The first thing we did to prepare for our wedding was to find and book a photographer. I looked around just a bit but knew we really wanted someone that was familiar and comfortable with queer weddings. I stumbled across Charnell and knew right away she was the one we needed! She had an a amazing portfolio and i actually knew a few of the couples she had worked with in the past.
Our initial meeting was great and she so put us at ease with her sweet and fun personality. our communication between booking and the wedding was always prompt and very helpful.
The day of our wedding she arrived early to scout out the property and was so patient with us and the family chaos. Once we got into couple pictures she had us relaxed and enjoying the process. She was so great with all of our family photos and really got everyone in happy, smiley mood. Our ceremony pictures were beautiful and she captured all of the brilliant northern Minnesota colors even better than we dreamed!
10/10 I would work with and recommend Charnell Timms over and over again. She helped us capture beautiful memories that will last a lifetime. -

Charnell is absolutely fantastic in so many aspects. She is an absolute joy to work with - she has a positive, can-do attitude that is perfect for the wedding day blur. She will make you feel like the most beautiful bride. All of my bridal party and guests loved her. The photos turned out amazing. She perfectly captured the different moments throughout the day - from getting ready, portraits, ceremony, and reception. Finally, the photo book we received at the end was even better than what we imagined. It was so beautiful and creative. We can’t wait to show our friends and family for years to come. I highly recommend Charnell photography! -

Charnell was a wonderful photographer to work with for our engagement and wedding photos! We found her during an online search for LGBTQ+ friendly photographers for our wedding. What we found was a talented, friendly, and welcoming photographer. She always made us feel at ease and kept us laughing during all of our photo shoots. We just received our wedding photos and her talent is on full display. She captured everything we wanted to remember about our big day and more! We are extremely happy with Charnell and can't wait to work with her as a family in the future! -

We loved Charnell from the moment we met her! She made everyone feel at ease and had us all laughing during official photos, and we didn’t even know she was there during the many special moments she captured. We hired Charnell to shoot our micro-wedding, and she was absolutely fantastic. Our families are still talking about how great she made the experience, especially under trying public health circumstances. And of course, we were so pleased with the photos as well. Highly recommend her work. -

What an awesome lady!!
We loved working with Charnell through all our ups and downs when it came to our June wedding. Charnell is so fun and easy to work with. She has the best personality and makes taking photos such a great experience. She's so great that we are even having Charnell photograph our redo wedding in October. Can't wait!!! -

An exceptional experience!!
Lisa first me Charnell at a Wedding Fair expo where Lisa was immediately drawn to her work and her fantastic personality. After Lisa chatted with Charnell, she knew Charnell was our choice as a photographer for our 09/07/19 wedding. Prior to the wedding, we hired Charnell do take some Fall pics of us and our 2 senior dogs. We never had any professional pics of them and we knew their time with us was coming to and end. The pics Charnell took were so beautiful we knew we chose the right photographer. She's witty, funny, and made the experience enjoyable. Her passion for photography clearly show in her artistry. On our wedding day she had so many great ideas and suggestions for us. She was never overwhelming but very professional. Our guests even wanted to hang out with her! She provided us with numerous pics to chose from. We chose or favorites and Charnell put those pics into a very classy, gorgeous hard-bound book that we can enjoy forever. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed working with Charnell Timms and highly recommend her! We consider her our friend!

We hired Charnell for our wedding and also decided to have her do our engagement photos. First of all, she is amazing. Hands down the best professional photographer I have ever seen in action. She has a great eye for setting...light...pose...and has an amazing way of making you laugh and forget you are posting for pictures.
She kept our engagement shoot fun and casual. I am not sure who had more fun...us or her! Her laugh, energy, and excitement are infectious. And beyond that, her skills and editing is amazing. She got us our photos very quickly and the whole process was easy. Ideally, one doesn't need to do engagement and wedding photos more than once...so her experience is welcomed! Without a doubt, she's the one to pick! -

Our first draw into working with Charnell stemmed from seeing samples of her work and in particular the stunning same-sex wedding photos in her portfolio. Planning an LGBT wedding in today's social-political climate can at times be a little stressful. After our first meeting with Charnell, both my Wife and I we're so relaxed and instantly found a connection with her. Conversation was easy and her professionalism put all the nerves at ease.
Both my wife and I were rugby players in college and when we shared this with Charnell she seemed genuinely interested in how the sport brought us together. So much so, that when Charnell was on vacation shortly after our meeting she began e-mailing us photos of the Rugby Matches she was attending in South Africa. A truly personal touch that meant so much to us that our photographer "gets us" and cares about us.
I am naturally hesitant about photo shoots and generally get frustrated/bored/uninterested after 10-15 shots. When I shared this with Charnell at our first meeting she said "that's because you haven't done a shoot with me yet". It wouldn't be until our wedding day that I fully understood and appreciated this sentiment. Our wedding guests and bridal parties loved interacting with Charnell and her candid go lucky attitude kept everything up beat and moving throughout the day. In addition, the volume of high quality photos she was able to capture is unbelievable. To this day I do not know how she was in so many places at once, but every angle and every shot was PERFECT and AMAZING.
After the wedding Charnell was highly responsive and had a thumb drive mailed to our home address with all the memories from the day. She followed through on everything she said she would do and more. Quality photography is worth the investment and is one of the best ways to capture your special day. We were working on a strict budget and ended up investing a little more into our photography to be able to work with Charnell and it was the best decision we could have made. Her build your own package was perfect for us because we could postpone getting immediate prints and added an extra hour of her photo services to capture more of our day.
I cant say enough good things about working with Charnell and in summary I will say, her flair, style and constant smile/laughter makes the day of photos the most natural and easy process possible. At the end of the day, the best piece of advice I can offer is -- find a way to invest in her services and you won't be disappointed. Cheers! -

Wow. We seriously don't even know where to begin. Charnell was extraordinary, and our guests absolutely loved her, too! She was brilliant at making everyone laugh and smile, and our pictures turned out better than we could have hoped; her shots completely captured nuances and moments that truly demonstrated the amazing feeling of our special day. By the time our day was over, we felt as though we had found a new friend in Charnell, and we will forever cherish the memory of her effervescent personality, dazzling wit, outstanding laugh, and radiant smile :D -

We knew from the moment that we met Charnell that she was going to be the one for us, we were instantly dazzled by her charm, whit, and presence. The photos on Charnell's website and on her blog proved to us that she had the aesthetic that we were looking for. As for prices the were very comparable and very fair considering her immense talent. If you are looking for an amazing photographer that will leave even your guests buzzing about how great they are, then Charnell is the one for you too.

That is the best way to describe the work Charnell does. Her energy is amazing, her eye for that "perfect" moment is excellent, and the value can't be beat! Charnell was both our engagement and wedding photographer and she exceeded our expectations both times. Her turn around time in getting us our prints and photo album back was unbelievably quick! We highly suggest choosing Charnell to capture your day, as you won't be disappointed! We will definitely be seeking Charnell's photography skills for any future family photos! -
