It went perfectly

Dosha Salon took on a project with us! We had a total of 10 women getting their hair and makeup done alongside the bride. We started at 9:15 and ended by 11:45! They were prompt and ended on time which is a big deal considering how many weddings I’ve been to where hair and makeup runs late forcing photos to be cut into. We chose to go to the salon and I would highly suggest it! We had the whole place to ourselves! My bridsemaids hair all lasted throughout the entire day and their makeup was fabulous. I didn’t put any guidelines on makeup and the makeup artists did such a fabulous job making them look like natural beauties! I was thoroughly impressed with my hair! Kim did my hair on my wedding day and Courtney did it the day after, they train their employees so well that it was a complete replicate. Both lasted long throughout the night and I had so many compliments! They were able to keep my hair curled and pinned up. I would highly suggest this salon for wedding day hair and makeup!

Britt did an amazing job with my hair and make up. She used the top products available and it lasted the entire event. It even looked great the next morning. I really liked her attitude and attention to detail. Dosha did all my bridesmaids and they all looked stunning.

I had my hair and make-up done at Dosha NW. My bridesmaids and mothers of the bride and groom also had their hair done at Dosha NW. I had trial runs for my hair and make-up as well. Everyone there was incredibly nice and was wonderful to work with. I was very pleased with how our hairstyles and my make-up turned out. Everything was just as we had hoped for!

I went to Salon In Vogue on Hawthorne, which is a beauty school/salon that trains the people who work at Dosha (I think). The did hair and make up for me, my three bridesmaids, and my mom. Their prices were very reasonable and they were very flexible with scheduling. They opened early for us and did a great job! My up-do turned out exactly how I wanted it and the make-up was great too!

Dosha was absolutely wonderful! All my bridesmaids and my mom and I got our hair done here the day of the wedding. We each had out own hair person and all of them did great! So kinda, and personal and fun! I would highly highly recommend

My hair and makeup for my wedding was perfect. I asked the ladies to just do whatever they thought would look best, and they asked me questions about my venue, dress, style, and the overall wedding and went from there. What they came up with was waaaay better than anything I would have found on Pinterest or would have been able to describe. I was so happy with everything and my whole experience was pretty great. I would recommend Dosha, especially if you have a group of people getting their hair and makeup done together.

Nicole at the Dosha salon is very professional and accommodating. She did my hair and make-up trials and then the big day. She knew what she was doing and everything turned out perfect. I am so glad that I went to her.

I felt like a girl in the movies on her wedding day when all of us in the bridal party went to Dosha. All of us were able to be seated together, sipping Mamosa's that we brought, and getting our hair done that morning. The stylists were friendly, upbeat, and seemed genuinely excited about my Big day, when I am sure they do parties like that all of the time. All of us were very happy with the way we described the style we wanted, and they ere able to do just what we hoped for. It was such a great experience!

Dosha salon and spa at bridgeport took great care of me and my girls. Kim who did my hair was amazing! I didn't even have time to do a trial and she was able to create (ON my wedding day) the hair style I truly wanted. I was so impressed. My make up was flawless as well. I did schedule a trial but as soon as I arrived I changed up everything (typical bride) and it came out more beautiful than I imagined. They even allowed us to have pastries and mimosas!! Dosha took great care of us and I am so happy I decided to move forward with them. Five of us went in and we all got done around the same time. Dosha to me is number one and I will be going again for any future events.

Hair

Kristina is my normal stylist/colorist, so she was a natural choice for my hair for the wedding. But, even though I know her well and she knows my hair well, I’ve never had such “fancy” hair done, so this was an unknown.

I didn’t know what I wanted. I had ideas, I looked around a lot, but I didn’t know what would look good on me. But the trials went great, I brought some hair photos, she had some ideas and the outcome was really fabulous. Intricate, but not overly polished or prim. She really made me look like me – just polished.

I had color done about two weeks before (for which I’m *still* receiving compliments – I’ll definitely keep this color!).

And then it rained on the day. And I walked into the salon kind of a mess, having just handed over all the decorations and directions to allow my friends to “take it from there.” My manicure was a disaster, so I was painting my nails while she was doing my hair. And, like I said, it was raining! But she totally calmed me down. By the time she was done with my hair, I was breathing normally and back on track. AND MY HAIR WAS PERFECT.

Makeup

I’m not one for a lot of makeup and was wary of looking false or gaudy, but the trial went very well and I felt much better about the amount of makeup I’d be wearing. Rachel was great. She kept telling me what she was doing and why she was putting something on – and she always made sure I felt okay (i.e. not too much).

She did a great job. She made me go out of my comfort zone in colors and I’m so grateful for that. The purple (purple!) eye shadow she used made my eyes so beautiful that I am now wearing it daily. The makeup photographed very well and it lasted all night!

Nails

It was nice to splurge on the time and pampering for the manicure and pedicure (for both me and my Maid of Honor), but the manicure didn’t last through the day. I was painting my nails as I had my hair done the next day. And I had to redo the pedicure before we left for our honeymoon two days later.

Wedding Services

Definitely not something I’d bother with. I have a Dosha VIP card and that gets you the same price cut as they advertise at the wedding shows. And the management of the appointments and such was actually a deterrent, as they got more details wrong than right and I went round in circles to get things corrected (and they were quite testy about it too). Just an annoyance and if I had it to do over, I’d manage everything myself and not use the wedding services.

My bridesmaid, mother of the bride, and mother of the groom all went to Dosha for services on my wedding day. I had a consult and a trial. Courtney did my make up and Kim did my hair. We were all really pleased with the outcome! They did a great job and it was an enjoyable experience. It was easy for us to all go to one place and get done up.

My only frustration was working with their wedding coordinator, who wasn't the best to work with via email, often taking a really long time to respond.

All turned out great, and I would definitely recommend Dosha for hair and make up -- it was a great value and high quality.

I paid for myself and my bridesmaids to get our hair done at Dosha. I LOVED my hair. I had a guy do it and he was so detailed. My girls hair looked so good and I let them have the freedom to do whatever they wanted. My mom has short hair and was going to take care of her hair at the hotel and they curled and finished her hair no charge. They really helped me start off my day on the right foot. THANK YOU!

So great! They did such a good job of coordinating all of us so we could be getting done up at the same time. They listened to what each person wanted and tried to do that. My hair, especially, was perfect. We did a trial a few weeks prior and it looked even better for the real day!

One of my bridesmaids had a meltdown about her hair and they were great. They calmed her down and had another stylist fix it how she wanted.

It cost $50 for each of my BM's hair. Mine was a bit more-$75-plus the cost of the trial (my choice)

I booked dosha two weeks before the wedding, and they got me and my mother in with no problem. They did make up for both of us, a low knot for my hair, and a general style for my Mom. My mother looked radiant, and she felt very comfortable, as they let her bring her own makeup and say exactly what she wanted. Also, they are completely ADA accessible, which was great for my mom (in a wheelchair). It was a great experience.

I went to Dosha NW for all of my beauty needs, and was really impressed with the service I received. Their bridal packages were great to work with as were their event specialist. My only suggestion is that you make sure you pick the person who does your hair carefully, and do a trail run for hair. There are lots of different quality levels there and it pays to get the best!

My hair and makeup turned out perfect! Dosha was a lot less expensive than other vendors I looked at and the salon is located near most major hotels downtown. My bridesmaids and I were all able to get our hair and makeup done at the same time and the team was awesome! My only complaint is that the woman who schedules events was very rude to me. I had to cancel my trial due to a change in my work schedule and gave her a week notice and even called the day of to confirm that I needed to reschedule. She forgot to tell the stylist until the day my trial was originally schedule and called and left me a message pretty much blaming me for the error even though I told her a week prior.

I would recommend Dosha (the Northwest location) again, but definitely with some reservations. I thought that the services were great. My large wedding party (6 bridesmaids, 3 moms, and a few friends) all had nails, make-up, and hair. And all of the services were wonderful! All of the hair and make-up looked so beautiful.

My reservations are with the wedding coordinator that you have to work with. At times she is hard to get a hold of and will tell you that she'll get your schedule of services to you by the end of the day but doesn't. If only they could get a more reliable and professional wedding coordinator they would have a lot more business. It was hard to get everything scheduled (even though I started a year in advance), because she was so hard to work with.

Despite that - the services that we received were great! They do great hair and makeup.

I had Bobby do my hair at the NW Dosha and she was great!! She did exactly what I wanted and made great suggestions. I did a trial run for make-up and hated it. She did everything I asked her NOT to do. I ended up getting my make up done somewhere else.

I wasn't impressed. For having paid for a total of $500 in services to what is supposed to be the most upscale salon spa in Portland... eh. Could have done a lot better.

My hair and makeup turned out fantastic because I had a trial run. For sure do a trial run! My sister and mom felt like the makeup artists didn't listen to them very well. The manicures and pedicures were a disaster. Three of my girls had the polish just scrape off in one big piece, leaving an entire fingernail bare. One girl had time to return to the salon for a quick fix, and she reported back that they weren't very friendly, just slapped on a new coat of polish and sent her on her way. When we tried to address the company well after the wedding, once again... not very friendly.

I have lived in Seattle for 12 years now so coming home to get married meant that I wasn't familiar with the hot spots anymore. I had to rely on friends and suggestions, etc. Dosha got a lot of praise from people I knew, apparantly they have made quite a name for themselves. Too bad for me. The girls that took care of us that day did not listed to any of my bridesmaids and did the worst wedding hair I have ever seen. My sister was my maid of honor and 5 months pregnant and they curled her hair so tight she looked like Shirley Temple. When she asked if it could be changed a bit, loosen the curls or something, her girl told her that by the time the wedding started it would have come down a bit and she walked away onto another client. They did not seem concerned with their clients, just 'get 'em in, get 'em out" mentality. Now that we live down here I will NEVER step foot in that establishment. I've found a much nicer salon on 22nd that cares about taking care of the client and not just making a fast buck.

I was extremely disappointed with Dosha. I went to the location on Hawthorne, since it was closest to my venue. While I was happy with the actual hair and makeup done by Jessica, the treatment I received from the administrative staff was so poor that I will never do business with Dosha again. I booked my hair and makeup appointment as well as two hair trials, a makeup trial, and day-of makeup for my bridesmaids for a total bill of over $600, but wasn't even given the courtesy of a call back after leaving two voicemails and sending emails for over a week. I was trying to ask if my bridesmaids would simply be allowed to style their own hair in the salon while I was getting my hair done so that they wouldn't have to just sit there, as well as save us a little time that morning. Not only did they refuse to let them do this (citing liability issues, even though they wouldn't be using hot tools, even after I had been told during my trial that this shouldn't be a problem), they waited until 4 days before my wedding day to let me know this, so I had to scramble to switch my entire wedding day schedule around so that my bridesmaids could do their hair before we got there. On top of that, one of my bridesmaids' makeup took over 20 minutes longer than everyone else's (making us behind schedule), but then looked like she barely had any makeup on! I felt terrible for her, and for my stylist, whose fault it was not, but I will never give another dollar to Dosha again.

Warning Brides To Be: Just the worst experience I have EVER been charged for. I went in for an up-do appointment at the Hawthorne location and was told it would take one hour. My stylist was late in starting by 15 minutes and when I expressed concern she told me, "Relax honey, we will have plenty of time." Asked for simple half up, half down with a few pinned curls. At the end of my appointment time she had not finished even curling my hair and commented that the style she had tried to create looked like "dog doo doo". She talked to the manager about discounting the price and I was charged half. After calling Dosha's customer service person and leaving multiple messages I got a call back many days later. Tracy was professional, apologetic and understanding as she refunded the total amount. The whole experience was awful and I would strongly caution against using Dosha to anyone considering their service for something as important as your wedding day.

Canceled on me 6 weeks prior to wedding

I had booked Dosha salon for my wedding about five months in advance, for myself and 5 members of my bridal party. Over the next few months they called to tell me my stylist quit and had to reschedule me with someone else for my hair trial and wedding hair twice. Today, six weeks before my wedding, they call and tell me they’ve decided not to be open on Sundays anymore and won’t be doing my wedding. I asked if they’re helping brides find other options or reimbursing in any way and they said no. They made no effort to help in any way. I am now out of luck for my wedding day. Terrible customer service, unreliable, high turnover from staff, and horrible experience. I highly encourage all future customers, especially brides, to stay far away from this salon.

Dosha was awful for my wedding. I called months ahead of time to get appointments for myself and several bridesmaids and verified the times multiple times. On the day of, Dosha told me my bridesmaid was late (she wasn't, according to the times I'd pre-verified) and kept asking me where people were and who was next, despite the fact that I was clearly getting my nails done in the back and wasn't accessing my cell phone. They were rude to my friends and the worst part was that they did a terrible job on my nails! They didn't even cover the whole nail with paint! I had to remove it two days after my wedding because it made me upset every time I looked at it. I'd give zero stars if I could.

I called a month ahead and scheduled myself, my mom and my sister for spa pedicures and shellac manicures for my wedding. When I arrived I was informed that I wasn't scheduled for a shellac manicure and they didn't have time to do it and the pedicure. In addition they could not do a pedicure for my sister because they refuse to remove shellac from toes. That would have been nice information to provide when I scheduled the appointments. The lady at the front desk was apologetic but they had no fix for the solution and didn't offer us any compensation for the fact that now I have to go get a manicure somewhere else. I live 72 miles away and tried to plan this special spa day out perfectly. I'm so disappointed with Dosha and I will definitely not be coming back.

HORRIBLE! DO NOT GO HERE!

Dosha's SE Hawthorne location completely RUINED a portion of my bachelorette party. The salon called and told me about my book appointment, which was supposed to be a SURPRISE! My Matron of Honor called multiple times to remind them to NOT CONTACT THE BRIDE... so they ruined the surprise days before really shitting on the entire beauty portion of our day. Dosha also rescheduled a couple of my girls twice and then eventually cancelled on them and asked to reschedule them a different day - NO! This was supposed to be a fun day where we all got treatments together.

When I finally showed up for "surprise" services, we were SHOCKED to learn that although they offer shellac manicures they cannot remove shallec and therefore I could not receive the manicure and pedicure appointments I was signed up for. Who the hell runs a business where you offer shellac but cannot remove it!?!

The nail technician and the manager were completely rude and lack any sympathy for NOT TELLING US beforehand that they cannot remove shellac. You would think that they would want to keep our business and offer some additional services that day instead. There were plenty of staff smoking in the back parking lot that looked very open... it was just so sad because this was supposed to be a special beauty day and DOSH ruined that for me. No remorse or apologies. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DONT EITHER - Your time and money is valuable and this business does not treat you this way. Be sure to pamper yourself with a business you can trust.

I will say I have amazing friends who had a ton of other fun activities plan for the day so even though DOSH sucked and was a hot mess, the rest was beautiful and fun.
