Exceptionally talented HMU in Seattle area
Christy and her assistant helped me, my 2 friends, and my mom on my wedding day. I had my engagement make up and bridal trial make up with her as well and enjoyed the process while working with her. Christy made the process really easy and carefully curated the look I want while providing skincare tips throughout the sessions. My photographer consistently complimented on the naturalness of my make up and hair - both were styled by Christy. During the day of my wedding, I was running 15 mins behind but Christy and her assistant still managed to finish all our make up and hair on time. One of my friend accidentally damaged her hair due to improper use of curls, Christy immediately jumped in to help her correct her hair. If you're seeking a natural / soft glam look for your wedding day and an artist who knows how to work with east asian skin types, I highly recommend Christy. -

Christy and her team were amazing to work with. She made sure to listen to my preferences, and created a natural look that looked like my face, but better! Everything lasted the whole night, and didn't budge. She also gave me a touchup kit, filled with q-tips, a sponge, lipstick, and bobby pins to make sure I looked good the entire night. My bridesmaids and mothers felt gorgeous as well. We also asked them so many questions about products to use and their techniques, and they never hesitated to answer and give us their insider knowledge. With our mothers being Chinese/Taiwanese, they were able to chat with Christy and her artists and feel at ease while getting ready. I'm already eyeing the personal makeup class with Christy! You won't regret hiring her for your wedding! -

Christy and Stephanie did an amazing job with making myself and my bridesmaids and mothers feel so beautiful. From the makeup trial to my actual day, the experience was amazing. They were able to deliver exactly what I wanted and were able to pay attention to all the details for our makeup and hair. The atmosphere was comfortable and their attentiveness was exceptional. If you need a makeup artist and hair stylist for your special day, do not look any farther, Christy and Stephanie are the best duo and work seamlessly together to make you feel the most beautiful. -

Christy and her team did hair and makeup for my Woodinville wedding in August for me and my wedding party. She was highly recommended by my wedding planner, and I absolutely loved working with her and her team. Being someone of Asian descent, it was important for me to find someone who could understand how to enhance my features while keeping the makeup natural and clean. She was also very professional and provided great tips on skin and hair care for the months leading up to the wedding. She had lots of experience with the venue and adjusted the makeup accordingly to fit the lighting of the space. She also provided a makeup kit for touching up throughout the evening which was very helpful. Communication was excellent. I would recommend Christy K for any special event. -

As part of the LGBTQ community, I was a bit nervous about finding a markup artist to take care of my husband and myself on our big day. Unlike most her clients, we two "gentlemen" here who had never wore any serious makeup in our lives but wanted to look "good" on our wedding, but at the same time we were worried if we were overdoing it to have makeup on. Through other friends, we found Christy. Oh boy we were so glad she was there help us! Through the trail-out, she discovered our combination-but-more-oily skin type needed more attention in oil/shine control. Right there she taught us how to take care of our skin and prepare it for the big day months before. She checked in with us in regular basis encourage us to follow her recommended skin-care regiments. On the wedding day, she did such a wonderful job that the makeup that my husband and i wore was so natural but yet made us look so radiant on our photos! Even more magically, the makeup lasted & stayed fresh for hours, as if our oily skin had no impact what-so-ever to makeup!! Our wedding was a very modest one, and we didn't spend much but only chose to hire the photographer to capture that every moment of the evening. I am so glad that I also hired Christy to take care our makeup needs! Because of her talents, as well as being so open-minded and professional, we were able to "shine" on the most important of our lives! Thank you Christy!! -

Christy is amazing! For any brides browsing the web right now looking for a make up artist, I would highly recommend Christy and her team. They did hair and make up for myself and the moms and honestly looking at the pictures I can't believe it still looked so good after all the tears/sweat. Because our wedding was in July, I was sweating and honestly cried through most of my speeches and my make up still looked amazing at the end of the night for the last pictures we took. The experience from beginning to end was great! Also my mother in law has very short hair and Stephanie prepared a clip on bun that she absolutely loved! She was sad about her short hair and we didn't even request/think about a clip on bun being a solution so she was extremely happy. -

Finding an Asian hair and makeup artist is hard in the Seattle area. I could not find a more established/ professional hair/makeup artist than Christy K. We had a trial session of makeup that made me book. She is very attentive and detail oriented. She gave me a list of beauty routine to follow and suggested several products that helped my skin/hair be at the best condition on the wedding day. She drove (she can drive ~30 miles of distance from Seattle area without charge - which is a huge plus) to my AirBNB and did makeup/hair for me and our moms. The process was very smooth, efficient- and we were done ~ 1 hr before our proposed time. Sweet (better than being late)! I loved working with her and I heard many compliments on the wedding day. Highly recommended! -

Thanks to Christy + Team!
I first heard about Christy through my friend who got married a couple years before me. Christy did such an amazing job on her and I made a mental note at that time that I had to book Christy when it came time for my wedding. When I reached out to her earlier this year, she was fully booked to my disappointment (not surprising, because she is so heavily sought after!) However, with a stroke of luck, I reached out again last minute a month before my wedding, and she was free! Because of changes due to COVID, there were a lot of things I was stressed out about, but my wedding day turned out to be such a special and memorable event. Thanks to Christy + her team, I felt beautiful and confident on the big day. I had my hair + makeup done, and my bridesmaids had their makeup done. Christy has such a talent in doing natural asian looks (nothing overly heavy where you don't feel like yourself anymore) and her team took extra cleanliness measures in regards to COVID this year. They were very clean and professional as well! I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a quality makeup artist! -

Christy was such a joy to work with! She is sooo talented, I truly felt like a princess when she was done with me.She did BOTH my hair and makeup. Give her a picture or tell her the idea of what you want and she is able to make it happen! I asked her to make an updo for my wedding bridal photoshoot and to make it in a way that I could easily put it half down for when we do family photos after and she was able to do it! She even let me borrow a pair of earrings since I forgot mine with my wedding attire. She is so wonderful! HIGHLY recommended! -

For my wedding, I knew I have to find an Asian artist. I've heard many sad stories from my Asian friends who made the mistake of hiring mainstream artists for their big day - the main style tends to be too heavy for Asians' liking - too much eye shadow, too much contour, too much highlight, and worst of all, the fake eyelash is like a wall of brushes. It may look good from far away, but the close up is too dramatic, as if we are no longer ourselves. I was looking for feminine, soft, and natural looking makeup that amplifies one's beauty but still stays true to oneself. I'm so glad I found Christy - she understood and executed exactly what I was looking for! The makeup was beautiful yet natural looking (the eyelash she uses is from Taiwan, not like a heavy brush, but delicate lashes). It also does not smear easily. I had my makeup in the morning - my elopement included several hours of photo shoot, by the time we got home, it was 7pm but it did not smear at all. Not even the eye shadow. It stayed for the whole day! Christy did a groom touch up with my husband too - covering a minor birthmark on one side of his face and styled his hair.
Aside from her work, Christy is also a warn and agreeable person. The first time I met her was for my makeup trial. We met at her house. To be honest, I was a bit insecure when I rang the doorbell. I'm entering someone's home and would be sitting face to face for an hour - what type of person would she be, would she be warm, welcoming, or cold, quiet? Would it be an awkward hour? it turned out Christy was quite easy going, she talked softly too. The vibe around her eased me quickly.
I'll definitely come back to Christy for future events / photo sessions. Can't wait to work with her again!! -

Amazing hair and makeup service
I have Christy doing my wedding hair and makeup and her team for my wedding party and I love the service so much!
1. They are great at listening to your requirements and finding a look that is suitable for you and beautiful on pictures. All of my friends and family said I looked amazing and I had to give so much credit to Christy and her team for the compliments!
2. Christy prepared me up from months before the wedding day. She had very detailed skin care advice sent to us as soon as I contacted her for the service. I did a makeup trial but I didn't change much of the style from the trial and it looked very natural and beautiful on pictures. I also had my hair dyed 2 weeks before as she suggested.
3. Very stable look on the day and flexible services. I told myself not to cry too much on the wedding day to stay pretty but I still did:( but the makeup still look great at the end of the day and I got to be true to my emotions on my wedding at the same time! They are also very flexible and accommodating with some situations I had such as me being late for 15 minutes (sorry!) and my mother-in-law did her makeup already while my mother wanted to do her hair etc.. I have to thank Christy and her team so much for making my wedding day worry-free!
My bridesmaids also loved the hair and makeup her team did. The look was very beautiful yet true to themselves! I would definitely recommend Christy for all wedding makeup and hair services! -

Being Korean-American, it is hard to find a good wedding makeup artist geared toward younger brides and I was so glad I was able to find her. I would definitely recommend her! -

Christy and her team were amazing for my wedding. A very important part of the wedding was my bridesmaids individuality and I really feel like they cared and they definitely delivered in quality. I have been in a few weddings were everyone's makeup was very cookie-cutter, and I understand making the bride feel special because I was a bride myself and I wanted to feel special. But everyone had what they wanted and looked spectacular and I still felt beautiful. I highly recommend Christy to do wedding makeup! -

This is a very overdue review but I have to say Christy is EXCELLENT and I would hire her again in a heartbeat!! My now-husband first hired her for our proposal shoot (it also happened to be our 3 year dating anniversary so I just thought he was pampering me!). It’s very hard to find a makeup artist who is good at Asian makeup/hair – we have very different facial structures and skin tone that does not work with the western makeup style. But Christy knows what she is doing. She just looked at my face and started mixing different foundation shades and was able to match my skin tone perfectly to have that natural look I wanted! I didn’t even say much except that I wanted to natural look and she was able to work her magic. I also struggle with breaking out/adult acne and she was able to cover them up so well! Plus she is very sweet and gave great advice on skin care and makeup. I was so impressed at how good she was that we also hired her for our engagement shoot, our wedding day, AND our day-after wedding portraits! That’s how much I loved her and her work (each time a similar look but different hair styles). We asked Christy to do our mothers’ makeup as well on our wedding day and they both loved it! If you are an Asian woman looking for a very talented makeup artist, I highly recommend Christy K!! I’ve attached a few photos so you can see for yourself! -

Christy is truly phenomenal! She is incredibly talented. I have asian monolid eyes and always struggle with a natural, but eye opening look without making it look dramatic. Christy nailed it! My face make up looked super natural and it lasted it all evening!! She is super attentive and extremely easy to work with, especially since I was planning this wedding from NYC. She even came to my childhood home to do my hair and makeup on my wedding day! I couldn't be more impressed with how everything turned out. We told her we want to start the wedding at 9AM sharp - auspicious hour, and she made sure we are ready and beautiful by 830AM. She knows exactly what our Asian skin need, and exactly how to work with our Asian hair. She even gifted us a pouch each with lip-gloss, hair pins, and more, so that we can touch up throughout the day! Kiri Sent on 10/28/2015Christy was awesome! She did my makeup and hair for the wedding, and I received many compliments. My makeup stayed intact until the end, even after me breaking into tears a few times throughout the night!
What impressed me the most was how professional and helpful she is.
- She responded to emails and texts quickly, and was always on time.
- She asked about my gown style, and even our photographer's style, to help give me a better look.
- She gave me hair care and skin care tips after our trial. I was glad to find that my skin conditions improved a lot in a short period of time.
- She lent me hair accessory and veil, and they were beautiful!!
On top of that, Christy is also really fun and comfortable to work with. It certainly helped calm my nerves in the morning. Thanks for making my big day extra special :) !
