The BEST Team for catering!

The "Feisty" Team was such a pleasure to work with. They were kind-hearted people who knew how to cook! They were exceptionally organized and prepared for my wedding day, and everyone in my wedding party loved them! We had a Sunday brunch wedding and our guests raved about the food- it was delicious! I HIGHLY recommend working with them; you won't be disappointed!!

I could not be happier with my decision to hire Culinary Delights by Feist to cater my husband’s 60th birthday party for 30 people in our home. From the beginning, John Fiest demonstrated a very professional and organized approach to his work that he elegantly coupled with a very relaxed and calming style. His pre-meeting questionnaire helped me to focus on my needs for my event. John used my answers to create a tasting based on what I asked for but then built on that by brining additional dishes and ideas to help me expand my thinking, for which I was grateful. During our initial meeting, he surveyed my home and quickly made spot-on suggestions for setting up the flow of my event. On the day of the party, John and his team swooped in and expertly set up with me not having to lift a finger. Throughout the party, they continually read the crowd and adjusted the food and set up to accommodate the needs of my guests and the flow of the party. John and his team strike that right balance of being inconspicuous while always seeming to be there right when you need them. My party was such a success that guests continued to linger past the end time. Despite that, John and his team somehow managed to clean up in stealth mode without impacting the guests leaving me with nothing to have to do. I definitely will call on Culinary Delights by Feist again for future events.

Great food, reasonably priced for the quality!

We used Culinary Delights by Feist for our reception catering. They were flexible with our catering plan and menu, with a personalized menu that we and our guests really enjoyed. John Feist (owner) and Jason (chef) came to our house to provide meal and cake tastings despite us living in Arlington, and gave us a detailed description of the items that would be offered. The menu selections were quite good and made to order, providing fresh steak tenderloin, delicious salmon, and fresh cooked vegetables for our reception. The cocktail hour menu was also well enjoyed. The servers were attentive and Jill (catering manager) worked with us closely to provide a carefully orchestrated event. We would definitely recommend them!

Where to start with Culinary Delights…wow. This small business truly goes above and beyond for their client in ways I could never expect from anyone. I felt like the most special, important bride in the world working with Chef John, Chef Jason, and the indispensable Jill. From the personalized private tastings to everything being PERFECT the day of the rehearsal dinner and the reception, my family and I are completely blown away by the level of service this company provides. It is unparalleled, and I feel so lucky to have found them for my wedding day. Chef Jason’s food was above and beyond what I could’ve wanted at my wedding. It wasn’t anywhere close to the typical wedding fare/airplane food I have had at so many weddings, it was memorable and cooked from the heart- buffet style! I honestly wasn’t sure that was even possible. The plated dinner at our reception had my friends and family eating off each other’s plates, laughing, and truly in food Heaven. Braised beef, pasta carbonara, the BEST quesadilla bread any of us could imagine…and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Jill is one-of-a-kind and the kind of person everyone hopes to have on their team. She went so far beyond her job description to make sure my wedding was everything I could dream it could be, while also taking care of my mom, my groom, and the wedding party. Every detail was so perfect. I’m so grateful to Culinary Delights and if you are thinking about contacting them, please don’t hesitate!

Culinary Delights by Feist was a joy to work with. The first time we spoke with Jill it was like talking to an old friend. When the chefs came for the tasting they gave us many great ideas that made the wedding extra special. Many of the guests said they thought the food was the best they had at a wedding and compared it to a fine restaurant. We were very pleased from start to finish! Thank you team Feist for helping to make our big day a great start to our life together.

From our very first tasting, we knew that the Feist team was the perfect choice for our wedding caterer. John Feist, Jason the chef, and Jill the event coordinator came over to our house, which made the tasting comfortable and personalized. Jason is a very creative chef and put together a menu that was well-received by our guests, but still very reflective of dishes that are special to our family (broccoli pizza, anyone?) He invented a signature cocktail for us that incorporated lavender and honey (our theme) which we called the Bee's Knees. My guests are still talking about the cocktail and asking for the recipe! He also provided many creative solutions to my husband's gluten allergy, which was so appreciated! You can tell immediately that John has a lot of experience with weddings and knows what is necessary for a perfect day. We really loved that the menu is flexible up to 2 weeks before the wedding. As anyone planning a wedding knows, flexibility is always an important thing. And Jill, the event coordinator, is a real treasure. She made sure that all of the details were discussed and covered and she did a fantastic job of making sure that everything worked out perfectly on the day. Not only did she make sure that everyone in the bridal party always had a glass in their hand on the wedding day, she seemed to genuinely enjoy herself too. This is a lady who loves her job and will make your day special! One of our best decisions was to have Feist cater both our rehearsal dinner and wedding dinner. If that is an option for you, I highly recommend it - it streamlines planning and set up and then you will know that both events will be perfect!

When I first met John, he came to our house and did a personal tasting! I remember he said to me "If two weeks before the wedding you wake up and decide you want sugar plums, we will make it happen!". I knew at that point, we had to hire him because he had a passion for making people's special days, exactly how they wanted it. We loved that at culinary delights by feist was also willing to take personal, favorite recipes and make them for the wedding! He and his staff were MORE than accommodating for severe allergies and food alterations, they took it extremely seriously which was more than comforting. The entire night of our wedding, people kept telling us how great the food was!! We highly recommend John and Culinary Delights by Feist as they completely met our expectations! You will have the best experience with them, and you'll never see John without a smile on his face, as he is the friendliest guy!

John, Jill & the staff of Culinary Delights are truly exceptional. From the initial inquiry, to last-minute tablecloth questions, to finalizing menus, John & Jill were very responsive to any questions that I ever had. John comes to YOU, yes, that's right, to YOU, for the tasting, at the comfort of your own house and feeds you delicious food that you pick beforehand- all you have to do is respond to his food survey. From the tasting, you can tweak the menu to your liking and John offers great suggestions. He suggested a family-style serving style (which I loved), We settled on a flank steak and a sauteed trout with lemon caper sauce. For appetizers, we had passed hors d'oeuvres - chicken satay (but John let us include my mom's Malaysian peanut sauce recipe with it!!), empanadas (apparently they were to-die-for,my husband was raving about them and I didn't get chance to eat much that day, and stuffed mushrooms (Maggiano's style.. one of my family faves). Also, John made a point to come to my husband and I during the cocktail hour and make sure we were able to eat some of the appetizers, and I wish I had eaten more of it, for some reason I thought there would be more time but the day really does go by so fast! My husband loved them and so did all the guests. The bartenders were also amazing, so nice, courteous, and efficient and we provided them with 2 signature drinks and they nailed it. John is so easy and flexible when it comes to the menu and is willing to do anything you need or want. My mom, who is very religious, insisted that all of the meat were to be Halal and John respected her wishes and made sure that all of the meat was Halal so that all the Muslim guests would be able to eat it. Wow- if that's not superior service- tell me what is!? Thank you so much John, Jill and staff for the most perfect day and night of my life! You truly are a special team.

It was an absolute joy working with John Feist and his team. Culinary Delights helped to make our wedding reception exactly what we wanted it to be. John, Jill, and the rest of the Culinary Delights team were more and did more than my (now) husband and I could ever begin to imagine. They made the planning process WAY easier than people warn you; they obviously enjoy what they do AND they are pros at it!

Jill, our coordinator, went above and beyond our expectations. She took time out of her day to help me with DIY ideas, planned the timeline and logistics of the wedding and reception, made sure everything and everyone was in place the entire time, ensured all guests were happy and comfortable, and actually made a few pre-wedding decisions for me when I wasn't sure. Beyond all of that, which is already seemingly overwhelming for any normal person, she was fun to be around!

John was an absolutely joy to work with and be around. He knows what he's doing and isn't afraid to say something won't work, which I think is critical to the planning process for something as big as a wedding! There wasn't a topic he didn't hit when we went over the menu and reception, so we all felt incredibly prepared throughout. The menu was amazing! My guests are still talking about how incredible the food was.

They were also very accommodating, as I wanted a special touch for desserts. My grandmother, mother-in-law, and my maid of honor all made something, which worked perfectly because of the flexibility of the Culinary Delights team!

I would work with this team a hundred times over - everything was beyond perfect!

In June 2017 we hosted a party at our home for about 100 friends. This party was to celebrate two graduations and a retirement. When deciding how to host our party we decided once again to use Culinary Delights. We wanted to be to enjoy our party and guests and not worry about the food, drinks and clean up. Jill Solis did an amazing job assessing our venue for setup and helped determine our needs for additional tables and chairs. Jill also worked with us to fine tune our menu and made it so that everyone could eat as they wanted throughout the party. The crews showed up early for setup and where there in multiple roles throughout the evening. The chef was great and John was there overseeing the entire event. When the evening was over the entire crew cleaned up the food and tables and everything else that needed to be done. We could not have asked for a better catering company to meet our needs for our special event. The entire staff is very professional and will work with you to develop the perfect menu and party theme. Can't wait to host another event and have Culinary Delights cater once again!

We had a fantastic experience with John and his team and we absolutely recommend them! From the beginning we could tell this was a different type of catering company than the standard 'mass produced' large company. We were really impressed by the tasting--they actually came to our apartment to cook us dinner! The food was delicious and nothing like standard wedding food. The price too was fantastic, especially considering the amount of food and in comparison to other companies. After booking them, we were so happy with our decision. John was super responsive through the entire process and willing to make changes along the way. The food at the wedding was perfect and we received so many compliments by our guests. John himself was the chef--not just some sales team they assigned us for the night--and he even came out at dinner to engage the guests and ensure everything was perfect. We can't recommend them enough!

John and his team did an amazing job catering our wedding at Torpedo Factory. They coordinated delivery of all rentals, including a rental kitchen, and were able to turn around the set up in the short load in time at the venue. The food was delicious - from our very first tasting where they came to our apartment we were blown away by how good everything was. Some standouts were the short ribs, the trout with lemon button sauce, the baked brie, and the raspberry truffles! Everyone raved about the food and John went around to each table to make sure everything was good. We even had a platter of cheese delivered to us while we were waiting before the ceremony. The cake they baked was amazing - I can't wait to eat the frozen top piece at our anniversay next year! His team was willing to work with any ideas we had to make a truely customized menu - very highly recommended!

John and Terry were absolutely amazing! Our guests raved about the food at our wedding (and still do- a year later!). Their pricing was unbeatable, and their service was wonderful! Delicious, flexible, and friendly! These are the reasons we chose Feist above many other proposals we received for our wedding at the Briar Patch, and throughout the planning and the wedding, these elements were key to an incomparable catering experience.

We were seeking a local caterer that could use local, sustainable, and seasonal ingredients for delicious food, and that could easily accommodate vegetarians and special diets. Fortunately, Feist is incredibly flexible and friendly to special diets, and the chefs they use take special care to ensure that these meals are of the same caliber as the standard diets. They were the only proposal we received that offered a family-style meal (featuring a meat, a fish, and a vegetarian entrée plus yummy sides), which appealed to us because our guests would neither have to pick an entrée weeks in advance nor wait in line for a buffet. When we learned that they also do award-winning desserts, that sealed the deal!

They are also eager to incorporate any special foods that you want to incorporate. When I mentioned that I loved berries and wanted to make berries prominent in our menu (this is August, and we were using a berry-inspired color palette), they came up with creative ways to incorporate them – in our cocktail hour (sangria made with blackberry brandy), in our cheese platter, and in our desserts (our cake was a berry genoise cake), not to mention their signature award-winning raspberry truffle which we used as a wedding favor!

Other special touches that make working with these guys a pleasure: they only do one event per night, so you know you are working with their best; the tastings are free (we had one with my parents for the reception dinner and one with the groom’s parents for the rehearsal dinner); they don’t penalize you if you are under your estimated guest count (which we were!); you can make any changes up until two weeks before the event.

We truly cannot find the words to express how happy and thankful we are to have chosen John Feist and his team for our wedding! The food, service, team, planning process, logistics, recommendations: all INCREDIBLE! John is one of the friendliest guys in the business and he was willing to customize a menu for us to match our personal likes and family traditions. John, Jason, and Terry came to our house and blew us away with our first tasting. They were so patient and kind while we tried to decide on the many details of our day. They were extremely helpful in making recommendations and offering professional insight. And the food – WOW! During our month-out meeting, John and his team made us feel confident that our day would be the perfect reflection of our vision. They talked through every detail and answered our entire list of questions before we even had the chance to ask them. They work so wonderfully with other vendors and are a joy to interact with. When wedding time came, the team met with us the day before to talk through final details and worked tirelessly to make our vision come to life - they did whatever it took to make it happen! During our wedding, the staff was PHENOMENAL! Countless guests and family members gave praise over the food, service, and friendly staff. They couldn’t stop raving about it! At one point, there was a spill on the dance floor and John himself came out and cleaned it up by dancing with rags on his feet! I don’t know of any other owners that would do that, and in such a fun way! At the end of the night, the staff quickly cleaned up and packed everything nicely for us in our van while we continued the party. We could go on and on about how wonderful John Feist and his entire team are –if you are looking for unbeatable food, impeccable service, and a whole lot of fun and friendly interactions –they are your team! They never once dropped the ball and thanks to them we were able to ENJOY every minute of our wedding day without one worry!

I was the wedding coordinator for a friend's wedding, and the couple had already chosen John and his team as their caterers for their big day. Let me just say.....they made the right choice! From the first time I met with John, I knew he was going to be great to work with. In the days and weeks leading up to the wedding, he was very responsive to all my emails and questions (and there were a lot!). He made a special trip to the bride's parents' house the day before the wedding to drop off a cheese platter for the next day (the wedding party was getting ready there). John and his team arrived on time to the reception venue and got right to work. Sam, the supervisor, was polite, helpful, and all around amazing! The rest of the staff was amazing too....hard working, nice, polite and very helpful. Another reason that John and his team were so great.....the bride had actually only paid for 4 vendor meals, but John gave me and the woman who was in charge of the reception site a plate of food as well. The food was AMAZING!!! At the end of the night, the staff not only cleaned up their items, but they helped load decorations and other wedding items in a guest's car for them! On a side note....2 of the staff members were observing Ramadan, so they were fasting and could not eat or drink all day long....and it was HOT that day. But they never complained once. John and his whole team were simply wonderful, and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer. You won't be disappointed!

Culinary Delights by Feist did a fantastic job catering my wedding. My husband and I didn't want traditional wedding food, and Culinary Delights by Feist delivered. Not only were John and his team flexible regarding dietary restrictions, they helped us come up with a great menu. The make your own fajita and burger bars were a huge hit with our guests - the quality of the food was AMAZING. John and his team were willing and excited to incorporate food items prepared by family members (my family made a ton of pies to serve, and also provided some unique cheese options for cocktail hour). John's staff was very professional and accommodating. His staff always made sure the bride and groom had drinks in their hands and food in their bellies (thanks you!). Our guests also commented on the great service - there didn't appear to be any lines at the bars and his staff was very quick to respond to any problems.

We had a somewhat last minute problem with our original venue, and John helped us find a new venue within a week. I would definitely recommend using Culinary Delights by Feist. Great food, great service, and great flexibility.

My wife and I loved working with Culinary Delights by Feist! They perfected our vision for the food at our wedding. We couldn't have asked for a better caterer. The service at the reception was top notch, we were always looked after and they made sure we had something to eat (which is always a challenge for the couple at a wedding). Mr. Feist has been in the catering business for quite a while, and he really knows his stuff! He and his staff catered our wedding on 10/3/15 and everything turned out exceptional. Since Mr. Feist has catered many weddings at our venue, Murray Hill, he helped us make decisions on layout, setting up chairs, timing etc., and was able to give us advice on what would work best and what wouldn’t. Even with the torrential rain leading to our wedding, he accommodated every last minute change and made sure everything ran smoothly. On top of the helpful planning, everyone was so complimentary of the food he served. From the appetizers to the family-style dinner and even the beautiful red velvet cake he made, everything was delicious and left our guests asking me for the name of our caterer. With Mr. Feist’s experience, his amazing food, and hard working staff, you can’t go wrong choosing Culinary Delights by Feist!

We engaged John Feist for our daughter's recent wedding in Northern VIrginia, and I truly cannot say enough about the superb level of service. It was challenging, because we were planning from across the country. From the start, John was accessible, willing and able to talk and make suggestions, was flexible and very respectful of our budget, and even came in person to our daughter's 4th floor walk-up apartment to cook and do the sample tasting. As the day grew closer, we had the usual ups and downs with number of guests, last minute changes for seating etc., and he patiently and kindly accommodated all.
We also engaged John as the point man/day-of-coordinator, and he provided exceptional service in this capacity as well, at the rehearsal, incredible, calm and reassuring service on the big day, thinking of and providing for all the details, taking great care of the family and wedding party, and ensured that the ceremony and subsequent reception events went perfectly. The tables were lovely. His staff was personable, efficient, and responsive to all our guests' needs.
The food was amazing, delicious, beautifully presented (both cocktail time and meal), and served with care and efficiency. We are still receiving raves from guests about how beautiful and delicious everything was! The cake - red velvet - was beautiful, and actually so yummy people asked for more, along with a variety of small Italian pastries.
In short, planning, food, value, and especially service, we would give 10 stars if we could. The day was more wonderful than we dreamed, and I credit John Feist.

Culinary Delights by Feist provided catering services for our daughter's wedding at Sunset Crest Manor on October 23, 2015. We found John Feist and his team to be professional, attentive, and responsive to our every need. In short – an absolute pleasure to work with.

Initially, John and his chef met with my daughter and now son-in-law well in advance of the wedding date to sample different menu offerings, and then assisted in designing the final menu. On the wedding day, the quality and the presentation of the food served by John’s staff, including appetizers, entrees, desserts and the wedding cake, were unsurpassed.

John also provided coordination services for our daughter’s wedding. We, as complete novices in the wedding planning process, found John's calm demeanor and firm direction during the rehearsal to be comforting. We can't say enough good things about Chef John Feist and his team at Culinary Delights by Feist (including Chef Jason), who catered our daughter’s wedding of 160 guests in June. John was so accommodating in setting the time and place for our tastings (more than one) and the food he served was so delicious that we were excited to have leftovers. John helped us refine our menu, and was even willing to create a new appetizer at our request from a vegetarian entrée that he prepared at our tasting! John suggested family style service when we said we wanted the flow of food service to move quickly during our wedding reception. He was right - the service was superb. Many of our guests commented to us that they very much enjoyed the food; we also loved the 2 flavor wedding cake that John and his team provided. John went above and beyond on the day of the wedding – bringing a plate of appetizers to us when the cocktail portion of the reception wound down to make sure we got a chance to taste the delicious food amidst the wedding festivities. The food and service provided by John's team were key ingredients in making the wedding a magical experience--thank you Culinary Delights by Feist, for all of your hard work and your high-quality catering!

John Feist and his team are stellar. If they opened up a restaurant, I would be right there at the ribbon cutting ceremony. They catered our wedding at Sunset Creat Manor, and they did so much more than cater. They provided planning support and day-of coordination support, working independently with the Venue to make sure everything turned out just right. The staff was so fun and helpful: Rachel regularly brought me (the bride) small plates of food, and made sure that I could try all of the dishes that we created. So, if you're booked at Sunset Crest Manor and have any doubts, stop reading this right now and email John to book them immediately! Then come back to read the rest of this review.

Here's a couple things I learned: 1) Choose the baked brie. My god I am still dreaming of that baked brie. 2) Ask them to provide pear pancetta crisps. It was a recipe I found on Pinterest, and my guests have been RAVING about it ever since. 3) Go for the sweets buffet with the truffles. Make sure you eat a truffle before your guests devour them ALL. 4) Serve your dinner family style. This was John's idea. Because my husband and I are such foodies, we had truly innovative nouveau-American style dishes. Of course our guests loved sharing and having a bit of everything. 5) Mushroom risotto and beef brisket. So good. Queue the salivation. 6) We had 5, that's FIVE signature cocktails. Again, as foodies, our craft cocktails are very important. The bartender team nailed 'em all: Margarita, Moscow Mule, Pimm's Cup, and a few of our own creations. 7) Always thank the staff. they gave us a souvenir memento from the photo booth, and wrapped up all the food to go!

Seriously, if you want a truly satisfying meal that's served with heart, a smile, and crazy chef-pants, go with Culinary Delights by Feist! Love you guys so much!

John and his team were amazing! They were very attentive to the needs of the bride and groom as well as the wedding party. They brought trays of food while the wedding parties were preparing for the wedding. They brought appetizers to the bride and groom following the post ceremony pictures. John even found me (the mother of the bride) as I entered from the post ceremony pictures and brought me a plate of appetizers and a drink. He even went to the kitchen and made me sugarless tea when he realized I preferred it. The food was served in a timely fashion and tasted delicious. Everyone was asking how we had found our caterer and was raving about both the food and the service. John worked within our budget and made the day a smooth and enjoyable one! I highly recommend him and his team. If you choose John, you will be free to enjoy the day knowing he will take care of every detail.

I'm not getting married until October 3, 2015, so this review is based on my interactions with Culinary Delights by Fiest from a planning perspective.

John Fiest and his business partner/chef, Jason Purdy, are a pleasure to work with. They provide personalized service every step of the way. First, they design a menu based on your responses from a detailed inquiry sheet, and then provide a tasting in your home! This not only gives you an opportunity to taste the food, but perhaps more importantly, gives you a chance to get to know them, and as a result, trust them. Their customer service is top-notch, and I'm confident that will continue through our wedding day!

As for the food...it's SO good. I've been to almost 40 weddings and there's only been a few weddings where I actually enjoyed the food. Our wedding will fall into this selective category. John and Jason put so much passion into what they serve: they source from local farms, use seasonal ingredients, and ensure the presentation of the meal is creative and unique. What's more, is that they're will to work with you to give you the menu you always imagined, so it's not a cookie-cutter menu, it's what you truly want served on your special day.

I will post another review of Culinary Delights by Fiest after my wedding, but so far my experience with John and Jason has been excellent. I highly recommend them!

We cannot say enough good things about the amazing food and service that we received from Culinary Delights by Feist. We worked with Chef John and Jason to customize our menu, and Chef John and Terry were on site for the day of our wedding.

In the planning process, John was so unbelievably helpful and responsive. He and Jason came to my parents' house for a private tasting, where they answered all of our questions and worked with us to create our DREAM menu. After the tasting we were in contact via email, and he was so responsive and flexible. I never expected to receive so much personal attention from the owner and head chef. We were blown away by the level of service we received.

On the wedding day, John and Terry made sure that we got to try all the food we had picked out. They brought us cheese platters to the suites where we were getting ready, they brought us drinks and plates of food from the cocktail hour while we were taking family portraits, and they made sure we were the first to eat dinner.

On top of the amazing service we received from John and his team, their food is also unbelievable. Everything on their menu has been carefully created and prepared, and it really shows. Our guests still talk about how amazing all of the food was, especially all the passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour (favorites were empanadas and the baked brie). All the desserts are amazing too!

We had an amazing experience working with Culinary Delights by Feist, we can't recommend them highly enough!!

John Feist and his team did a fabulous job with our wedding, from the delicious food to our beautiful cake to getting exactly the table cloths etc. we wanted and helping with setting up decor on the day of. The appetizers in cocktail hour were a hit (my favorite was the tostones, as we had a latin theme to our dinner) and they were a huge help with our signature drinks and had a great bar tender who really kept the party going :). The delicious raspberry truffle favors they assembled for us were lovely and also looked beautiful on the tables.

We and all our guests loved the family style option that we ended up deciding on. The chicken was delicious--we attended a tasting reception that they held at another venue when deciding and then held a personalized tasting--both were equally wonderful and made us confident in our decision to choose Culinary delights by Feist. Their service was very personalized and helpful as we got to the week of the wedding, and they were very flexible with adjusting the number of guests when we ended up a bit smaller than expected.

Finally--all of the staff worked wonderfully with our DJ and photographer to really create a seamless experience the whole night for us. We got to be guests at our party rather than doing any organizing, and it was truly a pleasure to work with them.

We are so happy we chose John as our caterer! He and Jason (his head chef I think) came to our house for a tasting, and we knew right away they were the right choice for our wedding. They have absolutely fantastic appetizers; the baked brie is unbelievable! Many of our guests complimented us on the food (we highly recommend his banana-wrapped salmon!) and he was an absolute pleasure to work with. Also very reasonably priced, compared with some of the larger catering companies we found. John, thank you and your team for helping us make our wedding night one that we will always remember :)

Culinary Delights by Feist did a fabulous job as the caterer for our daughter's wedding. Their excellent checklist was very thorough; it was tremendously helpful in defining the style of the meal and the menu. Our daughter lives on the west coast and made just a few trips home to plan the wedding. John Feist and his team were very accommodating in setting up a special tasting to fit her travel plans. They were very patient as we made some changes to the menu. When we found just the right color of blue tablecloths at a different rental company, they went the extra mile and got them for us. But best of all the food was delicious and the service excellent. One of our guests who is not known to praise easily remarked that with hors d'ouvres as delicious as these, who needs dinner. Quite a compliment. And dinner and dessert were just as tasty as the appetizers. I highly recommend them.

John and his team are a delight to work with! They were always on time and during the planning process, they were very responsive when we reached out. He provided feedback on my floor plan and any other questions I asked him. The level of service is outstanding! John was flexible with my requests. When we arrived to our reception, he had cheese and hor'dourves waiting for us in our suite. Throughout the wedding he checked-in on us multiple times to make sure we were happy. My vendors said he was great to work with or they already knew him and were excited to work with him again.

The food is delicious and we had multiple guests tell us how great it was. We were able to customize our menu to represent ourselfs. At other caterers, anything that wasn't on their pre-set list would cost extra. With John, it was the opposite, he wanted it to be unique and not be the same ol' wedding menu. I told him some of our favorite food items and he made them! PS. try his truffles....they are to die for!

Culinary Delights by Feist was everything we wanted in our caterer and more! They were professional, provided a great service, and made delicious food, all while going the extra mile for us. I am happy to recommend Culinary Delights for your wedding and I will be using them for future events!

Culinary Delights by Feist is a truly wonderful catering company. The talented Chef John is so kind, and all of his team, from Terry to everyone else, just make you feel happy to be doing business with them. The food, oh my, the food!

The menu is completely customizable, and he offers you a wide range of options. Feist also catered our rehearsal dinner, and we loved everything served there, too. My favorites: his potato salad, the bruschette display and the brie with fruit in pastry and caramel, the butternut squash, the fish, and his desserts! We were so impressed by all the wonderful desserts he makes when we met him for a tasting that we knew we had to look no further for our wedding cake. We chose to make cake pops and chocolate truffles our favors, and I have never tasted better cake than what was in those cake pops.

John was always the best at responding to me, answering all my questions thouroughly and quickly. I have already recommended his catering company to others, it's wonderful food prepared and served by wonderful people with sincere kindness.

Wonderful catering company! John Feist and his team were so accommodating to me and my husband. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. My daughter's wedding reception on Nov. 17th was catered by Culinary Delights by Feist and I highly recommend them for any occasion. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and the staff was extremely friendly and professional. I absolutely loved working with John Feist. His prices were much more affordable than other caterers in the Washington, D.C. area, and the food he prepared for us was DELICIOUS. I got so many compliments at our reception. One guest sought me out to say "I've been to a lot of receptions -- and this is the best reception food I've ever had." John was very responsive; I could e-mail or call him anytime, and I always received answers quickly. He also made an effort to be creative with our menu -- he asked us about ingredients we like or food that is special to us. I lived in France for a semester and love all things French, so he suggested we do a crepe bar for dessert (which was a big hit). We decided two weeks before the wedding that we were going to use peaches in a lot of our table decorations, so John and another chef created a salad with peaches in it. The Culinary Delights staff was extremely considerate on the day of the wedding -- there was a cheese platter in my dressing room, and at the reception, the Maitre d' walked the groom and me through the food line first to make sure we got a chance to eat. Culinary Delights by Feist really went above and beyond to make us happy. I recommend them enthusiastically.

Prior to choosing John Feist as our caterer, we met and had discussions with a large number of catering companies. If you are searching for a caterer and are trying to be creative, I am sure I don’t have to tell you about the dead ends you are going to run in to. So many caterers have reduced the catering process to a dull formulaic “Pick 1 from column A and 1 from Column B” with minimal boring choices. Not John! We came to him with an idea that everyone else had shot down right out of the gate in trying a German food theme. John’s response immediately set him apart as he responded with idea after idea that ended up being fantastic. He ended up doing all of our food…including our cake and several other German style desserts which were all high end restaurant quality. Despite all of this, John was unbelievably reasonable for what you get. From the planning stages to execution on the day of, he was a true professional who obviously loves what he does. Even his staff reflects his attention to detail and friendly nature (none of which we had met prior to the event so we were pleasantly surprised). If you want to have an event with some outside the box food choices, go with John and you will be happy you did. With John you are hiring a true chef that has a love for what he does and it shows. How many weddings have you been to where EVERYONE you talk to later talks about the food first? That happened for us, and it still blows me away. Thank you John! You really made our wedding day a memorable one and one that uniquely represented our tastes!

If I have one regret from my wedding, it would be not having eaten more of the completely amazing food provided by John Feist and Culinary Delights!!
John worked with us from day on creating a menu that wonderfully suited our personalities. When I asked for 'fancy' comfort food, John delivered with amazing sliders, the best mac and cheese I've ever had, a mashed potato bar to die for and other delicious treats!!
In addition to all of that, John also runs one of the most amazing bakeries around. My sister used him for my bridal shower cake and he was able to put a picture of my husband and I on top! For the wedding, we opted for cupcakes. Not only were they tasty, John's staff arranged them in a beautiful, eye-catching display. Every time I see a picture of our cupcake towers, my mouth waters!!
Lastly, John has started working with some party rental companies, so I told him what I needed and if it was something he didn't have on hand (i.e. watermelon pink napkins) he contracted out the service, which saved me some stress!!

John and his staff were amazing as always. They exceeded our expectations on all of our requests and oh there were many given the blending of Polish and American wedding traditions. They created an amazing Italian buffet that everyone raved about. My personal favorite was the chicken parm and of course the brie from the cocktail party. His prices can't be beat and you do not sacrifice an ounce of taste or service. If you want amazing food and great service the John's team is the way to go. Don't forget to ask for the brie!!!!!!

John Feist is fabulous!! His staff is also great, kind, and so professional. We loved everything John did. I knew that he was above the other caterers we interviewed when he offered to come to our house and cater dinner for my mom, fiance and I as our food tasting instead of making us come to his catering shop like most caterers do. Then his food was wonderful, he totally understood the theme and style of food we were looking for and delivered everything as described. Our guests raved about the food, and how even though they cooked steak for 150 people, it was still tender and moist, not dry and overcooked.

John was willing to meet with me and my wedding planning crew on several occasions to discuss tweaks and little concerns that we had.

He and his staff also made sure that the bridal party didn't go hungry. First, delivering snack trays of cheese, crackers, and fruit to both dressing rooms for the bridal and groomsmen parties. Then while the guests were at the cocktail hour, the staff made sure that they came by where the bridal party was taking pictures and got us a few bites of appetizers. And then at the end of the night, they wrapped up leftover cake and desserts for our guests to grab as they were leaving.

And the entire staff was great and flexible with the rain and having to move the ceremony inside.

Would highly recommend John Feist and Culinary Delights! Honestly we didn't have to think twice about who we wanted to cater our wedding after he did the taste testing at our house! He brought everything for us to try and even allowed my mom to be there as well! His food was incredible! He worked with us over the months to finalize our menu and was very accomodating to any changes or questions we ever had. The food on the day of the wedding was amazing, and guests are still talking about it! Culinary Delights also caters to the bride and groom and if you are getting ready at the venue, they will bring drinks up ahead of time with some cheese and crackers, which really helped the day of! Also, they provided us with some food to take home, which was great the next day! I couldn't have asked for a better caterer on our wedding day! We were very impressed, and so impressed that I have recommended them to several other brides!

We (and our guests) loved the food at our wedding (07.10.11).
John was most helpful in suggestions about the different foods we could choose. When we had our tasting,we wanted MORE! as the food was soo good!!!
John and his crew were very efficient and made us feel quite special!(I have never had anyone take so much special care for me before, they did everything for me,asked me what I wanted and held my plate for me), I was treated like a Princess.

Two Thumbs up to John Feist and his staff for his absolutely perfect catering of my daughter's wedding! Our guests have been calling me for two days with comments such as "best wedding food I've ever had" and "the meal was excellent - and everything was beautiful". John was fun and professional to work with and made the whole experience a great one. Since my daughter lives out of town, this was incredibly important. John worked diligently with her to develop her perfect menu and incorporated all the small details important to her and her future husband. Last Saturday John and Culinary Delights provided the best wedding food I've ever had at a reception. John was by far our favorite vendor as he travelled to our house and provided a free food sampling. Last minute we needed him to provide a small wedding cake and he came through with a beautifully decorated cake that was delicious. Our emails over the months were professional, yet laid back and drama free. He was the only vendor that was confident with everything he was providing and they handled 160+ guests without any issues.

The day of our wedding we were greeted by a waitor in a tuxedo offering us plates of food and requesting our drink order. While waiting for guests to move to the seated area Emily and I waited inside where we were given more plates of food followed by bacon wrapped scallops(these are a must) and other selected food.

Their staff even took part in helping out with a skit during one of the toasts. We had an amazing time and there is no reason not to try a sample of their amazing food to see the quality for yourself.

My wedding was Friday, October 8, 2010. It was at a new venue that Feist have not used before. They were willing to work with the venue Manager as well as provided information when we asked them for other vendors they use and know. John Feist and Ellen were very easy to talk to, very professional and they definitely cater to customer needs and requests. The private tasting they provided us were so impressive - the food was great!! Ellen definitely had extensive knowledge and experience with wedding events and also know how to provide excellent customer service to please the bride & groom. She was very reachable and provided quick answers to any questions. She was willing to meet me up on several occasions per my request to discuss wedding details. She assisted me with equipment rental and researched the information I asked for regarding the rental vendor. Another Feist staff Terri came to meet us at the final walk through. He provided amazing feedback and assistance. He suggested the buffet dinner to be at a certain place to make the guests flow during dinner smooth and easy. During the wedding, Ellen made sure the wedding party was taken care of - brought us food and drinks!! At dinner, all of the staff were pleasant and professional. John, Ellen and Terri were definitely people you want to work with - I recommend their great service and amazing food choices!!! All my guests were very happy with the quality and quantity of food they served. Delicious!!

When planning our wedding, finding an exceptional caterer was high on our list of priorities. We both really enjoy and appreciate good food, and we wanted to make sure our guests were treated to a fantastic and memorable dinner. After interviewing several caterers, John was far and away our first choice. He is extremely professional, flexible, and easy to work with, his pricing is a steal, and best of all, his cooking is DIVINE!! We loved being able to support a growing local business where we got to have the personalized attention and involvement of the master chef. With so many of the other catering companies in the area, we would have been just one of several weddings that day, and our event would have been handed off to a sous-chef. With Culinary Delights, we were the only event, and John was on site the whole time to make sure that everything was just right. He even had some fun finishing touches as a surprise for us, including freezing the vodka bottle for our signature drinks into a block of ice with wildflowers- a very cool display for the bar.

John came to our home to do a full tasting of our proposed menu, and came back to do a separate cake tasting. The sky was the limit as far as menu choices went, and we ended up with a menu that was very personalized and reflected the international elements of our wedding. He also went out of his way to satisfy our request that we use as many locally-sourced ingredients as possible. We liked him so much, we hired him to do our wedding cake and post-wedding brunch, too.

Selecting John and his team was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Even now, several months later, we are still getting compliments from guests on how much they loved the food. John's carrot cake wedding cake with cream cheese icing was to die for, and just thinking about it makes my mouth water. We've decided we will have to get him to make us one every year for our anniversary!

This catering company was the best! I couldn't have asked for better food at my wedding. The food came out so amazing, and the cake was sooooo delicious!!!!! They will work with you from beginning to end, and they can even help you out on renting stuff that you may need. I had my wedding out doors and they helped me find a tent and the works that go inside. They made my wedding day so much better knowing that I didn't have to worry about anything when it came to catering! I will be using them in the future for event's, and I will be recommending them to everyone!

From our very first meeting we were incredibly impressed with John. He did a fantastic job with the wedding and we received numerous compliments on the variety, quality and amount of food. The presentation was beautiful, the food fantastic. We did a walk through two weeks before the wedding where he took notes on every little detail we wanted (and then followed through with all of them--including have the bar tender prepare signature drinks!). He was also incredibly affordable. We got a cocktail hour with passed appetizers (and a table of appetizers), a buffet dinner (pre-set salad and bread, steak, chicken, asparagus, and rosemary potatoes), and a beautiful three tier cake for less than half of what we would have paid with other caterers (and trust me, we talked to A LOT of caterers before we found him). The food was delicious (his wedding cake frosting is the best I've ever tasted!), presentation beautiful, and he was great to work with. We couldn't have been happier!

We couldn't be happier with our choice of caterer. John Feist and his staff were excellent. They were very professional, accommodating, efficient, and pleasant. The food was great as well as the presentation!!! John ensured that everything was perfect. He personalizes as much as possible to make your occasion special. Our guests had nothing but positive comments about our reception dinner!

Without a doubt John goes the extra mile; he went out of his way unexpectedly to even drive out and provide us with a sampling! He also did everything possible to have our decorations be just as we wanted! Highly recommended.

Amazing food is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of our wedding reception. Our guests were raving about the hors d'oeuvres, the dinner and the wedding cake. John was so wonderful to work with, he has many years of experience and is an exceptional chef. His staff was well trained and efficient. Not only did he do our food, he provided all the wait staff, bar tenders, linens, glassware, silverware, china, and even our Wedding Cake which was better than any cake shop could have done. I'm sure I'm forgetting something as they literally provided everything you could need! Culinary Delights by Feist is the way to go for your wedding reception. Order the Brie--it's delicious!!!

Words can't even describe the service, quality, and experience we got by John and his crew. We hired John because of his exceptional quality in food; little did we know how amazing his service was too. John came to our house and cooked us a gourmet menu of what we had described to him we would want at our wedding. It was an incredible experience to watch him cook in front of our eyes. He set up the menu to our tastes, with some wonderful suggestions. When the big day came John was there early setting up and he even brought the bride and groom parties a brunch buffet to snack on while we got ready. From what we heard the appetizers were amazing, we did try them before the wedding, but because of wedding pics we really didn't get to enjoy them! At the wedding John brought a staff of waiters with him and they served our guest, while my wife and I got our own personal waiter who brought us whatever we wanted. This was something that we didn't request or even expect, but was a wonderful treat! We got incredible compliments from just about everyone about the food. His service and excellent food made our wedding that much better!!!!

I haven't even gotten to most our guests favorite part of John's catering, the cake! My wife found a Martha Stewart wedding cake in one of her million wedding magazines that she wanted. She emailed John back and forth and sent him a picture of the cake. He said no problem. On the wedding day we came down and saw the cake and we were just floored with how beautiful it was. The only thing that got more compliments than the cake was my beautiful bride. Not only was the cake beautiful it was damn tasty too!

John was incredible, we have no complaints what-so-ever and if you are looking for someone to make your wedding day perfect and everything you thought it could be seek out John Feist!

We loved working with John and his team. From the start, we loved how personalized our menu was to our taste. Our food at our wedding was very important to us, and the fact that they created a menu based on our personal couple taste- was fantastic. We loved how they came to our house to present the menu and taste the food. We felt that, having them transport the food and finish preparing at our house truly gave us a real feel for how the food would look and taste on our wedding. John was willing to work within our budget and was very responsive. On the day of the wedding, we had to use our rain plan- the whole team was SO flexible. The servers and bartenders were wonderful and the guests were treated excellently. All we heard from our guests was how good the food and service was! The whole event went very smoothly thanks to John's experienced team. I would highly recommend him and probably contact him for our next event!

My husband is a chef, so needless to say, food was going to be an important part of our wedding. John and his team were extremely accommodating and worked with him on selecting the menu and recipes. They came out to our house for two separate tastings to ensure that we were happy with our selections. They also met with us at the venue about a month before the wedding and helped us map out a floor plan to make the most of the space and comfortably fit all of our guests.

We were very pleased with the food at our reception and we received many complements from our guests on how great it tasted! We really enjoyed working with John and his team and would recommend them to anyone else.

Mi matrimonio fue el 28 de junio John fue la persona que escogimos para que haga el catering,la verdad john muy aparte de ser alguien super alegre el es super servicial. Yo le pedi para reunirnos antes para que yo pueda ver los materiales y colores que iba a usar ese dia. El sin ningun problema lo hizo, nos reunimos y la verdad no pude quedar mas contenta el dia de mi boda. La decoracion de las mesas fue increiblemente preciosa. La comida estuvo muy rica, y muy bien presentado, los meseros tuvieron un servicio muy bueno. La verdad yo si lo recomiendo, deberian de escoger a john por que el y su equipo es el mejor.

The food was unique and clearly home made. The empanadas were the biggest hit, followed by the brie with apples and caramel. Presentation was superb. What was suppose to be hot stayed hot and what was suppose to be cold stayed cold. The only thing that surpassed the food were the two servers. They were efficient, gracious and flexible.

When we had an initial meeting with John, we all walked away feeling confident that the job would be done and that it would be done well. We were all very impressed. His professionalism and experience was very impressive. Not to mention, the food was delicious and inventive! The cost was also very reasonable compared to other quotes we had obtained. Overall, the day of went great even though we had a couple of hiccups (but what event doesn't). I would definitely hire this service in the future and recommend it to others. Make sure to try to raspberry truffles!

I used Culinary Delights for our wedding cake. They had the best prices of anyone else we talked to. The cake itself turned out wonderfully. We had two different flavors: red velvet & marble, and both were delicious. During the actual cake tasting, John had several different flavors for us to try, and they were all great! The cake itself was decorated exactly like the picture we gave John. I highly recommend using them for your cake!

We chose Culinary Delights because of their personalized service. For our initial tasting and consultation, the chef and event manager came to our apartment to discuss our event. They love to tailor the event towards whatever you are looking for. They did not have preset menu options to choose from. Instead, they came with crowd pleasers but encouraged us to think of something more us. Jason loves finding new recipes and being creative. We very much appreciated having direct contact with the chef. The spread of hors d'oeuvres was impressive and felt entirely like us, and he does a whole dessert bar. They are willing to work with you to bring your vision and personality into the event. They provide basic linen rental (white or off white) for a much more reasonable rate than the other caterers we looked at. We felt like the money is going more towards the experience than just the service. We first contacted them when wedding season was just getting into full swing and took about a month to get a price quote from them. They are a smaller operation and only did one tasting a week so it took another couple months to schedule that, but their personalization set them apart from everyone else and could not be more excited about our event!

John was willing to do whatever we wanted in the way of making our daughter's wedding unique. We were at a venue that started out with an outside ceremony but rain forced us to move in. John's team worked quickly to switch everything. A few items we brought never made it out but I attribute that to the last minute change. The quality of the food was excellent. Our guests were delighted by the variety and taste. We chose to have made-to-order items at 3 stations and felt that for what we paid, we got excellent value. I would highly recommended John and his team for your event!

We hired Chef Fiest for our wedding reception in late October. We went to many tastings, but were most impressed with Chef Fiest as he came to our home to cook and the food was delcious. Leading up to the wedding, communication was strong for the most part. On the wedding day, the food was amazing as Chef Jason prepared the food and everyone raved about it. The coordinator was amazing and the best way to explain our wedding was perfect. Thank you to the team of Culinary Delights for adding to our amazing, special day. I would absolutely recommend them.

We had John caterer our 05/28 wedding at Rust Manor House and it was PERFECT! We did 3 made to order stations (an Asian station, a slider station w/ french fry bar, and a pasta station). We have gotten compliment after compliment on the food. Everything was set up beautifully and all the staff were efficient & courteous. John was very easy to work with and really nailed the idea/flow we wanted for the reception & cocktail hour. All in all we were very happy with Culinary Delights service and would highly recommend them.

John Feist and staff catered two events-a company holiday dinner and a surprise 50th birthday party. I am quite certain they would not have been nearly the caliber or complete successes that they were without John! He was patient and helpful from the very beginning, even putting up with my 11th hour panic attacks. His advice and expertise were essential to pulling together all the details- he got us connected with all the right people ( site, music, decorations, even Santa!). He tried to accommodate every whim and wish we toyed with, and what we didn't know or couldn't decide he took care of - beautifully and tastefully (literally and figuratively!). We especially appreciated how he calmly took care of all the details and enabled us to enjoy the evening without worrying about a thing.

The staff of Culinary Delights is talented and caring beyond expectation. Our guests are still raving about his culinary creations and how beautiful everything looked. It has been a pleasure to be able to give credit where credit is due- to Culinary Delights by John Feist. We highly recommend him to all our friends, family and colleagues.

John Feist is great to work with. The catering for our wedding was amazing! Great service, great food! Actually the best wedding food I've ever had and I'm not just saying that because it was my wedding. The short ribs and curry were my favorite! His staff set up the reception area beautifully. I took off a couple of points because a couple of details were missed like the champagne flutes my parents bought us were not put out and my personalized matches and sparklers were not put out either (I had planned a sparkler send off). I would recommend a staff member whos setting up the reception attend the final walk through so those details arent missed. Also, the "Curry Station" was just another part of the buffet, not an actual station where I thought a chef would be preparing individual orders of curry for my guests. The curry was Thai curry at the tasting but Indian curry was served at the wedding, fortunately we love both. Overall very good experience.

We used John and team for our wedding at Raspberry Plain in Leesburg VA and loved them! The food was delicious (mexican buffet) and there was plenty to go around. Our favorite breakfast burrito was incorporated and made our day that much more special.

We used Culinary Delights for our reception food for our wedding. Overall we were happy with the food. The Brie en Croute is amazing and everyone loved it. I am a vegetarian so with the exception of a chicken dish (which I did not try obviously) we had mostly veggie friendly options including risotto as the main dish.

They were pretty flexible, set up our cookie buffet as our favors (we made the cookies).

The reason I gave lower marks for service and value is because they started cleaning up about an hour and a half before they should have...short of taking drinks out of people's hands, they cleaned up the reception room and took drinks off of tables where people were sitting (I had several complaints about this). Also, the cookie buffet was removed before several guests left and the leftover cake was put in a cooler with water in it so most of it was ruined.

Overall the food was good but the service was a little unexpected.

Great Food customized to our request

John Feist and his staff were wonderful and the food was memorable. John was able to create a custom menu that represented the different cultures that were coming together via our wedding and it made the food a special and memorable part of the reception.

The food was great. We were provided with appetizers, a main course, and dessert (we had a family member bake the cake). The main course, family service, was delicious, there were a lot of compliments from the guests, hardly anything leftover. The service was great, food was delivered quickly for all of the guests. Drinks were poured and guests were kept happy, can't ask for more!

Great food, great service by Jill she is delightful! Some communication issues via email but no biggie. I was told that feist was rude to two of my cooridanators as well as to the DJ about the time and order of things. He didn't fully show both buffets so my guests didn't know about the nacho station. The food was fabulous the cupcake setup was beautiful and the sangria was a huge hit. They did great work to out everything together just a few tweaks on personality and communication.
