in Spain (I promise it wasn't as expensive as I am making it sound!!!). Which is another reason you should visit their shop. When it arrived, I was promptly called to schedule my fittings, which included a surprise fitting where they opened up the store an hour early for me because my mom made a surprise visit across the country. Of course, I cried again - I could not believe how generous and accommodating they were. The tailoring shop downstairs is incredibly talented! At my request, they were able to add bra strap clips because I did not want to sew in cups, and they were able to edit my mom's veil by removing its headpiece and attaching the veil to a comb. Each fitting I felt they truly listened to my concerns and thoughts, and actually delivered on them. My dress was absolutely impeccable and I am so incredibly thankful to Jane and Ellie's Bridal Boutique!!

Great Experience

Ellie's was a great experience for me from start to finish. They allowed me to bring one extra person to my first appointment so I could have both of my nieces join us. Diana was my consultant and she helped us pick out a great variety of dresses including the perfect dress! It was nice that they allowed us to walk around the store and look at dresses so everyone could select a favorite for me to try on.
I also did my alterations through Ellie's and was so pleased with the service and the results. They give you three alteration sessions. I only needed two but came back for the third the month of my wedding just in case. The alterations women are so caring and thoughtful and the front desk staff were always polite and helpful when I came in. I appreciated their service and attention to detail and that it felt like the truly cared about my big day! In the end, I had the perfect wedding dress!

The shop is great, but the alterations were stressful

Everyone at Ellie's is incredibly friendly and professional-- I found the perfect dress and it wasn't outrageously priced. They lost a star for the alteration experience. We were told at the beginning that we would need two, possibly three fittings. We went ahead and scheduled them for several months in advance because they are very busy there. I ended up needing to go back four times because, especially between the 2nd and 3rd fittings, almost nothing had been done. Simple things like my veil, which they told us was a very easy task that they complete in very little time, were not done until 7 days before my wedding day. Scheduling the later fittings was very tricky because they were all booked up except in the middle of a workday (I don't work or live near the shop). It all worked out, and my dress fit beautifully, but it was very stressful when it wasn't yet done the week before my wedding.

Ellie's Bridal Boutique was the first wedding dress shop I went to. I found a dress I LOVED when I was there... but I wanted to keep looking. So I went to 4 more stores. I kept coming back to Ellie's and eventually got my dress from there! They had a wonderful selection and were very patient with me. I also did my alterations through Ellie's and was very pleased with the outcome; my dress fit perfectly! I ended up buying my bridal accessories from Ellie's as well, including my veil, belt, and hair pins. Tami was AMAZING throughout the process. Grace and Jane also helped and were just as fabulous. One of my favorite things about Ellie's was the location. It is right in downtown Alexandria, so it was fun to grab a meal afterward and explore the cute downtown shops. I will certainly be recommending Ellie's to all my friends!

My experience with Ellie's was amazing - Grace at Ellie's helped me pick out my dream dress, and was so attentive through the entire experience. Grace is so relaxed and calm, it made me feel calm too when I could have been nervous and jittery. She is an excellent wedding dress consultant - I cannot give her a more glowing recommendation. Every single person I interacted with at Ellie's was so accommodating and kind and listened to our concerns patiently. We loved our experience so much! 10 out of 10.

Had a great experience getting my wedding dress here. Highly recommend making an appointment ahead of time since it does get crowded. They were very helpful and I had no issues ordering my dress, getting it altered and picked up. Also loved the dress!

I am so happy that I found Ellie's Bridal Boutique. The selection is the best in the area. The staff is amazing. Jane has been a life saver. I have gained weight pre-wedding due to a thyroid condition. I have come in MANY times because I have been so indecisive due to my weight fluctuating. Jane has been so patient. Also, she has a very keen eye for fashion. She will be able to pick out dresses that are wonderful for your body. I will always remember Jane and Ellie's being a highlight of my engagement. Bought the most beautiful Eddy K gown from here! By the time I got to Ellie's, I knew I wanted to wear a huge ballgown. The sales associates helped me find and try on every ballgown in the store until I found the perfect one-- and I was given a reasonable price! My dress order arrived on time as well. I bought my dress a size larger so I could have it tailored to fit me-- the alterations team was fantastic! My dress fit me like a glove, and these were difficult alterations to do due to the heavily beaded bodice and layer upon layer of ballgown skirt to hem. Thank you Ellie's Bridal Boutique for helping me find and alter my dream dress!

I loved my experience with Ellie's from beginning to end! I thought I had already picked my dress from another store, but decided to stop in here with my parents just to try on a few more dresses for good measure. Diana was helping me and I told her what I wanted, my budget, and she grabbed about 5 or so dresses that fit that mold. I absolutely loved them all and ended up changing my mind from the original dress to this one. She even paired it with a lovely belt (I did not buy) but gave me the idea to add a belt to take up the glam another notch. I ordered my dress via phone after thinking on it for 24 hours and that was smooth. The dress came in a month earlier than promised and the fitting process was very nice as well. I believe the seamstresses name was Lisa, as well, and she was so nice, helpful, and sweet! She provided alteration suggestions because I had no idea what to do and also told me if my suggestions wouldn't work the way I thought they would, and did a fantastic job. Bottom line, I had a wonderful experience with every person I encountered, felt like I got personalized attention, and loved my dress! Thanks so much :)

I received excellent service when I went to Ellie's. It was my second time trying on dresses. I tried on several dresses, and when I found the one, I knew! The team at Ellie's contacted my dress designer to adjust the neckline of my dress to make all of my dress dreams come true! The dress was amazing!! They also did perfect alterations and adjustments, made pick-up a breeze and gave info for cleaning and preservation. I highly recommend going to Ellie's to try on and choose your wedding dress!

I went to Ellie's to shop for my wedding dress about a year before my wedding. I had a general idea of what I did and didn't like but nothing specific. My ocnsultant was Tim and I am beyond grateful for him. The first couple dresses I tried were gorgeous but just not for my body type. Eventually Tim pulled a dress for me to try on and it was perfect. It fit my body type perfectly and was everything I was looking for in a dress! I am so happy that they were able to help me find the perfect dress for my weddind day. All my guest could not get over how detailed and elegant the dress was and it fit the style of our day perfectly!

My daughter and I visited three bridal salons in DC and Virginia and she tried on 25+ different gowns 15 months before her May 2017 wedding. We had the best experience overall at Ellie's Bridal Boutique On N. Washington Street in Old Town Alexandria, VA. Tim was our consultant on our first and second trip back to Ellie's. Tim was well versed on bridal gowns having worked in the industry for many years before coming to Ellie's. Tim pulled out a dozen dresses from a variety of designers for my daughter to try on until she fell in love with the Justin Alexander Signature in a mermaid silhouette. Never once were we made to feel badly when we made three appointments but left without committing to a dress until the last visit. The dress was ordered a year before the wedding and it arrived at Ellie's three months after the order was placed. We only needed two fittings which is a testament to how accurate Tim was in taking the bride's measurements. The alterations department not only sewed a jeweled belt at the waistline but they did a beautiful job sewing five special eye hooks on the very delicate train to create a five pleat European bustle. The gown was equally gorgeous from the back and the eye hooks held up beautifully throughout the evening.

I HIGHLY recommend Ellie's Bridal, not only for the vast selection of wedding gowns but also for the experience. I had visited 3 other places before this and none of them gave me the same level of customer service (i.e. wouldn't help me with gown selection or help me put the dresses on - which can be so difficult). I immediately felt like the prettiest girl in the world thanks to Jane (definitely ask for Jane when you go)!! She was so attentive and wanted to make sure that I found the perfect dress for me and my body type. She (thankfully) encouraged me to go outside of what I was certain I wanted and I am so glad she did because my perfect wedding dress ended up being one that I never would have selected off the rack on my own. Beyond that, they have a great selection of gowns in all different prices ranges and they have bridesmaid and MOB gowns as well.

I trust them and recommend them so much that I got EVERYTHING there (wedding dress, bridesmaids dress, MOB dress, veil, alterations, preservation). Highly recommend - you'll be glad you went there!

I found some Stella York dresses online that I really liked, and Ellie's Bridal Boutique didn't have them, but they were able to order the sample dresses from the designer for $20 a piece. They take the amount you pay to ship samples off of the price of the amount due for the dress you buy, which I thought was pretty fair! I went to the shop during a Stella York trunk show because they were offering 10% off if you bought a dress that day. I was bummed that they didn't have the dresses I wanted to try, but the owner was nice enough to extend the 10% off when I ended up purchasing one of the Stella York dresses in which I had ordered a sample. Everyone was super nice every time I went in.

Ellie's was only the second bridal store I went to, but the difference between the two stores was night and day. Whereas at the other store I felt like just a dollar sign, Ellie's consultants were attentive, energetic, and just as excited to help me find my bridal gown as I was! I actually met our day-of-coordinator while shopping there! During my appointment, I tried on a ton of different styles and even went back and forth between two stores. Ellie's never made me feel like I was in a constrained timeframe to choose a dress, and by the end of the day I ended up with a beautiful gown there! Ellie's also took care of tailoring and cleaning the dress and did a beautiful job—they were flexible on scheduling and were very thorough in all of the work done on the dress. The prices for both dress and tailoring were also very fair. I also got my bridesmaids dresses at Ellie's which was great! We had a blast trying on dresses at the store, and Ellie's accommodated our large group in one day. They offered a significant discount to my bridesmaids, and when there was a hiccup with one of the dresses they were responsive and quick to come up with a solution--to the point of tailoring a dress and delivering it to our venue in 24 hours. We absolutely loved working with Ellie's through the whole process!

After visiting four different salons, this was the place where I finally found my perfect wedding dress! I had a really great experience at the store. The salesperson was very helpful and choose a variety of dresses for me to try on. She also let us browse the store on our own and pick out a few other options. I decided to have some custom elements added to the dress and the seamstress did an absolutely amazing job. The prices are great. I would definitely recommend the store to anyone looking for a bridal dress!

Buying my dress from Elle's Bridal was a wonderful experience. I went during a Stella York trunk show and found THE DRESS! The sales associate was extremely helpful and patient as I must have tried on 10-15 dresses. I bought the dress at end of January and my destination wedding was beginning of September. Was worried it may not be in in time for alterations, but it came in plenty of time. I decided to take the dress elsewhere for alterations given the negative reviews. I didn't want to risk it. However, based on the wedding dress buying alone, I would definitely recommend Elle's Bridal!

I was really nervous going into the whole dress shopping experience but the gals at Ellie's made me feel at ease. I was able to let them know the styles I liked and they helped gather a few but I was also able to go out myself to find my dress. To say the least, I said yes to the dress.

When I was shopping for a wedding dress, I visited over 10 bridal shops in the DC area and tried on many, many dresses. I knew that deciding on a dress wouldn't be easy for me, and I wanted to explore all my options first. When I first went to Ellie's, I loved their selection and was really glad that they let me browse and look through dresses on my own (unlike some other shops in the area), since I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted. I found several beautiful dresses that I really liked and after trying them on, I knew that a few would be among my top choices that I'd need to come back to. Everyone at Ellie's was so friendly and helpful, and very patient with my indecisiveness! After visiting other bridal shops, I kept comparing to Ellie's and especially one specific dress I found there. Ultimately, that's the one I went back to and decided on (and which many wedding guests told me they loved too)! It was so wonderful being helped by Cassandra at my appointments at Ellie's - I felt like she really got to know me and truly wanted to be sure I was satisfied. I also had my alterations done at Ellie's and was pleased with the work. The seamstress made sure everything was altered to fit just how I wanted. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Ellie's and could tell that everyone there really cares about the customers.

Brides of the greater metro area--stop overpaying for gowns and alterations at other boutiques that are trying to sell you on their designers' names and "posh" experiences. Ellie's is the place to go if you're living in the real world like many of the rest of us and simply want a quality customer service experience at a reasonable price. I thought I found the gown I loved a few months prior to purchasing, and went back here when my parents could be in town to help me decide. On both occasions, each consultant I worked with was completely accommodating and allowed me to try whatever I wanted to try--they also didn't try to push me into things I wasn't comfortable trying. Also, I should mention that the selection here is wonderful--many different styles and designers to choose from and many dresses I hadn't seen at other locations. On the second visit with my parents, I actually found a gown I loved more that the first time I visited--and upon seeing the price tag for not only the dress but also the belt and veil--it's an understatement to say that I was in LOVE. Each time I revisited for my fittings the dress was in great condition and altered the way I had asked for it to be altered. From the first dress I tried on to the minute I walked out the door with the gown I walked down the aisle in, Ellie's made my dress vision a reality at an awesome price.

I started of my search like any typical Bride would at David's Bridal. I tired on a few dresses and found a dress I THOUGHT was it. My Mom suggested we try Ellie's Bridal because she passes it everyday on the way to and from work. I said ok I will give it a shot. I was VERY impressed by Ellie's, it is a beautifully set up boutique shop. The entire staff was very friendly and I found THE DRESS here. Njeri was my consultant and she was excellent at helping me pick out styles to try on. I am a plus size woman and they even have a great selection of dresses for plus size women to try on in the boutique. I actually met Ellie. Ellie and her staff are amazing I would recommend this place to any bride looking for a couture gown for a reasonable price.

When my cousin got married years ago, she got her wedding dress at a sample sale, an idea I loved. As soon as I got engaged I began to research sales; I had been to Ellie's with friends in the past, and they happen to have a sample sale coming up. The whole store was divided by price, their deals were great and the service they provided (dry cleaning and alterations) could not be beat. The whole process was great, and my dress looked amazing for the big day.
