Beautiful venue
We chose this venue for our recent wedding and I cannot say enough about how beautiful and charming this park is. Hidden away, you would never know it's even at the park. Would definitely recommend for anyone. -

We had an amazing venue and experience with Mecklenburg Parks. We used the beautiful arbor behind Lake Pointe Hall for our ceremony and the hall for our reception. It was very spacious and they set-up the tables and chairs for us inside. We rented chairs from a third party to use outside. We booked 2 days, so we could set-up the day before. The rangers were friendly and helpful. You can't find a better venue in the Charlotte area for the price! We highly recommend! Contact us if you have questions... robandjenny2018@gmail.com-

We had our wedding in the pagoda and the reception in Lake Pointe Hall. It was beautiful!! The lake provides a background for amazing pictures. You can't beat the cost and you are allowed to have your own caterer. If you get a wine and beer permit you can bring your own beer and wine. It was perfect for what we wanted. -

We were a little worried in the beginning because we found it slightly hard to reach someone to reserve our date. However, once we found out how to work their system, it was wonderful! Everyone was very helpful - even dealing with me changing our reservation time a few times and when that became confusing they made follow-up calls. They set up the chairs and tables for us and helped me a lot with how to arrange that. They were there right when they were supposed to be to open the building and to close the building and the site was absolutely GORGEOUS. You really couldn't ask for a more beautiful spot for the price. -

The park was absolutely beautiful. They made sure that every thing was ready before the other vendors arrived. You get to arrange the tables in the hall yourself and then send it in a week before the event and they set it up for you. Then when you leave you take down any decorations and take out the trash and they do the rest. They have a kitchen that you can also use which was very useful for my mom and aunt who prepared all the food. The Park was very helpful. The power had gone out the day of my wedding and they were very prompt in finding the problem and fixing it. -

Great phone interview
The representative that answered the phone was excellent with answering questions and giving me all available information! So far the experience is going great! -

They were awesome for the most part! They set the tables and chairs up for you and will change them without asking. Getting someone to call you back was a little hard and one person said we could use a 4-wheeler for pictures and when we pulled up in the with the 4-wheeler in the truck, the other lady told us no way can we have it. Kind of frustrating. Overall, the place was beautiful! The outside is wonderful, you have a lot of options inside and outside for decorations!! -

There is no place better for the value. We are so excited to see our photo's.
Pro's - price and value
Con's - People (RUDE) for some reason felt it necessary to fish while we were exchanging our vows. Luckily our photographer was not shy and requested them to move. Other than that, you have to be forgiving and low key to get over the bathrooms. The service for the most part was good but I would have liked the grass to be mowed before the wedding and getting a response on that was not the best. Again, the cost was great and I have to say...it was by far a beautiful serene place at a great cost. If you have wonderful family and friends and can ask for the help...you will be great. Our wedding was beautiful, I will post pictures ASAP to share to all of the soon - to be - brides. -

I had my ceremony and reception at Lake Pointe Hall. This venue is beautiful, especially in the spring/summer when everything is blooming around the archway. We had about 100 people, our ceremony was outside by the lake and reception was inside of the hall. It was a bit cramped in the building with that many people so I wouldn't recommend it for a group over 100. The building has gorgeous exposed beams and the floor is new (as of 2018) and looks great. It's reasonably priced too, as long as you are a resident in the county. However you have to rent the park through the Mecklenburg County Parks and Rec department, and they were not the easiest to work with. It was really hard to get ahold of anyone in the department at times and they were often short with me on the phone. Helping brides is either not a priority or just not something they're trained very well on. There was also a pretty strict alcohol limit based on the number of people, and you are not allowed to bring any of the chairs or tables that belong to the venue outside onto the archway area. Also they do not have any sort of clean up crew and they don't mark off the area very well to keep park visitors out. If you're willing to work around those inconveniences, the venue is pretty enough to make up for it! -

DIY weddings for cheapish
The venue itself is beautiful and cost efficient. Everything is 100% DIY. From set up to break down. there are a lot of rules and some things we were not made aware of until a month prior to our event. The alcohol was very limited and when my now husband went to pick up the liquor license he was made to feel like a horrible person when he questioned things. So we went to a second location where the woman was much nicer and understanding. There is little to no communication between park rangers and office staff. We were told that we could or couldn’t do something but an office person and then the park ranger would say or even suggest the opposite. There is no clock in the building so losing track of time is very easy to do. Park rangers are very nice.
Keep in mind it is a public park and the public can be rude. Our wedding was in April we rented chair and had them set up at the arch by the lake in the middle of our ceremony there was prom goers taking photos along the lake not in view which is totally ok. But once we went into the hall we had people moving the chairs so they could take photos with our stuff. So that’s just something to be aware of. Even though there are signs up everywhere that it’s a private event people will disregard the sign.
Overall I’d do it again. But I do feel they should hire someone with a background in weddings if this is something they are going to continue to host. It would be beneficial for everyone involved. And all staff should be on the same page about everything. -

the customer service is horrible at best, the place is gorgeous , if you can make a monday-wed. 5pm showing of the venue or luck out an the building is open those are the two options for seeing the place before hand
the place it great the ceremony site is wonderful
if you can deal with the lack of customer service an the fact that you can not get in before your start time to set up its ok.
thank god i had alot of help an lucked out -

I had the location reserved from 10:30am to 4:30pm. 10:30 came and went, 11 did too. Finally at 11:25 my bridesmaid called a number that someone answered and they said they would be there in 20 minutes to open the hall. At noon, they FINALLY opened it.
Their explanation was that temps were covering and had set the hall up, but it was not on the schedule to open it. So not only did I lose time with my photographers, but the food sat cold for over an hour and a half. As well as all my guests had to pitch in to get the place set up, rather than it being done when they got there. Luckily I have great friends and family who worked it out in record time.
I found the late opening completely inexcusable, inconsiderate and unacceptable. I have contacted the regional manager and they are supposed to be returning 70% of what I paid to rent the place. While the hall and the location are beautiful, I recommend being wary of booking this place for such an important event!!! -
