Amazing experience and excellent quality!

Clemencia did such an amazing job on my dress! She really knows her stuff! My dress had many layers and put in an amazing bustle that made my dress look amazing! Her work is one of kind and she has true talent that comes with many years of experience. She was so sweet to also attend my ceremony to ensure my dress looked amazing! I would recommend her to anyone! Best seamstress in town!

I can't recommend Clemencia enough! In fact, I wish there was a 6 star option! You and your dress are in good hands with Clemencia. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and confident in my wedding dress. She could even sense that I was a little uncomfortable with the top of my dress and found a way to add some lace that matched perfectly. Clemencia is a true professional and just immediately put me at ease. She books early in the year so I recommend scheduling an appointment as early as possible- you won't regret it!

Clemencia is the absolute best!

My sister was referred to Clemencia by a friend from work, and she recently tailored my sister's wedding dress and my bridesmaid dress. And she is nothing short of a miracle-worker. Run, don't walk, to hire Clemencia. She was WONDERFUL to work with- she was so helpful in explaining what was possible with the alterations and providing suggestions on how we could make my sister's vision come to life. My sister's dress came out perfectly, and she was absolutely thrilled with the work that Clemencia did. And my bridesmaid's dress fit to perfection after Clemencia worked out it. Clemencia is a fabulous tailor!

Clemencia Bridal was recommended to me by the bridal salon where I got my dress and I’m so glad I got my tailoring done with her! My dress was a little snug around the hips and had an all-lace back that I wanted to have reinforced so it stood flush against my back. I also needed a bustle and I was hoping for one that would complement the lacing of the skirt. Clemencia was warm and welcoming from the start, and she took great care to make sure the dress fit me perfectly. There were details I hadn’t even considered, like hemming the lace trim on the sides of the dress so I wouldn’t step on it, and she made those changes flawlessly, sewing with the pattern of the lace so her changes were invisible. The lace back was perfect, and the bustle accentuated the shape of the dress beautifully. There were some buttons in the bustle that looked odd on the hanger, but the dress looked perfect as soon as I put it on. As if that weren’t enough, Clemencia is incredibly kind and delightful to talk to. Clemencia is a very talented and experienced seamstress and I highly recommend her to any bride!

Clemencia made me feel at home the instant I arrived! Her years of experience as a fitter and bridal assistant become apparent as I watched her unzip and handle my dress. She knew exactly how it needed to be tailored and handled the complex layering beautifully. Warm and welcoming, Clemencia listens to, and cares about her brides and their wedding day experience. My dress is now stunning thanks to her practiced hands and she offered many tips for traveling with the dress as well as what to have on hand day-of. Wonderful experience!

Clemencia is extremely professional and skilled. Although it was the peak of her busy season, she took her time and ensured that my wedding dress fit perfectly over several fittings. She went above and beyond by moving a few flowers on my dress(after checking with me) to a more strategic area of my gown that made it even more beautiful. I would give her a million stars if I could

After my daughter bought her gown at Carine's Bridal , we were very disappointed in how inflexible they were in scheduling my daughters alterations. She lived in NYC and would be in DC 3 times before the wedding and they couldn't accommodate any of the dates. In a panic, we asked around and got Clemancia's name from our totally awesome Bridal Hair by Ramona Soleimani. We were 100% blown away by her workmanship and professionalism. She met with us all 3 dates and we loved her so much we decided to bring her along to the wedding at the Greenbrier. She had a way of taking all the stress away and we knew she would make my daughter and the entire bridal party look like royalty. One of the bridesmaids needed her dress hemmed the morning of, one groomsmen tux was in al ball , and my dress needed some last minute repair and she took care of everything without even asking. If you are looking for someone, book her immediately because she gets very busy. You will not be disappointed.

Absolutely Amazing

Clemencia is simply amazing. Her work is beautiful and she is such a kind and attentative person. My dress had quite a few difficult alterations that needed to be made as it was a size too big for me and she made them all flawlessly. The dress looks perfect. The best decision I made for my wedding (aside from the groom of course)!

I couldn’t be happier or feel more lucky to have had Clemencia with me on my wedding day! Having purchased my dress and had it fitted in Miami 5 weeks before my wedding, I was definitely anxious about it being perfect. From the first phone call Clemencia set my mind at ease and she kept me calm through a few more weeks of emails and calls, advising me to leave my dress in the bag it was shipped in from FL and that she would take care of steaming and preparing it on wedding day. She also offered to prepare all of our parents garments and those of our bridesmaids and groomsmen! This included removing some jewels off of one of the bridesmaid’s dresses, which she did expertly and quickly on the morning of the wedding! Not only did she brave the cold and wind during our photos in order to make sure my dress looked flawless in every shot, but when the top of my train got dirty from all of the walking outside, she whisked me back to my room, removed my dress, and scrubbed the train clean in a matter of minutes! Clemencia is the sweetest and became like a family member during our 6 hours with her and I will be forever grateful to her! If you’re wondering if it’s worth it to hire her, wonder no more and just do it! It will be one of, if not the best decision you make!

Clemencia was referred to us by Love Couture as she was located closer to our home in Loudoun County. From the very beginning, Clemencia was AMAZING! Clemencia is so wonderful and sweet. When I found Clemencia, I was very concerned about my delicate silk Romona Keveza gown I bought off the rack and was about 4 sizes too big and needed a lot of alterations. I was looking for someone very skilled and capable and I absolutely found that in Clemencia. I came to her house and felt very comfortable, and it just so happened that she used to work for my wedding designer years ago! The dress turned out beautifully and even though it was an extremely difficult dress, Clemencia went above an beyond studying my dress to make sure the drapings laid just right, she sewed in boning so my dress wouldn't collapse, and created a bustling system that should qualify her as a Mensa candidate! I greatly appreciated her ingenuity, perfectionism, and eye for beauty. I would absolutely recommend Clemencia for her skills, kindness, and ability to problem solve your toughest dress problems.

Clemencia was amazing!!! She was so sweet and helpful through the whole alterations process. She responded the day I emailed her and communications with her were so easy and quick whenever I needed to reach her. Our daughter's dream wedding dress was designer-made and of a gorgeous, but costly fabric. Unfortunately, it required extensive alterations in order to fit; almost to the point of being re-made. Mrs. Clemencia accomplished this miracle with utterly amazing perception and skill. Our daughter's beautiful, elegant dream wedding dress fit to exquisite perfection. I believe that this stunning transformation required courage (to cut that fabric!), an amazing eye for detail, great initiative: installing needed foundations and offering to custom design a bustle), and an unimaginable amount of tedious handwork. She did it all, while extending herself to our daughter in a warm and charming manner. We are all so very grateful. We would highly recommend this amazingly talented professional, especially to anyone in need of demanding work or in possession of cherished material. Clemencia is downright amazing. I was referred to her by Love Cotoure Bridal for wedding dress alterations and I was SO happy she was able to squeeze me in her busy schedule! Being a girl with curves, my dress was about 3 sizes too big around certain areas of my body and we were able to work towards a solution when I wasn't happy with the original sleeves of my dress. She was able to make my dress fit like a glove and I am incredibly happy with the work she did! It is by far the most confident I have ever felt in a dress before, all thanks to Clemencia. She is absolutely worth every penny and I couldn't have asked for a better seamstress.

I hired Clemencia to alter my ridiculously-complicated-to-alter wedding gown and she did a phenomenal job. After three meetings with her, the dress fit like an absolute dream. She is very good about listening to what you want done and also offering her professional opinion about what can feasibly be done to your dress. Just an FYI, she operates out of her house so you will be in her living room getting changed in and out of your gown, however, it does still feel private. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to alter their wedding dress.

When I picked up my dress from the vendor, I wasn't in love with it. It was fine but it was missing that....that thing that happens when you put on the perfect wedding dress. As they didn't do in-store alterations they referred me to Clemencia.

My first appointment with Clemencia, talking through what I didn't like, what I was envisioning, she immediately saw the vision. She talked through what she could do and helped me see the perfect dress I was hoping for.

She did it. Her work was phenomenal. The length was perfect. The French bustle was immaculate. She sewed on a waist accessory that felt like it was a part of the dress. And the tweak she made to the neckline came out perfectly.

Not to mention she's the sweetest lady.

I could not recommend Clemencia and her work more. Truly.

Clemencia is awesome! She was referred to me by the shop where I got my gown, Love Couture in Potomac, MD. Since I live in Northern VA, it was nice to not have to go all the way to the shop for my alterations. My gown had lots of lace and beading but Clemencia did a perfect job in altering it.

She also makes gorgeous veils. I had one made that trailed the floor and it was such a nice touch to bring my whole look together.

I searched and searched for the best seamstress for my wedding gown and I feel so lucky to have found Clemencia. My dress was VERY difficult... I bought a sample size 10 & she altered it perfectly to a 2-4. Clemencia did such an amazing job, it fits like a glove. She also made a custom veil that matches my dress perfectly. I just had my final fitting with Clemencia and I can truly say, she is a HIDDEN GEM!! I was so pleased to see a suggested seamstress in the Ashburn area when I purchased my wedding gown from Hitched in Georgetown. Now I see why Hitched recommends her. Clemencia is professional, talented and affordable. Not to mention she is the absolute SWEETEST lady. I am so pleased with my alterations. I wish I had known Clemencia can travel the day of to weddings...I would have budgeted in advance to have her attend ours. Only GREAT things to say about Clemencia!! I bought my dress in South Pasadena, California and movied to MD this past summer and did not have a clue who to contact for alterations for my dress. She was recommended to me by a bridal boutique store located in MD. They were booked and gave me Clemencia's contact info. Clemencia also had a busy schedule, but scheduled me in! She was easy to schedule with, kept her appointments and was very flexible on appointment scheduling. She is a sweet, talented lady who has had many years of qualified experience. She is warm and very knowledgeable on dress alterations, veils and advice on care/travel with your wedding gown. She taught my mother how to put the dress on and how to bustle the dress. She is truly a gem. She did a FANTASTIC job on my alterations! She fixed everything I had concerns about and was ture to the original price she quoted me. My dress was complicated to make a bustle for (i.e,. many layers of fabric). Clemencia was very creative and made a way to bustle the dress that looks beautiful! She even made sure the dress and veil was secured properly in the garment bag. I would recommend her to anyone!

My experience with Clemencia was incredible. At first, I was a little concerned about having to go and get the fittings done at her home instead of at the bridal studio but since she was located in northern VA and had incredibly flexible hours on weekends, I availed myself of the opportunity. When I first met her I went alone and Clemencia couldn’t have been any kinder or more inviting. She welcomed me in to her home and immediately started taking care of my dress needs while also chatting with me about my wedding plans and her family. She made the experience personal and fun. I had a special request for a pocket to be sewn in for my insulin pump and asked that it be concealed and not noticeable, she did it and made it so it didn’t conflict with the look of the dress. She also provided me with a beautiful veil that she made herself. I had not considered a veil as I thought it would take away from the beauty of the dress, but she had one made that fit perfectly. My mother who attended the last 2 fittings said for my other 2 sisters weddings, we would be using her services without question. My dress was so beautiful on my wedding day, my husband and multiple guest endlessly expressed how beautiful it was.

I LOVE Clemencia. She made my dress look fabulous and it fit like a glove. I also asked Clemencia to come with me on my wedding day to help the bridal party and the parents get dressed. I'm so glad she came as she helped to press and fold pocket squares and tie ties for the groomsmen as well as steam and iron dresses for my bridesmaids. She also accompanied the groom and myself when we did our first look pictures to make sure we all looked fabulous throughout the photo session. On top of everything else, Clemencia helped us plan our honeymoon in Ecuador (she is from Ecuador)! Our honeymoon was also incredible!

Clemencia did an absolutely amazing job altering my dress. I had purchased a sample dress and needed to have it let out slightly and hemmed. The dress was all lace which didn't make this an easy task!

But she was able to let out the dress and make it look as if there hadn't been any changes at all.

My husband thought I was crazy when I told him I had hired a dresser for our daughter's wedding. Not only were the fittings with our gowns so expert, she even fixed dresses that had been ruined by other dressmakers for us! She is a wealth of knowlege, from the type undergarments to wear with the gowns, type of footies to wear in your shoes, and has a variety of these items stocked in her home for purchase on the spot. At our last fitting, when she was about to attach the blusher to my daughter's veil, we discovered the shop had forgotten the blusher. Clemncia had one for us on the spot.

The day of the wedding, my son-in-law realized he lost his bow tie to his tuxedo. I called Clemncia who had one of the same brand at home and brought it, tied it on him, helped the groomsmen with their boutonnieres, helped the grandfather of the bride into his tuxedo properly. She brought her steamer, steamed not only the bride's gown, but my gown, the mother of the groom's gown, the bridesmaid's gowns, the flower girl's dress and the grandmother of the bride's dress. She proceeded to help us all into our dresses. One of the bridesmaids had lost weight, another had gained some. They switched dresses, but they had a significant height difference. Clemencia hemmed one gown, and somehow lengthened the other on the spot. The dresses had decorative broaches. The maid of honor's broke, and Clemncia attached it to her dress. My mother's wrist corsage was to big, Clemencia took it in.

She dressed Amelia, the bride, with great care, came down to where she was to appear, arranged her train and veil, and when my husband started to escort our daughter, her veil caught on something. Clemencia was there to unobtrusively free the veil, and not one beat was missed.

After the ceremony and before entering the reception, Clemencia bustled Amelia's gown while she went to the bathroom & redressed her before leaving.

My husband said it was the best money spent on the day!!

Clemencia is one of those special people who really cares about what she does. She is patient and skilled, and a perfectionist. Exactly what I needed. She really listened to me. She is hands down the best person I could have found to do the alterations for my dress. There were a few flaws to my dress (even though it was a very expensive designer dress), and Clemencia, being the miracle worker that she is, was able to transform my dress into the most amazingly perfect fitting dress I could've asked for. My dress also had a difficult train to bustle, but she created a beautiful bustle for me. Even though we were tight on time, she made it happen. Everyone at my wedding said I looked stunning. I found out about Clemencia through my hair stylist for my wedding. They apparently had worked on numerous weddings together, as well as magazine shoots. Clemencia was amazing to work with and did a spectacular job on my wedding gown. She was affordable and most important, a master of her craft. She even helped me on very short notice when I stopped by the day before my rehearsal dinner with a dress I needed completely reconstructed for the following day. She did it in a crunch, and everything turned out beautifully and just as I envisioned. I recommend her services to everyone! She's fantastic.

From reading her bio, you can immediately tell that Clemencia is talented and experienced. I was desperately seeking alterations to my wedding dress, as well as a boucle installation since the in-house seamstress at the salon from where I purchased my dress was not highly recommended. I found Clemencia via a search in Washingtonian magazine, where her handy-work is frequently featured. I also gave her an extra time challenge, as she only had three weeks notice to work on my dress (I was cutting it way too close). Clemencia is very pleasant and professional. And the millions of layers of tulle on my dress were no challenge for her! The length was perfect, I did not trip or stumble the whole day. And the boucled dress added extra wow factor! I consider myself lucky and privileged to have had such a prestigious and acclaimed seamstress make my dress even more unique and just for me. Thank you Clemencia!

Clemencia is such a joy to work with and did an absolutely amazing job. I bought my dress off the rack so it needed some unique alterations to make it fit properly. Clemencia was a special service we decided at the last minute to hire. She did the alterations for my daughter's wedding dress and my dress. She mentioned that she had a service on the day of the wedding. She would come to the hotel and assist the Bride and the wedding party with any needed repairs, pressing of dresses, tuxedos, etc. Then come to the wedding site and be available to assist in any way. Well, thank goodness she was with us. One Bridesmaid's dress needed major alterations, and one Groomsman needed his tuxedo pants hemmed, in addition to the Bride's dress needing to be steamed. So, I would suggest that Clemencia's service be considered on the wedding day! We would highly recommend her for alterations and wedding day services.

Clemencia is truly a miracle worker! I wish every bride was as lucky as I, and could experience not only the work that Clemencia does but her calming and kind nature. Clemencia is truly an amazing presence to have on your wedding day! Not only does she come with every clothing fix she has needed in her career, but she is a calming, warm influence. One of my bridesmaids bought her dress too small for her bust and was so self-conscious. Clemencia took the teeny tiny bit of fabric there was to let out and helped her feel gorgeous. She was one of the last people to see me before I walked down the aisle and she made me feel like the beautiful woman every girl wants to feel like before walking down the aisle. I highly recommend her and think her price is a steal for the hours of work she will do on your behalf.

We could not have been luckier when we were looking for someone to make a complicated alteration to my daughter's wedding dress and a close friend told us about Clemencia. Upon meeting her for the first time, we knew we had a gem! She exuded warmth and began to go to work immediately. The dress needed to have gussets put in both sides of the bustier which was made of a sequined fabric. You would never have known there had been any alteration. She also fashioned a beautiful bustle fastened with precious covered buttons. Not only were they nearly invisible, but also (with her training!) the bustle was easy to manipulate.

Clemencia also made her veil which included a blusher. It was "simply elegant", and the design complimented her dress beautifully.

We never worried that she would not be ready for a fitting when scheduled which was important to us since my daughter was living in Chicago and had to fly in for her fittings. Everything was done on time and to perfection. I look forward to working with her when my other daughter gets married. She is a true professional.

Clemencia was absolutely AMAZING to work with! After Priscilla's shut down, I was left to find my own seamstress for alternations. I found Clemencia's name and I couldn't have been happier. My dress looks gorgeous and she was so sweet! She is very flexible, responsive, and hard working. She really does all she can to make sure a bride's dress and experience are PERFECT! Clemencia altered my daughter's wedding gown and we could not have had a better experience. She was professional, had exceptional attention to detail, and was a joy to work with. Clemencia is fantastic! She is truly a gifted seamstress and does amazing work! She was referred to me by another bride who had her mother's wedding dress totally reworked so she could wear it for her own wedding day. It looked AMAZING!
For my wedding, Clemencia was excellent as well. My dress was very form-fitted and Clemencia did such a wonderful job that it looked as if the designer of the dress actually made it personally for me!!
I also had Clemencia come the day of my wedding (optional - for a fee). It was well worth it. She helped steam and iron my dress and veil, and she helped the bridemaids, the mother of the bride and the father of the bride with their outfits (steaming, ironing, last minute tailoring, etc.). The best was when she stitched up a gaping whole in my dad's tux. He had caught it on something while we were taking photographs, and she was able to stitch it up right there beside the church before we walked down the aisle. She was a lifesaver!
Clemencia is truly amazing! I've already recommended her to a number of friends.

I chose to wear my mother's wedding dress, but the 1981 lace-and-chiffon piece needed some "updating" before my Big Day. We came to Clemencia through a recommendations by Rizik's in downtown DC and it has been a joy to work with her!

Clemencia is warm, honest, and talented beyond the sewing machine. She has worked with hundreds of brides and her professional experience shows. She listens patiently, and doesn't impose her own ideas but really focuses on what exactly the bride is trying to articulate. I brought her my mother's dress and two pictures -- one of a dress's front, another of a different dress's back -- and Clemencia was able to fuse those three design elements together to create not only the dress of my dreams but also a dress that respects the integrity of the original design. She also reworked the way the bustle pins up, and the result can only be described as a work of art.

Clemencia also created a veil that perfectly compliments the dress, and was able to remove some 29-year-old stains from when it was my mother's. She also was able to recommend undergarments that gave my figure the best shape for the dress's designs. I not only feel beautiful and well-figured, but also comfortable and reception-ready.

My mother and I enjoyed working with her so much that we've asked her to come help with the wedding in March -- a unique service of hers we are excited to take advantage of. Nobody knows the dress more intimately than Clemencia, so it only makes sense she will be present to steam the dress in the bridal suite prior to the ceremony, stay through pictures to ensure the dress falls as it was designed to fall, and through dinner and dancing when the dress must be bustled, etc.

I couldn't feel more comfortable heading into my wedding day and cannot recommend Clemencia's services more.

Clemencia completely transformed my wedding gown from a strapless bustier into a dress with a three quarter length sleeve and fully covered. She also hand-applied beadwork and trimming. The dress turned out beautifully. The work was incredibly professional and flawless. She worked with me on several occassions to get the fit perfect. She's very flexible and can come to you or you can come to her home depending on your schedule and your ability to pay a relatively small fee for her to come to you.
Overall, I could not have been happier. I would definitely use her again, but of course, not for another wedding dress! :)

Clemencia was absolutely amazing and she is so extremely talented at her skill. I had a very fitted, lace fit-and flare gown that was quite large on me in several areas. I had spent so much money on the gown, and was worried that it didn't look how it wanted it to because it appeared to be 'hanging off me' in certain areas. After the initial fitting with Clemencia, she took in the waist without compromising the lace pattern, altered the shoulder straps and turned it into such a structured, fitted gown that fit my body like a glove :) She also created such a beautiful bustle on my dress...unlike one I have ever seen. Clemencia is warm and welcoming and will make you feel confident and stunning in your gown. She is truly a miracle-worker :)

I bought a Hailey Paige dress and the bustle was VERY complex because of how many layers it had, but Clemencia did a fabulous job. She is definitely a seasoned professional. I am a very petite girl so the dress needed a lot of alterations done and the bustle had to be done properly so that it wouldn't look excessively poofy and swallow me up. It looked fabulous. Clemencia is definitely going to be one of the more expensive people to go to, but her experience level and talent echo the old phrase "you get what you pay for."

Clemencia does excellent work and provided wonderful advice in preparation for my wedding. She is a must-have for any bride-to-be for her alteration services--she made my dress look perfect on me, and I received many compliments about how my dress looked, and I know it was because of her expertise! Clemencia was incredible. Right from the moment I put my dress on for her, I could tell that she was extremely experienced and really "knew" wedding dresses and would do highly skilled work on my dress. I had three fittings, and the dress was perfect. She even went "above and beyond" by adding little things to make the dress more comfortable and less fragile the day of the wedding, like invisible elastic around some lace parts to ensure it wouldn't tear when I was dancing. The only little snafoo with the dress was that the bustle button popped off during the reception, so I had to safety pin it up. I had been dancing a lot though, so who knows if there's anything that could have been done differently about that.

While Clemencia's work is amazing and she is incredibly sweet, I was surprised to arrive at her house to find that there was no fitting room or changing area other than her front living room. It was still very private and fine, but I probably would have liked to know that ahead of time. It's an incredibly small price to pay, though, for a dress that fits you like a glove on your wedding day!
