best local bakery!
I’ve been told that not as many brides choose Chandler’s for their wedding cake vendor because they don’t have an online order system, but if you’re local to Charlottesville, I highly recommend them for their wedding cakes! We went in person to chat with an employee, who was incredibly helpful, efficient, and fairly priced. We showed an inspiration photo and received plenty of tasting options, and we couldn’t be happier with the result! -

Wow! Our wedding cake was beautiful and so delicious. Our guests said it was the best wedding cake they had ever had! We tasted a variety of cakes from Chandler's but settled on a yellow cake with vanilla buttercream icing and a fudge filling. Also, we priced a number of different cake vendors and Chandler's was by far the cheapest option in Charlottesville, VA. The price is not sacrificed for the taste because it was absolutely scrumptious! -

Bridget Sent on 04/14/2010Chandler's was FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!! The cake looked EXACTLY how I wanted and it tasted so very good! It was moist and sweet. They placed the fresh flowers on the cake very beautifully, and all we had to do was show them a picture of what we wanted, and they made it happen. I couldn't be more happy with my experience with Chandlers! Book them for your wedding cake! You won't be disappointed!! -

Chandler's Bakery is proof that wedding cakes do not have to be expensive to taste great and feed a large group of people. I was STRUGGLING looking for a bakery that would deliver to our venue in Orange, VA and didn't cost an arm and a leg for both the cake and delivery. When I found Chandler's, it felt like I had hit the secret lottery or something. I was so happy to hear that I didn't need to book 5+ months in advance or spend double my budget. They were super flexible and accommodating.
They don't email, which is a little unusual for anything wedding related and we didn't have an actual contract all parties signed like our other wedding vendors (you just have an order form basically). Everything was over the phone or in person. Sam was AMAZING and so sweet. We don't live in Charlottesville and they let my mom pick up cake from the store to transport to us for a tasting. The day of the wedding, they delivered the cake in a very timely and professional manner. It looked even better than we thought it was going to and it tasted GREAT. I'm so glad we found Chandler's and I highly recommend them! -

Elisa Sent on 09/27/2009If taste is high on your priority list, chandlers is the place for you! Jamie is really helpful and very up front about what they can do, and what she's comfortable trying. They dont do fondant, so fancy fondant flowers cost extra (they have to order them), they can do regular icing roses. THey offer free samples for tastings, so take full advantage! the cake was beautiful and elegant looking. I picked a pretty simple design and then put fresh flowers on after delivery. We had a layer of chocolate with raspberry preserve, and one of vanilla with "bungalow" which is whipped cream, fresh strawberries and fresh bananas. jury is still out on who liked what best, but they were both amazing.
