Mary and her team were excellent!

Mary and her team handled all the florals for our wedding - bouquets, boutonnières, arch flowers, aisle flowers, etc. - and even the centerpieces. Mary really cares about her client’s vision for the day! She had several calls with us to walk through what she has to offer, and what we wanted. Everything turned out beautiful and we highly recommend the team!

Mary with Elements of Style ans ger staff were completely and utterly amazing. Honestly I am so glad she was recommended to us by Kona Kai Resort. She was amazing she is a one stop shop and she actually cares about your happiness and the love you have on your special day. My husband loved her, so did my family and all my friends. We got nonstop compliments on the flowers, everything was amazing. This is the place and best this she is local to San Diego area so we were really glad we had her, honestly our wedding would not have been as beautiful without her, and we no longer live in the area and she got our vision and the day was perfect. She is AMAZING!!

Floral Perfection!

We found Mary through our day-of coordinator, and I am so glad we did! I am not a huge floral girl, but it was important to my mom, and she worked with my comfort level to create arrangements that fit our tropical aesthetic perfectly. She went above and beyond, bringing a level of beauty that complemented our wedding party and the venue above what I could have imagined. She and her assistant stepped up and helped set up the venue with the short timeframe they were given after another event in the same space, to make sure it was complete when we arrived.

One final shoutout that seems small, but sticks with me as one of my favorite moments of the day, Mary made sure my dress was fluffed, my dad looked great, and everything was on point right before we walked down the aisle. Having someone give us so much care and attention to detail in that moment showed how much she truly cares about her clients and brides. It was so touching, and I would work with her again in a heartbeat!

An officiant that truly cares

Mary was a wonderful officiant, and she poured a lot of thought and love into our wedding ceremony. We were connected with Mary through the venue we were eloping at. She had an introduction call with us and sent us each a Questionnaire to complete so she could learn more about us and what we were envisioning for our ceremony. She had a follow up call with us a week or two before the ceremony to go over the draft she had written and get our approval. Mary also offered floral services at the time and created a gorgeous bouquet and boutonnière for us. Not only was Mary so sweet and kind throughout the whole process, she also alleviated a huge stress for us at the 11th hour. We were having a destination elopement so we didn’t get to see the location until the afternoon before the ceremony. It ended up not being at all what we had in mind. My husband called Mary that evening and she immediately eased our concerns and, being an expert on the location from her extensive experience officiating there, provided guidance on a location at the property that better fit what we had envisioned - intimate, private, romantic and surrounded by the beauty of nature. It was perfect! The ceremony ended up being slightly different than we planned but it was beautiful, Mary guided us on exactly what to do so we could stay in the moment. She also recommended two local restaurants for us to celebrate at and they were both wonderful! You can tell Mary genuinely loves doing what she does and genuinely cares about her couples and making their ceremony one that is special and deeply personalized to them.

Speechless, thank you Mary!

My husband and I eloped and decided to have our small ceremony at the Kona Kai San Diego Resort. Mary Bowerman is the officiant and wedding planner they partner with and we absolutely couldn’t have pictured our special day without her. From the moment we met, Mary just has this beautiful energy, a genuine sense of love and understanding for all her clients. We felt an immediate connection with her. She loves her job so much that she underwent surgery days before our ceremony and still made sure everything would be ready (luckily her surgery went very well and she was well rested, assured us she wanted to be present). God bless because it truly felt as if family was officiating our ceremony. Since then, we’ve kept in touch with her and are even inviting her to our baby shower. Mary is AMAZING and we would highly recommend her!

Mary is the BEST!!!

Mary Bowerman LITERALLY made our wedding-- it was a super small 12 person wedding but, Mary made it feel so special!! We gave her pretty minimal instruction on our wedding vows and the florals-- yet she still managed to bring our vision to life. She exceeded our expectations as both the officiant and florist. She is very communicative and she went out of her way to get us a mini wedding cake (completely unprompted) Several of the guests went out of their way to share that she was the best officiant they've experienced for a wedding. Can't recommend her enough!!

Mary and her team are INCREDIBLE! From our initial consultation with her, we knew she was highly experienced, professional, and knew what she was doing. Throughout the process, she met with us in person several times before our wedding day, and held additional phone calls to make sure all details and timelines were up to date. Mary is detail-oriented, thorough, and so knowledgeable about the wedding industry/wedding day and she made our day so special and seamless! Our venue, the Coronado Community Center, is only a venue and we needed to hire all of our vendors separately. Mary was instrumental in making sure all the vendors were on the same page, before and during our wedding day. I had Mary's team set up all of the centerpiece we brought, and they did a fantastic job and made it look even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Mary is a wonderful person.

I got married in San Diego, at the Mission Bay Resort 6/21/2024, and Mary was my Coordinator, Florist and Officiant. Mary gave my small, intimate, elopement ceremony a beautiful sophisticated wedding vibe, and my husband and I could not have been more pleased. We got more than we bargained for. I live in Illinois and my guest and I were traveling in from multiple places and Mary was my eyes and ears. She listened to my vision, understood and respected our budget and created a wonderful experience our guest and I are still talking about. The ceremony style she used to officiate our ceremony was so beautifully spoken and executed well by her. The added virtual rose ceremony I recommend for everyone. It's such a beautiful addition about the virtuals your marriage stand on, and it's beautifully officiated by Mary. Our guest were intrigued. Our ceremony was non traditional, we did it our way. Mary also handled our after ceremony arrangement, arranging for complimentary cocktails for ech of our guest on us, at a beautiful outdoor lounge over looking the bay with large fire pits, beautiful views of fireworks and live music our guest enjoyed. Did I mention she recommended a great photographer who she's worked with before, that fit our photographer needs perfectly. Her team the day of ceremony was just as nice as Mary. Mary is beautiful inside & out!

We met Mary by chance in person while she was getting ready to ordain another wedding. It was truly meant to be, and we had an instant connection. We had a few phone calls leading up to our wedding day, and went over all the different scripts and timelines of what was going to happen. She really made us feel heard and comfortable with everything.
On wedding day Mary delivered a beautifully spoken ceremony and knew all the spots to step out of view so we have those special photos of just the two of us.
One thing to never worry about is that Mary will come dressed for the occasion and look beautiful. All of our family said how sweet and kind she was. We highly recommend Mary for your wedding day!

Mary Brings Magic as an Officiant

Mary officiated our wedding, and she brought an abundance of love to our day. Mary’s experience and heart make her the perfect person to help facilitate a monumental day in any couple’s journey. It was truly an honor to have her there. Though I’d been with my now husband for 7 years and had been telling him that I love him for all of them, I was at a bit of a loss for how to properly tell him in front of a crowd of family and friends. I was referred to Mary by one of her friends who was unavailable, which really is just a testament to the wonderful people Mary surrounds herself with. Mary was not only quick to respond (a rare quality in the wedding industry), but her energy and ideas immediately gave me ease in setting up a ceremony script. It was the perfect balance of things that just come with true love and things that were personal to us. Mad Tea Party wedding was spot on!

We cannot recommend Mary and her business, Elements of Style, highly enough for anyone looking to bring a unique and creative vision to life for their special day. The Planner You Can’t Live Without!

Mary was the BEST thing that happened to my wedding AND my mental health! Every single time there was a problem she took care of it and told me I did not need to worry - which happened a LOT because we got married on a Navy base and their security office was a nightmare. She went to bat for me and I never had to worry once about whether things would be okay. She also did the florals, ordered rentals (chairs, table cloths, dinnerware, decorations), and did the day of coordition with her additional team members -she did it all. Her entire vision was me being happy and doing whatever I wanted in my wedding. I texted, called, emailed all the time for a 2 year period of random things I wanted to do and she made it happen no question. She is a timeline master and worked with all my vendors to make sure we were on the same page. She is the type of person when she talks, people listen. And trust me you want that person working for you! She let me put her phone number on my wedding website so that all the guests contacted her with their questions and problems so that I wouldn’t get them. She arranged transportation for me. She also helped plan my rehearsal dinner, scouting venues, getting quotes and making arrangements with the restaurant managers. She has done sooo many weddings that she can show you pictures of ideas from what she’s done in the past if you don’t know what you want. Mary was born for this role and the best thing I ever did was choose her as my wedding planner. I couldn’t have imagined doing it without her.
I’ll tell you what - even my guests starting chanting “MARY! MARY!! MARY!!!” at my reception when I thanked her in my speech! Everyone loves her. If you want a stylish and seamless wedding, hire her!

Mary and her team made my wedding an absolute fairytale

Mary and her team made my wedding an absolute fairytale. Mary truly thought of every detail– from the gorgeous flowers to the beautiful welcome table to the schedule of the events which ran so smoothly. She met with us several times before the wedding to make sure that all of our desires were met, and we would have the best day of our lives. Mary even came to our wedding rehearsal the day before at the church to make sure we had everything we needed for the big day, even though the church already had a coordinator too. At cocktail hour and the reception, Mary and her team greeted all of our guests and made sure that everyone was taken care of. Before my new husband and I made our grand entrance, Mary came up to the bridal ready room to help adjust my husband’s boutonniere and give us words of encouragement before greeting all of our guests. Mary is generous, welcoming, and loving. We were blessed to have Mary be a part of our day. Thank you Mary.

Mary Bowerman goes beyond the realm of wedding coordinator. From our first meeting, it was clear she was beyond her years in experience. A polished professional and a lovely person. How lucky were we to find her. She took off the unwanted stress from the mother of the bride and bride. Her main focus was to clearly understand the expectations and needs of her client. For years, I had a vision of what my daughter’s wedding would be.. a fairytale come true. When I walked into the reception area, it was exactly what I wanted. Incredible flowers that were more than I expected. A big white, green, and gold extravaganza. The room was filled with the scent of star lilies. The romantic visions of perfectly placed lit candles. A room encompassed with love. The glass challengers with the gold beads were beautiful. The overall feeling was romance. The fireplace in the Westgate was decorated to perfection. Draping foliage and exquisite florals that told a story. A story of a romance between two lovebirds who fell in love fourteen years ago and professed their love and became one. Mary took control from the get-go. The rehearsal at the church went off without one glitch. I would like to say I received so many compliments on how organized she was with the wedding party. She left nothing uncovered from wedding timeline to every detail of the reception. My daughter and I are absolutely thrilled. it was a true pleasure to work with Mary Bowerman. Thank you for taking the reins, the horse, and the cart. This mother of the bride is ecstatic.

Mary was our day of coordinator and florist for our 9/9/2022 wedding at Tower Beach Club. She was nothing but amazing and although we only had hired her for the day of the wedding, she was more than willing to answer any questions we had along the way months in advance. You can definitely tell she loves what she does and has a passion for helping others. We unfortunately had to change our ceremony from outside on the beach just hours before our wedding because of rain and she got everything in order inside our reception area and it turned out perfect. You will feel at ease if you hire Mary for your coordinator!

An amazing experience for our destination wedding!

We hired Mary as our wedding coordinator for our wedding at Oceanview Room in Point Loma. This was a destination wedding for my now husband and I since we live on the east coast.

Mary’s knowledge of our venue (on a military base) was instrumental in making helpful recommendations that we would have otherwise overlooked. One key recommendation was about the tablecloths and how they would look much nicer if done a certain way (not the way the base would typically have done it). She was absolutely right!

Something that we didn’t observe, but experienced was how much she was doing behind the scenes. As I was about to walk down the aisle with my Dad, I vaguely recall someone fluffing my dress to make it look wonderful……when I saw the wedding video I learned that it was Mary.

We didn’t have to make a single decision on our wedding day because Mary was so available to us to plan leading up to it. We simply were able to experience our amazing day while she managed and coordinated everything.

We give our highest recommendation for Mary and her crew!

I found Elements of Styles as a recommendation from my venue I used (San Diego Mission Bay Resort). I could not be happier and satisfied with Mary and her team and Elements of Style. This was a destination wedding technically and so attempting to plan and get everything done before hand was a task. Mary is a great partner when planning your wedding!

Mary is a great partner in the wedding planning process! She was so helpful to us as we planned our wedding - answering questions quickly, helping us deal with vendors - and taking care of EVERYTHING the day of so we didn't have to worry about anything but getting married!

She not only was our day-of coordinator, but also did our flowers and decorations. We were somewhat clueless about what we wanted but she somehow pulled together the ideas we did have and totally understood the vision we were going for - casual, celebratory, elegant. It turned out absolutely beautifully.

Mary is the best of the best

I couldn't imagine anyone else marrying me and my husband. I got married 10/1/21 in San Diego and everyone kept commenting that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever seen and that everything went off "without a hitch." Most importantly, Mary gave me and my husband (and my mom LOL) our DREAM wedding. She is so caring, organized, sweet, professional and is the BEST and MOST experienced in all SD. We used her as officiant, florals and coordination. Her ceremonies are so unique and beautiful and personal for each couple. She has wonderful ideas and is SUPER organized. A fairy tale come true

First off, Mary and Josie were amazing!

Paul and I got married on August 21, 2021 and it was a dream come true. Mary and her team were responsible for our florals and decor and day of coordination. Everything turned out great, the flowers were the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen and I loved the arrangements - exactly what I asked for.

They were able to bring my vision to life and the decor was absolutely elegant, exactly as I imagined. Josie was a great help the day of, making sure to keep us focused and I'm glad she was there, it was so easy to get lost in the special moments. We missed a few things on our timeline like sunset pictures, but the day was magical regardless. And Mary was so patient, flexible, and so easy to work with! We would definitely hire this team again if we ever do a vow renewal or have another big celebration.

Mary makes it happen!.. and MAGICAL

Like most brides, I have dreamed of my wedding day FORVER and I have to say, BECAUSE of Mary and her crew, they made that day happen for us!

Trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic was a complete joke. We went thru 3 completely different venues, which then had 3 different plans. The process of being let down by each of these venues Covid restrictions, felt so defeating, and I can honestly say this magical day would not have happened without Mary and her team.

When I look back on the planning of three different venues (which then felt like we had planned 3 different weddings at that point) leading up to the day, I am BEYOND thankful that Mary was there from the start. People say, “ leave it to the professional”... and that is MARY! This is her field, her passion, and my goodness she knows how to make these things go off flawlessly. Not only does she know the ins and outs of weddings, her personal support and encouragement is an added gift in her being apart of this process. She was ALWAYS there in a second to ensure she was going to make it happen, and was calm and comforting through ALL the chaos of venue changing.

One thing that stands out that I really appreciated from Mary is she NEVER left you hanging. Her communication was spot on, and response times in emails/text was fantastic, which made me feel secure in the planning. The communication with the other people involved was great, with timelines so everyone was kept in the loop! Mary knows the little details that I had no idea needed to be taken care of, and that is where I know I had the best help I could have ever asked for.

The FLOWERS! They were amazing. With all the venue changes, flowers and table decor were the last things on my mind. To be honest, I had forgotten the vision of what I had even asked Mary and her team to create, because at this point, I just wanted a wedding to happen! But oh my goodness, when Mary arrived at the hotel to drop off my bouquet it literally took my breathe away! It was the most gorgeous arrangement I had ever seen, and even better than the pictures I had given her of what I wanted it to look like! When we arrived at the reception room, we were blown away at the details I had originally forgotten I had asked, were there... and it was brought to life... it was AMAZING! The colors and the layout was MORE than I could have ever imagined. We loved the details of our sweetheart table and so many guests commented on how gorgeous everything looked.

Like I previously said, this day would NOT have happened without the encouragement and planning by Mary! She restored my excitement for the wedding by creating the best day I’ve dreamed of my whole life. I still can’t believe we made it happen and I still can’t stop smiling at how perfect of a day it was! We can’t Thank you enough for being there through every step and little detail that do make all the difference in creating a day that we will never forget! I wish we could have the wedding all over again! 🤪

Couldn't Have Been More Perfect

Getting married during COVID was not easy but Elements of Style and Mary's team helped me not to worry about a thing. We planned this wedding in 2 months at a beautiful resort in San Diego. Marilyn was our coordinator, and Gillian who made sure the day was perfect. WE had a wedding package that was geared towards COVID. No more than 30 people which worked out great! Marilyn even made sure I didn't walk down that aisle until ALL guest arrived . With a small wedding that was important. Flower were beautiful and everything was set up perfectly. These ladies made the day worry free!

Excellent Experience!!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Mary and her team at Elements of Style! I was getting overwhelmed by all of the ins and outs of wedding planning on my own. I had visited a few venues and their event planners only added to my level of stress and anxiety. I remember my first conversation with Mary. I felt like such a huge weight was taken off of my shoulders and I could finally breathe. She listened to what I wanted and then painted such an amazing picture of exactly what she could do for me. She gave me more options than I thought were possible within my budget. She made me cry tears of joy, relief and of comfort.

Mary is a one stop shop! She was our wedding planner, day of event Cordinator, our officiant, our florist and she even set up our professional photographer. She had so many ceremony wording options/packages for us to review. It was easy to find one that fit out personalities and energy! She has such a calming presence and always made me feel confident approaching our wedding day!

I loved being able to reach out directly to Mary through email/phone for questions or ideas. She was eager to make any changes I needed and never made me feel like I was a burden. She seemed to always be available and was super responsive. I needed that to help ease the anxious feelings.

Dream wedding

Our wedding was absolutely perfect thanks to Mary and Elements of Style! When it comes to planning a wedding we had no clue what we wanted or what to expect. So we decided to work with a planner and decided that Mary was the right fit. We let her know that we wanted the main color to be burgundy and that we wanted sunflowers. Since we know nothing about decorating we asked Mary to pick out and plan everything. Her creativity is beyond what we imagined. It was like a fairy tale wedding with twinkling lights and all. Everything was perfect and so much more than we could have hoped for! Mary not only made the reception beautiful she provided us with a beautiful ceremony as our officiant. We were nervous about writing our own vows so we asked Mary to write out a ceremony for us. She spoke to us individually so that she could personalize the vows and they were so fitting and beautiful. Mary was also very helpful in picking out vendors to supply our ranch outdoor wedding. It was a private venue so we needed to provide everything from tables, chairs, dance floor, Porta potties (the nice ones that people actually like to use), cups, etc. Mary has great relationships with many vendors in the wedding industry. She was able to suggest a few different options and negotiated fair deals for all involved. Mary even called and made the reservations for us, all we had to do was make the payments. We were constantly asked how wedding plans were coming along and we would shrug our shoulders and say great, our planner is taking care of every detail. We were not worried or stressed in any way as we trusted Mary with everything! Not having the stress of planning and decorating for our wedding we were able to enjoy life before our wedding rather than stress because of all the little things. Mary and everyone at Elements of Style involved in our special day, we cannot thank you enough for the dream wedding you provided. We love your team so much and couldn’t be happier with your services!

Couldn't have done it without Mary with Elements of Style

I have so many wonderful things I would like to say I don’t know where to start. As the mother of the bride when our daughter decided she really wanted a destination wedding we started first with a visit to beautiful San Diego and decided on Paradise Point Resort for the venue. That was easy, now what? We had to go home to the Pacific Northwest and plan everything from a distance. Mary Bowerman with Elements of Style came recommended and I am so thankful she was able to help. From the first phone conversation my mind was put at ease. She helped with recommendations, ideas and vendors. She had done many weddings at our venue and knew it well. My daughter and I had many phone conversations with Mary then went down to meet with her at the resort in May 2019 to firm up plans for the September 2019 wedding.
Meeting Mary in person was so much fun. She is such a warm, loving person with more patience then I could ever hope to have. We immediately connected and we loved her ideas and suggestions. Mary was spot on with colors, ideas and theme of the day just from the conversations we had. She understood the very specific ideas shared by “the bride” and we couldn’t have been more pleased when the day arrived. Everything was what we hoped for and more. Mary was so accommodating, patient and reassuring it took all the stress away. She was very responsive and available when we needed anything throughout the whole process from planning to the day of the wedding.
Mary also officiated the wedding ceremony and it was perfect in every way. Her words were beautiful and just what the bride and groom had hoped for. We are so grateful for everything Mary did, from the rehearsal, to the beautiful flowers and all the details to create the day our daughter hoped for, to keeping the reception running smooth and making sure all the details were taken care of. We couldn’t have done it with out Mary and her team. I highly recommend her, she will make your day beautiful, stress free and full of love. Thank you Mary!

TOP-NOTCH - Experienced, professional!

If you don't book Mary for your wedding, then you've made a mistake! She is so experienced, professional and calm! She also has quite a large team of assistants, so depending on your wedding size, she will bring people with her that day. Mary provides services for all your wedding needs (flowers, officiating, decor, and wedding planning!). We used her as our wedding day coordinator, our florist, and our decorator. I have never seen a room look so absolutely stunning in my life. I gave her the colors, and what I wanted in the room, but she had the vision and made my dream come to life! She also is an experienced florist, and we loved what she created with the room. The center pieces were OUT OF THIS WORLD! I can't wait to see the pictures!

We had the most magical wedding, and I can say that she had a huge part of it being the best day of our lives! She went above and beyond to make this day so special for us. We highly, HIGHLY recommend Mary!

Mary is the best!

Mary is the best! She was the florist and week-of coordinator for my daughter's wedding. The flowers and decorations she provided were beautiful, creating the vision my daughter had for the wedding day of her dreams. Mary worked with all our vendors, and helped keep everything on track on the 'big day'. I don't know what we would have done without her.

Amazing!!!

Mary and her team are amazing!! I was very anxious about planning my wedding across the country all by myself. I had a vision of what I wanted and I admit a Type A personality. Meeting Mary and working with her was a godsend. She listened to what I wanted and made it come true. We were blown away with how beautiful everything was. She even saved the day when an issue arrived from our church venue. I would highly recommend her and her team for all events, big or small. I hope and look forward to throwing another event where she can coordinate and decorate it.

Mary has it all!

Mary did a tremendous job as our officiant, wedding planner, and florist. She is truly a Jack-of-all-Trades and had us covered in everything we asked for, even items we thought we were on our own for, she had a guy to do the job. It was such a relief knowing that whatever challenge we came across, that Mary would have the solution. She has been in the business for so many years, and it really shows! Just when you are at your peak stress, Mary was there to calm your nerves. We cannot say enough wonderful things about her and her team. As an officiant, Mary was perfect. So many of our guests would comment on how simple, yet touching the ceremony was and how much they enjoyed the unity wine ceremony which was Mary’s idea! So thankful for Mary and Josie!

I had my wedding on May 4, 2019 at the Bali Hai, and the wedding was everything I dreamed of and more. Mary Bowerman was amazing from day one. She was flexible, organized, communicative at all hours of the day and night, understanding, encouraging, professional, organized, and timely. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day. Josie Sandness was my wedding coordinator on the day of; she had a calm, upbeat energy which was exactly what I needed! All of my family commented on how great a job she did in organizing the day, managing the crowd, and ensuring everything went smoothly. She was organized, efficient, and pleasant to work with. I cannot imagine hiring anyone else to help with my wedding; so many of my friends have horror stories from how unhelpful their wedding planners were, and I am happy to say that I have only positive things to say about my wedding team at Elements of Style. Amazing flowers and service

Using Elements of Style was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Mary has extensive experience and knows what works and what doesn’t. She carefully listened to every request and detail we wanted and delivered a beautiful product. We received many compliments on our beautiful flowers. We were able to save some money by using the same flowers from the ceremony again at the reception as part of the centerpieces. Also from being in the business many years she has quite a collection of wedding related accouterments. We rented charger plates from her, but she has almost everything anyone would need. Although we ended up choosing a different coordinator and officiant, Elements of Style provides these services as well and would be a great one stop shop for your entire wedding. Their truly caring and personal service made our special day that much more special.

Beautiful! Exceeded my expectations!

This review is long overdue. I was married in July and Mary provided the flowers for my ceremony and reception. I loved my flowers! When I arrived at the venue, Mary stole me away for a minute to show me her work. I was blown away. The centerpieces were perfect, the flowers on the cake looked like they were out of a magazine. My bouquet and my girls’ bouquets were elegant and lovely and the bouts for the men were perfectly matched. Mary was very easy to work with and the best value for the money. She worked with my budget and really strived to match my vision (spoiler- she totally achieved the look I was going for). I would highly recommend Mary and her team to everyone!

Mary Bowerman was born for this industry! It’s just second hand nature for her. Before you can think it, she’s already planning it. I used Mary to help me with a party to celebrate my elopement. From the very first meeting she was enthusiastic and seemed to understand my vision immediately. She recommended fantastic vendors and was great and patient with me when I would change my mind about things.

The day of our event I truly could not have been happier. She took complete charge and encouraged me to go relax and enjoy my day leading up to the party, that she had everything under control. The venue we used is at a rec center and is used for dance classes and preschool classes so it needed a complete makeover. When I walked in as the party began I was completely blown away, it exceeded all my expectations and dreams. She had an amazing team who anticipated my every need and during the event we received so many compliments on how great everyone was and how beautiful the room looked.
Mary was wonderful to work with, incredibly talented, and gave me a party of my dreams.

She also did all the flowers for the party and again, exceeded my hopes. I’m a big lover of flowers and what she designed was Beautiful!!!

My Husband and I had the absolute pleasure of hiring Elements of Style for our wedding on May 20th 2018. We had Mary do month of coordination and she also doubled as our florist. My husband and I always knew that our wedding would be a little different and unique, not too traditional and that it would take a special coordinator to make it happen, and Mary and her team delivered on every single level.

Our wedding was absolute perfection!!

Mary and her team took our ideas and implemented them flawlessly. They have impeccable communication skills and Mary is some sort of wizard when it comes to making flower arrangements.

What made our wedding a little trickier than most was that our ceremony took place at Cuvier Park (The Wedding Bowl) in La Jolla with a quick turn around for our reception at the Coronado Community Center on Coronado Island. Needless to say two venues had to essentially be set up and taken down within hours of each other which also included coordinating multiple vendors at both locations. The results for both locations were amazing. Mary and her team took our blueprints and made them reality. On the day of our wedding we had nothing to worry about as we knew our wedding was in great hands. And our guests are still raving about how much fun they had even though it has now been a couple months since the wedding.

If you’re looking for a coordinator who can make your wildest wedding dream come true (and even better than you imagined) there is no need to look further. Mary takes so much time and care into everything you ask for. I remember her saying “Just call me at anytime if you have any questions”, and at one point my then Fiance and I were on the phone with her at 12:30 at night answering some of our concerns. People can go the extra mile in their work, when Mary goes the extra mile and then just keeps on going. She and her team are wonderful, and if you have made it this far in this review you have just found your wedding coordinator!!

Elements of Style (Mary Bowerman) did a fantastic job with my daughter‘s wedding! She made the mother of the bride MOB (me) feel very comfortable and relaxed. Mary’s expertise is to be respected and honored. Loved the way that she made everything and everyone feel so special and contacted me when changes were set in place. We all have heard horror stories when the MOB is not happy!
Mary knew how to work with everyone from step-fathers, blended families and with personal rocky situations from the past. I would recommend Mary and her conscientious staff over and over again.

We planned a destination wedding in San Diego and found Elements of Style through a recommendation from one our prospective venues. It wasn’t easy planning from a distance, but Mary walked us through every detail, helped us determine the perfect set up for our ceremony and reception, connected us with other vendors, designed beautiful flowers, and PERFECTLY executed our wedding day (Corrin was AMAZING for the day-of and keeping our guests and rowdy wedding party in check and on schedule). My fiancé (now husband), and I went to her house and met with her in her office. She is personable and professional, and asked a ton of questions to get a real understanding of what we wanted. She recommended SD Linens for my tables, chairs, Linens and lighting and DJ Justin (Windham). I hired both, and they were fabulous, see my reviews for them on their pages. Mary was available morning, noon and night! I could call, text or email anytime and she’d get back to me right away! She puts you at ease, and is constantly reassuring. Mary was my officiant as well as day of wedding planner. Because of her super power, charisma, she held everyone’s attention during the ceremony. I was so laser focused on her speaking, that I was able to BE in the moment and really enjoy it. We had a Star Wars wedding, and she incorporated some Star Wars references for us. All of my guests commented on how amazing she was!! Mary is the best at what she does, but if you can’t afford to have her as a planner, at least have her as your officiant!! I can’t thank her enough for helping to make my day perfect!!!

We LOVED working with Mary for our wedding! She was our day of coordinator and officiant and she handled both with ease. We really had no idea what we were going to do for the ceremony, but we did know that we wanted it to be non-religious, casual, and fun. Mary had actually been recommended by someone at our venue, Paradise Point, so we decided to set up a meeting and see how things went. Almost immediately, we knew that we wanted Mary to be our officiant. She is warm, funny, and cared deeply about making sure that we had the wedding that we wanted and were comfortable with. She gave us a handful of examples for some ideas about how we could structure our ceremony and was super receptive to some of the ideas we came up with. We had a super small wedding of about 15 people (including the bride and groom) but we had vendor deliveries and set up on the day of that neither of us were going to be available for, but Mary had it covered no problem. I can’t tell you how incredible it was, as a bride, to not have to worry about anything beyond getting myself ready on the day of my wedding. I didn’t get one phone call or text from a vendor because Mary was handling everything like a champ. We had initially been so worried about having someone we didn’t know, who didn’t know us officiating our wedding, but Mary really took the time to get to know us and give us a unique ceremony that really fit our personalities.

Mary and her team did an AMAZING job with my flowers, linen rentals, centerpieces, and most importantly, our wedding ceremony. Mary provided me with a vision board of all flowers and centerpieces, so I knew exactly what I was getting. She worked on putting together the perfect wedding ceremony, personalizing every detail which included a memorial for our fathers, a Catholic Lasso ceremony, and including our 1 year old daughter in the ceremony. It was beautiful and she she had all guests in tears. If you are looking for great service, excel follow through, great communication, and VERY reasonable prices, Mary is your go-to gal!!! We used Mary as our officiant, florist, and day of coordinator, and it was the best decision we could have made. My mom and I still talk about how we cannot imagine planning my wedding without her. We had so many people compliment us on our coordinator after the wedding, saying how sweet she was and how smoothly she made everything go. From the minute you meet Mary, she feels like family and she truly cares about you and the outcome of your wedding. She met with us multiple times to go over little details, and was always very patient and attentive.

Mary made our ceremony so personal and one that our guests will remember. The words she spoke had everyone in tears, and it didn't feel like "just another wedding". She incorporated our parents into the ceremony, which meant the world to them.

The way she decorated our venue was stunning and the flowers turned out exactly how I pictured them. She also hung market lights and drapes which were absolutely beautiful. The day went by seamlessly and stress-free. It was so nice for none of our family members to have to worry about timing/where to be, because Mary had it all handled and under control. I truly cannot imagine wedding planning without Mary!

Mary was AMAZING!!! She surpassed my expectations, and let's be honest, I had some high ones! Not only were her prices VERY reasonable (I called so many florists, and trust me, her prices are really good!), but she gave me ideas on how to re-purpose my flowers in order to keep the cost down. Mary is so genuine, caring, and kind - she helped us through the whole process (not just with the flowers), and I could tell she was genuinely happy and excited for our wedding day. Mary came to us only a few months before our big day! It was an Indian wedding with 300 guests and lots of vendors to coordinate. She made sure the day was taken care of from 10am-midnight without putting any worries or stress on us or our families. Mary recently coordinated and provided the flowers for my wedding in August 2017. I cannot say enough good things about her and her team. First, we set our date a year in advance. Then due to my husband's military training schedule, we had to move our wedding date to just four months out. I wasn't sure if we could do this and I called Mary and she assured me that it could be done. Not only was it done, but it wasn't even stressful! Mary helped us through the process every step of the way. Anytime I had a question or concern she would email or call back within a few hours, often times less! She helped us secure the rest of our vendors quickly and easily. Because we got married on a military base, we had to have all of our vendors vetted with base security. Mary took care of all of that for us which would have been SO STRESSFUL. Cut to the day of, Mary had everything on lock. I didn't have to worry about anything running smoothly or coordinating anything or keeping it on time. Mary made sure everything that needed to happen happened on time and got done right. Not only did she keep everything flowing smoothly, but she was actually nice and kind when she did it! Multiple people remarked on the fact that she was so efficient but managed to be nice while she did it (apparently this is not common). She truly seems like she enjoys what she does and you actually feel the love from her. She wants to make your special day absolutely perfect. I actually had friends at the wedding from Northern California who told me they want to fly Mary up to coordinate their wedding, she was so good! Using Mary as my coordinator and florist was hands-down the best decision I made for my wedding. If you're getting married anywhere in San Diego or the surrounding area, do yourself a favor and use Mary and Elements of Style.

Don't waste your time like we did shopping around for vendors who can do your floral at your wedding. As a Marine, I'm pretty blunt when it comes to reviews and the amazing service provide by Mary, Elements of Style was Second to none. The wedding wouldn't have been the same without her expertise in floral for our big day. Not only was her work impressive but we appreciated how much she was on top of us in choosing our designs and colors because let's face it, sometimes you need a reminder especially when you are dealing with so many people and vendors leading up to your big day. Our son and daughter-in-law's wedding was magical! Mary Bowerman made sure every detail was in place. The floral arrangements by Mary were gorgeous! The day would not have been the same without Mary's coordination and attention to detail. We moved seamlessly through the ceremony into the reception. She ensured that all of the tables looked beautiful, that everyone was where they should be, that champagne glasses were filled and tissues were in the hands of those guests experiencing happy tears! Our ceremony and reception both took place at the Dana on Mission Bay, and I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day. Mary is simply the best. She came recommended from of the venues we toured and from the first time I spoke on the phone with her, I was sure that everything would be perfect the day of our wedding. I planned a San Diego wedding from Virginia, so it was so wonderful having someone local who had many recommendations and experience in the area. Mary did our day of coordination and our flowers, which turned out beautifully. She was incredibly responsive to all of my many questions and had excellent ideas to make our day special. We had a minor hiccup with our dessert vendor, and Mary had the problem solved within minutes! I had no worries the entire day because I knew Mary had everything in hand, from the ballroom setup to getting all of our items back to the room at the end of the night. We had Mary for our destination wedding this January. We did not have a chance to meet Mary or see the venue until our wedding rehearsal, which was the day before our wedding day, and thanks a million that we had Mary. She sent me emails with different pictures so that I can visually see them, she called me to make sure we have every single detail nailed down. As a floral designer, she made us beautiful bouquet and centrepiece, just like what I was imaging. As an officiant, she's professional and knowledge, and she worked extra to coordinate the whole ceremony with my translator. The best part was, considering half of our guests only speak Chinese, Mary even prepared a toasting that translated from a Chinese saying. We selected Mary to be our wedding coordinator, and not only was she fabulous as a planner but she also includes floral arrangements, and officiating. Mary does it all. Mary made absolutely everything that she touched in our wedding perfect! We had never been to San Diego when we decided to have our wedding there. So many things could have gone wrong. I hired Mary primarily for the Week of Coordination, and also ended up using her for our centerpieces/decor/flowers. I was under a very strict budget so originally I tried to do everything on my own, but eventually I decided to 'give in' and met with Mary to consider her services. After meeting with her, it wasn't even a question of whether we would hire her, the only question was where to sign!
While technically she was hired for the Week Of, from the minute we signed with her, Mary was always available to discuss any questions or concerns I had, and she even called me late one evening after I had sent a panicked text because I was feeling overwhelmed. I suppose I should add Therapy to her list of services provided! :-D Her support was invaluable but even more importantly, she's an experienced vendor in the Bridal industry, which means she has a lot of practical knowledge and contacts and can help you plan as little or as much of the wedding as you want. Her company offers a LOT of services so if you prefer, you can eliminate the need to deal with multiple vendors by just going with Elements of Style for almost everything!
She was also very understanding that we were under a strict budget, and she provided several iterations of proposals until I was happy with the decor and flowers while still comfortable with the budget. AND she never made me feel cheap! :)
We got married on a military base and if you're getting married on a base in San Diego, you MUST hire Mary to help coordinate. The base does not offer all of the necessary services [not that I expected them to - after all, their reason for existence is NOT to make me happy.... :-D ] so it's even more critical to have someone that knows the procedures and requirements and how to keep things running smoothly with the extra details in adhering to base policies.
In conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend Mary & Elements of Style! You won't regret it and you'll be so so glad that you did!

My husband and I were so happy that my mother found Mary Bowerman of Elements of Style for our June 27, 2015 wedding. Not only did Elements of Style provide all our flowers and decorations for the wedding, Mary also was extremely valuable in providing week of wedding coordinating services. Despite the fact we only paid for week of wedding coordination, Mary started meeting with us almost a full year prior to the wedding and would respond to all my questions with a phone call or email immediately. She was flexible with us on scheduling conference calls and meeting in person as the date drew closer. When we had trouble with some of our other vendors and needed assistance finding a limo company she was very helpful providing recommendations and doing research for us. The week of the wedding she reached out to all the other vendors to confirm final details and made sure everything was ready to go for set up at the reception venue. Our wedding day would not have run as smoothly as it did without her. It is largely due to her expertise and attention that I have zero regrets about the reception timeline and ultimate experience. My husband and I were able to relax and have fun on our wedding day as the execution of all our plans were conducted by Mary and her team. As mentioned previously, Elements of Style also provided all of our flowers and decorations. Everything from the bouquets and boutonnieres to the center pieces and table arrangements looked beautiful. She transformed the space with her work and I was extremely impressed. Mary cares about maximizing the value of her clients' purchases and recommended that we use the same floral arrangements for both the ceremony and reception. I definitely recommend Mary Bowerman of Elements of Style for both her florist and coordinating wedding services.

I just had Mary come in and do my flowers, but had I the need, I would have used her for my day of coordinator or complete event planner. She was very well organized and knowledgeable about our venue, which made the process much less stressful for me. In Mary I found a coordinator and a friend. If you want a coordinator who is genuine and kind, yet knows exactly how to effectively run a show, keep the ball rolling, and think on her feet, then you want Mary. Mary was our day-of coordinator and florist for our wedding at Tom Ham's Lighthouse. My husband and I took a minimalist approach to flowers for our nautical-themed wedding, as we did glass vases with sand, candles, starfish, and sea shells for our table centerpieces. We only needed flowers for our bouquets, a couple of tables, and some petals for the ceremony isle. When I began calling florists for quotes, the typical response I got was "Well, I have a minimum order of $$$". That minimum was way higher than what we needed and wanted to pay. In contrast, when I called Mary, her immediate response was, "Let's not worry about minimums, just tell me what it is you need." Then and there, I felt relief! Mary was great. She offered suggestions about things I hadn't thought of, and she put together a very detailed plan for the flowers within a day. Just from one phone conversation and one email I knew I also wanted her as my day-of coordinator. As my day-of coordinator, Mary flawlessly set up all of my decor going off of mock-ups I had put together the week before the wedding. She directed our wedding party at rehearsal (the officiant didn't attend), got us all down the isle in order and on time (including my 2-yr-old ring bearer), helped my ring bearer blow the bubble machine during the recessional, and made sure cocktail hour was going smoothly while we were getting our pictures taken. She called all of my vendors the day before the wedding, made sure they were all good to go, and pulled strings to allow my guitarist/DJ to set up earlier than the venue told him he could. When I told my bakery person, photographer, and venue manager that Mary would be my coordinator, they all said the same thing with enthusiasm: "WE LOVE MARY! SHE IS GREAT TO WORK WITH!" Hire Mary!

My husband Jeff and I have nothing but positive things to say about Mary. She exceeded our expectations as our Day-Of-Coordinator. When I told Jeff I was writing this review, all he could say was “Oh, she was freaking awesome.” We had our ceremony and reception at The Ocean View Room at Naval Base Point Loma. We had a lot of hick-ups and obstacles along the way with the Navy, but Mary made sure everything went smoothly. When I was planning the wedding, she told me where to buy my candles and everything else I needed for the best prices. She prevented disasters from happening the few weeks leading up to the wedding…even though she was just hired for the wedding day. The week before the wedding I was freaking out about venue stuff and I must have called, texted and emailed her a hundred times. She immediately got back to me and helped in every way she could. When we found out it was going to rain, she was able to pull some strings and managed to book us a tent just 48 hours before the big day… crisis adverted! I can honestly say she went above and beyond to make sure our day went according to plan. Our flower lady was about 30 minutes away from our venue, and when Mary found out they weren't going to be ready in time, she drove all the way to meet her to make sure we got the bouquets for pictures before the ceremony. Mary kept everything on track, and did an outstanding job. Our wedding went off without a hitch and I can thank Mary for that. I highly recommend Mary to anyone who is looking for a wedding coordinator. The only thing I regret is not hiring her full time!

Mary is amazing. She guided us through the process and we received from her the most meaningful words during our ceremony. She was also very kind and understanding to our needs and was greatly supportive. She also designed the bouquet and boutonniere and the result was simply unique and beautiful. She really engaged with us and the importance of our union.

The woman we ordered our wedding cake through (Shirley Resnick, look her up!!) recommended Mary, and we are so glad she did!

Mary made it incredibly easy for us on our wedding day, and all the planning before hand! She had great ideas, and showed us lots of pictures and options to help us make our choices. My bouquet was red roses, babys breath and black tinted eucalyptus -- stunning! I got compliments all night! Ask her about the virtues roses, too! Everyone commented on what a beautiful, memorable and original experience it was for them.

The day of the wedding came, everything arrived on time and everything was just gorgeous! They set up all the table settings for us, and then dismantled them at the end of the night. It was simple, but so striking and beautiful. She was a joy to work with! I wish I could remember the name of the woman who helped out the day of the wedding as well; she was wonderful, too!

Do yourself a favor and give Mary a call! You won't regret it!

Calling all brides!!!! Do yourself a favor and hire Mary! Seriously the best thing I did for my wedding. She handles all the vendors. Makes contact with all of them before hand and has a conversation to make sure she knows all the little details. We picked day of services but it was much more than that. She did everything so seamlessly that I never had to worry about a thing. She was with us the whole night of the wedding making sure we were taken care of. She is amazing and made for such a stress free easy wedding day.

Mary was the Wedding coordinator, officiant and flower artist for my sons wedding on 11/7/15. She did and incredible job. The flowers were beautiful and the decorations were amazing. Mary was our wonderful Day-of-Coordinator and officiant. We found Mary because she was a preferred vendor at our venue (Paradise Point) and also worked really well with our photographer and she did a great job with really knowing our venue well and working well with our other vendors. We were really excited about everything she offered for the coordination but then when she offered to officiate for us for a package rate and she sent us samples of her ceremonies we were so moved, we knew she was a perfect fit.

So first about her coordination: My husband and I are scientists so we care a LOT about details, Mary is just like us and extremely detail oriented. I was so nervous that the details I took two years to plan would get forgotten or overlooked and Mary was able to follow every little thing we wanted done and made our wedding just flawless! We wouldn't have been able to have the wedding we had without her. She kept the timeline going perfectly and was always making sure we were well taken care of. She was easy to contact and even if she was busy, she always acknowledged our emails and let us know when she'd respond. She was very professional and also warm and helpful. She also saved the day with safety pins for my broken bustle. She did great with our rehearsal the day before as well, on our wedding day everything went so smoothly.

Now officiating: Our guests absolutely LOVED how personal our ceremony was and it moved them to tears. She had such beautiful words that weren't just cookie cutter. She personalized it exactly to us (and even learned some Hawaiian phrases and traditions for us since we live in Hawaii). It felt like we had a good friend up there with us who was also really great at officiating. She even shed some tears which proves that she really does care about her couples. She also took care of our marriage license very quickly which we appreciated. We are so happy looking at our ceremony pictures and having her with us!

Mary is a wonderful wedding planner, coordinator, provider of decorations, flowers, etc, and she handles all those arrangements perfectly on military base venues, as well as at private venues. She provided beautiful flowers for our older daughter's wedding last year, and this year we were thrilled to let her handle all the details of our younger daughter's wedding at a beautiful military venue on Coronado Island. Her experience in dealing with the many extra details required on a Base was immeasurably helpful. She is kind, has a great flair, and takes care of all the details so that the bride and her family can enjoy the wedding/reception without a worry in the world! We highly recommend her efficient and competitively priced services to all!

Mary was absolutely amazing!!!! We were referred to her by our wedding Photographer. I could not have done it without her. Everything went so seemless and perfect! My florist forgot the flower girl bouquet but I didn't even stress because Mary ensured me she would take care of it! She sure did. She came up with a last minute little arrangement for my flower girl and it was just perfect! Mary really enjoys her job and really cares about her couples! I am the mother of the bride and just planned my daughter's wedding. It was a bit of a task since my daughter and her groom were both living out of state and were coming "home" for the wedding. I hired Mary to be our "day of" wedding coordinator, officiate and florist. She was exemplary at every task and I could not be more pleased with every single element of our event. From the very first phone conversation I had with Mary I commented to friends and family how much I liked her. She was kind and helpful from the first moment. She took several meetings with me to plan the wedding. She provided photos of ideas and sample ceremonies so we could visualize every detail. Her goal from the first moment was to provide the wedding my daughter wanted. Mary was very patient in waiting for me to get approval via e-mail and text message. Mary is thoughtful, understanding, and extremely talented AND has a great sense of humor. I brought her some initial ideas and a color scheme and she created an absolutely beautiful venue presentation including all the little details that were important to us. My daughter commented repeatedly about how beautiful the center pieces were at the reception and though she never got to meet Mary until the rehearsal, she fell in love with her instantly. The other vendors I worked with were familiar with Mary and at the mention of her name had only wonderful things to say about her. My very favorite thing that Mary accomplished was very professionally silencing a utility company helicopter that threatened to drown out our outdoor ceremony by asking them to stop work early the afternoon of our event. Simply put Mary is just amazing!! No bride could ever go wrong hiring Mary Bowerman and her team to provide that perfect wedding experience.

Mary was our florist and day of coordinator. We met 3 times before the wedding day to review all of the details. The flowers were exactly how I wanted them, and they turned out to be beautiful. She has tons of experience, and I felt at ease with her in charge!

Mary was the best decision we could have made during the whole wedding planning process. I had been on the fence about whether we really needed a wedding coordinator and I am so glad we decided to go with Elements of Style (Mary Bowerman). Not only was she my wedding coordinator but she was also my florist and the person who I rented my linens from (one-stop-shop Mary was). I fell in love with her from the first conversation we had. She is so easy to talk to and she actually listens to what you want. I knew the basics of how I wanted my wedding to look and the style and feel I was hoping to convey to my guest and to my future husband and honestly Mary hit the nail on the head with every part of my wedding. I could not have been any happier! Not only did Mary help the day run smoothly, but she anticipated any bumps that would come our way. Mary and her staff were very reassuring throughout the entire night. She went with the flow of things and handled the bumps with ease and professionalism. With everything Mary had to do that day/night, she made it appoint to swing passed us every so often to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. I love her for that! Mary made you feel like her friend and not just someone that you hired for the night. She is clearly knowledgeable and experienced with all things wedding-related. Very flexible to work with, you can contact her at all times of the day, reliable and very personable. When planning such an important, intimate and once-in-a-life-time event you want to work with someone who is passionate with what they do and who understands how much this means to you, Mary is that someone! Because of her help, we/I was able to truly focus on enjoying the day and each other, rather than worrying about the bumps in the road. I cannot imagine doing it without her!

Mary did the flowers for the wedding a good friend of mine about 5 years ago. I remembered how beautiful her wedding was and reached out to Mary to see if she could work the same magic on my wedding! Mary is so friendly, energetic, talented, knowledgeable, professional and knows exactly how to give you want you are looking for!!! I went to her with a color scheme and a few ideas and she totally blew me away with her attention to detail and creativity!

We could not have been more pleased with the services and attention to detail Mary and Jennifer provided. It was supposed to be day of coordinator but was really like an 8 month coordinator. The individual custom planning went so smooth and every single thing we talked about and planned went without a hitch. They are amazing and treated us like family.. Mary was the Wedding Co-ordinator, Florist and Officiant for my daughter's wedding on 8/8/14. We started our plans with her months ahead of time and she was so responsive and always willing to meet and discuss any ideas or concerns we had. She provided invaluable advice from her years of doing wedding co ordination and had such great suggestions which all proved to make the wedding the fun event we hoped for. She know the best vendors and when they hear they will be working with her they are thrilled. Her manner is kind, understanding, honest and she truly wants to make your wedding everything you hoped for. We faced a small crisis 2 weeks before the wedding and she was right on top of it, finding other solutions and keeping us calm.
My daughter had a certain vision of what she wanted, and Mary not only kept that vision but wowed us by enhancing it. When I walked into the venue and saw the flowers and the table settings I was absolutely stunned by the beauty of it, I could never have imagined in my mind how spectacular it was going to look. . Mary is creative, talented and gifted. She displayed all our items beautifully with accents of candlelight and starfish and many colored vases of gorgeous flowers. The bridal bouquets were magnificent as well. Additionally, she performed a very touching ceremony that our guests are still commenting on. Mary is organized, composed, efficient and just amazing. During the wedding she was gently taking care of the timeline and all other things to keep the wedding running smoothly. As I look at the photos of the wedding now I appreciate even more all she did, she is the best !!
