Personalized Ceremony!

Joe was so amazing to work with! We had several other interviews with different officiants but Joe by far made us feel the most comfortable/confident. He made the experience so personalized to us. He sent us readings and a general template but we were able to customize everything to suit us! It was simple and personal and extremely special. Joe is a lovely, reliable officiant and I would definitely recommend to anyone who is considering hiring him!

We couldn't have asked for a better person to have performed our marriage ceremony. Joe was kind, courteous and professional. He took an interest in us and our story and performed an absolutely perfect ceremony. We are so grateful and blessed that he was a part of our day.

Very easy to work with and made our wedding more special

Joe was easy to work with from start to finish get such an easy going funny personality that made it very easy to work with and talk to him he made our guests comfortable and he made us feel more comfortable too on this big day I would definitely recommend Joe if you're thinking about getting married

Very professional and helpful

Joe was our officiant for our wedding and he was wonderful to work with. He was incredibly responsive, helpful and professional. We had a meeting with him before the wedding where he was able to meet us and learn our story to make the ceremony specific to us as a couple. He had tons of additional reading options to help add to the ceremony. He sent us a script of the ceremony and allowed us to make any changes to make it perfect for us. Day of, he was perfect for the ceremony. You can tell how experienced he is. He had his own speaker setup that allowed all of our guests to hear the ceremony. He helped put us at ease with all of the chaos of the day, making sure the certificate paperwork was filled out properly and getting it to the courthouse ASAP. I'm incredibly happy Joe was our officiant and highly recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant in the Southern Maryland area.

A Special Custom Ceremony, Delivered Perfectly

From our first meeting with Joe, we knew he was the right choice to officiate our wedding. The process of planning and writing our ceremony, with Joe's good humor and professional knowledge of wedding ceremonies throughout, ended up being a fun and memorable part of wedding planning. Joe provided an excellent draft ceremony based on our discussion during our meeting, and we were able to request some revisions and readings custom to us. Joe efficiently walked our wedding party through our rehearsal and on the day of our wedding showed up early and prepared. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and we were able to fully enjoy the moment standing in front of our guests. Many of our guests complimented Joe's delivery and the personalized nature of our ceremony, which elicited both laughter and tears from our friends and family. After the ceremony, Joe filed our paperwork quickly and communicated this to us. We highly recommend Rev. Joe Orlando!

Simply Perfect!

We were very happy with Rev. Joe's process from beginning to end. He was so very accommodating throughout the entire process and his sense of humor put us at ease.
He made a genuine effort to get to know us beforehand to help him understand what made us and our relationship unique and special.

We felt extremely comfortable talking to him over Zoom because we were not going to be able to meet him in
person until the day of the wedding. He provided us with a great deal of material, such as readings to help us personalize our wedding.

He was very open to us editing the script of the wedding ceremony so it reflected our personalities and the type of wedding ceremony we wanted to have.

Rev. Joe was wonderful the day of the wedding prior to the ceremony as he checked in on us separately to make sure we did not have any last minute questions and wanted to help us take a moment and enjoy what a truly special occasion a wedding is for a couple, their friends and family.

He conducted the ceremony in a professional and caring manner that deeply touched us both, and our families and friends.

Rev, Joe took the time to talk to us afterwards and we could feel his genuine well wishes for us and our life
that we have started together.

The ceremony was simply perfect. It was the best wedding we have ever been to!

Great Officiant!

I was in desperate need of an officiant because all the ones my venue recommended were busy but it was a blessing because Joe was great! He was professional and easy to talk to. He helped make my ceremony as personalized as I wanted from what he wore to what type of ceremony (civil, religious, etc.) to what verses were read. The guests all told me how great the ceremony was after. He helped with the rehearsal and made the ceremony perfect. He is also very affordable. Highly recommend.

Just wonderful and would highly recommend!

Rev. Joe Orlando took great care to meet with us online (as we were coming in from another state) and really wanted to get to know us as a couple to personalize the ceremony. He kept us posted every step of the way and provided us with readings and ideas to customize the ceremony to us. He went above and beyond what we hoped for and we had so many wonderful compliments on the service and his delivery. It was quite meaningful, personalized and made for an intimate wedding. Our best man forgot one of the rings, and Rev. Joe was ever the professional and helped us through with light humor, which everyone loved. We highly recommend Rev. Joe Orlando for your wedding!

Reverend Joe took the time to really get to know the both of us in order to create the perfect wedding ceremony. He made sure to keep the ceremony professional while also remembering enough details to truly personalize our wedding. The perfect officiant for our perfect day

We were beyond blessed to have Joe perform our wedding! Throughout the process, we spoke a lot with him and he really took time to get to know us as a couple. He crafted the perfect ceremony that made our guests laugh and made us feel loved. He was always willing to take our suggestions into account and was very flexible with any alterations we wanted. We wanted to do a blending of the wines as part of our ceremony and have some guests read both biblical and secular passages as a perfect combination of all elements that meant a lot to us. Joe was happy to provide and many of our guests commented how beautiful of a ceremony it was! We would absolutely recommend Joe for any other lucky couple getting married.

Passionate and personal

Joe was a real joy to work with! He took the time to really get to know us - despite the fact we were states away before the wedding - and tailored his officiant speech to what made us unique as both individuals and as a couple. Reverend Joe was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was quick to communicate with and you felt he was genuinely excited to get to know you. He takes his position as an officiant seriously, and strives to create a ceremony that is personal and heartfelt. Officiant Reverend Joe

My husband and I had Reverend Joe as our officiant this past September. We were engaged for 15 months, and during that time Joe made sure to stay responsive. Any questions we had, he would answer promptly. Reverend Joe was a pleasure to work with as he was kind, listened to us, and gave us great tips and advice. Our ceremony was written well, and we loved what Joe put together for us. He made our day even more special!

My husband and I specifically had the goal of putting heart and character into every aspect of our wedding day, and choosing Joe, who has such an abundance of heart and character (and such a willingness to share it) was an obvious right choice. We had already heard such great things from friends and family who had heard him speak, about his way with words and his talent as an orator, but we were not prepared for his commitment and enthusiasm towards helping make our wedding something really special. Joe spent over an hour with us at our initial interview taking detailed notes about how we met, the way we felt about each other, and the logistics of how we wanted our ceremony to be. He truly wanted to get to know us as a couple, and it was obvious throughout our entire experience with him that creating a unique ceremony that reflected who we were as people, instead of writing a generic speech, was something that was a real priority to him.
Joe has a wealth of knowledge about different ceremony options and traditions, connections to other community vendors, and practical advice about how to make the day go smoothly. We asked him to be present for our rehearsal and he lead the entire operation, directing our large and distracted wedding party with clarity and patience. He walked us through the process of apply for a marriage license, and even gave me much-needed guidance on setting up my name change after the wedding. Joe gave us the reins for much of the process, including even sending us his entire ceremony months before the wedding so that we could approve it and make changes as a couple. Our first read-through brought the both of us to tears- Joe had been able to see through what we had told him to what made up the true bedrock of our relationship, and had then somehow put it into words. We hardly changed a thing, and our wedding guests still tell us about what a beautiful ceremony we had!

I'm not sure where to start. From the initial interview - which was fun and relaxed - Joe created a ceremony that was peppered with things that we have seen and done and thought during our 4 years together. Joe LISTENS. During the ceremony, I lost my ability to hold back tears several times, but Joe's warm, smooth voice brought be back to center. It didn't feel like someone doing something to us or for us, but rather, a loving conduit through which we were united. I could go on and on, but just know that you can't find a warmer, more empathetic Reverend than Joe Orlando. If I had to do it all again I would always pick Joe. The ceremony was small and the way he personalized it made everyone cry.

First and foremost, Rev Joe is a super nice guy. From the second we met him we knew he was our guy. He took the process seriously, yet kept it light. He was easy to get ahold of when needed, and in this process, that is very reassuring. At the rehearsal he really took charge, and walked us through everything, and we were certain of what we needed to do. At the ceremony, he had a very calm and reassuring demeanor, and that helped a lot. This is one of the most important days in your life, and we wholeheartedly recommend Rev Joe.

Very professional, and was extremely helpful on helping us going through the motion the day before. Then wedding day he is just wonderful. The guest were very pleased and enjoyed the service. We are so thankful that we found Joe through a colleague of Nikki's. She had heard nothing but wonderful things about Joe and we were thrilled when we heard that he was available for our wedding date. Everything from our initial meeting at his cozy bookstore (please take time to visit and look around) to the ceremony day was great! He gracefully guided the rehearsal and he was delightfully funny. We've received so many compliments from everyone on how beautiful the personalized ceremony was (grown men admitted to crying). Nikki is typically an anxious person and Joe's calming demeanor allowed her to feel relaxed and ready without worry. Even after when the courthouse misplaced paperwork for the license, Joe did not hesitate to address the issue and resolved it the same day. We cannot thank Joe enough for making our wedding so memorable and enjoyable!

I could think of no better choice for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding. Reverend Joe Orlando is very thoughtful, caring, and professional. Although he knew my son for many years, he met my daughter-in-law only two months before the wedding. In this short time, Reverend Joe still was able to get to know her as an individual and the two young fiancee's as a couple. He was more than willing to work with them in order to combine several traditions of very diverse cultural backgrounds to make their wedding ceremony truly unique. Many of our guests were very impressed by this personalized approach to honoring age old traditions from both cultures that combined the couple's own personal sentiments and original vows into one meaningful celebration among family and friends.

Joe was super easy to work with! We booked with Joe last minute and he put together a very personalized and memorable ceremony. He made the process so easy and made sure my husband and I were involved in every step! All of our guests were raving about how wonderful the ceremony was. We contacted Joe a little over a week before we wanted to tie the knot, and he was able to put together a wonderful ceremony in a very short amount of time.

Joe was fantastic; friendly, funny and very open to our input. He really put us at ease in making the arrangements for our wedding. Reverend Joe conducted a very beautiful ceremony for my parents 30th Anniversary Vow Renewal (a surprise for my mom). I found him with very short notice, but you never would have known. He worked with my Dad to create a script, incorporating personal details, and actually sent me a copy of the script for my review. It was very nice to know exactly what was going to be said and to be able to make edits, if I felt necessary.

He showed up early, was very attentive and delivered a great ceremony. I am so glad I found Reverend Joe! Thank you!!

Reverend Orlando was the perfect fit for us. He was very responsive to emails and phone communication which was very helpful during planning. The Reverend would schedule meeting times when it was convenient to us in a location that was quiet and comfortable for discussing the wedding. He facilitated how weddings typically go and then we were able to fill in the details that were right for us. He was professional and efficient. Rev. Joe helped mold our wedding vows into beautiful words of wisdom which we can cherish our whole lives through. Reverend Orlando went above and beyond to meet our needs! Joe was fantastic! Absolutely wonderful! I was having a hard time finding an officiant we clicked with until my wedding coordinator suggested him. What a wonderful match! He sent me a rough draft of the ceremony a few months prior and it caused the tears to start rolling already. I'm glad I have a copy of it to keep, too, considering that I was so lost in the moment on the big day that I can't remember what was said! Lol. We received so many compliments on his ceremony, too. Everyone said it had them tearing up because it was as if it was written specifically for us and fit so perfectly. We literally had the perfect ceremony thanks to Joe. The day of our wedding, our officiant called to say she would be 1.5 hours late, and then 30 mins later she called back to say she was in a car accident and wouldn't be able to make it at all. The B&B we were hosting the wedding at called Joe and he came over right away. He had never met us, and knew nothing about us, but came anyway out of the goodness of his heart to help out a couple on their wedding day. He came straight from another wedding and was likely tired and a little apprehensive having never met us, but he performed the most beautiful ceremony I've ever heard. He spoke with warmth and love and made us feel like he had known us forever. I lost count at how many guests came up afterwards and commented on how much they really enjoyed the officiant -- which is not something a bride usually gets compliments on! Things may not have worked out the way we planned, but everything happened the way it should have and we have Joe to thank for that.

The overall goal for our wedding was being as stress free as possible. We were looking for a wedding officiant who would perform a non-religious ceremony focusing on our love and relationship.

We went through a couple phone calls with other officiants who seemed overbooked (offered to squeeze ours between 2 other weddings on the same day - no thanks!) or were insanely expensive.

We emailed Joe with questions about performing our wedding (prices, availability) and he immediately returned our email with a very reasonable cost and a short form asking about us. We were pleased that he would make the extra effort to get to know us, as opposed to using a canned ceremony speech. Surprisingly answering some of the questions were actually difficult, but fun!

Up to the wedding Joe kept in full contact with us, we went back and forth with the ceremony outline, adding and cutting pieces until we were happy with it. On the day of the wedding Joe showed up well ahead of time dressed very nicely which fit our wedding "look".

The ceremony was excellent, and during the reception we received compliments on the officiant. Things like..."He was really good" and "I liked your officiant, where did you find him?". We couldn't have asked for a better ceremony.

My wife and I were extremely satisfied with Reverend Orlando. We found Joe on-line while searching for non-denominational Officiant's in our area. Having a non-denominational Officiant marry us was very important to both my wife and myself and, in fact, was our number one requirement. He was the first Officiant -- and I'm very pleased to say "the last" -- that we called. My initial phone conversation with Joe revealed to me that he was a man of kindness and compassion, a man that truly loved his profession, and a man that recognized first and foremost that the wedding ceremony was about no others than the bride and groom. At his request, we met with Joe for an hour one Saturday morning at his cozy and very quaint book store. When we walked in, Joe had fresh brewed coffee waiting for us. Over that hour, my wife and I had a chance to tell Joe all we could about ourselves and about what we envisioned for our wedding day (it was very important for Joe to become acquainted with us before he started drafting a wedding ceremony for us). No more than 2 days after our meeting, Joe emailed us a draft ceremony. It was an excellent fit for the two of us. Nonetheless, Joe worked with us over email to make minor tweaks here-and-there. Fast-forward to a month before the ceremony... We ran into Joe and his wife at a local store. He was very happy to see us and shared with us his notes from a recent wedding he had conducted at the same venue at which we were about to get married. This conversation lasted for a good half hour, and Joe never once made us feel like we were intruding on his personal time. Joe even followed that impromptu meeting up with a few "additional info" emails as well as a call to the wedding venue to ensure certain things were looked into and addressed for our wedding. Fast-forward to the rehearsal... Joe spent an hour with us and our families and wedding parties the night before the wedding rehearsing every aspect of the wedding until my wife and I were completely satisfied. Not only did he advise on how he felt things should flow (which we greatly appreciated), but he also was very intent on allowing us to influence the flow and flavor of the ceremony to our liking. We never felt rushed, and Joe did not want to leave the rehearsal until we (actually EVERYONE) were completely satisfied. Later that evening and the next morning, Joe sent me a few emails reminding me to bring things like the marriage certificate (and tissues in case emotions overflowed) - this was Joe's once again going the extra mile to extend a helping and caring hand to ensure the everything went as planned without issues. Fast forward to the ceremony... Joe spent the 45 mins before the ceremony with myself, my best man, my two ushers, and my father. He helped us with our boutonnières and answered our last minute questions -- he was amazingly effective at calming your nerves and reassuring everyone that things would be absolutely beautiful and "perfect". The ceremony - IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! Although I had read the ceremony numerous times before our wedding day, it was so much more powerful and meaningful hearing it be recited by Joe. It was moving, to say the least. Fast-forward to after the ceremony... My wife and I had countless wedding participants (families and friends) comment on how "good" and "nice" the Officiant was and how "beautiful" the ceremony was........ All in all, we can't say enough about Joe. We would never recommend any other Officiant but Reverend Orlando to any of our friends or families! Thanks again (and again and AGAIN) Joe!

We cannot say enough about Rev. Joe. He made us feel very comfortable at our first interview and always answered our e-mails immediately. Reverend Joe Orlando made the wedding. He spent time getting to know the wedding party and to plan a meaningful (dream) of a wedding. I would recommend him to everyone. He worked with our short time of preparation and paid close attention to detail. He is an artful master and I am so grateful that he was available. Our guests were moved!

Reverend Joe Orlando officiated my wedding in 2007 and did a wonderful job! my husband and i are not die hard romantics and are surrounded by a bunch of religions and this proved no challenge to Mr. Orlando. He has a great personality and can get along with anyone. He wrote our entire ceremony for us and even dealt with my crazy wedding party !! i would highly recommend him for any wedding!

Joe Orlando was wonderful! I changed my mind about where I was having the wedding and he was very understanding and agreed to meet me at the other place. He also was so kind to wait 20 minutes for my husbands parents to arrive since there was traffic. I think I worried more about him being late for his other wedding then about my husbands parents. He was great though and I'm glad got to share my big day with him!

Rev Joe Orlando: The wedding went very well, Rev Orlando was willing to meet with us and discuss our needs and what we wanted out of the ceremony, he even thought of a sand ceremony which when did not, we received a lot of comments on how well the ceremony went and how nice it was. We would highly recommend Rev Joe Orlando to anyone who is considering getting married.

Having Reverend Joe Orlando as our wedding officiant was an absolute dream. From the moment my mother and I met him we knew he was the right officiant to use for our garden wedding.

As a person Reverend Joe is warm, calming, welcoming, appropriately inquisitive and artistic. He also has a wonderful, nerve-calming voice for conducting a wedding ceremony. If you meet with him he'll be inviting, happy to see you and might just offer you a cup of coffee. If you hire him you'll get an officiant who brings ideas to the table but will incorporate whatever your personal requests and preferences are. Also, his fee is very reasonable!

Reverend Joe has cool ideas for creative ceremonies and is very flexible regarding content. During the planning stage he gave us quick email replies on our ceremony revisions every time, and was truly helpful right up to the moment we said "I do."

Highly recommended.

Reverend Joe did an amazing job with our wedding. We wanted a short (15 minutes max,) simple non-denominational service appropriate for our families of different religions, as well as for a beach-side noon wedding, and Rev Joe delivered and more. He went over everything he would say with us beforehand and was extremely responsive via e-mail. But the best part was the service itself. The 90+ guests could hear him perfectly despite the windy beach, and his presentation was both heartfelt and appropriately humorous. We'd already known what he was going to say, but his delivery made everything even more special for us. We can't recommend him enough.

Reverend Orlando was the officiant for my wedding on May 28, 2011. He met with us immidiately upon inquiry at his bookstore in Leonardtown. We immidately knew that Joe would be the person to marry my now husband and myself. He came to our rehearsal and stayed until everyone felt comfortable with their roles in the ceremony. The day of the ceremony everything went smoothly - I couldn't have been happier. It was one of the best choices we made throughout our wedding planning. I would highly recommend Reverend Joe Orlando to anyone looking for a wedding officiant.

Joe was really fantastic! He came to our home to meet him, so we didn't have to go out of our way. He made us feel at ease and got to know us prior to our ceremony.

He allowed us to write our entire ceremony and went by it to the T. Even with the lights going out (bad wind on our wedding day) he held his composure and did a fanastic job!
