Our November Wedding was perfect from start to finish. Ashlie Sakitis, and her team, went above and beyond to ensure the day was a success.  Our guests are still raving about the reception. Polite, professional, kind, and courteous are just a few of the many positive things to say about Ashlie and the entire staff. Highly recommend this venue for any event, but our wedding was nothing short of incredible!  Looking forward to hosting there again.

As a restaurant and hotel, the Delamar provided delicious food and drinks along with superior customer service for my wife and I along with our guests.

Michael and Christina Merturi worked closely with us and our planners/vendors throughout the planning process, which provided assurance to my wife and I that everything would be good to go on our wedding night. They were attentive and flexible throughout the process, working with us to ensure every detail was as we wanted. Staff are fantastic -- friendly and consistently checking in and making sure everyone is taken care of.

We were also deeply impressed by the entire banquet team, especially Akbar (Banquet Manager), Angel, and April, whose professionalism and warmth made us and our guests feel like royalty. Every course was served flawlessly, every request was anticipated, and every guest was made to feel special.

The Delamar itself is a dream wedding setting — elegant, romantic, and timeless, with the beauty of the harbor as the perfect backdrop. The atmosphere was magical, the food was spectacular, and the service was truly world-class.

Getting married at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor was the best decision we could have made! I can't recommend it enough - it's a must book for your wedding!

The gorgeous venue speaks for itself, but I truly cannot sing the praises of Michael and the entire L'escale / Delamar team enough. What I assume is normally a stressful process, was so easy and calm with Michael. He was the most incredible planner and I couldn't imagine having to plan a wedding without him! Him and his team not only went above and beyond on our wedding day, but throughout the entire planning process. They were so patient, kind, knowledgeable, timely, helpful - the list goes on. They made my husband and I's wedding day absolutely perfect from start to finish. They executed every single vision we had and it was everything we could have wanted and more. It was a dream and the most magical day of our lives! It's been a few months and my husband and I, and are our guests, are all still all talking about the phenomenal service at our wedding. We got multiple texts and calls from guests afterwards saying how blown away they were by the service. From our planner Michael, to the wait staff, bartenders, the hotel receptionists - every team member was outstanding.

Also, it wouldn't be right to not mention the FOOD! The food at L'escale was a big reason we initially chose the venue, and lived up to the hype (and then some)! Our guests all commented how it was by far the best wedding food they'd ever had. Every single bite was incredible and presented so beautifully. We're still dreaming about the food!

Our wedding was incredible - the most beautiful and memorable day thanks to the amazing Delamar venue and l'escale Team! Cannot thank Michael and Christina enough for their attention to detail, flexibility, and overall thoughtfulness during our planning process and throughout the weekend in making sure this day was perfect for us and our guests. Michael checked in on us during the evening making sure we were ok, and if we needed anything at all. As the venue is extremely elegant itself, the service is only better. The entire staff was so attentive, and the food was top tier. We could not recommend this venue and team more.

Top tier venue and staff! The Delamar team provided exceptional service at a five-star venue. Michael, Ashlie, Akbar and Angel, the catering and events team we found to be incredibly responsive, detail oriented, and most of all competent, from planning to execution. We especially loved the tasting menu selection process and experience. Our budget and planning needs were met and the team went above and beyond to do so, including providing recommendations for gratuity for broader team to help us with planning. Highly recommend The Delamar / L'escale in terms of value per dollar.

From the first meeting with Michael Merturi, I knew we would be in great hands! Michael, along with his sister Christina and the rest of the staff at L’escale, are the dream team! They are experts at what they do and were an additional layer of vital support throughout my planning process. They also made me feel really special and made it fun! They knew how to take what I was looking for and incorporate it into their venue perfectly.

The food was five stars and I had multiple guests share the steak was the best they ever had! People were certainly blown away by the quality and level of food, which is not typical at most event venues.

On the day of, I was able to relax and enjoy knowing that I had a caring and professional team.

The venue was also the perfect mix of waterfront venue, with an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, with a glamorous, unique ballroom that also felt intimate for my 110 guests. Everyone was blown away by the beautiful setting.

Having the hotel rooms at the Delamar upstairs worked perfectly for us to stay over and do the ‘getting ready’ shots. The newly renovated hotel rooms are elegant and chic, and provided the perfect backdrop for photos.

We also hosted out of town guests for breakfast at L’escale the next morning, which was seamless and delicious as well.

All in all, it was the perfect wedding venue and the team felt like an extension of family and friends by the end. I look forward to returning to L’escale for many years for anniversary dinners!

We had our beautiful wedding at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor in November 2023. We were just so thrilled with every aspect of our wedding and all of the staff at the Delamar. We could not have been happier.

Ashlie worked with us very closely throughout the entire time while we planned our wedding, from the setup of the ceremony space and placement of the band to the food choices and coordinating with our vendors. Ashlie always had time to answer quick questions whenever we emailed or called. There were so many ways that she helped to make aspects of the wedding extra special for us. She knew that I wanted space for a good-sized dance floor for a big fun dance party, and she adjusted the tables to make that happen. Ashlie also helped to work with me on creating an after-party in the next room which was incredible.

Our guests felt like they had traveled to a special destination boutique hotel for the weekend (even though we are from close by in NYC and the surrounding area). They loved the style of the hotel and felt the service was exceptional. April and Mckayla and the team at the Delamar helped us every step of the way with our hotel block and anything we needed for our hotel rooms. Our guests received Prosecco upon check-in, and just spending time greeting them in the gorgeous lobby was a highlight.

Our vendors also told us how great it was to work with Ashlie and her team. There were so many special aspects of our wedding that I can’t even list them all here. Ashlie set us up with Matthew, our lighting guy, who together with our florist, House of Flowers, truly elevated the space of the already beautiful room, incorporating the existing elements of the Delamar.

Innumerable guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food was - the sliders had rave reviews (one friend said it was the best slider he ever had), everyone was talking about the pumpkin ravioli (including foodies who have high expectations!), and our guests loved the sushi and lamb chops. Months later my friends are still mentioning the excellent cocktails, particularly the espresso martinis. Both the steak and the Branzino had excellent reviews all around, and everyone loved the kale salad and the gratin dauphinois. The food and service were at such a high level, which was noticed and appreciated by our guests - Akbar and Angel did an incredible job. My husband and I didn’t have time to eat our dinner, and they made sure to set aside our steak for us to have later. The brunch the next day was delicious, particularly the French toast, and the room looked lovely with the flowers from our reception centerpieces from the night before.

Overall, everyone felt that the Delamar was the classiest, most beautiful wedding venue. We truly recommend the Delamar for a wedding with our highest level of enthusiasm.

Just had my wedding on September 29 and let me tell you - everything was spectacular!!!! Since the first day touring the venue through our wedding everything was absolutely amazing.
Christina from l'escale was such a pleasure to work with over the past year++. She was so helpful each step of the way, always listening to my ideas (and executed everything perfectly), quick to respond - she’s excellent!! The staff is also beyond amazing. Everyone was so kind and helpful to make sure the day was perfect and I couldn’t be happier with everything. The food - impeccable. There was no bad option when choosing the menu. Everything was absolutely delicious and worth the price given the amazing quality.
The venue (l'escale/delamar) speaks for itself. Everything is absolutely beautiful there and the location on the water is breathtaking. It makes you feel like you’re somewhere in Europe. I just loved the whole vibes of the hotel. And again staff is so accommodating and so very kind.
The wedding weekend we stayed at the Delamar and I wish I could live there. The rooms are eloquently beautiful. The harbor view room views are spectacular. There are robes supplied in the rooms and are So comfy. Slippers which are always a nice touch. And so many amenities.
We worked with April for our stay and she was always so amazing and helpful. She made sure everything was all set for whatever our needs were. if there was something missing, she was on it to fix it! She's super sweet and was such a pleasure to work with during the wedding planning.
There is so much more I can go on and on about. truly not one bad thing and I am so thankful to April, Christina, and the whole l'escale/delamar staff for everything!!!!!!!

The Delamar helped to make our dream wedding come true! Our coordinator, Christina, was the best! She was attentive, knowledgeable, and such a sweetheart. Her and the staff have exceeded our expectations. They set up all our decorations and worked with all our vendors on the day, so we didn’t have to worry about anything. The staff seamlessly let us know when it was time for each part of the event, speeches, cake cutting, etc. The food was AMAZING!! This is a 5-star venue. Where do I begin? The Delamar in Greenwich is hands done the BEST wedding venue in CT. You truly do not feel like you are still in CT. You and your guests will feel as though you have been transported to Europe, on the southern coast of France. The food is absolutely phenomenal. It is not your typical wedding food. This is exquisite fine dining food served to our guests. Every single person was raving about the food. The steaks were all cooked to perfection and the Branzino is to die for. The cocktail hour on the terrace was incredible and I can't wait to go back for the pumpkin ravioli! The staff was incredible. Everything was on point. There was not a single issue. I sat back and watched them work their magic. Always on top of everything and every request. Management was a dream to work with. Michael was AMAZING. So easy to reach and communicate with and had me on time the whole day. He really put me at ease on the day of. I knew I was in good hands and everything s not only going to look amazing but it was going to be amazing as well. It went as smoothly as it did because of him and his incredible team. Through our multiple meetings and conversations, we felt taken care of and he helped us achieve our dream wedding. We want to thank the whole staff, bussers, servers, bartenders, and management for all their hard work in making our wedding day the best day of our lives! Now for the hotel room!! Our suite was absolutely stunning. With a beautiful view of the water and a huge balcony to enjoy a cup of coffee, there was plenty of room. So much space to do hair and makeup and the staff was beyond sweet. Valet, front desk, housekeeping, you name it and everyone was amazing and so kind. April was so sweet in showing us the room and explaining our options. She was so patient and kind. We did not want to leave. In the event of rain, cocktail hour would be held in the lobby which is so beautiful as well. Every thought is covered. We are so excited to come back next year and stay the night for our anniversary. My guests have not stopped talking about how beautiful the hotel and the event space was. If you are looking to impress then you have come to the right place. 

Our daughter and new son-in-law were married on July 20th at the Delamar Greenwich. What an amazing and beautiful wedding and experience! Not only was it everything we had hoped it would be, it exceeded our expectations of what the perfect wedding day and weekend would be!

The whole process of wedding planning was stress free with no issues due to the professionalism and expertise of Ashlie and Michael at the Delamar. Before we even signed our contract, Michael did a conference call with us and went over all details and approximate expense of what we should expect from outside vendors which was really helpful. And we were initially unsure if we were going to do the buyout of L’escale restaurant. Ashlie and Michael assured us we could make that decision months after our contract signing when we would have a better idea on number of guests and if we were having a band or DJ. We ultimately did do the buyout of L’escale and the two spaces flowed beautifully together. Ashlie and Michael also provided us lists of different vendor recommendations. We highly recommend working with Frank at House of Flowers in Mamaroneck - he was so easy to work with and our flowers were gorgeous!

We worked mainly with Ashlie during the rest of the wedding planning process. From menu tasting to budget to details for wedding day, everything was handled beautifully, all questions were always promptly answered, and she was always available to communicate with any of our vendors (florist, band, photographer) if needed.

We have to say that the food for the wedding at the Delamar/L’escale was outstanding! We knew the food at the restaurant was delicious but we weren’t sure if it could be so good on such a bigger scale. No need to worry at all! The food, from hors d’oeuvre to dessert, was absolutely delicious, presented beautifully and did not taste like it had been prepared for a big catering event, but rather tasted as wonderful as if you were just ordering at the restaurant itself. All the entrees were so good; the filet mignon was probably the best we’ve ever had.

We also did a room block at the Delamar. April was a pleasure to work with there and working with her was a very easy and stress free experience. Our guests loved staying there!

We were so happy with our daughter’s wedding and the whole wedding process. The day flowed beautifully. So many of our guests told us how exceptional the wedding, the setting and the food were! You cannot go wrong if you have your wedding at the Delamar Greenwich.

From vendors to managers and Michael (coordinator) made us feel so at home… and I was in awe of how well orchestrated everything was.

There was one small request I noticed that I asked to change on the menus right before the ceremony and Ashlie was able to do that for me and have everything re printed in time before sit down so seamlessly.

The touches and care of each staff member made it the most memorable and fun - guests loved the special touch of having our signature drinks pre made to grab during cocktail hour and to freshen them up, they topped each one off with a little more fizz to make it more enjoyable.

I was able to have the most amazing, stress free, worry free, issue free wedding day and enjoyed every single second. Everything was absolutely wonderful, magical, elegant, seamless, and beautiful this weekend! I know you don’t control the weather but what a gorgeous day to show off the perfect Connecticut setting of the Delamar. The items that made this venue stand out was the service and the food & beverage. April was wonderful to work with and made sure the guests that were staying at the hotel were taken care of and she even upgraded my suite which made my stay even better! The wedding planning process was smooth and made me, as a bride, have confidence in Michael and his team. Their attention to detail was impeccable. My guests absolutely loved the the passed hors d'oeuvres and the plated dinner. So many guests told us how much they loved the food. Overall, my experience working with the Delamar team was wonderful. As a bride, they were so kind and ensured that I had a nothing to worry about on my special day.

Not only is the venue gorgeous and conveniently located, the service we experienced every step of the way—from our initial consultation, to setting up the room block, to the wedding day—far exceeded expectations. Michael truly went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and he always made himself available during the planning process to answer even the smallest questions. The day of the wedding, the staff had everything handled, so we did not have to worry about a thing. They even had all of our personal items (table numbers, welcome sign, etc.) sent up to my hotel room following the reception so we could focus on enjoying our guests and the reception. The food was absolutely phenomenal, and guests are still talking about how it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding reception. I would without a doubt host another event here and have the highest regard for the event, restaurant, and hotel staff.

From the start Michael and his team at L'Escale were consummate professionals. From the first tour until the cake top was packed into our car Michael was there every step to ensure that we could actualize the dream wedding we envisioned. He seamlessly coordinated with our numerous vendors to ensure they had proper timing to organize, set-up, execute, and tear down. Even with a potential rare nor'easter coming, Michael kept his cool, walked us through all contingencies, and ultimately made sure that the weather did not affect our day. The venue itself was beautiful and comfortably fit 225 guests, a 9 piece band, and a large dance floor that was utilized all night long. It was a night to be remembered, with top notch food, amazing staff to guest ratios, and every need or want anticipated before we could request it. Our wedding day was even more perfect than we imagined thanks to Michael and his team. Everything was handled flawlessly from the planning stages all the way through clean up at the end of the night. Cocktail hour and the reception flowed perfectly from food service to wedding party entrances, first dances, and all other events throughout the night. Our guests raved about every detail of their meal and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out.

My husband and I could not have been more excited to plan our dream wedding. We were so happy when we realized that we had found the perfect location for our special day - Delamar Greenwich Harbor! I had been eating at L'Escale for many years and knew that the food would be exceptional (I was not disappointed - our wedding guests could not stop telling us how amazing all of the food was!). We loved the setting - a beautiful, romantic hotel on the water. Most of all, though, we were so grateful for Michael and his team that helped us make our dream wedding a reality. From the first time we walked into the Delamar Greenwich Harbor we knew we were in for something special. We felt that we were transported to a boutique hotel in Italy. Situated on the Long Island Sound the views are stunning especially if you are there at sunset. We were there to consider a wedding for our daughter. Once we met Michael Merturi we were pretty much sold. We have worked with other wedding specialists in the past, and there really is no comparison. Michael is patient, kind, and has an amazing attention to detail. He will take your vision and turn it into to a reality. From the initial planning stages to the day of the event Michael gave us all the support we needed. He was quick to respond to any question we had. On the day of the wedding, a day that could create havoc in any family, we felt very prepared and we could enjoy the day without any worries. He even helped the groomsmen with their boutonnieres and creative ways to fold their pocket squares. He made sure the wedding party was calm, relaxed and catered to their every need. On account of him everything flowed smoothly and the night was a huge success. The food at L'escale is amazing to begin with and the same quality was evident at the wedding. The staff was over the top, and a special shout out to Akbar and Angel. Michael suggested vendors including the photo booth, bus company and platform for the band which was very helpful. We were able to have the ceremony on the outside patio which was then transformed to a lovely cocktail hour. Dinner was superb and one of the highlights was being to able to walk onto the patio to enjoy the beautiful view of the harbor. Every comment we got from every guest was amazing, from the food, to the service, to the hotel. Our guest gift bags were handed out perfectly and the rooms are exquisite. Another shout out to April who helped us set up our room block. Our guests were able to enjoy brunch the next day which was plentiful and delicious. My husband's comment was that he had more fun at this wedding than any other wedding we've been to including our own! Thank you to the Delamar and L'escale for a truly magical weekend. xo

I had the honor of working with Christina and Michael, they both blew me away with their professionalism, customer service and attention to detail! He went above and beyond to make sure our vision became a reality! Michael even helped the bridal party by folding their tuxedo pocket square!! Delamar Greenwich is obviously a stunning venue for a wedding and that is what pulled us in for our October 2022 wedding. You never know who you are dealing with when you book a venue regarding staff or a planner or the execution of your day..you just hope it goes to plan. In this case you are getting the absolute best. We met with Michael, who was very kind, to tour the venue and we’re then given to Christina to do literally everything else. From the beginning she was on point. I was a very anxious bride and I’m very meticulous. I sent a lot of emails and had a lot of questions. Within hours Christina had responses, suggestions and phone calls scheduled with me to chat. She put me at ease and let me breathe, which if you are planning a wedding, is a gift itself. By the end of the planning process I most definitely thought of her as more of a friend than someone who was planning the most important day of my life. The day of came and she and her team handled every single detail from where to hang my neon sign to vendor organization to jazzing up my centerpieces. Every step of the way she was there telling me to breathe. At the reception her team (Angel and Akbar) along with the staff were absolutely perfect. We were waited on hand and foot and were constantly being checked on and asked if anything needed to be done. My guests even commented on how kind they were and how hard they worked. I will never in my life forget how perfectly our wedding day went and neither will my guests. Christina, Angel, and Akbar; thank you for being such kind and talented people and making the best day of our lives even better than we could have imagined.

Choosing to work with the Delamar Greenwich Harbor for our wedding reception was such a highlight of our wedding planning process. Christina has been such a joy to work with from the moment we toured the space with her, to the day after our reception. Christina answered every single one of my many emails within a timely manner and had the most gracious amount of patience for my many questions and requests. She could not have gone more above and beyond for us throughout our wedding planning process than she did; We are forever grateful for her and all that she took care of for us on our special day.

The venue was absolutely spotless and superb when it came to the cleanliness. The helpfulness of the staff from the moment we met everyone at our tasting to the very last moment of our wedding night. Akbar and Angel ran our event seamlessly and it could not have gone more smoothly. When you choose to have your wedding at the Delamar, you are choosing to have an elevated event with a differet level of service and cusisine. Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious both the cocktail hour and entree selections tasted. The team that we had with us on our wedding day was out of this world. From the food, the cocktails, the staff and the service... Our wedding day was everything and more we could have ever dreamed of.

Every aspect about our wedding was perfect! The food was amazing, the staff was attentive, courteous and professional and the flexibility and responsiveness of our event manager, Michael, made planning and executing our special day completely stress-free! From recommendations for vendors to suggestions around the order of events and menu choices, Michael made sure we would have the perfect celebration - and we did!

We just had our wedding 2 weeks ago and were incredibly impressed by Michael and his team. It was such a great experience and absolute delight working with them. Their impeccable taste, thoughtful suggestions, attention to detail, flexibility with outside vendors and seamless timing in everything made the wedding stress-free. The food was phenomenal which is often not the case at weddings. So many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding they had been to. The staff were a complete class act- so professional while also really friendly. Our band even commented on how well they were treated. My husband and I recently had our Wedding at L'Escale in Greenwich C.T. When we began our search for a Wedding venue, we contacted Michael Merturi, Director of Catering at the L'Escale Restaurant. Well, that was the beginning of an Amazing journey. Michael was wonderful as he assisted us throughout the entire planning process. He initially gave us an entire tour of L'Escale and the Delamar Hotel, and sat down with us and answered in detail all of our questions regarding food, prices, music, churches in the area, flowers etc. Michael was an Amazing resource in guiding us to local venders in our planning process, as we did not live in the area. He was so professional, organized, knowledgeable and the L'Escale and Delamar staff was also Amazing. My husband and I had a small, intimate Wedding that was just perfect. The guests were all raving about the food, service, the view of the waterfront, the beautiful ambiance at L'Escale and the Amazing accommodations at the Delamar Hotel. We couldn't have asked for more. My husband and I had the most beautiful and memorable Wedding day and we wouldn't hesitate to give L'Escale, Michael and the staff a 5 Star review. We just wished that we could repeat that day all over again. In fact, we are planning to return again for our 1 year Anniversary..

My daughter's wedding reception was at L'escale. We worked with Michael Merturi for 17 months planning an event for 140 people--that ended up at 120 due to covid. Because of covid concerns, we made use of the entire space, including the restaurant so we could spread out. Tables were spaced well and people had so much room to move around. The dance floor was the perfect size for 120. Nobody felt crowded. What a magical night. Michael was amazing. I am a discriminating, meticulous consumer of services, and Michael met every request with patience, creativity, and responsiveness. He worked with us assiduously on every detail of our menu, the wine choices, and special desserts. The night of the event, he took over all coordination and was by my side constantly with reminders of what was going to happen with 8 minute, 5 minute, 3 minute notices quietly in my ear. Michael even approached the bride and groom and reminded them that they need to eat and that would be a good moment for them to do so. (He also sent up a plate of cocktail hour food to their suite upon our arrival at the hotel so they could sit for 15 minutes by themselves and enjoy!) Everything went off like clockwork, and as mother of the bride, I could relax, knowing I was in great hands. The food was incredible--upscale, high quality, delicious and plentiful. Every guest told us they had never been to a wedding like this and how much they appreciated it not being a "typical" wedding ballroom or menu. The kitchen took care of all of our guests with dietary needs. The venue itself is warm, sophisticated, and right on the Greenwich harbor--adding a south of France vibe. In addition, the room had wonderful acoustics so the band did not dominate the sound. People could still talk and be heard. The connection to the Delamar Hotel was incredibly convenient for out of town guests and the photos of the bride groom from their suite overlooking the harbor were wonderful. I would highly recommend L'escale for an upscale, elegant, sophisticated wedding that has a relaxed south of France feel. Just perfection!

May 28,2022 was a magical evening, it was my son’s wedding. This venue is breath taking, and the event was so well organized I did not have to worry about anything. Michael and his crew were amazing they made sure all went on schedule and that everything was perfect. I honestly cannot thank Michael enough for guiding us thru every detail and making sure that all we had to do is enjoy our evening. I have been to many weddings and venues, and this is by far the most exquisite venue with a beautiful view of the harbor and the most delicious food.

A magical wedding! My daughter and son-in-law got married at L’escale at Delamar Hotel Greenwich on May 21, 2022. Every aspect of the wedding planning process was made effortless and actually enjoyable with the help of Michael Merturi. I cannot say enough about his incredible thoughtfulness, honesty and attention to detail from the very first time we toured the venue right up to the night of the wedding. Michael listens, guides, suggests and executes the plan flawlessly. His level of professionalism, and obvious expertise as a banquet manager and wedding coordinator, inspired our confidence and trust. Not many mothers of the bride can say they were actually able to relax on the “day of” because I didn’t have to handle, worry or double check a single thing – Michael was in touch with all of the vendors and made certain the day of set up was perfect. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was. The exact quality of the food at our tasting was replicated on the night of the wedding - It was as if the kitchen was making dinner for a table of 4 and not a room of 140. Michael is really one of a kind and we are thankful for all the hard work and effort that he and his staff put into making our wedding perfect! If you are looking for a gorgeous venue, high quality cuisine, and flawless execution... look no further!

Our wedding at the Delamar was in October 2021 after three cancelled and postponed weddings that were supposed to take place in NYC. We found the delamar coincidentally and we think we may just be the luckiest covid couple of all time. Christina and Michael, the event directors, were incredibly detail-oriented, thoughtful, friendly, welcoming, and organized. They thought of everything. We were impressed with their work from start to finish. The party was the most fun
wedding we've ever been to and it was our own! The food was absolute outstanding, the ceremony location and cocktail hour were beautiful right at sunset and the party so fun and full of joy. No part of the day could have been better! They gave us opinions when we needed help and supported our decisions when we wanted to stick with our plan. I originally wanted to get married at a more "unique" venue, but these people know what they are doing! They take the stress out of everything which makes planning fun; they think of all the little details that will never occur to you; and they take pride in their work and it shows. Worth every penny, would do it again a million times over!

Absolutely fabulous! Working with Christina to plan my daughter’s reception was a wonderful experience. She was flexible with last minute changes and requests, and was always calm and reassuring. My husband and I were married at l’escale which is attached to the Delamar Hotel. The venue was absolutely stunning and everyone we work with was wonderful. Michael, Director of Catering for l’escale, was the most AMAZING person to work with. He thought of things we didn’t and had our best interest in mind the whole time. My husband and I got married at L'escale Restaurant part of the Delamar Hotel in Greenwich CT just about a month ago. We worked with Michael Merturi throughout the entire wedding planning process, and he made all of the difficult/stressful planning SO easy. His attention to every small detail of our day as well as his knowledge of running wedding events in the past, really came to light. He's a pro and has been doing this for years, and that really showed. He was attentive to all of our needs, accommodated our large headcount, and made us feel so comfortable the day of the wedding. He constantly checked in with us throughout the whole night and made sure we had everything we needed. Alongside his extremely professional waitstaff, bartenders, etc., the night went perfectly. Michael and his team went above and beyond by even ordering additional seating for our ceremony, and shifting our ceremony to cocktail hour in record timing. Dinner service was stellar and of course, the food was delicious. Michael worked super well with all of our vendors (band, lighting, cake, florist, etc.) and made it so that I didn't have to worry about anything except just enjoying myself the day of. He took care of everything! Also to add, the hotel staff at the Delamar were super knowledgeable and attentive throughout our entire wedding planning journey whether it involved creating a wedding block code, blocking off certain rooms, or accommodating our needs the day of the wedding itself. We worked with Kayla throughout the whole hotel booking process and she was always willing to give us an update on how many rooms were blocked and answered all our questions with ease. We also were able to coordinate with the dockmaster docking our family boat in the harbor in front of the hotel for the duration of our wedding weekend which was super great. All of our wedding guests really enjoyed their stay and were impressed by how beautiful the hotel and entire wedding was. This place is exceptional and if a great option if you're looking to get married in the harbor by the water in Greenwich.

We got married yesterday at L’Escale and it was the most magical and memorable wedding I have ever been to and not just because it was mine! We did a weekend getaway with family and friends at the Delamar. The wedding day, the ceremony and cocktail, were outdoors with the harbor view which was so gorgeous. The reception was both outdoors and indoors. We did the full buy out which was so worth it. The following day we had a beautiful farewell brunch at the hotel too.
We worked with Mike from L’Escale who was also our wedding planner for the whole weekend.
It was really hard for us to find a venue, because we were looking for a boutique feeling so that we could create an intimate setting for our special day. The moment we met Mike, immediately we knew we were in great hands and that we wanted to close the deal and work with him! Not only is he fun to work with, he brings so much value to the table from planning to execution, and he really made the wedding one of a kind! The wedding was planned to the point where everything literally just flowed. He made sure that all the details were in place to make our wedding as personalized as possible! I cannot recommend both working with Mike and also getting married at the Delamar any more.
The hotel was so flexible given these unknown days with Covid and helped us re route and change plans as needed with no problems at all! It was very helpful and considerate how dynamic they were with us!

Lastly I want to also touch on the food aspect. Every dish is made on the spot. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the raw bar in the cocktail hour which had such an impressive representation. Our guests kept telling us how delicious and fresh the food was!

My husband and I got married at L'Escale at the Delamar Harbor Hotel last month and I cannot say enough about the absolutely incredible experience we had! Our wedding was perfection, down to the tiniest details, which we owe completely to the venue, the hardworking staff, and especially to the director of catering, Michael. Working with Michael was amazing - he goes above and beyond to make sure every bride (and their entire family) has the wedding of the dreams. He was extremely attentive during the wedding planning process and on event day to make sure I didn't have to worry about anything. All of our guests had compliments on the venue, the food and the service and my husband and I were able to actually enjoy our wedding day thanks to Michael and his team!

L’Escale was an absolutely fantastic wedding venue, and we can’t recommend it enough. My wife & I had to reschedule our wedding multiple times due to Covid-19, eventually had to leave the previous venue we booked, but we are so happy we ended up at L’Escale (and especially working with Ashlie), as they were incredible at helping us plan a wedding in a very short time frame. Their flexibility was truly astonishing, as we had to change our guest count and setup in the weeks leading up to the wedding multiple times (as restrictions were constantly changing), and they were very communicative throughout the process in terms of what was allowed and what could be done safely given the circumstances. There was no request too small or too large for them – and they delivered on everything. The space they have is beautiful. We did half outdoors & half indoors…and they laid everything out very, very well…and having that view of the water doesn’t hurt, especially for the backdrop of photos! And somehow, I have yet to mention the food, but that is probably the number one reason why we & especially our guests loved L’Escale so much. The food was incredible, very fresh and well prepared, and we got notes from guests about it for weeks…and still hear about it when we are catching up with family & friends. Because they are a restaurant, any day-of issues that came up, they were easily able to solve (like someone we forgot was vegetarian), and able to adjust to small timeline changes we had to make on the fly. One of the more particular guests that I know says it was the best filet mignon he’s ever had. We cannot recommend working with L’Escale enough…and your guests will be talking about the food for years to come.

Where do I even begin... if you are searching for a gorgeous, 5 star venue, with the most incredible staff/team, management, food, location, atmosphere, service, and more.. look no further!!! I cannot put into words how seamless and phenomenal everything was for our wedding. Being a “covid bride” caused a great deal of stress (we were originally getting married in June 2020 at a different venue). So - we did a lot of research, meetings with different venues, and then accidentally stumbled across the idea of our wedding at L’Escale (after dining at this restaurant for the first time!).

We fell in love with everything about it, but we were completely blown away after meeting Michael Merturi (Director of Catering) there to get general info about a potential wedding. I worked with a lot of strong business/people and vendors (for my own line of work but then also for our wedding and the many changes during covid) and his authenticity, compassion, and work ethic is unmatched. He pours his heart into his clients/customers and this restaurant. I could tell within our initial conversation that our wedding venue search was over and we would be in the best hands for a PERFECT wedding event.

Every meeting, touch point, conversation, was so organized, pleasant, thorough and valuable. Michael doesn’t miss a beat, doesn’t miss a detail, and really listens and implements to perfection. You can tell he wouldn’t accept anything less than perfect and 1000% satisfaction. If you want a venue and coordinator onsite that will take all stress away, help you to customize your dream day, he is your guy and this is your place to be.

When it comes to menu/food/drink adjustments, working with you to meet your budget, customizations to layout/tables/linens, stationary/signage.. I can go on and on — he makes it happen. Normally, you would outsource for a lot of this, but Michael and L’Escale step up to the plate to cover all bases and take things off your plate so you can relax and watch your dream day/event come to life!

Our wedding was the definition of perfect. Guests could not stop talking about every detail from food, atmosphere, service. Each one kept saying it was the best in all 3 buckets from any wedding they’ve been to. Being from Westchester NY, myself and my family/friends have been exposed to A LOT of great business, venues and other weddings... so our “bar” was set pretty high. This experience was like no other. Since it isn’t a large catering hall like other venues, you will get an intimate, customized experience, complete focus and dedication. Food is AMAZING since dishes are made fresh and not sitting around. The Delamar Hotel (GORGEOUS) is connected to the restaurant, so everything from getting ready, accommodations — it’ so easy to knock everything out. Our ceremony and cocktail hour was on the terrace and it was stunning! The perfect spot since year round, it has a covering (can be covered on sides during inclement weather and you will still have that “outdoor” experience and beauty on the water).

You will blow people away with a wedding/event here and you will be so grateful for this decision! Thank you to Michael and everyone at L’Escale for knocking our wedding day out of the park. My only wish is that time slowed down, because we didn’t want it to end! :) We will be reliving it over and over with the biggest smiles on our faces.. looking forward to celebrating our anniversary every single year! My daughter and son-in-law got married at Delamar Greenwich on May 8, 2021. This is the third wedding I have helped plan for my children. I also have much experience dealing with managers and the service industry over many years. By far, Michael was the most professional, organized and pleasant manager I have ever dealt with. His many years of experience was invaluable. Michael anticipated our needs--especially as it related to Covid restrictions and weather. He is genuinely focused on making a couple's special day memorable. My daughter and son-in-law entered wedding weekend with very minimal stress and huge smiles.

Delamar offers an outdoor, covered venue for the ceremony & cocktails with magnificent views of LI Sound. We had dinner and dancing inside using both the private dining room and elegantly decorated restaurant. Food is excellent -- with a Mediterranean flair. All of our guests marveled at the quality of the food and portions were generous. Top shelf liquor and wine was appreciated by all. The bride and groom were treated with special TLC throughout the planning process and especially the day of!

Michael guided us to excellent vendors...band, photographer and florist. Each have worked with the Delamar and Michael. As a result, our experience with the vendors was streamlined and above par.

The flexibility of the Delamar/L'Escale space offers a unique setting for weddings of all sizes. We originally planned for 200 guests but due to Covid we downsized to 80 guests. The venue can accommodate both with comfort.

I highly recommend Delamar for any special event!

We got married at the Delamar in mid March 2021 after our original large banquet hall wedding had to be canceled due to NYS Covid restrictions. We had heard amazing reviews about L'Escale from a coworker who was also having her wedding at Delamar. From the initial interaction that we had with Michael to go over what our future wedding day would look like, we knew we were in good hands! Michael did everything in his power to make sure that our wedding was our DREAM wedding, despite a global pandemic. We can say that all the craziness and cancelations are WELL WORTH it since it all led us to having the absolute perfect day at Delamar. We are so sad that the day is over - We HIGHLY recommend having your wedding at Delamar. It was an absolute dream. All our guests raved that it was the best wedding they've been to. Between the food, service, atmosphere - it was the most perfect intimate and romantic evening. Thank you so much, Delamar. We can't wait to come dine at L'escale sometime soon.

My (now) husband Nick and I got married September 28th last year. While it has taken me too long to write this review, it is not for the lack of fantastic experience at this venue!

When Nick and I first moved to Greenwich, we had a fantastic dinner at L’Escale at the Delamar Hotel and mused about the possibility of getting married there. After we got engaged, this was one of the first venues we visited when looking to get married.

While the space is absolutely gorgeous - great food, right on the water, with a huge terrace, and stunning indoor versatile space - it was Michael Merturi, the Director of Catering who really sealed the deal for us. Michael’s eagerness and professionalism really put us at ease. He brought us seamlessly through the entire process, step-by-step, and was so available to my husband and I, as well as our wedding planners. He comes with so much incredible experience and fantastic ideas. Every interaction in planning was stress-free and positive - from walking the space to planning the menu. Even in the face of possibly moving out entire outdoor ceremony inside (didn’t end up happening, but he was ready!). He truly was instrumental in making our wedding absolutely fantastic. If the location and food doesn’t sell you on getting married here, Michael should!

Akbar, the Banquet Manager, did an amazing job as well. The waitstaff was professional and attentive and our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say about the entire experience. The kitchen and bar staff outdid themselves as well. From the quality of food and drink, you would have never guessed they had seamlessly served almost 150 guests from ceremony to the end of the night.

Additionally the Delamar staff accommodated mostly out of town guests with such ease, allowing for us to take over the majority of the hotel for the weekend.

It was a gorgeous and amazing night we will truly remember for all of the right reasons. My husband and I cannot recommend this venue and staff enough!

The Delamar Harbor Greenwich is a wonderful venue to host a wedding. The professionalism of the entire staff is outstanding and as the MOB, there was not one thing that they said no to; nothing was not an attainable task that would be accomplished one way or the other. It was a lovely wedding.

The Delamar Greenwich Harbor and L’escale are very elegant venues on the water in Greenwich, Connecticut. I truly wish that I could assign more than 5 stars! Right from the start, Michael Merturi, who is the Director of Catering, led us through every step of the planning process and was responsible for the wedding being nothing short of PERFECT!

Not only is the venue beautiful but the food and service was way beyond our expectations. Akbar did an excellent job managing the waitstaff, who were consummate professionals in every way. Our family and friends stated that, “this was the best wedding we have ever attended”, “perfect”, “beautiful”, “awesome extravaganza”, “excellent venue, food and service”, “reception was exquisite”. The compliments went on and on and we have to attribute this to Michael’s expertise, Akbar’s management style and the highly trained waitstaff that they employ.

I only wish that the evening could have gone on forever!

It was love at first sight when my daughter walked into the Delamar a year ago. Her wedding was Saturday night Oct. 26th and I have to say there is nothing we would have changed, even the weather cooperated.

We met with Michael Merturi, the Director of Catering, a year ago and he was with us from the beginning to the very end, ensuring every detail was taken care of. He helped us plan our menu, lay out our schedule, and kept everything moving on time. We had a small glitch when the band forgot the up lighting, but Michael came to the rescue 30 mins. before the ceremony by locating replacements. Michael’s professionalism, attention to detail and calm and easy demeanor helped make the event everything my daughter had dreamed of.

Akbar, the Banquet Manager, did an amazing job overseeing the waitstaff serve the guests with professional precision, the delicious, plentiful and amazing meal.

Our guests had nothing but praise for the entire experience, from the accommodations, to the food, to the professionalism of all of the staff at the Delamar.

Everything was literally perfect - the reception area and outdoor deck were exquisitely set-up, the food was absolutely divine: beautifully presented, attentively and unobtrusively served, and just delicious.

My family and friends tell me the bar staff were expert - perfectly concocting unusual and elegant drinks. I am usually just a wine person, but Emma's friends talked me into doing a Tequila shot!

You (especially) and your staff took care of everything so expertly and gracefully. Every one of my friends and family called or e-mailed to tell me how wonderful the venue, food, and staff were - and, believe me - many of these Greenwich and New York City folks are very hard to impress!

Our experience at L'Escale was INCREDIBLE!! Hands down the most beautiful enchanting evening of our lives. Michael Merturi was our banquet manager/point of contact from beginning to end and I don't know how to do him justice. He was the most professional, accommodating, thoughtful, helpful coordinator I have ever witnessed. The location of this venue couldn't be any more perfect! Our cocktail hour was so delicious and the scene was enchanting. Every guest kept gushing over the venue, asking how did we find this place? The food is still being talked about by our guests and ourselves. It was 10 STARS! We did not have to think about one detail because Michael was right there to ensure it went smoothly. I wish we could relive this day/night because it was truly a fairy tale. My parents couldn't have been happier as well, they did not have one bad thing to say about this venue. Wow! The team at the Delamar really went above and beyond to make this an amazing wedding experience. They put luxury level touches on everything. The food was amazing, the set up was amazing, Ashlie was an excellent coordinator and made sure everything went perfectly. People were responsive to our every question and need. The tasting alone knocked everything out of the park. As a bride, I never went hungry (which I was warned about) Akbar and the banquet staff made sure to always set food aside for us and make us feel comfortable. They did an amazing time sticking to timing and scheduling when serving food and drinks. I would pick this venue and team again and again, we received so many compliments on everything! Truly an unparalleled experience.

The Delamar was the most spectacular venue that we could have ever had our wedding at! From beginning of meeting with Ashlie from Le'scale, she helped us every step of the way. From emailing back and forth for months, the tastings, the accommodations and the multiple daily calls the last weeks of the wedding - everything was nothing less the perfect. The food was incredible, the room was set up EXACTLY as I had dreamed and there was never a question to making it less than perfect. The whole team made our wedding weekend pure PERFECTION. When you are going through a stressful event - The delamar and le'scale team made the process their responsibility as well to make sure all vendors were in communication including the day of so as a Bride and Groom, we were able to enjoy our day from morning to after party! So THANK YOU to Ashlie Sakitis and the whole team for making our wedding a true DREAM!

This was a dream come true. We knew the location, environment, space, food, etc would be top notch (it was) but Michael and his staff is what made this special day, well, special. We planned this whole wedding ourselves (yah that's stressful) and they were thoughtful, kind, beyond accommodating and solely devoted to making us feel like we were the only people they were focused on. Every need—even the little ones we didn't know we had—was thoughtfully attended to. It was a tremendous experience a beautiful event and a day neither of us will ever forget. Michael and his team is what made that possible. I give this place a "10", 5-stars and 2 thus up.

We recently had our wedding at the Delamar and worked with Michael Merturi who is the most incredible wedding planner. He is willing to go out of his way for his wedding parties and was extremely helpful during all parts of the planning and actual event. This was a classy, well-organized, beautiful venue and I would recommend to anybody looking for excellent customer service! They took care of all of our needs and we were extremely impressed with both the venue and Michael. I would recommend Michael's expertise and service to anyone planning their wedding !

My daughter and son in law got married at the Delamar this past June 2019. Working with Michael Merturi, the venue’s wedding coordinator, was a very positive experience and I would highly recommend the Delamar for a wedding celebration. Michael was very organized, responsive to any inquiries or concerns, readily available to touch base both by phone and email. He was very enthusiastic to help us create the perfect event for my daughter - including special changes to the menu and making sure that every aspect of the wedding was exactly as we hoped it would be. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all of the work, time and organization that the wedding coordinator Michael at the Delamar, Greenwich Harbor, CT put in to make sure that our wedding day was the best day of our lives. Michael was prompt in returning all emails/phone calls which is essential when making daily decisions during the wedding planning phase. Delamar/L'Escale was the PERFECT wedding venue!! The setting, the staff, the food, and all of the attention to detail made our wedding (May, 2019) truly magnificent!!

My wife and I recently got married at this venue and there are truly no words to describe how happy we were. For starters, the venue is absolutely stunning. From the picture-perfect outdoor location for the ceremony to the gorgeous space for the party, it was everything we hoped for and more. The venue created the romantic feeling we had hoped for our wedding.

On top of the gorgeous space, the food was AMAZING. We were able to customize each aspect of the cocktail hour and dinner to create the perfect menu. The food that was served was that of a gourmet restaurant. Guests were raving about it the following morning at the fabulous brunch provided again by the Delamar. And the dessert must be mentioned because honestly, it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. At the tasting, my wife and I struggled to select a dessert and ultimately decided to serve alternating dishes to our guests because all of the items were just that good. We even gave our wedding cake as “to-go” favors because the dessert provided could not be matched. Top venue with top food.

Even more outstanding than the venue and the food was the unmatched service that Michael Merturi provided throughout the entire process. At the beginning of the venue search, Michael stated we would not need a wedding planner as he was able to coordinate the night of our dreams and he 100% delivered that. He constantly went above and beyond for us. From spending hours on the phone with us perfecting the timeline of the night to coordinating set-up details with our other vendors, Michael was there for us. He provided advice from his years of experience and helped us fulfill our vision for the night. Michael even went the extra mile right before the ceremony by sewing the button back onto my father’s tux when it unexpectedly popped off. It would be a mistake to pass up on this venue. We HIGHLY recommend getting married at the Delamar in Greenwich, CT!

We were married last weekend at the Delamar and were blown away by the amazing attentiveness and service from everyone at the venue but especially Michael Merturi. He was so calm and helpful in every situation and truly made me feel special and relaxed throughout the whole process. I can't recommend him enough, my bridal party even fell in love with him. The whole night was incredible and it was a night we will never forget! It was a perfect wedding.

Throughout the entire year of planning, Christina and Michael Merturi were exceptional. From the smallest detail to biggest decisions, they were warm, gracious and extremely professional. They are the real deal - a dream team who now feel like family! Their execution on food, service and flow was spot on during our entire wedding weekend. 10/10 rating! The team at the Delamar were fantastic. Michael the event director went above and beyond what we could have ever expected. The hotel staff we also great. They walked our dog, ensured that we had everything we needed in the room and were kind and generous.

The entire team never treated us like just a customer, it felt like an extended family supporting us on our most special day.

I just recently was married at The Delamar. I worked closely with Michael Merturi who was on the ball from start to finish. Michael provided EXCEPTIONAL service from our initial meeting when we were just viewing the venue to holding my hand throughout the months leading up to being right there beside me onsite the day of coordinating and making sure everything was running smoothly. He is an absolute delight. I could not have picked a more gorgeous venue. Not only is The Delamar a very special hotel but L'escale is top notch service and A+ dining. My guests have all been raving about the service and food provided at the wedding. So many have noted that wedding food is often disappointing and nothing to talk about...NOT HERE. EVERYONE will leave beyond impressed with the excellent food. If I could do it ALL again - I absolutely WOULD - and would 1000% do it all again at The Delamar Hotel. Michael is so on top of everything and so nice and easy to work with. I just cannot say enough great things!!!!

We highly recommend l'escale at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor for anyone looking to plan a wedding. Our wedding was basically perfect, in no small part due to Michael Merturi, the banquet manager at l'escale who worked with us on every detail, big or small. From the first day we toured the venue, until our wedding day, and beyond, Michael has been there to answer every question, and make sure everything was perfect. He helped us plan our menu and our day of schedule, kept everything moving on time (without ever making us feel pressured or rushed), worked closely with our vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly, and made sure we got to actually eat the super delicious food that was served (I've heard most brides and grooms never eat at their weddings - Michael made sure that wasn't the case for us).
l'escale is a beautiful venue, with an old world feel. The banquet room where the reception was held is gorgeous, and the outdoor covered patio area where we had our ceremony and cocktail hour is right on the water and really stunning. The Delamar Greenwich Harbor hotel, to which the restaurant l'escale is attached, is also extremely beautiful and some of our favorite photos were taken in the Delamar lobby.
The food at l'escale is fantastic. They are known as one of the best restaurants in Connecticut, and for weddings they cook the meals "off the line" just as if you were ordering in a restaurant. There is no need to preselect entrees months in advance, and no food sits in steaming trays. All the food was top notch, and the bar is lovely - and very high end - as well.
But in addition to the wonderful food and drink and beautiful setting, the thing that really sets l'escale at the Delamar Greenwich Harbor apart is Michael. He saved the day more than once, from sending someone to retrieve my bouquet (when I realized just as I was about to walk down the aisle that I had forgotten it in my room), to having a glass of champagne ready for our loved ones who were giving a toast, to ensuring the right people were sitting in the front row of the ceremony, to helping re-bustle my dress after someone accidentally stepped on my train. Michael is our hero and we could not have had such an amazing wedding without him. Thanks Michael!

Our daughter’s wedding Saturday night at the Delamar was the highlight of our life. It was perfect. The management (Michael Merturi) is in the business of making people happy and he excels at it. His staff (Angel & Akbar) ensured everyone had a great time. The food is gourmet and the service is perfect. I never expected the high quality of food to be so consistent and timely. We never had a wait line at the bar and the wedding had 133 attendees. Even the valets went above and beyond. I lost the key to my car and the valet handled it and found the key while I was at the reception. Our only regret is that we only have one daughter so we can only have one wedding at the Delamar. We would sincerely recommend the Delamar to anyone that wants the best wedding you could possibly have.

I cannot even begin to express how incredible our wedding was at L'Escale this past weekend. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour on the terrace with the water as our backdrop, and our reception in the restaurant with the charming french decor. I may be biased, but from the amount of texts, calls and emails we received from guests afterwards, I can say with certainty that everyone was impressed. You truly feel like you are in another country; another world. The venue was magical, but the service and the food were outstanding. This is not a "wedding venue" or a "banquet hall" -- this is an upscale restaurant that delivers an experience like no other. Wedding food is typically just bearable, but we could not wait for ours! The selections for hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, entrees, and sides are truly unique and delicious. They even customized my appetizer to incorporate an Italian flare. It was really a special culinary experience.

As if that wasn't enough, what also makes this venue special is the event staff. From the very beginning, the planning experience with Michael Merturi was amazing. He is passionate about L'Escale and his team, he has years of experience, and he is on your side 100%. He wants the event to be a success just as much as you do. More importantly, however, he is a genuinely good person. A week before my wedding he spent an entire hour on the phone with me just chatting - offering advice to take the day of pressure off of me, marveling at how exciting this moment in my life is, and just simply being the sounding board and friend I needed. He is truly one of a kind and any bride would be lucky to work with him and the L'Escale team.

We are so so grateful for all of the hard work and effort that L'Escale put into our wedding. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for the wedding of our dreams!!

This review is for L'Escale (not Delamar, as even though they are connected our wedding was technically held at L'Escale). My husband and I looked at one venue, and one venue only, L'Escale! We fell in love with this restaurant years ago while dining outside on their amazing patio on the water and knew that this was the perfect place to have our wedding reception. The food, quality of service, and not to mention the BEAUTIFUL setting made our wedding day SO special. Michael (our point of contact, and banquet manager) was AMAZING. From the very beginning he was just such a pleasure to work with. Seriously. He was ALWAYS available whenever I had a question about anything. The day of my wedding he was there EVERY STEP OF THE WAY, even taking out glasses of champagne and some snacks for us while we had our formal wedding portraits being taken just across the water. Michael even bustled my dress when my sisters couldn't figure out how to do it! I honestly cannot recommend this venue enough.

My now husband and I knew L’escale was the perfect place to have our wedding. It is an elegant place that had the romantic intimate feel we were looking for. But the true reason we were eager to have our wedding there was because we got to work with such an organized, personable guy in Michael Merturi. Michael was always available by email or phone to answer any questions we had throughout our wedding planning process. He showed us right away he was ready for anything that came his way. If one thing wasn’t going to work, he always had other options to go with. Michael made the planning process for our wedding less stressful because we knew we were in such good hands. Come wedding day, everything went off without a hitch. L’escale provided a beautiful location for our ceremony and enough space for our smaller-sized wedding reception.

Absolutely stunning venue and incredibly professional staff. We had the best night ever. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

Our wedding at the Delamar was absolutely magical. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day and we have the Delamar, L’escale and their amazing staff to thank.

We worked with Jessica for the year leading up to the wedding. I had a ton of crazy ideas and diagrams and she was always patient! We looked at a bunch of venues in NYC and Fairfield County and the Delamar was by far the most beautiful and reasonably priced for everything you get. The food was incredible. We ended up with a steak dish and a lobster risotto created for us by the chef. Every steak that came out that night was cooked perfectly. People are still raving about the food. Jessica and her staff also created 2 signature cocktails for us. On the wedding day Jessica was on her hands and knees setting up our dessert table to match my very specific diagram, and it was perfect!

We also worked with Michael, who I am so grateful to for making our weekend completely stress free. He is truly amazing at what he does. He helped us put together a last minute rehearsal the night before, and was available the entire wedding day, making sure I was on time, happy, and that I had a glass of champagne in my hand. At the end of the night he and his staff brought our gifts up to our suite and when we got there they had put rose petals and chocolates on our bed. My entire family has told us how wonderful he was. Even the day after the wedding Michael was there early to help us round up our accessories, signs, and extra desserts.

We also did our rehearsal dinner at L’escale the night before the wedding and again, the food was amazing. The restaurant set up a long, beautiful table to accommodate our party and we were well taken care of, even getting complimentary frog leg appetizers and dessert plates.

I had really expected at least a few things to go wrong on our wedding weekend, but it was 100% perfect! I still can't believe it!

From our first conversation months ago, Michael was attentive, professional and kind. We trusted him immediately and he helped make the evening phenomenal.

With Michael Merturi at the helm we were able to create a wedding at the Delamar/L’Escale that everyone will remember as an extraordinary evening. Michael guided us and the bride and the groom, along the way through almost a year of planning. Making suggestions and meeting our needs, Michael recreated my daughter’s vision and made the wedding a total success. The staff at the Delamar and L’Escale Restaurant paid attention to every detail and attended to everyone’s needs. The location along the water, the Hotel accommodations, the ceremony and cocktail party on the outside patio, the lighting and flowers in the reception room, the exceptional food and all the wonderful vendors whom we worked with at Michael’s suggestion, created an amazing, awesome wedding that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We continue to get thank you notes from our guest saying that it was the best wedding they ever attended. A big thank you to Michael and his staff!

Ashlie, our event manager and coordinator left no stone unturned. She is a calming presence, extremely knowledgeable, pleasant, and much more than what we expected. She asked all the important, pertinent questions to ensure a beautiful, elegant, and amazing wedding. Thank you!!
She never makes you feel pressured, was extremely quick returning our emails, phone calls and texts. If you are looking for incredible food, awesome service, gorgeous location, and an absolutely stunning wedding, with a truly seasoned and intelligent wedding hostess, manager, or just friend, L'escale is the place and Ashlie is really amazing and wonderful.

When we initially went to L'Escale for my husband's birthday, we fell in love with it and decided we had to get married there. Our first contact involved Nancy - a woman written about in other reviews. We met with Nancy, and shortly after booked the venue. From that moment on, Nancy was not helpful. She rarely responded within a week, if that (through either phone or email)! She also misquoted prices for a few things, and did not explain clearly what was to happen in using the hotel's grand piano for our ceremony. In other words, she lived up to what the other reviews said about her.

HOWEVER, Nancy no longer works there. About halfway through our wedding process, I received a call from Darrah explaining that Nancy was no longer with the restaurant and that she would be taking over. Darrah is WONDERFUL! SHe was incredibly detail oriented and fantastic at explaining exactly what would happen. When we went for our tasting, she was very accommodating and thoroughly mapped out with us what our entire evening would look like.

The day of the wedding, Michael (who runs the event the day-of) was INCREDIBLE!! He was always within reach the whole night, but stayed practically invisible! He checked in just the right amount to ensure that we ate and had the drinks we wanted. He also arranged for all of the gifts to be delivered to our hotel room and managed all of the vendors. Despite having to start the ceremony half an hour late due to guests stuck in traffic, the venue somehow managed to get us back on schedule so that guests weren't eating at 9 p.m. Every single person raved about how great the food was, and how exceptional the service was. For example, there was never a line for cocktails during cocktail hour, and servers were constantly within reach if guests needed anything.

Despite a rough start, this venue lived up to all expectations, and with Darrah, I would highly recommend this venue to anyone!

**A Beautiful Wedding at The Delamar – With Just a Few Hiccups**

We recently hosted our daughter’s wedding at The Delamar in Greenwich, and overall, it was a lovely and memorable experience. As the parents of the bride and hosts of the event, we worked closely with the team at The Delamar to ensure everything went smoothly for our 150 guests—and it did.

The venue itself is elegant, with a beautiful covered patio where we held the outdoor ceremony. Thankfully, the weather cooperated, and we were able to take full advantage of the setting for some gorgeous photos.

The food, prepared by L’Escale, was one of the main reasons we chose this venue, and it did not disappoint. The cocktail hour was exceptional—so much so that by the time dinner was served, many guests were still full! The halibut was moist and flavorful, and the burrata was a standout favorite.

We opted for a full buyout to ensure a large dance floor and paid \$45,000 for the venue, which after taxes and service fees (24%) came to about \$60,000. This worked out to roughly \$413 per person, including gratuities. We were told the service fee covered tipping, but there was still some confusion around that. One issue that did detract from the evening was the presence of tip jars at both bars. From the beginning, we made it clear that we did not want tip jars at a private event, and we were told by management that it would not be a problem. We were led to believe the policy was to never have tip jars out, which was comforting. Yet, they were out on the night of the wedding, which felt unprofessional and out of line with the promises made. We paid a large service fee so we would not make our guests feel uncomfortable about tipping. It's tacky to expect guests to tip at a private party and it was embarrassing to me.
There were a few small service issues—but not worth mentioning. Michael, the manager, was consistently kind, responsive, and appeared to genuinely care about both his staff and clients. That personal touch helped make the planning process easier.

In all, the celebration was beautiful, the food and ambiance were excellent, and our guests had a wonderful time.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Excellent catering and service for your guests.

First the good:
L'Escale is really close to my parents house, and it's sentimental for me that it was the old Showboat and was an old staple of growing up in Greenwich. When I called to ask if the dogs were allowed to be part of our ceremony, they were really accommodating. The entire initial visit made it seem like this was by and far the right choice. The location is unbeatable, the ability to have our dogs be part of the event, the water, the ceremony...it was great.

Now, the bad:
Mid-way through the planning process, they started dropping the ball. Truth be told, had we not given the non-refundable deposit, we would have bailed. The superior flexibility they promised fell by the wayside as they started charging us for every little thing. We wanted to have my parents join us for the tasting and they gave us a really hard time about this even though we didn't ask them to make any extra food. They tried to charge us $75 per person - ridiculous considering we could eat in the restaurant for cheaper than that. They finally relented and said they would allow them to join us and as it turned out, they threw a TON of food out anyway, because the cooked to show us portions, but didn't serve any of that - they just let it sit there to show us while we nibbled on the portions they put out.

All along the way they promised to send a vendor list which never arrived in either my email or my husbands. They got snippy with us and insisted they sent it - we were receiving other emails, but not the vendor list. We both have 2 different email servers, so it was hard to believe both our servers sent it to spam, but that's what they would have us believe. When my husband finally said, "Just fax it" they faxed it all right. They sent 2 blank pages through the fax machine. I was ready to just rip my hair out.

We wanted to offer our guests the filet mignon for the $8 upcharge. They said they could calculate how many filets were ordered and just charge $8 times that number. But they they called back and said that no matter who ordered what, for every single guest we would pay the additional $8. They also said that it would cost us additional to have a dance floor, and we just got really disgusted with the entire process.

They kept telling us we hadn't signed the contract when we in fact had, and I had a copy of it on my computer, and they kept asking us to sign it and sending earlier (wrong) versions. It was totally frustrating, and she tried to pin it on me and said, "You're stressed." No. I'm not. I'm dealing with someone who is late to meetings, totally incompetent, can't use a fax machine or email anything, can't accommodate my parents who encouraged us to select this venue and can't remember one day to the next. Lest you think I'm a bridezilla, let me tell you how I was with all the other vendors:

Photographer had free reign, we let her do whatever she wanted because we trusted her.
Cake / Bakery - we told them to do whatever they wanted for decorations and they did, and we totally trusted them.
Music - told the guys to wing it and they did.
Flowers - they showed up and asked what we wanted on the cake and I told her to do whatever she felt was best.

I had no preconceived ideas about anything other than throwing a nice dinner party style wedding for close friends and family. In fact, we had a bunch of kids jumping on us during our dance. I was so laid back about the whole wedding, and this was the one part that was a nightmare.

Then, 3 weeks before the wedding, she was adamant that I tell everyone they need to enter through the hotel side, and not the restaurant side. Um...this information would have been WAY MORE HELPFUL to know earlier so I could include with the invites. I had to email everyone last minute to tell them. Like I needed more crap to do.

During our ceremony on the deck, the bar on the other side of the wall was so loud, none of our guests could hear anything. It was embarrassing. I know the restaurant was in full swing, but I'm surprised they didn't account for this at all by putting up more walls or coming up with some other alternative so that our guests could hear the ceremony. Our officiant only took 4 minutes, literally, I would think if they said to the guests on the restaurant/bar side, "do you mind there's a wedding on the other side of the wall," that the people would have been more than happy to quiet down for a couple minutes.

The only thing that made up for this was the fact that the location is great, the food was fantastic and Chang, who ran our event, was amazing and the servers were great. Very detail oriented and on top of all of it.

But I wouldn't pick this place again.

Do not have your wedding at this hotel. Go anywhere else. I wish I had read a review like the one I am about to give before I selected the Delamar for my wedding reception.

I repeat brides, DO NOT have your wedding here. Why: the management. Let me explain. 1) The banquet manager used another bride's seating chart for my wedding; 2) the Delamar threw out my top-tier wedding cake (you know, for the first anniversary); 3) they also threw out my cake topper (which was 40 years old from my parents' cake) and 4) they never took responsibility for any of their failures.

To be more specific, my parents specifically requested that they sit away from the band, but still in a place of honor. I seated them on the opposite side of the room from the band, but directly next to my sweetheart table. When my husband and I walked out for my introduction, instead of being greeted by my parents' smiling faces, we saw looks of anger. The tables were completely wrong. My parents were seated directly next to the band, practically on top of the speaker. I looked at them helplessly as I took my first dance. A table of my cousins agreed to switch with them shortly thereafter. This now left my parents in the back corner of the room near the bathrooms. When I complained to the banquet manager, he did nothing. He presented me with a seating chart for a completed differently wedding. Oops. Wrong wedding. This huge mistake is simply unacceptable for a venue that purports to be high-end and exclusive.

Also, my husband and I will never be able to celebrate our first anniversary with a slice of our wedding cake. The Delamar threw it out.

Lastly, my parents' heirloom cake topper can never adorn my children's wedding cake. The Delamar threw it out.

Do yourselves a favor and spend your money anywhere else.
