Above and Beyond Your Typical Photographer

Dave was the perfect person to capture our engagement photos and our big day! His nerdiness and kind personality just shines through and we loved our whole experience with him! His attention to detail, concern for what we wanted in our photos, and his dedication to being fully present for our day was amazing!

He was kind enough after having to delay our wedding due to the pandemic to honor his original pricing. He even arrived early to introduce himself to our party and get a feel for the space.

We received so many comments from our guests about how kind and genuine he was. They loved that he interacted with them and had conversations versus just being a bystander in the corner. He was in it 100% which we loved! Not to mention the details he captured were just unbelievable! We are so appreciative of his hard work and dedication to capturing our memories.

Above and beyond a standard photographer

Dave was an awesome photographer to work with. He was always very professional with also making us feel at ease and comfortable even during all of our stress. He was very accommodating before and during the wedding and wanted to make sure everything was perfect throughout the whole process. From scheduling the engagement shoot and choosing great spots local to us, to coaching us through creating great photo opportunities, to helping putting on the boutonnieres, Dave was always ready and willing to go above and beyond a standard photographers service. He had many shots ready for us and was also very receptive to photos we were looking to recreate.

While I have never enjoyed photos being taken of me, he made the process fun and easy, which was no easy feat. He was very meticulous in making sure each and every shot looked great. He always made sure hair and clothes looked as good as we would hope they would before taking the photo.

Dave also worked great with our videographer, who he never met before, and he made sure they both had their perfect shots before moving on. Dave made the day seem like they had been working together for many weddings.

We have received countless complements from our guests on how professional and great to work with Dave was and cannot thank him enough for doing such a great job documenting our wedding day. We do not hesitate recommending Dave to anyone else needing event photography.

Couldn’t have asked for a better photographer!

I can’t say enough words to express how much I love the photos that Dave took for our wedding last month. I love each and every one of them and I am so glad that we chose to go with Dave for our special day. Dave worked with our busy schedules to include an engagement shoot before our wedding and knew the perfect areas to get amazing photos. Leading up to our wedding, Dave was super organized and answered any and all questions I had. On the day of, Dave went above and beyond the call of duty and I couldn’t have asked for someone to do a better job. He made sure we were able to get all the pictures I wanted and also made sure that I had everything I needed. I can’t wait to use Dave again to capture any other special moments in my life !

Superb Photographer

Dave was a pleasure to work with. Very professional and organized. His pictures came out amazing especially the black and whites. He was very accommodating during the COVID delays. Better than you could imagine

Working with Dave was incredible. He was totally flexible as our wedding plans changed due to the pandemic. He provided us with much needed guidance and perspective. The level of organization he brings is crucial for a successful day. Every guest complimented his professionalism and direction throughout our ceremony and reception. He didn’t even let a little rain stop us from getting several stunning shots. He is the real deal and I wouldn’t be able to recommend anyone else for such a special day.

unique and amazing

From the engagement photos to the wedding photos Dave was amazing to work with and I couldn't be happier with the pictures we have. Dave has so many ideas on how to make your photos both unique and personal. My wife and I had to split our wedding and reception due to the events this year so I cannot wait to add our already fantastic photos from our wedding to the ones for our reception.

Fabulous Experience

Dave was prompt in getting back to us about his availability with really short notice (less than 3 weeks), especially given the unprecedented times of covid19. He was very accomodating with our request to to photograph an outdoor socially distant wedding in hot and humid conditions that is typical in Boston in August. He also helped me take a great video with use of his lapel mic that helped in capturing clear audio outdoors. And he can move a camera shooting video mounted on a tripod so smoothly, you would think it's mounted on gimbal gyro ( it wasn't). Pick Dave if you want some amazing shots and someone who knows the Boston area very well!

Helped us capture our COVID micro-wedding

Dave was a life-saver in helping us capture beautiful memories of our short-notice, COVID era micro-wedding. He was very easy to work with and has a positive, laid-back style that put us at ease. Though we hired him just for photos, he went above and beyond helping ensure our audio/video set-up was working properly so we could record the ceremony for our friends and family who weren't able to be present.

I wish I could give 10 stars!

I wish I could give Dave 10 stars! Dave is brilliant at what he does and is true artist who made our day absolutely magical. I could not recommend Dave and Documenting Life’s Moments more highly. From our engagement through to the gorgeous wedding photos, Dave captured every beautiful important moment both grand and small and everything in between. Our pictures turned out AMAZING and Dave knew just how to make everything look so beautiful! We now have memories to last a lifetime.

We had to downsize our wedding from a big affair with 120 people down to a backyard ceremony and very small gathering due to Covid-19. Dave came to my in-law’s home, and was so nice, accommodating, kind and thoughtful. Taking all of our concerns about masks and social distancing into consideration, Dave captured our ceremony, the gathering after and also our special request to go to the grounds of our original venue to take some photos. Dave fit right in with my and my husband’s family so well. It was a treat to work with Dave and we all had so much fun with him throughout the time he was there. We are so grateful and thankful to Dave for his kindness, flexibility, professionalism and beautiful photos. If you’re plans have changed due to Covid and you’re having a backyard wedding or an eventual event at a larger venue, we can’t recommend anyone else than Dave and Documenting Live’s Moments. My husband and I are thrilled Dave will be coming back to be apart of our reception in July 2021. Thank you Dave for giving us a forever magical memories of our most beautiful special day!!

Best ever photographer!

Dave was absolutely fantastic to work with.
Dave was extremely accommodating when we had to make substantial changes due to Covid-19. He was very positive and encouraging during this tough time period.
The day of the event, Dave was extremely polite and had great suggestions for posed family and friend photos. He was very observant and took many candid shots throughout the day.
Now that we have seen the proofs, we are doubly impressed. The photos are gorgeous! I did not realize so many guests were photogenic :)
We highly recommend Dave Lang as a wedding photographer.

We met Dave first at my cousins’ wedding and immediately clicked with him. On our way home that night, we knew our search was over and connected with Dave the following week. A wonderful experience!

Dave was super flexible and accommodating to what we needed. We didn’t have a huge wedding but Dave still treated us as if he was spending the whole day with us. He was dedicated and very professional during our photos. He was great with keeping things organized throughout the entire process—initial contact, planning meeting, conducting the wedding photos. We also decided to have Dave put together our wedding album. While we did have to wait a bit longer than expected (end of the school year for him), we are thrilled with the album!

The BEST Photographer!

From our first meeting, I knew Dave would be great to have documenting our wedding. He is nice, communicates well, super responsive, and the photos are just perfect. I could not think of anyone better to work with for our wedding. He is so fun and made me relax and enjoy having my picture taken. All of our guests commented that he was not intrusive at all! My wife and I agree that photographer Dave Lang was the perfect choice for our wedding. His photography captured all the laughter, smiles and tears of joy from our wedding. He managed to take all of the ceremony and reception photos without ever intruding or slowing down the celebration. He knows what he is doing and the pictures came out great. With Dave being our photographer we had one less item to worry about during the wedding. Between the first consult and the engagement shoot we sent him all of our photo requests and he did not miss a single one the day of the wedding. Dave is very accommodating with my wife and I as well as our guests when he was asked to take impromptu photos during the event.

Dave happily showed up to our outdoors elopement in the middle of winter. While some of our family was shivering, Dave took a knee on the ground which is frozen solid just to get the right angle and joked about almost packing knee pads.
I really appreciate his hard work and commitment. We got the pictures in full quality in a few days and of course they are all amazing.

10/10 definitely would recommend.

Dave and his partner were amazing! He captured our special day back in October perfectly getting every detail we wanted plus more. Very friendly, personable, and flexible. Dave and his partner were great! Everybody involved with the wedding would say the same thing. Dave seemed to be able to capture every emotion we felt with every picture. Both our wedding parties and our families were very happy with him as well. People who had already booked photographers for their wedding were asking us for his info because they wanted to switch to him immediately. Dave was our photographer for our wedding in April and I recommend him highly to other brides! He was organized, flexible, responsive, and the photos were amazing! We had our engagement photos done with Dave and he was so flexible in working on a location with us after we discovered that our original place would not work. I was very hesitant about engagement photos because I am quite camera-shy, but could not have been more comfortable with Dave-and they were amazing with a great variety of shots. On our wedding day, he showed up early and very prepared with his assistant for the day. They were wonderful about keeping us informed and on track as we got ready. One of the things that really made me want to book Dave as our photographer (besides the quality of his work) was seeing him at other weddings. He fit in so easily with the guests and was so unobtrusive, but captured amazing shots. We also had some wedding photos done at another location that day and Dave had some wonderfully creative ideas. His turn around time is phenomenal and the sneak peek photos we received (the next day!!) was such a nice treat! As a bride who liked to be organized and likes things planned out, Dave made this whole process a breeze for us. I HIGHLY recommend Dave for your wedding photographer!

Dave was the photographer at our wedding. Usually us grooms do not have much of a say in how our special day is captured. Of course my lovely bride had many fantastic ideas, but Dave was also quite receptive to my requests as well. He took care of all of the standard shots, but also let my guys and I show some personality, really capturing how special the day was for not only us, but for me as well. He was easy to contact and his picture taking during the ceremony was so seamless, I barely knew he was there, until I saw all the fantastic pictures he took. I recommend him highly, as he truly made our day special.

We met Dave through mutual friends, and several years later, we were really excited to book him for our wedding! Having my photo taken isn't something I normally feel comfortable with, in fact, I would say that I hate having my picture taken and generally avoid photos. In a word, Dave is fantastic!!! Hiring him to shoot our wedding was a no-brainer. We've seen his work through mutual friends and we were absolutely delighted upon learning that he was available on our wedding date. Every step of the way, Dave listened to our wishes and preferences, in addition to any questions or concerns, which he promptly addressed. Dave has an abundance of patience and exudes great professionalism in his work. And there's no ego with this guy...Dave was open-minded and took our suggestions into consideration. We were impressed by his quick-thinking and creative style. Our wedding day was overcast and rainy (good luck, right?), and although we planned to have an outdoor ceremony, Dave and his assistant instantly adjusted when it was announced the ceremony would be held indoors. Once the skies cleared, he whisked us away to capture some truly breathtaking shots with the fall foliage in the background. We are beyond pleased with the final photos, and know we will always treasure them. Book him now, you won't regret it!!!

Dave is organized, flexible, and dependable. Booking him as a photographer was one of the best decisions my husband and I made for our wedding. As a busy bride, starting a new job while wedding planning, I did not want to be consumed with making so many decisions on nitty-gritty details of wedding photography and the wedding for that matter. Dave was easy to work with, gave me and my husband guidance and suggestions on how to proceed with the photos, was flexible with what ever ideas and vision we had for our wedding day. Dave and his assistant trudged through muddy trenches on a VERY hot and humid day for me and my husband, just to get great shots for us! All throughout the process, Dave seemed cool and collected!! My husband and I, our friends and families, are so impressed by his work. Dave and his assistant truly captured our laid back style, our aesthetic, and every emotion of that special day in still photograph. We are all so grateful for his expertise, professionalism, organization, patience, and creativity. Brides and Grooms, trust that Dave will capture all of the best moments of your special day. Dave is great, hiring him was the best decision we made about our wedding. I usually hate having my picture taken, but Dave was calm, organized, and the whole picture taking process- from engagement shoot to getting our amazing wedding photos back- was completely stress free. Dave was easy to plan with leading up the date, and on the day of carried out the plan diligently and professionally. Then our pictures came back quicker than I expected and were absolutely amazing. Not only were all the shots we discussed included, but for every moment I would have wanted a picture of we have a great shot.

Reflecting on the experience what stands out to me is that I really loved the final product. I don't usually love pictures of myself, but the pictures we got back were exactly how I wanted to remember my wedding.

Dave is the best vendor we used (or met!) through our entire wedding-planning process. He balances so much-- he's calm and patient but efficient and effective, friendly and personable but super professional, affordable and incredibly high quality. We LOVE our photos and throughout the process he definitely knew what he was doing, while making our choices all very clear and low pressure. He is a wonderful guy and we so enjoyed hanging out with him during our big day. (We also did an engagement shoot which turned out gorgeously-- he has an amazing eye and again was a joy to work with.) We even had a bunch of photos back the day after our wedding! He is on top of everything and I have zero reservations in whole-heartedly recommending him!

My wife and I were lucky enough to find David through a friend who also used him for their wedding. I can't say this enough - David and his assistant did an AMAZING job. They were punctual, professional, organized, and affordable. To be perfectly honest I don't think he charges enough for his services.
The photos we've gotten back truly and beautifully captured our wedding day. David, in additional to being an organized businessman, is also an exceptionally talented artist. The composition of the shots he and his assistant came up with on the fly during hustle and bustle of the day are stunning. Zero regrets. Book this man.

David captured every moment of our wedding! We can not say enough about how happy we are with our photos! He was so relaxed, yet got every shot that we wanted! He really made an effort to get to know us personally which really stood out to us. He kept in touch through the entire planning process and even helped me draft a schedule for that day so I knew who I needed around and when. He knew that we wanted to catch some of our cocktail hour and he made sure it happened! He was really great about gathering groups together to get the pictures done in a timely fashion. He brought along another photographer Daniel who was also amazing and captured a great shot of us under a rainbow. We couldn't be happier and will cherish our photos forever. Thank you David!

What can I say. Dave was absolutely phenomenal. My wife and I looked at several photographers before we met Dave. He was friendly, professional and extremely courteous. Not only did he do our wedding photos, but we also had him do our engagement photos. Dave was extremely flexible, met us at the location of our choosing and was very patient with us. The day of the wedding, Dave was very prompt and spent the entire day with my wife while she got ready for the wedding. He was there throughout the entire day, helping us and guiding us, making sure we got every photo we needed and made sure we took photos with every guest at our wedding. At the same time, Dave did not interfere with out magical day. Instead, he made sure he captured every moment of our wedding without "getting in the way". The final product was beyond anything we could have expected. The photos came out amazing and Dave was extremely prompt with the delivery of our photos. This review really does not do Dave any justice. He went above and beyond and exceeded any and all expectations we had. Not only would I use Dave again, but I recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer for any occasion. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Thank you, Dave.

As a photographer, Dave brings with him an incredible amount of professionalism and skill. He is easy going and comfortable to work with. I am not used to being photographed and am even often uncomfortable when the camera is on me. Dave made me feel comfortable so I could look my best! Dave’s pictures were gorgeous – his formal group shots were beautifully taken and edited and his candid shots really captured the essence of our wedding party and showed how fun our wedding was! Finally, Dave’s turnaround time is amazing! Within a month, we were in possession of digital copies of our photos. Dave is a fantastic photographer and because of his work, we will be able to treasure our wedding pictures for the rest of our lives.

A few years ago I bridesmaid in my friend's wedding, where I had originally met David. He was a fantastic professional for her wedding and after seeing her pictures, I HAD to have David as our wedding photographer!

Within a day or two of picking out date and venue, I e-mailed David to ask him if he would be available for our wedding. He responded back immediately that he would be happy to work with us, and we had our first meeting with him shortly after.

While his work spoke for him, it's also his personality and demeanor that really sealed the deal for us working with him. He is so friendly and knowledgeable that you immediately feel calm when your head is swimming in wedding details. He not only did our wedding pictures which were absolutely fantastic, but he also did our engagement pictures on the Boston waterfront., also stunning.

I truly cannot say enough about David the day of our wedding, and how he seamlessly blended in taking photos, and was a pro at herding groups of people for our pictures with our families. I have gotten countless compliments about his pictures, and would recommend him to anyone even considering a wedding photographer.

Dave was awesome to work with! From the moment we met we felt like we had met a new friend. Dave is easy going and makes you feel so comfortable. Dave was an amazing photographer and we would highly recommend him to others. He came to our house for the first planning visit and showed us examples of his work and discussed our expectations. We new right away that we wanted to hire him. He was very flexible with the engagement shoot because we had to change the time at the last minute to accommodate another event on the grounds. He made us feel comfortable and was very friendly and approachable. He sent us our photos quickly and gave us full rights to them. At our wedding, he was FANTASTIC. Everyone enjoyed him and he got all the pictures that we requested and then some. Our pictures looked great and we are so appreciative of his hard work and professionalism. Definitely an A+!!!!

We had David do our Engagement & Wedding Photos. For our wedding, we also had a second shooter, Sue.

The Engagement photos came out great-- and we were pleased he was willing to drive to Newport, RI since that's where we got engaged and knew there was some fantastic scenery we could use as the backdrop for a lot of shots. What we loved about David was that he had a lot of creative ideas of his own but was also excited to try some of our suggestions. I think the final product was quite unique. We knew we definitely didn't want anything cliche and that was authentic to us.

When the wedding came I was pleased that David arrived early even though he didn't have to to get pictures of the girls getting their hair done. When I arrived I instantly felt at ease and knew I was in good hands. He was patient, polite and knew just want to do to get all the right shots even when there was a little pre-ceremony confusion! I also love how he has a good sense of humor and was so enjoyable to work with. My guests and my immediate family members were impressed and kept commenting about what a great guy he is. He was always ready, communicating with all my family members, and limo drivers to make sure we got the shots requested on our "shot list". He has such a good eye for shots I never knew could come out so beautiful, I was actually shocked myself.

Sue (will have to ask for her last name) also arrived to the church where the guys were to get a good feel for where everything was. She was immediately welcoming, easy to talk to, and had great guidance. She also made sure that we got the shots we needed in the time that was given.

The two of them made a great team on our wedding day and were equally a joy to work with. We were pleased that next day we got about 75 photos to preview next day! I could not have asked for better photographers, great job, we look forward to working with David again for more of life's special moments!

I would highly recommend David! When my husband and I met David we knew instantly that we wanted him to be a part of our wedding day. David is extremely professional and passionate about his work. We were hesitant to do the engagement photo session since we don’t love being in front of the camera; however, David made us feel incredibly comfortable and at ease. The photographs are absolutely breathtaking. On our wedding day David put everyone at ease. Our entire wedding party and family members were impressed with his professionalism and talent. The moments that David captured of our wedding day are truly incredible! Whenever I look at the pictures they take me right back to one of the best days of my life. Dave is an incredible photographer that I would highly recommend! It was truly a pleasure to work with him. He put my husband I completely at ease and made us feel comfortable from the very first time we met him. Coming from somebody who doesn't love getting their picture taken, we really loved that he included an engagement shoot in the wedding package. David and his assistant Julie were extremely professional. I had a great time working with them. They made sure everything went off without a hitch. David was quick to respond to all my e-mails and answered any questions I had. He helped me remain calm on my wedding day and reassured me everything was fine when we were running a little behind. Julie was even kind enough to give me her own hair elastic towards the end of the night. If it wasn't for the two of them keeping me and my husband informed on what to do next we wouldn't have known the procedure of the night, they truly stepped up when the venue lacked communication. I would highly recommend David and look forward to working with him in the future.

Absolutely outstanding. My wife and I are a military couple and Dave had absolutely no issue at all working around our hectic schedule. I am a bit delayed in writing this review as I wanted to make sure that I did this review justice. I cannot say enough great things about Dave. Him and his second shooter Jenn Liang did an amazing job at our wedding in June. Prior to our wedding he reached out to me and I provided him with a timeline of the day so that he knew where we would be and when as well as a detailed list (with bridal party names) of "must have" photos. They were both dressed professionally. Arrived at my parents home early. Introduced themselves to EVERYONE. While getting ready they blended in very nicely allowing us to get some pretty amazing candids that I had no idea were taken.

When we were getting ready to leave for the church we realized that we forgot my veil, my dad ran in to get it and accidentally somehow found my first communion veil. Since my mom, myself and all my girls were in heels, Dave volunteered to run inside to get my veil, which I thought was an incredibly nice and helpful thing to do.

At the venue I noticed that he communicated with all of our other vendors to make sure that they were ready and aware if there was something that they needed to pay particular attention to. He also made sure to give out business cards to all of our guests with a link to where our photos would be as well as a date that they would be available for viewing.

He is an incredibly talented photographer and definitely customer service oriented. We had about 15 sneak peeks sent to us within a day or two and all of our photos were available within a month! Not many photographers are able to do such great work in such a little time frame.

My husband, myself, our families and friends were so impressed and happy with the outcome of all of our photos. We would recommend him in a heartbeat!

David and Matt were absolutely wonderful to work with! Dave took time to set up an engagement shoot to get to know us. When the big day arrived, Dave and his assistant Matt were punctual and kept everybody calm and relaxed. We choose to take a lot of the family pictures before the ceremony and David had already researched the venue to find great picture locations. David made sure to give all our guests the website to access the photos from the wedding. Very soon after when we able too view our photos we were so excited to relive our wedding day. David was able to capture every moment and the tone of the day. His pictures are not only beautiful, but emotional because they show all the excitement , laughter, joy, and tears of the day. We were thrilled to hire David Stubbart for our wedding and engagement photos. We found Dave through our friends- he was their wedding photographer and we loved their photos. Dave was a joy to work with. From our first emails, to our planning meeting, our engagement shoot and the big day, he was there every step of the way, always very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and responsive. He answered all our questions and made everyone feel at ease. Even on the big day which was very hectic, Dave was so organized and prepared to capture all the right moments and all the shots we requested. He had it all planned out perfectly. He knew the perfect lighting and timing for everything. Right after our wedding he even sent us about a dozen sneak peek photos. At the wedding he handed out cards with his website so that our guests will know where to see all the photos when they are done. We cannot wait to see all the rest of the wedding photos!! Dave captured our wedding day perfectly and really went above and beyond with his commitment to get all the shots we wanted. Being the detailed person I am, I went over a 17-slide powerpoint presentation of photos I liked from pinterest and other wedding blogs with him and he worked hard to get as many as possible into our day. That's true customer service! His demeanor was very professional and really helped keeping our timeline on track. I can't imagine the day going as smoothly without him!

Everyone (including us!) says photography is most important at any wedding but spending several thousands of dollars on wedding photography wasnt an option for us. However, we wanted good quality photos and a photographer that would relate nicely to us. A friend recommended Dave.. David exceeded my expectations, and I can't recommend him highly enough. Spending thousands of dollars on photography wasn't an option for us, nor did I want a photographer to shadow me for an entire day, taking pictures of my shoes and me getting ready. David was willing to work with what we wanted, which I feel also saved us a considerable sum of money.

The pictures of the ceremony are beautiful, and family and friends have already remarked how surprised they are that he was able to capture certain moments since he was so unobtrusive. We also did some group photos after the ceremony, and again, David captured great moments without being pushy.

I'm not a huge fan of getting my photo taken, but working with David was easy and one of the best wedding decisions we made.

David is a phenomenal photographer and I would recommend him without hesitation. We booked David to shoot our wedding after seeing him in action at my cousin's August 2011 wedding.

David and his second shooter, Matt, were a pleasure to work with. The whole wedding party felt at ease while working with them. David went above and beyond the call of duty to capture images, he even climbed a step ladder at one point! David and Matt were very organized and ensured that all of our requested images were captured.

David is a class act. My husband and I are so happy with all of the amazing photos from our Aug 10th wedding. The whole process (from meeting with him almost a year before the wedding to the actual day) was smooth and stress free.
I had a few ladies in my wedding party that weren't very big fans of having their picture taken, but David was so great and made everyone feel very comfortable...nobody felt "put on the spot", which put me at ease as well.

We met with several photographers, but as soon as we met David we knew that he was the perfect fit! We were looking for someone who was professional but also fun, and David brings both. And to have Laura as well was a fantastic bonus! They are both so incredibly talented and creative! And we were particularly impressed with their ability to get great family shots with all of the little kids in our family, even when the little ones needed some coaxing to smile and laugh. Our photographs from the day are beautiful! We are so happy to give them our highest recommendation!

We were extremely happy with David's service as our wedding photographer. He beautifully captured both our wedding and our reception. Over the years his intimate and creative shots have helped us remember the day. As importantly, he was incredibly easy to work with, very flexible and responsive to our wishes. The photo shoot was done very efficiently without posing a disruption at all throughout our wedding and reception, and we were able to quickly receive the processed pictures. We would not hesitate in recommending David for anyone planning a wedding in the area. Wedding planning can be very stressful with so many details to make decisions on. As soon as my husband and I met with David for the first time we knew that our wedding photography was one thing that we would not have to worry about! David was flexible with availability. We had a few weekends where the weather was not ideal for taking our engagement pictures, David saw to it that he was available to do our engagement photo session on a day where the weather was perfect. When it got closer to the wedding day he was always quick to respond to my questions and e-mails. On the day of the wedding I found that David was a very calming presence amidst all the crazy energy of the day! He captured so many moments while they were happening so everything felt very natural and our wedding photos truly reflect that. I would wholeheartedly recommend David to anyone looking for a wedding photographer, we are so grateful to him for capturing the moments of our special day so beautifully!

First let me say this...I am a TOTAL control freak and, like most brides, had a vision for our wedding that was really important to me. One of the most important things was photography and my wish list was this:

1. I wanted to work with someone who made us comfortable and put us at ease and blended into the day. It was REALLY important to me that we didn't have a photographer who cared more about his own "art" then our day.
2. I wanted someone who took beautiful pictures and could capture the emotion of the day.
3. I wanted the services to be affordable.

We interviewed about 5 different photographers and well, we knew Dave was "the one" within 5 minutes of meeting him. He came to our house with a totally laid back and friendly attitude (but too chill) and a beautiful portfolio.

His pricing and contract were straightforward and affordable and our first session with him to take our engagement photos was so fun. He spent way more time with us then he was obligated to and we have beautiful pictures as a result that we used for our Save the Dates.

When the wedding day came, Dave and his colleague Matthew Jason of Matthew Jason Photography showed up and were just fantastic. They instantly blended in with our friends and family and they truely caputured the emotion and the events of the day. We will cherish our wedding photos forever and always be grateful that we didn't "feel" like it was being photographed as it happened.

We look forward to working with Dave as our family grows and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and personal photographer.

David did an outstanding job at my daughter’s wedding. He was WONDERFUL to work with – I have been to wedding where the photographer takes center stage. David meshed into the background and was always a calm presence within the chaos of the day. I would highly recommend having David do an engagement photo shoot – it gives an opportunity for the bride and groom to get comfortable with David and vice versa. That way on the wedding day, they are not starting from square one. That is what we did – and it definitely was worth it.

He managed to capture so many moments that bring us back to the specialness of that day – a special hug, a quick kiss on the hand, a first look at the bride, and a shared smile between two people. The best way I can describe it is - somehow he captured our emotions even more than he captured our pictures.

Dave was just simply amazing! Our wedding day was one of the hottest days of the year, and Dave managed to capture it beautifully! You would have never guessed that we were all a little extra shiny and warm. He found the best locations for beautiful lighting, and the pictures turned out beautifully! My husband and I were so grateful to have such gorgeous pictures from our big day, and to have some truly special and meaningful moments captured in such a wonderful way. Dave is a passionate photographer and very good at his job. At any special occasion, what we all want is someone who takes the pictures we would if we weren't enjoying ourselves at such a special occasion. He does just that. Friendly, unobtrusive and professional, he took our engagement and wedding photos and they are truly amazing. My husband and I were considering using Dave and Matthew as our wedding photographers after we saw some of Dave’s work on his website. When we contacted him, the first thing Dave wanted to do was setup a meeting so we could all get to know each other a little bit. Within minutes of meeting it was quite clear to us that we found what we were looking for. Outgoing, friendly, professional and honest people who would have a keen eye for opportune photos. We wanted photographers who would be able to interact with our families and be able to catch those candid moments that no one could predict. I must say, after seeing what they captured for us we truly couldn’t be happier. Our pictures are AMAZING! The lighting for our day, while not controlled by Dave and Matt, was perfect but that doesn’t always equal perfect pictures. They knew exactly where to put us in the shots and also coached us into feeling comfortable even when positions or hand placements might have felt awkward at first. Seeing the final shots, we can’t believe how natural everything looks. We would be thrilled to recommend Dave or Matt for anyone looking for professional and memorable work.

I was lucky enough to have known David from years ago and when we were looking for a photographer, I knew he would be a perfect match for our wedding. David took the time to explain all of his packages with us and show us many examples of the wonderful work he has done in the past. We thoroughly enjoyed our engagement photo session with him as he is a funny and professional photographer. On the day of the wedding, he went right along with us and we never felt rushed to do anything. He captured so much of the night that I'm sure we never would have seen! Thank you, Dave! We were on a budget for our wedding, but David made it work so that we got the most out of his time. He was very professional and easy to work with. Most of the time I didn't even know he was there taking photos. I was very impressed with the final product, there was a good mix of fun and artistic photos along with the traditional shots you want of the day. I was especially impressed with how he interacted with even the most demanding mother of the bride! I would highly recommend him to anyone planning their wedding.

My husband and I reached out to Dave through an internet listing and from our initial contact with him, we were treated with professionalism, timeliness and respect. During our initial face-to-face meeting with Dave, we asked him all of our questions (mine focused on types of shots, my husbands focused on technical camera stuff) and we knew by the end of our lunch meeting that we were totally comfortable with Dave capturing our day! On the day of our wedding, the Stubbart team captured all of our memories. From the ceremony through the end of the reception, they captured everything- from posed shots to great candids! Dave got back to us before the 4 week turnaround with our sneak peak at our pictures and they were fabulous. Not only did my husband and I love them, but our families loved being able to see our pictures online so quickly. I would highly recommend Dave and Laura- and I actually did to my sister, who contracted with the Stubbarts for her September 2011 wedding.

Dave and Laura covered my wedding on 4/21/12. They were great to work with: professional, but relaxed and fun. He did a great job keeping everything moving and on-schedule without making anyone feel rushed. Dave even took it upon himself to find a park near my venue for outdoor photos! They captured all the important moments while being completely unobtrusive. His photography package is very reasonably priced and his work is impeccable. We are very happy with the job Dave and Laura did that day as well as the results!

I have known Dave since college and had always been so impressed with the attention to detail and moments he could capture with his photos. My husband and I had already gotten married in Texas, but were planning a beach ceremony up in Massachusetts, on Nantucket, to share with our friends and family. One of the most important elements of my wedding planning was having a photographer who could not only provide gorgeous shots of our special day, but also surprise me with special moments that would otherwise go unnoticed by a busy bride and groom. I jumped at the chance to have Dave share the day with Tom and me. Not only did Dave deliver on everything that we discussed ahead of time, but I have so many photos that I would have missed otherwise, captured by Dave's amazing eye and attention to detail. At one point, walking towards the wedding tent on the beach, Dave stopped us to capture a piece of seaweed that had blown up on the beach and landed in the shape of a heart! Talk about a good eye. It is one of my favorite pictures, because it was just sitting there, waiting to be captured by Dave’s keen eye. My family and friends also could not praise Dave more. He was extremely professional, calm, and very prepared. I had asked Dave ahead of time to capture the entire wedding group, around 58 folks, in a shot together on the beach. Dave brought a step stool with him, all the way on the ferry and to our ceremony, the bus to the beach to be able to get the height needed to capture the group in the midst of the beautiful backdrop of the beach and sunset. Mucho brownie points for my parents who again, could not say enough about Dave! From the group shot, to candid shots of Tom and I, to his signature shot with the Polaroid, I could not ask for more!

Thank you again Dave! I love looking back through my pictures and how you helped capture our day.

I used david in may 2009 for my wedding. He was GREAT!! I love all my pictures that were taking. Very easy to talk to, flexible, nice, takes lots of great photos. Dave did the Photography for my September 18th wedding. He did an amazing job! My photos were beautiful! He is extremely professional and easily approachable if you have questions or requests of any kind. His prices were very reasonable as well. I have known David for many years now, so I already knew what a great guy he is. I saw his work on his website before I was even engaged, so when I did get engaged, choosing David as my photography was a given and the first order of business (after deciding on a date!). My husband didn't get a chance to meet David until the day of our wedding and told me after the ceremony, "by the way, the photographer, he's awesome." We loved working with him and Diane (Laura unfortunately was sick that day and Diane Hanlon was kind enough to take her spot). He was so easy and fun to work with. I feel our entire wedding was captured through photos and nothing was left out or missed. A schedule was designed up front so we could keep to a time schedule and any must have pictures were taken. I had many compliments the day of the wedding and after when people saw the pictures. A photographer is so important when it comes to a wedding, I'd recommend David to anyone and look forward to working with him again in the future!

David was the photographer for my wedding in March 2012 and he did a fantastic job. Not only did the pictures come out better than I could have imagined, but all of my family and friends raved about how professional and charming he was! We all know how hectic things can be when planning a wedding, but I can honestly say that David made the photography portion stress free! He asked for a list of what pictures I specifically wanted which enabled him to take pictures throughout the night without having to ask what I wanted. In addition, I somehow managed to sign the contract providing the incorrect date for my wedding (OOPS!) and David dropped everything and came to my rescue! Our wedding pictures are captured moments of the most magical day in our lives... we were given nothing short of perfection!

chris and I found Dave on a add from craigslist , we live in Pa and had chosen Boston as the setting of our wedding , From the very first conversation with him ,I was totally relaxed . Dave and Laura did an absoult beautiful and amazing job of photographing our wedding .And as a bonus received a history lesson ! Since we are not from the Boston area we trusted Dave to find location to do some outside photos his natural photographic sense was what we were looking for . Dave and Laura photographed our wedding on August 6, 2011. We met Dave and Laura while they were photographing our friend’s wedding and we knew right away that they would be fun to work with. At our first meeting I expressed to Dave that I disliked being photographed and that the thought of someone following me with a camera terrified me. Dave was very understanding and promised that he would make me feel comfortable on my wedding day. Dave and Laura put me at ease as soon as they walked through the door and their sense of humor took my mind off of the camera allowing them to capture so many incredible moments that day.
Our families couldn’t stop talking about how considerate and kind Dave and Laura were to everyone at our wedding. Dave even gave my cousin a few tips on how to use his new digital camera. Dave found many creative locations to photograph the bridal party and we have many fun pictures that we will treasure forever. My husband has known David for a long time & when it came time to plan our wedding & find a photographer he thought of David. At this time David was just getting into wedding photography. We met with him to go over our ideas & what types of photos we wanted from our wedding & he & his wife Laura were very professional & very fun to work with! I have already recommended them several times for engagement photos (which my friends did use them for!) family photos & other weddings. Dave photographed our wedding on August 14 in Cambridge. We knew he was talented based on the photos we saw on his website, but he was also a lot of fun to hang out with on our special day! He took the time to meet with us prior to the wedding to get to know us, which we really appreciated. He not only took fantastic photos, but he also helped put us all at ease and our family and friends were very comfortable with Dave. His photographic talent is apparent when you view his work, but what really sets him apart is that he has a great personality and can make getting your picture taken a good experience. David and Laura were recommended to us by two separate friends/couples, and when we first met them, we felt that we had an instant connection. They were just plain awesome to work with, from the first meeting through the follow-up work after our wedding. Aside from their photography being of a very high-quality craftsmanship, creativity and artistry - stunning really - , the manner in which they worked showed great professionalism and sensitivity to the range of events and emotions of our big day - capturing everything from the solemn and serious to the sheer joy and happiness. Dave photographed our wedding in July of 2009 as well as our engagement photos a few months earlier. His wife Laura assisted him on both sessions and we could not have been happier with the results. To this day, we still work with Dave on making touch ups to photos that we will give as gifts or get larger prints of. His prices were amazing, his professionalism was unwavering, and his attitude was great.
