While most photographers are looking for “photos” he captured moments, the most meaningful moments of that day. I never thought it was possible to capture a feeling in a photo, but he was able to.

We have worked with Sean three times and I truly cannot recommend him highly enough. He took our wedding photos in 2014 and then he did family photos for us in 2018 and 2023. We came from out of state for all three sessions. Sean is incredibly easy to work with. He is responsive and enthusiastic, warm and personable, and is able to put everyone at ease. Best Choice for Wedding Photography!
Planning a wedding in Colorado from out-of-state, we contacted Cayton Photography as our first choice for photo services. We couldn't have chosen any better! From the start, Sean was friendly and accommodating. He captured all of our memorable wedding moments. On the morning of our wedding when rain threatened our original ceremony site, Sean called and suggested an alternate location. Turns out we loved that location more than our original choice. There isn't a better choice!
Having Sean as a photographer was the best decision I made for my whole wedding. He is so friendly, calm, and supportive. My husband and I are super awkward and never take photos. Sean has so many great ideas and makes you feel super comfortable the whole day. Everyone at the wedding commented on how great he was. If you are planning things yourself and need help he gives great advice on what to think about before the wedding. His amazing experience shines through at every angle. In the world of wedding planning where no one ever responds to you, Sean always had a timely response to any questions and had our pictures ready so much quicker than many of my friends who recently had weddings as well with different photographers. I'm the slow one trying to figure out which to put in the album and what larger prints I want to order because they are all so beautiful!!

A perfect wedding photographer!
I rarely take the time to write reviews, but I could not pass up the opportunity to share my thoughts on Cayton Photography. I am the mother of the bride and was the one who chose Cayton Photography. I have to say that out of all the myriad of vendors that had to be hired for the wedding, this choice was the absolute best one I made!! Sean was always very responsive to my many questions and could not have been more professional and amazing. He was on-time, and blended into the day so well. He not only took all the portraits we had requested, but so many others that were so unique and really captured the beauty of the day---not only the people but the gorgeous Colorado mountains as a backdrop. He was artistic and the photos were unbelievable! And yet, he remained in the background and did not intrude on the day by requiring the bride and groom to spend way too much of their time being photographed at the expense of actually enjoying their special day! Sean captured all the moments in just the right way! He really is a phenomenal wedding photographer, and I would give him 10 stars if I could!!

Sean has a great positive energy, sense of humor, and personality that makes taking photos a fun experience. He is a true professional and has years of experience, and this was apparent in how he directed us into poses like it was second-nature for him. Our photos turned out perfect and we are having trouble narrowing down our favorites because they are all so good.
Sean was super responsive and easy to get ahold of from our initial contact to when he reached out to let us know the weather forecast looked bad and we may want to reschedule our wedding photos. He was super helpful in choosing a location and preparing us, and overall just great to work with. 5-Year Anniversary Photos
My husband and I were blessed to have our 5-year anniversary photos taken in Colorado Springs. Sean was incredible to work with! He is so funny, calming, and welcoming. Neither one of us are fans of getting our photo taken, but we immediately felt comfortable with Sean. He spent time getting to know us and our story and warmed us up to the camera and his methods. Sean is big on telling a story and letting things flow naturally, which we are a BIG fan of. His personality and story-telling through the lens is a true gift and was amazing to be a part of. I HIGHLY recommend Cayton Photography to anyone and everyone! You will not regret it. Sean is also highly communicative and flexible, which makes the process even smoother. So happy we chose Cayton Photography
Sean Cayton was going to photograph our wedding in August 2020 but it was postponed to last weekend, Sept 2021. He has been a pleasure to work with from the engagement photos, rescheduling the wedding date, on the actual wedding day, and now receiving our photos. Talented photographer, went above and beyond!
I started talking to Sean about doing photography for our wedding just before COVID-19 hit the globe, while I was living over in England. He was extremely responsive and always personable. Due to the pandemic we had to postpone our wedding for 1 year, but the process was pretty seamless. I failed to communicate that I wanted extra hours covered at the wedding but Sean agreed to stay late even though he had driven an hour down from Colorado Springs already and it was late. Beyond being an extremely talented photographer, he was easy going and so kind to everyone at the wedding. Sean is flexible and intuitive and gets everyone to have a good time. You are in the best hands if you choose him as your photographer.

Getting married during a pandemic can be quite stressful. Sean was amazing from start to finish and eased my mind in so many ways. Of all my vendors, he was the most responsive and timely leading up to the wedding. He showed up early, was interactive, professional and kind throughout the whole day. My wedding guests kept commenting on how much they liked Sean. After the wedding, we had to narrow our selection down to 400 images and I thought that was going to be easy. The photos were so amazing it was very hard to narrow it down to 400 images. He captured the entire day perfectly. We have an amazing selection of candid images and posed images. I also accidentally put in the wrong shipping address for our images to be sent and Sean hand delivered our package. I am looking for a way we can use Sean in the future.

Photography at it's best
Planning a last-minute elopement due to the pandemic in a destination you have never been to, has many variables that can make you nervous. However, the minute we connected with Sean he made the whole process seem so easy. He was available for any pre-conversations we wanted to have and gave us an immediate sense of trust and reassurance he would be the right photographer to capture our wedding. The moment he arrived at the ceremony site he was personable and gave incredible direction, something my fiancé and I needed. During the ceremony I hardly even knew he was there, but the pictures of our ceremony captured each special look and gesture we made. After the ceremony Sean knew exactly what to do and where to go, in less than a couple hours we had more incredible photos than I knew what to do with. I am so grateful to Sean for truly capturing the genuine moments we had and his eye for the perfect shot left me in awe. His talent is truly remarkable and made our special day more memorable and now we have the proofs to prove what an incredible day it really was. Sean photographed our wedding in 2004 and did an amazing job; we've had him photographing every generation of our family ever since.
Sean has it all - the artist's eye, technical skills, and the equipment to take unique and artful pictures. There are few moments in life that you want to remember over and over again, this is one of those moments! Sean has an eye for the perfect shot, his talent is exceptional.

My daughter wanted to get married at The Broadmoor, and when an opportunity opened up, she took it. With her wedding planned in ten days- we contacted Sean based on photos we had seen of his work. He was flexible, kind, professional, and had consistent communication with both myself and my daughter. The best photographer in Colorado!
Sean has captured our engagement photos, wedding photos and family sessions three years in a row! We couldn’t be happier with the lasting memories he continues to give us. We first met and hired Sean seven years ago to photograph our wedding. We had a wonderful experience with him and love our photos from our wedding weekend! Sean was the perfect photographer for our elopement. We are both very camera shy and had been dreading the thought of a camera being on us for two hours, but he made us feel so comfortable. He was available at all times leading up to the day of the event, and he was willing to help in any way possible. Sean did a family photo session for us over the holidays, and it was terrific. He corralled three generations, including four small children, and managed to get an outstanding mix of candids and formal group shots. Even the most hesitant, camera-shy in the group enjoyed themselves. Sean moved easily and naturally in the group. I could not have asked for a better photographer for my engagement and wedding. Sean was one of the easiest photographers I have ever been around. One of the best things about our photos is that Sean let us be US. He didn't spend the whole day trying to force us into awkward poses we weren't comfortable with, but rather followed us around and captured some of the sweetest and most authentic moments between us. I am so impressed with how quickly he got the pictures back to us as well, it was as quick as I have ever gotten photos back and they were amazing on top of that and there were so many great ones to choose from. We could not have asked for a better photographer. We used Sean for both our ceremony and engagement photos. He was simply amazing. He was responsive with our requests and was quick to offer suggestions. He was truly a professional in every sense of the word. We did not have a “first look” ceremony, so we might have run into a time issue if it hadn’t have been for Sean. He was so efficient that we were able to get many of our photos done before the ceremony.

Sean took our wedding pictures in Keystone, Colorado. He did such a great job! We couldn't be happier with our wedding photos. He had our photos to us in a timely manner, captured the moments without being intrusive, was very easy to work with, and our pictures were amazing.

It's been almost a year since our wedding, and thinking back on the occasion made me want to write this review. In summary, Sean is fantastic! Fabulous photography and so easy/flexible to work with.
Planning a wedding with many moving parts, I decided to limit my priorities (because with mothers and mothers in law you don't always get your way!). My priorities were my dress, dancing/music, and the photography. And I am so glad we went with Sean! From the first meeting, he was very easy to work with and receptive to my thoughts and ideas. I made a list of shots I wanted, and gave him creative control over the rest. And boy did he deliver. From the formal, posed shots to the candid (my personal favorite), Sean's photography really captured the spirit of our wedding.
We are about to celebrate our one year anniversary (May 21) and still look back on our pictures often - and they make us smile and remember all the happiness of that day!

Having worked with Sean on a number of professional projects over the years, he was the only person I could imagine photographing my wedding. Not only is he a gifted photographer, he is a kind and generous person. He took the time to get to know my fiance and structure an engagement shoot that reflects who we are as people, climbing through theatre scaffolding and fording icy rivers to get the perfect shots to tell our story. At the wedding, he scouted beautiful locations, managed our time expertly, charmed our guests thoroughly, and created a portfolio of images that made us shed tears of joy. So many of our guests told us afterward how impressed they were with his professionalism and the genuine delight he took in documenting the celebration, and of course we're still hearing about how much people like the photos. Our wedding did not have a large budget, and most of it was DIY, but our contract with Cayton Photography was worth every penny for the ease of mind that comes with having a consummate professional to document the day down to the last detail. We owe such a debt of gratitude to Sean, and can't recommend him highly enough.

Make him a joy to work with. Our wedding album is stunning! He captured our spirit, as well as all the special moments of our day. Only photographer that I will ever recommend! Cayton captured moments we completely missed in real time, for example, the ring bearers raiding a box of graham crackers just before the ceremony since no one remembered to feed them lunch. Wouldn't trade that pic for the world! Sean brought energy and enthusiasm that made even the standard picture-taking so much fun that pure joy resonates from every image. Cayton was clear and concise in all our dealings and made absolutely certain we understood what we were buying. There was no pressure, ever, to go with the more expensive option. Cayton was flexible and accommodating before, during and after the wedding. So glad Cayton was our photographer.

I know all five-stars looks like an inflated review, but Sean captured our wedding in Napa Valley absolutely perfectly. The ceremony was in a redwood grove, and the reception at a hilltop house above a vineyard. His pictures still freeze people in their tracks when they see them around our house. Especially this one picture... it looks like we're in a cathedral of redwood trees with the sunlight streaming down onto us. He saw the opportunity and captured it. That's just one of many.
We're so happy Sean shot our wedding. He captured great memories we get to have for the rest of our lives.

Sean was AMAZING! My husband and father-in-law said for the first time they actually liked taking pictures, which was a testament to Sean's ability to make everyone feel comfortable. I would recommend him to anyone.

Sean Cayton, from Cayton Photography, was an absolute pleasure to work with. Not only is he a great photographer, but he provides excellent service. All the guests liked him and everyone can attest to how hard he worked to document every moment of the day. The photos were beautiful and demonstrated excellent skill with lighting and composition. Sean Cayton with Cayton Photography is absolutely remarkable! He took all of my wedding and pre-wedding pictures including our engagement sitting and my bridal portraits. The pictures are breathtaking and I am blown away every time I look at them. He has an excellent way of making you feel like you have known each other forever. Therefore being yourself for your pictures is a breeze! I would recommend Cayton Photography to anyone who needs any type of photographs!

Sean Cayton did an EXCELLENT job photographing our recent wedding. He was very thorough and captured every single moment of our special day. He even added still shots of flowers, centerpieces, etc. I guess you can say he went above and beyond our expectations!! Very professional, courteous, affordable, and on time..... Sean did a fantastic job of keeping our family and wedding party upbeat and eager to take photos. He had the perfect balance of giving us suggestions and cues to get a great shot, while largely staying out of the way and letting us simply enjoy the day. It is obvious he views his job as capturing the joy and excitement of a wedding as he finds it, rather than crafting a wedding to make for good photos. He was incredibly respectful of the nuances and restrictions associated with photographing a Catholic wedding. His follow-through was incredible. We even got some initial highlights by the next morning! Our photos are fantastic. We can’t wait to share them with friends and family and enjoy them for years to come.

Sean made our wedding photography not only fun but easy. Cayton Photography has a lot of experience and it shows. Mr. Cayton was professional, fun to work with, and had all proofs within a week! ONE WEEK! Exceptionally fast. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Best in the Springs!
Sean is an amazing photographer! I love the candid photos of our wedding almost more than our wedding portraits. He is very good at making everyone comfortable enough that they forget the camera is there, which is a great thing. He will also go above and beyond to get a shot, like climbing into a freezing creek to get the right angle for the perfect picture. I would definitely hire him again for any special occasion I had.

Sean is an exceptional photographer. The moment we opened up our online album for the first time we were instantly captivated. Even with hundreds of photos we spent the entire night looking and cherishing each one. We had the difficult task of choosing only 20 for our main album even though we will have digital access as well. He captures posed and candid photos and understands lighting wonderfully. He is friendly and worked well with everyone in our party. During the ceremony he captured every essential moment and I never noticed his presence intrude upon any of the moments.(Though to be fair my wife had all of my presence of mind). Regardless, these memories will be forever remembered. Those reading may believe his services may be too expensive, but like all fine things of worth, especially a wedding, you get what you pay for. We have so many beautiful memories that will remain with us forever. Thank you Sean.

Sean was so great to work with! As two rookies, my husband and I felt relaxed, in the moment, and were able to soak up our wedding day with family and friends. A true professional, we didn't even know he took so many great candid photos until seeing final product. The mix of posed and candids are great to add to our photo library and be able to look back on for years to come. I am so happy we went with Cayton Photography!
