Best wedding
We had the best experience! The staff was wonderful and accommodating. The location was amazing, and the food was to die for! Everything was of the best quality and we could not have asked for a better wedding. -

From the moment we started working with the Marriott, we have had the best experience. We worked with Jenna, the sales manager, a lot and she was also so responsive and helpful with anything we needed. I honestly was not stressed the week of the wedding because I felt like she was so helpful and trusted her to make sure all of my requests were met. She even came to our welcome reception to greet our guests and hand them drink tickets. A few weeks before the wedding, we met Dan, the banquet coordinator, who was absolutely fantastic and so helpful in helping us envision our room set up. He stayed the day before our wedding to set up the room early and it was flawless. He stood at the door of our reception when guests arrived to help direct them to their seats. His hard work and dedication to what he does was truly evident. I feel that Jenna and Dan truly went above and beyond to ensure we had our dream wedding.
Joanna was also very helpful with our wedding room block as she is very responsive and quickly assisted with anyone hotel room needs for either my guests or myself. All of the hotel staff including front desk, valet, bartenders, servers etc were also amazing throughout our stay. We got SO many compliments from our guests about how welcoming, friendly, and helpful all the Marriott staff was. Even the maids were amazing and so warm and welcoming.
From the moment we arrived at the Marriott for our wedding weekend, we were greeted by Wilmer, who was beyond helpful is unloading our car and transferring multiple items into our hotel room and he was present throughout the weekend to assist us with any other needs we had. Also, Rick and Ricardo were amazing bartenders, super friends, accommodating and truly helped to make our wedding into a full weekend event full of fun and everlasting memories.
All in all I could not have asked for a better weekend with the support of the Marriott!! I would recommend this group to anyone and hope to be back to visit again soon! The venue itself is beautiful and we had a pool party the next day that all of our guests really enjoyed too!

Wow! Where do I even start. The venue is gorgeous and is one of the few places in the Bay Area that can hold a medium to large wedding with a direct water view without stepping on the beach- this was our main draw to this location but far exceeded our expectations. We initially worked with Jess who was fantastic but she moved on to a different job earlier this year. Grace Owens took over and blew us away. She made the transition easy and made sure we were all on the same page with everything we had spoken about with Jess. I showed her my vision of what I wanted the day to look like and we were both excited! She was easy to work with and kept us updated and various points. They have a set menu for food, but did allow customization for our appetizers! We did not hire a wedding planner as my mom and I planned everything, but Grace and Dan (Banquet manager) went above and beyond wedding weekend. They helped setup the room how I envisioned (from folding the napkins a specific way to setting up my sweetheart table based on a Pinterest picture and everything in between) and made my fairy tale wedding come true! I could have not asked for better people to work with. And the staff was such a delight. Although we made it to our cocktail hour, we were trying to thank everyone and didn't have time to eat before our sunset pictures and one of the servers saw this, stopped us asked what we wanted to eat. He grabbed a large plate of it, brought it to the lobby so that we could down it real quick, and told us to leave it when we were done. These are just examples of things staff did that were above and beyond. It wasn't just isolated towards us, we got multiple compliments from our guests that staff was very accommodating and professional. If you want a place that has a gorgeous view, excellent people to work with that can be trusted, staff that is professional and delightful to everyone, and can make your wedding dreams come true book with the Marriott! Not to mention the perks of having your friends and family stay at the hotel and getting to celebrate with them the entire weekend! Seriously, can't speak highly enough- thank you to everyone at the Marriott (especially Grace and Dan)! -

Clearwater Beach Mariott Suites on Sand Key was AMAZING! Every person we encountered from the front desk, the valet guys, the bell hops, the waiters, the bartenders, all the way to our AMAZING!!!!! Wedding coordinator Danielle! Everyone was amazing & accomindating to us & every single guest we had from New York! Everyone raved about the hotel, the venue, the food, & everything about the hotel & the wedding! We couldnt have been happier about the venue we chose! Highly recommend this venue and staff! We LOVED our whole wedding weekend at this Marriott! We had a bumpy start, however everything worked out excellent the weekend of. Along the way, we were switched to 3 different Sales and Catering Managers (due to turnover). Additionally, the room booking manager would only release up to 3 rooms at a time in our block, and given that it was a destination wedding, it often showed our block as "sold out" when it was not, which resulted in us having to make several phone calls, my family and bridesmaids also calling, and the room booking manager never returned any of our calls. However, once Amy Kirkwood took over as the newest Sales/Catering Manager, we had a 180 turnaround with our experience, including her working with the booking manager to make some shifts. She was INCREDIBLE to work with! She was prompt, responsiveness, and followed up on everything we asked about/for. Fast forward to the day of the wedding and Amy was available whenever I needed her. The staff at the Marriott was TOP NOTCH, and we were on a first name basis with everyone from valet, check-in, bar managers, servers, etc.! Our guests also all commented on how friendly and fun the staff was, and what a great time they had at the hotel. We honestly felt like VIPs all weekend. We truly could not have asked for a better or more beautiful venue. The veranda for the ceremony was breathtaking (and we were allowed to decorate the arch, chairs, etc. how we wanted). The space for the reception was wonderful, as we had the ballroom and the whole hallway outside to ourselves. Our guests still comment about how much they loved the venue, and my husband and I are making plans to try and come back for our 1 year anniversary. Thank you all for such an amazing weekend! -

It is a BEAUTIFUL venue for a wedding reception. Every wedding I've ever been to something has gone wrong. NOTHING went wrong at our wedding and it was perfect and beautiful and ran so smooth. Danielle was so awesome and she made sure everything ran so smoothly and also let us decorate the place with "extras" however we wanted. The lady that set up the room even asked us an opinion on the way the napkins were set up. We did our ceremony on the beach through a vendor that this Marriott recommends (Beach Wedding by Jules) and our beach wedding ceremony was absolutely perfect! The marriott staff is awesome and they were so nice to all our guests even those not staying in the hotel. It is a stunning reception venue and it's perfect! -

Jena was phenomenal to work with, she responded quickly to emails and calls and made me feel very at ease especially towards the end. The Marriott is a beautiful venue, we were able to have our cocktail hour outside on the patio which was gorgeous. The room size was perfect for our group of 100 and the dance floor was huge! Everyone loved the food and the service. I wouldn't change a thing if I had to do it all over again! -

The whole Marriott staff was very helpful, accommodating and GREAT to work with. It was my daughter's wedding and they did everything possible to make it a wonderful experience and time. I hope to go back to this location for just a vacation at some point.

The Marriott Suites on Sand Key was a phenomenal place for our wedding weekend! Jena was our coordinator and helped walk me through the entire process and constantly checked in the day of to ensure that everything was running smoothly. The entire staff the day of was so polite and truly made our special day one to remember. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a waterfront ceremony as it has that, without all the sand! -

The Marriott is the best and most accommodating hotel. Sara Huberty was fabulous and so professional. She went above and beyond coordinating our wedding. When our florist didn't show up, she took care of it for us and saved the day! This hotel's staff and Sara are simply amazing. My family, friends and I highly recommend them for your wedding or for a beach weekend. They're awesome!

I loved this venue - it fit exactly what we wanted for our wedding - elegant but casual. Lauren Heinz, our coordinator, worked with us every step of the way. She answered every question we had and within hours. As a DIY Bride - this was very important to me. I am most grateful that even though the weather looked iffy for our ourdoor ceremony, Lauren was ready at a moment's notice to accommodate our wishes (indoor or outdoor ceremony). Luckily we were able to have the ceremony outdoors as planned. The food was outstanding - not what you expect from a wedding. Many of our guests commented on how good the food was and stated that they wished they had doggie bags - LOL!
The whole process from booking the venue to the tasting to the wedding itself was flawless. The Marriott Sand Key was outstanding and we thank them for making our wedding spectacular!
We look forward to coming back here year after year to celebrate our anniversary. -

We had our December wedding at the Marriott and it was a great venue. It was the largest wedding they ever had (240 guests) but did a fantastic job. Throughout the planning Lauren was very well organized and responded to questions quickly. Overall, we were extremely satisfied and would recommend the Marriott to all Brides! -

Lauren and the team at the Marriott could not have done a better job. Lauren put every detail we talked about into action and was so helpful and organized! From the moment we arrived at the hotel everyone was so friendly and the staff was excellent. The food at our cocktail hour and reception was the best wedding food EVER. I recommend the Filet Mignon and the Florida Grouper which both come from the award winning WaterColors restaurant in the hotel. They were delicious!! The Marriott exceeded my expectations in every way! Thank you!! -

We reside in Ft. Lauderdale FL, but I am originally from NJ & my husband NC so after about 6 months of searching for the perfect vendor in Ft. Lauderdale, we decided to take the 5 hour drive and take a change on the Marriott Sand Key & we couldn't be more thankful we did. We walked in and knew instantly that this was it, this was the place we were going to become husband and wife. The hotel at the time was even a little bit out dated, but by the time the wedding came around we were absolutely amazed by all the remodeling they did. It was perfect! When we signed we were originally working with Courtney who we loved, then we got a phone call saying she was transferred and we would now be working with Lauren Heinz. Let me tell you how nervous I was because It was top of my list on choosing a location. But when I tell you she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING I mean she was nothing short of that. She was always there to talk to when we had a question and did everything she could for us prior and during the wedding. I knew of other friends that got married at other Marriott hotels, and they had to set up all their stuff (card table, centerpieces etc) themselves, but Lauren collected all my stuff day before and handled it all herself, & everything looked absolutely amazing. It didn't matter to her what anyone else said, she knew what I wanted and made sure I got it! It was truly a pleasure to work with her, and if I ever have another big event I plan on going back just because I enjoyed so much working with Lauren. Thank you again, for all your hard work for our special day..we will be forever grateful! :) -

Lauren and the rest of the Marriott staff were exceptional! My family and I were so happy we choose the Marriott Sand Key for our reception, they far exceeded our expectations. Everyone was very friendly to us and all of our guests, very professional, and willing to go above and beyond for whatever we needed or wanted the entire time we were there. Lauren made sure every detail was set and everything I asked for she made happen. I was beyond happy with the service and would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone looking for a great place to have their wedding reception or any other event for that manner. My friends and family (some of who traveled a good distance to be in town for our wedding weekend) continuously gave us compliments on how beautiful our wedding was, how great the service was and of course how great the food tasted (The chef did an AMAZING job on our dinner, the portions and quality were amazing!!!). We were a little concerned at first because our original coordinator left a few months before out event but Lauren completely took over and made sure everything was perfect for me and my guests! Overall I was VERY VERY HAPPY with the venue and Lauren our event coordinator -

This was the best decision we made. Our wedding reception was the best EVER! Lauren was there for us when ever we needed her. She really went over the top to make sure our day was special. Our guest are still calling and emailing to let us know our wedding was the best one they have ever been to.

Our wedding experience with Lauren Heinz at the Sand Key Marriott, Clearwater Beach, FL could not have been more delightful. Lauren was very knowledgeable with the surrounding vendors (flowers, cake, etc.) and her recommendations were nothing but perfect. This helped tremendously with our destination wedding. Any questions we had were promptly answered and she was very accomodating with our requests.
Our reception was located on their Cedarwood Terrace and the set-up was exactly what we had envisioned. It looked like a set-up from a magazine and our guests were in awe. (They are all still talking about it :) Lauren made sure everything was perfect and checked in on us throughout the night (which was very comforting in our eyes)
Our overall experience with the Marriott was wonderful and stress free! The staff made us feel right at home with their warm hospitality.
I highly recommend Lauren to every bride out there as well as the Sand Key Marriott! Great people and great hotel.

The Marriott (Lauren) was wonderful to work with. She did everything she could to accomodate us. We were supposed to have the reception outside and due to the weather being too cold, she was able to switch things all around and get us a room inside. The reception was fabulous!! -

I absolutely loved working with them!!! I went from having a small family reception to a great wedding party thanks to them... prices are so reasonable and the environment is so romantic and perfect for pictures.. the food awesome.. the events coordinator Courtney is awesome!! she understands everything you want and she is willing to work with you in every little detail!! I will always be thankful for all her help on my Big Day!! I looked for venues for almost a year until I finally found this one!! My wedding was perfect I wish I could put pictures here :) -

I had a beautiful ceremony at the Marriott. I had to plan all of this from out of state, so they were quick to respond to questions and answer emails. The ceremony was outside on the veranda deck. I was worried about the other guests in the hotel and at the pool being loud, but the Marriott did a fantastic job at keeping everyone respectful and quiet. I would come back there in a heartbeat. -

We had our wedding reception at the Marriott on Sand Key. We did not visit before the weekend of our wedding, so we were unsure of how smoothly it would go and how nice the place would be. We were amazed by the location. The hotel was gorgeous and the room we had was perfect for us with a beautiful view. The staff was excellent-beyond excellent even. They exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable. They truly helped make our special day memorable and amazing for all who attended. -

The Marriott was a wonderful place to have our cocktail and wedding reception. Our guest also stayed here. The customer service of all hotel staff was excellent. The venue is beautiful....on the water over looking the Gulf. Aside from it's beauty, Ms. Desiree Jacobs, wedding coordinator from hotel, was magnificent. She went above and beyond to make our day extra, extra special. The level of expertise, professionalism, and enthusiasm was evident in everything she did. She worked closely with MMD Events (our decorators) to make the venue become the dream, fall on the beach wedding, we wanted. Desiree responded diligently to questions or concerns. She helped our dream come true. We had guests from TX, MA, CT, NJ, NY, Santo Domingo and FL and we were all amaze by the comfort, beauty, and service of the hotel. Suites are very comfortable and the view is breathtaking at any time of the day! It rained the day of the wedding and the hotel staff worked rapidly on getting the back up indoor set up...at the end, the sun came out and the wedding took place outside on the deck over looking the Gulf! It's breathtaking!!! It was beautiful. The food was fabulous and the Mojitos---like we never had before. Thank you Desiree Jacobs and the Marriott Suites for such a beautiful event! The Marriott on Sand Key is a wonderful place to have your wedding reception. I searched all throughout Clearwater Beach area for a vendor that provided a top notch venue, menu and open bar, without breaking the bank. Many places do not have a wedding coordinator, which is a huge advantage since you are not dealing with the catering director or someone else that is extremely busy doing other things. Also, you get a lot of bang for your buck at the Marriott. At an average cost of $70/person we were able to get cocktail hour appetizers, open bar for four hours, sit down dinner, cake cutting & serving and the great service of the wedding coordinator.
Everything on the day of the wedding went extremely smooth. It is fantastic having a coordinator there. I forgot to add one last minute person to a table and within a few minutes Lauren had a chair and place setting added for him. It was amazing. The wait staff was absolutely delightful as well.
We were most impressed with the quality of the dinner we received. We chose the steak and chicken (roast sirloin and bruschetta chicken). The steak was so tender we did not even need more than a butter knife to cook it!
I have recommended this venue to other people I know and hope you consider it for your future wedding :) -

Each and every staff member at the Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites on Sand Key went above and beyond our wildest expectations! The property itself was incredibly beautiful with one of the coolest pool areas I've ever seen. Antonio's Spa, which is attached to the property, pampered me on my wedding day from a manicure/pedicure, a mini-facial, and finally my wedding hair. It was truly the perfect way to relax before I walked down the aisle.
Courtney Fitzgerald, the wedding planner and sales manager, was with us every step of the way from the day we got engaged all the way until the wedding day. The banquet manager, Tom, didn't let one little detail go unaccounted for and ensured that everything went perfectly! Without a doubt, they made the wedding of our dreams come true and we'll never forget our experience there. -

Wonderful experience for reception
We hosted our wedding reception here. Dana was our coordinator and was wonderful. The cocktail hour on the veranda was beautiful, the reception room was perfect, the hotel rooms lovely, and our guests could not say enough about the amazing FOOD. Seriously... never eaten anything so tasty. Their restaurant is fabulous and you won't be let down (we opted for the buffet and I'm so glad because everyone went back for seconds). Highly recommend. -

Lauren was a pleasure to work with and tried to please the bride and her mother as much as possible. Two issues we needed help with we're beyond her control. I would recommend this venue

The Marriott on Sand Key did a wonderful job of helping to make longtime memories for my dad's 90th birthday party. It was a pleasure to work with Lauren Heinz, our event planner. She was most cordial and professional, bending over backwards to help us. I feel that all who were involved in the setting up of the tables and equipment were most helpful as well. The food was delicious. Yes, I would make a positive recommendation to others.

We were supposed to have a beach wedding but rain ruined that plan. The hotel was very accommodating and helped us get moved indoors. The food at the reception was great and the overall service was fantastic. -

We had our reception at the Marriott and it was absolutely fabulous. From the beginning the wedding coordinator, Desiree, worked with us to plan every detail. We used a lot of the vendors on their preferred vendor list and was not dissappointed in any one. The day of the wedding was perfect. I had hair and make-up done at the Spa on site, was let into our room early. we come back for pictures, had a cocktail reception outside and the most amazing reception inside. The staff was so great. They were all so kind and courteous and went out of their way to do things for us. They were all so friendly. The views are beautiful, the food was excellent, and we had a great room to spend our first night together. We will visit the Marriott again because of the excellent service and beautiful hotel with great pool and activities. -

Our event was actually a wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party for the wedding guests. It turned out to be just perfect! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Everyone had a great time. Lauren Heinz was extremely helpful to me and very accomodating as it is difficult to plan something from such a long distance away. She answered all of my questions and made the planning as smooth as possible. Of course your hotel provided a very beautiful enviornment for our event as well as our stay. Thank you for all of the attention to details -

Lovely views of the inter-coastal waterway, great pool area with amazing landscaping--if you consider it's a small wedge of land! It looks amazing and airy.
Great little café which serves Starbucks coffee :) and goodies. I am mostly fanatical about their salon, they are awesome. Make sure you visit them for an appointment. The stylist who did my hair was amazing. Very nicely appointed space, and very kind staff.
All and all a nice place to send our first evening as Husband and Wife! -

We were not very pleased with the hotel. Things started off bad with the room blocks. We had signed the contract and were told the room block was ready and people could start booking. A couple weeks later when our guests started to try to make reservations they weren't able too because the hotel said they had no block set aside for us. We tried to contact them numerous times to get an answer and no one could help us. Eventually, they went through someone's desk and found our paperwork and got things straightened out. I don't think the rooms were worth the money we spent though and my husband and I found cockroaches in our room on the wedding night.
We also rented a room to have our reception and were not pleased with that. The table decor they provided was nice but the service was terrible. There were some misunderstandings and they had refused to give us forks. And they wouldn't give us more clean plates for the cake. We finally got some forks out of them but they were very rude. Our contract also said that there would be pitchers of water and ice tea on every table and that did not happen. There was a glass of water but it was warm and they never came to refill them and there was never any ice tea.
They had also called us cheap. We were not very pleased with them. -

I am from Canada and decided to get married in Clearwater as I loved the area. After much consideration I decided to host my wedding at the Marriott. All my guests were from Canada as well and all decided to stay at the Marriott. The hotel experience was okay, the wedding service however was horrible. From the beginning, dealing with the wedding co-ordinator was difficult, but I put everything aside as I thought as long as when I get there and its perfect, I will be happy. The day we arrived, we had set a meeting with our wedding coordinator (which was confirmed twice). When we showed up, to our surprise she was not in that day. Then the day of the wedding everything was a disaster, my reception "had" to be held inside due to weather, but then when asked why the other wedding could have there reception outside, I was told "its because the bride cried!!! I saw my wedding coordinator once on the day of my wedding. I had many concerns and she was no where to be found. The next day we talked to the hotel and no one seemed to care. I sent a letter afterwards and got no response. We used our old traditional family cakes knifes for our wedding cake, the next day and for the remainder of our stay we asked several times if we could have them returned. The hotel kept telling us we had to wait for the wedding coordinator to return (which was not until after we left). Upon returning home, I sent emails asking for them back and we were told they would look into it, we never received them :( I very seldom complain about services I have received, but there was just too many mistakes made by this hotel. -
