Incredible BBQ Brunch
Currituck BBQ delighted our guests for our brunch the day after our wedding! Everyone raved about the whole hog spread and how it was perfect for the next day. Not only was the food delicious, but the presentation just blew everyone away. It was great to treat our out of town guests to such a fun brunch. We sprung for whole hog and were SUPER happy with our decision.

Amazing Wedding Caterer
We could not have been more pleased with Currituck BBQ and the service they provided for our wedding. Our guests have been raving about the food since - especially the hush puppies! Several of our guests approached us after the wedding to let us know that the employees of Currituck were so personable and kind. It was wonderful to have a full service caterer that took care of everything - plates, cups, drinks, napkins, clean up, set up, and all of the food. And such a reasonable price! We can not recommend Currituck enough. We now have several guests who will be making a stop on the way down to the OBX on their next vacation! Thank you for helping making our reception dinner perfect!

If guests went hungry, it was their fault!
The food was absolutely amazing!! They catered both our cocktail hour and reception dinner. We got so many compliments on the menu. When we finally got over to the cocktail hour display, it was almost completely cleaned out! Get the dip station!! They had tons of options to choose for dinner and everything we chose had people going back for seconds. The servers were very friendly and service was perfect, answering any questions our guests had. Prices are very reasonable and service was spectacular. We also hired their bartenders, who were great as well! We would recommend them to anyone getting married in coastal NC!

Mind blowing and tastebuds rocking!
What else can I say! The food was AMAZING, we “quality checked” twice before the wedding and everything was as fresh, and delicious each time and I swear it was even better at the reception. The crew was amazing, they even joined us in a few line dances and signed our guest book! We really appreciate your time and effort for our wedding and loved having you all be a part of our day as well!

Amazing food and service!
Currituck BBQ is fantastic in every way! Latishia, the catering manager, went above and beyond as she guided me through each step of the process and even offered insight about our venue since they had catered there many times but we had never visited! The food was amazing and we enjoyed having leftovers for the next few days after. The staff at the event were so professional but above that, were so kind and friendly. Multiple guests commented on how well put together everything was and how kind the 2 gentlemen from Currituck BBQ were throughout the night. They also made sure to say a personal goodbye as they were leaving which was so nice! I would absolutely recommend Currituck BBQ to anyone looking for a delicious meal and professional service!

Currituck BBQ provided us with delivery and set up of our rehearsal dinner. As a bride trying to plan everything from 600 miles away, Latishia made it so easy. They were so quick to reply to all of my emails and questions. The process was seamless. Not to mention the food was DELICIOUS! Our guests were raving about how good it was. Bbq wedding day bliss
If you’re looking for down-home, DELICIOUS, laid-back food for your OBX Wedding, Currituck BBQ is the only way to go!!! Planning and tasting was so easy with Deanna’s help!!! She was so responsive and informative! The team that came out to set-up and serve was so kind! And the food! I cannot tell you how delicious! The crab dip, bbq brisket, smoked chicken, alllllll the sides, and melt-in-your-mouth hush puppies!!! And you really get you money’s worth- AND SOME because there will be leftovers!!! If I was getting married in OBX again- I would choose Currituck a thousand times!

Daydreaming about brisket and hush puppies
We got married on 5/30/2021 in Nags Head and couldn’t be happier with our choice of catering. You won’t find a better, more affordable caterer in NC. Currituck BBQ was HANDS DOWN our easiest wedding vendor to choose. Their catering manager, Deanna, is an absolute dream to work with and answered my seemingly endless questions about catering for a pandemic wedding. The food options are delicious and amazing. We were so pleasantly surprised with how many choices we had. We were even able to easily choose a gluten-free side for our guests with Celiac! The staff who worked our wedding were the most gracious servers and our guests were so pleased with how kind they were. Thank you Currituck BBQ!

Currituck BBQ was excellent to work with through our planning process. Deanna answered all of my questions and was incredibly helpful and accommodating when we ended up changing venues and having a smaller wedding due to COVID. All of our guests raved about the food (especially the sweet potato ham biscuits!!!). At the end of the night, they packed up all the leftovers and cleaned up extremely well. We were so pleased with our decision to hire them, and know you will too!

We got married 9/28/19 at Jenentte's Pier in Outer Banks, NC and Currituck BBQ did not disappoint! My husband and I grew up in Currituck, NC where they are based out of and have always loved their food. When it came to picking a caterer for our wedding, we didn't think twice about who to pick! The food was tasty as always, hot and ready to eat on time, and the service was excellent! We also hired 2 bartenders for our open bar and their service was wonderful! Would recommend them to anyone!

We had ordered the chicken and chopped BBQ and it was simply delicious. Staff were present throughout the entire event, they were awesome and so respectful! We used Currituck BBQ in hopes to of providing delicious food to our guests, but still within our budget and it was a success! I worked with Leslie and she was amazing! She always answered all of my questions quickly and helped provide me with options for our menu (pork BBQ and baked chicken) . The food was a hit (all of our guests were happy and full). The servers were friendly and efficient. Our bartenders were amazing and made sure that my husband and I always had drinks in our hands.

Best Catering Company Ever!!
Where do I start! Currituck BBQ was amazing! The catering team was so welcoming, warm, and professional. The bartender was amazingly friendly and even made it out on the dance floor with my 8 year old niece for a few mins (it was sooooo cute)! The food was amazing!!! It was a rainy, damp, cool day in October and comfort food was definitely the way to go! My husband and I walked around to all the tables after we scarfed our food down and everyone was raving about the food! They leave all the leftover food, sauces, plates, and napkins with you. Before the bartender left she opened a few extra bottles of wine for me which was amazing and one less thing for me to worry about! Book a Currituck for any event, you will not be disappointed or go hungry!!! Thank you guys for making my wedding day that much better!!!

From the moment my husband and I sat down for the tasting, we knew Currituck BBQ was the one! Everyone absolutely loved the food from the apps to the dinner! The staff was so professional and nice! My groom and I have nothing but great things to say about Currituck BBQ! We had them cater our wedding last week, and the entire process has been a pleasure. Leslie answered any and all questions I had during the year or so of planning prior, and she, Paul, and their staff went above and beyond our expectations the day-of. We changed the menu and other logistics several times, and each time Leslie showed flexibility and professionalism while assisting us. Her responsiveness was so fast and appreciated by this bride, and Paul even personally called us after to make sure everything had turned out how we had imagined. The guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food was and how friendly the caterers were -- and are still talking about it a week later as being one of the best wedding meals they've ever had. Despite some minor hiccups along the way, Leslie and Paul were quick to contact us and sort everything out so that we were able to have our best day ever, and we are so grateful to have our favorite BBQ spot be such a wonderful part of our memories forever!! (Word on the street is, sometimes the caterers will head onto the dance floor and get the party started!) Oh -- and if you're debating, add the brisket, you won't regret it! THANK YOU, CURRITUCK! As former NC natives, we missed Carolina BBQ and knew we had to have it at our wedding. After our tasting, we knew Currituck BBQ was the one. Their price point was also much more reasonable than other caterers we interviewed. We got SO many compliments from our guests that they loved the food! Leslie was quick with communication and so easy to work with. The staff was very professional, courteous, and most importantly, FUN. We loved that they got out on the dance floor with us (and so did our guests). We also enjoyed the left overs the next day and they were still delicious. I would definitely recommend Currituck BBQ to anyone looking to serve an amazing and filling meal to his or her guests.

Everything was great, no question about it. Most importantly, the food was fantastic! The folks doing the setup and serving were 100% on the ball and they were all very friendly. The display for the appetizers was very well done and the spinach dip was super tasty. We ended up with a good deal of leftovers, which was nice. All of these positive things and the prices were super reasonable. We cannot recommend these guys enough.

Amazing food and absolute professionals to work with. Our first wedding was interrupted by Hurricane Matthew. Given the circumstances they worked with us to cancel everything. A year later when we finally had the wedding we planned they were right there for us - everything just as we'd planned it! The food was awesome. So good in fact, we stopped on our way home and got take out! I'd highly recommend them for any gathering at the beach.

Don't even contemplate anyone else, great price, amazing food and fantastic people!!! We received a recommendation for Currituck BBQ from our event coordinator at our chosen wedding venue. We decided to stop in one day to try their food, and boy were we sold after taking one bite! I am from Texas, so I am picky about bbq, but I was so happy that this is an AMAZING North Carolina bbq. When you walk up to the counter, you are greeted and called sweety, which made me feel at home and did I mention how AMAZING the food is?! From the tasting to the menu selection, to the changes we had to make due to fewer guests, the staff was amazing. On the day of the wedding, 10/7/2017, we had one bartender and two caterers and all were FABULOUS!! They interacted with our guests and us and everyone loved the food and service they received. I seriously wish I could rate them higher, they were a true delight and made our catering portion of our wedding planning SO simple and not one bit stressful.

Oh my goodness, the catering/bartending services for our wedding were so so great! It was so nice to find a caterer that provided both, and they let us use our own alcohol. My uncle is a liquor rep so this saved us a ton of money! We stop here every time on our way back to the airport from OBX. Everyone raved about the food - especially the mac and cheese. Leslie was so easy to work with. She even ordered plain white plates to perfectly match our decor. The servers were fun, professional, and so personable. Thank you Currituck BBQ for everything!!

I wish I could give Currituck BBQ 10 stars. They are the BEST! I got married about two weeks ago and my guests are still raving about the food. It's the best BBQ I've ever had!! In the time leading up to the event, Paul and Leslie were very responsive, they answered my emails within the hour every time! They are super easy to work with! The guys that came to set up and serve, they are AMAZING!!! We loved them and my guests loved them!!! Super friendly and extremely helpful. My mom is in a wheelchair so it was a bit of a task to get her out to the beach for the wedding, the caterers stepped right up and helped!! I can't say enough nice things about Currituck BBQ. Everything about them was just amazing. There are a bunch of BBQ restaurants in the OBX, but I am SO HAPPY that I went with Currituck BBQ. If you are feeling indecisive, pick them 100%!!!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!!

Currituck BBQ is perfect for wedding catering! They included the plates, silverware, drinks, food, and service for a very affordable fee (especially compared to many of the caterers in the area.) The food was a huge hit at the reception! The setup for cocktail hour was pretty and delicious and the buffet for the reception was AMAZING. There is an option if the caterers wear black tie attire or overalls, so they wore our overalls for our wedding and the catering personal in charge at Currituck BBQ went above and beyond to order aqua colored ties (that matched the bridesmaids' dresses) that the caterers wore with their overalls! Do a taste test there and you won't want to choose anywhere else!

If you are looking for the best BBQ, Currituck BBQ is the way to go! Don't let the small barn-style restaurant fool you. When we went to our first tasting with Currituck BBQ, we felt no need to look elsewhere. We actually cancelled all of our other tastings for the day simply because it was that good. The cost per plate was $29, far below average wedding plate fees. We had pulled pork, brisket, hush puppies, sweet potato casserole, southern-style green beans, appetizers, a bartender, etc. The food simply was the epitome of southern comfort food. Therefore we told our guests, “please bring your bibs, and yes, it's that kind of wedding”. Big shout out to the servers and all the supporting Currituck BBQ staff there the day of our wedding. I remember finishing up my meal when my maid of honor came up to me raving about how servers were so professional yet personable. We loved hearing that everyone felt so comfortable - it was as though guests and staff were all one big happy family in this together. Towards the end of the night, some of our servers even ended up on the dance floor to show off their moves. I was quick to tell our wedding planner that it was totally fine and that we loved it. This is who we are and what we want - everyone to have an awesome time. I kept making jokes to my friends and family, saying "yeah, we got a 2 for 1 deal - food plus break dancers!" When you pay for a service and you get more than just your standard service, you truly feel blessed. Thank you Currituck BBQ for pairing your amazing food with service with a smile and personality!

We knew we wanted BBQ at our wedding and when we went to the Bridal Expo in January we had a lot of choices. After narrowing it down to two, we decided to go with Currituck BBQ Co. It was the right choice! We got so many compliments on the food from our guests. Also, most of the locals that asked us about the details of our wedding reaffirmed our choice, it's a local favorite! There was so much food, there was plenty to go around a couple times (and even enough for tasty leftovers the next day). We got delivery service, 2 main dishes (Pulled Pork and Fried Chicken) and 3 side dishes, we also got 2 appetizers. It was excellent food and for a great price! Overall a terrific deal! We will definitely be stopping and eating there next time we are in the area!

Our guests still haven't stopped raving about how amazing the food was!! Everything went perfectly. The staff was friendly and professional and even got out on the dance floor with us. They were a blast. I would recommend Currituck BBQ to anyone looking for good food and a worry/stress free event. They took care of everything!

Absolutely amazing!!!!!!! The caterers were so nice and the food was phenomenal! We hired them for our destination wedding and our guests raved about the food! People were coming up for seconds, thirds and forths! They made sure there was enough food for the groom and myself to eat as we were running around with the photographer. They packed everything up for us, even the iced tea and Lemonade. They all gave me a huge hug and congratulations at the end of the night. Felt just like having close friends there! Hire these guys. They will not disappoint!!!!!! I would hire them again in a heart beat!!!!!

Currituck BBQ catered our wedding reception in the 4x4 area, and it was absolutely amazing! Paul (the owner) came out to the event home where we had the wedding super early in the morning the day of our wedding to begin preparations for the whole hog - talk about dedication!! All of the food was absolutely amazing - our guests raved about everything!! And the people that work at Currituck BBQ are some of the best people that you will ever work with - so so friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your day extra special. We would highly recommend Currituck BBQ - and will definitely be dropping in for a fantastic meal whenever we are in the Outer Banks!

We came across Currituck BBQ when planning our wedding back in 2013 and after reading reviews on WW and Yelp, we decided to reach out to the company. We worked with the owner, Paul, and Leslie, the events coordinator. From the first time we spoke with Leslie, we knew we were in good hands. She offered to do a tasting with us even before we put a deposit down. We were able to bring a couple guests with us and we got to try almost everything on the catering menu. It was so much fun and the food was simply fantastic. At the tasting, we also met Paul, and he sealed the deal for us. The passion he has for his food and company was so geniune and exciting -- I felt like we had been let in on a little secret!
We didn't get married until Sept. 2015, but throughout the process, Leslie was very helpful and answered all of my emails with patience and grace. We asked for a couple of off-menu items, and she immediately said “yes”. While we were on the phone discussing the items, she starting looking at Pinterest for ideas on how to serve it! She is so thoughtful and goes out of her way to help.
On the day of our wedding, Paul brought his deep fryer and fried fresh catfish on site. It felt very special to have that experience be a part of our wedding day! It's almost been about a year since our wedding and people are still talking about the food - especially the burnt ends brisket. Lastly, Paul's waitstaff for our wedding were exceptional. They were kind and professional. I very much appreciated their helpfulness and friendliness throughout the night. I still remember walking off the beach and seeing all the boys standing in line at the food table, hands behind their backs, smiling. They brought an element of refinement and pride to our little backyard wedding. Having Currituck at our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. Thank you Paul, Leslie and the entire team at Currituck for making our day so special.

MUST HAVE if you are doing barbecue for your wedding! I cannot believe how many guests from my wedding are STILL talking about the food that Currituck BBQ provided. They were so easy to work with, a great price, and very professional. Our number of guests changed 3 weeks before the wedding and they refunded the difference without any issues. The shrimp & grits were out of this world! Would absolutely recommend them to everyone!

Currituck BBQ was such an affordable caterer, but the price did not in any way reflect the quality of the food. We had a rustic wedding at a vineyard and Currituck BBQ was not only affordable, but all of our guests commented on how delicious the food was. Everyone loved the southern comfort style cooking. The serving staff even saved appetizers served during the cocktail hour and gave them to my groom and I during dinner since we missed enjoying them while we were taking pictures. The staff was very kind and professional and even boxed up the leftovers and sent them with our families. We were so pleased (and so were our guests!) by the great food served by Currituck BBQ Company!

While BBQ isn't everyone's first choice for wedding food, it was definitely ours! After reading reviews and checking websites we decided on Currituck BBQ! After a tasting with them we knew we had made the right choice. Paul the owner is a really friendly guy that was able to field all our questions. Leslie was also instrumental and helpful getting everything set up. The day of they were at our place nice and early to get everything set up and ready to go which really gave us piece of mind. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the woman in charge the day of our event because I would love to give her credit for an awesome job! The food was phenomenal. We had so many people going up for seconds and raving about it. The only negative was that they forgot our hushpuppies!! The workers that served the BBQ were also really friendly and fun. We even got them out on the dance floor for a song after they had finished and cleaned up. We look forward to stopping at Currituck on future OBX trips!

Everyone was great! The staff was so helpful! They were even helping my family as they were putting together last minute details. They made everything so much less stressful. When we first met them at a wedding expo they were so much fun and personable! They definitely have fun at there job! The food of course was wonderful! We had a lot of people say how much they enjoyed their food and there was PLENTY to go around! They left the leftovers for us to take and for the next 3weeks we had BBQ, sweet tea and lemonade. When I communicated with them they were very clear and there seemed to be no communication problems. They did what they said they would, and more!

When my now husband and I told our guests we were having old fashioned NC BBQ for our wedding, we definitely heard a few "really?", but Currituck blew our guests out of the water. From the service to the taste and temperature of the food, everything was phenomenal. We couldn't have asked for a better caterer experience, especially with the budget we had. Our guests are still talking about how good the food was! I would highly recommend using Currituck!

The highlight of our wedding was the food!
We knew we wanted something simple and filling and southern.
Currituck BBQ was the only restaurant that we contacted that offered to do a food tasting for us. And the tasting was amazing, we knew right then we wanted to use them!
My husbands family is from Illinois and had never had north carolina style BBQ.
They could not stop raving about how great the food was. We chose the pulled pork, pulled bbq chicken, green beans, baked beans, cole slaw, hushpuppies, and sweet potatoe casserole for our dinner menu. For our cocktail hour we had crab dip, spinach artichoke dip and queso dip.
Our guests talked about how great the food was the entire night and into the next week.
I cannot begin to talk about how great Paul was to work with and everyone on staff. They were prompt, they were sincere, they were fun, and they helped in every way possible.
Our grandma is not a fan of spicy food, so one of the waiters told her that the one of the dips may be a little spicy for her. When she went through the buffet for dinner, the waitress remembered she wasn't a fan of spicy food and recommended a sauce she would like for her pork.
Little things like that go a long way.
They packed up our leftovers for us and sent us a text meesage to let us know where everything was. The helped us clean up and were great in every way.
Even the bartenders were great. They were so attentive and the speed of service was great.
I can't say enough about Currituck BBQ. They are the best!!!

My fiance and I knew we wanted BBQ for our wedding reception. We took two trips down to OBX to try out restaurants. Currituck's food is exceptional. The mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole is to die for. Paul and his staff were extremely quick giving us their quotes and answering all of my questions. I received emails back within a day. Our guests all said our food was fantastic. The day of the ceremony, Paul and his staff really went above and beyond my expections. I suddenly realized that I didn't have anyone to set up our cupcakes since everyone was getting ready for the ceremony - Currituck came to the rescue and set them up. I accidentally put pulled chicken on the chalkboard menu I made. It was actually BBQ chicken and Paul volunteered to go out that day and get me pulled chicken (we didn't take him up on that but really that's above and beyond). They staff arrived early, were extremely professional and we didn't have to clean up a thing.
I'm so happy we picked Currituck.

Currituck BBQ catered my daughter's beach wedding and did a spectacular job. All our guests loved the food! We used Currituck BBQ for our rehearsal dinner. Their food is outstanding! Everyone loved the rehearsal dinner food even more than the food at our reception. Their staff were friendly, professional, and easy to work with. Even if you don't use Currituck BBQ as your caterer, be sure to stop by their restaurant for a meal on you way to or from the Outer Banks- you'll be glad you did!

When I began my search for my caterer, we researched many BBQ places in the OBX. My husband and I knew we wanted to go with a BBQ/luau type theme-bbq, some type of chicken, fresh veggies,fruit etc. I called around and compared prices and options. When I called Currituck BBQ, I spoke with the manager Paul...who is wonderful,very funny! He was easy to talk to and was very confident in the quality of their food and what they offered for the price, especially compared to other places. He even suggested that I come do a food tasting for me to taste and see for myself. So my mother and I went down... and lord and behold what a treat. Everything was delicious! I wasn't going to do heavy sides until I had them and decided to add the southern flare to our menu. After our experience there and the great hospitality we received it was no doubt we were going with them for our catering. Our menu consisted of pulled-pork bbq, bbq chicken, coleslaw, macaroni n cheese, seasoned green beans and sweet potato casserole-(my absolute fav.) and rolls. During the cocktail hour while we were at the beach doing pictures we had fresh fruit and veggies and cheese and crackers. We went with lighter appetizers because the meal was so heavy and filling. Let me tell you we have heard only the best about the food and the staff. Everyone keeps raving about how excellent everything was and how the staff seemed like friends at the wedding. Currituck BBQ comes highly recommended...you def. won't be disappointed!!!

Currituck BBQ catered my wedding. I opted for just delivery. However, there were many options you can choose from. From delivery and set up, to just delivery and to them even serving the food. The food was delicious! We had many compliments on the food. There was one slight bump in the road though. We had pulled pork and pulled chicken BBQ but rolls were not delivered. Rolls may or may not have been included in my contract with them though. Luckily, we had someone run out and get some. The issue was never resolved. Currituck BBQ never contacted me back. Even with the slight bump in the road I would still recommend them. Just double check your contract and ask questions to clarify what all your contract entails. Still one of my favorite places to stop in for a bite. I recommend their banana pudding!

Destination wedding in Nags Head, NC
I selected Currituck BBQ because of their reasonable rates and great reviews on Wedding Wire. Our experience was not so great. The last communication I had with Leslie, our contact person was when I gave the final head count and she updated our contract. I emailed her on 4/5, 2 days before the wedding to confirm everything. The morning of the wedding 4/7/19, a Sunday, I realized I had heard nothing from the caterer. After several phone calls, and being told that Leslie would be in on Monday, we were finally directed to someone who knew about our event and said the delivery person would leave at 2pm. Our wedding was scheduled for 3 and would be brief. The food was delivered at 2:45pm as I was trying to get organized for the ceremony. The cocktail hour food and the buffet were to be set up in two different rooms which I quickly reviewed with the delivery guy, who was very pleasant. At 3:30pm, the ceremony ended and 50 guests made their way to the cocktail hour room, but the food was still not set up. The buffet was set up, but not cocktail hour. Another guest and myself finished uncovering food and re warming my crab dip, which Currituck had agreed to serve. The food was average, we had pork BBQ and fried chicken. The macaroni and cheese and the steamed shrimp were the tastiest items. Today is 3 days after the wedding and I have yet to have any correspondence from Leslie. Surprising since my last email was the panicked one, the day of the wedding.
