Convict Lake is an absolute dream, especially for couples who love nature like us. The breathtaking scenery creates a naturally romantic and intimate atmosphere that doesn’t need much added decor. It’s truly one of the most beautiful places to get married.
What made our experience exceptional was Meghan, our wedding planner. From the very beginning, Meghan demonstrated true professionalism and expertise. She is incredibly knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and clearly an expert at what she does. Throughout the planning process, she made everything feel stress-free and seamless and even helped us find our wedding officiant. The staff at Convict Lake Resort were equally wonderful. They were friendly, accommodating, and incredibly professional. Everything ran smoothly on our wedding day, allowing us to enjoy every moment.
Having on-site cabins to rent for wedding preparations was a big bonus too! The team even drove us from our cabin to the wedding tent and vice versa even though it’s just within the area.

Simply the Best
Where to start? The venue, food, and Meghan were all amazing! I have grown up staying at Convict Lake and having our wedding there was a dream come true! We chose the taco bar and it was a hit! I am still hearing from our guests about how great the food was. In top of the beautiful location and amazing food, Meghan was so great to work with! She was responsive and eased my anxiety over planning every step of the way! She was organized, well planned, and easy to work with! I cannot say enough great things about her! Overall, 11/10 experience, they helped us make our day one to always remember! -

My husband and I got married at Convict Lake Resort this past October and everything (literally everything) was absolutely perfect. The weather, the scenery, the fall colors, the people! We have been frequent flyers of Convict Lake for a couple of years and one of our favorite things about it, is it grants one the feel of being in the High Sierra without having to hike a long way. We toyed with the idea of eloping at an alpine lake in the High Sierra that you have to walk really far, but after chatting with Meghan we knew that we could get the people we love most to experience our favorite environment with us. And while the venue speaks for itself, Meghan is phenomenal. Right from the start she is professional and genuinely excited to make your dream day a reality. She takes over a lot of the coordination and logistics so you can just bring your vision. Make sure to ask her lots of questions, she has the answers but doesn't want to impose upon your ideas and wishes. She really made the planning stress free. And just when I thought she couldn't do anymore to make everything seamless, on our big day she took care of everything. She made sure the other vendors got there and got set up, she delivered my bouquet to me, she drove the shuttle, she ensured we had snacks, water, and dinner. Meghan is who you want on your wedding team. We already knew we loved the venue, but getting the opportunity to work with Meghan was extra special. Best Wedding Ever
I still think about how amazing the our day was even 4 months later. Meghan is EXCEPTIONAL. She is personable, helpful, funny, and helps so much to reduce stress on me (the bride). She gave me ideas when I asked and made all my hopes a wishes come true. She went so above and beyond to make sure me and my husband were taken care of in the wedding planning process, the day of, and even after the wedding day. My husband and I are so happy we chose Convict Lake as our wedding venue. We truly had the best experience anyone could hope for. From the start Meghan was very responsive and knowledgable. While familiar with the area I was planning a wedding from out state with about half of our guests flying in from Michigan and Meghan made it such an easy process. From lists of vendors to coordinating with all of our vendors prior to and day of there was very little I had to worry about. Meghan was very accommodating with special requests, and throughout the entire planning process responded promptly to my emails and requests for phone calls. On wedding day she was highly organized and very attentive. Everyone was blown away with the beauty of the venue, the ambiance, how friendly everyone was, and the food. I highly recommend convict lake as your wedding venue. -

Seamless and Lovely Experience
Our wedding at Convict Lake was absolutely perfect and that was made possible by Meghan (wedding coordinator at the resort) and her incredible team. The experience from start to finish was so seamless. They are true professionals at what they do and will make sure all the details are in place every step of the way. You will first speak with Meghan and she'll ask you some questions to provide you with a quote. Once you're booked, you'll have a few meetings with Meghan as the wedding gets closer. She makes sure everything is taken care of and sets you up with a little wedding planner booklet with all the details of your day. She's practically a wedding planner except she doesn't communicate with your vendors. On the day of, her and her team set up all your décor and all you have to do is show up to walk down the aisle and the party begins. Also, the venue -- obviously -- is incredibly stunning. Your guests will be in awe of the natural beauty -- it's magical in there. Seriously can't recommend them highly enough! -

Our Perfect Day

Getting married at Convict Lake Resort was a total dream come true. We held our ceremony in the Aspen Grove, the cocktail hour and reception in their beautiful tent and then headed over to the Convict Lake Restaurant after the reception for s'mores and mini grilled cheese with tomato soup (so tasty!). The Aspen Grove felt intimate and whimsical with its market lights strung amongst the branches, perfect for our 85 person wedding. The Aspen Grove is somewhat protected as well with a new fence - which is definitely a good thing when gets windy, which is not infrequent in this area. The semi-permanent tent is lovely - open and airy but really benefiting from a sturdy floor, which makes having a big, raucous dance party very possible (and much easier than many of the less permanent tented mountain/rustic weddings I have attended in the past). Being a part of Convict Resort (which has one of the better restaurants in town!) also means that the food is amazing, and our guests had nothing but good things to say about the food at dinner and brunch the following morning. Being able to easily walk over to the restaurant/bar for an after party was great. The location is perfect - Convict Lake and its surrounding mountains provide such a stunning setting for a wedding and really allow for the most beautiful photos. We had our first look as well as all of our family photos by the lake and could not be happier with them.
My husband and I live locally but none of our family does, and so being able to have family and friends stay at Convict Resort in their lovely, comfortable cabins and be within walking distance not only of our wedding but also of all of the amazing nearby activities (boating, hiking, fishing) was such a great way for them to experience the Eastern Sierra for the first time. We had our rehearsal dinner in Mammoth and our ceremony/reception and Sunday morning brunch at Convict, and we had guests stay both at Convict Resort and in town. It is an easy 15 minute drive from town (we had shuttles the night of the reception so that nobody felt the need to drive after drinking) and being able to showcase multiple beautiful parts of this area was really fun.
Aside from the beauty and ease of Convict Resort - I also cannot recommend Meghan and her team highly enough. Meghan was wonderful to work with - quick to respond, flexible, professional and just so kind. She works incredibly hard to help hone in a wedding vision and then literally sets all of it up flawlessly. Planning a wedding in the age of Covid is fun for no one, but Meghan made it so easy and essentially stress-free. She was completely on top of day of timing and schedule as well so we didn't have to think about anything other than enjoying the day. So many family members went out of their way to talk about how gracious, kind and friendly everyone working at Convict was during both our wedding and our brunch - we felt so taken care of by everyone and our guests really appreciated the incredible service.
All in all - Convict Lake Resort is a perfect place to get married. Beautiful, convenient and with an incredible team that makes planning a wedding a total dream. I can't recommend it highly enough. -

Best Day of Our Lives 7-9-21
Having our wedding at Convict Lake Resort and working with Meghan was the best decision we could have ever made! Our wedding at Convict Lake Resort was an actual dream, everything was was perfect. First Convict Lake Resort is a dream venue. The venue was absolutely stunning. The whole staff was extremely helpful and we had so many compliments from guests telling us how attentive and wonderful the staff were at our reception. Second Meghan is hands down the best wedding coordinator around. Meghan made all of our wedding dreams come true. She is truly the best at what she does and we are so lucky to have had her help. I cannot express how thankful we were to have her be apart of our wedding. She is the best. We had a vision in mind in how we wanted the tent to look and be decorated and she went above and beyond to make that vision happen. Plus she exceeded our expectations in all of her help, so so helpful! The food at Convict Lake Resort was amazing. We still have guests tell us it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. We cannot emphasize enough how smooth it was to plan our wedding at Convict Lake Resort. The provided our linens , tables, chairs, and a lounge area. Everything was beautiful and exactly what we were looking for. We would definitely recommend Convict Lake Resort and cannot wait to come back to make more memories! My husband and I were married at Convict Lake 08/21/2021. This was hands down the best weekend of our lives. The rehearsal dinner, ceremony, venue and after party were all at the venue so everything was easy for our guests to get to. Since weddings usually consist of an open bar to some extent, the cabins made it nice for everyone to walk. Sometimes stumble back to safely so there is no drinking and driving. The venue had lots of cabins for our wedding to get ready in and guests to stay in (Not to mention it is dog friendly so our chocolate lab puppy could be a part of it al! ) We had 125 guests and the cabins fit from 2 up to 34 guests so they are perfect for every budget and our family and friends took over for the weekend. The staff that works at Convict is just as amazing as our wedding vendors! Lisa and Pete and their crew made sure everyone was taken care of, From checking in, to renting boats, horseback riding and so much more! The cabins were clean and comfortable for all guests. Since there are not many taxis and there isnt uber that runs all night long it made it very convenient. Not to mention there are deer running around the venue all day long which we do not get a chance to see everyday! The venue is located only 10 - 15 minutes from Mammoth so everything is fairly close for guests to stay in hotels if they don't stay in the cabins.
From the moment we met with Meghan, our wedding coordinator, she was amazing. She had listened to every crazy idea and detail I had. She was literally amazing from the start of planning and even cleaning up after the wedding. She never missed a beat and was 100% focused on everything we asked for. Not only did my husband and I love her but so did our guests! She kept myself and my fun crazy family in line on timelines and to make sure everything was perfect. She was in contact with all of my vendors. (They have a preferred vendors list which I used their photographer, Steve Dutcher for video and photos that I highly recommend as well!)
Meghan made my wedding day so smooth and easy that if anything went wrong I still have no idea and she had it handled. She was so respectful and professional the entire process. Not only will you love the wedding tent and the venue itself, but on the biggest day of my life, I couldn't imagine a better wedding coordinator than Meghan :)
Last but not least, the food. We did our wedding tasting at this restaurant that is located on the property. It is called Convict Lake Restaurant. They take reservations and the beef wellington is the best! I had no idea how amazing their food was when we came to look at the venue! They catered our wedding and the food was so amazing, we went back everyday after the wedding! (We literally ate there 7 days straight).
We did our food tasting for the wedding with a group of brides and grooms and it was such a fun day! They had so many selections to choose from for the wedding packages you wont be disappointed. We also did a casual rehearsal dinner and their pizza is still getting 5 star reviews from my family! I promise you will not be disappointed with the food at all!
Finally, the wedding tent and ceremony site. The wedding tent itself is so beautiful. The ceremony took place in the aspen grove under the trees. It is close to some cabins so if you have some family or friends that have a hard time walking long distances, this is perfect for them. We live down in OC so hauling up stuff was easy for us but they also have another vendor that can do rentals and she is wonderful too. (Rummage Girl Weddings)
I promise to any future bride with a future husband that loves fishing or even outdoors as much as I do will love getting married at Convict Lake. It works for all budgets and they are so accommodating you will not be disappointed! -

Convict Lake Wedding
I have nothing but great things to say about Convict Lake Resort Weddings! Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and professional. From the very start of our planning all the way through, we got quick responses, plenty of info, lots of help and tons of support. Meghan made every step of the process super simple, and I would definitely come back just for all the help she gave us! Not only is the location beautiful, but all of the extra things like linens, tables, lights, etc., that Convict provided made everything that much better. The food was amazing, and everyone still tells us that it was the best food they've had at a wedding! (I definitely recommend the mini grilled cheeses as an appetizer) We did not have our ceremony at Convict, but we got some amazing pictures around the resort. Everyone on their staff was so friendly as well! We had the best time working with Convict Lake Weddings and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing venue! -

Phenomenal wedding at Convict Lake
We absolutely loved Convict Lake Resort! Our ceremony was held at Shale Beach and our reception at the tent. After the reception, we headed into the bar at Convict Lake Resort for late night pizza and drinks. Meghan, Mike and their staff ensured that we had a flawless day. Meghan and her team were amazing to work with and set up the tent beautifully. They completely understood our vision and handled all the last-minute items dropped off during the day. We saw the reception tent for the first time after the ceremony; it was all magnificent, her team did not miss a thing. The team was attentive to every guest’s needs and we were well taken care of by Mike and Meghan directly. Our wedding exceeded our expectations. -

The Best Venue in Mammoth
My husband and I are so happy we chose Convict Lake as our wedding venue! Our wedding was even better than what we could have imagined! The food was insanely good. The bartender kept our guests happy. And the place was decorated so beautifully. Their coordinator, Meghan, made everything so easy and stress-free. She is so accommodating to everything we wanted. And she made sure that everything seemed flawless. Meghan helped with coordinating our rehearsal, the after party (after the wedding) and a farewell breakfast that we planned for our guests as well. She really goes above and beyond.
One of the best things about Convict Lake Weddings is the location. It is surrounded by beautiful trees, mountains, and of course the lake. It is the perfect spot for photos.
Everyone who works at Convict Lake is so nice and accommodating. To say we had a good experience very is an understatement. It was the best wedding we ever went to (haha) and we would do it again in a heartbeat! -

Best day ever
We had our wedding at Convict Lake last weekend and it was the most perfect couple of days. It was so much better than we could have ever imagined. Not only is it absolutely beautiful, but Mike and Meghan are just incredible. They are the just kindest people and worked so hard to make sure everything leading up to and our actual wedding day was perfect. The entire process was so easy and so fun. The cabins are amazing, the food at the restaurant is delish, the general store has everything you need, and the location is just the happiest place on earth. We can't wait to go back and we are beyond happy we picked Convict Lake as our wedding venue. Thank you, Mike and Meghan!!! We love you! -

Dream Come True
I don't know if there is enough room here to let me talk about how great this venue and location is. First off, Meghan is a rock star. She knows what's going on and making sure everything is going as planned. We brought her some bins with things we wanted spread around the tent and she killed it. Not only did she set them up, but she tore them down and set them aside for us to pick up the next day. She treats you as if it was her own wedding going on. You are not just another wedding to her. Her communication is great, her organization and staff is great, and it completely takes the stress away from your wedding day to where you can just enjoy it. Next I want to thank Mike. I don't think he stopped smiling when we were around him. Mike bent over backwards to get the rehearsal dinner and breakfast set up to our liking and provided non stop service all night. every time I saw him he was always asking how everything is going and if there is anything we needed to let him know. The resort is clean and the remodeled cabins are 5 star. Thank you Mike and Meghan for making this day special and memorable. You killed it. -

Convict Lake is without a doubt one of the most stunning venues of all time. My entire wedding party and guests that attended were in complete awe! Not only is the venue a work of art but so is the incredible Meghan Gallagher, the wedding coordinator. Meghan was the most crucial person on my wedding day and all the months leading up to it. She is truly one of a kind, she always wrote back to my emails answering all my questions, no matter how small or silly they seemed (first wedding, who knows what to do!). My fiance (now husband ;)) and I are vegans and wanted a vegetarian wedding. Convict lake had never had a vegetarian wedding and Meghan made sure our wishes were met! She took it upon herself to coordinate with the chef what wonderful dishes he could create and serve, and my gosh did people rave about the food!! Not only was she able to secure a vegetarian array of food but secured two separate vegan dishes the chef made just for us. That shows just how much she pays attention to the couple, really wants the best you and your hearts desires. My wedding went off without a hitch, I've heard of brides crying and so overwhelmed on their wedding day, which no one should ever have to go through, and mine was beyond perfect in every way. The only tears I had were of joy and Meghan was instrumental in that. She has the most beautiful, bright energy and light around her and that will translate to your wedding. If you want the apex of your story to be majestic Meghan and Convict lake should be your first choice. Whoever reads this, I hope you have a beautiful, long lasting love and a majestic wedding of your dreams. -

I can't say enough about Meghan and her team at Convict Lake! They really know how to pull off a flawless and beautiful mountain wedding. Before the wedding, Meghan was so organized and really helped us pick amazing vendors. All of our guests were raving about the wedding tent, dinner (esp. the macadamia-crusted mahi mahi), and the cocktail hour. We had the best wedding weekend--can't recommend Convict Lake enough! -

Having the Ceremony and Reception in one location with amazing Cabins and top notch service it was far better than the other Mammoth Lakes venues. Once we met Meghan we knew this was where we were getting married. Leading up to the wedding Meghan made the planning and process so simple and was on top of everything. Come the day of the wedding Meghan once again was there on top of everything, we could not of asked for a better person to be in charge of the venue and planning.

Amanda Sent on 08/12/2018We were going to have a backyard wedding at my Aunt's home, but before we made a final decision we wanted to look at the venues around the area. Mammoth Mountain venues, while beautiful, were over our budget and not the complete "feel/vibe" we wanted. We were looking for a more natural/rustic venue with space for our large number of guests that would not break the bank (at least as best as we could get in "wedding world"). We had never known Convict Lake had a wedding venue/reception area until we stopped by to check it out. We are SO happy we contacted Mike and he referred us to the wedding coordinator Meghan for more information. We were able to schedule a tour with the coordinator, Meghan, of the entire property (cabins, reception area, ceremony sites, etc) no problem. Meghan and the team at Convict Lake were such a help through the entire process (from room blocks, meal/drink menus, seating arrangements, and rental upgrades, to day of coordination, etc). The new rehearsal tent/structure is far from a white circus-y tent that used to be on site. It has beautiful glass paneled windows around the entire structure, beautiful wood floors, and an awesome attached courtyard for cocktail hour. Those are just some of the amazing features (not including the hanging chandeliers and white ceiling drapes inside the tent string lights over the courtyard)! On top of that, the two location options for your wedding ceremony left us speechless! Pictures do not do the lake and trees justice. We went with the Shale Beach location and it alone (without decor) would still be a perfect sight. Meghan was there to answer all of our questions (there were very many) without hesitation and she was patient with our large amount of guests and wedding party. Thank you Meghan and Convict Lake for ALL of your help and having our special day at your gem, we truly wish we could do it all over again! We cannot wait to come back and visit Convict Lake in the future.

Karen Sent on 08/05/2018We would highly recommend Convict Lake, especially for adventurers looking to showcase the Sierras to their friends and family and encourage connection and conversation throughout the weekend (the benefit of everyone staying in one place). We loved the freedom and peace of mind of having so much taken care of for us (Meghan and her team are truly pros and handled so much that we weren't even stressed ). The venue is stunning, dance floor fun, and food delicious. Mt. Morrison made for the perfect lodging and hang out spot for friends. Oh and if you're getting married, stay in the Minaret Cabin!

The place for one, brides if you are looking... book AMAZING place, with amazing views, ran so smooth, on time they were positive, professional the food was impressive. I do this for a living and its rare that Im as pleased as I was from this place and you guys !!! the views are insane.

Emily Sent on 11/11/2017We worked primarily with Meghan, the onsite event coordinator, but Mike was very friendly and helpful as well. Meghan was such a pleasure to work with. She was always calm and confident in our meetings with her, which made us feel relaxed that everything was going to go smoothly on the big day, and it did!!! I kept waiting for something to go wrong (because I heard too many bride horror stories in general that something always happens...), but everything was perfect! Meghan cares so much she even came to find me the morning of the wedding to ask me about a table decor decision because she wasn't sure if it was what I had envisioned. She knows the Convict Lake Resort inside and out and provided helpful guidance and tips throughout the process. CLR and Meghan were also super accommodating about a few special touches we wanted-- like a coffee cart and a homemade photo booth. Convict Lake is SUCH a gorgeous place to get married, and Meghan is a true professional and a great person. If you want a stunningly beautiful, flexible, and intimate wedding venue (our 90 guest event somehow still felt cozy in the best of ways!), this is your place! -
