Look no further when searching for a caterer, Coastal Gourmet is hands down one of the best wedding decision you can make. Let me start by saying that we got married 08.14.22 at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington CT. When you book Saltwater you have the choice of working with one of three caterers. We met with all of them and were immediately drawn to Coastal - more importantly to Jenna. From the moment with met with Jenna she made us feel immediately comfortable and we felt confident we were in the right hands. Jenna is VERY detailed, she asked us questions we hadn’t thought of, gave us options we didn’t think were possible, and talked us through everything – seriously EVERYTHING – we could possibly need. We got engaged in 2020 and had a long engagement. She kept in contact with us periodically, checked in when big decisions needed to be made, and was ALWAYS available with any question we had. When our wedding weekend finally came and we had our rehearsal, our decision to book with Jenna and Costal was even more apparent when we got a glimpse of how Jenna would conduct the day and control the flow – she made it look effortless while being incredibly efficient. On our wedding day I cannot stress how impressed we were. Jenna had the decorations for our venue set-up with pristine accuracy, we had very detailed décor and she somehow made it even more beautiful than we could have imagined. Every single server, bartender, attendant, chef, and employee we met was friendly, helpful, and always appeared to be one step ahead. Jenna and the Coastal team were a huge part of what made our day magic and we wouldn’t have had the happiest day of our lives without them. Thank you so much Jenna. Thank you so much Coastal. We are incredibly happy that we chose Coastal Gourmet as our caterer at Branford House, and we absolutely could not have pulled off our wedding without Jenna as our day-of coordinator!
Planning a wedding comes with so many different and intimidating choices. Early on, it felt like there were a million decisions to make, but Jenna stepped in and expertly wrangled all those moving parts together. She was extremely responsive throughout the planning process, helping us navigate all the options and turn our ideas into a plan that set the stage for a truly great wedding day. Jenna was both flexible in accommodating our ideas, while also sharing her experience and recommendations to guide us on decisions where we would have been otherwise lost. And even when we hit her with a few inevitable last-minute changes, she made it all work with ease!
On the catering side, Coastal Gourmet completely delivered. The food was absolutely delicious (definitely recommend trying the short rib and stuffed sole), and the service from the entire staff was excellent. They were attentive, professional, and made sure all our guests were well taken care of throughout the night.
But what really made the experience so perfect was Jenna's execution on the day itself. She took total charge of the vendor logistics while running point on everything from the big moments to the little details, organizing the ceremony rehearsal right down to queuing up our grand entrances.
We also loved our bridal attendant Barbara, who made sure we received drinks and were fed when we needed a break post-ceremony. She also boxed everything up at the end of the night, for an easy, quick clean up!
Managing the biggest party we will ever throw could have been incredibly stressful, but Jenna and the Coastal Gourmet team helped take the weight off our shoulders. Because we knew she had every detail covered, we were able to just let go, focus on ourselves, and actually enjoy the moment.
If you want fantastic food and an expert day-of coordinator, we highly recommend booking Coastal Gourmet and working with Jenna! -

We cannot recommend Coastal Gourmet highly enough! From the very beginning, they were incredibly flexible and so willing to work with us to bring our exact vision to life. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and their team went above and beyond to make sure everything felt personal and seamless.
Somehow, the food was even more delicious on our wedding day than it was at the tasting (which we didn’t think was possible!).
Our wedding planner and her amazing team were attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, making sure everything flowed perfectly. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience—Coastal Gourmet exceeded every expectation and made our day unforgettable. -

We couldn't have asked for a better caterer and coordinator than Coastal Gourmet and Jenna. From day one, Jenna was organized, attentive, and went above and beyond to cover every detail, making the planning process smooth and stress-free.
On the wedding day, her coordination was flawless—everything ran seamlessly behind the scenes, allowing us to fully enjoy the moment. Her warmth and genuine care made it feel like she was celebrating with us, not just managing the event. The entire Coastal team was outstanding, from the stunning setup to the top-notch food and drink service. Our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was- the mini lobster rolls and hot chicken sliders were some of the fan favorites! We are so grateful for everything Jenna and the entire Coastal team did to make our day perfect and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. -

We had an incredible wedding at the Branford House and a huge reason for that was because of Jenna and everyone at Coastal Gourmet. From our initial intro call (which was way more detail oriented than any other catering company I spoke to) to our tasting and meetings leading up to the big day, I was so confident in Jenna’s ability to execute our vision as we imagined. All of her suggestions and recommendations in terms of our menu, rentals, and timeline were so spot on – I think she knew what I wanted before I even did! She was incredibly responsive throughout the planning process and someone I was so glad to have in our corner.
The week leading up to our wedding, the forecast was predicting rain and very cold weather for June, and Jenna made sure (before we even asked) that there were multiple options for rain plans, she had already reached out to someone for heaters for our tent, etc. We were luckily able to wait until close to the ceremony to make the call to have it outside, and Jenna had everything ready to go – I didn’t have to worry about anything. After the ceremony (which went perfectly) she had cocktails waiting for us and even bustled my complicated dress.
We also had an amazing bridal attendant, Britt, who made sure we were well fed and had a drink in our hand the whole night (she was even ducking in and out of the dance floor to get us cocktails!) We received so many compliments on the food and service for the night – the timeline was executed flawlessly. If you are looking for great food, fantastic service, and an amazing team that goes above + beyond for your wedding, I highly recommend Coastal Gourmet! -

Coastal Gourmet gave us the wedding of our dreams. Everything was the highest quality and the venue looked stunning.
Jenna was absolutely amazing starting with our first phone call. I had a lot of questions and changes in the beginning of this wedding planning process, and she was helpful and responsive each time. At our tasting, she helped me put my ideas together and helped me decide on the color scheme and decor. As the wedding got closer, she kept in contact and never made me feel silly for my questions. Then the wedding came, and she just made all our visions and dreams come to life. She made sure everything was in its place, and looked stunning. She kept the day running smoothly and on time. I could not have gotten through it without her!
The event staff was great! Everyone was so kind and helpful. We had a few elderly guests that needed some accommodations, and the staff handled it smoothly. There was never a line at the bar and there was always someone nearby during cocktail hour with a tray of food. Everyone worked together great to make it a cohesive feel.
The food was spectacular. Everyone was raving about how good their meals were. The cocktail hour snacks were a big hit as well. Everything tasted and looked amazing.
Coastal Gourmet is a big reason why I will remember our wedding day as absolutely stunning and perfect. -

Coastal Gourmet helped our wedding to be everything we dreamed of and more. From the intro call with Jenna to the day of with Dee, every interaction was pleasant and helpful. Jenna worked with us through the whole planning process, helping us figure out our menu, timeline, linens, and rentals. She was a fountain of knowledge and shared advice for every question we had.
The food from the hors d'oeuvres to the dessert was absolutely delicious. There were so many options available when creating our menu, and our guests raved about every single choice. The bar was well staffed and kept our guests happy, and the multiple entree options (and extra consideration for our vegans) catered to everyone's tastes.
The event staff was courteous, professional, and helpful the entire night, and we would be remiss to not give a gold star to Dee, the day of coordinator. Dee was excellent, amazing, every positive adjective you could think of. From the day we met her to after the wedding, she was so supportive, upbeat, and hardworking. She checked in constantly with us, was receptive to every need, and did everything to make the day as perfect as it was. She even escorted an engagement photographer and couple out of the garden so we could begin the ceremony! The whole time, we weren't aware of any issues, and she made sure that all of our decor was displayed and all our vendors had what they needed. She was exactly the energy we needed around us.

We had our wedding 9/7/24 at smith farm gardens in East Haddam CT. I was provided many preferred caters from the venue and after doing countless amounts of research and scheduled phone calls, I found the perfect one, coastal gourmet. I truly don’t even know where to begin when it comes to talking about such an amazing group of people. From our initial phone call with coastal gourmet and having Jenna Landon as our event planner, we knew we were in the absolute best hands. Jenna even took the time to meet us in Rhode Island at peak rentals so I can physically see all the linens, flatware and dishes all placed on tables, etc. (I’m a big visual person lol). Our wedding was everything we could’ve hoped for and more. Jenna truly helped make our vision come to life. Her attention to detail, professional and organizational skills are unmatched. We had anticipated a little rain but not nearly as much as it had actually rained. Jenna was literally on the phone with me trying to calm me down (because my entire wedding was outdoors) and literally bent over backwards calling endless amounts of vendors to ensure I had a backup sailcloth tent and had this all booked for me less than 12 hours before my wedding. All the staff at coastal gourmet, from bartenders, to wait staff to chefs including Jenna herself were literally soaked but still managed to make sure my husband and I had the absolute most amazing wedding possible as well as to make sure our guest were comfortable and having a blast. Of course with the rain, we had to go a little off schedule with timing of dinner and coastal gourmets flexibility was flawless- it was as if nobody even knew what was going on. Brittany- my bridal attendant for the night was also outstanding. She ensured my husband and I were taken care of the entire night, making sure that if we needed anything, she would Ensure we had it instantly. The food was phenomenal. Literally all of our guest had nothing but amazing things to say about the entire catering company. We are forever grateful for you guys and will miss working with you all! Thank you for going above and beyond for us on our special day. If you are throwing a wedding, do not think twice about hiring this company - I ensure that you will not regret it. -

From planning to execution, Coastal Gourmet hit it out of the ballpark for us. I had a clear-ish vision in mind for our late fall wedding, where the food would incorporate some of our favorite flavors, seasonal produce, and warm autumnal spices. We were seeking something upscale, but rustic — and above all, delicious. Food and drink were the most important details of the day for us. Working with Jenna, our event manager, made this a seamless planning process. She was so well-organized, detail oriented, and always had great recommendations and answers to our many questions. She acted as a pseudo-wedding planner for us, helping plan out the timeline, logistics, and placement for all our details — and there were a lot of them. The menu she helped us put together reflected all of our personal tastes and preferences and was unique to us. She saw my vision, and she realized it. The day of the wedding, I couldn't have asked for a better quality of service, food, and attention to detail. From the pre-ceremony station to the cocktail hour to the dinner to the desserts to the late night snacks — everything was impeccable and beyond delicious. We heard from multiple guests that this was the best wedding food they had ever had. Jenna kept everything on track and on time without skipping a beat. She was a reassuring presence throughout the entire day and evening. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Jenna and Coastal Gourmet! They truly helped make this a best day ever :) -

Coastal Gourmet, and Jenna specifically, helped make our wedding the best day of our lives. From the very start, Jenna was easy to talk to and incredibly knowledgable. I never felt like I was asking a dumb question. The planning process was a breeze, and on our wedding day, we didn't have to worry about anything because Jenna was on top of it.
All of our guests raved about the food, and one even said it was the best catering experience he'd ever had at a wedding. We appreciated that there were drinks waiting for us right after our ceremony, as well as a platter of hors d'oeuvres, so we got to enjoy all of the food despite being busy taking photos. Dinner was awesome, and so was dessert. After all was said and done, they very neatly and efficiently packed up all of our decor which was beyond helpful.
Overall, everything ran so smoothly thanks to Coastal Gourmet. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer. You can't beat their prices, considering the incredibly high quality food and service. Thank you Jenna for making our wedding a night we will never forget! -

Coastal Gourmet was an amazing wedding caterer from start to finish! From the very beginning, Jenna was extremely responsive to all of our questions and truly helped us plan the wedding of our dreams. It POURED rain all day at the wedding, but as the bride, I didn’t need to stress about a thing, because Jenna handled all of the rain plans. The food was spectacular and even my picky guests commented that it was great. I was particularly impressed with how they handled preventing gluten cross contamination. We had to reschedule because of Covid in 2020 and again in 2021 because of a hurricane the day before the event! They were so accommodating! I was so grateful. Because of this our original coordinator moved on to a new position and I was worried it wouldn’t go well because I had loved Kim. But the coordinator that came that day seamlessly took over, unfortunately I was on autopilot and don’t remember her name. The kitchen staff was spectacular. I popped in to see how they were managing cooking for a large event since cooking is a passion of mine. They were doing everything on a couple of butane burners from what I could see. I was super impressed! I made a fake cake from styrofoam and ultralight plaster and served big y sheet cake. Cake from an outside vendor was included in the package, but in 2021 I received the cake that had been intended for the wedding that was canceled for the hurricane and I wasn’t impressed. Instead I was allowed to swap for a different dessert and we chose mini-pies. OH MY GOODNESS THOSE WERE AMAZING! We also did a late night snack of pierogis, which was special for us because my husband and I like to make those together from scratch. I was also allowed to bring home some left over food which was great since I wasn’t very hungry during the event. But that does require signing a waiver that we would eat it within 24hours.
The price I quote includes food (passed appetizers, stationary apps, salad, dinner, dessert, late night snack, coffee, tea), bar, kitchen and serving staff, day of coordinator, upgraded rentals (napkins, tablecloths, plates), silverware, gratuity, setup and breakdown, and tax. It sounds like a lot, but was on par with other caterers. Having gratuity calculated saved us a lot of confusion.
We could have saved money by not having upgrades such as colored napkins, colored table cloths, fancy plates, and late night snacks. Bar was based on consumption and probably could have cost less if we chose different options. -

I honestly couldn't say better things about coastal. Jenna was a pleasure to work with from the start and did everything in her power to make sure Matt and I were happy. Day of, flawless. Absolutely flawless. Everything was incredible from the set up, to the bar service to the food. Jenna met with us day prior to go over everything we had and how we wanted it and when I saw it all together, it was a dream. All of our guests are still raving about how they had never had such good food at a wedding and were all super impressed. The staff (Britt) was sure to make sure my husband and I were eating and we never had an empty glass. I highly recommend this company to anyone searching! -

The team at our wedding provided impeccable service, ensuring everything followed our timeline and no one went hungry. We received SO many compliments on the food from our guests, I've lost count!

We worked with Michael and the Coastal Gourmet team for our September 2021 wedding and could not have been happier with our decision. From the first phone call, we were impressed by Michael's attention to detail and organization. He even went so far as to personally find a particular beer that we wanted to include on the menu. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was quick too. The staff was so friendly and made sure we and all our guests had whatever we needed. Most importantly, we had complete peace of mind knowing that our wedding day was in good hands. We can't recommend Coastal Gourmet enough. They went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our wedding day, not just the food, was exactly the way we wanted it to be. -

I am so impressed with coastal gourmet. We got married at Mystic Seaport on 08.28.21. From the very beginning, we worked with Jenna. She was amazing. So friendly and responsive to every little question we had throughout the entire year of planning. Not only was she so professional but she also felt like a friend throughout the process. At the actual wedding, I noticed how on top of everything the staff was. Not only did our tables look amazing, the food was so delicious. Over the last week so many of our guest have commented on how friendly the wait staff were and how great everything was. I want to specifically give Kim a shout out. Kim was an amazing surprise on our wedding day. Kim greeted us during photos before our ceremony bringing us water bottles and ensuring us she would get us whatever we needed. She held my bouquet when I needed a minute to chow down some pretzels and drink some water. She stayed with me right up until seconds before I walked down the aisle, and even fluffed my dress!! I would have never expected this from the catering company, it was such a nice surprise. After the ceremony Kim was right there again, ensuring us she would put plates aside for us so we wouldn't miss any of our awesome cocktail hour food or things from the raw bar!! This was important to us to not miss out on all the things we spent a year deciding on and we didn't have to! I honestly can't say enough good things! -

When hiring a caterer, having amazing food for our guests was a high priority. We have had a few experiences as wedding guests where the food was boring, underwhelming or lukewarm and were determined to make sure our guests had a great meal to enjoy. Costal Gorumets food is seriously amazing. Everything we tried at our tasting was delicious and our meal at our elopement this year was awesome - our family all raves about it. We also had really positive experience with the day of coordinator (shoutout to Tom!) and servers - they were all attentive, professional, and very friendly despite having to accommodate a variety of unique covid-related safety requests from our families.
We worked with Kimberly and she is so so wonderful to work with - from our first meeting she really made us feel comfortable and helped guide us to choose a perfect menu for us when we had no idea what we wanted. She made helpful suggestions and was very thorough and accommodating to our preferences and wants. Plus she is incredibly friendly and positive! When covid hit, Coastal Gourmet was more than accommodating and helped us figure out the best plan for a smaller event than we originally planned. We cannot wait to work with them again next year for our larger celebration. Highly recommend if you want high quality service and food. -

We booked Coastal Gourmet back in 2018 when we first got engaged, all because they are a preferred vendor for Eolia Mansion! Kimberly was SUCH a pleasure to work with and is so personable, making the wedding planning process a breeze. She kept us on track and focused when we needed to get things done.
Sadly we had to postpone our May 2020 wedding AND change venues when Covid hit. Kimberly worked with us and gave us some of the venue options that Mystic Seaport offers and available dates. We chose to use the Boat Shed in August. IT WAS PERFECT. The venue is great, highly recommend it. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about not only the venue but the food and service. Even though COVID wedding are different than normal, Coastal Gourmet made it seem as normal as it could.
Brittany was our bridal attendant and she made sure my champagne glass was never empty and we had everything we needed throughout the night.
We highly highly recommend using Coastal Gourmet as your caterer! -

Couldn't be happier with Coastal Gourmet
My husband and I got married September 6 2020 at Saltwater Farm Vineyard and we chose Coastal Gourmet as our caterer. We just received our photos and didn't want to leave a review until we got them as a picture is worth a thousand words. We had Michael as our coordinator and we could not have been happier! He is AMAZING! I cant express how grateful we are to him and his team. We planned our small wedding during COVID. Michael went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the plans. He met us numerous times at the venue, he made lots of different floor plans and designs to accommodate social distancing. He was so responsive and easy to communicate with. His team did such a great job setting everything up so quickly and efficiently! Even single thing went smooth on our wedding day thanks to Clastal Gourmet. All the food and drinks were phenomenal, everyone raved about it and i agree! I cant recommend them enough! They helped make our day PERFECT! -

Confident, professional, and delicious.
Choosing a caterer is difficult, but as soon as we spoke with Michael we knew we wanted to work with him. His confidence, professionalism, and transparency are exactly what we needed during the planning process and he did a phenomenal job helping us throw a flawless party. He built us a custom menu based on our tastes and budget and fielded a few extra requests with ease. Everything the team served was amazing. Our guests raved about the food and speed of the service, as well. It's quite a sight to watch a well-orchestrated staff serve your closest family and friends so smoothly. -

Coastal Gourmet was amazing to work with for our wedding. Michael was great at organizing everything (linens, tables, plates, cutlery, etc) and the menu he helped us great was spectacular. Our family and friends are still raving about the food! We went with a station style for our dinner and it gave us so many more delicious options than a traditional sit-down dinner, which is exactly what we wanted. Burgers and kabobs aren't traditional for a wedding, but they made for a much more fun event!
Michael's team is wonderful. Sunny, our attendant for the day, was polite and attentive. We always had food/dessert at our table, and we never went without a drink (which is great when you're at a winery!)
Michael was very familiar with our venue (Saltwater Farm Vineyard), so that was a big help when planning, because he knew exactly what he would need and was able to give us a price immediately. He also did a great job with organizing everything the day of, directing the ceremony, the introductions to the reception, and dinner.
We would definitely recommend Coastal Gourmet to anyone that asks! -

Where do I even start? Coastal Gourmet was absolutely amazing! Kimberly was our event coordinator and she was so amazing to work with throughout the entire process. From our first chat on the phone, to building our menu, to planning the details of the event, Kimberly was kind, responsive, caring, and SO professional. She really took the time to sit with us, get to know us, learn about our relationship, and find fun ways to incorporate our personalities into our wedding. They had so many amazing options and ideas for how to build out our menu and went out of their way to create some tasty gluten free options to accommodate my allergy. I was so impressed by the attentiveness of Tom, Kimberly, and the whole CG team at the wedding. Kimberly kept us in the loop and on track to make sure we stayed on schedule and was always checking in to make sure we were happy. The bridal attendant Judy was an absolute doll and made sure that bride and groom had everything we needed. She literally followed me around with gluten free entrees as I said hello to our guests to make sure I ate! Not once did I have an empty drink in hand as she kept replenishing me with my cocktail and ice cold bottled water throughout the night. We are totally blown away by our experience with the whole CG team and we would recommend them to absolutely anyone who is looking for a worry-free catering and event experience! -

Our wedding was at the Eolia Mansion, and Coastal Gourmet was one of six approved caterers. After months of sample menus and conversations, we decided Coastal Gourmet was the way to go. Not only did their menus match our tastes the best, but they were the most reasonably priced and the most professional. Throughout the planning process we worked with Kimberly. We always said, "No matter what else goes wrong, we have Kimberly, so we don't have to worry." Just having her working with us did so much to alleviate my wedding planning anxiety. She's a total pro. For our day-of event manager, we worked with Michael. He was also wonderful, and was on top of everything without making it look like it was difficult. He even helped us out by coming to our wedding rehearsal and walking us through it, which was such a relief. The food was delicious! My husband and I were able to have plates made with a bit of each entree, so we got to try it all. Everyone complimented our food and commented how big the portions were. The bar was on consumption, so we actually were refunded because our guests drank less than the estimate. Coastal Gourmet also hosted our rehearsal dinner at Latitude 41, which made everything really easy. We felt like one of the best decisions we made wedding planning was to book Coastal Gourmet, and much of that was due to how wonderful and professional Kimberly is. We highly recommend them. -

He brought up points that we had not thought of and was very helpful in making the event run smoothly and effortlessly. The staff & service was impeccable. Brit, our bridal attendant, was there for whatever we needed and checked in frequently. We never had to ask for anything. She made sure we had a drink at all times. The food was phenomenal. The appetizers were so tasty and the dinner was delicious. We asked to have the vegetables roasted longer when we did our tasting and they served them perfectly. Our guests loved the food!

Sarah Sent on 09/12/2014I had a very specific image on what I wanted for my wedding day and with the help of Michael and Coastal Gourmet, it all came to life! My husband and I have been to several weddings and unfortunately, haven't really cared for the food that had been served. This made us very conscious to who we chose to cater our wedding. We wanted gourmet, over-the-top food and service. I contacted 10 catering companies and Coastal Gourmet was the only company that stood out to me. We ended up having several hot passed hors'deurves and signature drinks, open bar and a four course meal and every single piece of food was amazing. We still have guests talking about the food nearly a month later! Michael was a great coordinator and would suggest to work with him specifically. He handled every situation professionally, was extremely organized and made our day that much more special. If you want perfection for your wedding day, start with Coastal Gourmet!
