Hiring Cosmic Groove was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Every guest we’ve spoken to has raved about how incredible the band was—they were truly the highlight of the night. Their ability to perform such a wide range of songs was amazing, and they kept the dance floor packed from start to finish.
We’ve followed Cosmic Groove around town when they’ve performed at the Royal Oak Farmers Market for different events, so we were absolutely thrilled to book them for our big day. From a planning perspective, working with TJ was an absolute breeze. He was professional, responsive, and made the entire process seamless.
Cosmic Groove perfectly captured the energy we wanted for our celebration, and their performance created memories we’ll cherish forever. If you're looking for a band that will blow your guests away and keep the party going all night, look no further than Cosmic Groove. Highly recommend! -

Cosmic groove is the best band ever!!! They are organized; professional; and lead an amazing party! They handle everything from set up to music selection. Our pre-wedding meeting was very well organized and every detail was discussed! Our guests talked about Cosmic Groove for weeks!!

Cosmic Groove was without a doubt one of the most memorable parts of our wedding weekend and easily one of the most talked about things at our Farewell Breakfast the morning after! They were super responsive throughout the planning process, offered a huge repertoire of songs to select for them to curate their setlist for the evening, and just straight up ran the show and played a huge role in my wife and I being able to enjoy the rest of the night after our responsibilities were complete! I’d highly recommend Cosmic Groove for your big day—they were a no brainer for us and the only thing we would change would be having them play longer if city ordinances weren’t a factor! -

Cosmic Groove was such a hit at our wedding!! They perfectly performed our ceremony music, leaving no dry eye in the house! The cocktail hour and dinner music set the perfect ambiance, and they were such a blast that at the end of the night the whole crowd was cheering for an encore (which of course they performed). From start to finish, T.J. was organized and professional and so easy to work with! So happy with our choice of Cosmic Groove! -

Cosmic Groove was an invaluable component of our wedding reception at the Henry Ford Museum. I had several people tell me (the groom) how much they loved the band, how cool it was to have live music in that space, and how good they thought the songs were. Even though they were ripping through song after song rom 9 pm right up until the 1 am cutoff time (with fun short set breaks with songs we chose), both band and wedding-goers alike had plenty of energy to dance and sing throughout the night. My bride told me this was the single best investment we made during the wedding.
Leading up to the wedding, TJ was very helpful answering our questions over calls and making sure he had all the details right to ensure our night was a success. Their setlist is deep which made for a fun time choosing the songs we wanted to hear. They even were able to add on the ceremony music on after we signed the initial contract and their single keyboardist had a classy setup. There were no mistakes on the emcee-ing front either. 5 stars without a doubt. -

They are absolutely amazing!!! 100% recommended! We found them by going to some beer tastings up in Royal Oak and they did not disappoint on our special day!!!! Our guests absolutely loved them and they had everyone dancing all night! -

Everybody on the Dance Floor
Cosmic Groove was absolutely amazing! T.J. is truly a master of his craft and such a pleasant professional to work with. The other musicians are also incredible. Their sound and song choice list was perfection! T.J. responded to all of my inquires and questions very promptly, and he even made a site visit prior to the wedding to ensure things would run smoothly the day of our wedding (and things went great). The band was incredible! A lot of our guests were complimenting how amazing the band was...at one point there was hardly any room left on the dance floor! We had guests of all ages at our wedding, and everyone enjoyed the band and dancing! Working with Cosmic Groove was an incredible experience and one of our favorite things about our wedding! Book them immediately and you and your guests certainly won't regret it! They brought tremendous energy to our party and we are super grateful! -

Cosmic Groove was everything we could have wanted for our wedding celebration. After 3 postponements, the band was able to be flexible with us as we navigated COVID-19. Our celebration was a blast. Dance floor was going all evening and the crowd loved them! You won't be disappointed with Cosmic Groove! -

Finding a band that you've never heard play live can be quite challenging, but with the help of the Detroit Event Company they led us to Cosmic Groove! From our very first interaction with TJ (the band leader) he was very organized, friendly and helped us figure out exactly what we wanted. Leading up to the day we were in constant communication and the band was one of my vendors i had 0 worries or doubts about (which means a lot when you’re the bride)!
Day of the band arrived early, set up the reception and ceremony site equipment and made the whole day go smoothly! Then when the real party started… the dance floor was never empty! Everyone was grooving and just having the best time! They knew all the right songs to play, when to play them, and even had fun little props to interact with the crowd!
I couldn’t have asked for a better, more talented & ready to rock band than Cosmic Groove! If you’re looking for a wedding band, look no further! Our guest are still raving over how much they loved them. -

We couldn't recommend Cosmic Groove anymore highly. They were amazing. A month later, and folks are still talking about how great of a band we had at our wedding. TJ and crew were so professional. We had meetings leading up to the wedding that made me feel like they really wanted to get everything just right for us. During the wedding they brought such a party energy and sounded AMAZING (I can't tell you how many folks have said they couldn't believe the vocals!) Cosmic Groove was everything we had hoped for in our wedding band and then some. Our guests were raving about how great they were as the dance floor was packed from start to finish and they were also incredibly helpful during the planning stages as they provided a PA system for our ceremony and arranging how we'd go about some things we hadn't planned yet (bridal-party entrances, order of speeches, order of traditional dances, etc). I would highly recommend to anyone, whether it be a close friend/family member or total stranger. -

Cosmic Groove is Out of this World!!
Everything about Cosmic Groove made my wedding truly a day to remember! TJ coordinated everything seamlessly. The band having an officiant I could hire made Cosmic Groove a one stop shop! Their piano player was able to create Disney songs into beautifully arranged piano pieces for us to walk down the aisle to. They are a band for all ages, from blow up guitars for the kids to a rock and roll 80s leaf blower for the hardcore dancers. Their music certainly does not disappoint, from Beatles, 80s, to Lizzo. They even learned songs just for us on our special day! Can't say enough good things about this band. Thank you Cosmic Groove, you made it a night to remember!! -

After seeing Cosmic Groove perform as several club and event venues -- it was a no-brainer for us to select them for our backyard wedding entertainment. They exceeded all expectations and really helped to make our event memorable. Every part of the experience in working with them was easy, accommodating and professional. Highlights:
> Learned a song for our event that had special meaning for my family
> Effortlessly (and without drama) dealt with a torrential downpour right before they were supposed to start playing
> Tried to make everyone on the dance floor and sitting nearby feel a part of the festivities -- from handing out a cowbell for my teenage son to play to fun and very relevant in between song banter.
> Multiple guests remarked how each song played (from Bobby Darrin/Tom Jones songs thru 70's disco, 80's new wave and very current hits) sounded like the original artists.
We cannot say enough positive things about our experience with CG. -

Best Wedding Band
I cannot thank TJ and the band enough for such a wonderful wedding night. Every person at the reception was on the dance floor throughout the night and the only time I saw it empty was when they took a break! We couldn’t get my 90 year old grandfather off the dance floor because he was having so much fun. I will recommend these guys to anyone who asks their music is phenomenal. -

From the initial booking of the band, there was never anything else we needed to coordinate. They work with you on song selections for live performance as well as during breaks. Their song listing is expansive. You won't need to coordinate anything or have a music "to do" list once you book this band. Not once during the pre-planning did they ever say "that's not in the contract". When we asked to add a Jazz set during the cocktail hour 2 weeks before the wedding, they updated our contract with no issue. They even helped with a song mix I asked for, 3 days ahead of the wedding! If that isn't enough to convince you to book this band, then here is more to consider. This band is an expert at their craft. The songs they play sound as good as, if not better than, the artists that recorded them! Even more than expert musicians, they are PERFORMERS: engaging everyone in attendance - whether they're dancing or not; and they are expert CONDUCTORS: making sure that every aspect of your reception is executed with precision. If you have guests that don't dance, they will still enjoy themselves like they are at a live concert! If they do dance, and get a little "crazy", the band doesn't get annoyed - they embrace the fun! And, if the dance floor has only a few people (a rarity with this band), they come ON THE FLOOR and dance with you - which then results in everyone coming to the dance floor and joining the fun! Weddings are expensive and choosing how to spend your money is hard. I offer this advice: people won't remember if the food wasn't good, or if the liquor wasn't top shelf, or if the chairs didn't have covers, or if the cake wasn't delectable, or if the flowers and centerpieces weren't beautiful. They WILL remember if they had fun! For years to come, your guests will compare all future weddings they attend, to the experience they had at YOUR wedding! That memory is PRICELESS! Cosmic Groove was straight up awesome. They did both of my sisters weddings in addition to mine (and I have 3 more sisters which means hopefully 3 more weddings with them ;) !!!) The band contacted us beforehand on a few different occasions to make sure that everything would be set up and ready to go for the big night. It was perfect. The dance floor was full until last call and then even after everyone wanted “one more song”. The night was a dream and I will always remember it. Thank you to Cosmic Groove for bringing the party and keeping it going! They can play anything! -

Matt Sent on 11/11/2015Cosmic Groove Band is a 5-star vendor. In fact, it almost seems wrong to even call them a "vendor." That title just has the sound of a relationship based solely on a monetary transaction & a service. In fact, Cosmic Groove was almost like having 8 extra friends at our wedding reception.
My (new) wife and I can't say enough about how much Cosmic Groove added to our wedding. In fact, there was even a point during the night when I was in the photo booth, and was surprised when two members of the band came in for a picture! They are the epitome of a fully interactive band.
In terms of the nuts & bolts of planning the wedding, from the very fist inquiry emails, to the night of our wedding, they were nothing short of amazing. Professionalism is definitely a term I would use to describe them. During preparation meetings, we were asked questions that we NEVER would have even thought of considering, however, they all ended up playing a role in why our night was so enjoyable.
I've never been to a wedding where the dance floor was as filled as ours was. Truly, the dance floor was packed the entire night, and that is because of Cosmic Groove. They were able to take the 40-50 songs that we selected, and arrange the set lists in a way that our guests in their 70's (my great-Aunt Kathy) was just as glued to the dance floor as our 11-year old guest (my nephew Nick) as well as everyone in between.
As we reflect back upon our wedding, we keep hearing people talk about how they felt the band truly added a dynamic element to our celebration.
I know it sounds like an advertisement, but I can't stress this enough: If you're in the search for a band for your event, I can't even fathom looking anywhere else.
