Comfortable and Customizable Venue

I am writing to acknowledge the outstanding day of wedding services provided by Coconut Cove. We had guests coming from across the country and from abroad and all were treated very well.

The wedding was executed flawlessly. Paul provided a good template for the wedding, which we were then able to customize through use of our own officiant and external vendors (we used our own DJ and photographer). We got our cake via Paul’s recommendation and the food they provided was great…all guests were happy. The space was really transformed by all the flowers and curtains which were exactingly organized by their personnel. We had about 70 total people in attendance and the space was great for a wedding of that size.

The day after our wedding, as we began to pack up, we were offered a complimentary night so that we could take our time packing up. We thought that was a great gesture.

My husband and I got married here in October, we only had a couple guests and no reception. It was perfect, staff was enthused and eager to help, pictures were amazing due to beautiful views!

My wife and I got married 03/05/16 at beautiful Coconut Cove Resort & Marina! We checked out multiple locations in the Florida Keys, but Coconut Cove was our #1 choice. Coconut Cove has beautiful views, is a unique wedding venue, perfect wedding destination, and relaxing true Keys style!! Magda (owner/wedding planner) was wonderful & very helpful, flowers were perfect, setting was fantastic, food was delicious, and the decorations were beautiful! If you want your family and friends to experience a true Keys atmosphere dream wedding, Coconut Cove is a must!!! The romantic beach ceremony will make your wedding something you will never forget, along with the fireworks we added on, a real crowd pleaser.
I highly recommend booking all the rooms on the property, I believe there is only about 20 rooms as it allowed you & your guest to have your own private oasis/resort for the day before and night of the wedding at least allowing you to party uninterrupted as late as you want. I would HIGHLY recommend Coconut Cove Resort and Marina for any wedding! It is an unforgettable experience for a destination wedding.

My husband and I got married 11/4/16 at beautiful Coconut Cove! Magda was wonderful, flowers were perfect, setting was fantastic, food was delicious, and the decorations were beautiful! There was not one thing I would have changed about our wedding! Magda made everything run so smoothly that I just relaxed and took it all in! I would highly recommend this venue! No one in the keys will make you feel as special as these wonderful people. Very professional & fun! All of the vendors were great as well! Thanks for everything!! Everyone who attended said it was the best wedding they had ever been to!

We started looking for a venue a year prior to our date. We checked out four locations in Islamorada and Coconut Cove was our first stop. To be honest, it should have been our last stop too. I knew the second I walked up to the property, it was the one. Add the Jimmy Buffett music playing in the background, the water fall in the background, the sky turning pinkish purple as the sun was going down and the cold Miller Lite she placed in my hand, I was sold. We never regretted making this our venue, not once. Since we were in Maryland trying to plan a wedding in Florida, we needed a venue that was pretty much all inclusive. Coconut Cove is basically a one stop shop for weddings. Magda and Paul Bates along with Patti made it so easy to plan everything. The prices for all of the details are sent to you so you know how much to budget for everything. Although the real total doesn't come in until they send you the REV-3 which is about two weeks prior to the wedding, you can estimate what it's going to cost along the way so you have a pretty close idea. They really take care of it all, cake, decorations, flowers, alcohol, food, photography, officiant, music, anything you could possibly want, they will make it happen. My husband and I were lucky enough to come down prior to the wedding and not only have a sit down with Magda to go over everything but we were able to to do our cake tasting and even sample some of the wedding food and also see a preview of what is considered "the surprise". If you have it in your finances to do the "surprise", DO IT! We did and our guests can't stop talking about it. It really sets your wedding apart from others and makes for unbelievable photos. Magda was there the whole way holding my hand at every step. Paul was our officiant and Patti was even one of the bartenders for the reception. All of our guests had an unbelievable time and were amazed at how transformed the resort was. We cannot thank everyone there enough!!

To plan the perfect destination wedding at this unique venue, be sure to visit and sit down with the owner/wedding planner, Magda. Communicate your wishes and style and trust her to deliver the goods. Magda exceeded our expectations on details such as the perfect bouquet, decor, and photography. The ability to have the welcome/rehearsal party outdoors and also at the venue was an additional plus. Food and service were excellent; staff was unobtrusive but responsive. Although a bit dated, accommodations are moderately-priced and convenient for a wedding party to stay together and enjoy the beautiful pool and surrounds. This venue with one-stop shopping is perfect for the couple who wants to create their own memories!

My husband and I are so happy we picked Coconut Cove Resort & Marina for our special day. Everything was amazing from the decorations to the food, they are very flexible as well as I wanted to bring my own centerpieces, everyone worked with me to make sure we were happy and also suggested ideas when we could make a decision. Coconut Cove is so much more than a wedding venue in the Fishing Capitol of the World. This magical, oceanside beach front was the perfect setting for the best day of my life (to date)! I highly recommend booking all the rooms as it allowed us to have our own private oasis for the day before and night of the wedding allowing us to party uninterrupted to 2-3 AM! The pool was a spectacular hit with both adults and the few kids that made the wedding and I perk that I didn't know I (the bride) would use DAILY as a place to unwind, catch some rays, and sip a cocktail. Some of my favorite cameo pictures taken by friends and family, are in that pool! The Marlin Room in the big house is also a fantastic add on that was used for my 6 maids, 2 flower girls, mother of the bride, and mother of the groom to get ready in and share a mimosa bar the day of the wedding.

Besides location, Magda worked wonders to ensure that all my wedding dreams came true. She was patient in helping me to figure out colored napkins and sashes were what I wanted and worth the investment of curtains and tropical plants in the reception area to offset it. She helped bring to life an all star menu that my fam/friends raved about for days afterward; she helped compile all my scattered flower ideas into a beautiful floral arrangement for the bouquets/boutenieers/head table/down to the color of the flower petals thrown; she was the most amazing photographer that my seasoned wedding guests were awestruck by her ability to capture stellar photographs while not being seen during the ceremony (I can only find her in the rehearsal photos the day before!) She is an expert, worthy of greater recognition than I could give here. I highly recommend her services: wedding planner, decor consultant, florist, photographer, organizer of bridal party, and the one person you can absolutely trust to get things not only done, but DONE RIGHT on your wedding day. I am so happy with how everything turned out at my wedding at Coconut Cove. Magda and Paul make it so easy to plan everything with step-by-step guidelines that walk you through everything you need to think about. I also love how many services they offer in-house like photography, flowers, cake, catering, fireworks, DJ, wedding planning, etc. that it makes the whole process much easier - no need to juggle and co-ordinate between multiple vendors. Coconut Cove does it all!

I had an Indian/Hindu wedding with multiple events that required a lot of customizing. Magda held my hand throughout the planning process and was unbelievably flexible with everything. She had no problem accommodating my many special requests, and was so friendly, pleasant, and professional throughout. Overall, the wedding turned out so beautifully - the guests were so impressed with the location and decor. Magda convinced me to add fireworks to the event and I am so glad she did because it added an extra level of magic and a month later, our guests are still talking about it! I also highly recommend Magda's photography - she has a great eye for detail and capturing the candid special little moments.

Overall it was such a beautiful experience. With Coconut Cove, you get the cozy feel of working with a small family run business, with all the professionalism and expertise of a big company. Thank you Magda, Paul, and Patty for an unforgettable weekend that we will cherish forever!

They made our wedding so above and beyond our expectations. They transform the resort into a tropical dreamland with a smile. All of the staff was so accommodating, helpful and friendly. Magda made the most beautiful bridal and bridesmaid flowers I have ever seen. You want to have your wedding here--do not look any further! Only one caution, if you want your guests to stay before or after your room block dates make sure to have them book immediately or the rooms will fill up.
Overall, we are still smiling ear to ear over how amazing our wedding was. The first dance fireworks were the star moment of the night, a memory we and our guests will never forget! Thank you so much to Magda, Paul, Patti, and the rest of the fantastic staff for making our weekend truly the best ever!

The owners of this resort, Paul & Magda, and their pleasant staff, including Patty, really got the whole wedding gig perfected. We not only booked the resort for the wedding event, but we also used Magda’s florist and photo services. Being that this resort in in Islamorada Florida and my husband and I live in Orlando Florida, it was a little nerve racking for me to trust the venue to put on a good show. However when you do not have the opportunity to make more than one face to face meeting, trust is all you can do. So trust I did, and it sure paid off. Everything was perfect, from our arrival 2 days before the wedding all the way through our departure 2 days after the wedding. They really made us feel like the resort was our home away from home. We had free reign of all of the facilities and being that most of our guests booked up the entire resort worth of rooms, it truly felt like we were at home. They even left out most of the decorations after the actual wedding so we could enjoy them the remainder of our stay. It truly felt like a “wedding weekend”. As for the actual event, Magda made sure everything went smoothly as our wedding coordinator, while at the same time working as our personal photographer…I don’t know how she pulls this off! She is one of the sweetest, most professional and organized people I have ever met and I am extremely grateful that I got the opportunity to work with her for my wedding. Paul’s officiant services were amazing and flowed very well. Patty, the office manager, made sure everything with the rooms for our guests was taken care of and then moonlighted as one of our bartenders during the reception. This was a pleasant surprise. She made sure my husband and I got an hor d’oeuvre plate and drinks in between cocktail hour pictures; I didn’t think I would ever see those appetizers so I was very pleased with this. They treated us like family, always working with us as if we were the only wedding they were doing that year. My eighty year old parents loved their room location, commenting that they enjoyed being at ground level, and having an outdoor space to enjoy. Indeed, they quickly became the "go to spot" for all guests; who gathered for drinks, snacks and even a key lime pie contest! Many of our guests, experienced travelers who enjoy fine dining on their trips, commented that the food was equal to a five star restaurant; and the reception area felt the same. They marveled at the fine linens & decor, while just a chair turn away they were gazing at the Atlantic Ocean. AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, were words used and heard often. My favorite guest comment? "You made Pintrest come alive!" Like any wedding, there were a few bumps in the road. NONE of the bumps were related to the venue. It was the calm professionalism of Magda, and her staff, that smoothed every bump along the way. No yellowtail for the buffet? Paul personally made the phone calls necessary to ensure we had the fresh yellowtail we were looking forward to for the wedding. Dress alterations a disaster? Magda calls a seamstress, takes us to her home at 10pm, and the dress is done to perfection by 2pm the next day! Photographer not performing as hoped for? Magda picks up a camera, and begins taking photographs herself. From hand-painting the wood lanterns white, to custom creating mason jar vases for the flowers- to match our wedding colors, the Bates family paid careful attention to every detail. I can not thank them enough for everything they did, to make our wedding both unique and memorable. We ESPECIALLY LOVED the "special surprise"!!! WORTH EVERY PENNY... A MUST INCLUDE OPTION to make your wedding special!!! :-)

Just had our wedding last weekend at coconut cove and we are still hearing from our guests that it was the best wedding they've ever been to. They exceeded our expectations in every way. My wedding was everything I imagined and more. Magda walked me through every specific detail and relaxed me every time I felt myself turning into a Bridezilla. When they say your own private resort it is so true. My guests felt that it was completely private for our wedding party. It allowed for everyone to enjoy themselves knowing they were a step away from their rooms. Magda was also very accommodating and helped me in every detail not just on the wedding day. When we first met she said she is not happy until she hears guests say "This was the best wedding I have ever attended", she must have been overjoyed at mine because that is all we heard througout our stay. Plus another couple was so inspired by my wedding ceremony (which was amazing) that they decided to marry the next day. Thank you Magda and Paul.

Dale and I would like to say thank you so very much for everything and making our wedding day just perfect. You two (Paul and Magda) were such a pleasure to work with during the last year in preparing for our special day. We could not have been more pleased with everything (well it could have been a little less windy) and the two of you outdid yourselves. When I returned to my office my bosses had told everyone about the day and especially the fireworks and what a special touch that was for everyone, considering we told no one about them. Actually one of our guests thought we were going swimming! From the flowers to the decorations to the food, everything was amazing. We were so glad that we chose Coconut Cove for our wedding day and will highly recommend you and Coconut Cove to anyone we know getting married in the future. Everyone has said that this will be the most memorable wedding for them and one of the best that they had ever been to because it was so relaxed, the weather was beautiful and it went off without a hitch! We cannot wait to see the photos that Magda took in the coming weeks. We will definitely stop in next February when we are in town, as we have already booked for 2015! This is the best place to have a destination wedding!!!! They did a perfect job making my wedding the best day ever!!! The cake was awesome! The food and decorations were amazing! Amazing wedding, amazing people!! Paul, Magda and Patti were the most loving and helpful people to work with. To top it off our kids had the best time of their life playing and getting to know Paul and Magda's children. It was such a blessing. I was sick the entire time but they just took care of everything and made us feel so special. The place transforms before your eyes and it is just magical. I am just speechless. Paul and Magda provided us a totally "stress-free" wedding!! Talk about having the world at your fingertips!! Scott and I had seen about 15 different sites in the Keys, and all the other places had strict "do-not" lists or were so out of our budget it wasn't even funny. Coconut Cove had EVERYTHING we wanted, and if they didn't, they knew someone who could provide it. I strongly suggest booking the resort (20 rooms) so you can have full run of the facilities without disturbing other guests. The food, bar, decorations, photos (sunset wedding is a MUST...great pics done by Magda who knows all the spots), officiant (Paul rocks!!!), DJ, flowers, make-up/hair, everything was top notch!!! They have book that you can look through to customize everything and a check-list to make sure you get what you want.

The only downside I experienced (call me practical), was the "Honeymoon suite". Don't get me wrong, the bathroom is BEAUTIFUL, however it is a huge tub with a short hose shower (you have to squat to shower... kinda had to shave your legs for the big night) with no curtain... can we say goosebumps? The staff provided us left-overs in the mini fridge (cause who can eat at your own wedding??) but didn't leave a note to let us know. Also, get with your bridesmaids to ask them to prepare the suite for the wedding night, because that was overlooked... Last thing you want is to do as a new bride is clean up all the stuff you threw around the room from getting ready for your big day...

Planning a wedding is stressful and intimidating, but Paul & Magda Bates of Coconut Cove Resort were a BLESSING to work with! It wasn't until we were driving down the keys and I was running 10 min late for the rehearsal that I realized I totally can let my guard down with these people. I was stressed and called Paul to let him know. He was so calm and understanding and told me the rehearsal started when I got there. It was at that moment I realized 100% how supportive and trustworthy they were! They have our best interests in mind! The main reason I chose Coconut Cove is because I did not want to deal with all the little things. They deal with the cake vendor, linens, etc leaving me to pick and choose with simple ease and fun! On the flipside, when we came up with ideas that we wanted that weren't necessarily the norm, they worked with us to make our special day the best possible. Also, when I searched other wedding venues/coordinators, they hid all their prices! They would make you call and set up an appointment. For a bride on a budget, I did not like how other vendors "hide" their prices and lure you in. Not with Coconut Cove....ALL their prices are up front on their website!! This is great so you don't waste your time or theirs! You can easily do the calculating and know for sure what you will be paying. I doubt it is this way with most other places! There were so many positive, wonderful things about our wedding with Coconut Cove. I couldn't possibly list them all! They really know how to put together a wedding FLAWLESSLY including all the little details most people don't think about. As a girl, I always dreamed of wedding things like a beautiful beach setting, fireworks, etc but I never dreamed I could afford it. At Coconut Cove, you can!! Our guests had so much fun. Many will tell you it is the best wedding they've ever been to! If you want posh and uptight, this isn't the place. But if you want beautiful, relaxed, and fun...check them out.

had a fantastic wedding at coconut cove. my husband and i went and previewed the location, put a deposit down and went one other time during the year. everything was done via email and Paul and Magda couldn't have been more accommodating then they were. it was so nice to be able to communicate and not feel bad if i wanted to change anything up until two weeks before the wedding. will be recommending this resort for years to come!

I can truly say having my wedding at Coconut Cove was the best idea ever! If you’re not sure well let me tell you how AWESOME our experience was! From day 1 Paul and Magda made the planning process as easy as possible (the questionnaire was a life saver!) and the whole event was only limited by my imagination! Paul, Magda and the whole Coconut Cove team went into action. Paul was on top of all the pre-planning and Magda was my go to person the weekend of the wedding. They took my idea and made it into a dream come true. We had just about all our guest stay at the resort for the weekend and I highly suggest anyone having their wedding at the resort do the same! Together we saw the resort transformed from an awesome keys resort to my dream wedding within hours. The wedding and reception were so much more that I could have imagine. The coconut cove team was on point and ready to do whatever was needed to make sure the night went without any problems and they did an awesome job!!

They take the stress out all your wedding planning needs. All you have to do is tell them what you want and they will make your dreams come true. We booked their entire resort for a couple days during the wedding and truly enjoyed ourselves on Island Time. Paul and Magda were by our sides through the whole day assistaning us with any needs, they are truly one of a kind. I would recommend them over anyone else. SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!

Months later, friends and family are still talking about what a great time they had, and how beautiful our daughter's wedding turned out. Coconut Cove Resort & Marina is the most beautiful and (most important) private setting. All of the hard work planning every last detail perfectly was done by Magda! The table settings/decorations were perfect, right down to the cute salt/pepper shakers. The flowers by Magda were just beautiful and the bouquets very unique (they lasted almost two weeks!). Food was outstanding and the catering staff was very professional & kind (making special plates for late arrivals). The key lime wedding cake from Bob's Bunz was the best I've ever had - everyone was raving about it! Magda is also a very talented photographer, providing us with beautiful memories we can look back on for years and years. The wedding party and some of our guests also stayed at their hotel and made a mini vacation out of the weekend. They had such a good time that I am sure they will visit Paul and Magda again. Needless to say, we highly recommend Coconut Cove Resort & Marina to anyone looking to have the most memorable beach wedding!

Paul and Magda REALLY know what they're doing! They are the BEST!! My wedding was beyond my wildest dreams!! Beautiful venue, flowers, decorations, and great food!! My guests had a blast! We had the most amazing wedding at coconut cove resort. Magda and Paul were amazing at making this wedding planning so stress free. Everything was all written up for us, the only thing we had to do was sit down and make the choices. Everything was provided there, every detail was outlined perfectly. I had absolutely everything laid out for me. Flowers, DJ, photography, officient, you name it, they were prepared. I would recommend anyone doing a beach destination to have it here. By far the most amazing wedding and most compliments from family and friends. No bridezilla or groomzilla needed here. No stress. And they work with you on a budget so you can have a beautiful wedding at low cost. By far more amazing than I even dreamed.

Coconut Cove would be the place I would have my wedding again and again and again.... It went by so fast and was so amazing that we are glad we had the whole resort for our family and friends for almost 5 days! If you need a destination wedding idea, this would be it....the weather, scenery and complete wedding planning provided by Paul and Magda could not be repeated anywhere else. I looked at 20 different venues in the Keys since my family has vacationed there for over 15 years and I wanted to have my close family and friends experience the true Keys atmosphere. Magda and Paul provided me with complete confidence that they could do everything and actually care more than anyone else since they are a family run business. Our local friends raved about the wedding and reception and that says alot as there are alot to choose from. I wasn't impressed with many other venues since most of those people don't own the business and thus do not care as much as Paul and Magda do. It was extremely easy to plan from 1000 miles away because Coconut Cove provides everything! Ceremony, Photography, Flowers, DJ, Video, Hair, Make-up, Catering, 5 Star Bar and FIREWORKS! The fireworks were a last minute add for us and it was worth the small investment for a lifetime of memories. Our pictures and video are amazing and the food and entire resort was perfection. We can't thank you enough for hosting our family and friends for 3-5 days of a wonderful vacation. We will definitely be visiting you next spring to say Hello! Thank you for making our wedding as beautiful and stress free !

I had always wanted a laid back destination wedding whenever I got married. Calling other venues in the Keys almost made me change my mind, until I spoke with Paul! He is so organized and easy to deal with! I never saw the venue before the week of the wedding. Through numerous emails and phone calls, Paul and Magda planned my dream wedding! Every detail was perfect! I keep replaying the night through my head, it was so magnificent I would not change one thing! Paul assured me everything was planned exactly how I wanted it, but it was so easy I couldn't believe it! They are so professional, yet still feel like family when you leave. Magda is like superwoman! She will make sure you have everything you want done perfectly throughout your whole stay, take amazing wedding pictures, and just about anything else you could possibly think of! The setting is probably the best in the Keys! You feel like you are in paradise! I didn't want to leave, and we will definitely return in the future!!

Paul and Magda and their whole team did the most wonderful job with our wedding. They were so amazing and did the best job with our wedding. We could have never planned a more perfect wedding! Everyone keeps complimenting the ceremony, the food, the bar, the view, the decorations, and of course the fireworks! It was such an amazing wedding and they did everything that I had asked. They listened to what I wanted and didn't want. They really tried to get to know me and figure out how to make our wedding as special as possible. We cannot be more thankful for everything! Having a destination wedding at a location I have never seen nor know anyone that has ever seen made me a little nervous, not going to lie, but it was my dream to get married on the beach and I was willing to take that chance... I am SOOOOO GLAD I DID!!!
I had called a couple other resorts in the Florida keys to get quotes for our wedding, some told us that they don't do weddings in march due to spring breakers and others took weeks to get back to us. My now husband was helping me look since I was getting fustrated about finding the perfect place that was affordable and classy, not to mention they would actually get back to me in a timly matter. (not all of us are on island time :) )
He came across the Coconut Cove Website and asked me if I called them. I thought what the heck why not... BEST CALL I HAVE EVER MADE!!!
Paul and Magda where awesome. When i called or emailed with any question big or small they got back to me in less then 24 hrs. When we got there they took such good care of us... the resort was ours.
We stayed at the resort for 7 days and each and everyday Paul and Magda and thier staff made sure we were taken care of the entire time! I know we would have not gotten this kind of treatment at any other resort.
Then there was the wedding... i could have never dreamed that it would have been as spectacular as it was. They had every detail down, from the awesome amazing flowers (which all i did was send a couple pictures to Magda and she did the rest) to the table decore to they way they set up the guest book table and seating arangements. The food, I will go back and bring my 57 guest so that we can just enjoy the fantastic food!

Paul and Magda and thier staff truly allowed us to have a worry stress free wedding. Truly amazing!!! Everyone had an awesome and 2 weeks later Im still getting facebook messages on how awesome the wedding was!

You can not go wrong here! Coconut Cove is by far a one stop dream wedding local. Magda, Paul, and their incredible staff take care of you as if you are one of the family. They want nothing more than to make you happy and make sure that you get everything that you want. Everything was absolutely incredible (the flowers, the food, the drinks, fireworks, pictures, etc.) I could go on and on about all the "little things" that they did to make it such an amazing day. If you are looking for typical this is not the place for you, but if you want yourselves and your guests to have memories that will last a life time, this is definitely the place. Don't hesitate, it will definitely live up to the expectations of a "dream wedding."

Paul, Magda, and the staff went out of their way to ensure that our wedding was the very best. I'm not sure how they did it, but they even got the weather to cooperate and we had beautiful evening ceremony :-) The location was beautiful. The comments that we have received in regards to the pictures that were taken by Magda is that they look like postcards. We would strongly recommend this location to anyone that is looking for a memorable beach wedding.

Absolutely amazing!! Paul, Magda, and staff made our wedding magical, wonderful and perfect in every way. From the day we met them they were professional, friendly, responsive and flexible. They handled virtually everything for us; ceremony, reception, officiant, flowers, music, food, photography, etc--exactly what we were looking for--and all handled in a way that allowed us to have exactly what we wanted. The answer to every one of our requests was always " we will do whatever you want that will make you happy". They promised a perfect wedding, one where our guests would say-- "this is the best wedding I have ever been to"--and many of them did! Weddings at Coconut Cove are not like a standard wedding in a catering hall that many of us have attended, they are a weekend party where people who have either not seen each other in a very long time or had never met prior bond, have fun, renew old friendships and establish new ones. Their staff is extremely hard working and attentive, nothing we needed or wanted was ever a problem, and they anticipated our needs well in advance of us even realizing we would need something!!! To sum up, never, ever have I been to such a wonderful wedding, and I'm so thankful it was mine!! Coconut Cove has our highest recommendation--there is absolutely no better place anywhere. The wedding of our dreams was a reality thanks to Paul & Magda at Coconut Cove, and their staff! It is hard to even begin to do justice to them with words... I think they may have outdone even our dream! They were there to calm, give suggestions or just listen. All my guests were just awed by the beauty of the site and the ceremony with all the personal touches! The only complaint of my guests, was that I didn't warn them how emotional it would all be (of course, I wasn't prepared for that either!) The emotions are still fresh in my memory as I type this... such love exudes from Paul & Magda, their family and their place - it was magical!! My friend who has been to MANY weddings said they think our's was the best one they've ever experienced!! My sister's fiance' is upset as he doesn't know how he can compete with it! We are so thankful & blessed to have found Paul & Magda, and Coconut Cove - it was really a once in a life time, dream come true wedding!!

Paul and Magda gave us the wedding of our dreams. They were both very professional and delivered everything that they promised for us. The site is very beautiful and our guests were wowed by the view. Paul created a ceremony that we will never forget. He included my husbands children and brought everyone to tears. If you are looking for the perfect beach wedding in Islamorada, this is tne place for you. Coconut Cove & Resort provided my husband and I as well as all of our family and friends with a beautiful vacation, perfect wedding, and executed the entire event from beginning to end FLAWLESSLY. I never would have expected it to be even more perfect than I had dreamed of. Paul & Magda really went out of their way to make sure we had exactly what we wanted, at a great price, and at a personal level you could never get at another venue. The fod was amazing, the resort was relaxing and most of our family and friends stayed at the resort with us the entire weekend. My husband and I still get compliments on how great our wedding was 6 months later. I cannot stress enough how incredible our stay was because Paul & Madga took care of everything from hotel room accomodations, to photography, to flowers, the DJ, food, and the ceremony. Coconut Cove is the best in the keys!

We found Coconut Cove when my husband's sister got married there. The ceremony was exactly what we were hoping to create, so when we started thinking about our wedding, we called Paul and Magda. When the planning began, we thought that we simply wanted to hold the ceremony at Coconut Cove and have a dinner after the ceremony at another site. Paul helped us to design the ceremony and then suggested sites to hold the dinner. However, as we got farther into the planning process we changed our minds an decided to hold the reception at Coconut Cove as well. Paul and Magda were always accommodating of our changing plans. We could not have been happier with our wedding - it was essentially a 36 hour party with a wedding in the middle. All our guests arrived at Coconut Cove the evening the before the wedding, and we had a cook out on the beach and relaxed. In the morning, we all had coffee and pastries at the tiki bar and socialized on the beach and at the pool. We then got dressed for the wedding, and held the ceremony. After the ceremony we held the reception at Coconut Cove and it moved at the pace we wanted. After the reception our family and friends continued to socialize until they were ready to turn in for the night. The next morning, we saw everyone off after coffee and pastries at the tiki bar. The service, food and photography were excellent, and we and our guests all felt welcome and well cared for. A couple years after our wedding, two of our friends held their wedding at Coconut Cove in the same style that we had ours. Their families thanked us many times for inspiring the perfect wedding. Our experience was completely stress-free. Our family and friends had a great time. I did not even have a chance to visit the venue prior to our event but could not have been more pleased. Everything is completely customizeable and the place was transformed for our special day. I would recommend going down a few days before your even so that you can enjoy the islands and relax. Magda did an amazing job with our flowers and was able to give me exactly what I had pictured without ever meeting me beforehand. The food was amazing but we wish we had left the food out longer as everyone was wanting seconds and thirds! Their menus are completely customizeable to meet everyones tastes and they were able to provide great direction on things that our guests might enjoy. Paul and Magda really take the time to get to know their brides and grooms and really make your day special. I would recommend a destination wedding at Coconut Cove to everyone.

We got married on 2/6/10 and Paul and Magda were absolutely great. They exceeded our expectations and made everything perfect!! Even though I was told to expect something to go wrong on our big day, not a thing went wrong. The venue and the decor were perfect. Paul performed a beautiful ceremony and did everything he could to make sure this day was exactly what we wanted and it was. Magda did a fantastic job with the flowers and everything was gorgeous. I cannot help but say everything was perfect. If you want the wedding of your dreams and a perfect day, definitely go to Coconut Cove. Everyone keeps telling us that it was a "fairytale wedding" and the fireworks topped it all off. Thank you Paul and Magda!!! We will remember this day forever!

Coconut Cove Resort & Marina HIGHLY exceeded our expectations!!! We had the best wedding EVER!!! Our guests were so impressed with the venue and attention to detail. We danced our first dance on the beach with Paul's fireworks lighting up the night sky...it was the most memorable moment and it was fantastic!!! The food was delicious, the decor was perfect! We cannot say enough great things about the venue and staff. The location is perfect, the staff is wonderful and willing to do anything to make your day special. The owners, Paul and Magda, are two of the nicest, most giving, honest, and kind people we have ever known! They have become like family to us! We HIGHLY recommend this venue to everyone. We will DEFINITELY return to Coconut Cove for future events!

My husband and I recently got married at Coconut Cove Resort and Marina and the wedding was absolutly amazing!!! The staff is exceptional and the place is beautiful! It was exactly everything I was wanting out of a beach wedding. Paul and Magda were wonderful. They took care of everything I needed or asked for. I didn't have to worry about a thing! The location was perfect, the cake was beautiful, the ceromony was sincere, and the photographs were georgeous! Everyone who came had a wonderful time and I wouldn't have changed a thing! If you're looking to have a destination wedding definitely check this place out!

Paul & Magda did a fantastic job at making our dreams come true. The entire planning process was stress free we didnt have to worry about a thing. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and the photos by Magda turned out better than I could have ever dreamed.

Everything was perfect from the preparations, setting, and friendly service to the food and fireworks! Everyone from Laurie at the front desk to the wedding day staff were so helpful and pleasant. We didnt have to worry about anything which was great! This was the second wedding for both of us so we were thrilled that we didnt have to put it all together They supplied all the vendors! I was able to rely on Paul and Magda (owners/wedding planners) to ensure that our wedding day would be perfect and it was! And our parents were very impressed with all the festivities. My mom even cried over the fireworks!

I have nothing but amazing comments about Coconut Cove and the owners, Paul & Magda Bates.... Everything on our wedding day went together so well, actually it was perfect; all due to the great experience of Paul, Magda, and their wonderful staff. The best part was just enjoying our fabulous event... we were able to relax and soak up every beautiful moment.
The staff turned the already paradise-like location into a gorgeous tropical wedding site.
The food was absolutely delicious; couldn't ask for a more beautiful & yummy cake too (Thanks to Bobs Bunz!)
Magda is a phenomenal photographer... she really used all elements of the resort to her advantage (and ultimately to our advantage) The pictures turned out amazing.
The steel drum player was terrific, as was the DJ... the dance floor was full all night!
It will be a day (actually weekend) we will never forget...
We highly recommend Coconut Cove Resort for your wedding ceremony & reception.

We had our dream wedding at Coconut Cove Resort & Marina! The owners of the resort, Magda and Paul, helped with all the wedding planning and created a gorgeous and memorable wedding ceremony and reception! Magda did all our photography and the pictures have amazed all our friends! We used pink and orange flower arrangements and had a sunset ceremony that was unbelievable. We had our first dance to fireworks. The night was perfect!

Paul and Magda are the owners of the resort. They handle EVERYTHING! I told them what I wanted and they did it!! It made planning so easy. They do photography and videography too. Many of my guests said it was the best wedding the had been to! Because the resort is smaller, my family and I and my friends had the entire place to ourselves! Definitely go for the fire works, they add something spectacular to the day!

I had a very short time to plan my wedding. Paul and Madga, the owners, are amazing people. My family was astonished I found such a breathtaking resort with such welcoming charm. Especially when we got a little wild the night before the ceremony.

Paul was very easy to work with, extremely helpful and gave me great ideas to have a breathtaking wedding on a budget. Paul's humor and upbeat personality made my wedding stress free!

Madga was brilliant in her flower arrangements and photographs. She captured the life of party. All the pictures were absolutely incredible. One particularly reveals true love between me and my son.

Coconut Cove will always be a treasure of the Keys! I will definitely come back to visit Paul & Madga!

This vendor provided every service we requested. The service was provided in a professional manor that exceed my expectations, which were high. My unique needs were met including specific requests for substitutions in catering choices. The fireworks were spectacular and were a wonderful addition to our wedding. All of the guest were impressed by every aspect of our wedding and had an amazing time. Magda's photos were great and the photo book she made us is a beautiful format for reminiscing. I was able to send in photos of what I wanted my flowers to look like and Magda did a fantastic job replicating them. Paul and Magda were a pleasure to work with and they made all our wedding dreams come true. We would highly recommend them to anyone wanting a intimate beach wedding!

My sister just recently got married on March 6th and Coconut Cove was absolutely wonderful! We traveled all the way from Colorado and I wasn't involved in very much of the planning but when we arrived for rehearsal, I met Magda. She was professional, kind, and funny! She had everyone in the bridal party laughing and you could definitely tell that she knew what she was doing. On the wedding day, she kept in contact with us and put everything together exactly how my sister wanted it. Everything about the venue was beautiful from the two palm trees where they said their "I dos" to the fresh sand and rose petals they laid out. And.... the FIREWORKS!! They amazed everyone. The bar staff was wonderful as well. Todd, Patricia, and Natalie were such kind people and I promised them I would be back someday! The only reason why I did not give this venue the full 5/5 stars was because of the woman we spoke to upon arrival on rehearsal day. I believe her name was Patty. She was not kind whatsoever. She was rude to the bride, the bridesmaids, and a few guest on the actual wedding day. I even asked her a question on the wedding night asking if she knew where Magda was and she had a very unprofessional response. I understand everyone has bad days but when we are only there for a short time to celebrate the best day of my sisters life, I would hope that all of the employees would be a bit nicer than she was. All in all, Coconut Cove was perfect and I recommend this venue to any bride and groom looking to tie the knot in Florida!!

My daughters wedding was everything she dreamed of and more thanks to Magda, Paul, and Patti at Coconut Cove Resort and Marina ! I have to admit I was skeptical at first, as she booked this venue without seeing it in person first as we are from Michigan. After meeting with Magda 6 months before the wedding I felt more confident and relaxed. Magda was so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with planning the details of the wedding. She really knows her stuff and made long distance planning easy for my daughter. When the actual day of the wedding was here it was unbelievable how the resort was truly transformed! The setting for the ceremony right on the beach next to the ocean is naturally beautiful and the addition of the bamboo arch with flowers. tikki torches and flower petal runner for the aisle made it magical ! Picture perfect ! Paul took the time to get to know the bride and groom and performed a wonderful ceremony. The reception area and tables were decorated beautifully, the food was absolutely delicious and the tikki bar provided just about everything you could imagine and was very generous. The reception was beautiful and so much fun ! To add to the experience somehow it worked out that Paul was the pilot on the plane that flew my daughter and son in law to their honeymoon destination ! What are the chances of that happening? Thank you to Magda, Paul, Patti and everyone else at Coconut Cove Resort and Marina for making my daughters wedding dream come true !

This was the most magical experience of our lives. Everyone truly said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. Magda and Paul made it so easy to plan our special day. It was so authentic and perfectly tailored for us. We were in heaven and there was truly something for everyone. The food was amazing, the venue transformed magically. I recommend to highest level. Coconut Cove gave us an amazing wedding day!! They provided a high standard of professionalism and services personalized to us with a warm feeling as if we were old friends. I highly recommend having the family rent out the full property for the weekend and enjoying the local activities a few days before and after the wedding. The flowers, photos, food, decorations, and delicious cake all were above our expectations. The rehearsal dinner added another night to spend personal time with loved ones also highly recommended. Thank you Magda and Paul for the beat wedding we have ever been to :-)

The wedding was absolutely beautiful and they did every last detail without really any stress to anybody. The put together all the goodies I brought and made it look great especially the flowers and tables. I wasn't impressed with the food but never heard any complaints. The whole thing went down without an incident.

My husband and I had an inimate wedding ceremony and spent the majority of our honeymoon at Coconut Cove. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The setting was beautiful and family oriented for my guests. Paul provided a personalized and memorable wedding ceremony. The flowers and photography by Magda were personal and gorgeous. Paul and Magda went above and beyond to help us make our day easy and unforgettable. Patti, the resort manager, worked hard to make our few guests feel like they were at home. I cant say enough nice things about our services and I would refer to Coconut Cove for a wedding or vacation in general. We plan to return to remember our special time and visit with our new friends in the future!

We chose Coconut Cove as our destination wedding venue because of the privacy it afforded us and all of our friends. The resort is not open to the public, so we were able to have the place all to ourselves since we rented all 20 rooms for the weekend. It is probably the closest thing you could get to renting a private villa. The only real staff are the owners, reception and caretakers - other than that you're basically on your own, and the party never stops! We all stocked the huge Tiki Bar 2 nights before the reception so our guests didn't have to pay $8 a drink like at some other resorts while lounging around their fabulous pool. Of course our actual wedding reception was catered, and the food was fantastic! They recommended an awesome dj, and the owners Paul and Magda officiated the ceremony and did all the flowers and photography - it could not have been any easier to plan since it's basically a "one stop shop." All around a great experience. Many of our friends said it was the best wedding they've ever been to!

My husband and I have visited the keys several times together over the past few years and got engaged in Islamorada, his parents have a condo there and he has been traveling there since he was young so it was an ideal place as we both love the warm weather and beach (but are from Michigan), we never imagined a wedding inside a banquet hall or something formal and stuffy so this was perfect for us! Especially the fact that we did not have to end the wedding at 10pm as you do at the surrounding resorts.
Paul and Magda were both very helpful and knowledgeable about all wedding aspects and helped immensely with long-distance planning. Magda was a great help going through every detail and making sure everything we imagined was done perfectly! The flowers turned out fantastic just what we had imagined. We brought some items to add a special personal touch to the ceremony site and her team made sure everything was just where we had planned! The fireworks for the first dance turned out amazing! The bar service and food was great, it was nice to have the buffet set-up so guests could pick and choose and everyone was very professional. The setting was perfect and allowed the guests to continue to stay and have fun later into the evening, very private and perfect for what we wanted! Many people said they had a fantastic time and could not have imagined a more beautiful setting and were very impressed by the food, atmosphere, set-up and decor.

Just a few minor things, the champagne did not come out until after the toasts and halfway through dinner so everyone was unsure if there was another toast coming or what they should do with it, and due to the tide we were unable to use the nautilimo for the groom entrance and our sunset cruise so that was a bit disappointing as we had been looking forward to that and had already paid for it. Aside from those minor things we and all of our guests had a great time!

Best wedding weekend we could've imagined!

We had our wedding on 11/2/18 and it was the most perfect wedding we could've dreamed of. We arrived with 75 of our closest friends and family (majority traveled from Ohio) on Thursday. We had kids, grandparents, teenagers and lots of middle agers in attendance. Paul let us have full reign of the property, including the tiki bar where we held our welcome reception and provided food and drinks to our guests. Everyone enjoyed themselves and meeting each other as everyone arrived. Friday was the the wedding. Patty, our coordinator did a fabulous job of transforming the grounds into the perfect ceremony and reception areas! Every detail was fabulous. The wedding was everything we dreamed it would be. The food was amazing, the fireworks were breath taking and our guests are still talking about them! It even ended up raining and with the covered area it didn't even matter! Saturday we all got up and everything was cleaned!! We had a local company deliver 20 kayaks and paddle boards for our guests to use during the day and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Between the pool, kayaks and plenty of room to hang out, everyone was able to relax and have a good time. That evening, (With prior approval from Paul) we hired a 5 piece band to come set up and play at night for everyone and we had a blast! Best send off and thank you we could've done for all our friends and family!

The staff the entire weekend was super attentive and nice. The rooms are great, not 5 star by any means, but clean and comfy with everything you need to relax and feel at home. The grounds and pool were clean and well kept. You have to remember you are in the Keys, not some fancy city! Everyone is relax and chill down there... We already plan on coming back next November for an anniversary party, and who knows, maybe it will be an annual thing!

Wedding was amazing, picture perfect! During planning there was some disorganization with booking rooms for the hotel and some guests were not impressed with the rooms. Everyone thought the wedding was spectacular though!

Beautiful venue to have a destination/beach wedding! The day went by SO fast! But it was beautiful and more than we could have asked for. Patty & Magda were amazing. So caring and took care of everything we needed. Very flexible & allowed us to create exactly what we wanted for our big day. My only complaint would be wanting the whole weekend to last longer! We did have Magda as our photographer and are waiting on our pictures. I can't wait to see them because I know they will be great!! Thanks so much for such a fun weekend for the entire family!

The standard response for negative reviews " we have no record of you staying here ". Well, I did stay there. It was horrible.

Great location. Beautiful view and facility. FILTHY ROOMS. GROSS. FILTHY bedding. Stay somewhere else. You get what you pay for.

The people next door had se# half the night....loud. sleep for me ? Nope. She was a screamer

They had se# at least three times. Loud. Glad he was fast about it.

The pillows smelled like cat urine , sweat and BO.

I didn't bother using the shower.

The air conditioning removed zero humidity from the air. We were wet and cold.....or wet and hot. There was no in-between.

The padded toilet seat was nice touch. Lolol

I slept with my clothes on.....even my socks.

And I hate cats. Cat foot prints in my car. Cat hair in the halls. WHY do you allow cats to run wild ?? Gross.

We booked our wedding 8 months out. Booked 3 rooms boat trailer abs RV. Sent check for wedding deposit. Day of wedding the owner demanded 80 percent more after I paid in full the day before when we checked in. He refused to do the ceremony and left us scrambling on our wedding day to find another officiant and venue! The rooms are old, unkept, moldy and dirty! See pics

What a jerk. Beautiful location, great sales pitch. Not treated like a valued guest and after spend $30,000 for a "dream wedding" I was left feeling disappointed. Over promised, under preformed.. Once you are there, you are left alone. What i would have given for a proper event cordinator. Someone to give direction and keep the wedding on track. Paul is not a nice person. Basically, sold a promise of "stress free" and given a crying bride and a quite car ride home. Oh, and the first night we had to ask Magda to clean up the used condoms all around the property. I didn't what my dog to eat them.... that's the truth..

HORRIBLE WEDDING EXPERIENCE, SERVICE & VALUE at Coconut Cove Resort JUNE 2018. Owner Paul Bates is a scam artist that did not deliver services he was paid for. Magda that has positive reviews is no longer on his staff. Paul caused us extreme aggravation because he cancelled our contract a week before the wedding and tried to keep our money without giving us a wedding. We had to involve a lawyer and personally drive 8 hours twice from our home to his establishment to get our wedding. We had to provide our own bridal party bouquets, table centerpieces, party favors and wedding cake last minute because the establishment failed to provide these even though they were in contact. We paid $180 per plate. The food was terrible but we were hungry. We saw the food platted at the buffet and all our guests got a plate. But the rest of the food was withheld from us by Paul personally who literally removed our catered food. We paid for photography but have ZERO usable wedding portaits of the bridal couple. It is 3 weeks after the wedding still have NOT received any photos or CD. All we saw was a total of 336 small, dark, blurry, pixelated, watermarked photos online. 40 of those photos were of the inanimate objects like laterns, chairs and chinese dolls that were not part of our wedding theme. We suspect that photos used to market Coconut Cove are fraudulent photoshopped and not really taken at his establishment or by the photographer Julie. See attached photos from our wedding. Paul was very difficult to work with because he flat out ignored calls, emails and questions during the planning process. At the wedding, Paul inappropriately came on to a number of our female guests. We could go on and on with other examples. Bottom line is that we did not receive what we paid for and what we did receive was a horrifying wedding experience. We hate to leave a bad review but people
deserve to be warned!

I have read these reviews, and have come to the conclusion that a woman named Magda did all of the previous planning here....well she was not there for ours. Here is OUR story....We met with Paul, a typical snakeoil salesman, with catchy lines and phrases such as “world class” and “5 star”, and nothing could be further from the truth. She showed us a portfolio..beautiful pictures, very professional..like the ones you see on his review.. Photoshop is an amazing tool. Our wedding pictures are out of focus, shadowed, horrible positioning and posing...no professionalism what so ever, and zero useable portrait photos of me and my bride. We paid $129 a plate for “5 star” food done by his “ world famous catery company”...half of it was on par with mcdonalds dollar menu, the other half like the filet mingnon was pulled early and eaten by the staff..at their own admission. We were charged $466 for a rose pedal lined aisle, and were met with about 2 feet of pedals, and zero at the alter. The bride tore her $3000 gown on the rotted wood flooring of the tiki hut, which location was a backup plan done last minute, due to the lack of cleanup done on the beach which ruined the entire plans for the evening. We had to pull services like cake, table decor, and flowers from them due to their lack of competence in understanding basic needs..even provided with specifics and blueprints. When it came to money, we sent certified funds to Paul, in which he declined twice, then Paul decided to breach our contract and attempt to keep over $5k,in which we paid him already. So after seeking legal advice, we drove the 4 hrs down there to pay on the spot..and the owner conviently was not on the premesis to go over this matter. Paul stepped over his bounds many times with his lack of professionalism such as verbage in text messages, overstaying his welcome like drinking and eating our food like the rest of the staff..and the way he interacted with many female guests.
