We had such a wonderful portrait shoot with Cynthia. She had the most fun prompts to get us (non-models) comfortable with getting our pictures taken. We had teaser images back to us that day, and the whole album a few days later! Beyond her impressive speed and talent, she's also just a fun person to spend time with. Definitely recommend :) -

We LOVED having Cynthia for our wedding photographer!!!!! I cannot recommend her enough, she is truly amazing. She is always responsive, down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and fun to work with.
Her work is absolutely stunning, and she captures candid moments as well as beautiful portraits. Our photos are vibrant and colorful and we are endlessly happy with them! Also, we had our dogs with us (because of course!), and she was amazing with them. She managed to capture their personalities and their "jobs" in our ceremony so perfectly, which made the photos even more special to us.
She makes the experience feel natural and comfortable, taking care of the tiny details for you so you can enjoy your day. She is so experienced with wedding photography, so having her confidence around helped to ground me and my "pre-wedding" jitters. I was very thankful I had her around!
Choose Cynthia! She is wildly talented with the camera and will make your experience easy, breezy, and wonderful and you will have ~*amazing*~ photos to cherish forever! -

The BEST photographer
Cynthia is everything you could ever need or want! We had the best time with her celebrating and she does such an amazing job capturing every moment. We are 2 people who don’t feel super comfortable in front of a camera and she really made us feel comfortable and have so much fun! The pictures are breathtaking and we could not be more thankful for having the BEST photographer and human be apart of our special days! -

Cynthia is an incredible photographer and as a planner, one of our favorites to recommend! Not only does she respond quickly, come with tons of energy on wedding day, but she's so chill. With all the emotions on a wedding day, it's extremely important to have vendors who help keep you calm so you can fully enjoy your day and Cynthia is that vendor!
Added bonus: she gets photos edited quickly and they blow us away every time! :) -

She has an amazing talent and is so fun to be around. She had previews for us within 10 minutes of our reception and had our full album ready a week later!!! We had to move our wedding to from Banner Elk to Chapel Hill due to Helene and Cynthia made it all happen at a new venue without missing a beat! She kept everything upbeat, fun, and special. Everyone felt at ease (even with our long list of family shots) and the pictures were unbelievably gorgeous!! And the turn around on our photos was so quick - seriously 10+/10 would definitely recommend! -

I spent so much time researching and looking through photographers to find the PERFECT one and without a doubt, Cynthia is it. She is professional, kind, FUN, bright, and so easy to communicate and work with. It was extremely important to me to find someone accepting and love-inclusive. Her photography evokes a feeling of joy, happiness, and brightness -- which is exactly what I wanted. Cynthia did our engagement shoot, all of our wedding photography, and I will go to her for any and every photo shoot I want in the future. She is also extremely thoughtful of her clients, often posting special milestones and anniversaries of working with her clients and their special days on her instagram pages. The DAY OF our wedding she already had highlight photos from our wedding edited ready to show us and that we could share. We received our photos back from our wedding in under two weeks (we had TONS of photos) and I was blown away by the incredible editing and finished products. I could not recommend Cynthia enough. I am overwhelmingly grateful to have found her before our big events. On our wedding day she was so much fun for both us and our guests. She captured things from many different perspectives, flattering photos of our decorations, guests, backgound, food, vendors -- everything. I felt like my spirit shined through in the photos and captured the happiness and essence of our love and the entire wedding. I am also grateful to still keep in contact with her and to know that I have found such a gifted, hardworking, and wonderful photographer for all my future needs. Cynthia has been (yes, post-wedding, continues to be) incredible. From the minute we met her at a vendor showcase, to our engagement photos, to our 3 day long Indian-American hybrid wedding, she took the most gorgeous photos. More importantly, she created space for us to feel connected to each other in the hectic days.
Cynthia took one look at us, stressed out, and said "can I get some photos of just you, outside?" She helped us recenter, focus on each other, and remember our love outside of the hustle and bustle of the wedding. She took the most INCREDIBLE details shots, and knows her way around an Indian wedding.
She made us laugh, she made us comfortable, she most importantly, made us feel like the only two people in the world. We are beyond grateful to have her take photos for us across multiple events and venues. She is professional, artistic, timely, and easy-going. We loved working with her (it truly feels like a collaboration) and she made us feel comfortable.
Hire her. You will love every minute behind the camera. And isn't that worth it? -

I'm a wedding coordinator and I have worked with so many vendors but Cynthia was high at the top of that list. She does an immense amount of travel for her clients which is a level of convenience and service that not a lot of people can claim to provide. But, when she got in the day before she attended the rehearsal so that she could scout the venue for shot locations and lighting. She was extremely professional, kind, easy to work with, and running the day felt seamless with her. Not to mention, the photos came out beautifully. On top of her professionalism and sheer talent, people love her because she is so overwhelmingly respectful and accepting. As a queer vendor myself, the level of excitement I know her clients see when they see that she caters to everyone must be outstanding. Pick her to shoot your big day, no matter who you are. -

If we could summarize this in one sentence it would be "Book her now, this woman is a pure goddess behind the lens, and we promise you won't be disappointed!" Anyone can capture a photograph, but not everyone can capture the pure, raw emotion that is happening at that moment and make everyone feel that emotion days, weeks, and months later. Not everyone can recreate the story through photographs and be able to feel the same energy as if they were living the story again. As a same-sex couple, it can be very intimidating reaching out to vendors and just hoping they support your lifestyle and your marriage. Cynthia, in particular, was definitely one we didn't have to worry about! While I was looking for a photographer to capture my destination surprise proposal to my now-wife, I came across Cynthia's Instagram and the first thing I saw was the rainbow flag and "love wins!" Sold! She helped secretly plan that surprise proposal and captured it beautifully and a few months later she captured my wife's surprise proposal to me along with pictures of us and our son. After the first proposal, she was already booked for the wedding that was a year away. We cannot say enough great things about this amazing woman! She gave us honest recommendations as far as other vendors, she answered all of our silly questions as far as color schemes, etc. She's very easy to get along with, she's super responsive, and she's definitely willing to take your crazy ideas and turn them into the most beautiful reality! Like hey, we have these rainbow smoke bombs labeled "explosives" and we want to set them off for pictures! She expressed no hesitation, honestly stated she hadn't worked with them a TON, and was all in, creating the most beautiful pictures we have ever seen! Not only is she a passionate and talented photographer, but she's also a genuine and kind soul. Anyone can take a picture, but it takes a special person like Cynthia to photograph such an important and emotional day. If she's not available on your wedding day, change your date because SHE is worth it! -

Cynthia was an amazing photographer to work with for our wedding! One of the reasons we initially chose her was because her packages include full-day coverage. I loved not having to set hours and then be stressed that something may get missed. Cynthia answered all of our questions that came up quickly. My mom surprised by contacting Cynthia to set up a second shooter which she was able to arrange with short notice. On the day of our wedding, people weren't always ready on time, it rained for a couple of hours, and our large family was difficult to corral. However, Cynthia was a patient and calming force through it all. The pictures were AMAZING and my biggest problem is that I don't know how to choose which ones to print because they're all so good! Not only are they amazing but we received the full wedding album within a week! -

I'm so glad that we had the opportunity to meet Cynthia at the Beech Mountain Wedding Gala back in 2019. We entered and won a raffle for engagement photos with her and I never thought getting our pictures taken could be so much fun! Seriously, it sounds cheesy, but I'm not kidding.
And then shortly after the engagement photo shoot, Covid happened and we had to push our wedding back first a few months and then a full year. And Cynthia is amazing for working with us and being so understanding.
Finally, we had our wedding yesterday and it was a blast. I haven't seen the entire gallery quite yet, but I know we'll be ordering quite a few prints just from the teasers she got ready for us last night. We will definitely be hiring Cynthia again in the future for portaits and I will forever recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer. Thank you for making our night that much more special! -

Cynthia is very professional, she was so helpful throughout the process of planning and at the wedding. She sent me a booklet with information after I hired her answered all of the questions I had by email and text. My husband hates getting photos of him taken and she was still able to capture amazing photos. She sent me preview photos the day after the wedding and sent me the gallery within 4 days of the wedding! She also set up a photo booth for free, it was so much fun to look at the pictures after the wedding! -

Cynthia was incredible!!! She was able to step in for a last minute shoot, her response time to my email was super quick, she hiked with us to get some amazing shots, she was a lot of fun to work with, and we got the photos within two days!!! She’s amazing at what she does and my fiancé and I cannot say enough good things about our experience with her! -

Amazing photographer
We loved working with Cynthia. She was so prompt to respond to all of our questions and requests from day one. She capture the essence of our family micro-wedding so beautifully and her photos are truly amazing. It was an overcast day, but her pictures are so bright and beautiful that everyone who sees them thinks it was sunny and bright outside! We couldn't have been happier. We highly recommend her to anyone. -

How do I begin to describe Cynthia and the work she does? I feel this review would be longer than a college essay if I listed all the reasons why she is amazing. She knows how to read your face and make you laugh and get those real reactions. She makes sure your day is captured with the best moments. She was always there to get each beautiful moment and laughter, she went above and beyond for us. I will never hire another photographer besides Cynthia. There's no reason to look elsewhere, her work is a masterpiece. Every picture we have seen feels like the moment was captured perfectly and takes us back to our perfect night. We love Cynthia and will recommend her to everyone we can. -

Absolutely amazing - highly recommend!
Cynthia was fantastic to work with! We hired her for three separate events: an engagement shoot, a vow exchange, and for our wedding day. The photos from each event were more than we could have hoped for (with an incredibly quick turnaround). She even helped us plan the location for our vow exchange, and recommended a videographer that we ended up using for that and for our wedding. She goes above and beyond for her clients and is a wonderful person to interact with. We could not recommend her more! -

About 8-10 years ago Cynthia photographed two of my friends weddings. I remember looking through their pictures thinking when my day comes, I have to have this photographer. Well years later I finally met the man and plans were being made. I still remembered how much I loved Cynthia’s photgraphs so I reached out and as luck would have it, she was available! Cynthia is an amazing photographer and person. She goes above and beyond with all the little details to make the experience perfect! Somehow she was even able to get pretty darn good pictures of this girl that has the worst case of RBF ever! -

Beyond Amazing!!!
I met Cynthia at a wedding expo and loved her work right away. We just hit it off right away as I told her about my fiancé and our story and our Carolina Panther themed wedding. She went above and beyond anything we every could have expected to make our day perfect and to live on forever in the portraits. She has great vision and she did a great job at staying out sight when she needed to be. She is so easy to work with and I would highly recommend her!!! I plan to use her again for other occasions for sure!!! She is just amazing all around personally and professionally... -

Planning a wedding is equal parts stress and joy. One can easily get overwhelmed as the big day creeps up on you if you don’t have the right people by your side. Cynthia is one of those right people. From our first contact with her she was warm, welcoming, and ready to answer any questions no matter how off the wall they seemed. Throughout the entire process she was equal parts a consummate professional and reassuring friend. It was easy to relax in her presence. Nerves gave way to joy, and she was there, capturing the perfect moments of the entire event. She surrounds herself with people cut from the same cloth. I had the pleasure of having her 2nd photographer for our wedding, Kalypso, shadow me as I got ready. I felt immediately at ease, even with my own night before celebration after effects rolling through my body. My wife and I cannot recommend Cynthia’s services enough. Not only will you get amazing photos, but you’ll have someone there who keeps you smiling no matter the bumps of the day. -

I cannot say enough GREAT things about Cynthia!! From the first request for information to having our wedding pictures delivered literally days after our wedding, Cynthia was an absolute dream to work with! She is friendly and sweet, very quick to respond to any and all questions, and super flexible with last minute requests or changes to plans. She has an uncanny ability to be super put-together and organized but at the same time always has an incredibly calming demeanor about her, which is everything you could ever want and more for the person who will be with you every step of the way on your wedding day! Her photos are absolutely beautiful - she understands light and uses it to her advantage in every single shot. We chose to do engagement photos in addition to our wedding photos and I am so glad we did because they all turned out stunning. Everyone who had their picture taken at our wedding could not say enough great things about Cynthia after meeting her and again once the pictures were returned. My husband and I will absolutely be looking to book her for an anniversary session in a couple of months, assuming she has any availability! -

We engaged Cynthia earlier this year to shoot at our proposal and she was extremely excited to be part of the process; she held regular calls with me to ensure that the moment would be candid and special. And that’s exactly what it was - Special!
She captured every moment, and provided photos that will provide us with a lifetime of special memories.
Once we gave Cynthia the date of our wedding, she locked it in and said she wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Right away, Hollie (my bride) connected to Cynthia (based on her charm and uniqueness) and couldn’t wait for her to capture us exchanging our vows.
The day finally came on October 14, 2017, and Cynthia and AJ showed up and showed out!
They were professional in every way - from their attire, to their interaction with our guests, to their accommodations with our chaotic families, they delivered so much more than we could have asked!
As the hours went on, we lost track of where they were, but they never lost track of us. They captured every special moment!
They even pulled us aside for a moment to give us a glimpse of what was to come - we were in awe of their ability to bring perspective unseen by the average naked eye.
And when we received our full album (less than a week after!!!), WOW!!!
Like Forrest Gump says... “that’s all I got to say about that...”
They are truly special at what they do, and their goal (from what I’ve gathered) is to make you feel special! -
