David Alan is more than just a catering company. They are EVERYTHING you need to pull off the wedding of your dreams, especially if you're like me and didn't want to hire a wedding planner. Rachael Anthony was my coordinator and my wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion literally would not have been the amazing night it was without her. If you use David Alan ASK FOR RACHAEL! I wanted an entirely outdoor wedding, and despite the threat of rain, she made it happen (logistically outdoor weddings can be extremely difficult).
Now of course, I'd recommend them solely based on the food. Everyone, and I mean everyone, told us it was the best wedding steak they'd ever had. Perhaps, even the best steak in general. But they are so much more than the incredible food. Rachael helped me bring my vision to life. I had so many little details I wanted executed and a big vision for all of the decor. Rachael spent hours with me planning, organizing and giving insight from her years of experience in the biz. In all the photos you'll see in this post, Rachael coordinated it all for me to genuinely make my dreams come true. She pulled me aside before guests arrived so I could soak it up before the craziness of the day began. I cried seeing all the hard work and details coming together so perfectly. It was all because of her. From my dance floor rentals, tent rental, the champagne glasses and raspberries I bought on my own to cut down on costs (which she let me do) to the bar set up. Everything was just perfect.
Not to mention, she was extremely open and honest in helping me work within my budget and then keeping me on budget! LOL David Alan allows clients to provide their own alcohol and it saved us so much money! Plus, they packed all the rest up for us at the end of the night so we got to keep the leftovers. I have so much love for DAC and genuinely can't recommend them enough. ESPECIALLY if you are doing an outdoor wedding, and/or getting married at the Wadsworth, you should hire them without a doubt. -

Thank you David Alan for catering our special day!
David Alan Hospitality Group catered our wedding on September 6th, 2025, and they were absolutely amazing from start to finish! We had a beer and wine bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, and a buffet dinner with garlic thyme chicken, teres major, garlic mashed potatoes, rigatoni ala vodka, and sautéed green beans. We also had a charcuterie platter that was so fresh and presented beautifully! Everything was so fresh and delicious. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was! The staff was incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive to us and our guests all night. My husband and I had a personal attendant that made sure our plates and glasses were never empty. They made sure everything ran smoothly and that we always had what we needed. It really allowed us to relax and enjoy our day. I want to shoutout Meghan, Ashley and Rachel for being so easy to reach throughout the planning process. Your professionalism is incredible. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and would 100% recommend David Alan Hospitality Group to anyone looking for great food and amazing service on their wedding day! -

Booked with my wedding planner so majority of the communication was done through my planner but on the day of the wedding I had a personal assistant who ensured my husband and I was taken care of and attended to which was nice. I know that is very typical but the person we had we very attentive but not over-bearing. I liked how the company had everything included from table rentals to linen and silverware and chargers. My only thing is it the salmon option I had during the tasting had a mango salad served with it but this changed somewhere along the planning process to a garlic yogurt sauce that I was not a fan of. -

David Alan Hospitality Group (DAHG) was incredible to work with! The food was absolutely delicious, and the team went above and beyond to help us stay organized and accommodate our requests with flexibility. They were professional, responsive, and a true pleasure to work with from start to finish.
We really enjoyed our tasting - it was such a treat to sample so many options, and it made us confident in our menu choices. On the wedding day, everything came together seamlessly, and our guests are still raving about the food.
On top of it all, the value was outstanding. We loved working with the entire DAHG team and highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding or special event! -

We just had our wedding on 5/10/25 and DAHG was a key vendor that made our day so perfect. My dad, who passed away 10 years ago, was actually named David Alan spelled exactly the same way. So when we first booked the Wadsworth Mansion as our venue and saw this preferred caterer it felt like fate. After a tasting we knew it was the right fit. We were so well taken care of by the whole DAHG team from start to finish throughout 2 years of planning including 2 tastings, tons of back and forth emails, final details calls, a day before walkthrough at the venue and most importantly the flawless execution of our wedding event. I can't tell you how many times throughout the night our guests were saying "best wedding food ever" and truly, when we were walking around to try and greet all the tables people were legitimately cleaning their whole plates. The service we received as the bride and groom was absolutely above and beyond - starting from a bridal suite refreshment plate and water pitcher for me and my girls which was the perfect snack to tide us all over through the ceremony. Our bridal attendant brought us drinks immediately after the ceremony and refreshments while we were out taking photos during cocktail hour. They checked on us all night long and refreshed our drinks so we never had to go to the bar ourselves. We really like moscow mules but ginger beer isn't a standard mixer so we did a Costco run and provided that to them, and they were happy to make those all night for us and any guests. And they ended up being a huge hit! I just can't recommend DAHG enough, the entire team is exceptional from the event producers to the day-of staff, and the chefs behind the scenes. They were such a massive part of our very special day. -

Words can not begin to describe how blown away we are by David Alan Catering. My husband and I are huge foodies and when I came to planning our wedding, good food was the top of our priority list. We did tastings with several caterers but when we did our tasting with David Alan we immediately knew they would hit it out of the park. We had people coming up to us at our wedding telling us how amazing the food was. And as if the food isn’t enough reason to book, the team is so kind and eager to help and flexible. They stopped at nothing to make sure our food vision came to life. David Alan is one of the best decisions we could have made when planning our wedding. We chose David Alan Hospitality Group as our wedding caterer at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT. David Alan was among their preferred vendor list and after researching all of the options, it was the best choice. Their pricing was extremely fair, their options were endless, and their staffing was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We worked with Rachael throughout the planning process, who was extremely attentive and always available to help us/answer our questions. On the day of, our main coordinator was Jenaya who was equally as amazing! On top of all this, the food was AMAZING. We loved our food at the tasting and it was just as good, if not better, the day of. Many guests, even 1 month later, are still complimenting us on how amazing the food was. Sometimes at weddings the food can be sub-par, but I can truthfully say that David Alan's food is incredibly delicious. -

I can't even put into words how absolutely wonderful it was to work with David Alan Hospitality Group for our wedding. From the initial call with David to our wedding day with the DAHG team it was an incredible experience. We own David Alan a massive thank you for our wedding day! Everyone involved worked like a well oiled machine! Rachel worked her butt off making sure things went smoothly and worked proactively to fix issues before they became issues. We had the pleasure of having Lauren be our day of helper getting us water and making sure we ate during the whole event which was amazing. The group also helped us coordinate and be an extra set of eyes for our ceremony, helping us time people walking down the aisle. Above and beyond what we wanted from them. The food was amazing everyone was thrilled to eat anything that was put in front of them coming back for more! we had a thanksgiving theme dinner and we couldn't have asked for better. The turkey was carved in front of us keeping it from being dry and everything was fabulous. We recommend David Alan not only for the food but also the amazing staff who genuinely care how our event went. -

Rachael was the most incredible person to work with. She was hilarious and her attention to detail was bar none. David Alan was a dream to work with from start to finish. They were professional, helped with every question I had over the course of 2.5 years, and of course the food was PHENOMENAL. Absolutely perfect. The cost was just an added bonus, more than reasonable. They decorated our venue exactly how I asked. The staff was SO KIND; I had guests comment after the wedding how wonderful the waitstaff was. At one point, I couldn't locate our day-of coordinator (different vendor) and their point person went above and beyond and made sure to grab my groom and I drinks so we didn't have to get up during dinner which wasn't her job per se. Hands down recommend this company 10/10 to anyone considering them. They were truly exceptional and one of our top notch vendors for all of our wedding festivities. You won't be disappointed. BOOK THEM! -

Flawless. At first, we choose David Alan Hospitality Group (DAHG) for our wedding based on our initial feelings—food was amazing, staff was friendly & helpful, reviews were great. As time went on, it began to feel like it was a privilege and an honor to be able to work with DAHG. There actually aren’t enough positive adjectives to describe DAHG.
We have two viewpoints: One of your common wedding planning and one of a global pandemic.
When we thought we were having planning our original 2020 wedding, the staff DAHG was patient, understanding, kind, helpful, supportive, available. I was in contact with Meghan, who was handling our 2020 wedding and we had the privilege of meeting Rachael during our tasting. The food quality at the tasting was AMAZING—we took whatever was left home, nothing disappointed. Anything we wanted, any kitchen notes we wanted to make, was taken into consideration, and held at high regard.
We booked them in 2019 for our 2020 wedding and then pivoted to 2021 due to the pandemic. When we made this decision, the staff of DAHG was compassionate and understanding and always helpful. During this transition to 2021, Rachael took over as our “go to” person. Rachael was there to ease our minds and worries, help up pivot to a safe wedding of our dreams, listen to me when I asked a million questions, respond to all those questions with patience and knowledge. She was there, along for the ride, and, on what felt like a very long journey, felt more like a friend. I don’t imagine that it is ease to work in a hospitality field—dealing with so many personalities and people—but Rachael has an understanding and belief that each couple is just as important as the next. She was.. she is amazing.
Although knowing the catering company is made of little miracle workers, it is also very important to note FOOD. We are a family who loves food. And we must say THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. 5 people in 2 hours texted me to tell me that the filet was like butter! The quality of the food and presentation was at utmost importance to DAHG and you could tell in every dish.
I can sit here and type a 5 page review on how much we loved DAHG and how satisfied we were with them. But, in short, if you need a caterer, don’t bother looking anywhere else—just go to DAHG.

Incredible wedding caterer!
We are so grateful for our experience with David Alan Hospitality Group for our wedding day held at Smith Farm Gardens! Navigating wedding planning during COVID was not easy, but Meghan was amazing to work with as she met each challenge with ease. She responded to my many emails and phone calls promptly, and she was always willing to give advice and recommendations whenever I needed it. We knew after our very first consultation with her that she had an abundance of knowledge and experience in the industry which gave us complete confidence in her ability to pull everything together. Meghan was very accommodating in working with us for our menu selection and budget at our tastings. Ultimately, the food was incredibly delicious and the presentation was beautiful, and we received so many compliments from our guests. Adding their wedding day coordination relieved so much stress as Rachael and Meghan headed up the execution of everything and everyone involved. I was thrilled that our ceremony and reception was exactly as I envisioned it to be! Our wedding day was perfect and seamless, and I’m so grateful to all the amazing people at DAHG who made it possible! -

We got married at the Wadsworth Mansion which recommended David Alan to us. We had a lovely tasting a few weeks before the wedding and were able to ask questions about the menu and make some changes such as toning down the spice in one of the dishes. I cannot speak highly enough of Rachael from DA. Rachael and her team went above and beyond the entire process and day of. She helped us customize our menu to reflect ours tastes and my husbands Haitian culture. What can I say but working with David Alan Hospitality Group was an extremely pleasant experience!! Carley and her staff were so attentive and made the whole process run smoothly from day one until the end of the wedding! We used them for my daughter’s wedding and couldn’t have been happier with every single detail. The most impressive part was that on the day of the wedding is I knew everything was going to be handled professionally and perfectly and that I didn’t have to worry about a thing!!
I really enjoyed the day and could relax knowing that Carley and her team were taking care of all the details. The bartender, Robin was great! They had a bridal attendant to help things run smoothly with introductions and other details. They all seemed to genuinely love their jobs and it showed. Such wonderful people and the food was amazing!! They even had special meals for vegan guests. I can’t say enough good things about our experience and would highly recommended the DAHG for your next event! -

We had our wedding at Wadsworth Mansion, Middletown, CT. We toured the mansion when there was a wedding expo and the a couple who married there before said they did a lot of research and David Alan offered the best wedding food they had. And they were not lying!
Not only the food was so great that a lot of guests talked about it with us after, Meghan and the lady onsite for us that day were very pleasant to work with. They helped us with our table plan, answered general questions about wedding and communicate with the venue so we don't have to go back and forth. On the big day, the staffs helped us with the table centerpieces we brought ourselves and they did it perfectly. The guests were happy with the food and were taken good care of during the dinner. We are so happy we found them and trust on their professionalism. -

David Alan was our second pick for a caterer (our friend is a chef at a restaurant that also provides catering) and we did love their tasting. But when we found out that they could also help us with day-of coordination even if they were not our caterer, we knew we needed their expertise! We worked with Carly in advance of the wedding for renting ceremony chairs, extra tables and tablecloths, and all of our glasses and plates (the restaurant would have had to rent them as well and would have passed an additional charge on to us). We also had Nate for our rehearsal , and both of them were there to make the day of absolutely perfect! It was so nice to just enjoy the moment and know that if something needed to happen we could count on them. We could not have done it without them; all of the details were handled and it all went so smoothly. Working with Meghan and team was amazing. She was extremely responsive to my emails, answered my many questions, worked within our budget and was able to make our vision for the day come to life! Her team went above and beyond in so many ways, from our bridal attendant Nate who anticipated our every need (and more!) on the day to Robin, our D.O.C who took on tasks above and beyond. From our first meeting, we knew we had to hire David Alan for our wedding at the Branford House. We had done food tastings at a few other caterers and were unimpressed. David Alan blew us away at our tasting and we knew immediately we had found the one. Meghan was fantastic from start to finish. She answered the million questions I had and worked with me through my indecisiveness. We had Robin on the day of the wedding. Robin and the rest of the staff were amazing. Our bridal attendant was right there for anything we needed. The food is fantastic!! We received so many compliments, especially on the sea bass (my personal favorite - I’m still drooling over it) and the prime rib. We had a few chefs at our wedding, so to have them praise the food really tells you how amazing David Alan is. They know the venue well, and worked great with our coordinator and other vendors. DAHG was a dream come true! The service, the food, the atmosphere was impeccable. I am so thankful that we hired them for our wedding vendor. They were easy to work with, listened to all of our questions and ideas, we're flexible and truly brought our vision to fruition. We got so many compliments on how nice the tables looked, the attention to detail the entire night, and most importantly, how tasty the food was!
As the bride, our bridal attendant was beyond compare. My husband and I joked at how we were going to take him home. I felt so loved and comforted this entire process. I would highly recommend these caterers to anyone. Thank you so so so so much team!! -

David Alan was amazing! They completely exceeded my expectations on the day of our wedding! I had a few displays that I wanted set up a certain way (that I was very worried about) that they completely took care of, the food was amazing (all our guests were raving about it!), and everything went smoothly with their help! They were very accommodating- they allowed us to bring some local beer and other beverages we wanted served and served them for us! Carley, who took are of us leading up to and on the day of, was very responsive and made us feel at ease! Rebecca, my bridal attendant on the day of, was so helpful in making sure that we got food and drinks on our busy day. She was also the one who worked on set-up for my displays that came out exactly how I wanted (thank you!). David Alan employs very attentive and helpful staff that work very hard to make your day go as planned! Thank you all! -

I am so glad I used David Alan for our wedding. The food and the wedding cake were delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Katie was our coordinator and we cannot believe how amazing she was on our day. She made sure we were able to enjoy some drinks and appetizers during our cocktail hour. From the tasting, to the communications in the months leading up to the event, they were so attentive, helpful and professional. They almost double as a wedding planner, making sure everything has been carefully thought out ahead of time, and providing us with a bridal attendant the day of to keep everything on schedule. And the food was incredible! We still have people commenting on how amazing the food at our wedding was (especially the carving station and mashed potatoes). They made the entire day go so smoothly and we could not have asked for a better caterer, especially at such a reasonable price. I would highly recommend them to anyone, without hesitation. -

I gave Meghan all control over decor as we did not live in the state we were getting married in. I was never once nervous about anything that day knowing Meghan and her team were there to handle anything. The bridal attendees were incredible, they were always there with drinks and apps for myself and the groom, along with our family. They even helped with my grandmother who was having a hard time walking in the field. The food was amazing especially the lobster rolls and the potato bar. -

Emma Sent on 08/04/2018David Alan catering both catered and coordinated our wedding. I seriously don't know what we would've done without them! We had a very tight budget and the staff at David Alan were very helpful in making sure everything was within budget. We also were planning everything for our Connecticut wedding, while living in Philadelphia! The staff was very accommodating to make our schedules work with the tasting, site visits, and over-the-phone meetings. Our coordinator, Margot, was on top of everything and was very understanding when I went a little bride crazy the month before.
On the day-of, Margot had every detail squared away for us, and did not hesitate to help us when some details went out the window! I am sure our crazy families and friends stressed her out, but she never showed it. She just made sure everything went as smoothly as possible.
Not to mention the food! The harvest table and s'mores station were even more delicious than we thought they would be.... I think the s'mores station kind of stole the show at the end of the night. The salad and dinner courses were beyond delicious, and served with very big portions. My family (which is mostly Cuban) could not get enough of the Sofrito roasted pork and mashed yucca, which says a lot about the quality and authenticity of the menu at David Alan Catering.
We were very happy with David Alan Catering and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone having a special event in Connecticut! -

Over the following two years, she was there to answer all the crazy questions I had, and responded with professionalism as well as a little humor to keep me calm and let me know I wasn’t becoming a crazy bride! When our wedding day finally came on 10/14, every single thing was perfect. Our guests loved the food and went back for seconds(and some of them went back for thirds!) we got so many compliments from the appetizers all the way to the desserts,and everything in between. The staff was very friendly and constantly checking in with us to make sure WE were all set which was a very nice thing to have. You always hear you don’t eat on your wedding day and regret it, they made sure this was not an issue! I highly recommend them for any event, you will not be disappointed! -

We were married at the Wadsworth and met with a number of their preferred caterers before we met with David Alan. We were not impressed with any of the caterers until we met with David Alan. From our first talk, Meghan was exceptional. She helped us create an Italian-inspired menu, which was delicious, and was incredibly flexible with their pricing. We were so used to wedding food tasting like ... well, not great wedding food. Then we had our tasting with David Alan and we're completely blown away. Every single thing that they made at our tasting was incredibly delicious and we began dreaming about the day we could have their amazing food again! Later in the process, we ended up meeting with Blair, and fell in love with her cake and booked them for our cake as well! Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat any cake on our wedding night (too busy dancing) but I am looking forward to eating our top tier on our first anniversary.
The day of the wedding, I woke up calm knowing that David Alan would make our day perfect. The day of coordinator was incredible and made our vision a reality. The tables and decor were perfection and I fell in love with everything that they put together.
I had numerous guests tell me that their waitress and waiter was very quick to provide them whatever they needed. I heard so many compliments regarding the meal - especially the pasta station during cocktail hour, and the eggplant dish at dinner! The entire night was a success.
