    Let me just say AMAZING! What a pleasure to work with such a sweet and top notch person. Edna was the best person from beginning to end. We had several guest and wedding party to stay in the hotel for the week. The stay was great. The hotel ballroom and amenities were worth the inclusive pricing. The food was great! The soux chef Jacinda was outstanding. Everyone from the front desk who was the best with organizing the gift baskets, to room service, to valet, our room block coordinator and Edna Valdes who is the best social catering manager ever!

    Booked our wedding block here and they did an exceptional job handling our large amount of guests! They also put me in the presidential suite the day before the wedding and the evening after the wedding for me and my room! At no additional charge to top it off!! They let all of us check in early as well to meet our tight schedule. It was a pleasure working with Lesley Close at Doubletree and I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

    Edna is simply amazing!! Not to be so biased but I had the most BEAUTIFUL wedding reception!!! Thank you Edna for going above and beyond! My guests could not stop talking about it and I can't get over it. Thank you.

    We used the Doubletree Greenway Plaza for our wedding reception and hotel room block.

    Positives:
    The Doubletree is a beautiful venue. We were in the Greenway Ballroom for dinner and dancing and the adjacent rooms and lobby for cocktail hour. Edna, the coordinator, was very helpful in ensuring that the set up and timeline matched what we were looking for. It was sometimes hard to reach her by email and phone though.

    We had a great experience at our food tasting. The chef allowed us to try a bunch of different options and work with us to create a needed gluten-free option for several of our guests. Everyone really enjoyed the food night of.

    The bar manager was great. He met with us the week before our wedding to design signature cocktails. He was really creative and the suggestions he had were delicious. People were commenting on the signature drinks all night and after the wedding as well!

    Because we had so many rooms in our room block, we were given a hospitality suite to use as a meeting location for all of our guests throughout the weekend. This was a huge success.

    The meeting rooms where we got ready with the bridal party were really nice. They had a sink and mini fridge, a lot of windows, and they brought in mirrors, chairs, and water for us.

    We stayed in the bridal suite the night of our wedding. It was nice but nothing spectacular. They had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne waiting for us.

    Part 2 of previous review (ran out of space!)

    Needs improvement:
    The staff was very attentive to us during dinner- to the point that they were too attentive. While the speeches were happening and we are watching our slideshow, the staff are constantly interrupting us to see if we needed anything (what we needed was for them to stop interrupting so we could enjoy the special moments we had in waiting for). We would have loved for the staff to been attentive to us during cocktail hour. Neither of us received any passed hors d’oeuvres. It is very challenging as the bride and groom to move around during cocktail hour, and it would have been really appreciated if the staff had thought about or if they had put together a plate for us that we could have eaten right at the very beginning.

    Lighting was an issue throughout a good part of the reception. We specifically did not want to very dark, so the lights are relatively bright. At certain times, the lights flickered on and off. My mom and I told the manager to keep everybody away from the lights and to just leave them as is. A few minutes later I walked in to the ballroom, and the lights were completely out.

    I was really disappointed to find that the bartenders had removed my signature drink and favor signs from the bar more than an hour before the end of the reception. I got them to put them back, but I think it is very unprofessional to clean up from an event before it has ended. If they were out of the signature drinks, the signs were double-sided picture frames that had pictures on the other side that easily could have been turned around and displayed.

    The day before our wedding, many of our guests were at the hotel pool ordering drinks that had a posted special price. A couple of them told us that they were being charged full price (more than doubled and advertised) for the drink.

    I fell in love with the ballroomon the 20th floor it is absolutely gorgeous and has a beautiful view but it ended up costing so much more than we agreed to! First of all, they gave me a menu with a certian price and once we selected what we wanted they informed us they had to add more money per person to the menu price (this is after I already signed the contract and also put down the down payment!!) Then they told me they wouldn't charge for the ceremony and instead would charge for the chair covers and they ended up charging us for both the chair covers and ceremony!! MAKE SURE YOU GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING IN THE CONTRACT do not trust them at allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. And then our reception ran an hour late because they had someone filming the room. Also the event coordinator would meet with us (she is very nice) and would say she would email things that day and I wouldn't get it til a month later. You just have to be sure you are on top of things. But other than the not being upfront with how much things cost I thought it was wonderful the room was beautiful and the staff were very helpful they had more than enough people and everyone was very professional. Don't let it discourage you from doing your wedding here, just make sure you get it all in writing!! because they will screw you if they can
