I Highly Recommend The County Line On The Lake
We had a phenomenal time at our wedding at the County Line On The Lake. We received lots of compliments from guests about the venue, which is a lovely space adjacent to the classic Austin restaurant with a beautiful lawn overlooking Bull Creek on Lake Austin. We had 65 people at our wedding and the Boy Scout Room and its lawn was the perfect amount of space. After the ceremony, we had a cocktail hour on the lawn (with yard games, which were a huge hit) while we took our couple portraits down by the lake, and after cocktail hour the rest of the reception took place mostly in the Boy Scout Room, which was super cozy with plenty of room for the dance floor and space for mingling.
Kristina, the event planner and Katelyn, the day-of coordinator, were invaluable in helping us plan our perfect day. I was interested in having a boat exit (it's on the lake- how could we not) and they took care of securing that vendor for me and arranging all the details so I barely had to lift a finger. It was all just so convenient and easy, made very stress free. The County Line offers several decoration packages and we took advantage of many of them and felt that it was well worth our money.
On the day of, Katelyn was invaluable in running the show for us, and helping wrangle people who needed to be wrangled. I think it ran very smoothly all because of her help.
The food was delicious - we received lots of comments that people really enjoyed it. I am really happy we got to serve our out of town guests some delicious Texas BBQ. :)
Thank you to all of the County Line staff who were so professional and kind who made our special day amazing. An Amazing Hometown Wedding in April
The wedding planner, day-of coordinator, and staff at County Line On The Lakes were so professional and friendly throughout the entire process. Kristina (event planner) was so helpful in organizing the events of the day as my fiancé and I created the plans from the time we selected a date to the day of the wedding. Katelyn (day-of coordinator) was such an amazing support from the final walk through/rehearsal all the way through the reception. They were both able to answer questions for our vendors to allow the day to seamless. Everyone raved about the events. Even with the seasonal rain, everything was thought through for every scenario. I would absolutely recommend this venue for weddings or events in the future. The wedding planner, day-of coordinator, and staff at County Line On The Lakes were so professional and friendly throughout the entire process. Phenomenal & Flexible
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the County Line on the Lake this past December. We'd originally booked a wedding venue in Las Vegas and spent about 9 months planning our Vegas destination wedding. But, in true 2020 fashion, due to COVID travel restrictions and high case numbers around the country , we made the very tough decision to change our plans to an Austin wedding, and had to plan everything in about 3 months. We knew we wanted an intimate, smaller wedding and wanted to choose an Austin-original restaurant. We toured the grounds of the County Line with Krissy and knew it was the place for us! We booked the Boy Scout Room for our serving area, the Grand Pavilion for dinner seating, cake table and dance floor, and the grounds for our ceremony and extra space for guests to spread out during the reception. We had about 40 guests and everyone was able to enjoy the reception safely. Here are just a few of the reasons we loved our experience:
- The space was beautiful! We received so many compliments on how beautiful the grounds were. (In fact, we had a friend tell us later, "I thought it was weird that you were getting married at a BBQ joint, but when we walked in and saw the place, we went, 'Oh. This is gorgeous!'")
- Making our payments online was incredibly easy, and pricing for everything was incredibly fair.
- The food was absolutely delicious.
- The bar package was awesome as far as alcohol selection and brands, and was very fairly priced.
- We had a BOAT EXIT! (This was the COOLEST thing and was one of my favorite parts of the day. County Line Owner Skeeter and his wife and County Line's Director of Special Events, Vanessa, were our captain and co-captain on the boat. They gave us blankets, a bottle of champagne and glasses, a custom sign for the back of the boat, and were gracious hosts. They took us out on the lake to the 360 bridge and back. After the craziness of the day, it was so nice to just sit as newly married husband-and-wife and have some quiet time out on the water.)
- All staff were friendly and helpful. (and SAFE! ALL MASKED AND GLOVED!)
- Our original ceremony location was to be our church's outdoor garden. Due to impending Stage 5 restrictions in Austin, our church decided it wouldn't be possible to host our wedding. So, with only 4 days' notice, we called Krissy to ask if we could have our ceremony at the County Line. She didn't bat an eye, and made it happen for us!
- Krissy is the queen!!! She was calm, flexible with ALL of the curveballs thrown at us the week of, and great with communication, both via phone and email. She was very detail-oriented and always had a thoughtful and thorough answer for every question we asked. Her ultimate goal, through the entire process, was to make sure we were happy.
- In order to have the safest wedding ceremony and reception possible, we made sure much of our day's events would take place outside. And just our luck... it rained on our wedding day. Krissy got in contact with my matron of honor that morning and we worked out a plan for chair placement so that the guests wouldn't sink into the mushy grass during the ceremony.
- The staff made us a "to-go box" of buffet leftovers, and helped my family box up the rest of our cake.
Our experience at the County Line on the Lake was phenomenal and we are so thankful to Krissy, Skeeter, Vanessa, and the entire staff for making our wedding day so wonderful. Not a great venue, but catering is delicious.
The venue event coordinators (Kristina & Vanessa) are nowhere to be found after signing their contract and paying their deposit. Then a week prior to your event they will tell you that the pictures on their website aren't what they can accommodate. The plastic tarp surrounding their "Grand Ballroom" can't be rolled up even in good weather despite their website showing it can and even 10 tables have to be squished inside instead of spread out. Then they will try and nickel & dime you for even lemonade & setting up chairs despite purchasing the "all you can eat" and "open bar" options. We thought this was a great venue, but I can only recommend the food. The venue event coordinators (Kristina & Vanessa) are nowhere to be found after signing their contract and paying their deposit. We got married at the County Line on the Lake, and I'll admit, I was surprised that they do weddings there. However, the venue made the process so easy! One stop shop for almost everything-I only had 4 other vendors-coordinator, photographer, DJ, and Boat Captain. I was not excited about planning a wedding, so this was exactly what my husband and I were looking for. This is a hidden gem and is SO reasonably priced! Beyond a small retainer to hold your date and spaces, you are paying for the food and drinks, which is comparable to their restaurant costs. They have a variety of packages you can choose from for both food and drinks, but are open to you coming up with your own system as well. And the food...all you can eat family style and SO good! The only challenge was that we had a few vegetarians and it took some time to get their dishes out, but what can you expect from a place that specializes in BBQ? We had gone through some changes with coordinators and some confusion at the time, but that was resolved and no issues overall.
The venue itself turned out to be absolutely gorgeous on our October date-the pictures don't do it justice! It also lead to some GREAT shots of us playing around in the restaurant and our names on the marquee!
Also, because of the venue location, we decided to leave on a boat at the end of the night, which was the best decision we could have made. It's about a 20 minute ride to the bridge, which is where we had a car parked, and it was a pleasant and relaxing end to an amazing, busy day.

We had our rehearsal dinner at the County Line on the Patio by the river. It was absolutely perfect! The service was fantastic and they were very easy to work with leading up to the event. The food was amazing and everyone was loving the atmosphere, the water and the turtles :) It could not have gone better and they even allowed us to rehearse our ceremony in the grass off to the side. The food was so delicious! We asked to have "private dining" in the "back" of our venue (The Mansfield). The head Caterer for our wedding went above and beyond, along with our wedding coordinator, and set up an adorable table for us in the hallway. County Line is one of my husband's favorite bbq places in Austin, so of course we had them cater our wedding reception with a bbq buffet! Mike and County Line worked with our wedding coordinator in advance to make sure that we had exactly what we needed, and the food was delicious as expected. They even prepared a special meal for one of my friends who had an uncommon allergy, and she thought it was great as well. AWESOME JOB!! We used Vista on Seward Hill for our Venue which is directly next door to County Line. Dee Dee is the manager and she is a hardworker! Queen Dee Dee! Im so grateful that she executed everything beyond I expected. Dee Dee doesn't just cater the food she does everything! She set out all the linens, tables, chairs, ALL of my decorations that I made and bought, coffee bar, guest sign in table etc. She listened, took notes and executed the day of the wedding. If you are a detailed bride and you have a vison you wont need a wedding planner for the day of. Dee dee and her staff put everything out and cleaned up! Dee Dee communicates on email which is a huge plus for me! Thanks for everything Dee Dee!!AWESOME JOB!! We used Vista on Seward Hill for our Venue which is directly next door to County Line.
