Delectable food & great service from Donovan Dish

Donovan Dish did an exceptional job. We had a big wedding of 220 people, and they did an exceptional job at providing delicious passed appetizers, incredible meals, and impeccable service. Delicious and Attention to Detail!

The amount of guests who came up to me and said “I usually don’t say this at weddings, but the food was so good!”, was more guests than I can count!
We had the best time at the tasting, Riley and the chef took such great care of us! From that day on, Riley was super responsive, very accommodating, and so easy to work with! We did some southern style apps and charcuterie cones, steak and chicken (delicious and highly recommend) and then late night bites! The Nashville hot chicken bites and fries at the end of the night were a huge hit! Oh and interestingly enough, I have had a handful of people even asking for pictures of my menu so they can recreate the salad!
Beyond their flavorful food, their attention to detail in plating and service made the experience even better. The florals on the entrees had people saying it looked like art! Their staff was friendly, prompt and really helped the evening flow perfectly!
We joke about planning another wedding tasting, just so we can have their food again!! Going to grab some take home meals from their store next time we’re in town!

Perfect experience

We are so happy with our choice of Donovan's Dish for catering a plated dinner at our wedding. The food itself was amazing but what especially stood out was the top-notch service. One server was dedicated to making sure my husband and I had all the hors d'oeuvres we wanted during cocktail hour, and we also had a very attentive server during dinner service as well. It really stood out to us. We also received so many compliments on the food throughout the night as well, which always makes you feel like you chose the right vendor! Could not recommend enough!

A taste to remember

We had such a great experience with Donovan's Dish! We were nervous to have a buffet style wedding, as sometimes the food just is not as good as when you go for your tasting. But the food exceeded our expectations. Everyone at the wedding was talking about how delicious the food was, and we felt honored to be able to use Donovan's Dish. Would recommend!

Best Wedding Meal Ever!

We selected Donovan's Dish to cater our wedding and absolutely could not have made a better choice. From the very beginning Ashley listened to us intently and helped our menu come to life even better than we could have imagined. We were so impressed by the quality of the food and the kindness of the staff at our first interaction with Donovan's and continued to be impressed throughout the wedding process with our tasting and ultimately our wedding meal. I've never been to a wedding where guests raved about the food and I'm so glad that my wedding was one where guests did! Every guest I spoke to commented on how delicious the food was and how great the service was. We cannot thank Donovan's and Ashley Valdes enough for providing such amazing food and service for our big day.

Donovan’s is the best!

We had Donovan’s cater our wedding at the Maxwell and everyone LOVED the food. I’ve never been to a wedding where so many people talked about how delicious the food was. We worked with Ashley throughout the planning process and she was fantastic. She made sure our dinner would be perfect. We had ~170 people at the wedding and went with a plated dinner, with 3 entree options. The dinner was perfect, everyone received the dinner the requested and the food was delicious. We highly recommend using Donovan’s Dish for catering. They were excellent!

Donavon’s Dish was such a highlight of my daughter’s wedding reception. Ashley was wonderful to work with during the planning process. The food was beyond fantastic and the service was awesome!! Donovan’s Dish is the best!

I LOVE Donovan’s! My husband and I used them as our wedding caterer and the entire experience was phenomenal! We told our wedding planner how important it was for us to have amazing food at our wedding, so she suggested Donovan’s Dish. We went for a tasting and were immediately sold! All the food we tried was delicious and all the staff we worked with were helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We loved that they offered a wide variety of dishes that were more than just your typical wedding food like the same chicken or salmon dish you get at every wedding. For appetizers, we selected the goat cheese empanadas (AMAZING), bourbon meatballs (my husband still talks about these), mini chicken and waffles, and caprese skewers. We did live chef stations for entrees and had the shrimp and grits (one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my entire life), lemon chicken with goat cheese risotto (I still dream of that risotto), and the bistro filet. The signature ham rolls as our late night bites were a massive hit - these things are so addictive. For dessert, we had the donut flambé station which was so fun! All our guests could not stop talking how amazing all the food was. We had a few vegetarian and vegan guests and Donovan’s had awesome options for them, as well!

We were so pleased with our experience with Donovan’s for our wedding that we also bought their Thanksgiving dinner two years in a row! Everything comes packaged with the cooking instructions on the containers and you get everything you could possibly want. We have had two years of totally stress free Thanksgiving dinners.

I am also a massive fan of their takeout market! We always have one or two of their meals in our fridge or freezer for when we don’t feel like cooking. I seriously tell everyone I know about how much we love Donovan’s! The owner, Jill, is incredibly sweet and she has a fantastic team!

So Delicious!

Donovan's is the best! Their food is delicious and my guest could not stop raving about it. The biggest hit on our menu was the shrimp and grits, they are a must! Not only was the food delicious, but Brittany was amazing to work with. Every one of our servers at the wedding were so caring and professional. Would recommend to anyone!

The BEST food you'll eat (not just the best "for a wedding caterer")

We had Donovan's Dish at a wedding in 2022 and immediately knew we had to have them cater our wedding. I could talk for hours about how good the food is (seriously so many people came up and said it was the best catering they've had), but also the level of service is unmatched!! Ashley helped us pick our dinner menu, but she also helped us coordinate lunch catering for the wedding party while we got ready. She even arranged for the lunch sandwiches to be cut in quarters for the girls so we wouldn't ruin our makeup! (the turkey apple brie sandwiches were the only thing that got me through getting ready!) We have also taken advantage of the To-Go Market in Apex. It's the same amazing quality as the catering! Great for last minute gatherings, Thanksgiving sides, lazy dinners, etc. If you're planning a wedding, event, an easy dinner, potluck, you seriously cannot go wrong with Donovan's Dish!

All-Around BEST

I had been to several events that were catered by Donovan's Dish making it an easy decision when we were looking for a caterer for our wedding. The private events they offered for tastings so we could curate the perfect menu, the customer service with constant communication, and of course the food would individually be enough to give 5 stars but to have it all in all was everything we dreamed of! On the day of the wedding it was so wonderful to be able to relax and enjoy the day with the staff of Donovan's Dish taking care of everything. Our contact helped with suggestions for plating, serving, and taste profiles which was super helpful considering how DELICIOUS everything is! And now to have the opportunity for the take-away or delivery meal service we get to relive one of the happiest and best days of our lives!

Delicious food and great service!

We used Donovan’s for our wedding last month and people are still raving about the food! Everything from the hors d’oeuvres, dinner, late night snack and bar service was beautifully served and delicious! We did a dinner buffet and their servers made sure my new husband and I had our dinner plates first and even and made sure we had a drink from the bar throughout dinner so we didn’t have to get up. The bartenders and servers were friendly and quick with service. Our coordinator, Brittany, was helpful with decisions from the beginning, quick to respond and helpful with planning the flow of the event around dinner. Can’t recommend enough!!

Friendly and flexible, with amazing food options

Donovan's Dish did an excellent job catering our 90 person wedding. Up to the event they were prompt with communication and super flexible with our constantly changing guest count (even up to the week of). The servers were exceptionally friendly and dinner and apps went off without a hitch. Most importantly, the food was incredible... we received so many compliments after the wedding about how much they enjoyed the short rib, prosciutto wrapped chicken, and pass around apps. Best food experience at a wedding

Donovan’s Dish was everything we could have ever asked for out of a vendor! We did several live stations, and it was absolutely perfect. Everything was incredibly organized, and flowed without a hitch. Ashley made us feel at ease from the moment we met with her at our tasting.

What my guests remembered!

We got married on 11/12 with over 200 guests, & we chose Donovan’s Dish to cater. Of all the feedback we got from our wedding, hands down the most common thing we heard was, “Who catered? It was AMAZING!” I know the highlight of any bride’s wedding day is marrying the love of her life. While this was indeed the best part, our food was a close second. We had the steak, stuffed chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and asparagus- and my goodness, I couldn’t pick a favorite, but definitely had seconds. I didn’t care that I was wearing a tight dress, and a full belly would show- it was worth every bite!!

Fantastic Catering for a Wedding!

Hired Donovans as one of the preferred vendors with my wedding venue, and man did they nail it! From the beginning, we were able to try out the food (for free I might add!), meet with them to make custom changes, and then I could rave all day about how they did on the day of the wedding! Everything was set up perfectly, the appetizers were a hit during cocktail hour, and they even made sure to bring us some while were were taking photos in the cold outside to make sure we at least got to try them on the day off - highly recommend the chicken and waffles, fried green tomatoes, and the bourbon meatballs!!! The dinner itself was fantastic, and guests mentioned how good the food was. They even made sure some of the children, who were notoriously picky eaters, had food without being prompted. When I say run, dont walk, to hire Donovans for your wedding catering...I mean it. Shoutout to Ashley and Jill, who took over my event after a previous associate changed jobs. They stepped right in, made great recommendations, and were so prompt when changes needed to be made to headcount, vegetarians, etc. These guys are the best professionals, and truly made our day fantastic!

Amazing! 10/10

We used Donovan’s Dish for our wedding in Feb 2022. The food was absolutely amazing and we couldn’t have been happier! We received many compliments from guests. We chose the stuffed chicken and the tenderloin! Excellent food and service. I would highly recommend them!

Wow, Donovan's Dish! You are incredible. They catered for our wedding on 12/18 and man oh man their food is out of this world. We had the stuffed chicken and steak, and it was so delicious. All my guests raved about how they enjoyed it. I was getting text messages the next day about how great the food was and the best steak they ever had. Their onsite staff was very professional and attentive. I would highly recommend it! Thanks, DD team!

Excellent food for our wedding reception!

We booked Donovan's Dish for our wedding reception in Raleigh and the food was immaculate! We curated the menu selections to create a very Southern hospitality vibe and our guests were raving about it all night long. Sydney and the team at DD were a delight to work with!

I can't even express how amazing the DD team was in making our wedding a success. Sydney was responsive, creative, and someone that was so organized from our first meeting. We moved from a venue to doing a wedding on our farm (with no venue) within 4 months and Sydney jumped right in and put us at ease. Her team helped from set-up to break-down and provided the best full service experience. Not to mention the food! We love food and are foodies and all of our friends and family keep talking about the shrimp and grits and the chicken and waffles! This team is someone I would recommend 10x over and they helped make our wedding dreams come true!

Delicious food and affordable pricing!

We loved working with Donovan's Dish for our wedding! Communication was super smooth throughout the process, and the food was to die for. In fact, my husband declared that their Signature Stuffed Chicken was the best chicken he'd eaten in his life! Really amazing value as well given how delicious everything was. Great Experience!

I highly recommend Donovan's Dish. Sydney was great to work with and the food turned out great on the day. I especially loved the crab cake appetizers! They were so flexible with us in tweaking two meals to make sure they didn't have pork per my family's wishes. You will not regret your decision to go with them. Everything is delicious!

Delicious Donovan's!

Yum! We are so glad that we chose Donovan’s Dish to cater our wedding. Sydney and the team were wonderful to work with. We were lucky enough to use Donovan’s throughout our entire wedding weekend and they nailed it every single time! They brought food for our bridal brunch, lunch for the bridesmaids and groomsmen the day of the wedding, catered our wedding, and provided trays for the day after the wedding. They are delightful to work with and so accommodating and responsive. Guests raved about food across all of the events. The service was phenomenal. Fantastic Food!

We loved having Donovan's Dish cater our wedding! We had two stations with the Bistro Filet and the Famous Shrimp and Grits. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Not only that but they were incredibly professional. They made sure my husband and I were served right away so we could enjoy the food before interacting with our guests. I highly recommend them for your wedding/event. If we lived closer we would be ordering take-out from them daily.

Donovan's dish rocks!

Our food was INCREDIBLE! I cannot even count how many people told me that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Everything was delicious and people kept wanting to go get more!! Becca also worked so well with me and figured out how to get us some vegan meals because I had some family members coming into town who needed it. They also gave us a giftcard so we can go have our wedding food again! I would absolutely recommend them if you want some bomb wedding food!!!

Amazing food!

We are so happy that we booked Donovan's Dish for our wedding! We tasted their food at a wedding show and they were quickly at the top of our list. After an initial phone call to talk through what we wanted for our wedding, we went in for a one-on-one tasting. It was so nice to have one-on-one time with the owner and our event manager during this meeting. They even adjusted a couple of recipes to accommodate for a food intolerance. We continue to receive compliments on the food at our wedding, particularly the shrimp and grits. We really hope to see Donovan's Dish at an event again soon!

Best food and service you could ask for!

Donovan's Dish catered our wedding at the Cookery in downtown Durham almost a month ago, and I could not be happier with our decision. The food stole the show! I had so many guests approach me during and after the wedding saying that this was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. I feel like sometimes catering large events can lead to some of the dishes tasting dry or not fresh, but the bistro fillet beef strips were seriously some of the best steak I've ever had. Cooked to perfection! Folks loved the live action shrimp and grits as well, several people got thirds.

The food isn't even the best part! The staff at Donovan's Dish were so professional and friendly and ON TOP OF THINGS, right from the start. They met with me multiple times prior to the wedding, helped me create a layout and determine the exact number of items we needed to rent. I had a lot of questions and we went through many many emails getting everything sorted, and I was never made to feel like any question I had was inconveniencing them in any way.

They really made our wedding so seamless and so perfect. Everyone loved the staff and I just could not have asked for a better caterer. Definitely book Donovan's dish for any event!

Yum, yum, yum- Southern flare for out of town guests!

Delicious! Good food is very much appreciated in my family and therefore, it was slam dunk using Donovan's Dish. The compliments we receive on the food keep coming. Guests loved the family style option and food with southern style. The dessert table quickly disappeared before out eyes. Everyone at DD was great to work with-helpful and accommodating as we changed up number of entrees and accounted for vegetarians. The logistics of serving a large crowd seemed effortless and was so quick! Not enough good things to say!

Amazing Food!

We met Donovan's Dish at our wedding venue's open house. It was a chilly January day and they were serving Grilled Cheese sandwiches, tomato soup, and shrimp and grits. My husband was immediately sold on them! From the initial meeting until the final cleanup, they were helpful, professional, and extremely flexible. We had some major allergies to avoid and they helped make sure everyone in attendance could eat something! Our private tasting was fun and delicious. We were able to try everything that would be severed at our wedding. Sydney was a pleasure to work with! We cannot say enough good things about Donovan's Dish!

The best wedding food!

I cannot recommend Donovan's Dish highly enough, they were one of our favorite vendors!! The staff was incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. Kim offered to go with me to reserve our rentals, which was incredibly helpful, and Becca was very communicative as the date approached to make sure every detail was taken care of. We ended up choosing the pimento cheese chicken and chef TJ's famous shrimp and grits as our entrees, which really fit with the modern southern vibe we wanted for our reception. Seriously do not skip the shrimp and grits--our friends and family are still talking about how delicious they were! We also followed Kim's recommendation to have the shrimp and grits served as a chef-attended station and that really added an extra wow factor to the dinner service. All their attention to detail was so appreciated for keeping the catering process stress free. They even thoughtfully offered us a gift card to the Donovan's Dish market as a wedding present so we can enjoy our wedding meal again! We will continue to be customers and recommend their catering to anyone planning an event!

Best Wedding Food Ever!

Donovan's Dish was the caterer for our wedding at the Cookery in June. People are still telling us how much they loved the food. The shrimp and grits along with the mini chicken and waffles were HUGE hits. But honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. It is always a little bit of a concern having catering for 200 because of the logistics of it, but Donovan's Dish NAIL IT! All food was hot, well seasoned, and brought out on time.

We are originally from Michigan so we told Jill we wanted our food to be Southern and she picked out the perfect menu for us. We tweaked a few things, but it was great to have her start things off because it was daunting to put together a menu.

Not only was the food great, but so was the service. Donovan's helped us make our diagram and order rentals, including linens. They answered all questions as we prepared for the day. On the day of they were SO helpful! They setup the tables, linens, and helped with small decor. They moved chairs from the ceremony to dinner. Not only that their staff were extremely kind and helpful. They checked on our families, made sure we got apps, and so much more.

Our day was perfect and Donovan's Dish played a huge roll in that. We can't wait to continue to eat from their markets too!

Donovan's Delicious Dish!

I was just reminiscing about our wedding the other day with a few friends (it’s been 6 weeks) and they were STILL talking about how good our food was...especially the famous shrimp and grits! Our venue had a really southern feel to it, so we opted for those choices on the menu. Donovan’s Dish was amazing! They took care of everything from the start. Our tasting was fun and delicious; we were able to sit down with Kim and get to know each other in a really lovely environment. On the day of the wedding, the team made sure we didn’t miss out on the food served during cocktail hour which was sweet. They did the same for us at dinner by making our plates for us. We had stations out on the lawn and it was perfect. Guests were raving about the food as we went around to chat. I couldn’t have asked for a better caterer! I can’t wait to go back to Donovan’s Dish, pick up some dinner, and have a little date night with my husband :)

Amazing food and team

100% would recommend them! The absolute best appetizers and food! One thing we wanted to make sure was that our guests did not leave hungry and my groom and the guest were very satisfied with the food! Amazingly Delicious!

Jill, Kim, Becca and the entire Donovan’s Dish team were fantastic to work with! They were extremely responsive and reliable from the day we started working with them, and the food blew everyone away. From the moment that we met with them, we knew that we were in good hands – they listened to what was important to us and helped us create a menu that fit our style. On the day of the wedding, everything was flawless and executed just like we wanted. We had many of our guests ask about the catering because the food was so great! They worked amazingly with the rest of our vendors and we could not recommend them enough! The bottom line is that they are the best at what they do and certainly worth the investment.

Delicious food and excellent service

From start to finish, Donovan's Dish was a wonderful caterer. We hired them for our wedding after an excellent tasting and meeting with Kim. We worked with Becca to plan a rehearsal party in addition to the wedding, and she was always responsive, thorough, attentive, and a pleasure to work with. She helped us plan the perfect layout for our venue and worked with us to set up a few personal touches (like a champagne table and passed shots). On the day of the wedding, the Donovan's staff was professional and friendly, and the food was top notch. We've received a lot of compliments from our guests about the tasty dinner and our late night snack of chicken and waffles. We couldn't ask for anything more; they did a fantastic job!

Yummy Food

I enjoyed working with Donovan's Dish. Kim Sikkel is a sweetheart. I unfortunately had to deal with one lost check and then they took weeks to process my second one, which was pretty frustrating (apparently it was just sitting around never deposited). Besides that, I had no issues. I appreciated all the assistance provided by the staff on site. They were extremely professional, pleasant, and attentive. My food was good but some of it was luke-warm/cold (like the bourbon meatballs). I wish it would've been piping hot, but that's OK. The menu was delicious. Just be aware that they throw the food out almost immediately if you don't have to-go boxes. In essence- say yes to Donovan's Dish. The displays were superb, the staff is professional, and their food is just too good to pass up!

Best Local Caterer!

After several food tastings, DD delivered big time! We had a few requests not on the menu options thst they made happen! They provided our beer and wine last minute without issue and were a pleasure to work with. Our guests all complimented the food and thought it was exceptional. Our biscuit bar was a huge hit! I tasted a few caterers before booking Donovan's Dish and am SO happy I waited! Everyone enjoyed the food at my wedding. Fantastic FOOD and service

We are big foodies and knew that this would be super important that we get right at our wedding. Not messing around with food! We went to a catering showcase at The Cloth Mill in Hillsborough, NC and were first introduced to Donovan’s Dish there. We were blown away by their Signature Shrimp and Grits dish! The best ever. The bride is Vietnamese and wanted Asian appetizers during the outdoor cocktail hour. We weren’t sure if they could pull this off well, since it wasn’t on their regular menu, but they came up with some amazing ideas and they turned out perfect! We got lots of compliments on the food (taste, presentation) and friendly service. They thoughtfully prepared a large to-go box for us to enjoy the next day before leaving on our honeymoon and we got to have all of our wedding food and cake over again, in comfy clothes! One of the bonuses is that they also run a Take-Out market so we can have those shrimp and grits again and relive our amazing day. Thank you, Donovan's Dish!

Excellent variety of choices

Amazing Experience!

Donovan's Dish catered our wedding and did a PHENOMENAL job! We had a mingle-style wedding with no assigned seating and opted for food stations.

SERVICE: Donovan's was the most friendly, prompt and efficient vendor that we had. Leading up to our wedding, Kim was always prompt in responding to any questions we had, and she was the ultimate problem solver. She was very helpful with our interesting set-up, offering tips as to how to appropriately manage cocktail hour and dinner and suggestions as to popular food items. She went out of her way to make sure our experience was a personal one, and she seemed genuinely excited about catering our event. On our wedding day, everything went perfectly. The Donovan's crew was very friendly and efficient. The bartenders in particular were amazing!!

FOOD: Not only were the stations so fun and the servers extremely friendly, the food was absolutely delicious (and we are VERY picky about food). In particular, our guests raved about the shrimp and grits! Donovan's gave us a few extra trays of the shrimp and grits to take home, and we ate them for four meals straight haha! They are that good.

In sum, we cannot recommend Donovan's enough. They did a fantastic job, and we could not have asked for a better caterer for our wedding!!!

Donovan's was so flexible and worked with us to create the perfect event--we had our ceremony and reception in the same room, and they seamlessly flipped the room during our cocktail hour. We also received many compliments on the food. We had a plated salad at the table and then food stations with shrimp and grits, short ribs with truffled mashed potatoes, and pimento cheese stuffed chicken with the best corn and tomato salad. Best experience ever! We loved working with Donovan's Dish. Jill did our initial consultation and tasting, which was fabulous. The shrimp and grits CANNOT be beat! We worked with Kim for the rest of our planning process and she was so nice, helpful, and just easy to be around. DD was incredibly professional, sleek, and kind at our wedding reception and cocktail hour. They also left a card for us in our card box to recreate our wedding menu in the future! The food was absolutely delicious and all of our guests raved about it - even prepared for a crowd, it still tasted amazing. I cannot recommend enough! Our experience was phenomenal.

We LOVED Donovan's Dish! We tried two caterers that fit into our budget for our wedding and Donovan's Dish knocked it out of the park. We tried them first and the woman we worked with (who no longer works there) told us to make sure we ask any other vendors that we try if they provide all of the materials to prepare and present the food. The next vendor we went to provided none of the materials needed, and we would've easily spent another $500+ on rentals on top of an already more expensive caterer. The food was phenomenal. We tried their prosciutto stuffed chicken and braised short ribs with a vegetable medley and roasted fingerling potatoes. Their food is top-tier, fanciest of fancy quality. We ended up going with the chicken, switching to a bistro filet (their summer version of the braised short ribs), the vegetables, and a mashed potato bar with an artisan cheese tray, house salad, and bread & butter. Y'all. This food blew everyone away. As soon as the wedding ended and we went to take pictures, one of their lovely servers came out with hors d'oeuvres plates for my husband and I to make sure we ate. It was so sweet. They helped set up before the wedding and their staff were the best we worked with for all of our multi-staffed vendors. The waitresses brought my husband and I our plates when we sat down, and y'all, I thought the chicken was good. The filet we switched to was life changing. It was all awesome and everyone seemed to really enjoy the staff and really LOVE the food. This was our biggest purchase, and my family are big foodies, so I'm glad we went with Donovan's. After we got back from our honeymoon, I was cleaning and I actually found a card from Donovan's Dish saying thank you with a gift card inside, which was SO sweet and so awesome. I'm extremely impressed and glad that my husband and I will actually be living a little closer to their storefront, so hopefully we can stop by and get some good eats to bring back home with us soon!

Donovan's Dish was wonderful! We first experienced their food at a wedding event at The Stockroom - after that we were sold. The team was very responsive and helped us plan a great meal for our wedding. We went with stations and served Shrimp and Grits (to die for) and Prosciutto Wrapped Stuffed Chicken. The team that worked our wedding was incredible. They provided top notch service and everything went perfectly. It's been a month and we are still getting compliments on the Shrimp and Grits! Thank you!

Donovan's was a no brainer and we knew immediately during our tasting that we had to hire them! They were so easy to work with and did not disappoint at our wedding. Melissa made the planning process easy and fun. She attended the final walk through and helped us map out where everything would be. The day of the wedding they quickly flipped the room we had our ceremony in setting up the buffet all while serving for cocktail hour. Our guests raved about the food. They also took such good care of me and my (now) husband. One of the servers brought out appetizers to us during cocktail hour while we were doing photos away from guests. She also waited patiently until our photographer said we could take a quick break since we were on a time crunch due to lighting. Even though it was a buffet, Melissa had our dinner delivered to us at the head table. The staff ensured everything ran smoothly and there was never a long line. They even packed up to go plates for us at the end of the night to enjoy after the wedding. I was so thankful for that little detail! I can't say enough about the food and the sweet staff. I love that they have the take out markets so we can enjoy the food we had at our wedding whenever we want. My mom has already demanded that any time she visits us or we visit her in Georgia that we have a tub of their pimento cheese for her. I can't thank Donovan's Dish enough for their delicious work!!

We were lucky enough to have Donovan’s Dish cater our wedding on October 14, 2017. Our 130 guest raved about how accommodating the staff were and how delicious the food was. The staff and our Catering Coordinator, Kim, were a dream to work with over our engagement. She made the entire process easy, pleasant and continuously went above and beyond to ensure that our foodie vision came to life and the food was perfect. She happily met with us whenever we asked and answered countless emails. I can’t speak enough about how special the staff and Donovan’s made us and our guests feel. Highly recommend- it was truly the perfect service and foodie experience for us and our guests

WOW. We booked Donovan's Dish for our wedding and it was by far the best wedding food I have ever tasted! Our guests raved about it, and I wish I hadn't been running on so much adrenaline so that I could have enjoyed more of it! Melissa and the team made our planning process very straightforward. They were extremely accommodating for our guests with (sometimes strange) food restrictions; I had a guest that needed no onions, egg, and garlic, and Melissa made it happen with only a week's notice. My only suggestion to future couples would be to make sure that you can take some food home afterwards- I had thought we could do this but I don't think we brought the right containers to do so. I highly recommend Donovan's if you're looking for delicious staples with a southern touch. I wanted to have some thematically appropriate food without it being too heavy, and they did a wonderful job! Thank you!

Oh my gosh, I cannot say enough wonderful things about the food and the staff here!! The guests raved over our heavy hors d'oeuvres wedding reception. Just a few of the standout favorites were the pork sliders, the goat cheese quesadillas with mango salsa, the bourbon meatballs, the chicken tzatziki skewers.... But even more amazing than the food was the quality of service from each and every staff member. They all truly went above and beyond to help in any way possible, they were the MOST FRIENDLY catering staff (to ALL our guests!) that I have ever encountered. Simply a top notch company all around.

The team at Donovan's Dish provided catering for our rehearsal dinner and we recommend them highly. From the taste testing we had in their store to the completion of the rehearsal dinner, everything was handled professionally and deliciously! My fiancé was hesitant about shrimp and grits since he has traditionally eaten them at a local restaurant. The moment he tasted the DD version, he was in love. Our menu was creative and they were very flexible working with us on our personal wishes and dietary concerns for guests. We were extremely pleased with how promptly they responded to communication and how professionally they handled things at the event. Food was superb!

When you're constantly craving your wedding food, months after the big day - that's a good sign right? :) All of our wedding guests LOVED the food and have said it's by far the best food. Some of our wedding guests have even visited DD's Take-Out Market for another bite.

From the beginning, Donovan's Dish was responsive, friendly, professional and flexible with all of our requests. They even worked to keep us within budget. At our wedding cocktail hour and reception, the DD staff is very professional and kind. The buffet food display is gorgeous and their signature attire is awesome too! The only (minor) downfall - we provided the booze and DD provided the mixers and sodas. Donovan's Dish ran out of sodas/juices half way through our wedding reception. Donovan's Dish was very accommodating and quickly fixed the problem. This was a minor error and not a big deal; our guests carried on with the party. At least we didn't run out of the good stuff :)

Without a doubt, I'd recommend Donovan's Dish for any wedding or event. I'm excited for a chance to use DD again in the future!

Great food, great service, great staff, Donovan's was absolutely fabulous all around! We had a great experience with Donovan's from start to finish. They offered us an initial tasting where we were able to try all sorts of their delicious food. The quality of the food is undeniable. Maureen was responsive, accommodating, and extremely helpful in the entire planning process. The wait staff at the wedding were fabulous, and made sure our guests were taken care of. The staff made sure we had plenty of food and were well-fed! They were everything and more we could have hoped for in a caterer. Most of our guests commented on how incredible the food was. This isn't your standard bland and boring wedding food, if you want to feed your guests well, go with Donovan's!

Considering our particular menu needs, I knew going in that we were not going to be the easiest clients to work with for our wedding but Donovan's Dish met, surpassed, blew our expectations out of the water with the quality of their food, their professional planning and execution, and their exceptional service. Serving a New Orleans themed menu to cooks from New Orleans was asking a lot but Melissa and her team did an amazing job. The food was so good, I didn't mind risking spilling gumbo and shrimp creole on my wedding dress (which I did). They were also incredibly accommodating of last minute changes to our menu and they worked hard to make our vision a delicious reality. I'll be excited for a chance to use their services again in the future.

What can I say....I will always go to Donovan's Dish First for any event catering. Not only is the food spectacular working with Melissa was a pleasure. She has the best sense of humor and is extremely organized and thought of things I didn't. I enjoyed her phone calls and emails. Most of all they accommodated us after an issue with another catering company we had originally hired. They previous company we hired was nothing like Donovan's Dish. Donovan's Dish was professional, honest and dependable. I can't wait to work with them again in the future.

We absolutely loved working with Donovan's Dish for our wedding. Throughout the planning process they were professional, responsive, and friendly. Melissa was incredibly organized and also helped us with other aspects of the wedding including wording for our menu. The food was AMAZING from the salad to the buffet. Every single guest raved that it wasn't "wedding food" but tasted like they were at a restaurant. The servers were incredibly friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to bring extra food or drinks to people who needed them. They also wrapped all of the leftovers into handy to go boxes for us and we enjoyed them the next night. We could not have asked for a better caterer for our wedding!

Zach and I cannot say enough great things about Donovan's Dish. From the beginning, they were responsive, professional, friendly, and flexible with all of our menu tweaks. After leaving our tasting, we were sold. The food was expertly prepared and delicious. We liked our tasting so much we ended up using them for our couples shower and wedding. We received so many compliments throughout both events. The staff was amazing. Even other vendors were impressed with how well they handled the flow of service and made sure to find every last silverware at the end of the night so we were charged extra from our rental people. I think Donovan's Dish was one of the easiest, stress free decisions we made during the planning process.

From the very beginning the professionalism was out of this world. We had met with a few other caterers who seemed all about the business and not very personable. We hadn't heard of Donovoan's Dish until TWO of our vendors had recommended them to us (Thank you Renee Sprink & Paula from Party Reflections!) Our first meeting was held at their previous catering location. They invited us into their kitchen where a beautifully displayed table was set for four. We first met with the catering manager Melissa, who by the way was amazingly organized, patient, and just wonderful through out our entire engagement. She truly loves her job and joy radiates from her when you speak with her. We had the pleasure of meeting Chef TJ who cooked us portions of the three entrees we chose and his most popular hors d'oeuvres, oh did I mention there was wine, candle light, and Frank Sinatra playing in the background? It was an amazing experience to be in the presence of someone who has such a passion and love for cooking. We were sold right then and there. This is more than a catering company, it is a family. Jill and her team are one of a kind and they take care of you like you are one of their own. Nico and I feel so lucky to have been able to work with such spectacular people for our special day. We had a plated dinner of 175 and our whole night ran so smoothly thanks to them. The service was impeccable, the food was beyond delicious, and we couldn't be happier with our decision to have them cater our wedding! I could go on and on, but to the future brides and grooms do not look any further! Donovan's Dish is the real deal.

There is no doubt that the quality of the food at a wedding can make or break the success of the evening. We are four days out from the wedding and I am still getting accolades from family and friends raving about how good the food was. Not only was the food presented beautifully, it was served by a staff like no other. The quality and preparation of the meals were incredible. We chose to do stations, which was an awesome alternative to the buffet line. The only regrets from our guests, were that they were too full to try everything because it all looked so good. If I had to say anything bad, is that there were too many awesome choices to just pick a few from when planning the menu!

I cannot say enough positive comments about Donovan's Dish. Jill and her team did an amazing job from day one. She was responsive, patient, accommodating, and full of great ideas. On the day of the wedding, the servers were on point. They were polite, professional, and made sure that my husband and I took time to eat during cocktail hour and during the reception. Our guests spoke highly of the service, as well. Most importantly, the food was wonderful. From shrimp and grits to pasta to ham biscuits, our guests could not stop talking about how delicious everything was. I would love to host another event just to have Donovan's Dish cater.

I want to host another big event just so I can use Donovan's Dish again! We used them for our wedding at The Stockroom in November and can't say enough good things about this team. Our decision was pretty much made from our first meeting when they set up a tasting for us. Other companies rushed us and wanted decisions on the spot. Not DD, they served courses, talked to us about the ingredients and shared stories of other weddings they'd worked. The food at our wedding was wonderful (people are still talking about it a month later!), the staff was super professional, and the service/presentation was flawless. My husband and I were never without a drink thanks to this staff, and they had full plates ready and waiting at our seats so we did actually get to eat on our wedding day! I really enjoyed working with Melissa throughout the planning process - she answered questions I didn't know I had, made great recommendations, and even coordinated with my other vendors to cover the all the details. DD is a bit pricier than some of the other caterers we looked at, but I can tell you they are worth every penny!

I wish I could give Donovan's Dish ten stars for their catering service at our wedding! From the initial tasting down to the last minute of the ceremony, their professionalism and kindness was outstanding. And lets now forget how GREAT the food was during our event! My husband as well as many guests at our wedding work in the food industry and everyone commented on how impressed they were with the quality of the meal. They made sure to give us (bride and groom) separate plates so we also had time to enjoy the food. I can honestly saw that we have never worked with a better catering company and would highly recommend them for any catered event!

We are so glad we chose Donovan's Dish for our wedding. Bottom line: SEVERAL people told us it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. That should be enough! But there's more...

We had some guests with special dietary needs, and Melissa was on top of it, they even made a special dish for those guests and brought it to them! And, they brought me and my husband our plates first, so we could actually eat our meal with our friends (stereotypes about not eating at your wedding be damned! We ate, and it was delicious).

The staff were all lovely and nice, and worked really fast to flip everything over during cocktails so that everything was perfectly on time.

We held all our vendors to a high standard. When we picked Donovan's we had already tried their food at two friends weddings. It was top notch. We had some specific dishes that we requested and they had zero reservations about making it work. When I asked them to make tostones good enough that cooks in my family would be impressed they worked with me and executed! All and I mean all our guests loved the food. Chef Colin and Ashley. Did a great job making our reception menu one for the books!

September wedding

We hired Donovan’s dish for our wedding that had to be postponed 4 times due to Covid. They were very easy to deal with and helpful throughout the whole process. The food was great and the staff was very nice throughout the event. Would highly recommend!

Donovan's is amazing!

We loved working with Donovan's for our wedding! They were so accommodating for our guests with dietary restrictions and helped us create a menu that everyone loved! The service during our wedding was incredible, they made sure my husband and I were able to enjoy h'dourves during cocktail hour and ensured we were brought our food first during dinner so we could enjoy ourselves and the food before greeting our guests. I would recommend Donovan's to anyone planning an event who wants amazing food and service!

We worked with Donovan's Dish for our recent wedding in July. From the moment we reached out to them, their customer service was amazing! They helped us work through our menu selections, were very patient on the timeframe, and were very helpful when teaming up with other vendors related to dining (such as linens, rentals, etc.). The catering manager that we worked with was very friendly and helpful through the whole process, up until the day of our wedding. They even attended the vendor review meeting with the coordinator and all other vendors, and it was very helpful to walk through the timeline of our day and understand how their service will be provided to us and our guests.
We highly recommend Donovan's Dish to any bride and groom planning their upcoming wedding. Not only was the service outstanding, but the food was absolutely delicious! We received many compliments on the food, and some local guests even visited the store front after the wedding to purchase some of the packaged food for their weekly meals. Amazing!

DD catered our wedding reception and we are thrilled with our decision to hire them! When I first started putting out feelers for caterers I was impressed by how quickly Jill repsonded to my inquiries and her willingness to accommodate my budget requests. Jill helped me put together my menu and we couldn't have been happier with it. Our entire menu was delicious but the Signature Stuffed Chicken was PHENOMENAL and I will definitely be ordering it from their take home menu again. I had originally set out to keep my budget around $2500, which only allowed for drop off service and Jill was more than happy to make sure that we would have a great dinner selection on our budget. We later decided to add servers and a bartender and it was worth every extra penny! We were lucky to have Jill as our on-site manager and she helped keep our reception flowing and on schedule. Our original catering coordinator left DD just a couple weeks before the wedding, but Melissa picked up where she left off beautifully as if she had been working on our wedding the entire time! Jill and Melissa went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for the food/drinks at the reception, as well as, advised me on other areas of the reception. All of our guests were very pleased with the food and service and we would definitely recommend Donovan's Dish to any one. We look forward to another opportunity to use them!!

The food was AMAZING! I've been to weddings where the food was sub-par at best so it was important to me to have delicious food and Donavan's Dish delivered! They did 3 private tastings for us and our families until we found exactly what we wanted, and they did perfectly on the wedding day! Not to mention they were so quick to respond whenever we had questions!
