It was both easy and amazing working with Closer North! From the first meeting and engagement photos to the day of and final product, we could not have been happier with our choice in CN for our wedding. Erica the owner was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and Ember and Hillary the photographers made everything stress-free and enjoyable. We're in LOVE with the photos we received, just 3 weeks after our wedding! We couldn't recommend CN more, and we know you'll love your timeless photos and smooth experience as much as we did. Closer North just WOW
I can not say enough about the entire team at Closer North.. I myself have been a huge fan since it was only Erica Godino. I've have always said if and when I got married that Closer North would be our Photographer..
First off Erica is amazing she answered any and all of our questions and eliminated all of our worries promptly never left this stressed Bride hanging.. Which was an incredible relief because I was planning my Maine wedding from 1300 miles away in Kentucky.. We had very limited amount of time to get our engagement photos done because we were only in Maine for one week before the wedding and my husband was only there for 36 hours but Erica and Hillary worked with us and we found a beautiful Friday evening in June to sneak them in.. Everyone was so very accommodating.. Erica helped us with a working timeline for the big day cause I seriously had no idea how to fit everything and to get the most out of our day without added stress.. The day of the wedding Hillary and Kelly were early came right in and took action and things went soo smoothly.. Hillary went above and beyond and helped me hook my bracelet and reminded us to button my dress (buttons that covered the zipper). Even though it was very chilly fall Maine day the girls made the best of it. We had so much fun with Hillary out taking our bride and groom photos we laughed climbed banks in heels sat on docks it was soo great to have that time just us.. We had sneak peeks on social media in days of the wedding and then had our entire album on flash drive in our mailbox by the end of the month it was an incredible turn around. My husband couldn't believe we had them back so quickly, with such amazing quality.. We are sooo in love with all our photos and can not pick a favorite to save our lives they are all so amazing!! I would 10 out of 10 recommend Closer North to any bride.. -

We feel so lucky to have found Closer North in our search for a wedding photographer. We are completely obsessed with our photos! We received our photos in the most beautiful package. All black and white as well as color editing. When looking for a wedding photographer ,look no further! Erica was professional and quick to answer any questions we had. She was a huge help with our timeline the day of the wedding. We wanted to make sure we had two photographers to capture our day. Hillary and Kelly were amazing the day of our wedding! They were right on time, relaxed and made us feel so comfortable. They captured our day so beautifully and really went above and beyond to help us throughout the day. We can’t thank Erica, Hillary and Kelly enough that we have these beautiful photos to cherish! Highly recommend! -

Erica sent us our photos much quicker than we expected in the most beautiful little package.

After we got engaged, I spent a lot of time researching different local photographers and started following their social media pages to see their photography styles. I had followed Closer North on Facebook for a few years prior as they photographed weddings of other friends and I always admired the light and airy look of their photos. I reached out to many different photographers for information about services and pricing during the planning process, but after considering all the options, my now husband and I decided to book Closer North for our wedding photography. I am so happy we did!
I did most of my planning and correspondence through e-mail and social media due to my busy work schedule and I knew immediately after my first conversation with Erica that Closer North would be perfect for us. Erica always responded promptly, professionally and answered any questions I had making the planning process very easy. Pricing was very competitive compared to other local photographers without sacrificing quality. I was able to pay Erica via Venmo in installments leading up the big day which was super easy and convenient. We decided on an 8 hour package with 2 shooters for our winter wedding. We did the complimentary engagement shoot with Hillary at our camp over the summer where we got to meet her and establish a connection prior to our wedding. The quality of those photos really confirmed that we made the right choice in choosing Closer North to capture our wedding day.
Hillary and Karin captured our big day and arrived on time and eager to start photographing everything. I am so happy we opted for a second shooter to help capture as many special moments as possible. Both Hillary and Karin were very pleasant and professional. It was a very cold day, but they didn’t hesitate to get those winter wonderland shots we were so hoping for! Erica edited our photos quickly and I had all of our wedding photos back about 2 weeks after our wedding day. I am so pleased with how everything turned out. Closer North really made my vision for a winter wonderland wedding become a reality. Thank you Erica, Hillary and Karin! -

Gorgeous wedding photos, and so easy!
We did a lot of research when it came to finding a photographer for our wedding. Closer North was competitively priced in our area and we could not be happier with the photos that we got! My now husband and I did a winter session a few months before the wedding so that we could get to know one of our photographers (Danielle) and to "practice" posing for photos. She was amazing! She made it easy despite us not often taking pictures in this setting.
We also had Danielle shoot our rehearsal dinner to get a few candids of the wedding party and close family. For both the rehearsal dinner and reception we wanted to focus on candids of the guests and the wedding party, and trying to capture the spirit of the event which was a celebration!
Both Danielle and Elizabeth did an amazing job and we could not be more pleased with how the photos came out. Erica did the perfect job editing the photos and really captured the mood of the event. I especially love that the coloring of the photos is not over-exposed or washed out, and you can appreciate the rich colors of fall that we had at the wedding. We have hundreds and hundreds of quality photos. I feel there is a perfect ratio of bride/groom and wedding party photos, scenery and table setting photos, and candids of wedding guests. I liked the organization leading up to the event as well. Erica sent me a suggested timeline that would work with a wedding party of our size (18 of us) and the number of family members that needed to be in pictures. Danielle also did a great job of keeping things moving with wedding party photos, which was nice because we couldn't wait to join the reception.
Both of our photographers and Erica were easy to work with, communicating by phone and email as needed. We also got a preview of our photos ~3 weeks after the event and the whole album less than a month after.
I wish I could rate them 10 stars! Loved every aspect of it. -

Closer North was everything I was looking for! Hillary and Ember were so easy to work with and the pictures were outstanding! I spent a lot of time on the details of the wedding and I'm thrilled that these details were captured by our photographers. They both had a great eye and found awesome photo opportunities at the venue. Not only that, but we got the pictures back within a few weeks and once I uploaded the pictures on social media, several wedding guests changed their profile picture to a photo from the wedding! I would definitely recommend Closer North! -

Fantastic Experience with Closer North!
Choosing the right photographer was so important for me and my husband for the wedding – little did I know we’d be blessed to work with Closer North on multiple wedding occasions! We postponed our big wedding in 2020 due to COVID-19, and were able to work with Erica to capture our elopement ceremony on Mt. Battie. The photos were absolutely perfect! She not only captured us, but the whole setting beautifully! She was amazing to work with, very easy going, and it shows in every picture. Fast forward to our wedding celebration in 2021, where we worked with Ember and Ashley and was just blown away by the professionalism of this company! They took fantastic photos, directed when necessary, and were up for any suggestions. They even were up for a photo on the lawn with the Rockport lighthouse lit up and it was sprinkling – then lucked out with a rainbow! We had a sneak peek by the next day, and photos within a month! I cannot recommend Closer North enough – thank you Erica, Ember, and Ashley! -

Exceeded all expectations!
Ember captured everything special about our wedding and was absolutely fantastic to work with! We honestly don't have words for how beautiful our photos ended up being and the editing by Erica was flawless! We were also so grateful that we had sneak peek photos within 24 hours after our wedding and the rest of them were available to view the day after that! Thank you Closer North Photography for giving us such beautiful memories that we will cherish forever!!

Closer North was absolutely amazing to work with! They exceeded all our expectations. They showed up early, we requested 2 photographers Erica and Hillary. They were kind, professional, and just really awesome to be around!! We were continuously laughing and having the time of our lives, they made everything so comfortable and easy! As a bride, stressing that everything turns out perfect is always the top of my mind. But not while working with Erica and Hillary, they put so much work into the photos I was instantly excited to see the end result... And I was right to be, my mind is blown away by the photos I have seen so far and I cannot wait to see the rest of them. They did a phenomenal job and are worth EVERY PENNY SPENT!! Having Erica and Jordan documenting our wedding day was wonderful. They are both so chill and down to earth, it is hard not to be calm when they are around. They were efficient at getting the group shots, and great at getting a natural happy smile out of anyone. They captured all the important details, people, emotions and events of the day. We felt like she was truly excited for us and happy to be there all day. Erica edited and sent out our final photo gallery much faster than I expected, and her work is impeccable. Looking through our gallery for the first time was like reliving our wedding day. They captured so many moments and details that we had missed throughout the day. We are beyond thrilled with our experience with Erica and Jordan.
Not only were they wonderful to have around on our wedding day, but Erica was so helpful throughout the planning process. When we had to change our wedding plans as a result of the pandemic she quickly revised our contract to accommodate our Plan B, and also gave us several great suggestions to help make the new plans perfect. She was helpful when laying out a timeline, and answered all of our questions with a prompt and thoughtful response. She has relationships with our other vendors which helped to keep the day running smoothly and alleviate much of the planning stress. We are so grateful to Erica and Jordan for all of their work, and can’t wait to work with them again.

I’m not sure we’ll ever be able to put into words what Erica and the Closer North team mean to us. Erica stuck with us through 2 venues, 4 dates, 1 pandemic and many MANY emotional decisions. Danielle has since become family and Hillary stepped in at the last minute as part of our team and was absolutely incredible. Closer North was the very first vendor we hired (yes, even before our original venue). We knew from the start that our photographer was going to be our most important find as they capture the memories that you look back on forever. As soon as we saw Erica’s work, we knew Closer North was the one. When you know, you know. Not only was Erica incredibly professional and responsive throughout the planning process, she was also organized, thoughtful and supportive through the ups and downs of planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic. Our photos came out better than we even dreamed and we will cherish them and the memories they hold for the rest of our lives. Erica, Danielle and Hillary, we love you! They captured everything I wanted; it's like she read my mind
I hired Closer North as our photographer for our June 2019 wedding in Maine. Erica and her husband Jordan were our photographers. I worked with Erica directly throughout the planning process, both via email and phone conversations. She was absolutely fantastic to work with. I was planning my wedding from 4,000 miles away and did not have a wedding coordinator. Erica offered her experienced advice, schedule of events suggestions, etc. and answered all and any questions that I had. She was very timely with responses which was a relief for me. Our whole wedding timeline/order of events were based on suggestions that she had made based on her experience and I was able to use the order of events that she suggested to provide to the DJ and caterer and it went very smoothly. The day of our wedding was the first time I had met Erica in person (since we lived so far away we did not do engagement photos and were not able to meet up ahead of time due to my schedule but she did offer these options). Her and Jordan both were very friendly and did a great job at making us feel comfortable. She even provided advice while we were getting ready for the wedding i.e. subtly reminding the bridesmaids to take hair ties off their wrists etc. I told her a few shots that I wanted but after the wedding realized I completely forgot to tell her about some of the others, to my surprise, as I was going through the photos, I found she had captured all of them, it was like she read my mind. She posted a preview of the pictures on social media in just a couple of days and I received a beautifully packaged USB drive of all of the pictures in just a couple of weeks after the event. All the images came edited and in both color and black and white. A lot of the images I don't even know how they captured them because it was like I didn't see them at that moment during the event, they captured the perfect images from the perfect angles without being in the way and without being noticed. I wanted all of the special moments captured but was worried about having photographers right up in our faces taking the "special" out of the moments. Well with Erica and Jordan you don't need to worry about that. Like I said they captured all the special moments and I didn't even notice they were there doing it. I am still in awe when I look through the images they provided. I am beyond happy with the images we received and the service provided by Closer North. I would recommend them to any couple looking for a wedding photographer. -

My husband and I were delighted with her friendly, professional touch with us and our guests, and the images that she captured were nothing short of magical. She also turned them around in less than 2 weeks, allowing us to create a small display of our photos from the ceremony for our reception and make all our guests feel like they were there! We cannot recommend her enough, and would immediately book her again given the opportunity.

We also ended up taking an engagement photos with her and couldn't have been happier (I highly recommend doing an engagement session, if you aren't super comfortable in front of the camera). At the wedding it was just like hanging out with a friend who won't put down her camera. We had a blast and the photos that Erica and Jordan took were AMAZING!!! I highly recommend Erica and her team to anyone looking for a photographer. They are super timely in responding to questions and really helped us figure out our wedding timeline. As a side bonus, all of my friends and family have absolutely raved about the photos they took.

Amanda Sent on 09/11/2018I don’t even know where to start. We found Erica and Closer North when browsing for engagement photographers when my now wife and I visited Acadia National Park. We met her and it felt like we had known her for years. She was SO comfortable to be around. My wife and I have never had professional photos taken so we didn’t know what to expect, Erica made it fun and very easy going. She even brought a friend along to hold our dogs when they weren’t in the photos! After looking at wedding photographers in Pittsburgh and finding nothing that really struck us in the way Erica’s photos did, we decided to have Erica shoot our wedding in Pittsburgh, PA. She was once again so easy going and organized. She provided a timeline for the day and truly put my wife and I both at ease. She brought her husband as our second shooter and we were also so comfortable around him. You could feel the love between the two of them and that’s important as well. Erica and Jordan helped with just about anything that needed done, from pinning the men’s boutonnieres to making sure our ceremony went as planned. They were fun and a joy to be around. My wife and I are probably slightly awkward to photograph but Erica and Jordan made it fun! Our wedding was only 9 days ago and we haven’t received our photos yet aside from some AMAZING sneak peaks however judging from our beautiful engagement pictures and sneak peak photos that our wedding pictures will be even better. Wedding photos are the only thing we keep forever and we are so grateful to have found Erica and Closer North. She felt like an instant friend and someone we truly trusted throughout the entire wedding planning process. We can’t wait for the day we have kids and we take them to Maine and have Erica continue to capture moments in our lives. Thank you Closer North!

Andrea Sent on 09/04/2018We hired Erica from closer north about 2 years ago!!! I found her photos online and loved her style of shooting! I knew we had to have her. Living in Florida and having our wedding in Maine made it difficult to meet with vendors before hand, but Erica was so easy to talk to and prompt in email response! She set up a “day of” timeline that flowed smoothly with the venue timeline!! She was early to getting to the venue and was so easy to communicate with! It felt like we knew her and second shooter Jordan for years!! They made our first look and couple photos feel so comforable. We had never done any couples photos so having their direction was amazing!!!! I would recommend Erica and second shooter Jordan to anyone!!! Our photos are gorgeous!

Erica is an extremely talented photographer and a fun person to be around. She made us feel at ease and even helped to calm me down a little before walking down the aisle. We fell in love with her unique style. Some of my favorite photos are of some candid moments before my bridesmaids and I were even dressed. I have had so many compliments on the photos and several guests ask me how we found our photographer! Jennifer Sent on 08/09/2012I can't say enough about Erica and her work! She services all of New England and I am so happy I found her! After looking through a ton of portfolios I was almost ready to give up on the search for the person with the right "eye"... then I found Erica.
She has an amazing eye that is not cookie-cutter by any means. She is an artist and it comes through in her photos. Not only is she mega talented - She is a joy to to work with, professional and very flexible. She is also VERY reasonable. Other photographers who are "popular" in the area way over charge and they just didn't have the talent I was looking for. Why overpay for medium photos?!

LOVED our pictures!
We loved working with Erica and her team! We worked with Hilary and Ami for our engagement shoot and wedding, and we both loved our pictures and the experience of working with them. Planning was sometimes a bit stressful, as we were planning from several hundred miles away- I highly recommend picking up the phone and calling Erica, because she is a delight to work with over the phone. I'd recommend their services to anyone looking for great pictures. -
