    Flawless Planning and an Unforgettable Wedding Experience!

    My wedding in 2024 in the Riviera Maya was an absolute dream, and I owe so much of it to Ana, my incredible wedding planner! From the very beginning, she was clear and transparent about her communication and pricing, which made everything so much easier to plan.

    She went above and beyond to offer support and creative solutions, even for things that weren’t part of our original agreement. The vendors she recommended were top-notch, and I couldn’t have been happier with their services.

    One of the things I appreciated the most was her transparency in managing our budget and quotes, everything was clear, and there were no surprises. The organization and coordination on the wedding day were flawless, and I truly felt I could relax and enjoy every moment knowing she had everything under control.

    Ana, best wedding planner in Riviera Maya

    I had my wedding in 2024 in the stunning Riviera Maya, and having Ana as my wedding planner was the best decision I made!

    From the very beginning, she was clear about her communication and pricing, making everything easy to understand. She went above and beyond, offering solutions and support even beyond what was included in our contract.

    The vendors she recommended were absolutely top-notch, and thanks to her transparency with budgets and quotes, I felt confident about every decision. Her organization and coordination skills were impeccable, and she made sure every detail of our special day went off without a hitch. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.     A unique and magical wedding

    Working with Ana from Casa Riviera was an incredible experience! She guided us step by step through the entire planning process, making it so easy for us. We shared a few of our ideas, and she took care of bringing them to life, finding the right vendors, and ensuring everything ran smoothly and on time.

    My dream elopement!

    Ana was incredible. I had a basic idea for my elopement and she brought it to life with care, ease, kindness and fun. She made planning (mind you in under 2 months) so simple and exciting. She made the whole thing one of the least stressful and most fun, which for a wedding is saying so much. On the day of the event, she was on top of last minute changes, making sure it only made the day better. She worked so well with my photographers and videographers. It truly felt like our whole day was planned by a group of friends we had know for a long time rather than an event team. I again say I didn’t have any stresses that day, and that’s all thanks to her. I could not recommend her enough!!! I’m indebted to her for my perfect day. ❤️

    Casa Riviera Wedding Coordination

    I worked with Ana at Casa Riviera Weddings. She was professional, polite and very timely in all of her responses while we were in the planning and booking phase. She worked with me on every detail and allowed me to take my time with final decisions yet was awesome at keeping us aligned with our timeline. Once in Mexico, she met me at my accommodations and we went over all the details together. We walked down to the beach to allow me to see exactly where the ceremony would happen. She helped me manage the wedding of my dreams and there's no way I could have done this without her. The vendors she works with are affordable and professional and I was happy with the way everyone tied their tasks together to make our special day as seamless as possible.

    Our Experience with Casa Riviera Weddings (Ana) for Wedding Coordination


    I haven’t written a negative review since 2021, and I truly dislike doing so unless it’s an especially bad experience that I feel others should know about. After what happened with Ana, we felt it was important to share our experience as objectively as possible to inform other couples.

    We hired Ana for day-of coordination for our original venue, where we were already having issues. She initially quoted us $150 per wedding hour plus “operational expenses,” which was far above the $500 market rate we had been quoted by two highly experienced coordinators. Unfortunately, those coordinators were unavailable by the time we hired Ana. When I mentioned her price was too high for our budget, she said she “wanted to help us given our situation” and agreed to our $500 budget. She required us to sign a contract and wire 100% of the cost upfront. Trusting her, and since it wasn’t our biggest expense, we wired the money without negotiating partial payment upon completion, which was a mistake on our part.

    At the time, we were unhappy with our original venue and had not paid them in full. Ana recommended an alternative venue and negotiated a price that wouldn’t result in financial loss for us. Initially, this seemed helpful. However, this new venue didn’t offer contracts—just a $10,000 quote and a request for wire or cash payment. We insisted on paying under a proper contract and via credit card for protection. I even shared sample wedding contracts with Ana and the venue as references. The venue responded with a poorly written contract containing spelling errors and inaccurate exchange rates.

    We asked Ana four times to connect us directly with the venue, as the mediation wasn’t working, but she refused. Instead, she claimed the “back and forth” over the contract, credit card payment, and unclear clauses had gotten “out of control” and was “beyond her,” emphasizing she was only trying to help us. At this point, I became wary. I googled the venue, called them directly, and resolved the issues within five minutes.

    Ana frequently said she was liaising with vendors “as a favor,” even though it wasn’t in our contract. She wanted to put vendor contracts under her name, have us pay everything in cash, and leave us fully liable for the outcomes, citing that “she was doing this as a favor.” I told her that we needed either to sign the contracts ourselves with payment terms we felt comfortable with or to revise our agreement with her to make her fully liable for her vendors’ outcomes. She refused to take liability, so we agreed to sign the contracts ourselves. Despite this, she insisted on being the sole communicator with vendors.

    One notable issue involved a tarp rental. Ana initially claimed this was the only extra cost to match the budget of our original venue. However, when we asked for the price, she quoted $4,000—an amount so high it became a dealbreaker. She then asked what we’d be willing to pay, and when we said $1,000, she magically found an option for that amount. Reading the contract, we realized this only included the tarp rental, not setup. When we tried to pay via credit card, Ana wouldn’t provide the correct bank account information for the provider, so I reached out to them directly.

    While waiting, we discovered we could buy a similar tarp on Amazon for $100. We decided to go that route. Ana seemed surprisingly annoyed by this and refused to help with the surface measurements we needed to finalize the purchase. Instead, she pressured us to pay her tarp provider, asking five times in three days when we would make the payment. It was her job to handle these communications, and her behavior raised red flags about whether she was benefiting under the table.

    A similar situation occurred with the furniture and decor provider. Ana quoted us $500 for setup, claiming at one point it was for “her team” and later that it was for the decor company. After cutting ties with Ana and contacting the vendor directly, they reduced the setup fee by half, which strongly suggested Ana was profiting from the markup.

    As we approached the wedding, we discovered additional items missing from Ana’s negotiations with the venue. These included cake plates, cake stands, cutters, wine, champagne glasses, cocktail glasses, and lighting—costs we had to cover separately. By then, I was communicating directly with the venue due to serious doubts about Ana’s competence and intentions.

    Because the contract with Ana stipulated she would mediate vendor communication, I requested that we update the clause to reflect the reality and manage expectations. I didn’t request any changes to the contract price. Ana became upset, stating she was too busy and offering to refund us instead. Frustrated with her poor service and constant claims of “doing this as a favor,” we agreed to the refund.

    Ana asked for our bank information and promised to reimburse us that week, “deducting the services she had already provided.” Most of these services were things she claimed she did “as a favor” and weren’t part of her contract. We were willing to let her keep 20% of the total payment for her time—even 50% we wouldn’t have fought. However, weeks passed without reimbursement. When I followed up, she said she needed to consult her accountant and issue a revised invoice. This delay was unreasonable, as the transfer could have been done in minutes.

    With two weeks left before the wedding, I involved a lawyer, who sent a formal letter stating Ana had not fulfilled any services outlined in her contract. He requested a refund, minus 20% as a courtesy for her time, within five days or we would pursue legal action. Ana’s response was surprising—she said she would see us in court and continued claiming she was “just trying to help.” After the deadline passed, she offered $100 out of the $500 we paid, contingent on us signing a legal waiver that we wouldn’t pursue the matter further. We agreed to close this if she refunded 50%, but she refused, and we never received anything.

    Ana required us to pay 100% upfront for services that were never rendered or refunded. This is a scam. Her behavior strongly suggests she profits from her vendor recommendations, despite her claims of “wanting to help.” Once she realized she couldn’t extract more money, she stopped providing service and refused to honor her contractual obligations.

    I cannot recommend Ana to anyone. She made an already stressful wedding process much worse, left us feeling scammed, and tarnished what should have been a happy experience.

    - Pricing and Contractual Agreement
    I was transparent about my hourly coordination rate, which reflects my service value. I understand pricing varies across professionals, but after discussing your situation, I offered a special rate to help accommodate your needs.
    - Venue Recommendation and Contract Issues
    After your concerns about your original venue, I suggested an alternative to provide options. I explained the venue was new to the wedding industry and not fully prepared with contracts but could still work for your needs. These discussions were beyond the scope of the contract, but I wanted to help.
    - Vendor Management
    To minimize paperwork, I recommended my trusted vendors, whose quotes were issued under my name as I made the initial requests. While I explained they don’t accept credit cards, I offered a Stripe link to facilitate payments. When you requested their contact details, I first sought their consent before sharing to respect privacy.
    - Overpriced Rentals and Services
    The $4,000 quote was for a professional tent, including installation and labor, not a simple tarp. When we switched to a custom-made tarp for $1,000, it was due to my strong vendor relationships accommodating this unusual request. I was open to you using alternative options, like Amazon, but I couldn’t vouch for their suitability.
    - Incomplete Venue Negotiations
    My contract covered coordination, not full wedding planning. Items like cake plates, glasses, and lighting were outside the agreed-upon responsibilities. My primary focus remained on other full-planning weddings, but I tried to guide you where possible.
    - Refund and Resolution Issues
    When you requested a contract clause I couldn’t accommodate, I offered to cancel my services and refund part of the fee, even though my contract explicitly states no refunds. I needed time to process this due to my workload but acted in good faith to address your concerns.
    - General Communication and Professionalism
    I apologize for not setting clearer boundaries about what was and wasn’t included in your contract. While I aimed to assist beyond the agreement, referring to extra tasks as "favors" may have caused confusion. I take this feedback seriously and am committed to improving clarity and communication in the future.

    Unprofessional and unreliable

    My fiance and I paid ana for coordination. She soon quit and kept our payment. She also refused to accept anything besides cash for vendor coordination. I would not trust Ana for coordinating or planning your wedding.
