I cannot say enough great things about Downbeat Louisiana! My husband and I knew Chris before our wedding (best man's wedding & local events), so we already KNEW that they would be an incredible choice for our wedding. Even with those high expectations, they still managed to exceed them in every way.
Throughout the entire planning process, Chris was very responsive, professional, and easy to work with. He made us feel like our wedding was important to them and were always willing to answer questions and help bring our vision to life. One of my favorite personal touches was when I told Chris that I had been a longtime BELIEBER and that despite not having any Justin Bieber on the band's setlist, I would simply DIE if they were able to sing one of his songs at the wedding. I never reached back out to confirm whether they could or not... and what do you know, mid-reception Chris pulls it out as a surprise -- the band has practiced and learned 'Baby' by Justin Bieber. The crowd could not contain themselves - it was a total hit and truly nostalgic.
Downbeat Louisiana absolutely stole the show. They have an incredible ability to read the crowd and keep the energy exactly where it needs to be. Song after song, they had our guests packed onto the dance floor all night long (see pic for proof). The dance floor was never empty, and the atmosphere they created was electric.
They were so good that when the night was supposed to end and we were supposed to make our exit, the entire crowd started begging for an encore! That's the kind of performance they deliver. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the band was, and honestly, they were one of the highlights of the entire wedding.
In fact, they made such an impression that my workplace is now trying to book them for our Christmas party. If you're considering Downbeat Louisiana for your wedding or event, stop looking and book them—you will not be disappointed! -

Downbeat Louisiana—Simply the Best!
Downbeat Louisiana was simply the best choice we could’ve made for our wedding music. Chris is an amazing communicator and made the lead-up to the event (narrowing down the set list, special requests, and general coordination) very smooth; even our planner said she’d never worked with someone as responsive as he is. They accommodated our request for Louis Armstrong’s “La vie en rose” for our first dance, and Chris and the trumpet player made it just perfect. Beyond that beautiful moment, the entire band kept up those good vibes for the entire reception. People were on the dance floor from the moment they picked up their instruments, and we loved how Chris and Jenna (the wonderful female vocalist) interacted with the crowd and got everyone singing along. And in addition to sounding like total pros, Chris was also a great emcee, and nailed the pacing for the reception—no song or moment ever felt like it didn’t match the overall vibe. Our guests can’t stop talking about how much they loved the band and how good they sounded. Thanks so much to Chris, Jenna, and the rest of the band for an unforgettable night! -

Downbeat LA is truly the best in the business! Chris was an incredible point of contact and so easy to work with throughout the entire process. He went above and beyond to make our night perfect, creating a set list and timeline that felt completely personalized to us and even pulling off our crazy requests flawlessly. They kept our guests entertained all night, kept the reception timeline running smoothly, and brought nonstop energy and interaction with the crowd until the very last song — and our reception went until midnight! Our guests are still raving about how great the band was! Even after the wedding, the experience didn’t stop there. Chris followed up with us, shared social media posts, and sent over all the videos they captured from the night. We truly could not recommend them more! -

01.03.26 - WEDDING
I don’t even know where to start — the communication, how they catered to us, they even helped with our timeline. If you’re questioning which band to go with, DON’T. I’ve probably said it 25 times already, and I’ll scream it from the rooftops: I would spend all the money in the world to have Downbeat Louisiana play at our wedding again. Our guests even talked my mom into paying for an extra hour because no one wanted to leave. Seriously, I cannot recommend them enough -

We booked Downbeat for our wedding reception at Capitol Park Museum and we are so glad we did! Every musician in the band is amazing. The videos online do not do this band justice. You have to see them in person! They know how to keep the dance floor packed and are just the right amount of interactive. All of our guests are still raving about Downbeat a month later!
Not only is the band great, but Chris is EXTREMELY easy to work with! He was very responsive and helpful throughout the whole planning process. Weddings are stressful, but booking Downbeat is the most stress-free thing you will do. We discussed our taste in music prior to the wedding and he was able to create a perfect set list that made everyone happy! They even worked with us last minute to do a second line due to a new noise ordinance in the area and it was perfect! If you are booking a wedding or event, Downbeat is THE band! -

RUN, don't walk!
Do not walk, RUN! Hands down the best decision we made for our wedding was booking Downbeat for our wedding band. We got married on 4/26/25 and have recieved nothing but compliments from our guest of all ages. They exceeded our expectations, and we did not want the night or music to end! I cannot recommend them enough. They communicated very well with me and the wedding planners prior to the wedding and made any announcements requested at the reception. Chris also sang our first dance song which was a 10/10 phenomenal performance and so special and memorable! You will not regret booking with them! -

Truly the best wedding band. We had our wedding on 3/8/25 and everyone had a blast and could not stop raving about the band! They interact constantly with the dance floor, making sure all guests are having fun. They allowed me to share the mic and stage (maybe one too many times). Chris is very easy to work with and Vegas has the essence of an angel. Cannot recommend them enough!! -

My husband and I got married January 3, 2025 and booked Chris and his band Downbeat Louisiana to play at our reception. This insanely talented group of musicians and the atmosphere they created had our guests talking about the reception for days following the wedding. They kept the dance floor packed and made our night one that we will never forget.
What really set them apart, though, was their professionalism and commitment to making our wedding day unforgettable. Chris communicated with us well ahead of time, was flexible with our timeline, and even took requests from our guests. He made sure everything went smoothly, and his positive energy helped create an atmosphere of joy and celebration that we will remember for a lifetime.
We had guests of all ages, and everyone was raving about how great the music was—whether they were on the dance floor or simply enjoying the beautiful background music during dinner. Chris and his band truly helped set the tone for an evening filled with love, laughter, and dancing.

Book them! Downbeat Louisiana was the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! They brought the party, engaged in all of our guests, and brought memories that will last forever. Every single guest we’ve talked to has mentioned how amazing Chris and his crew were for the wedding. They are all insanely talented musicians and brought the house down with their sick tunes and beautiful harmonies. This is your sign to book Downbeat ASAP! Also I’ve never seen my family dance as much (or as hard) as they did the night of our wedding. Thank you guys!!!

DON’T HESITATE! Honestly, when searching for a band, Downbeat wasn’t the cheapest option. I got quotes from a bunch of different bands that had a lower price point, but something about the audio and videos I watched stood out to me. Their social media presence also showed they knew how to keep a party going and had so much energy. Let me tell you, they exceeded every expectation! From the moment they started playing, the dance floor was packed, and the vibe they brought was unmatched. I get stressed out pretty easily, but Chris made me feel at ease throughout the entire process! He was such a pleasure to work with. Our guests are still raving about how incredible the band was. Quality matters, and the talent/performance Downbeat Louisiana put on display was worth every dollar spent! -

Where do I even start?! First of all, Chris is an amazing communicator. He really went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly the way we wanted! Second, the energy that downbeat brings to any party is unmatched. I have had so many guests tell me that our wedding was so much fun because of how interactive and high energy the band was! Chris, Elise, and the rest of the band truly seemed like they were having fun and that made everyone follow suit. Seriously the best party of our freaking lives!!! Would book them again in a heartbeat! -
