Delicious food, great experience

We were very pleased with Elaine Bell Catering! We received many compliments from our guests on the food, both hors d'oeuvres and dinner (especially the mac n cheese balls!). The service was very professional and they did a great job accommodating for dietary restrictions.

Amazing food

We’re from Dallas and choosing vendors for a Sonoma wedding was not easy. Elaine Bells food was by far the easiest decision we made. We had them cater both our rehearsal at Kunde and our wedding at BR Cohn and the food was phenomenal. They checked in on us often throughout our wedding night to make sure we had enough food and we tried all three dishes we served to our guests. They were so kind during our tasting, and through both events they catered. Their food was worth every penny. You will not be disappointed choosing them !

Delicious and Beautifully Arranged Food with Impeccable Service.

When looking for caterers, we were relieved to find Elaine Bell. Their food looked phenomenal (and trust me, it is!), but they also offered full services to meet all our needs and simplify our wedding planning considerably. Instead of finding a baker, wait-staff, flatware, bartenders, etc. - Elaine Bell had us covered. Their service and professionalism was phenomenal- they were consistently attentive to our guests and the ever shifting goings-on between ceremony and reception. We had a full charcuterie table, hand selected dinner buffet and 2-tier cake with assorted baked treats and every bite was beautifully displayed and tantalizingly delectable. I would go with Elaine Bell 100 times over.

Great food and awesome team!

Jennifer at Elaine Bell was so great to work with. Finding a caterer for our wedding was tough as some other caterers felt too pushy, or wouldn't customize the menu as much as we wanted. Jennifer was always accommodating, creative, and also transparent with us. Our wedding was postponed one year due to Covid and she allowed us to have a second tasting as our ideas had changed for what we wanted. What we loved most about working with EB besides the amazing quality of food for our guests, was their experience really helping keep the wedding organized and flowing on-time. The EB service and bartender team were so fun and personable, several of our guests commented on how nice, great and speedy they were. And everything ran according to schedule. They even packed up some food or us to go after the wedding - which was beyond thoughtful. Thank you EB for making our wedding food and beverage dreams come to life

Wonderful!

Elaine Bell Catering was recommended to us by our wedding planner! We had a wonderful time at the tasting and Dustin was very helpful in making sure we were happy with our food/drink choices. They did an amazing job setting up for our big day, everything was presented nicely and most importantly everything was delicious!! We would highly recommend using them for your event!

Excellent food and service

I'm not just saying this because it was my wedding, all of our guests agreed, this was the best wedding food we have ever had. From the passed appetizers to mains and desserts, we loved it all. The service during the wedding was great as well. The whole team went above and beyond. We got married in a huge rain storm, which meant flipping the same barn from ceremony to dinner and then to dancing. This also meant dinner service was in tight quarters, but the Elaine Bell team pulled it off flawlessly. We are so grateful we chose them for our big day. Thank you for making our guests happy and for the excellent food and cocktails!

Elaine Bell exceeded expectations! Look no further!

My husband and I got married in CA on 8/7/2021 and could not have been more thankful that we had chosen Elaine Bell as our caterer! Cara was so incredibly helpful during the planning process and the day of team went above and beyond our expectations!

Our biggest concerns were the taste of the food, wait time for both food and drinks, and kindness of the staff. They were incredible in all categories. I had so many guests talk about how delicious the apps were during cocktail hour as well as the dinner entrees! Also, there was never a time where glasses were empty. The staff's kindness was unmatched!

We had last minute mask mandates be put in place before our wedding. The entire staff was courteous and followed these rules and made our guests feel extremely safe!

Overall we had the best experience with Elaine Bell and we would highly highly recommend them for any catering event!

Above and Beyond Catering Service

Elaine Bell Catering did an excellent job catering our wedding. They were flexible in adjusting to our scaled-down wedding and delivered excellent quality across the board. We had an enjoyable time choosing our menu in their tasting room pre-covid and highly recommend the experience to anyone looking for a caterer for their wedding. We had a high expectation for the quality of the food and drink after our tasting, but were especially impressed with the serving staff the day of. They were professional and did a great job responding to requests from our guests. Overall, I’d happily use Elaine Bell catering again and would recommend them to any of our friends or family.

Delicious, professional & COVID bride approved

Elaine Bell catered my micro-wedding a few weeks ago, and they made the night. The food was delicious and BEAUTIFUL, I've never seen such beautiful food. They were extremely kind and professional and helped us think through precautions needed to ensure the event was safe in light of the recent health crisis. I can't wait to use them again! I've been craving their ahi tuna tar tar since the wedding!

Amazing Foodie Wedding!

Dana and Elaine Bell Catering made our wedding one to remember. All of their food was beautiful and delicious. We are self-proclaimed foodies and wanted our guests to have a fine-dining experience at our wedding. Elaine Bell came through with an amazing meal. They are also very flexible in changing meals and creating new dishes for your specific tastes. They have an amazing menu to choose from but are also willing to customize everything! Setting the bar for caterers.

Elaine Bell Catering is a premier caterer that delivered a flawless menu for us. The style of food is California cuisine - seasonal, full of flavor, leveraging local vendors (hello artisan cheese) and beautiful on the plate. We had several food restrictions and they worked with us on a menu that would provide an outstanding meal for our vegetarian and gluten-free guests. The staff was attentive and responded to any needs that arose. I was able to enjoy the meal, from appetizer through the cake, and felt that the flow was seamless. What more could you ask for? If you want a vendor that rises above the crowd, you could do no better.

Long overdue review of amazing caterer

This is a long overdue review of the best wedding caterer we could have imagined. We worked with Jennifer Thompson and she was incredible. She worked tirelessly with us tweaking the menu, and continued to make changes after our tasting (which was amazing...so much good food...).

From the first phone conversation we had with her, Jennifer was intent on making our vision and themes come to life. We wanted Mexican food with a twist for the main course and a selection of hors d'oeuvres that matched our favorite foods. The various iterations of the menu that Jennifer put together were all fantastic. The most challenging thing about working with EB was trying to decide which of the most amazing dishes to include on our menu...(including drinks. who knew lemonade could be so delicious? We chose the maple cayenne but the jalapeno peach was a close second).

Now, on to the wedding day. As far as I, the controlling bride, could tell, everything went perfectly. The guests loved the food (my co-workers stationed themselves by where the apps were coming out :)) and the staff made sure that my husband and I ate plenty during the cocktail hour. Dinner was somehow even BETTER than the food we tasted in our intiial tasting. We had our own doughnuts and doughnut wall, and the EB staff set it up beautifully.

As if EB couldn't get any better....the day after the wedding, my husband and I noticed a beautiful EB cooler in the pack of items that came back from the venue. It included a full picnic set with silverware, wine glasses and plates. They packaged doughnuts for my husband and me and also gave us snacks like cheese and pate. We use that cooler regularly.

All in all, I would hire EB again and again. One year anniversary party?? :)

My stomach is growling as I write this. Elaine Bell catered our wedding on 6/14/19 and we simply could not have been more pleased with their service and FOOD. I mean, just check out this menu:

- Salad of Baby Organic Greens with Balsamic Roasted Black Grapes, St. George White Cheddar, Spiced Black Walnuts, Fuji Apples, Balsamic Apple Cider Vinaigrette & Basil Oil
- Greek Roasted Chicken with Lemon, Garlic & Oregano
- Seared Salmon with Leek Pea Puree, Sweet Corn Fennel Ragout, Pickled Mustard Seed & Popcorn Shoots
- Tagliarini Salad with Pine Nuts, Lemon & Zucchini with Fresh Herbs & Lemon Herb Dressing
- Whole Roasted Rainbow Carrots with Honey Thyme Glaze
- Rustic Artisan Breads with Sweet Butter

Guest after guest told us it was one of the best meals - and not just wedding meals - they've ever had. We also got RAVE reviews on the cheese display we had out during cocktail hour. The one minor complaint my husband had was that it took a little longer than expected to get the main courses out after the salad (we did plated salads and family style for everything else), but it didn't seem to bother anyone else.

We worked with Cara and she was organized, kind, and so responsive to our needs - no tomato for me, no meat for him, vegetarian for the cousin, add passed apps, take away passed apps, etc.

Thank you, Elaine Bell staff, for everything! Highly recommend!

Unbelievable Food!

As people who consider themselves foodies, we were looking for the furthest thing from wedding food, to the point where we wanted the food to be the star of the show (secondary to us of course). Too many times we would attend a wedding to only push food around the plate as it was mediocre at best (yes we are a bit judgmental).

Enter Elaine Bell!

Due to being on the East Coast, we had to go through online reviews and word of mouth to figure out who we would talk to. Eventually we narrowed our choices to 3, and set up phone calls with all of them. Dustin was our contact at Elaine Bell and he was flexible, able to work within our budget, and provided excellent descriptions of what Elaine Bell could offer. We thought his attitude towards the food was exactly what we were looking for, and signed on (pre-tasting as we couldn’t jet set across the country before choosing). What a great decision!

When we did finally make it out there to taste after going back and forth over email about menu items, the food was OUTSTANDING. Definitely one of our favorite meals to date in the Napa area (and we eat for a hobby). Left the tasting pumped and overly full (and likely pleasantly spoiled our dinner 5 hours later)

Come wedding day, our tasting food showed up to our event, no different than the tasting- same exceptional quality :) Our guests unsolicitedly came up to us all night exclaiming about how fantastic the food was and my NYC foodie friends declared it was “not wedding food” (which is a HUGE compliment to us). Dustin even came over to make sure we were happy and we could not have been more thrilled. My wife was only disappointed that she couldn’t eat more in all the excitement. To top it all off, they sent us with a little cooler with our key-lime pie cupcakes (which they specifically made for us at request and were AMAZING).

Amazing start to finish

I found them online and actually booked before we taste tested since we live out of state. One of the best decisions I made. Richard was a dream and so much fun to work with. One of our wedding themes was travel, so I was determined to do stations around the world. We had Spanish paella, a taco bar, dim sum, and southern comfort. Southern comfort was for our less adventurous guests and I was not as excited about that station, until I tasted the food. Best fried chicken and mac and cheese I have ever had. The day of our wedding I barely ate with nerves and being busy, so was so so glad we had taste tested everything and it was all, without fail, delicious. Amazing. Having had plenty of work chicken dinners, I was determined some something different and they did not disappoint. Excellent quality of food, and our venue was a barn in a vineyard so it did not have a kitchen, they brought all the infrastructure they needed with them. Beautiful presentation as well, and tons of food. People still talk about the amazing food at our wedding.

Our daughter got married at the Secret Garden in Bodega Bay, CA. A magical venue for such an occasion. But what made the event truly amazing was the outstanding quality of food prepared for this event. Everything from the three beet salad to the 48-hour braised short ribs, cedar plank salmon and the amazing sweet pea risotto, to the delicious mini chocolate mousse and crème brulé, was of absolute top quality. The 19-member service staff, whether manning the bars or serving the tables, everything was first class. I would highly recommend this amazing caterer to anybody wanting a guaranteed successful event. Jennifer was a star to work with.

Elaine Bell Catering was wonderful for our wedding. From the moment I spoke with Liz at EBC I felt at ease and excited to plan our wedding food. We worked with Jennifer for most of our planning and she was also superb! We came up with a menu that was fun and creative and that suited our California and Southern backgrounds and they really worked to meet our budget. The mini chicken and waffles were amazing and so perfect for our wedding! Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the food. Jennifer also went above and beyond to help execute my vision for our cheese display for our cocktail hour! They sent us home with the cutest cooler filled with goodies for munching on the next day too. I was super excited about the cooler and will be using it for all kinds of picnics in the future!

After looking at what seemed like endless caterers, my husband and I went with Elaine Bell for our wedding at the Bently Reserve this past June – and between the food and the service, we could not recommend them more highly.

Our catering manager, Stephanie, was incredible. She worked with us tirelessly on our menu, offering suggestions and making adjustments until everything sounded perfect -- and everything we tried at our tasting was even better than they sounded. We genuinely loved every single appetizer and entrée we tasted (we highly recommend the tuna tartare cones and the mini cheeseburgers, in particular).

Even better, we found that the quality of the food remained consistent and tasted just as good at the wedding itself, something our wedding planner told us is not always the case. Our guests raved about everything they served – especially the mini donuts they made on-site for dessert. Brides and grooms, do yourselves a favor and GET THE DONUT MACHINE. It was such a fun, unique treat for the wedding; and it kept serving hot, delicious goodies well into the evening to keep our guests happy all night long.

And on top of the excellent food, the service we experienced with Stephanie and her team, both throughout the process and during the wedding itself, was truly unparalleled. Everyone was super professional and genuinely seemed to care about the work they put into the evening. They were definitely a huge part of making our wedding perfect!

Oh wow, I don't even know where to begin with Elaine Bell. Just hire them! They were a dream to work with, so easy, flexible, and low-stress. their food is incredible, our guests are still raving about their meals, and their staff is professional, prompt, and so pleasant to work with. We live in Phoenix, AZ so we needed to hire a caterer that could work with us long-distance and work with our wedding coordinator and venue. When we met with Cara for our tasting, she was professional, nice, and very informative. She made planning our wedding so seamless and easy, it took a lot of stress off of us and let us enjoy the weekend. They are true professionals in every sense and they provide you with the highest quality food and service. Our wedding was amazing and a dream come true, and a lot of that can be attributed due to Elaine Bell. I would hire them again in a heartbeat for any type of event, and I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer in wine country.

Absolutely perfect. 6 stars if I could. Food was like fine dining, service was incredible.

Debbe was an awesome account manager, and was very helpful in selecting my menu, making sure we had a strong set of dishes that worked well together. I'm a foodie, but planning for a ton of hors d'oeuvres and courses was difficult, and Debbe did a great job helping me through (and dealing with my waffling).

Our tasting was really nice, they have a great location and great service, and really made us feel like we'd be taken care of. We had notes on some of the dishes (add more cheese to this, a little more soy here) and they delivered.

The Food - Amazing. Everyone at our wedding raved about the food. "Wedding food usually sucks, this was like fine dining!" they said. The crown royale braised short rib entree was just out of this world. It was one of my favorite things I've eaten since living in the Bay Area, and I was just so proud (as a food snob) to have had it at my wedding. We had 5 hors d'oeuvres and all were awesome.

The Service - Perfect. During cocktail hour, they sent servers to bring us appetizers to make sure we were well fed (they knew we'd barely have any time). Service was excellent during dinner - our guests said they could tell who were the pros vs. the venue staff. And finally, after the wedding they provided us with a beautiful picnic bag full of snacks, cheese, desserts, and a whole tray of pate that was used in my wife's favorite hors d'oeuvre of the night.

My husband and I just got married in August, and after 11 months of planning I could not be more impressed with the day of execution. From the awesome staff, to the perfect presentations and timeline to the amazing food, the day could not have turned out better. We worked with Richard throughout the whole planning process, and having been born and raised in the Napa Valley, and knowing exactly what I always wanted for my special day, I have to say he was a complete dream to work with and his dedication showed through. It was truly an incredible day and I have to say a majority of that was due in part to such perfect catering. I will definitely be using Elaine Bell again in the future, as will my guests that lived in the area, the food left that big of an impact. THANK YOU AGAIN EB TEAM!!!

Absolutely delicious food, beautiful presentations, and a fantastic staff and event coordinator (Richard Earl), we couldn't have been happier with Elaine Bell Catering. It was very important to me and my husband that the food at our wedding be excellent, and that is exactly what we got with Elaine Bell. After several tastings with various caterers in the Bay Area, they stood head and shoulders above the rest with regard to both the taste and visual appeal of the food, and also the ease of communicating with them - it made our decision easy, and the fact that their food and ingredients reflect our love of Northern California's cuisine and its focus on local and organic made us even happier. Working with Richard Earl throughout the wedding planning process was a pleasure - he was unfailingly responsive, helpful and pleasant, and very, very knowledgeable. We came into this without the first idea of how to plan such an event, and knowing that a great deal of the success of the afternoon and evening rested in the hands of the Elaine Bell staff gave us peace of mind. During and after the wedding we received many compliments on both the food and the professionalism and kind attentiveness of the staff. The latter I particularly noted, as well, even in the midst of what was an incredible whirl of a night. We highly recommend Elaine Bell Catering!

I loved working with Emily at Elaine Bell catering, and I couldn't have been happier with the food at my wedding. Emily was reliable and full of good ideas. She helped my now-husband and me come up with ideas for a scotch-bar and even suggested special ice cubes and a fun display. And the food at the wedding was so good that my wedding guests are still talking about it three weeks later. The baby rack of lamb hors d'oeuvres and the ice cream sandwiches were the biggest hits.

Where do I begin? Thank god our planner brought us to EB. We thought we'd found the caterers the day prior to our meeting with them, but holy moly, thank goodness we waited to check EB out. We met Richard at the tasting and fell in love with him. The food was to die for (like Michelin star quality, truly) and the set-up was wonderful at the tasting. We were treated like royalty and even enjoyed a bottle of bubbly to celebrate. Throughout the menu planning process, Richard was nothing but helpful and supportive. Any question we had he was quick to answer and made all adjustments however we wanted them. We had stations and we kept getting compliments all night on how amazing the food was. And the staff was great, as well. The only "complaints" we had were the serving staff was too good -- drinks were placed on tables and they were swiped when people hadn't finished drinking them - ha! And a friend was bummed the food had been cleared because she hadn't had the chance to try something. Not bad complaints, really! Thank you, EB, for making our wedding truly an event to remember. I wish I'd gotten to enjoy more of the food but as the bride, it's always hard :)

I was planning a destination wedding from Texas. They did a great job working with our scheduled visit to California, and did a wonderful job. The food was one of the best features of the night! I have family members STILL talking about the appetizers! GREAT to work with and brought great ideas, as well as worked with my ideas. Farm fresh ingredients and local flair made it delicious!

We had a very positive experience with Elaine Bell catering and especially Amanda Gall, who directed our tasting and was the EB coordinator for our daughter's wedding. Mandy was delightful to work with, responsive and professional and very flexible with some of the changes and additions we made to the contract.
The food and service provided by Elaine Bell at the wedding was just delicious and the food which was served family style was hot and served quickly. I could not recommend them more highly.

I cannot say enough about how amazing Elaine Bell was. We tasted at a total of 4 different caterers in the Napa Valley area and Elaine Bell was the best. And when it came down to the final cost they were not really anymore expensive than the others we looked at. During the whole planning process we worked with Rachel and she was extremely helpful and always on top of things. A week before the wedding we had a couple special requests and they had no problem accommodating us.
The service was amazing the day of the event. They even had someone who was designated to bring myself and my husband appetizers while we were having our photos taken so that we got to taste everything. They also made sure the wedding party had some appetizers as well. The dinner was delicious, just how we remembered it from our tasting. A lot of our guests commented on how good everything was! All of Elaine Bell's staff was friendly and always had a smile on their face during the whole event. And then at the end of the night, they had packed a really nice picnic bag with food and wine and put it in our room so that we had a late night snack if we wanted it. I could not be more happy with our choice of caterer and would recommend them to anyone who is getting married in the Napa Valley area.

Food and cocktails were amazing. Our guests could not believe how good it was! They were very professional and well organized staff that made our wedding reception and cocktail hour flawless. At the end of the night, they even gave us a little picnic basket with snacks...so thoughtful!

Initially, Elaine Bell was the in house caterer for our venue. However, we later discovered that our venue would no longer use Elaine Bell on the date of our wedding. So based only on the reviews and awards that Elaine Bell Catering has acquired, we changed our wedding date.

THE BEST THING WE DID. The food at the wedding was exactly as presented to us during our tasting. Even better, the food tasted just as we expected from the tasting. The food was the quality and taste of a five star upscale restaurant. In addition to the taste of the food, the presentation was amazing. Everything was perfectly placed as if a piece of art on a plate. The appetizers were rich with taste and perfection as well.

During the planning process, Elaine Bell was helpful, attentive, responsive and highly professional. During the wedding, Elaine Bell and her staff made sure the entire progression of the wedding went smoothly and just as we had planned.

We would highly recommend Elaine Bell Catering to anyone planning a wedding or special event. We always felt like important customers.

Elaine Bell catering was fantastic! They listened to our requests and worked with us to create a wonderful, unique and incredibly delicious wedding menu. All our guests commented on the professionalism of the servers and the beautiful presentation, as well as the great taste, of the food. When we ran out of chocolate dessert, they made a substitute that was so good everyone wanted the recipe. They even made a special plate for a guest who had allergies to some of their dishes. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

This venue was more than I could have ever hoped for. They worked with me on ways to reduce teh per head cost which really helped. Not to mention that the location is gorgoeous with plenty of room for a small or large wedding. My guests were very impressed and the puctures turned out amazing! Our coordinator was so responsive and we didnt even have one complaint at the end of it all. If you want your wedding to look like it cost $30K but you want to spent more like $5K....this is the place to be...OH and they DIDNT have a F&B minimum!

Elaine Bell provided catering for our wedding and a large rehearsal dinner. The food was even better than the tastings that we had. The staff was so friendly and wonderful to work it. All our guests commented that the food was amazing. Everything from the welcoming lemonades, appetizers, entrees and donut machine were fabulous! So glad that we worked with them!

Working with Elaine Bell was a dream come true. From just a simple online form I filled out, they came up with a wonderful sample menu for me that was the clear standout from others I had received. Right away I could tell that they had the creativity and gourmet palate I was looking for. My contact was Mandy and she was a doll to work with. Being an out of town bride, I did a lot of my planning over the phone and via email, but Mandy was always great about responding quickly. By the time I met her for our tasting, I felt like we were old friends. We did the menu tasting a few months before the wedding and it was wonderful - I highly recommend doing this. We tasted every dish and got to make changes. They even served us a few alternative dishes just in case we didn’t like something and I actually loved one of the alternatives so much I swapped it out for one of my original selections. On the day of the wedding, the staff arrived on time and got straight to work setting up. Everyone looked very professional and the food was exquisite. I served an all vegetarian menu to a crowd of 65 and got nothing but rave reviews, even from the hard core meat lovers. It was that good! I would highly recommend Elaine Bell to any bride.

My fiance and I met each other in Culinary School in San Francisco, & I am a catering chef! So needless to say, the caterer was our most important decision. We shopped around and narrowed it down to 3 caterers. Elaine Bell's proposal though was exactly what we were looking for and the best value. They are a large catering company located in the Napa Valley with 30 years of experience. We were truely won over when we visted their facility for our tasting. We were greeted warmly by our Event Sales Manager Susan and were treated to a 4 person tasting of our entire menu (5 passed apps, 2 meat entrees, 3 side dishes). Elaine (the owner) also stepped out of the kitchen to meet with us, and then offered us a tour of her facility. Their Kitchen is Amazing! Our reception was held at a private residence that we rented, so Elaine Bell provided all the dishes, glassware, flateware, service staff, bar tenders, etc. They also brought all of their own kitchen equipment to cook everything on site, and this made all the difference in the quality of the food. We had passed apps during our cocktail hour (highly reccomend the cauliflower panna cotta), and then a family style meal. The most important thing to us was that the menu was local & seasonal, giving our guests the true experience of Bay Area cuisine. We had the Beet Salad, Chestnut Quinoa, Ratatouille, Mohogany Cedar Salmon, and the Braised Short Rib - all were exceptional (especially the slow smoked Short Rib). Many guests told me it was the best meal they have ever had at a wedding. The service staff was very professional and courteous. We highly reccomend Elaine Bell Catering!

Guests raved: best wedding food they've ever had!

In my experience, the food at weddings is always a bit...average. It fills you up and gives you the energy to stay on the dance floor, but usually is not all that memorable. The food from Elaine Bell, however, is not that food. The comments I heard about the wedding afterwards overwhelmingly contained something about how the food was AMAZING. We served everything family-style and had pasta, salmon, steak, and a kale salad. The pasta was a last-minute addition that Dana, who we worked with, recommended during our tasting; we didn't even taste it and decided to go with it, on her word. Just to illustrate how good it was: we had friends telling us they asked if another bowl could be brought out to their table, because they had already finished the one served to them. Throughout the dinner, Dana would check in with us to see if we wanted anything else and if we did, it was brought out instantly. From our tasting, to questions in between, to the day-of, the professionalism and service of Dana and the rest of the Elaine Bell team was phenomenal. We cannot recommend enough!

We had a great experience with Elaine Bell as the caterer for our destination wedding. Liz was phenomenal and an absolute pleasure to work with. She helped us with every detail and was onsite on the day of the wedding to make sure that everything went smoothly. The food was fantastic, local and fresh. Our guests are still talking about it several months later. Planning a destination wedding can be stressful, but Liz helped to make the process easier. We used Elaine Bell to cater our wedding in Petaluma in October. We found them really easy to work with and responsive to our requests for changes along the way. We checked out several caterers and ended up going to two tastings. Once we tasted the food at Elaine Bell, there was no doubt in our minds that we'd use them for our wedding, even though they were definitely not the least expensive option. The day of, we barely knew they were there! They set up everything perfectly and the staff was very, very professional. The service went so smoothly and the food was delicious. If you want great food, great service, piece of mind, and professionalism, you won't go wrong with Elaine Bell!

Amazing! Elaine Bell was a preferred vendor for our venue, and they came highly recommended by our wedding coordinator. I'm so glad we used them for our wedding--the tasting was incredible, and come the big day, the food was as delicious. All our guests raved about it afterwards. As a side note, they are great with coming up with fabulous "station" menus for untraditional receptions (we didn't have a formal sit-down).

Richard was our contact, and he was great to work with. In regards to the timeliness of their responses, yeah, sometimes they'll take a while to get back to you, but I came to realize that's kind of how all wedding vendors work, especially when it gets to be prime wedding season. Actually, Elaine Bell was one of the few caterers who promptly responded to my emails whereas I never heard from others despite repeated phone calls and emails, and that was also a reason why we were so sold on them.

These guys are nothing but professionals, and I highly recommend Elaine Bell!

Wedding catering is always tricky. I was really worried about getting the dreaded rubber chicken for my destination wedding, especially since I wasn't going to be able to taste any of the food before I signed a contract! The team at Elaine Bell was an absolute dream to work with, however. I had a couple of times where I felt it like to took a long time to get an email response (Due to the time zone differences, most of my communications were in email,) but overall, the team was really flexible and helpful with all of my requests. We had maybe three versions of the menu before we settled on the final, and all of the tweaks they suggested were great! And when the big day finally arrived, the food was fantastic! Everyone raved about how fresh and tasty everything was (And no rubber chicken in sight!) I especially loved the little surprise the staff wrapped up for us at the end of the night. A really charming touch that I don't want to ruin for others!

Excellent food and great service. Guests were very enthusiastic about the food (unusual for a wedding!). Elaine Bell also helped us coordinate all the rentals for our wedding and gave us tips on purchasing alcohol/mixers.

They are the best in Napa Valley hands down there food not only is delicious but beautiful presentation. THey have great customer service I worked with Karli Napp and was very impressed with the constant communication and keeping me in the loop as I was an out of town bride. Working with Jennifer at Elaine Bell in the planning process was easy-peasy. She was very responsive and accommodating, and I was grateful that she made it simple by including all the glassware, flatware, china, and kitchen equipment in the order. The food was excellent (they have a reputation for this and it's a key reason why I hired them) and all my friends have been saying it was the best they've ever had at a wedding. The team onsite was very helpful and I appreciated that one server followed my husband and me around during post-ceremony photos with a plate of appetizers so we could actually enjoy them! There were a couple of minor glitches during the main course with our personalized wine and food pairings and a bit slow service, but if that's the worst that happened on our big day I'd have to say it was still great overall. Finally, I was pleasantly surprised by the gift of a well-stocked picnic bag they sent off with my husband and me to enjoy on our overnight. If you're looking for amazing food and professional service in Napa/Sonoma, I recommend Elaine Bell Catering.

I got married on July 19th 2014 and we used Elaine for the catering.

The food was amazing, pretty much every plate was clean which is always a good sign. More importantly, the level of service from the staff was fantastic, they where very observant and extremely professional at the wedding, for example, they did not clear plates during the speeches.

We were able to sample the food prior to the event which was very helpful in terms of determining the menu.

There are a lot of choices out there but I would highly recommend them

StoneTree provides a beautiful backdrop for any wedding! The grounds are flawless and they provided many options for set up and catering. They were very helpful in making our wedding day amazing!

Elaine Bell's food is amazing, I would rate them a 4.5 out of 5 for food (the tasting was slightly better than the food at our wedding, though creating mass amounts of food is obviously harder than a small tasting amount). I had a few issues with their customer service and their responsiveness.
Our sales person, Emily, was an extraordinarily sweet girl, very enthusiastic and made a great impression on us in our tasting. Her responsiveness made planning a wedding very difficult. Sometimes she would respond within a day, but most of the time it would take 2 weeks or more. I even had to get on the phone with Elaine Bell at one point to request a different sales person because I couldn't be waiting 2 weeks for a reply. They insisted I stay with Emily and her responsiveness improved slightly, but not drastically.
My other complaint would be around the pricing. We kept changing things within our contract and somehow magically the total price would never change, regardless of whether we removed things, the price never budged. Lastly, we did not receive the full equipment we requested, and again, the price still remained the same.
The quality of the servers and the professionalism during the event was superb, I would rate that a 5, but my day to day planning service was disappointing at times.

I have struggled with this review for a long time. There are so many amazing reviews for Elaine Bell and I feel bad telling you that my experience in October 2016 was not very good.

Elaine Bell was the clear choice during the tastings/research phase. We had a great experience and loved our representative, Stephanie.

On the day of our wedding, I felt like maybe we had EB's B-team or C-team. Our appetizers were not even close to what we had at the tasting. For example we had had a smoked duck on a crispy sweet potato pancake with candied mango. On the day of our wedding, it was just a plain potato pancake (not sweet potato) and it was not crispy. There was no candied mango on top. If it was just this, it would obviously be no big deal. However, every single menu item was different in a worse way the entire night. It was so disappointing.

You can argue that a tasting for 2 people is always going to be better than a wedding for 70. What you cannot argue over is the lack of service. When I went to the bar around 9:00, there was no one there. I poured myself a glass of water and left and drank it. When I returned, the bar was still empty and I had to pour myself another glass. I don't know if anyone was working at the bar at all between 9 and 10. The venue coordinator (not a member of the catering staff) started pouring people drinks and she accidentally poured someone a drink in a used glass because she did not know any better! Can you imagine someone not staffing the bar for over an hour of your wedding? This is the experience I had.

There were numerous other small problems with the catering, too many to list. For example no one refilled my water glass during dinner. They also served the wrong wine (we had purchased a couple of bottles extra of a cheap wine from bevmo in case we would we ran out of the good stuff and they served the bevmo wine first even though I had told my rep in an email beforehand and labeled it!)

I had some issue w/Elaine Bell catering...see below. But I have revised my review to warn other couples that they are a HORRIBLE company to deal with. They DO NOT care about their clients and are condescending and rude. Upon discussing the issues we had on our wedding day, we were told we would receive a refund on a portion of the costs. They were slow to respond, never sent the documentation we asked for, then, when Elaine Bell herself got involved, she was smug, rude and condescending. It would have been SO SIMPLE for them to make things right, but the fact that they quibbled with us over a couple hundred dollars on a $8000 bill shows what matter to them.
Be FOREWARNED...

While Elaine Bell came recommended from another venue we were considering, unfortunately their performance was not as professional as we expected. Initial conversations started out great, as was our initial tasting. Overall, the experience w/Elaine Bell was good, not great, not terrible. The food was good, perhaps a little light in quantity. Once we signed our contract, response time took much longer and follow-up was less professional than expected. Ultimately, the big disappointment was the actual event execution. They were not prepared for the day of event, even though we had done a complete walk-through of the event. The team was behind schedule in set-up, and dinner service and worst of all, they RUINED the specialty cocktails we offered at our wedding. We paid extra to have a bartender on staff and the batched cocktails that were undrinkable. Because they used up all the alcohol in the batches, there was no other alcohol to remake the drinks and people could only have wine or beer. Lastly, there were several people at our wedding who tried to talk to the chefs and received rude and curt responses. Again, overall, the experience was not terrible, just not great.
