We honestly don’t think we could have pulled off our wedding without Katie. From start to finish, she made the entire process—both leading up to the day and on the day itself—feel calm, organized, and under control. She thought of details we never would have, guided us exactly where we needed to be, and somehow kept everything (and everyone) perfectly on track.
Katie was the calm in our chaos and made everything look effortless, even though we know it wasn’t. Because of her, we actually got to relax and enjoy the day, knowing everything was being handled.
She went above and beyond—keeping us on schedule when we needed a nudge, hauling all our decor to and from our venue, even serving as our makeshift cocktail hour table. She was so kind and thoughtful, constantly checking in and making sure we had a drink in hand.
We genuinely loved working with Katie and are so grateful for the huge part she played in making our day so special. -

Hiring Designed & Detailed and getting to work with Erin as our Lead Planner was by far and away the best decision we made for our wedding and the biggest contributing factor to what made it such a success!
From initial conversations with Alison, to over a year and a half of planning with Erin, and wedding day assistance from Cydnei, the entire D&D team were absolute rockstars and the best possible support system as we navigated this journey. Through every big contract, small detail, and millions of questions in between, Erin was always incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, professional, patient, and kind. We always had complete confidence that she would never steer us wrong and being able to have that trust in her and having her deliver time and time again was truly invaluable. In addition to all of her expertise and organizational skills, Erin’s joyful and calming demeanor kept a very stressful process as seamless and relaxed as it could be and we were so excited on the wedding weekend when our family and friends got to meet her firsthand and sing her praises as well.
We would not be married today, if it weren’t for Designed & Detailed! -

We are beyond thrilled that we chose Designed and Detailed as our wedding planners. From the very beginning, Erin made us feel completely supported, and on our wedding day she truly worked magic. Absolutely nothing went wrong, and we know that was because of her. Every detail was perfectly timed, every transition felt effortless, and we were able to simply enjoy ourselves without a single worry.
What really stood out was Erin’s thoughtfulness. She went above and beyond in so many ways, even bringing us our favorite drinks right after the ceremony so we could have a quiet moment together before diving into the celebration. That personal touch meant the world to us.

Flawless coordination and peace of mind – Thanks to Erin!
Working with Erin through the 90-day package with immediate planner access at Designed and Detailed was easily one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning journey. From the moment we met her (nearly 2 years before the big day!!!), she was incredibly responsive, supportive, and resourceful. She shared super helpful planning tools, regularly checked in with us, and was always just a quick message away—which brought us so much peace of mind during the chaotic months leading up to the big day.
Once we hit the 90-day mark, Erin was in full action: she helped us build out a thoughtful, detailed timeline, kept us on track with to-do lists, and personally reached out to all our vendors to keep them in the loop. As the wedding drew closer, she was on every final vendor call and email, smoothing out any wrinkles before they even had a chance to stress us out. She was truly the calm in the storm, always answering our questions with confidence and warmth, and even soothing our nerves when the pre-wedding jitters kicked in.
On the wedding day, Erin was a dream. Calm, organized, upbeat, and totally in control. Both of our families adored her—and that says a lot! There was even a behind-the-scenes issue with our cake. While everyone else was panicking, Erin stepped in, got on the phone, handled it like a pro, and made sure we had our dream cake before we even finished the ceremony. We didn’t even know about the drama until after the wedding—it was just that seamless.

We had an INCREDIBLE experience with Designed & Detailed, specifically with Alison, our day-of-coordinator. We went with the package where you get early access to your planner a year in advance to start with big picture timeline things. We had a very productive meeting a year out and I were so excited to continue working with Alison. Alison and her team kept in touch with things like Black Friday deals and wedding expo info and answered questions while we waited for the 3-month coordination package to start. Then when that started, it was SO rewarding and fun working with Alison to execute the vision. She suggested so many great ideas and kept everything well-organized, from timeline items to vendor coordination, and questions here and there. Then when the wedding day came, she took care of SO much behind the scenes and I (the bride) could relax knowing we were in great hands. She handled several things with the florist and band and caterer that I wouldn’t necessarily have even known about. We got so many compliments from our parents and bridal party on how on top of things Alison was. When going to a wedding without a wedding coordinator (yikes😉) it’s so apparent how much value someone like Alison and her team can bring. Alison also did a great job facilitating the ceremony and a second line parade during cocktail hour. She made sure a trolley and bus were on time as well and told the photographer what people we had on our photography shot sheet. It was SO GREAT working with her and I’m going to miss it (already do!) THANK YOU again and I hope D&D has a great rest of the 2024 wedding season! 💖 -

We loved working with Erin via the Partial Planning Package for our September wedding! She was focused, calm, and present throughout our 2-year engagement, and offered unique insight and expertise into the ins & outs of our day. All of the vendors she referred me to were top-tier, too! I am so thankful to have had her guidance, and ensuring I was not the point of contact for my vendors on my wedding day was priceless to me. 10/10 -

Absolutely recommend Katie (Senior Planner) and the entire D&D team. I had secured the services of the major vendors but knew that I wouldn't be able to keep on top of all of the little details as the big day approached so decided to engage D&D for the 90 day day of planning and coordination. Katie and I jived at the first meeting and she flawlessly made sure to review our contracts, reach out to them with my requests, reminded me of details that I would have NEVER thought to ask and most importantly, made my wedding day stress free, flawless and amazing. We threw at her a Korean ceremony, added MUA vendors, Korean speaking vendors, multiple pivots AND a 4:30 am makeup start time which she took all in stride, Not to mention a snafu in flowers, a sick assistant, a broken car... she was a pro. I am sad that I won't be communicating with her in the future, she feels like a friend now. Go with D&D and Katie. You won't be disappointed. We knew from the start we wanted a day of coordinator and couldn't be more grateful and confident in our decision to have one and that we went with Designed & Detailed! I immediately connected with the owner, Alison, from the moment I spoke with her on the phone and loved her enthusiasm (and personal connection from her own wedding) at our venue and vendor choices. When we were assigned our lead coordinator Cydnei a few months in advance, she was insanely helpful with her advice and with building our entire timeline, coordinating with our other vendors to craft the most efficient day. Her past experience working with the majority of our vendors made us feel even more confident in our choices and that our day would go according to plan! We weren't too stressed while planning the wedding, but Cydnei's calm demeanor and sage words of wisdom continued to keep us stress free, especially on the rehearsal and wedding days. On our big day, everything felt flawless and beautiful. Cydnei and her team treated us, our wedding party and entire family like VIPs and everyone has been singing her praises since! We ended up sticking right to our timeline but never felt rushed and truly felt like we could be in the moment and enjoy it. Cydnei and her team did a great job setting up all of the decor we brought while we were taking portraits with the bridal party, expertly fielded questions from family members during the reception, kept us (and our family!) hydrated, fed and supplied with tissues to blot tears, and was such a gem. At the end of the night when we were totally exhausted from partying all night, Cydnei made sure all of our decor, personal items, food leftovers, my bouquet and any other items went home with the proper people so we could go straight to the hotel and pass out. We are eternally grateful to Cydnei and her assistant Nicole for making our day special, easy, and memorable. They are absolute rockstars and will be given our first born child as a token of our gratitude!!! If you're getting married, you need a coordinator and you need to hire Designed & Detailed, you will be so glad you did! -

We highly recommend having a coordinator to help with day-of logistics. As a couple, we’re both very good planners. We felt confident that when it came to planning our perfect wedding, we had it all under control. However, we also knew that we wanted to be able to relax and enjoy the day as it was happening, so hiring a coordinator was a no-brainer for us. Designed & Detailed, specifically our coordinator Erin, was an excellent choice. In the months/weeks leading up to the wedding, we were so happy to have a partner who really knew what they were doing to ensure no detail was unaccounted for. And when we had a hiccup that was out of our control on our wedding day Erin kept her cool and helped us stay calm as the situation was resolved. No one else ever noticed anything went wrong. Working with Designed & Detailed was one of the best vendor decisions we made for our wedding. During the initial consultation call with Alison, we felt reassured that we would be genuinely supported throughout the process. There is no way our wedding day would have gone as smoothly without our lead planner, Katie. Throughout the 3 months leading up to our wedding, Kate was communication with us and our other vendors on a regular basis to refine the day of timeline and coordinate day of setup. She brought up questions that we had not considered and presented ideas that we loved. Katie’s help at the rehearsal dinner was incredibly beneficial, especially since none of us had facilitated a ceremony in the past. We appreciated her focus and ability to reel everyone in. Her communication and rapport with the other vendors was so important to us and something we recognized throughout the planning process. On the day of, Katie and Jenna (our assistant coordinator) collaborated so well with our DJ and photographer to ensure the best day. Everything went perfectly and better than we could have dreamed. Her communication with us and support throughout the day was so helpful and helped ease our nerves. We can easily say that we were not worried about a single thing because we knew they had it under control. We had complete trust that they were going to execute our vision just as we had hoped (which they absolutely did), and if something were to have gone awry, they would have troubleshooted it without any problems. Katie and Jenna from Designed & Detailed were both absolutely instrumental in making the entire weekend flow seamlessly. We are so grateful they made entire process so smooth and beyond happy we decided to work with their team. -

Designed and Detailed saved my life! I was hesitant about booking a wedding coordinator and thought I could do it all myself and boy was I wrong! Alison was my lead coordinator and did so much behind the scenes and busy work I do not know I could have managed without her. She was always so sweet to take on new tasks and her bubbly personality kept my wedding energy up the entire time! I would recommend them to anyone and would hire them over and over. 500000/10! -

Hiring Designed & Detailed for our wedding was truly the best decision we could have made. We originally wanted to try to avoid hiring a coordinator and thought we could save some money by doing it on our own, but it became clear that there is just too much to keep track of and organize. We ended up hiring Designed & Detailed for their 90 day coordination plan at the recommendation of friends who used their services previously. Erin was absolutely amazing!! She helped us make sure we knew what we needed to be doing and kept us on track with a timeline for the months leading up to the wedding. Before the wedding, she took over all communication with our vendors, which was incredibly helpful. Erin was contacting vendors and organizing details that we never even knew was necessary. She also worked to create a very detailed day of timeline, which made coordinating with vendors, wedding party and our families much easier.
On the day of, Erin and Ari did an amazing job of making sure that everything went smoothly! They were the ones who kept our other vendors on track and on time. Additionally, Ari made our visions come true by fulfilling all of our decorating dreams and making our reception space beautiful. I have no clue how we would have set-up all our decorations without having Designed & Detailed to do it. During cocktail hour and the wedding, Erin and Ari also kept track of collecting cards and gifts, and they kept the cards in a safe location. This ended up being another little detail that was something else we didn’t have to worry about while we were having fun with our guests. At the end of the night, they helped pack up all our decorations, gifts, etc. and helped load them into our cars. My husband and I did not touch a single thing to set up or clean up. When you are spending a large amount of money on a wedding, you want to make sure that everything runs according to plan. Hiring Designed & Detailed was the best money we spent in our wedding planning to ensure things went smoothly. We truly had the best day and did not have to worry about a single detail the entire time. We cannot recommend Designed & Detailed enough for their wedding coordination services! -

Booking Designed & Detailed was one of the best decisions we made with our wedding. You cannot put a price on the professionalism and expertise we received with their services. Our wedding planning process had a lot of bumps in the road due to COVID and a very uncooperative venue, but our D&D team was there every step of the way to make things as smooth as possible. Christina was there through the entire planning process to keep us on track and handle communications and details that would have otherwise added a lot of stress. On the day of the wedding, Christina and Colleen worked tirelessly to make sure our wedding was perfect. I’m almost positive that the venue was still difficult on the wedding day, but my (now) wife and I never had an inkling because those two would not let a single piece of that fall on our shoulders. We are both so grateful to the entire D&D team for doing their part in making our wedding day perfect. You will not regret hiring them!! -

My husband and I were fortunate to meet a member of the Designed & Detailed wedding planning team when we were showing our wedding venue (Salvage One) to our family. There are three reasons why we loved working with Designed & Detailed:
`1. Knowledge of Salvage One – Designed & Detailed owner Alison had gotten married at our same venue and had a strong rapport with all of the vendors.
2. Value for service - Unfortunately, we were a COVID couple and adjusted a 140 person spring 2020 wedding to an intimate 18 person fall 2020 wedding with a livestream for the remaining friends and family. Alison was supportive and available every step of the way. She went above and beyond hopping on multiple calls to develop a new plan that best fit our needs and also giving us perspective from the industry that helped inform our decisions.
3. Solid Execution on day of wedding – On our wedding day Alison handled any challenge or hiccup with such grace and composure. The type “A” in me has a hard timing giving up control but Alison was extremely calm, cool and collected. It made for an incredible experience.
We enjoyed working with Alison and would highly recommend Designed & Detailed to others planning weddings in the Chicagoland area!

Alison was by far the most important person I hired on my wedding day. I honestly can't imagine my wedding day without her. Our entire day was so absolutely awesome and we really have D&D to thank for it, it was soooo stress-free and Alison was completely in control from beginning to end. If you're on the fence about hiring a day-of-coordinator, trust me and hire this team immediately... they do so much more than advertised and they're involved way beyond just your wedding day. I worked with Alison and Mallory for months up to the day of my wedding, and Mallory for the rehearsal and the day of. They were amazing! Everyone kept telling me I was such a "chill bride" ... would not have been without Mallory! Made my life easy and my day smooth.
