Complete Wedding and Events DJ and Photography Services
Sky and Dennis were amazing! They made our special day a complete success and were so flexible when things came up that none of us were expecting. I am so grateful they were in charge of the photography and DJ services. Dennis was incredibly out-going and did an amazing job keeping the guests engaged and interested. When many of my guests were leaving towards the end of the night, Dennis kept the party going while we cleaned up and it was like I had my own private DJ dance session for those last few songs. He brought these light up wands that the kids were over-the-moon about, and everyone had a blast waving them around on the dance floor. Sky did an absolutely fantastic job with the photos! She truly has an amazing gift with photography. She captured everything I wanted and then some! We were not a very organized bridal party, and I even had a groomsman and bridesmaid arrive late, but Sky kept rolling with the punches. She had quick thinking and somehow captured so much joy in every single photo. I am so grateful I chose Complete Wedding and Events and I will continue to recommend them to others in the future! Complete Weddings + Events is an amazing company and we highly recommend them! The photographer Lena and videographers Greg and Graham did an amazing job, and the DJ John was awesome and ran everything so smoothly. There were no hiccups and they helped us have an amazing wedding night. We also highly recommend Alex as a wedding coordinator. We booked Complete for our wedding Photography, Videography, and DJ services. Every single vendor was absolutely incredible to work with and I got multiple compliments on them from my guests. Karen was our photographer- who also did our engagement shots- and Lindsey was our second shooter that mainly worked with my husband and his groomsmen that day. Both did amazing and were thorough with all of the shots that we wanted. I can't wait to see them!Bernard was our videographer and was very nice and professional and captured all of our special moments. Zaydrian was our DJ and was an absolute blast. He brought a second DJ with him who was training who also did an amazing job and added so much fun to the crowd. Zay did fantastic emceeing the whole night and kept our timeline on track. I am really so blown away with the service that Complete Weddings & Events provided. I never had to worry about anything on my special day. We utilized the videography and dj services with Complete Weddings. DJ Steve did an incredible job and everyone gave lots of compliments of how good the music was. He was also very hospitable and offered to get our food and beverages. He made sure we stayed on schedule as well. Geoff was our videographer and even though we haven't gotten our video back yet, he was a pleasure to work with. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and captured many moments we will cherish forever! -

No worries!
Our contracted DJ bailed on us just a few months before my daughter’s wedding, and I panicked because the wedding was in an area with few vendors, and I knew that they were already booked. I figured that finding someone at that late date meant travel expenses on top of regular costs and that our budget would be blown, but I had no choice. Not to worry! After sending out multiple inquiries on The Knot (yep, most of them were already booked), Justin eased all of my concerns. Not only did he quote us an extremely reasonable price, but he was always super responsive and helpful. He sent us Khadi, a DJ who had no trouble setting up the sound for the outdoor ceremony plus all of the equipment for the indoor hotel reception. In preparation, Khadi reached out with plenty of time to get the couple's requests and detailed wishes. I should add that he played the Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive" so my 96-year-old mom and 91-year-old aunt could steal the show on the dance floor. Our guests all commented on what a great job he did. He kept the reception rocking, which made it so much fun and a glorious night to remember. To think of the energy I wasted on worrying… I wish I’d started with Complete Weddings in the first place. -

Dennis was everything we wanted and more from our DJ! He took care of all the sound/music details for the ceremony. We selected what we wanted and Dennis made it happen! And then when it came time for the reception, Dennis kept the party going! From a fabulous entrance through until the last song, he kept us on the dance floor. During dinner, he even went around to the tables to give our guests request slips. Oh, and if you want help breaking the ice to encourage your guests to dance, I highly recommend the snowball dance- Dennis recommended it and our guests LOVED IT! John was very pleasant to work with. He is professional and had a great sense of humor. We loved how organized he was and his experience with small weddings was the perfect fit for us. We had a few different songs for the bridal party entrance to the wedding and those change overs were smooth. The songs during the wedding were also on point. My dad and I had a surprise mash up dance for our daddy daughter dance. John helped take the combination I had created and turned it into the mash up with smooth transitions.
Each couple of the bridal party entered the reception to a different song of their choice, and John picked the perfect 15 seconds of each song to play for this! Overall, he was a wonderful MC and DJ for our wedding. Would hire him again!!Complete Weddings + Events Grand Rapids's reply:

We used Complete Weddings for our Photographer, Day-Of Coordinator, ceremony/reception DJ and photo booth. This is a wonderful company and they are all wonderful human beings! Rachelle, Dyani, Alex, John and Dan were all so nice and helpful, they really made our day! They went above and beyond both before our day and at the wedding. We had calls with all of them to ensure that they knew what we wanted and Alex provided great recommendations for our other vendors. We had to use a different photographer for our wedding than we used for our engagement photos but they made sure the transition was seamless and we were taken care of. At our wedding, they chatted with our guests and even snuck a photo booth picture into our guestbook which was a nice surprise! I cannot imagine having my wedding with any other vendor. We planned our wedding in 6 months right after moving (like lunatics) & I had booked our DJ services through Complete. I last minute booked Amanda for our Coordinator because I was in a panic, and didn't want the process to involve being upset at our wedding party for any resulting failures.
In comes Amanda to the rescue! She was the calm and cool presence I needed during the planning process, who organized our schedule very much based on what we wanted. She also helped with many reminders/details we hadn't even thought to consider.
On the day she worked her butt off every minute! If anything came up, she was already handling it. She was a blast to work with and is incredibly great at what she does.
The DJ: It just so happens we had just been to a wedding prior in which the DJ played songs requests from guests over text, which sounded like a good idea in theory- but we felt that the actual execution of that felt very disjointed. That's why when we met with Rob and quickly noticed his extensive knowledge base/experience-- we basically just told him the feel of things we were going for, and let him take the reins.
This was another one of the best decisions we made-- he was amazing! He made everything flow perfectly throughout the evening, without any awkward vibes/pauses. He also was a great director in leading speeches, games, etc for us (My easily distracted self needs that!)
We had SO many compliments on him by guests, it was a big dance party for everyone of all ages. "Your DJ was AWESOME"

Literally everything about Complete was amazing.I was initially concerned getting most of our vendors through the same company - I was worried that since they're all connected, if one thing went wrong that it would affect everything else.
Not only did nothing go wrong, everyone really brought their all and made it a unique and wonderful experience that I don't think would have been possible if I had gone the traditional route and piece-mealed my vendors.
First off, Alex, our day-of coordinator, was a blessing. Holy cow. My husband and I are both very laid-back people with very few demands, but that also means that we didn't consider a LOT of things that go into a wedding and so we had a lot of anxiety going in because we didn't know what was expected of us and we didn't have much of a guiding plan beyond color schemes and a few things we wanted. Alex helped guide us through the process with a few conversations. Very casual, very informative and VERY reassuring, Alex was easy to bounce ideas off of and I never felt like I was bothering her when I had questions or concerns. She was instrumental in coordinating our vendors who were outside Complete and with her help, the day went by so incredibly smooth!
Our photographer Kaitlin (who I understand is no longer doing photo work with Complete, but I wanted to give her a shoutout anyway!) was a total boss! She was great at giving directions and was extremely patient with us (we had a lot of jitters on the day of and neither of us were thinking clearly or quickly as we got closer to ceremony time haha). It started absolutely POURING right as we were about to take photos and we ended up finding a dry spot and taking some gorgeous photos anyway! She just went with the flow and really made us comfortable in front of the camera -- a major feat for my husband who hates having his photo taken.
Our photo booth operator Jessica was awesome! She was super fun to talk to when I was briefly able to, and she had the photobooth running all night. It was a surprise hit! Our guests LOVED the booth and the non-traditional guest book that came along with it. I will absolutely treasure all these goofy pictures of our favorite people and I'm so grateful we had someone as relaxed and knowledgeable as Jessica to make sure that it all went off so well
Our DJ was Ralph and he was a hoot and a half! There was a tiny snaffu in ceremony music - my fault, I didn't recognize the song at first in rehearsal since the precessional and bridal entrance songs were very similar and both instrumental. PLUS we didn't say anything until after the rehearsal (which was maybe 15 minutes before the ceremony -- our choice) so, definitely an easy mistake to make, and we don't hold it against him! He made everything so fun though, he was obviously very comfortable on a mic and around people. He interacted with our guests, was great with requests, had a fabulous mix of music -- I don't think I heard a single song I didn't know or didn't like, and we had EVERYONE on the dance floor at one point or another.
We had an absolute ALL STAR team and we could not have asked for anyone better to help us with our special day! I have a few folks gearing up for proposals and wedding planning who have all asked for our vendor details and I will absolutely be recommending Complete.
If you want your special day to go better than you could ever expect, check these folks out, you will NOT regret it!

We hired Brittany of Completewedo, every guest raved about the amazing DJ!
Courtney assisted and was kind and considerate and fun.
The experience was fun, friendly, and professional. They played great music and got the crowd involved. I would highly recommend Brittany to anyone planning their wedding!

Steve and Complete DJ were absolutely fantastic to work with! They were so professional, so much fun and yet so flexible at the same time! They were extremely communicative throughout the entire process. Steve was able to keep our guests on the dance floor the entire night! We had a lot of changes on our Wedding day and Steve was able to roll with the punches and find the best way to make everything work!! We initially booked a DJ through Complete Weddings + Events before COVID for our November wedding. As a result of everything that's happened this year, we ultimately had to cancel their service, but this has been an excellent company to work with!
Alex was always incredibly responsive to our questions (even the seemingly silly ones!), and so kind and understanding when we ultimately decided to cancel. They let us know what our options were going forward and we never had a moment of unease or uncertainty about the process.
We're truly disappointed that we were unable to go through with our services with Complete, and we'd highly recommend them to other looking for wedding services!Complete Weddings + Events Grand Rapids's reply:

We were lucky to get a recommendation from our hotel for Steve from Complete Wedding and Events. He did such a great job, and had plenty of suggestions to help make the night fun. For our reception, he suggested doing the shoe game as well as an auction dance, and both of these turned out to be a lot of fun. He was very active during the reception, even coming out on the dance floor during group dance songs such as the cupid shuffle to help show people what to do. He made the night so fun, and kept things running smoothly. We were so happy with the level of energy he helped bring to the dance floor. -

Alex did an amazing job with the photo booth at our daughter's wedding. She had to move everything at the last minute related to weather and was so upbeat and professional! DJ Robbie and Sincere, our photo booth operator, were great all night! They kept everyone on the dance floor and entertained all night long. They were responsive to requests, helped everyone through icebreaker dances, and were great to work with. John was a wonderful host and DJ to have. He was easy to communicate with and personable. Lindsey Sent on 02/07/2012I thought CMV did a nice job filming our wedding ceremony and reception. The videographer was not in the way nor was she bothersome in any way during the busy day. I have not seen the video yet, will update when I do. I wish I would have been a bit more specific so she could have got some video footage of the bridesmaids and groomsmen getting ready seperately.

Highly recommend Complete for their amazing customer service but I would also like to specifically recommend our DJ, Marcus. SO many compliments from guests.
Our caterer was supposed to dismiss tables but, like many other instances, this wasn’t communicated within their team. We didn’t even ask Marcus to do this for us but he jumped right on in. He not only dismissed tables but he made a fun Q&A game out of it to get guests interacting. Whenever the party started to relax a little, he’d play a song or add in another little game/“event” to bring the energy back. Marcus was so attentive and amazing. I want to start off by saying that Alex, the coordinator was fantastic and so responsive to anything I needed throughout my wedding planning. She would get back to me right away whenever I contacted her and was so helpful!
Now for the bad...
Our dj (Rob) was extremely hard to communicate with, as he has another 3rd shift job and missed a few of our scheduled phone meetings. He arrived at the wedding venue 45 minutes later than expected because of some technical difficulties- get it, it happens. But he did not call to inform me of this, I was the one that had to reach out to him to see where he was. We were told by several people while we were off doing photos, that he had fallen asleep behind his dj table multiple times because he had worked all night.... I was shocked when I was notified of this. Very disappointed in this and the fact that our dj that could not stay awake for his job. He ended up apologizing and perking up a bit throughout the night which we appreciated and we understand he has another job, but we are paying for a service and for this person to literally be the life of the party and he was less than what we expected. -

Our DJ, Joe had my husband call me 2 minutes before my ceremony because he didn’t know what songs were to be played after explaining them to him several times. Instead of fading out the ceremony songs (which is what we had discussed) he abruptly ended each song. For my exit ceremony song, I wanted it to fade in at a specific point in the song; instead he played it from the beginning. Ceremony music was a complete and total disappointment and not what I had imagined.
When we sat down at the head table for the reception and were getting ready for speeches, Joe just hands the mic right to my sister without even announcing that speeches were about to begin which made it awkward for her. He played the snowball song at the beginning of dancing which we weren’t planning on or wanting to do. When he decided to play the anniversary song it was too late in the night and all the older couples had already left so we decided to cut that out. He started announcing a garter toss even though we had told him at our meeting that wouldn’t be happening which made it super awkward. He also dressed in a very loud turquoise button up with a vest 2 sizes too small, not professional at all.
Because of Joe’s poor service we didn’t feel the need to leave him a tip at the end of the night. Early the next morning he simply texts me his PayPal expecting a tip.
After bringing up these issues to Justin, the manager, he simply stated that Joe was having an “off day unfortunately at our expense”. Since it was at our expense and I don’t feel we got the quality service we paid for, I requested a partial refund and have not received any sort of reply. Jenna Sent on 09/24/2016Seriously the worst customer service experience I have ever had, not with the staff, but with the owner. I had originally booked COMPLETE as the photographer, videographer, DJ, and Photobooth for my wedding, and had a less than positive experience regarding the quality of our engagement photos, and called to explain my frustration and disappointment. Not only did the owner refuse to consider a reasonable compromise, but he proceeded to yell at, berate, and threaten me until I was sobbing and experiencing severe panic attacks.
At no point was an apology given, but instead, the owner threatened to cancel my contract, which eventually I agreed to. Between the time I had initially called and when I had agreed to the cancellation of our contract, I had posted a review on a local Facebook bridal group; this resulted in a harassing voicemail from the owner, where I was met with veiled threats of a lawsuit based on my honest review of my experience.
I do not recommend doing business with them, not because of the staff, but because of what I would consider the extremely unprofessional behavior of the owner.
