Made our wedding night the best!!!!

We worked with The Current Affair for our wedding this past weekend on 10/12/24. I'm not kidding when I say the band moved me to tears numerous times throughout the night, they were SO GOOD. Every person was dancing the entire night and numerous people got the bands cards at the end of the night for future events.

Working with them leading up to the event was also seamless and they were very responsive. We had 3 of the band members play at our cocktail hour too. We shared a Spotify playlist of what we wanted as a reference party but knew that they knew best in terms of getting people on the dance floor and thats what they did. They helped us throw the greatest party ever!

4th Wedding with the Best Band!

John,
Thank you for the incredible entertainment at a 4th DeChello wedding!! You and your band bring it every time! The crowd loves you and we do too. Once you start playing the dance floor is packed until the end of the night and we are always requesting one more song!!
We made the right decision 6 years ago in hiring you for Nick and Alana’s wedding, 3 1/2 years ago for Jamie and Rick’s wedding, 1 1/2 years ago for Mike and Megan’s wedding and Saturday night for Christina and Aaron’s wedding!! Best decisions we made! No doubt in our mind that Current Affair makes the wedding!!

Incredible experience - better than we could have imagined!!

I don’t even know where to begin with John and Current Affair. I’m delayed in my review (married August 13th) but evenly almost two months out, we’re still on a MAJOR high from the wedding, primarily because of the music! So many little details of the day have become less important, but the part of the wedding we reminisce about most was the music - both the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We had seen the band perform at a friend’s wedding a year prior and were so impressed; I called John the following Monday. They were the first vendor we booked in the process, and honestly, the absolute best investment we made in this wedding. I’m a wordy person, and I don’t have the vocabulary to describe how incredible the band is - I’m talking Broadway talent (actually, not figuratively). We had a fun and wild group of guests, but you took it to the next level. We had to drag people out of the venue onto the bus kicking and screaming. People are still talking about it and asking us about the band 2 months later!

Onto the specifics, working with John (the band President) was a great experience start to finish. He’s responsive and nice, and he REALLY knows his sh*t when it comes to music. John is accommodating and patient (we had 7000 questions even a few days before). John has a variety of singers and musicians that are legitimately in Broadway productions and join the band off season or out of production. People knew who some of them were; it’s mind-boggling. My husband does music production on the side and he and his friends are very musically-oriented, and they were beside themselves with the quality of the band, so imagine what your average person would think of them!

We had a perfect day and an amazing ceremony, but the band all were the stars of the evening (alongside us ;)), and we could not be more impressed or grateful. Thank you for making our wedding the truly incredible experience that it was. I’m sure everyone feels that way about their own day, but this one takes the cake!!!

Best Wedding Band!!

I cannot thank Current Affair enough! They played at my cousin’s wedding a year ago and I knew I had to book them for mine. Communication with John was effortless via email and phone calls. We had one guitarist play for cocktail hour. He not only is an exceptional guitarist but his vocals will blow you away at the reception. I told John I just wanted people dancing all night. I had no doubt they would deliver but they exceeded my expectations. The dance floor was packed the entire night. Each member of the band is uniquely talented, this allows them to cover all genres. They know how to keep the crowd engaged and on the dance floor. They do not stop playing the entire night. During dinner one singer did Bohemian Rhapsody. He walked around to different tables, everyone sang along and loved it. They played all of our requests and even learned Irish songs for us. My favorite memory was when the band was practicing our first dance song when my husband and I viewed the reception room. It felt so special because it was just the two of us enjoying a private moment after getting married. I received so many complements about the band and cannot recommend them enough.

Hire this band immediately

Do yourself a favor and hire Current Affair for your wedding. They hands down made our wedding- they kept our guests dancing all night long. We had friends and family coming up to us all night telling us it was the best wedding band they’ve ever heard. On top of that, we asked them to play some pretty hard songs for our first dances and they NAILED it. They have a huge repertoire and the talent is insane. John who handles band logistics and MC is so nice and responds to emails immediately. Hire them- you’ll be so glad you did. They have our highest recommendation and we’re forever grateful.

Amazing...everyone was on the dance floor all night!!

Amazing band!! My family has hired them to play at numerous family affairs....always a pleasure to work with and all guests are on the dance floor! They are able to play from all genres which is great..there is something for all generations to listen to and dance to. Always willing to accommodate any music requests that you may have. Guests actually said that as soon as they saw that I hired the same band as past events, they knew my daughter's wedding would be an incredible celebration!! Run, don't walk, to book Current Affair...you and your guests will be so happy you did!!

Outstandingly talented and fun!

This band is UNBELIEVABLE! I first saw them play at one of my best friend's weddings a few years back, so when it came time to choose a band for my wedding, I knew we had to look no further! John is exceptionally easy, friendly and helpful to deal with and every member of the band is an outstanding talent! The depth of musical variety is unparalleled, and they are FUN FUN FUN! We have been hearing non-stop from all of our guests that "this was the best wedding band they have ever seen!" I could not agree more. They even helped me with an unusual request for a Willie Nelson classic to honor my Dad who had passed, and they NAILED IT! I can say with absolute certainty you will NOT be disappointed in this band!

Our experience with John and his band was absolutely incredible! Words cannot describe how amazing they were. We are still receiving compliments from that night of how great the band was. Beyond amazing

Hands down this is the best band I could have booked for my wedding. People were calling me weeks later saying how amazing they were, friends who could not attend were calling me telling me they heard how amazing the band was and they were so sad they weren’t there. I had a family friend tell me they made it the best wedding she had been to in 10 years. They can play anything and knew how to keep the party going. 200000000/10 would recommend

Speechless!

There are NO WORDS to describe how amazing Current Affair was. They were the #1 BEST THING about my wedding. The talent is unmatched and my guests were on the dance floor the ENTIRE night. One of my favorite things about them was that they played live music the entire night without stopping which kept everyone so entertained even while eating. John was absolutely incredible at MC'ing and Current Affair was able to fulfill all of my requests. They played piano and guitar at my ceremony, piano at my cocktail hour, and the full band joined for the reception. I had 3 singers and their voices were absolutely incredible none of my guests can stop talking about it. I've been to a LOT of weddings and I have NEVER seen a band with this much talent. 10/10 would 100% recommend.

3rd family wedding they played - best of the best!

Current Affair makes every affair one to remember ! This was our 3rd time hiring John and his group at one of our children’s weddings and, we, as well as our guests, continue to rant and rave about how they get better and better with every event! John is the easiest and kindest man to work with! He listens to your personal request for music and songs and has a versatile playlist that your guests will surely enjoy! Each performer and musician is extremely professional and incredibly talented. If you want a band that will keep your guests on their feet all night, Current Affair is the one to book! The best!

I was just married on 10/11/2020 and Current Affair is truly the BEST in the business! Between the music, the singing and the dancing we could not have asked for anything more! While the pandemic brought some challenges, John stuck with us through it all. He was fantastic to work with and helped us to stay positive. The guitarist played beautifully at our ceremony and the band had everyone up on the dance floor at our reception! They even learned new songs for us too! We received endless compliments throughout the night from all of our guests. If you are looking for a band for your big day you will LOVE Current Affair! They love what they do and you will love having them there!

We Cannot Stop Smiling!

John and The Current Affair Band were above and beyond everything we could have hoped for! Getting married during the current pandemic environment was hard enough, so having John be so responsive and willing to work with us to make our wedding day so special was simply amazing. Even with restrictions and safety precautions in place, it did not stop our guests from flooding the dance floor for the entire night! For days afterwards, our family and friends could not stop raving about how great our band was! I highly recommend hiring The Current Affair Band for your wedding or event, as you will NOT be disappointed. We plan on hiring them in the future for any and all events!

Amazing! This wonderful group of talented people played at our daughter’s NY wedding 11 years ago and this past weekend traveled to NH for us to play at our son’s wedding!! And having a wedding during these times had some challenges ...three venue changes, two date changes, Covid precautions! John stuck with us through it all! And we are SO grateful! The guitarist played at the ceremony and the cocktail hour, with the full band rocking the ball room until midnight!! Everyone loved them! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

From the moment we met with John (Band leader), he could not have been more accommodating and honest! He delivered what was promised and more—beyond my expectations! Spectacular

This band STOLE the show at our wedding! I cannot begin to count the number of compliments we have received! They played every era, every genre! There was NOTHING they couldn’t master! They had the entire wedding on the dance floor the entire time!! John is the most patient, easygoing, and organized person to work with. It was a pleasure to work with him! He never made me feel like I was annoying either, and I totally was!!!
They provided huge screens and zap photographer for real time photos to be played AND for sentimental slideshows to play that my mother had prepared for our dances. Could NOT have asked for more!

For the ultimate dance party, this band will absolutely deliver - and more

John and the entire Current Affair team were professional, responsive, flexible - and they delivered far better of an experience than I could have ever imagined.
Knowing the band would be the most important thing at our wedding, we saw and spoke with literally hundreds of bands before my parents remembered the band playing at one of their friends weddings they said was the best dance party they’ve been to....and we got their contact info and John was so real, down to earth, and professional.
beyond the ease to work with in the planning process (no red taps or management teams - your talking to the band lead the whole time), John and entire his team just delivered such an unreal performance on the day. They crush the oldies like the real deal and they also play songs of today. Just a few days before my wedding I requested a song they didn’t know and but they somehow practiced on their own that week and pulled it off on the day.
We had Johns group play during the ceremony as well - and the guitarist absolutely crushed it. We added horns for a surprise “all you need is love” performance and it was perfect.
Every band member was great. The horns (this was important to us!), John on the guitar, people were literally bowing at the guitarist and ever single person in the band was just exceptional.

John is seriously the man - he really knows how to run the show and put on a party guaranteed to have everyone on the dance floor.

Book this band!

Our planning process was very long. John was essentially ‘stuck’ with me for almost 3 very up and down years! We started our journey before any talk of COVID and milestone events being postponed and/or cancelled. And ended our planning process after 3 postponed dates, a new baby and being already married! And I am happy John was along for the ride the whole way through. He handled every change I threw his way with grace, patience and acceptance.

John not only made the planning and booking process unbelievably easy he made sure to SHOW UP at our wedding! I was not prepared for the talent he and the other artists were bringing to our wedding. I and the rest of our guests were floored! Current Affairs absolutely makes you feel like royalty when they perform for YOU and your guests at your wedding. The amount of talent that pours out of these individuals feels like they should be performing for celebrities.

I really can go on and on with how much I LOVED this band! Our wedding was almost 5 months ago and I still get compliments with our band! I told my dad that some friends are asking for recommendations on vendors and he said ‘there should be no question, if they were at your wedding, Current Affairs should be booked.’

So, if you’re not going to take it from me, take it from my dad! Book Current Affairs!

Great afternoon at The Crescent Beach Club

Current Affair was great! They are very unique in that they will learn and play any song you want. Most bands have a limit to the songs you can request. Our guests were very happy with their music. John is great to work with!

My Daughters Wedding

My daughter Láuren recently got married at the Crescent Beach Club in Bayville, LI. The reception was amazing, an unforgettable evening. The Current Affair contributed to the unforgettable evening. Best wedding band ever!

I cannot put into words how THRILLED I am with Current Affair’s performance at my wedding!! Everyone literally danced the entire time which was exactly what I was hoping for! They ended the night with a performance of Mr. Brightside which completely brought the house down. I had wedding guests who are professional musicians come up to me and tell me they couldn’t believe how amazing the band was!

Additionally, John was GREAT to work with and we are so thankful he and the band played the songs we requested including a last minute request of the portuguese rendition of “Girl from Ipanema” for my mother in law who is Brazilian (she cried the entire time they played it.) I really cannot say enough about this band!! Plus their price is completely reasonable! If you are looking to book a talented band for an event Current Affair is it.

Best Wedding Band

John and Current Affair were (according to over a dozen of our guests) the best wedding band ever. We couldn't be happier with our choice. They kept the dance floor packed all night with a fantastic blend of classics and contemporary hits. They were also very flexible as we requested my brother's girlfriend to sing our first dance song with the band. John was prompt in his replies throughout the entire process and he really helped our special day go very smoothly. An all around amazing experience.

Best Wedding Band EVER!!!!

I wish I could give a rating higher than 5 stars. We just had our wedding at the Ryland Inn this past weekend and the John and the rest of the band absolutely MADE the party. The dance floor was packed the entire night - even guests that we had never seen dance in the past were on their feet for most of the wedding! Music was so important to us that we sent the band an exhaustive list of songs we wanted to hear, and they played ALL of them (including several in Spanish and Italian), and played them beautifully! In the days since the wedding, guests have reached out to comment on how wonderful the band was. My only regret is that we barely had a chance to eat because every song was better than the next and we didn't want to miss the opportunity to dance and celebrate with our loved ones. Thank you, Current Affair, for making this wedding so memorable!

The best band out there!

“Current Affair” makes the party! Over the past ten years we have enjoyed them at eight weddings, two of which were for our own children. We wouldn’t dream of having a wedding or event without them! They never take a break, they play to every generation, and they are a pleasure to deal with. The only advice - make sure your dance floor is big enough for all your guests! "Current Affair" is worth every penny!

Too many good things to say!

Incredible quality, talent, RANGE and experience with these guys! We are so grateful to have worked with them, and we have received a new compliment every single day since our wedding on the music!
There are truly too many positive things to say about John and his crew. I communicated with John for essentially two years before my wedding, and every time the conversations were just great. He was able to accommodate a lot of my crazy asks! I had even requested that they "play" a song that didn't seem possible to me to be played by a band (danse kuduro), and they absolutely NAILED it at the wedding! When I talk about range, I truly mean it. They played everything from Led Zeppelin to Rihanna, to Cardi B and even surprised my dad with some Grateful Dead!!
I would recommend The Current Affair to anyone who wants to have a sincerely awesome party and jam packed dance floor at their wedding. They were off the charts!

OMG!! John and his band just played our wedding and they were AMAZING! Great music, great vibes, great energy! It's exactly what my husband and I wanted for our wedding - to have fun and celebrate the fact that we were getting married. The variety of music that this band can play is superb, and their singers are out of this world. We wanted everything from 80's & 90's hip hop to 70's R&B to some Italian tarantella...and they played it all. Not to mention all the classics and some beautiful instrumentals that they played during our cocktail hour and while meals were being served (very important to us as we wanted music played all night long). John and Current Affair Music are simply the best!

Current Affair is an AMAZING wedding band, and band leader John is a super sweet and fun guy to work with. At our request he put together for us an 8-piece band that included 2 female vocalists (male & female). All vocalists, including backup vocals, were very talented and soulful. Band members had great stage presence and engaged the crowd, and all of our guests had a great time dancing and were super complimentary of our band choice. We wanted them to play a mix of top 40, classic rock, Motown, and oldies - they nailed it all. Aside from the reception music, John also organized a classical guitarist to play during the ceremony and a jazz trio to play during cocktail hour. Current Affair provided the perfect ambiance for every step of our wedding!

My sister used Current Affair for her wedding, which was amazing, so it was the obvious choice for us but even still, they exceeded our expectations! I would say that by far, they were the easiest people I had to deal with throughout the entire wedding planning process. John was so easy going and responsive it was a breeze. They asked for a few songs we loved and hated and ran with it and did a perfect job! I think I even heard most if not all of the "love" songs played! Just about every guest was up and dancing and after the fact told me how amazing the band was, like they needed to confirm for me! They did a great job of mixing up the songs to appeal to all of our guests and keeping the energy high at all times. My dad said it perfectly that if you did not enjoy the band and have fun, you're not gonna have fun anywhere. HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

John and his band did an amazing job. We could not have asked for more. We chose them based off a recommendation and we are so thankful we did! The dance floor was packed all night. The music was excellent from beginning to end EVERY guest complimented our band. Current affair really set the tone for our reception and ensured our guest had a great time celebrating. John was very accommodating and flexible with every single request we had. They were able to play a variety of music and their Bill Joel songs were on point! We are so happy we chose Current Affair!

We used Current Affair for our daughters wedding 5/27/2018. This band was amazing! The dance floor was packed all night. They are so talented and truly was the best band we could have ever imagined. My guests keep calling and asking us who the band was. They keep saying it was the best band they have heard at a wedding. The venue who hears bands every weekend for years was complimenting this band . Before you book your date, make sure this band is available!

John Napolitano and his friends at Current Affair are more than just a band that played at our wedding; I now consider them part of the family. As the third sister in my family to to have Current Affair play at our weddings, I have to say they stole the show each and every time. Their kindness, enthusiasm, and excitement for each song they played echoed throughout the room. The amount of people that came up to me saying they were the best wedding band they've ever heard blew me out of the water. Creating a setlist based upon our favorite musicians and bands was such a special gift and really made our wedding celebration personal. I must add- John does a fabulous Billy Joel set list during dinner that makes you think you are listening to the Piano Man himself. I would highly recommend Current Affair for any occasion and only hope that in the future I get to attend a party and see their happy faces jamming out again soon!

Book Current Affair for your event!! From the get go, John was simply a pleasure to work with throughout the entire planning process. He was extremely responsive and very informative. I had been to two weddings already that featured the band so I knew how talented they are, but I had no idea how truly great they were to work with until I experienced it firsthand. John was very thorough when speaking about our song selection. He wanted to make sure that they had a firm grasp on our tastes and expectations. The night of the wedding blew us away. Every single song we had requested was played and everything else that they added to the set list fit perfectly. Our guests never sat down; everyone was dancing until they kicked us out. In the days following our wedding, I can’t tell you how many compliments we received from our guests about how much they enjoyed the band. I cannot recommend Current Affair enough. I wish I had more events that I could book them for.

Current Affair is in a class of their own when you’re thinking of bands. The caliber of their performers made our night unforgettable and unreal. I can’t even express how amazing they were. John, the band leader is the most amazing person to work with. He went above and beyond to learn and play every single song we asked for. We had 90’s music, Disney music, Broadway, Spanish, and during dinner, he played a Billy Joel set which was like we were at a private concert. People have him a standing ovation!!!!! Pia Toscano of American Idol was the lead singer, and she sang our wedding song. I wish I could relive that moment for the rest of my life! The floor was packed from the first dance to the encore song (that everyone chanted and begged for!). People are still RAVING about them, saying they want them at every event for the rest of their lives! John and Current Affair will NOT disappoint.

Current Affair was amazing! They beyond talented and my guests at my wedding could not stop raving about them, even days after. They listened to me and my husband's interests and likes and executed beautifully. Everyone was on the dance floor, all night long, until the last song played. We are so happy we went with them and highly recommend!

Current Affair performed at my wedding in September 2017. They are INCREDIBLE. I hired them having only seen their videos online. They are one million times better in person. My guest age range was 10-87 years old and every single person spent the majority of the night on the dance floor. Dinner was late because no one wanted to stop dancing! My guests have not stopped talking about how fantastic our band was and I couldn't agree more. John, the manager, is extremely kind, responsive, and patient, and the band members themselves could not have been more lovely. Each of them added wonderful and positive energy to the evening. Last but not least: my wedding was on a small island, so they had to travel by boat, with their gear, to and from the event. No one even complained. I am not much of an online reviewer but Current Affair deserves this praise and more. I cannot wait to hire them again, and neither can several of my guests!

The band was phenomenal. We are trying to recuperate from a great party and people are constantly calling to say the music was great. John put together amazingly talented people. Many of our guests were musicians and had a true appreciation for the diverse talents of each individual member of the band. The dance floor was packed with all ages, and when eating, guests told us it was as though they were at an intimate concert. Even our guests who had to drive back to Montauk that night and had to get up early, stayed until the last minute (midnight) to enjoy the music. With many thanks,

Current Affair played at my son & daughter in law's wedding and they were fabulous. We received many compliments during and after the wedding. They are all very talented professionals and the entire wedding reception was a lot of fun. I highly recommend Current Affair to anyone. In fact I have booked them for a 60th birthday party.

Current Affair performed at our black tie gala at the American Museum of Natural History, and they had all 600 guests up and dancing the entire night! I would recommend this band for any event, big or small they know how to bring energy to the room and leave your guests with a memorable and fun night!

John and Current Affair truly made our wedding spectacular. The dance floor was full from the moment we entered the ballroom until the lights were turned on at the end of a perfect night. In addition to being attentive, response and easy to deal with, he made the whole process stress free. Current Affair learned all of the songs we specially requested and played them exactly when the crowd wanted them. We asked John to use his judgement with the playlist once he felt the room out and he absolutely nailed it. John came out on the floor and got the crowd jumping to Shout and even played along with my cousin's as they sang two songs. We did a ton of research looking into bands and couldn't be happier with the decision and price point. We added brass to the main group and highly recommend it. The band truly makes the difference between a good wedding and a great wedding. Dozens of people, including many professional musicians complimented us on the band and the high quality of sound and play. In fact, John ran out of business cards at the wedding he was so popular. The three engaged couples at our wedding have already reached out to John for their wedding. Call him soon as you don't want to miss out on Current Affair and I know they book up very early.

Current Affair was the highlight of our wedding weekend! We have gotten so many compliments on the music! Our dance floor was packed all night long and every song the played sounded amazing! Book them... NOW! I 110% recommend this amazing, talented group to be included in your wedding plans. This was our absolute favorite vendor and guest favorite by far. Everyone always says that the band and the food make or break the wedding, so choosing this crew would absolutely make your night an unforgettable one! Multiple friends have already asked for their information to book them for their own weddings. They cater to your musical interests and work with your crowd of any and every age. I don't think one guest was sitting for the entire reception, which was our hope and dream come true. After the last song, the entire dance floor was screaming, "One More Song!". Weeks later, friends and family are STILL talking about our band. Thank you for making our wedding the best day of our lives! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Current Affair played at my wedding a few weeks ago (10/1/16), and they were awesome!! Throughout the planning process John was extremely easy, and pleasant to work with - which is always a plus when dealing with vendors. At the wedding they totally exceeded my expectations!! They played everything from current songs to classics AND sounded SO good in everything they played. People were on the dance floor the entire night, and people kept coming up to me saying that the band so awesome (which is always so nice for the bride to hear:) When I talk about the wedding with people now weeks later -- they are still bringing up how good the band was (which is still so nice for the bride to hear!!) They even performed a special request of Drop Kick Murphy's which was AMAZING!! I would 100% recommend Current Affair for a wedding band -- you will be very happy you did!!

Current Affair is amazing! So many of our guests commented throughout and after the wedding about how awesome the band was!! They played exactly the type of music we requested (without needing much direction at all) and the dance floor was packed the entire time. The sound quality was perfect. Several people mentioned that the songs were so spot on that they could not believe a real band was playing it, in a good way! Maurice nailed our wedding song, which had a really unique sound. They have a lot of diversity within their singers and are as good at the new hits as they are at the golden oldies. In addition, John was so helpful throughout the entire planning process and made it as easy as possible! Don't hesitate in booking Current Affair!! Choosing them was one of, if not our best, wedding planning decision!

Current Affair far exceeded our expectations! From their unwavering commitment to satisfy our wishes to collaborating with other entertainers including singer and DJ they were AWESOME. They played all the current contemporary songs which was important to us considering our crowd was predominantly in their 30's. Their pricing was more than competitive to the other bands we priced out. THIS BAND IS THE WAY TO GO!!

Current Affairs were easy to work with from the beginning. They responded quickly. They were extremely flexible and accommodating. The singer/guitarist at the ceremony was amazing. He joined my brother-in-law for beautiful music together. The procession music for the bridesmaids was dramatic and absolutely beautiful.
At the reception, the band never stopped. Great music continued throughout the reception and everyone danced. Friends that never ever get out of their chair were on the dancefloor. More than one man said the band must be good for me to dance. Friends went to another wedding the following night and called to say nothing could compare to our band. People are still raving about the band.

We are SO happy that we chose Current Affair to be our band for our Wedding. If Current Affair Music is available on your date....BOOK THEM!!! They were absolutely incredible at my wedding. Their level of musicianship across every instrument, the depth of variety of music genres and their flexibility in delivering exactly what we were asking for, gave a profoundly satisfying and delicious experience. I cannot highlight enough how impressive this group was. My guests still compliment me to this day on my choice of band and how they simply amazed.

Music is so important to my life. I am a musician, my husband is a musician--we met in a band, and many of my band members were present for wedding, plus we were married in a preeminent music venue in Philadelphia. Needless to say, the band had to be incredible!!!! Believe me when I say they met our every expectation. They skillfully followed the pace of the wedding, able to excite and enliven the crowd and moments later slip into a beautiful ballad inspiring the crowd to hold up table candles during dinner and sway to the music. One of the female singers gave a beautiful interpretation of an Adele song that brought tears to many (and I still hear compliments about her!!). And the dancing!! My guests were enjoying themselves so much, they had to be corralled to sit down for the different courses of dinner--so memorable! And all was accomplished without the cheesiness that sometimes accompanies these events and groups and with an expertise and professionalism that was truly remarkable.

I will be forever grateful to this group for the most incredible experience. Thank you Current Affair Music for creating the soundtrack and the ambiance that made my wedding so beautiful and memorable!

We recently had Current Affair perform at our wedding. I really wish that I had another party to throw just so I could hire Current Affair again. I cannot put into words how absolutely AMAZING they were! First off John Napolitano who heads up the band is just an absolutely great guy. He is super wonderful to work with: kind, polite, responsive and very professional. My husband and I are both entertaining clients and were very selective as we went through the wedding planning process. I thought we did a great job overall. Even so, the thing that stood out to everyone was the band. People were literally on the floor all night long. Since the wedding, I constantly have people asking where I found them and for their contact information.

This band just knows what they are doing! They asked for songs and some guidance from us initially. They played our songs flawlessly but then did such an awesome job of reading the crowd to determine what would resonate. To give you a few other examples, my husband and I had a choreographed dance that included turns, lifts and lifts, We were so nervous that it wouldn't work without the original recording. They never missed a beat- it was unbelievable! During the best man speech, it was mentioned that my husband loves karaoke. John picked up on it and got him singing with the band by the end of the night. It was so perfect!

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about these guys. Hiring them will be the best decision you make for your wedding!!!

Hiring Current Affair Music for our wedding was absolutely the BEST decision we made. John was an absolute PLEASURE to work with. He was patient, very professional, and extremely responsive. Leading up to the wedding we felt very comfortable and knew we were in great hands. At the wedding, everything they touched was absolute perfection. Not only did we hire the band for the reception but we hired strings for the ceremony as well as a jazz trio for the cocktail hour. The music throughout the wedding was awesome. They played all of our favorite songs (including lots of Billy Joel and even learning a song 2 days before the wedding that we decided we wanted to hear) but also took the lead and knew just how to get everyone on the dance floor. Our guests danced all night and raved endlessly about the band. We had the best night of our life and it was in large part to the great music played and the atmosphere created by Current Affair Music. In particular, our first dance was incredibly important to us and they totally nailed the song and allowed us to be fully immersed in the moment. We cannot say enough good things about Current Affair Music and John Napolitano. We are eagerly awaiting the next event we can hire them for! You cannot go wrong by hiring this band.

Perfect!!!!! These guys are the most talented group of musicians you would ever find in this industry. We got married over 6 weeks ago, and all 150 guests are still complementing the band and in awe of their sound. The dance floor was PACKED All night, and they were able to meet our needs of each and every song we wanted to hear. We couldn't be happier, and can't wait to see them again at one of our friend's weddings!

We experienced Current Affair at my cousin's wedding, and all I can remember of that night was that I didn't stop dancing. We knew when we got engaged that we needed to have them at our wedding as well, and we are beyond pleased with their performance. John is so easy to work with and quick with responses, and the band is just phenomenal. All night long all (and all day the next day) people raved about how amazing they were, and how much fun they had dancing. They were able to play a wide variety of genres and every song sounded like the original (or better!). Even the staff at our wedding told us they had never had more fun working and that they had all been dancing in the kitchen the whole night. Our wedding was an absolute blast, I could not recommend this band more, they are wonderful!

John and crew are amazing. I rushed to secure them without hesitation after setting a date, as they left such am impression on my from a wedding I attended five years ago. They are a first rate band. When they play a song it sounds like the song and not a band trying to sound like the record. When you are dealing with many vendors as you plan a wedding you thank God for someone like John Napolitano who communicates with you whenever you need to. Everyone was up dancing through the wedding and our guests cannot stop talking about them and how fantastic they were. They really made the wedding spectacular. Not only did John and Current Affair provide the music for the reception but he made like easier for us by providing great music for the Ceremony and cocktails part as well. Everyone that was at the wedding wants to do it again just so they can hear them.

I can't say enough about this incredible band! They just performed for me a the Waldorf Astoria this past weekend and kept the party going all night. Everyone was dancing, all ages, and their range of songs is incredible. If you are looking for a fun, talented, reliable, and easy to work with band, I highly recommend them, they will make your night one to remember!

I was referred to John and his band, Current Affair by my cousin who attended a wedding which they played. Not having heard them myself, I was a little skeptical at first, even upon our meeting with John when he assured me that they can play almost any song which is requested, I was doubtful a live band would be able to reproduce exactly and play certain songs (some EDM songs) which were in our songlist. Boy, was I ever wrong!!
Current Affair Music is probably the best live band I have ever had the pleasure of hearing. This sentiment was expressed not only by me, but by plenty of my guests as well. My fiance and I are so glad we went with Current Affair Music over a DJ or any other band. The richness of the instruments and vocals of a live band made our reception even more special and elegant. They made our wedding even more special. His singers hit every note perfectly, at times I thought I was listening to the actual artist! I will definitely be recommending John and his band to any of my friends who are planning a wedding.

The entire band was amazing and they were a huge hit with the whole crowd! I cannot overstate how pleased we were with their performance and dealing with them leading up to the reception. We would very strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a talented band with a broad range of songs in their catalog.

We opted for the 9 piece ensemble for the evening and it was worth every penny for what the horns brought to the table.

Their performance of "The Prayer" was incredible, more eyes on the lead vocals than the mother/groom dance going on!

After seeing A Current Affair play in 2007, I knew immediately that when the time came I would want them at my wedding. With such a strong first impression, I had very high expectations for A Current Affair and John and the band did not disappoint! They personalized our ceremony music by using classic string instruments to play our favorite modern songs. The jazz trio at the cocktail hour created a sophisticated atmosphere and most importantly the 12-piece band at the reception rocked the house!! Our wedding was an incredible, non-stop party, and months later our guests still can't stop talking about our amazing band. Throughout the entire evening the musical entertainment was of the highest caliber in sound, performance quality, and repertoire. Simply put--they are the best!

I do not even know where to begin with the AMAZINGLY GOOD things I want to say about this band. We hired Current Affair based solely on a recommendation by selective list provided by our reception venue. We listened to their music on their website, I emailed John (the first of many friendly, responsive emails), and that was it. Done. Hiring Current Affair was by far one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding day. I am not lying when I tell you I have seen facebook comments saying "We heard your band downstairs (there was another wedding at our venue on the same night) and we came upstairs just o hear them!" John Napolitano is the essence of class, and did everything my fiance and I asked. I remember saying to John that all we wanted was for our guests to dance the night away. Let me tell you...he did not disapoint. Our guests danced the night away and are still asking about "the band at your wedding!" There are several reasons I would love to replay our wedding day, but one of the top reasons is so that I can hear John and this band play again. They are that good. If you are getting married, I PROMISE you that choosing Current Affair will be one of the BEST decisions of your life.

Unbelievable band. They rehearsed and played our wedding song with only a few days notice! To this day, I can't stop hearing how amazing they were! I have seen them play at events and having them be part of the day was great. I highly recommend that you snatch them for your wedding and/or event!

This people are ridiculously talented! If you want a high quality band for your wedding, then you have to get these guys. They will learn anything you want and stick to the genres and playlist you want. I had the 9 piece band for my wedding and it sounded awesome. Every one of my guests could not stop raving about them. They have an amazing variety of genres and songs to play, so no one will be left disappointed. Would book them again in a second. Worth every cent!!!!

Current Affair was amazing. My sister had heard them at a wedding and said they were terrific - and she was right! They really helped make the celebration so much fun - the dance floor was packed the entire night and my guests were raving about the band. I highly highly recommend them!!

Amazing band, absurdly talented!! Played all night long, a tremendous variety. We danced the night away! There wasn't a person at the wedding that didn't love the band. John, the bandleader and his bandmates are incredible!!

Planning a wedding can be a long and difficult series of decisions, but picking your band should not be one of them. Current Affair performed at our wedding and delivered everything you could want from a band and more.

From our first meeting with John Napolitano we knew we were in exceptional hands and instantly felt that he cared deeply about not only the success of our wedding but our happiness and comfort with each decision. From picking music for the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and of course the reception, he helped steer us in the right direction and was always very responsive and accommodating. He knew exactly what to do to make sure that his band delivered a performance that was perfectly tailored for our wedding. From the talented ensemble, to the broad range of musical styles, to specifically requested songs - Current Affair hit every note!

John truly has an amazing eye for talent and assembled a roster of musicians that was able to perform an incredible mix of songs that kept guests of all ages and generations on the dance floor until 1am! Guests were blown away by the range and quality of the performance and we are still hearing rave reviews about Current Affair. Their energy, talent, and how seamlessly they fed off of the crowd and always knew exactly what to play next really set them apart from other bands we have seen. Current Affair did not just perform at our wedding they were truly part of our wedding and we cannot thank John and Current Affair enough!

WOW. I can't say enough great stuff about this band. They were AMAZING every step of the way! I found them randomly at an expo, when I walked in two minutes after they'd stopped playing. I was so bummed I'd missed them, but I got chatting with them and they were all SO nice. I booked an appointment to meet with John and discuss their repertoire and hear some samples. He emailed me a bunch of samples, and nearly everybody I played them for said, "Why is he sending you the original songs?" Nope--that was Current Affair covering a bunch of different styles--and for each song, they truly sounded like the original artist. When my parents and I met with John, he was so nice and friendly, and I knew he'd be great to work with. He didn't disappoint. He was so accommodating, making sure the band learned every song we requested if they didn't know it already. The day of our wedding, they got RAVES--everybody loved them. The dance floor was packed the entire night, dancing to a range of genres that kept everybody wanting to move. I'm still getting compliments on my band to this day! Their price is comparable to other bands I spoke with (who frankly weren't as good, in my opinion). I recommend them most highly! You WILL NOT be disappointed!

The Current Affair Band is EXCELLENT!!! My family and friends could not stop raving all night about how good they were. Everyone was up dancing all night long. Hire them if you want to have a good time.

I have volunteered at charity events that Current Affair has played at for the last 8 years and they have always been AMAZING! This is how I came across them initially - and I knew from the moment I was engaged that I wanted them as the band at my wedding. They are extremely wonderful and easy to work with, they are an amazing band - fantastic vocals and instrumentals!!! I was so confident in using them as my wedding band, that the only requests I gave to them were the Father/Daughter, Mother/Son dances and of course our wedding song - which they weren't familiar with but they learned and rocked it!!! I highly recommend Current Affair across the board! I have received over 100 compliments on our band - everyone had the time of their lives and a lot of it was due to the amazing music all night!

I had been to two weddings where Current Affair played and knew I wanted them to play at my wedding. They are a talented & fun band that can play music from all genres really well. Having good music was really important to my husband and I to keep the energy going. We definitely made the right choice because the dance floor was packed the whole night. We heard many comments after the wedding about how incredible the band was. We also really loved the acoustic guitar for our ceremony - beautiful and classy. The only negative was that the response time to calls and emails was not very quick. Ultimately, everything worked out well.

As a newlywed with our wedding about a month ago, I can not say enough amazing things about Current Affair as our band for the big day! With my dad and many in attendance that are currently musicians, we really did not want a "typical" boring, chicken dance playing wedding band for our reception. Current Affair was anything but.

Our music tastes are anything but ordinary, and we send Current Affair a song suggestion list (in addition to their song list) that was at least two pages long. Current Affair accommodated so many of our songs... we were awesomely surprised! From Zeppelin to Lady Gaga and everything in between, we loved every song they played... And so did our guests! With guests in their 80's to college age kids, people were on the dance floor for every song. From oldies to top 40, the song flow was perfect and they learned so much for us! All of our guests said it was the best music they have heard at a wedding and asked for the Current Affairs info.

As past bride who strives for perfection, Current Affair was the icing on our cake! I can not praise this band enough... they are flexible, friendly and truly talented. Oh, and they traveled about 4 hours from their hometown to play our reception. Thank you Current Affair for making our day perfect! I would hire them for a big event anytime!

I may have taken for granted how good they were. We went to see them perform at another event to check them out and I thought, "Sure, they sound good, they do some good covers." They played about 3-4 songs for pre- and post-ceremony that were done beautifully and the full band during the reception played a great mix and variety of music (60s, 70s, 80s) and had people dancing the whole night. When I see friends who attended the wedding, even months later, one of the first things they bring up was just how good the band was. The final song brought the house down and friends remark how they barely left the dance floor. They know exactly what they're doing.

Fall 2016 Wedding

Customer Buyer Beware!

When contracting with Current Affair our expectations & confidence were very high based on prior experiences as a guest & a direct client (a 2nd daughter’s wedding).

This bad experience stemmed from the fact we were never informed that the band’s leader, John, would not be in attendance. Also there were 3 other musician changes – drummer, lead guitar & 2nd male lead vocalist (Elvis). We were made aware of these changes the day of the reception, as our guests were arriving. We were told that John does not play with the band as often anymore – he primarily books events & coordinates with the customer. Yes, we were blindsided -- especially since we had communication with John right up to the wedding. While it was also a disappointment John was not there to perform, the real problem was all our pre-event communications (run of show, song selections, entrance details) had been with John. The other band members were not adequately prepped on essential details. As a result, the Father of the Bride needed to spend time briefing John’s replacement as guests arrived & periodically during the evening.

Due to this inadequate preparedness, the “run of show” did not go as planned; including, bridal party introductions were not announced correctly, there was an uncomfortable delay in queuing up bride & groom’s 1st dance & the last four songs of the evening we not performed as planned. I am confident this would not have happened if John was onsite. And if we had known this prior, we would have had the necessary time to coordinate with his replacement.

It goes without saying that this band is extremely talented but customer service & communication are just as important in ensuring a smooth & successful event, one that is so important to a bride & their family who puts so much time & effort into planning this once in a lifetime event.
