Shoutout to Carlos for creating a memorable evening and keeping the dance floor packed all night! Cutting Edge Entertainment (CEE) is a vendor associated with the Scenic Springs wedding venue, and they completely exceeded expectations in service throughout the entire process. I appreciate how accommodating their coordinator; Ron, was with helping us secure a bilingual DJ to make sure announcements and music selection was inclusive for all of our friends and family in attendance - this was an important request that we vocalized in our first meeting to make sure our preference was captured. You can expect in the first meeting to review the functionality of their music dashboard, VIBO; this is where you'll input song preferences and build out the musical timeline for your special day. As soon as you're given access to the dashboard you can start loading your favorite songs and making notes if applicable. If you're planning on getting dance lessons or doing choreography for your first dance or any other special dances throughout the night, make sure the song or associated timestamps that you're using in practice is captured in the notes and that you review the timing during the consultation call. That'll be important because you won't have the ability to practice the music timing with the DJ (including the rehearsal) until the actual moment; so be as detailed as possible to avoid any confusion. Overall, we were very pleased with the CEE team and their professionalism was top tier. They worked with me and my last minute changes so well, and so gracefully. Our DJ was Jerry, and man he killed it in the best way possible. He really hit the nail on the head with the music, and his energy was so amazing. Ron and Jeremy were a pleasure to work with! Jeremy was our DJ on the day-of and he did an amazing job! He was very interactive with our guests and even made me laugh! Jeremy made sure to call us to go over the day-of details and he put us at ease knowing that he really cared to make sure everything went how we envisioned. They were also great at communicating with us! Ron even checked in with us on the day of the wedding to make sure everything was going well. We also booked them with the gig bar and uplighting which was so much fun! Also, they played all of the songs we requested and Jeremy made sure to space them out too. Overall, I'm extremely impressed with Cutting Edge Entertainment and my husband and I highly recommend them!Cutting Edge Entertainment's reply:

Our photographer recommended Cutting Edge Entertainment for our wedding and we are SO glad we listened. We were lost at trying to decide on music and Ron was very professional and helpful in guiding us to choose music that we enjoy. We had a slight miscommunication and once it was brought up Ron responded and helped us IMMEDIATELY, he was so great to work with. Wes was our DJ and he was AMAZING. He was so easy to talk to, helped walk us through everything, and made us feel at ease. He had a great personality for interacting with our guests and adjusted the music as needed to keep our guests entertained. Overall we had a great experience with Cutting Edge Entertainment from start to finish and would gladly recommend them to anyone. -

Everyone at Cutting Edge Entertainment contributed to the success that my wedding was! In the beginning, I had very little idea what I wanted or what was needed. Ron and Jeremy helped me connect the dots to create the perfect ambiance. They assisted me with song selection and guided me through their list of services to allow me to make the decision of what I needed in order to complete my day.
The day of my wedding, I was relieved to not have to stress about any of the details because I knew they had it taken care of. Everyone at the wedding raved about the DJ's music choice and cute comments throughout the night. Our Photo Booth operator was energetic and engaging.
I recommend Cutting Edge to everyone I hear is planning an event! If you are putting together a Wedding, Baby shower, or even a Funeral-- they WILL take care of you. -

Ron and his team were super great to work with! I’m Colombian and my husband is American so we wanted music from both cultures to be played and we felt that would be a tough balance to strike. Scott, our DJ did an amazing job of mixing Spanish and English songs and kept everyone on the dance floor all night. My grandma even told me she has blisters from spending all night on the dance floor. Seriously music is so important to us and they crushed it! -

Lillian Sent on 08/31/2018We booked Cutting Edge Entertainment a month after our engagement. Over the next 13 months Wes contacted us, and our wedding planner regularly to make sure we were all on the same page. This company is very professional, and makes every effort to meet the customers needs.
We originally did not plan on having a photo booth, but a two weeks before our wedding CEE pitched the idea and was able to make it happen for us! I highly recommend going with a photo booth! Our guests absolutely loved it!
Our DJ, Patrick, was amazing! He contacted us the week of our wedding to verify all the pronunciation of names in our wedding party. He listened to every request we had at the wedding, and willingly made any spur of the moment announcements we had.
Invest in Cutting Edge Entertainment! They will not disappoint! -

He played all of our requested songs and even made an announcement for my husband's grandmother's birthday! (we wanted it to be a surprise) and it was SO last minute but he went with it and did amazing! -

We were so close to not having a DJ at all because our budget is very tight - Wes was able to help us get exactly what we needed at a price we could afford. His professionalism and excellent customer service really set Cutting Edge apart from the other DJs we were considering.
The day of our wedding DJ Larry came out early to set up, and played our songlist to a t. He added in other music where it was appropriate, and it all flowed well. At first the crowd was hesitant to dance, but they really got into the mood as the night went on, and by the end of the night the party was going so well, we decided to add a bit more time. DJ Larry was professional, laid back, and had just the right amount of interaction and announcements. I highly recommend this company! -

Overall communication was great with Cutting Edge; I spoke with them on the phone and via email and they were prompt and easy to get in touch with. Our wedding DJ did a wonderful job! Most of our guests spent the entire time on the dance floor!! Our night was unique & special thanks to them! I would highly recommend Cutting Edge to anyone looking for a great DJ for their special event! -

He communicated greatly the entire time and never once left me hanging with an email like most wedding vendors do! He even showed up to the wedding to make sure that everything was going good and offered his help many times. I was so blessed to have a great DJ! I was so proud of our DJ he did everything perfectly (Jorge) and didn't once go against the music form that we filled out. This is another vendor that was included in our venue's "all inclusive" package. I initially had every confidence in our DJ. As soon as we booked with the venue, Cutting Edge sent us an app that we could add all of our songs for each part of the wedding to (processional, recessional, bridal march, toasts, etc.). And you can also put in the app things like what you want your DJ to wear, songs you don't want them to play, if guests are allowed to make requests, etc.
A few weeks out from then ceremony date the app is locked for changes and they call you to go over everything and they let you know who your actual DJ is going to be. I had my phone call with Cutting Edge and was not concerned at all.
The day of our wedding someone who wasn't our DJ walked in wearing the most ridiculous outfit (not what we requested our DJ to wear). I was going to let it go because apparently the circumstances were out of his control (our DJ had a medical emergency) and he said this wasn't his first wedding and he is very good at what he does.
He cut the bridal march song short
He didn't play the song for our grand entrance
He didn't finish the song for our first dance
He didn't play the song I requested for the bouquet dedication to my mom.
I feel like he couldn't read the room if people weren't enjoying a particular type of music he didn't move on to something else.Cutting Edge Entertainment's reply:
Lindsay, I'm very sorry that we fell short of your expectations with our DJ service. Yes, your originally scheduled DJ had an episode where he suffered heat exhaustion, passed out and then injured himself while falling. He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, but clearly in no condition to work your event later that day. He is doing fine now, he is just recovering from some bumps and bruises from falling. Still, this is no excuse that our backup DJ should not have been on point and up to speed by the time he started. He isn't a "country-wearing" kind of guy, so he tried to put something together at the last minute, but please know that there was no malice intended. He just tried to find something to accommodate your request.
Regarding the songs, there is no explanation for him not starting those songs on time, or keeping them playing longer than he should have. We will be working with him on those issues to make sure they don't happen again.
Again, our apologies. I hope these issues didn't fully detract from the focus of the day, you and Ryan celebrating your nuptials and having a great time with your family and friends.

This review is to warn other soon-to-be brides of the service that I received from Cutting Edge:
Although I am sure that our DJ and his colleague tried their hardest to please the crowd, I feel like they were very unprepared for the reception and ceremony.
My entrance song was not played in time creating an awkward moment for me as I was about to walk down the aisle. And once it was finally played, they left it on too long and the officiant was waiting on the DJ to fade out the song so that he could begin (approx about 15 seconds) creating more awkwardness.
During the reception, our DJ was not very interactive with the crowd even though I told him to be very outgoing and even included that in the RFW form sent to you guys. He looked shy and quiet and didn't sound confident in what he was doing. Although I provided clear instructions on what I wanted to be played, he did not do this. His transitions from our games to the dancing and toasts were not smooth, he did not play background music while transitioning from games to dancing creating an awkward silence and our guests weren't sure what was going on. I told him during the wedding multiple times to stop the awkward silences but nothing was changed on his behalf. Throughout the entire reception, my husband and I wondered whether or not this was our DJ's first rodeo because he just did not look confident and was not doing as he was told.
A bride should not have to go up to the DJ multiple times during her wedding to tell him to do as he was instructed, which is what I had to do creating more stress on my wedding night.
I thought that since his more experienced colleague was there the entire night, he would be assisting our DJ more but this was not the case.
The cherry on top of everything was the fact that one of my guests was kind enough to open a $400 tab at the bar and asked the DJ to announce it to the wedding guests, which he did not! Meaning that most of my guests missed out on the opportunity for free drinks. This truly angers me as the sole purpose of a DJ is to play music and make announcements and our DJ failed to make a very important announcement to my guests.
I have reached out to them and although they apologized, they had an excuse for almost every complaint that I had. No refunds of any sort, no nothing.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend them to any of my friends or family. Save yourself the headache and go with someone else.Cutting Edge Entertainment's reply:
Karen, again, I'm truly very sorry that you did not have a good experience with our company. As I had explained in my letter, I was not providing excuses, but merely some reasoning on why some of the things happened the way that they did. There are some things that we could have done better on, but there were some circumstances beyond our control, which I have already pointed out. A refund was not provided because you never requested one. I thought you merely wanted to advise us of where we fell short. Again, I'm sorry that your experience with us wasn't what you expected. Ron
