    Great place, great location

    I love the place, even though it was out of our budget. It is a beautiful location and friendly tour guide

    The DoubleTree was very flexible to meet the needs for our wedding ceremony and reception. Their staff provided outstanding services. Karen Xie was our event coordinator. She was very professional and was always available to answer any of our question via email, phone, and in person.

    After searching and searching for the perfect wedding venue that was both beautiful, and within our budget, we came across the DoubleTree Hotel in Monrovia. It was recently upgraded with a very modern decor that made it a little gem in the San Gabriel Valley. I can't thank the venue coordinator, Elvia, enough. She was fantastic! She answered all our questions, made sure we stayed within our budget, and made sure that everything went as planned. Everything was beautiful and couldn't be more happy with the way things turned out. All the unlimited DB cookies were an added plus.

    I was so glad that I picked this hotel as my venue because Elvia was such a joy to work with. She's always quick to response to my emails and all my random questions. She is also very flexible with all my last minute changes. I got screwed by the MC the night before wedding with the slideshow, after telling Elvia my situation she was able to reassure me that she will make it happen no matter what. She also surprised me by decorating my sweetheart table with the linen that I always wanted but couldn't afford. She didn't have to do that but she did and it made me the happiest bride ever! Everyone from the catering department was nice throughout the night. The food also was pretty good. All my guests said that they didn't expect to taste good food at a wedding but they did at mine. Elvia also upgraded my napkins to these beautiful satin ones as a surprise. She really is the best!!!

    My wedding was everything I had hoped and imagined it to be. Karen and her staff are amazing! She worked with us on every request we made and was flexible in dealing with our budget. She was very prompt in answering my calls and emails. The day of the wedding flowed smoothly. Everything was perfect!

    Great Venue

    The entire staff at Doubletree were excellent, our coordinator Yelena was awesome! the whole way through the planning process and the day of the wedding as well.

    Mother in law

    Overall good experience. The staff were very helpful to accommodate our needs. The only regret is the prime rib. Some cuts are big but part well done, and part rare. Maybe they can be cut them to smaller portion so the guests can choose their preference.

    The Doubletree was a beautiful venue for our wedding reception! The hotel doesn't look like much on the outside but the interior is designed in an edgy, Asian-inspired, ultra-modern, luxurious style. The ball room was elegant and classy with enough room for up to 350 guests. Veronica, the catering manager, was very helpful and pleasant to work with throughout the planning process. She responded to our frequent emails very promptly which was increasingly important as the day of our event grew nearer. She was flexible and worked with our budget even though their standard wedding package was out of our reach. The Elements restaurant in the hotel which caters the food was excellent. The food was expertly prepared, the portions were satisfying, and the chef gladly made minor adjustments that we requested. During the night of our event Veronica oversaw the beginning of our reception herself and later left another supervisor on hand to assist us with anything we needed. The staff were all very helpful and professional, we hardly noticed them at all. A word to budget conscious couples: holding your event on a Friday or Sunday is the way to have the reception of your dreams without getting into debt.

    It was an average experience!

    I enjoyed working with the team. The few downfall was the communication aspect when they hired on a new events manager. We met up with her, provided her with our comments and requested changes for the menu, but at the end, it was not relayed to the chef. We payed a second tasting fee but we only got to try some dishes and not the full set of courses as we had thought. And the food for the course meal was not up to par. During our event, the food came out at an extremely slow pace. We were extremely disappointed because some of the dishes were very salty.

    Other than that, the location was perfect and it accommodates the right amount of guests for our wedding.

    Don't Book Here!

    So I recently had my wedding at the end of January and let's just say I had the worse experience ever when it came close to my wedding date.So back in 2017, I decided to book the DoubleTree for my wedding. The sole purpose we booked here was because it met the needs that I wanted in a venue. I wanted a location close to home, the package they offered was at my price range and they allowed hard liquor to be on the table. BOY I WAS WRONG! Things started to go down hill two weeks before the big day.THEY WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR AND CHANGE THINGS BEFORE THE WEDDING AND EVEN ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING RIGHT UNDER YOUR NOSE! In the beginning we were working with Danielle who no longer works there. But she was such a great person who genuinely cared for the people who she was working with. She responded to any of my concerns in a timely manner but as soon as she left and we were in the hands of the hotel, director name Gaby and our new coordinator name Yelena (who hopped on board 3 weeks before my wedding). Before Danielle left, she made sure that we finzalized everything we needed that needed to be on the contract, down to the final details of the wedding.Weeks before my wedding we were told that our alcohol was an issue. Stating that we could not have the bottles on the table.(Mind you that before we booked in 2017 it was approved by the General Manager, Matthew,it was on our signed contract in black and white.Not only that I've been to an event in the past at the hotel where alcohol was on the table and was self served) I wouldn't have booked this place if this wasn't okay. So when Danielle said that Matthew had given the okay, that's when we booked. But tell me why it was an issue two weeks before my wedding?Not only that they were going against our contract.Even on the day before the wedding it was still an issue after we made a compromise with Gaby when she was assisting me until Yelena jumped on board. I even have emails stating the compromise that Gaby and I agreed on.So the day before the wedding, I was told by Yelena that we couldn't have the bottles on the table BECAUSE THE SERVERS WERE TOO BUSY AND THAT THEY DIDNT HAVE TIME TO SERVE.My husband and I were beyond frustrated because we kept hearing so many different answers and alternatives that were forced down our throat.When we spoke to Matthew, he kept apologizing and gave us two alternatives. One they refunded our money for the alcohol or we have it yet served as a signature drink at the bar.We spoke to Matthew for quite a while and came down to a compromise where the bottle will be on the table but as soon as the bottle is opened that a server who is assigned to that table will serve the alcohol.One thing that Matthew told us that no other venue would allow to have bottles of alcohol on the table even if there were minors attending. That comment upset me because I've been to multiple weddings that allow alcohol bottles on the table.Wedding day: This is were it gets interesting. I arrived to the hotel at 8am and Yelena was no where to be found. As I get ready for the big day, Gaby the director came in to check up on me around 10am after that I pretty much didn't see them until 2 hours before I say I Do. Reception: As I did my grand entrance, there was no bottles of alcohol nor the two liters of soda on the table. (Mind you that the two liters of soda was also on the contract to be on the table) So that was something they also breached on my contract. No servers as promised was serving my guest.Matthew tell me why you promised a great experience when it was hell for my guest after we discussed that you had a server assigned to each table??? what kind of customer service is that? The worse part of it all, is that we purchased Hennessey VSOP for each table and what was served was Hennessey VS. We were ROBBED OF OUR MONEY AND ALCOHOL. What pissed me off even more was that I had to deal with this situation during my honeymoon.The only thing good about this venue was the food.I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
