C’est La Vie Cakes was a SLAMDUNK for our wedding cake and dessert table. Courtney is professional, kind, and makes LITERALLY the best of every dessert you’ve ever tasted. You WILL NOT find a better cake anywhere else! Her little shop is absolutely adorable and our tasting experience was a dream. On Bell Mare's Preferred List
C'est La Vie Cakes was recommended to us by Bell Mare. My husband loves baking for others and loves variety we came in uncertain if one white wedding cake was for us. C'est La Vie came up with a design to incorporate our wedding colors into our cake and gave us several cupcake tastings to try. We came up with one wedding cake and several small cupcakes for our big day. The flavors were a huge hit and by the end of the night all the cupcakes were gone and there were only a few slices of cake left. Her blueberry lemon cupcakes were the most popular!

This husband and wife team make the process so easy. Very responsive when I contacted them asking about my needs for my wedding. The in person tasting and consultation was fun and relaxing. My cake was delivered to our venue when we needed it too, they have worked with the coordinator there before so that helped to put my mind at ease. Cake was gorgeous, just like how we wanted it and tasted great.

In my exhaustive search to find the best wedding cupcakes across Chicagoland up the I94 corridor to Kalamazoo, Michigan- I was about ready to give up and stumbled across C'est La Vie Cakes. After my first bite during the tasting - I knew that my search had come to an end! Courtney does an AMAZING job. We ordered 4 different flavors of cupcakes and a small round cake for cutting purposes and everything was delicious. Courtney goes above and beyond to make sure this process is delicious and easy. I cannot say enough good things about C'est La Vie Cakes. Courtney was amazing to work with from start to finish. We scheduled our tasting and brought along my maid of honor to her adorable shop. She was the friendliest person and took a ton of notes on what we liked, what we didn't like. She helped us figure out how much to buy as well. The tasting was so much fun, one of the highlights of wedding planning. We got to take home all the things we tasted and ate off it until we were sick.
We didn't have a wedding planner, but she made organizing the drop off super easy. I didn't even see the desserts arrive because I was running all around getting ready. But when I saw them set up, I was stunned. They were GORGEOUS and smelled amazing. My sugar levels crashed about an hour before the ceremony and I was feeling shaky, so my mom brought me a cupcake off the table. It was delicious and it put me back right side up so I could be sugared up and ready for the ceremony.
We completely forgot to confirm we needed trays. Rather than just say 'Oh well' and deliver the desserts hoping we'd figure it out, she brought the cutest trays along with her anyway to make sure the desserts had something to go on.
They were a smash hit. People were obsessed with the cheesecake bites and I had a lemon bite and nearly fainted it was so good. Everyone loved them. I can't wait for the next chance to work with Courtney again just to get my hands on more of her incredible desserts.

The best wedding cake!
Couldn't reccomend C'est La Vie Cakes enough for wedding cakes! Our whole experience with Courtney was great. We got to try many flavors at the tasting and Courtney took notes on which were our favorites. Then we made our final decision a month or two before our weddiing. The cake was not only stunning, but it was sooo delicious! I'm not usually a huge cake person and I ate three pieces that night LOL. Thank you so much Courtney!!

Courtney was amazing! My original cake baker told me they wouldn’t be able to bake our wedding cake due to illness less than a month before our wedding. I was frantic trying to find a new cake baker. Courtney put me at ease when I called her. She was so sweet and easy to work with. Our wedding was in Kalamazoo, Michigan and she offered to drive from South Bend to deliver it to us. Our cake was gorgeous and tasted great! My husband and I were so busy at our wedding we didn’t have a chance to have a piece, so we decided to break into the top tier when we got back from our honeymoon. We plan on getting a fresh small cake to celebrate our first anniversary.

Amazing cake, so many people asked where it was from!
I got married at Hidden Vineyard, as I didn't live in the area I looked at many different vendors and C'est La Vie Cakes was the best rated cakes by far!!! Courtney also provides a free tasting, so when we came out in the area we reached out to her and she booked us an appointment. Her cakes/cupcakes were AMAZING! She did a great job at communicating with us and we decided to have it delivered to our venue as its one less stress. I would recommend her to anyone getting married in the area!! Beautiful AND Delicious!
We first tasted C'est La Vie cakes at a wedding vendor expo, and I remember thinking at the time this would be the cake to beat because it was SO good. Well, we never found one that could so we gladly picked them for our wedding!
One of the things i loved was their unique flavor choices. My favorite is the champagne raspberry with buttercream frosting, but pink velvet strawberry was a close second. Both the husband and wife we worked with were very friendly and personable. They even decorated our cake with eucalyptus upon delivery which was a great surprise, as we didn't request this in the purchase.
I can't wait to go back for cupcake versions of our wedding cake to celebrate our anniversary!

Courtney at C'est La Vie was amazing! Cake tasting was one of our favorite parts of wedding planning. We got to try so many fun and different flavors. We loved C'Est La Vie
It was wonderful working with Courtney and C'est La Vie Cakes. We had an original date planned and signed a contract with her for that date but then had to push it back almost a year - we then contacted her for the new date and she honored the original down payment from almost a year prior! The cake was gorgeous and we were so happy with our flavor choices, as were our guests. C'est La Vie offers a good range of flavors and options to choose from, I didn't realize I liked lemon cake/curd until I tried hers!

Courtney was fantastic! We didn't live in the area but she was so accommodating and responsive to my emails. She answered any questions I had for her. Cake testing was amazing and it was hard to decide what the flavors we wanted because everything tasted great. We ended up with 3 tiers that were all different flavors because we couldn't decide. Our naked cake turned out beautifully and exactly what I imagined. Everyone told us how beautiful the cake looked and the best part was it tasted delicious! We are going to have her make our 1 year anniversary cake next May!!!!! We are looking forward to eating that cake too!

C'est la vie was absolutely amazing! I cannot recommend this vendor enough. To be honest she was the only vendor that went perfectly planned and showed up with exactly what I had ordered / visioned on my wedding day. Her cakes/cupcakes are thee most delicious treats I have ever had, and everyone at our wedding was raving about them! I probably got asked a hundred times "Who made these amazing cupcakes?!" Not only are her treats amazing, but she is just the sweetest. When choosing your vendor, there's no need to look or research any further, she's your girl! You won't be disappointed I promise :)

Courtney was extremely organized and professional which really helps you trust her to do an amazing job and takes the stress off of you during the wedding planning process. Not only can you trust her but the quality of her service is by far the best in our area. Her cakes are absolutely amazing. She gives you several samples to try and every single one was the best cake I had ever tasted (which makes it hard to pick favorites!). Not only are her cakes tasty but they are complete works of art done to exactly what you want. She is worth every penny! Don't go anywhere else!

I searched online for cake bakers near me and C'est La Vie Cakes popped up. I had never heard of them so I wasn't sure what to do. I scheduled a tasting and I was sold right there. I had booked them a year in advance and changed my mind on the cake design 3 months before my wedding and Courtney was very easy to talk to about any concerns or questions I had. The cake was GORGEOUS and tasted as good as it looked. I would absolutely recommend C'est La Vie Cakes to anyone and everyone!

I was impressed with C'est La Vie from the very beginning. Courtney had myself, my husband, and my mom over to her house for a tasting and she was so welcoming and professional. Not to mention, the cake was delicious. I had such a hard time deciding! I changed my mind so many times on what I wanted the cake to look like and Courtney was great. Courtney is fun and extremely professional. Her cakes are delicious and beautiful. I was blown away by how personal she was able to make our cake for us. The cupcakes that she made as well were everything I had hoped for and the decorations were stunning. My husband and I are not big cake people, but we thought it was the best cake ever! Even when I asked to make some changes it was never an issue, she was courteous and accomodating. Courtney provides lots of flavor options and the tasting was personal and professional as well. I will definitely be purchasing more cakes in the future from her... Courtney does other events like birthdays, showers, and graduations as well. I can say without a doubt the cake was perfect!

We were completely blown away by the excellent work of C'est La Vie Cakes. We had some unique needs for the wedding, which were not only met but far exceeded any expectation we may have had. I am extremely sensitive to gluten and I was overjoyed to discover at our cake tasting not just regular cupcakes to try, but several gluten-free options. Typically gluten-free limits your options significantly, C'est La Vie makes the decision making difficult! Every sample we tried was phenomenal. We didn't have a clear vision for what we wanted cakes to look like, only a few pictures we thought were nice. C'est La Vie created gorgeous cakes that were perfect for the wedding theme and were absolutely delicious at an incredibly price.

We had some difficulty in finding our baker at first. When we came across C'est La Vie cakes though a local Google Search we were so impressed with all of the cakes that were posted through the website! We contacted Sara about 2 months before our wedding with abundant surprise that our date was still available! She was so nice and very excited to help us design a cake that was perfect for us! It had fresh flowers and was just stunning! They offer a lot of flavors as well as fillings and each tier can even be different flavors so you don't have to commit to just one if you don't want too!

She was very professional, easy to meet with, and had such a charming personality. She made us a tiered cake with multiple different flavors, all of which were so delicious! We had several special requests and made numerous changes along the way, and she was so responsive. Oh my goodness I can not say enough amazing things about Courtney and her husband! They were an absolute joy to work with! I always knew I wanted the cake to be a main focal point at our reception and they delivered a cake that was everything we wanted and more! They worked with our florist to get the exact flowers we were using in our centerpieces so the cake would match. Our groom's cake was a fish, which can be very difficult to make, but they did great! Every one of our guests praised how much they loved the cakes visually and taste wise. Courtney and her husband are a fantastic team and we cannot wait for another celebration so we can work with them again. Working with them was the best decision we made. We are so extremely grateful we asked them to make our wedding cakes.

C'est La Vie Cakes / Courtney were absolutely awesome to work with! I had never ordered a professional cake and didn't know what to expect. The C'est La Vie Cakes website was amazing, lots of pictures showcasing her work and it included flavor and price details etc., but it was also very easy to understand/navigate which allowed us to have a good understanding of all the options and potential costs going in - this was invaluable as we were on a budget.
Courtney was very professional, personable and friendly, she made us feel so comfortable at our one-on-one cake tasting.
We showed Courtney a picture of the cake we wanted and she went ABOVE and BEYOND to get the accent pieces that were needed. Our cake was simple, yet elegant and was exactly what we wanted! Our guests loved the look of our cake and the taste even more, we got many compliments! We loved our cake so much that we had Courtney make us a smaller version for our one year anniversary and plan to do so every year!

Courtney worked with me on all aspects of what I needed and wanted for my cake. I can be the most indecisive person but I knew what I wanted (and actually used a previous, simple, beautiful design of hers). We had the tasting (which she provided about 6 difference versions)... and gahhh I could definitely go for some of her cake right now! I additionally wanted almond buttercreme frosting and she was willing to do a sampling of that for me so we made sure it was done right. When I went to pick up the samples, we just ended up talking for about 2 hours as we got to know eachother.
The cake ended up beautiful, tasted wonderful, everyone LOVED it and I was so happy to have had a few extra slices to take home with me and give to my family as well!
I would definitely work with Courtney again for any future LARGE cake item I may need, since there is a minimum price of $150, I believe :)

Courtney was awesome. We had a tasting at her house in the early evening since we lived out of town and had to fit our catering tasting in that same day. I would recommend Courtney a hundred time over, and if I ever had the occasion I would use her again in a heartbeat, though that may be hard, as we moved to Alaska shortly after getting married, but I would dare to say it would be worth the overnighting!

C'est La Vie Cakes did a great job with our wedding cake and Groom's cake. We chose them because they were recommended for their fondant work. While the wedding cake was done in buttercream the Groom's cake was done in fondant. Both turned out great. We got lots of compliments on the look and taste of both cakes and they were both just as ordered.
Courtney was helpful and creative in helping us achieve the look we wanted. And, she was very flexible in some late changes that were necessary regarding size/tiers. I didn't see the cake delivered, but I know that it was in place according to the time line requested and they both held up beautifully in the early summer weather. C'est La Vie Cakes was not on my venue's recommended vendor list, but was recommended by a company that was, and the venue had no problem with my contracting their services.

My husband and I tried 5 cake shops in the area, and this vendor had the best tasting cake by far. I'm a bit of a foodie and love dessert, so finding a great tasting cake was very important to me. I was a little nervous to find out that she does a lot of the baking at her house. We went to her house for the tasting, and I was very impressed with the cleanliness and atmosphere. Courtney is very professional, and you can tell she has a natural flair for both food and design. All of the cake and icing combinations that we tasted were delicious. I also liked that she put the combinations together in a cupcake instead of having the cake flavors and fillings separate like other vendors did. Cost wise she was one of the more expensive cake vendors that we looked at, but felt the extra money was totally worth it after we compared the tastes! She was even nice enough to pick up the cake stand for us since our reception was so close to her house. I had a unique brooch cake topper that weighed a few pounds, and Courtney did a great job in working with me and the cake topper designer to make sure it would be supported. Overall, I would highly recommend this vendor!!!

Courtney from C'est La Vie Cakes is awesome. Her cakes taste just as amazing as they look!!! We received so many compliments on the cake from our wedding guests. Everything involving the cake process was very smooth and Courtney was a pleasure to work with! We highly recommend her and will be using her again in the future!!!

From day on Courtney and Brandon have been a joy and a pleasure to work with. There ideas are brilliant. Most of our guest were from out of town and there begging us to bring cake from C'est La Vie. Although we've had our wedding we look forward to working with them for years to come. Thank you guys we love you and thanks for making our day even the more special.
