    Beautiful venue and Beautiful people

    My now wife went in person to visit various venue locations. I desired to have a water front wedding ceremony, and there were various options at the time. What really sold us on the DoubleTree by Hilton was the professionalism portrayed by Barbara Tyler (Sales Manager), the head catering, head chef, and hotel management. We knew we were in good hands with Barbara as she was straight forward with us, very responsive to our questions, and timing on logistics with both us and our wedding coordinator.

    We were able to have the water front ceremony desired. What was magical is that during the ceremony, two dolphins were uniting in the background and it was caught on camera. Turns out dolphins are my wife's favorite animal. The outdoor site was well prepared after experiencing a brush with hurricane Helene. We were blessed that our wedding dodged the traumatic impact the hurricane Milton left when it impacted the hotel just after our wedding.

    Up front with the tasting, the head chef and management came out to meet us as we tried to various dishes. The food then and at the reception was exquisite and delightful.

    On the weekend of our magical event, Barbara caught up with us to make sure things were going as expected and worked quite well with our coordinator. The staff was fantastic in and out of the reception. Between the hotel, coordinator, and our master of ceremony (DJ), our reception was epic! I am not quite sure they were ready for such a nerdy couple to have such as bombastic reception and four grown adults switch from wedding attire to cosplay.

    The fact that most of the attendants said it was the most fun wedding they ever attends speaks more words than we can portray in this review. We highly recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton.

    Amazing experience with our wedding

    We had an amazing time with Adrian Robbins the events director. Everything was thoughtful and planned out. We weren’t from Florida so we had to travel and tour the venue prior which we did 3 months before our wedding and it was amazing. She was incredibly kind and really gave our guests an amazing experience. Everything was extremely affordable. Our guests are still talking about the wedding a year later.

    These guys were awesome! Despite a change in sales/catering staff mid-planning, our event went off without a hitch! Teresa and Erin were great to work with, as were all of the staff at the DoubleTree. The food was better than at our tasting, and the location is picturesque - great bay background as the sun was starting to set. The staff kept things moving at just the right speed and made sure we didn’t have to worry about a thing on wedding day! One thing for couples to keep in mind is the uplighting. If you’re going to use uplighting, make sure you have enough cord length to get your lights in the right spots. While there are a number of receptacles throughout the tent, they’re spaced out just enough that you may need a couple of extension cords to get your lights in just the right spots. The tent is awesome, the setting was perfect, and our wedding was just as we’d hoped it would be!

    Edward Jones went out of his way on several occasions to make sure we were taken care of. He was very attentive to my 86 year old Aunt (Grandmother of the Groom). Also the waiter Maurice was very good, even bringing me soup out by the pool where our family was congregating.

    The people here could not have been nicer from checking in to the wedding coordinator. Anything we asked for was taken care of with in a very pleasant and professional way. We would highly recommend this place for any occasion.

    I cannot say enough about this stunning venue. At first glance, it seems more corporate but it is so much more. Everything about the rehearsal,ceremony,cocktail hour and reception was top notch. The ceremony venue is spectacular and we had the pleasure of dolphins joining us for our vows! The food was delicious and the bartender was friendly and interacted with the guests ! Kelly C.,Kelly W. and Theresa are amazing and pay attention to every detail. They were able to accommodate us and our guests with minimal notice and went above and beyond at all times.They assisted with linen vendors and were prompt with every response. They worked as a team and were with us throughout the process. The day of Kelly W. and Theresa really ensured everything went smoothly. The hotel offers great outdoor photo locations , including waterfront and a beautiful park within walking distance.The entire staff was kind and guests complimented every staff member they had interaction with. I cannot recommend this venue enough. Thank you for helping with the wedding of our dreams!!!

    We can not recommend a venue any more than the Hilton Doubletree Rocky Point! First of all, the venue itself is top-notch, especially for a small gathering! The service was outstanding, from Kelly, who answered every question almost as soon as we sent one, to the bartender and staff, who were quick to help with anything we asked. Location: Fantastic! And the price...wow! While many venues in the area charge tax on top of tax, Doubletree Rocky Point does not beat around the bush; taxes are included in the quote. What you see is what you get. All of the factors above sold the property to us, but what really put it over the top for us was the actual day itself. We took advantage of a sangria bar offered to us for promotional purposes, and it became a hit. Seemed every one of our guests raved about that, as well as the quality of food, which was tremendous! All in all, you cannot go wrong with hosting your wedding, or any other event, at Doubletree Rocky Point.

    My experience with Doubletree is always excellent! The staff is the best I have seen, they really make you fell like family.
    The event came out beautiful. The staff was very responsive and catered to all of our needs.
    If you are looking for a hotel in Tampa, look no further... this is the best of the best!

    I had my wedding here Nov 4, 2016. KELLY WAS FABULOUS!!! She was very responsive, she helped me from start to finish, she answered my questions no matter how many times I asked the same thing. She was with us from set through the service. I can't give her enough praise. She was personable, professional, and respectable. I would come to this venue again and definitely work with Kelly again!!!! My whole family loved her. Thank you Doubletree. My wedding was beautiful!!! Price was great and good was good. I'd do it all over again.

    We had our wedding hotel block here, and the service was great! All of the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Linda was very responsive and provided great service.

    We had the pleasure of booking our event with Kelly Whalen. She was outstanding. She went over and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and was so easy to work with. Her attention to detail and professionalism far exceeded any other vender we have ever dealt with. The food was exceptional and everyone had a great time thanks to Kelly. The hotel is beautiful and we were able to book a very large block of rooms for our guests. Everyone loved the property and all our guests were treated so kindly by all of the staff at the hotel. It's location to the airport, downtown and beaches was perfect. They provided local transportation which helped so much with our out of town guests. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

    I couldn't be happier with our decision to have our wedding at the doubletree rocky point. Our coordinator Kelly was AMAZING to work with and without her I would have been in serious trouble. She was able to create our perfect day, leaving me at ease before and during the wedding. The staff were all amazing (and so accommodating!) and our wedding magically went off without a hitch! everyone has told us its the best wedding they've ever been to, and I honestly could have never imagined how beautiful and easy everything was. The view, food, drinks and experience was awesome. Our wedding was beyond all of my dreams, and it would have never been possible anywhere else. I would not have done anything differently, and will forever be grateful to Kelly and the rest of the DoubleTree team for giving us such an incredible day to remember for the rest of our lives

    Linda Urban , Kelly Whalen from Sales were excellent and a pleasure to deal with especially overcoming the obstacles of distance when making the arrangements for the dinner on 5/13/16..
    JustIn Edmunds from food service solved a problem with catered the event quickly with excellent service .
    Kenny the bartender at our catered event on 5/13 was outstanding in serving our guests .
    Patti Knoell on midnight shift went above an beyond to help our group continue a reunion of classmates an friends of my Son who had not been together for 5 years by allowing use of a room where they could enjoy conversation without disrupting other guests. A nice gesture as two of them are in the military an stationed abroad and not had contact with the group..
    Doug Ritichie from accounting who helped resolve accounting for the many rooms that I had billed to me.
    The shuttle drivers who transported our wedding guests to an from many outings .

    I celebrated my 50th birthday party and all my guests raved of how the food, and bartender and servers were so pleasant and courteous, and how everything was so planned and went according to plan. Everything was beautiful, Kelly was awesome thru out the whole process on coordinating everything and even was there to help when some guests flights were delays causing them to have to check in early and she made it possible to have them accommodated. I would highly recommend this establishment for any event.

    Kelly was extremely friendly & answered all questions quickly she made the event flawless. The entire staff was attentive & treated all of our guests wonderfully .we couldn't have asked for a nicer venue our wedding was perfect. If you are looking for a beautiful location with great food & a hotel for guests this is the place. Highly recommend for us.

    We had the incredible opportunity of recently having our daughter and new son-in-law's (Sherra & Don) wedding at this wonderful hotel! I would run out of space if I shared all of the great things about the staff and the property My daughter and I visited numerous properties in the Tampa Bay area, and none of them felt like the right fit...until we visited the Doubletree and met Kelly Whalen; who is the best event coordinator-hands down! Over the many months, she was there for us every step of the way, promptly answering each email, any question, large or small. She worked closely with us to customize a package that perfectly met our needs. She did so many behind the scenes for us that were greatly appreciated. This is a perfect location if you have out of town guests, or you're looking for a destination wedding spot. They have everything - location, on the water, sunset, and if you watch closely - dolphins! The complimentary shuttle provides transportation to and from the airport, and nearby restaurants and malls for all guests. The banquet staff, the front desk staff, the shuttle drivers,the bartender at the reception, even the lady that brought the roll away bed to our room - they were all top notch and went out of their way to make this one of the most memorable occasions of our lives. The food was great, both at the rehearsal dinner and the reception - esp the boneless short ribs of beef. We had a number of out of town guests, and they are still saying wonderful things about the wedding, hotel property, the comfort of the hotel suites, the view of the bay, and the staff! And if all of that wasn't enough, if you're a Hilton Honors member, you get points for having your event there!

    Now that the dust has had a chance to settle, my wife and I have had plenty of opportunity to relive the wedding among ourselves and a lot of our guests. We would have nothing but good things to say about the event, the venue and especially our coordinator and her staff plus the weather cooperated. The Doubletree allowed us to stay within our budget and still put on a top shelf wedding that our daughter was more than pleased with which, of course, makes us very happy. As each decision came up, no matter if it was the menu, the bar or the venue, our coordinator had good solutions. And our coordinator was the calming force when we had our last minute snafu with the flowers, etc. It showed she cares about these events. The Doubletree was a great value and the staff could not have been nicer or more cooperative. A big thumbs up from this Dad!

    Kelly is so amazing and was so great to work with! She made my whole wedding planning process so easy and enjoyable. I can tell that she truly loves her job and it shows. I would recommend anyone to have their wedding at The Doubletree. It is a beautiful venue at a reasonable price!

    The venue is perfect and the staff are fantastic. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. Anything we asked for was fine. Kelly Whalen was amazing, she worked hard to coordinate everything for us. Also, Edward was fantastic. He made sure our families were well taken care of all weekend, not just during the ceremony/reception. Also, I think William was the bartender for the rehearsal dinner and cocktail hour and reception. He was amazing too! He talked to us about some fancy drink options during the rehearsal and brought some berries and fixings for those to the reception - and they were delicious!

    We had everything at this location, the rehearsal dinner on a Friday night, then the ceremony the next day on the lawn, cocktail hour by the pool, and reception in the permanent outdoor tent. We had a lot of out of town guests, and this location was exactly what we were looking for and allowed us to have a ceremony on the water, without a long distance/wait to the the cocktail hour and reception. The facility is beautiful and everything was even more beautiful than I imagined it would be. The ceremony on the lawn was perfect. A storm was brewing behind us, the clouds and sky were stunning, dragonflies were flying around and dolphins were swimming around - all while we exchanged our vows. What could be better? We did have a little drizzle during the cocktail hour. The guests found cover under the umbrellas and canopy by the pool. We heard the appetizers were great. Then we had our reception in the tent. The AC in the tent was definitely helpful, it was a hot night! The food was amazing. Our tasting was good, but the food on the day of the event was even better - our guests are still raving about the meat (filet mignon).

    DoubleTree has a lot of options for packages, and will customize anything you'd like to change/add. Kelly has been doing this for a long time and had lots of great advice! We want to come back for a redo next year!

    Linda our events coordinator was great in setting up our rooming block for all our out of town guests. The reservation and check in process went very smooth and everyone was able to enjoy our wedding weekend!

    I had my wedding, reception and rehearsal here. It was hands down the best experience. Kelly {the event coordinator} was totally flexible with me changing my mind every other week and open to all my crazy ideas of things I wanted done. Emails were always responded to in a timely manner even when she was out of town. I did not have to set up anything except my center pieces and the few things I D.I.Y.ed by myself. Set up and take down was handled by staff and was done BEAUTIFULLY. The food was INCREDIBLE and my guests are still talking about it a week later when I talk to them. My husband and I couldn't be more happy with the services we received at this venue. If I had to do my wedding again I would do it here every time. It's a beautiful location, many options of where to have ceremony or reception and an AMAZING staff.

    Kelly Whalen at the Double Tree Suites by Hilton Tampa Bay, as well as all the staff at this hotel were phenomenal! Kelly was very prompt with emails, and making time to meet with me, as well as meeting with my fiance'! After several meetings with other vendors, I was starting to feel that I would not find a venue in my price range, and when I called she completely renewed my wedding planning happiness. From the time we met, I felt comfortable, and knew this was the correct place for all our wedding needs. As soon as we checked in, she made sure everything ran smoothly and was great about helping with making sure our DIY decor looked perfect for the evening. We had both our rehearsal dinner, and wedding at the hotel. The outdoor wedding ceremony site, gave me the beach-like wedding that I wanted, without the sand. Cocktail hour was held by the pool while we quickly had photographs, and then we had our reception in the tent. The food was delicious for both our rehearsal and reception, staff members were very attentive to the needs of myself and my new husband during our whole stay. Kelly and the hotel staff made our day perfect, and I would recommend this venue for your wedding and rehearsal needs!

    We looked at a bunch of venues in Tampa but ended up booking DoubleTree right away. They were perfect for what we were looking for and for the number of people we wanted for our wedding (around 100). Just like everyone else has mentioned, Kelly Whalen was phenomenal. Working with her was fantastic and she was so incredibly helpful and kind. No matter how many times we emailed her asking her questions she always responded promptly and was always professional. She made our experience so nice and worry free.

    Our wedding ceremony was on the back lawn by the water, cocktails by the pool, and reception in the tent. When it rained, everyone was flexible and on top of moving things around. We had a photobooth and bar outside by the pool and had lots of room for our guests inside the tent with the buffet set up. My DJ had plenty of room as well. All of the staff were fantastic, rooms were nice (many compliments on the rooms and the views), conference suit was perfect for getting ready with all the girls and with hair and makeup, little treats were left for us in our room by staff...everything was perfect. The only issue we encountered was with open bar. Towards the end of the night, they started running low on some drinks but it wasn't a huge issue, just something to mention. Food was great!! I would definitely recommend this venue for someone looking for an all-in-one package deal with a guest count around 100 (if you want dancing). Groom, Bride(me), and guests were very satisfied.

The hotel rooms are huge and for those guests who're traveling, the hotel shuttle takes you right to the airport. Everything was very convenient! The food was absolutely delicious (there was nothing left at the buffet)! You really can't beat the price for what you get at the Doubletree. The hotel rooms are huge and for those guests who're traveling, the hotel shuttle takes you right to the airport. Everything was very convenient! If you're looking for a wedding venue then look no further! The Doubletree is perfect!

    Kelly was the best as far as answering questions and helping me coordinate everything with other vendors. I had guests asking me how much it would cost if they wanted to have a wedding there. It was worth every penny to have our wedding at the DoubleTree by Hilton and I was very glad we could room all of our guests at the hotel.

    Kelly is an amazing asset to the Hilton team!!!! I never stressed about a thing during the planning and day of for our wedding. She always responded quickly to my phone calls and emails and was so flexible with our work schedules. The food and presentation were amazing!!! Chef even made a special accommodations for two of our guests that had food allergies. Our experience with Kelly and her team was flawless from start to finish. Thank you so much for everything!! Our day was so perfect in every way...thanks for all that you did to make that happen!!

    Kelly Whalen at the DoubleTree Suites on Rocky Point Drive was wonderful to work with. To say the least, hers was a voice of calm in my hectic planning of a wedding in a mere three weeks. I was grateful for her suggestions, some I incorporated and some were launching points for what I decided to do. Frankie was very helpful in setting up the venue, both the ceremony and the reception area. The staff at the reception were observant and helpful to create an evening enjoyed by all. The chef and his staff provided excellent food. I am thankful I choose this hotel as the venue for my daughter's wedding.

    Kelly Whelan was very helpful in helping us coordinate our Holiday Party on such short notice and was very accommodating to our constant changes. We had a theme party and she worked with the chef to make everything as we requested. The venue looked great and the food and service were wonderful.

    This was our office Holiday Party. Kelly Whalen went out her way to ensure all our needs were met. The venue looked great and I heard lots of positive comments from attendees on how good the food was. We had a great time! This was my first experience with both Kelly and the hotel and I am looking forward to our next event in May!

    The entire team and staff that assisted with our wedding did a fantastic job. We are so happy with our decision in choosing you guys. Kelly Whalen is such a great asset to the company. She is such a pleasure to work with, her attention to detail and follow up was always on point.     I enjoyed my stay at doubletree. The staff was very respectful and helpful. The catering manager, Kelly, did a fantastic job of setting up everything I needed to start my wedding weekend off perfectly. I purchased the morning of mimosas and breakfast, it was timely and fresh. The rooms are very spacious. I chose to pay a little more and rent an executive/king suite, there was a very large table with chairs that was the perfect "get-ready room" for all of day of coordination. All services were executed without error.

    What an amazing time we had at your hotel. We were there for our son’s wedding and over one hundred of our friends and family stayed at your hotel. The rooms were wonderful. The staff was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. The views were breathtaking, and the food was delicious. Jessica, who helped us with the banquet items, could not have been nicer. She helped plan our events which included a Friday night cocktail party and Sunday morning brunch. The accommodations for both of these events were wonderful and we could not be happier. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to stay with family and friends.

    Kelly Whalen made the planning of our wedding so enjoyable, she was there to help us every step of the way and was beyond professional. The day went so wonderfully well and smoothly thanks to her and her great staff. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. It was a day we will never forget thanks to the great staff at The DoubleTree.
    We can't wait to come back to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. Again, Thank You Kelly, your an absolute star and made our dreams a reality.

    We chose this location because of it's proximity to our wedding venue. We stayed in an executive suite and was surprised by how big it was. It easily accommodated 8 bridesmaids, having hair and makeup done. The room was very clean and had a nice view of the bay. Everyone in our room block was also very happy with their room also. The staff also "freshened" the room while we were at our reception, this was a nice touch. Many thanks to Teresa Gentile and her staff!!

    The Doubletree Suites was a great place for me and my bridal party to get ready. The room was a perfect size for all of us to change, get our hair and make-up done and to lounge about before the wedding. The room even had a great view. We saw dolphins as we prepped!

    ITT Technical Institute had an amazing time at our Holiday Party in 2013. Kelly was an awesome catering manager and she was very accessible and helpful at all times. She was easy to talk to and she was great at helping out company decided on the best options for our needs. The event staff the night of the event was absolutely amazing as well. They were there to assist in any way possible and they took a lot of the stress and responsibility off my shoulders. I wish I could take them with me to every event. If I could point out one area for improvement it would be in hotel renovations. When I initially spoke with Kelly regarding hosting the Holiday Party at the Double Tree she stated that all renovations would be complete by the day of the party. I was not notified that the renovations would be taking longer than expected and I was a bit disappointed to arrive the day of the event to find construction going on. I would have liked to have seen a bit more communication in regards to that. I will say that once I brought my concerns to Kelly's attention she did do everything in her power to help our guest navigate through the construction so her efforts were greatly appreciated. Overall our experience with The Double Tree was pleasant and I would recommend them to our business partners.

    We had our rehearsal dinner at the Doubletree, as we were staying at the hotel to get married at a nearby venue. We had the dinner in the outside tent by the pool, and it was absolutely wonderful. I was skeptical of how nice it would be as the hotel was undergoing construction at the time, but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful our stay and the dinner was. The dinner itself was setup beautifully, the food was excellent and the staff was attentive and very professional. Everyone in my party commented on how wonderful the dinner was, and how great the hotel rooms were. I would recommend the Doubletree to anyone planning an event as the individualized attention and service was excellent.

    Don't be fooled by the outdated lobby...the rooms in this hotel are incredible. Especially for a wedding event where people want to have space to socialize. We held a welcome party versus rehersal dinner outside at the pool. Heavy appetizers were delicious and the setup was very nice. Beautiful sunset and a natural place to hang out. Had some significant difficulties with the group website for booking and if your guests book through Hilton honors or outside your block time you will not have visibility on who is with your party. Overall a nice experience just a few things off. Also some issues with transportation to include the shuttle that was supposed to be available after the reception not picking up. Fortunately, a shuttle from another hotel was gracious and saved the evening for the dance weary feet from our event at the Rusty Pelican.

    Terrible Experience

    We wanted a venue that offered an outdoor ceremony & waterside reception so we picked this venue. 8 months prior to our wedding our family drove around the venue & overheard that the reception tent was going under construction. Unfortunately, this was not communicated to us. The venue assured us that construction would start in Aug & finish in Sept (our wedding was not until mid-Nov so we had no issues). On Aug 1st we confirmed with Erin C. that everything was on schedule. So we set-up our food tasting for the end of Sept & had our groom’s mom fly in so she could see the new reception tent. Upon our arrival, we see that the OLD tent is still up & NO updates have been made. We were in shock as NO ONE communicated the 2 MONTH delay in construction. We were concerned as they mentioned that the new completion date was now Nov 1st (~2 weeks before our wedding). We had talks with the venue & their GM as we had serious concerns that the tent would not be finished & we were unhappy with the communication. We asked for daily updates & to find a suitable back-up venue. In Oct we continued to get updates, however, they eventually stopped looking for back-up options as they were “150% certain” & “guaranteed” we would be in the new tent. In Oct we asked them if there was any chance that there would be inspection issues & they said no. Well, 11 DAYS before our wedding we received a phone call from them informing us that they WOULD NOT be able to hold our wedding in their tent due to the inspection. Prior to this point the venue refused to release their construction timeline to us so we had no knowledge that the inspection was not already complete. We were devastated & again, my parents took time off work & drove to the venue to figure out alternative options. Although we were able to find a new venue (The Godfrey Hotel who did a fabulous job) we were provided no monetary compensation other than a free night in the hotel to cover the stress, time-off work, invites, decorations & countless items that we spent money on that could not be used. The Doubletree made our wedding process very stressful & I would recommend to avoid using this venue. We also had issues getting rooms added to our block & with the event timeline. Another reason we chose this venue was because there was no event time limit. In Aug I emailed Erin to confirm the timeline of events before I made the invitations. Erin confirmed that she was okay with the timeline I proposed & she actually suggested the ceremony time so I made/sent the invites. 2 months later, at the food tasting, Erin mentioned the wrong time for our event. Upon correcting her, she informed us that we will have to push the ceremony back an hour because of a 5 hour event limit. Given that there was no event limit mentioned in our contract or to us, invites with the time were already sent, & as she picked the ceremony time we fought back & they abandoned the time limit they tried to impose 2 months before the wedding. Additionally, getting rooms added to our block was extremely painful. I found myself consistently checking the room block & having to email them to add rooms when I saw that it was full or when guests contacted me with issues. I figured that this would be monitored by the venue but it was not. All in all, we were disappointed in the communication & lack of coordination provided by the Doubletree. Even 11 days prior to the wedding we still had not received a layout of the reception area.
