  Hire them asap!

  David Alan is more than just a catering company. They are EVERYTHING you need to pull off the wedding of your dreams, especially if you're like me and didn't want to hire a wedding planner. Rachael Anthony was my coordinator and my wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion literally would not have been the amazing night it was without her. If you use David Alan ASK FOR RACHAEL! I wanted an entirely outdoor wedding, and despite the threat of rain, she made it happen (logistically outdoor weddings can be extremely difficult).
  Now of course, I'd recommend them solely based on the food. Everyone, and I mean everyone, told us it was the best wedding steak they'd ever had. Perhaps, even the best steak in general. But they are so much more than the incredible food. Rachael helped me bring my vision to life. I had so many little details I wanted executed and a big vision for all of the decor. Rachael spent hours with me planning, organizing and giving insight from her years of experience in the biz. In all the photos you'll see in this post, Rachael coordinated it all for me to genuinely make my dreams come true. She pulled me aside before guests arrived so I could soak it up before the craziness of the day began. I cried seeing all the hard work and details coming together so perfectly. It was all because of her. From my dance floor rentals, tent rental, the champagne glasses and raspberries I bought on my own to cut down on costs (which she let me do) to the bar set up. Everything was just perfect.
  Not to mention, she was extremely open and honest in helping me work within my budget and then keeping me on budget! LOL David Alan allows clients to provide their own alcohol and it saved us so much money! Plus, they packed all the rest up for us at the end of the night so we got to keep the leftovers. I have so much love for DAC and genuinely can't recommend them enough. ESPECIALLY if you are doing an outdoor wedding, and/or getting married at the Wadsworth, you should hire them without a doubt.

  The caterer of our dreams!

  Words can not begin to describe how blown away we are by David Alan Catering. My husband and I are huge foodies and when I came to planning our wedding, good food was the top of our priority list. We did tastings with several caterers but when we did our tasting with David Alan we immediately knew they would hit it out of the park. We had people coming up to us at our wedding telling us how amazing the food was. And as if the food isn’t enough reason to book, the team is so kind and eager to help and flexible. They stopped at nothing to make sure our food vision came to life. David Alan is one of the best decisions we could have made when planning our wedding. Special shoutout to Rachel who went above and beyond to coordinate, answer our many questions and help us to plan.

  Delicious!!!

  We chose David Alan Hospitality Group as our wedding caterer at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT. David Alan was among their preferred vendor list and after researching all of the options, it was the best choice. Their pricing was extremely fair, their options were endless, and their staffing was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We worked with Rachael throughout the planning process, who was extremely attentive and always available to help us/answer our questions. On the day of, our main coordinator was Jenaya who was equally as amazing! On top of all this, the food was AMAZING. We loved our food at the tasting and it was just as good, if not better, the day of. Many guests, even 1 month later, are still complimenting us on how amazing the food was. Sometimes at weddings the food can be sub-par, but I can truthfully say that David Alan's food is incredibly delicious.

  Organized, responsive, affordable

  David Alan was the caterer of our dreams. They were so much more than the absolutely fantastic food. From the tasting to table settings, ceremony set-up to reception coordination, they made our wedding the most beautiful day. Jenaya took care of every detail in planning down to the smallest details of our menu and up to coordinating the ceremony and reception for our large indoor winter wedding in a multi-roomed mansion. Rachel was our day-of coordinator, and we couldn’t have done it without her! We did our own décor, and she set it up for us, accomplishing a magical feel that we couldn’t have imagined ahead of time. We had some vendors come late, and Rachel took the worry right out of our hands, commanding us to enjoy the day and getting all our vendors together in the background, without a hitch! Every single thing we discussed ahead of time – setting up family photos, arranging our guest table flowers, timing for lighting our candles, and moving chairs without getting in the way of our guests in an already tight indoor space – was done and then some. And at the end of the night, Rachel had us all packed up by the time we had finished saying goodbye to our last guest – we made it to the after party without delay! Rachel is enthusiastic and detailed-oriented, and we were so grateful she was there with us for our day. And finally, Allie was our bridal attendant. She was so kind to us. She took care to reassure me when my emotions threatened to overwhelm me right before walking into the ceremony, handed us our signature drink the minute the wedding ended, and made sure we were fueled by snacks for the entire evening while we visited with our family and friends and danced the night away. David Alan could’ve told us over and over that things couldn’t be done – we couldn’t fit all our guests into the configuration we wanted for our dinner, or that they couldn’t help with our décor (these were all things we heard from other caterers when we interviewed them) and they never did. They helped us to plan the perfect wedding day, making sure the vision we had was achievable, and taking care of even the smallest details for a perfect day. We are so grateful, and we would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding of their own!

  A wonderful experience!

  David Alan Catering were our caterers for our wedding in August 2023 and we had a wonderful experience with them from start to finish. We went for a tasting and their food was incredibly delicious, and the person we met with was super helpful in talking with us about our options. Their menu options were very flexible and the choices for linens and flatware/dinnerware were perfect for our setting and color scheme. On the day of, the person in charge of our event was so kind and helpful (I believe it was Rachael Chaffin) and clearly had a handle on everything and was very experienced. They were very familiar with the venue (Branford House) which also helped immensely. They were able to set up many of our smaller decorative elements and did it perfectly and with very little need for input from me or my husband. Our officiant was quite rude and had been causing us some stress, and Rachael and the other catering staff were incredibly helpful and supportive in the midst of that as well. Many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food! And the staff were also amazingly helpful and efficient in packing things up at the end of the night. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding in a similar area!

  Perfect Catering Company for a Perfect Day

  We got married in August 2023. David Alan Hospitality group was incredibly accommodating and had amazing service from the tasting to the wedding. I cannot recommend them enough! thank you The food was absolutely delicious, the place settings were perfect, and the staff made my husband and I feel comfortable and made sure we had fun (and ate!) on our wedding day.

  Can't Put Into Words How FABULOUS DAHG was for us

  I can't even put into words how absolutely wonderful it was to work with David Alan Hospitality Group for our wedding. From the initial call with David to our wedding day with the DAHG team it was an incredible experience. The team went above and beyond to make sure that we felt comfortable, excited, and fully taken care of during planning through to the end of our day. The food was incredible and we got constant compliments on it being "the best wedding food" our guests had ever had. I cannot thank the entire team enough and cannot recommend them more for someone else's wedding day!

  Went absolutely above and beyond for our wedding!

  We own David Alan a massive thank you for our wedding day! Everyone involved worked like a well oiled machine! Rachel worked her butt off making sure things went smoothly and worked proactively to fix issues before they became issues. We had the pleasure of having Lauren be our day of helper getting us water and making sure we ate during the whole event which was amazing. The group also helped us coordinate and be an extra set of eyes for our ceremony, helping us time people walking down the aisle. Above and beyond what we wanted from them. The food was amazing everyone was thrilled to eat anything that was put in front of them coming back for more! we had a thanksgiving theme dinner and we couldn't have asked for better. The turkey was carved in front of us keeping it from being dry and everything was fabulous. We recommend David Alan not only for the food but also the amazing staff who genuinely care how our event went.

  They are incredible

  We cannot say enough good things about Meghan and the entire team at David Alan. From start to finish they were incredible at keeping in touch, answering questions, and just keeping us updated at all turns. It's truly amazing how they can customize their packages for exactly what you need, and at the fairest prices around! We feel so so lucky that we were able to book them for our wedding! Everyone is still raving about the food! Not only did the team provide great catering service, but they were also an immense support emotionally for us on the day. They were a calm voice and a happy smile that really really made a difference during such an overwhelming day! :) We appreciate you guys more than you know!

  Amazing food and service!

  We were very lucky to have David Alan cater our wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, CT. The food was superb and the service was fantastic. Everyone we worked with was highly professional and truly made planning out the day fun and easy.   Intimate Wedding

  Renee and her team were amazing and helped us create the perfect menu for our wedding. We set a budget at the very start and Renee ensured we did not go one penny over without having to sacrifice what was most important to us. She went above and beyond on the day to ensure everything ran smoothly and we could not be more grateful. Food was beautifully presented as well as delicious and we would definitely recommend David Alan Hospitality Group for any catering event.

  Perfection

  Rachael was the most incredible person to work with. She was hilarious and her attention to detail was bar none. The way the team handled Covid cancellations and reschedules was so generous and professional. Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect.   Killed the game!

  We cannot recommend David Alan Catering enough. The entire team was professional from start to finish, the food was IMPECCABLE, and most importantly, our guests were absolutely impressed with every aspect of our wedding.
  
  When we were initially planning our wedding, it was imperative that whoever we were going to hire had to be the best of the best. We didn’t want the typical wedding menu that all wedding guests dread (haha), we wanted to WOW our guests with flavor, beautiful presentation, and unique food/drink options.
  
  At our dinner tasting, their willingness to accommodate our requests was exactly what we were looking for in a caterer. They gave us an array of food selections to choose from and gave us the complete flexibility to tailor the menu exactly how we wanted it. Everything they presented was flavorful, colorful and delicious - it actually made it difficult to choose our main meals and appetizers! We absolutely appreciated their “whatever you want to do, we’ll make it happen” approach and their ability to put the day of events into perspective so were were comfortable with our wedding timeline. From the hors d’oeuvres, to the main meal selections, to even the flavored water choices, David Alan has perfected their craft.
  
  We had the pleasure of working directly with Rachael and Meghan, and were able to secure Patty as our Day of Coordinator. Through frequent communication, we were able to create a customized menu to our liking, organize our seating charts, and ultimately were able to enjoy our day due to their attentiveness and experience.
  
  The David Alan Team kept everything running smoothly, even at the reception. Our wedding guests can appreciate a good party and throughout the night, let’s just say the bartenders were definitely able to keep up with the high demand for drinks.
  
  Through their services, the DAC team provided us with linen and utensil rentals, a floor plan, and Day of Coordination, which honestly tied the whole day together and made it a complete success. They went as far as to work directly with our other vendors, set up certain aspects of the wedding for us, got to know the names of the people in our bridal party and basically took care of all the major (and minor) details that wedding couples have anxiety about. Any hiccups that occurred during the day went completely unnoticed due to the professionalism and quick thinking on DAC’s part.

  We cannot recommend David Alan Catering enough. The entire team was professional from start to finish, the food was IMPECCABLE, and most importantly, our guests were absolutely impressed with every aspect of our wedding.
  
  When we were initially planning our wedding, it was imperative that whoever we were going to hire had to be the best of the best. We didn’t want the typical wedding menu that all wedding guests dread (haha), we wanted to WOW our guests with flavor, beautiful presentation, and unique food/drink options.
  
  At our dinner tasting, their willingness to accommodate our requests was exactly what we were looking for in a caterer. They gave us an array of food selections to choose from and gave us the complete flexibility to tailor the menu exactly how we wanted it. Everything they presented was flavorful, colorful and delicious - it actually made it difficult to choose our main meals and appetizers! We absolutely appreciated their “whatever you want to do, we’ll make it happen” approach and their ability to put the day of events into perspective so were were comfortable with our wedding timeline. From the hors d’oeuvres, to the main meal selections, to even the flavored water choices, David Alan has perfected their craft.
  
  We had the pleasure of working directly with Rachael and Meghan, and were able to secure Patty as our Day of Coordinator. Through frequent communication, we were able to create a customized menu to our liking, organize our seating charts, and ultimately were able to enjoy our day due to their attentiveness and experience.
  
  The David Alan Team kept everything running smoothly, even at the reception. Our wedding guests can appreciate a good party and throughout the night, let’s just say the bartenders were definitely able to keep up with the high demand for drinks.

I can confidently say, David Alan was a 10/10 experience – absolutely exceptional in every way. Wedding food usually is average at best, but that wasn’t the case with David Alan. A week after our wedding and we still get the occasional text from friends “The food was AWESOME! Please tell me you saved some apps that I can get from you!” And I’m able to personally vouch for that, despite the cliché that the married couple doesn’t eat, because Rachael made sure we had apps set aside for us to eat in private and our entrees waiting for us as well.

  We got married at the Wadsworth Mansion which recommended David Alan to us. We had a lovely tasting a few weeks before the wedding and were able to ask questions about the menu and make some changes such as toning down the spice in one of the dishes. They were easy to work with and did an amazing job handling the restrictions of covid. The food was served in a very safe manner and our guests felt comfortable which was very important to us.

  We are so grateful for our experience with David Alan Hospitality Group for our wedding day held at Smith Farm Gardens! Navigating wedding planning during COVID was not easy, but Meghan was amazing to work with as she met each challenge with ease. She responded to my many emails and phone calls promptly, and she was always willing to give advice and recommendations whenever I needed it. We knew after our very first consultation with her that she had an abundance of knowledge and experience in the industry which gave us complete confidence in her ability to pull everything together. Meghan was very accommodating in working with us for our menu selection and budget at our tastings. Ultimately, the food was incredibly delicious and the presentation was beautiful, and we received so many compliments from our guests. Adding their wedding day coordination relieved so much stress as Rachael and Meghan headed up the execution of everything and everyone involved. I was thrilled that our ceremony and reception was exactly as I envisioned it to be!   I cannot speak highly enough of Rachael from DA. Rachael and her team went above and beyond the entire process and day of. She helped us customize our menu to reflect ours tastes and my husbands Haitian culture. She understood our vision for the big day and was there every minute to make sure it was everything we had hoped for. The food and presentation was incredible. 5 star rating for me.   David Alan was a dream to work with from start to finish. They were professional, helped with every question I had over the course of 2.5 years, and of course the food was PHENOMENAL.   Simply the best!

  Flawless. At first, we choose David Alan Hospitality Group (DAHG) for our wedding based on our initial feelings—food was amazing, staff was friendly & helpful, reviews were great. As time went on, it began to feel like it was a privilege and an honor to be able to work with DAHG. There actually aren’t enough positive adjectives to describe DAHG.
  We have two viewpoints: One of your common wedding planning and one of a global pandemic.
  When we thought we were having planning our original 2020 wedding, the staff DAHG was patient, understanding, kind, helpful, supportive, available. I was in contact with Meghan, who was handling our 2020 wedding and we had the privilege of meeting Rachael during our tasting. The food quality at the tasting was AMAZING—we took whatever was left home, nothing disappointed. Anything we wanted, any kitchen notes we wanted to make, was taken into consideration, and held at high regard.
  
  We booked them in 2019 for our 2020 wedding and then pivoted to 2021 due to the pandemic. When we made this decision, the staff of DAHG was compassionate and understanding and always helpful. During this transition to 2021, Rachael took over as our “go to” person. Rachael was there to ease our minds and worries, help up pivot to a safe wedding of our dreams, listen to me when I asked a million questions, respond to all those questions with patience and knowledge. She was there, along for the ride, and, on what felt like a very long journey, felt more like a friend. I don’t imagine that it is ease to work in a hospitality field—dealing with so many personalities and people—but Rachael has an understanding and belief that each couple is just as important as the next. She was.. she is amazing.
  
  Although knowing the catering company is made of little miracle workers, it is also very important to note FOOD. We are a family who loves food. And we must say THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. 5 people in 2 hours texted me to tell me that the filet was like butter! The quality of the food and presentation was at utmost importance to DAHG and you could tell in every dish.
  
  I can sit here and type a 5 page review on how much we loved DAHG and how satisfied we were with them. But, in short, if you need a caterer, don’t bother looking anywhere else—just go to DAHG.

There staff was fantastic at making sure my husband and I as well as our families were taken care of as we were doing our nightly duties.   Hire them immediately!

  We had the MOST AMAZING experience with David Alan. Their food is delicious, their staff is so helpful and responsive, and they went above and beyond during the planning process and on the day of the wedding.   Great from start to finish

  What can I say but working with David Alan Hospitality Group was an extremely pleasant experience!! Carley and her staff were so attentive and made the whole process run smoothly from day one until the end of the wedding! We used them for my daughter’s wedding and couldn’t have been happier with every single detail.   Our wedding day would not have been possible without Carly and Nate

  David Alan was our second pick for a caterer (our friend is a chef at a restaurant that also provides catering) and we did love their tasting. But when we found out that they could also help us with day-of coordination even if they were not our caterer, we knew we needed their expertise! We worked with Carly in advance of the wedding for renting ceremony chairs, extra tables and tablecloths, and all of our glasses and plates (the restaurant would have had to rent them as well and would have passed an additional charge on to us). We also had Nate for our rehearsal , and both of them were there to make the day of absolutely perfect! It was so nice to just enjoy the moment and know that if something needed to happen we could count on them. We could not have done it without them; all of the details were handled and it all went so smoothly. We would absolutely use David Alan for catering as well as planning other events in the future.

David Alan blew us away at our tasting and we knew immediately we had found the one. Meghan was fantastic from start to finish. She answered the million questions I had and worked with me through my indecisiveness. We had Robin on the day of the wedding. Robin and the rest of the staff were amazing. Our bridal attendant was right there for anything we needed. The food is fantastic!!
