Carola is 10/10!!

Carola and her team were the most amazing makeup and hair artists for our October wedding in Dc! she completely understood my vision and was able to execute it totally and she made me and my entire wedding party feel so gorgeous and special on the day of! Beautiful soft glam wedding makeup

Carola and Shirley made me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day; I was thrilled with my hair and make-up. They were responsive and flexible throughout the process (I asked for two hair trials to figure out if I wanted an updo or my hair down, and I went back and forth about hair extensions until the day of the wedding). Carola just wanted me to feel and look great, and was patient and encouraging throughout. I particularly appreciate that she really listened to my mom and mother-in-law, crafted individual make-up looks for them both, and they had never looked or felt more stunning. Carola also gave me two entirely different looks on my wedding weekend (sexy/glam for my rehearsal dinner and welcome reception, and soft/romantic glam for my wedding day), and both were absolutely gorgeous.

The most fabulous makeup artist you will find!

I HIGHLY recommend Carola Myers for wedding day hair and makeup. Carola first did makeup for my wedding. It was so spectacular that my sister used her for her wedding as well, followed by the bridal party for my brother's wedding soon after. She is part of the family now! The quality of her makeup application simply can't be beaten - she is a true artist and makes everyone look their absolute best. I can't stress how great of a makeup artist she is. Carola is also very professional, calm, and super friendly and has great energy to have around on a big day. I will continue to use her for makeup beyond my wedding as well!

Carola and Shelley were Phenomenal!

Carola and Shelley did my bridal hair and makeup, as well as hair and makeup for the wedding party. I can't say enough wonderful things about them! Carola did our makeup. She is incredibly talented and experienced, and I absolutely loved my makeup on the wedding day! She took the time to consider what worked best on my skin and complexion and also took the time to explain what she was doing and why. I also loved her own Carola Myers line of makeup, which she recently launched and used at our wedding. On a personal note, Carola is also someone you definitely want around you in the midst of all that's happening on your wedding day. She is an absolute delight—not only does she exude warmth and positive energy, but she is also an incredibly calming presence. She is also an excellent communicator and consummate professional—she made herself available right away for a bridal trial, and really cares about her clients. Shelley was also fantastic for hair. Every single woman LOVED her hair style, and I absolutely loved my bridal hair. She has an amazing talent for hair, and she also works really quickly while doing an excellent job. At the end of the night, my hair had not BUDGED and still looked perfect! I would use Carola Myers and her team again in a heartbeat. I'm so glad we hired her!

Choosing Carola for my wedding day was such an easy decision! She did my sister-in-law’s makeup for her wedding day and I loved how pretty she made everyone feel that I knew I wanted her for my wedding day. When you are getting ready you want to have a relaxing experience, and I felt so relaxed and comfortable with Carola. Carola makes you and your loved ones feel beautiful! Carola takes her time with you to ensure your makeup and hair brings out the best of you. She works with you to understand your skin type, makeup style, and makes sure your makeup will stay in place for hours! I didn’t have to do any touchups throughout my wedding day! And my hair stayed in place all night long! I would recommend Carola for all brides in the DC area, or if you just want your makeup and hair done for an event. Amazingly Talented! You'll be the best version of yourself.

I was so happy to have Carola Myers with me on my wedding day! She is so incredibly talented and has such an amazing attention to detail. Following my hair and make-up trial, I had a little hiccup with my mascara not lasting the whole day. That's totally what trials are for though :) I let her know and she took note, making sure to bring a different long-lasting mascara for my wedding day, and it lasted the entire day/evening :) (And it was a very long day too!). I work out in the woods for a living, so truth be told, makeup is not really a part of my daily routine. When most folks see me, I'm not wearing any makeup. Carola is an incredible artist. Part of what attracted me to her work in the first place was after she did my cousin's wedding - I was in awe - everyone looked like the best version of themselves. I was so incredibly happy on my wedding day - I looked like the best version of myself - natural & wedding-ready all-at-once! My hair and makeup was positively perfect. I had friends who have known me since high school make a point to come up to me to tell me that whoever did my makeup was amazingly talented - that I looked like me but wedding-ready. My hair was also exactly like I dreamed of too! I showed a few of my favorites off my phone from Pintrest at my trial, and the hair stylist created a unique style that was so perfect and better than I could've ever imagined. Carola is so personable and an absolute delight to chat with. It was so wonderful being with her on our wedding morning - everything was so calm and relaxed. I would 100% recommend her for your wedding day!

Carola is a makeup artist, hair stylist, and therapist wrapped into one! From the moment I first called Carola I felt like I was the most important person in the world to her! I was a very nervous bride. I have never gotten my hair and makeup professionally done before and she was so helpful and worked with me through every single detail. Where do I even start? Carola made me feel like the most beautiful bride. She came recommended by a friend who I trust, and I cannot express how lucky I felt to have found her. She is friendly, responsive, professional, and incredibly talented at what she does. Great Experience

Carola and her team are amazing! Carola captured the best natural version of myself, which is exactly what I wanted/asked for. Shirley created the hairstyle I wanted without much direction from me. Carola and her team expertly did my and my friend's and family's hair and make-up, which was a lot (about 10). They were very accommodating, patient, and flexible as I was a bit disorganized the day of the wedding. She and her team are the nicest and very easy to work with. Would definitely recommend Carola and her team!

Carola Myers is an amazing make up artist. She was easy to schedule, professional, polite and kind to work with throughout the process. She listened to the what I wanted for my wedding look. She believes in complimenting the natural beauty of a person. She has the light touch of a master artist. My make up did not feel heavy or overdone. I felt like a beautiful princess all day. My make up looked just as fresh at 11 pm as it did when Carola was applying it at 10 am. Carola's hair assistant gave me a beautiful up do. Loved working with Carola! She is lovely and made me feel that I was in excellent hands throughout the whole process. Carola and her team are the best in the business! When booking my May 2016 wedding, searching for a makeup + hair artist was by far the most stressful part for me. I was about to give up hope. You can have a beautiful dress but if your makeup and hair isn't done right that spoils the whole look. Everyone else's portfolio that I viewed seemed to have makeup that was caked on and wasn't blended well and that was definitely not what I was going for. This all changed when I stumbled across Carola's site. I was so ecstatic and thought maybe it was too good to be true, but it was not! She exceeded my expectations from the moment I called her. She took the time to talk to me and make me feel comfortable. She is so caring and compassionate and really treats you like family. She will spend time learning more about you and your likes in order to find the best thing for YOU. She was never at all pushy. I was already sold before the trial look but that sealed the deal. The whole vision of my wedding became so real and I no longer had any fear of how I would look. That feeling of ease is truly priceless. They were right on time and professional the day of the wedding and took their time with me and my wedding party. You can tell doing what she does comes as natural as breathing. I couldn't believe how quickly she could apply false eyelashes, she could do it with her eyes closed! She took the time to mix different false lashes to give such a natural winged look you couldn't even tell they were fake! This is just one example of how she will go above and beyond to ensure the work she puts out is the absolute best and up to her very high standards. Her blending techniques are off the charts! Our makeup and hair looked just as perfect by the end of the night as when she finished; I was blown away! She is just AMAZING all around! If you are still thinking of who to use for your wedding or any event, you can stop searching now. You will NOT be disappointed!

Carola did all make-up and Shirley did all hair for me (bride), 2 bridesmaids, and mother of the bride. Carola is an expert at preparing brides and bridesmaids for weddings: If Carola says "this is how long it should take, this is how I suggest we set the schedule, and this is what I think we should do," just do yourself a favor and just TRUST HER. She was absolutely right about the timing of everything, even though I foolishly tried to question her ahead of time and wanted to speed things up. Dumb of me. Everything on your wedding day takes longer than you think it will. Prior to the wedding, I was very nervous about how the hair and make-up would turn out and she was blessedly reassuring and confident that I would look great and not to worry. She was absolutely right about that too. I'll admit I'm not a naturally attractive person, so the fact that Carola could make me look really good for an entire day says a lot about Carola's skill as a make-up artist. I had my hair down for the church ceremony, and during the cocktail hour Carola and Shirley made the make-up a little more dramatic and put my hair up for the reception. They showed up at the right place at the right time! (I may get criticized for saying this, but for any brides who are (like I was) genuinely worried about not being gorgeous and photo-ready on their wedding day, splurging on expert hair and make-up can REALLY help boost your confidence and reduce stress. Certainly helped me!) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Carola and Shirley, if expert make-up and hair is important to you.

Carola Myers did my hair and makeup for my wedding out in Hamilton VA on April 22, 2017. She gave me two trials (because I wasn't crazy about the first one, didn't know how to explain what I wanted) and wow, we all looked fabulous if I do say so myself. She did my wedding party as well and we were wowed by her and her partners skills, attention to detail, and creativity. Carola is so patient and I am SUPER picky so she had her work cut out for her. Carola and her team did an AMAZING job on my wedding day. Not only does Carola do such beautiful work, but she is kind, thoughtful, and funny, and really zapped away any stress surrounding the makeup process. Carola's team of experts did the makeup and hair for my seven bridesmaids, and everyone loved their work and spending the morning with them.

Also important when planning, her services are very reasonably priced compared to what others are charging in and around DC -- which was SUCH a nice surprise given her experience (and her famous clientele). But she is not one to brag.

Before the trial, I'd recommend sending Carola pictures of makeup styles that you like and think would work for for you on your wedding day. I didn't come in as prepared as I should have, and, looking back, wish I had spent the extra time prepping in advance.

Before I begin my review, I want to say a gracious and sincere thank you to Carola for coming to the Four Seasons on such short notice to do my bridal makeup after my original vendor botched my application earlier that day. Thank you so much Carola for giving me a flawless, stunning look in time for my reception. You truly saved the day and I am forever grateful.

Carola is a beautiful and compassionate artist. She was unpacked, set up and ready to start as soon as I walked through the door. She took the time to calm me down with the soothing scent of lavender oil, which completely melted away the extreme stress I was experiencing after the botched job earlier and just having rushed back to the venue. She has a soothing voice and talked me through until I was calm and collected and ready for what would be the best beauty experience of my life on the most important day of my life.

Her techniques are flawless and immediately I could see that she had decades of experience without even having to tell me. Her foundations were a mix of the same high end brands that I use myself every day-- Chanel, Dior, Smashbox and Bobbi Brown to name a few. She was able to match the golden yellow tones in my Mediterranean skintone effortlessly-- no garish pink tones or orange splotches...just natural and flawless. Her eyeshadow application and lash placement was fabulous. We chatted about skin care and makeup brands that we both use and love. It was refreshing to have an artist with the same appreciation for couture beauty.

The face she gave me was a glamorous evening look, yet soft and feminine. I didn't even have to instruct her on the look I wanted -- being a professional in the field, she knew exactly what I was hoping for.

Every single person present complimented me on how beautiful I looked and how fabulous my makeup was.

If it were not for Carola, my wedding day makeup would have been a disaster. She truly saved the day with such grace, integrity and pure talent.

I can say with the utmost sincerity that Carola is literally the BEST makeup artist I have ever met. I have lived all over the country & have made finding a personal make up artist for special events a priority in each location. I have definitely had the privilege of working with some very talented individuals; however, no one has ever made me feel more beautiful than Carola. She did my makeup for my rehearsal dinner & my wedding. I was going for different looks for each occasion. To say that Carola merely met my expectations would be the understatement of the century. She truly exceeded them. (I am not famous by any means, but I can assure you that the above-noted comment means a lot coming from me. I have lived in DC for 3 years & it took me 3 years to find her. That may sound ridiculous, but I think that if you are going pay someone to do your make-up, they should make you feel beautiful. It's actually harder to find, than one may think!).
Carola made me feel gorgeous. I know I mentioned this earlier, but I feel it necessary to reiterate that no one will make you feel more stunning that Carola. She is not just talented, but truly gifted. She also did the make up for my bridal party (including my sister, mother, & mother-in-law). Each of them truly looked stunning (ask any of them & I know they'd say the same). Carola goes out of her way to master the look you are seeking (she even studied photos of me prior to the trial to learn about my bone structure!).

Mrs. Myers and her assistant were AMAZING AND VERY PROFESSIONAL. I am very happy to have worked with her. I definitely considered them like a family after the amazing job they have done for me. Carola's makeup made me look beautiful and myself on my wedding day. I am so thankful I had her to do my makeup.
In addition, Carola was very flexible. When I had a last-minute request to do a makeup trial on a certain day so I could have the makeup done for our engagement photo session, she shifted her own schedule to make that happen.
The morning of my wedding was tense with family dynamics but Carola's loving presence was a refuge for me.

Carola and her team did a wonderful job on my hair and makeup for my wedding! They also did the hair and makeup of 2 of my bridesmaids and my mother-in-law. I would have liked to find a bit more of a budget-friendly vendor, but their beautiful work can not be denied. I was also able to book them on fairly short notice (6 weeks) when another vendor fell through.

It was wonderful to have Carola be a part of my wedding day and would highly recommend her services.

Carola & her team were very easy to work with and they worked so quickly on my wedding day that we were slightly ahead of schedule. They arrived on time & took the stress of getting all of the bridesmaids (5) and myself done in the time we had (4 hrs). Carola's prices are slightly higher than other makeup & hair vendors because she has more experience working with celebrity clientele. While Carola did my makeup and coached her team during my trial session, she was not present at my wedding. However, her team did an excellent job without her watching over them. They made sure everyone looked perfect before they left, which meant doing touch ups for those that went earlier in the day. Also, they took pictures of their work back to Carola for proof of their perfection. I would definitely use Carola and her team again for any formal evenings I need hair and makeup done. Her team is worth the expense.

Carola and her team provided hair and makeup services to me and my bridesmaids for my wedding on Sept 20. They did an amazing job! My makeup lasted all night as did my updo. Carola and her team were amazing. She asked a lot of questions in an effort to get to know my personality and what 'look' I wanted. I did a trial run w/her for my engagement pictures - and they turned out amazing! My wedding was 3 hours outside of the DC metro area so I wasn't sure it would be worth the expense once I factored in the travel time, but once I saw my engagement pictures, a professional make-up artist moved from my 'that would be nice' budget list to 'must have'. In the grand scheme of things, her fees are really reasonable for what you'll get...which is feeling like a movie star on your big day.

Carola and her staff were a pleasure to work with! They provided on-location hair and make-up services for myself and my bridal party for my wedding. They were friendly, professional, and accommodating, and we were all very pleased with our looks. Carola and her staff are very talented and were able to give me the bridal look I wanted. Carola was also flexible and accommodating in terms of working within our budget. She was extremely responsive and communicative throughout the planning and wedding process. Carola and her team did hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids. I was thrilled with her work. She took the time to talk to me about what kind of look I wanted and was always responsive to my questions in the months leading up to my wedding. I felt like she made me look like the best version of myself and was very conscientious of my bridesmaids requests for a "natural" look. Carola and her team did an absolutely amazing job for my wedding earlier this month! Carola was very helpful in helping me discover my wedding day look and was very attentive to any questions I had along the way. Rakshi, the artist who did the actual makeup for myself, my sister-in-law, my aunt, and my mom was absolutely fantastic! She arrived early and was able to set up so we could get started with makeup as quickly as possible. Both Carola and Rakshi were so wonderful to work with and made this step of the wedding process fun and completely stress-free. I would highly recommend Carola's services!

Carola and her team were excellent! They did hair and make-up for myself and my bridal party (mom and 2 sisters). My family still talks about how sweet they were and how relaxed we felt before the wedding. Carola had provided her makeup artist services for my wedding on October 2007 so when I decided to get my makeup done professionally for my cousin’s wedding I knew exactly who to contact! When I called Carola, she greeted me like long time friend with her warm and kind expressions – she even remembered small details of me after 7 years! She was also extremely flexible with my tight schedule and went out of her way to accommodate me. Just like on my wedding day, Carola employed her unique artistry abilities to bring out the natural beauty she is able to masterfully identify – making you feel like a precious gem! The entire experience was pleasant and felt like a soothing retreat as Carola engages you in meaningful conversation, always focused on listening to your needs. Carola Myers is enchanting and takes her time getting to know each person to design a different, individual look based off of their vision and how they want to see themselves. She listens, works thoughtfully and everyone she works on looks so incredibly polished.
I was lucky enough to have Carola apply my wedding make-up.
She helped me create a look for that day and I seriously have never felt more beautiful. She took such care and combined with her ability; the whole experience was amazing- she turned my already gorgeous mother into a knock out, and she created outstanding looks for a few of my bridesmaids. One bridesmaid who wanted to do her own make-up was struggling and Carola came to the rescue; even gave advice on products and application tricks she had learned over the years. She has a limitless list of experience.
Carola was fantastic and I cannot say enough positive things about her. She will be my go to for all big events from now on, and considered a family friend!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Carola Myers. She did the bridal trial at her house in VA and it was truly a lovely experience. She is so kind, friendly, warm, and personable. She has such a calming and relaxing presence about her. But that is only half the story.... her ability to transform the average person into a glamorous bride is REMARKABLE! Her techniques in airbrushing, eyelash extensions, eyebrow grooming, and even mini-lessons on make up application made her services different than other make up artists. On the day of the wedding she did my make up and several of my bridesmaids keeping us on schedule despite the last minute addition of another bridesmaid. Everyone looked amazing. It was natural yet glamorous. She made me look so pretty that when my groom (now husband) saw me for the first time, he cried and said he was taken by how beautiful I looked. The credit goes to Carola and Meg (hair). I would highly recommend their services.

From our very first meeting at her home studio in VA, I knew I'd found the right make up artist for my Big Day. From day one, Carola Myers made me feel extremely comfortable and she listened to what I wanted.
Carola's talent and skill level exceeded my expectations, and I've never felt so glamorous in my entire life! My mother and sister felt more beautiful than they had in years, and knowing my family felt good, made me feel fantastic! Paired with an excellent photographer, we now have the most amazing visual memories from our wedding. Not only was she helpful with suggestions for products to keep on hand for the Big Day, but she was flexible, and considerate of all of my requests. (Tweaking the eye shadow shade, pumping up the eyes while keeping the lips more subdued, etc.)
Carola even had a solution for my groom, who was nervous about sweating during our September wedding which took place in an outdoor garden in DC. I highly recommend booking Carola and her team! Carola and her team are amazing and talented make-up artists. I went to a trial with Carola and felt very comfortable and loved the way my make-up came out. Carola created the most flawless and natural makeup look for me and my mother. She truly has the talent to bring out your best features and make you a more gorgeous version of yourself without looking overdone and it feels light as air! My makeup did not budge the entire night--despite dancing and sweating so much! People were coming up to me and commenting on how amazing my makeup looked many hours after it had been appleid--that's how good Carola is! And more importantly, in pictures the makeup looked amazing--which says a lot since usually I looked either washed out or overly made up. My photographer also commented on what a great makeup artist I must have as the pictures he took looked so beautiful!
I give Carola my highest recommendation--it will be one of your best decisions!!

Carola Myers was far and away one of my most favorite vendors and one of the best makeup artists (if not the very best) in the DC area!!! As someone who loves makeup, I knew finding the right makeup artist was imperative. Carola is an expert makeup artist; professional, timely and responsive; but perhaps most of all, a truly kind person and a joy to be around.
She is an exceptional listener, which was demonstrated to me from the very beginning. During our trial, we talked about skincare, skin preparation and really explored all the different products we would be using on my wedding day. On the day of our wedding, she brought all the same items and colors from the trial (even a lip color that had been discontinued, but Carola managed to find it and bring a few extras!). She also put together a wonderful kit for me for touch-ups, which was perfect for my honeymoon.
Carola’s team was also top notch. With 5 bridesmaids, 2 moms and 3 flower girls, they were able to do everyone’s hair and makeup in 5 hours. They even did touch-ups at the end to make sure everyone looked picture-perfect. They were so attentive, and one of my bridesmaids and very dear friends said, “I only wish I could have looked this good on my wedding day!" I also don’t think I’ve ever seen my mom (who never wears makeup) look so stunning. What’s more, my makeup and false eyelashes lasted through 12 hours of 99 degree weather, extreme humidity, laughter, tears, dancing and countless hugs.
Maybe even more important than how Carola made me look on my wedding day, though, was how she made me feel. As a bride, no matter how organized and perfect your planning is, on the day of, it’s difficult not to get lost in the stress. Thankfully, Carola has an incredibly calming effect on people. Despite the stress,I was able to be pampered and feel present in the experience, all while spending quality time with the most important women in my life. I am so, so indebted to Carola. She is the best, truly.

I highly recommend Carola as a makeup artist! I used Carola and her team for hair and makeup at my wedding. Everything was wonderful. She worked within my budget and the entire process was explained very clearly. The makeup and hair turned out exactly as I had asked for. Carola was calm, collected, and just a sweet energy to be around from the minute I went to see her for my trial. She quickly picked up on my make up taste & style and knew what would be "too much" for me, however, for my bridesmaids she matched their wants and tastes perfectly to their desires. She arrived at my home appropriately on time, however, as any wedding day can go, the rest of the wedding party was running around and being late, Carola took it upon herself to make sure we were all on time and done with our makeup and looking exquisite to that matter with adaquate amount of time. Carola called on one of her assistants to come that came quickly to help bring the wedding party back on track. At the end of the day, my make up stayed glowing and beautiful and my bridesmaids looked stunning with their makeup. Carola not only came to my home for the makeup trial, she found a hair stylist she trusted to also do my hair trial. While my friends watched the trial, she offered tips and advice. Unexpectedly, during the wedding day, my mother decided she wanted her makeup done too. My mom has very sensitive skin and wears minimal makeup. Not only did Carola make my mom completely comfortable with the types of makeup she was using and the technique, she looked beautiful- which made her comfortable and confident all day. My makeup lasted from noon to 3am - one amazing wedding. My neices were in awe in the amount of makeup, shades, and ease Carola brought and applied my makeup. I highly recommend her services. Worth every pennyp and her prices are reasonable in DC area!

Carola did my makeup as well nearly all my bridesmaids and both moms and everyone looked sensational! One of my married BMs said, "This is better than the makeup I had at my own wedding!"
everything looked so natural and stayed perfect all night. She was also extremely flexible and negotiated a fair rate to return and do touchups after the ceremony and before i went into the reception so i looked perfectly fresh again. It also photographed extremely well. I was also impressed that although I went in requested airbrush foundation, she told me that i didn't need it and that she could do a much better job without it (and if i'd done airbrush, it would have been more $ for her, so that showed me she really wanted me to look my best). I had one other makeup trial with a very well known artist and left it looking like a clown with airbrush foundation all in my hair and feeling discouraged and ugly. Carola helped me get over that experience and allow me to trust her to make me look amazing at my wedding.

Carola is truly amazing to work with. She is friendly and affable. I like it when professionals suggest things and I go along with it and it works fabulously. Everyone kept complimenting my makeup.

She also did a fab job on my mother in law and my mother as well. I will be hiring Carola for other events in my life, such a graduation.

Carola Myers is the most personable and talented makeup artist in Washington DC. She creates incredibly elegant faces, truly cares about her clients and goes above and beyond to make their day special. I recommended her to my very best friend for her wedding when I served as her maid of honor at the W Hotel. Carola has done the makeup for our cover shoots, fashion editorials, beauty pages, and society portraits, but more importantly, she is who we turn to do our makeup.

Carola is always my first call for an important occasion and she should definitely be yours too!

I was so lucky to have Carola do makeup for me, my bridesmaids and the moms. She did such a wonderful job. Even though it snowed the day of the wedding, and she had to go do makeup for the kennedy center honors that night, she still got there in plenty of time to make everyone look lovely. She honestly made me look so beautiful, but yet natural. I didn't have the feeling that I didn't look like myself. It was just a much better put together me. I couldn't have asked for more. She was truly amazing!

I had the honor and privilege of having my hair and make up done by Carola Myers and her associate Meg Walsh. I will be the first to admit that I am extremely particular about my hair and makeup, and Carola sure did not disappoint. She made me feel the most beautiful I've ever felt on my wedding day. She is a warm and kind hearted person and her talent is unmatched by any other. She creates a custom look that complements your face. My friend was so impressed by the work that she did on me and my bridesmaids, she booked Carola within a week of my wedding. The make up does not feel heavy or cakey, and lasts all day. I cannot put into words how happy I was with my wedding day look and if you are in the DC metro area, I highly recommend Carola Myers for all your special events!

Carola and her associates were wonderful to work with. Compared to other stylists that I interviewed, Carola was much more engaged in the process of figuring out what I was looking for in both hair and makeup. We had multiple conversations, and she asked for pictures of both myself and samples of what I wanted. I live out of town, so was unable to meet with her in person prior to the trial. She did my makeup on the day of the wedding, and her colleague did my hair. They both did a wonderful job, it was a fun, pleasant, and relaxed morning in the salon. I recommend Carola highly.

Loved working with Carola again (we hired her for my sister's wedding in September). I wanted to hire her and her team again for my wedding as they so helped to keep everything calm and moving along at my sister's wedding. Carola was super helpful and is so kind. We picked out some hair extensions for me, which I later did not love, and she helped to switch them out, no problem. She is really running an empire of girls and will definitely have someone who can work well with you, regarding what physically you are looking for, as well as who you are looking to work with personality-wise. Poor Carola, a few weeks before my wedding, the hairstylist bailed on everyone and apparently moved from the country. Carola came with a new stylist to my house and did my makeup again, gratis, while my hair was being done. Fortunately, some things work out-- and I loved this version of the hair much better! She really went above and beyond to solve the problem, even though it all came out of her pocket. Everyone was prompt and lovely on my wedding day, and fully responsive to what my bridal party was looking for. It is nice that she has such wonderful girls working so hard for her. Now I am just sad I don't have another event to hire her for at the moment, but I would again in a heartbeat!

Carola and her team were great to work with, and ensured that our make up looked flawless for our wedding. I had Carola's associate make up artist, Logan, do my make up since Carola was already booked for our date, and she did an outstanding job, creating just the natural look I wanted while ensuring that the make up would last throughout the day and show up well in photos. Carola supervised the trial, and we all worked together to create my look for the wedding. Logan executed it flawlessly, and was very laid back and calm during this crazy time. She also helped with some last minute hair issues. I attribute a big part of the success of our wedding photos to Logan's top notch make up application.

We were extremely pleased with our hair and makeup provided by Carola Myers. My mother, maid of honor, and I all had our makeup done by Carola and were so impressed with her work! I had two hair trials and one makeup trial with Carola and one of her hair stylists, Neda, before the wedding and they were very kind and helpful to me.

I was so happy that I chose them because as a result I felt beautiful on the big day, and received wonderful compliments - I even had guests telling me that I looked like a princess, like Grace Kelly! My brother said he had never seen me look so beautiful. So sweet! You really cannot put a pricetag on feeling confident about how you look on your wedding day. Not only will you be more relaxed, you can rest assured that your groom thinks you look wonderful, and that you'll be happy with your wedding photos, too. I was on cloud 9 and felt so good about myself that day thanks in part to the services provided by Carola Myers. When you think about it, all this planning, time, energy, and money has come down to this one day, and shouldn't you look and feel your best on that day? I think so! Carola is so nice too, she provides you with touchup make up and powder to use throughout the day and evening.

My mother and maid of honor were extremely satisfied with their makeup as well. Neda gave pretty updo's to me and two of my bridesmaids and styled the hair of the flower girl, my mother and my aunt. Our hair all looked great! It was so worth it! My only minor issue is that Carola arrived about 15 minutes late because she couldn't find the hotel room at first, and then later we were running late (for other reasons) and I wanted to hurry up and finish because we had to get our pictures taken and she did not seem particularly concerned with the time. The photographer had to leave to go to the venue and I did not get to take pictures in my wedding dress with my bridesmaids in the hotel room because I wasn't ready yet, so that was a disappointment. In retrospect we should have started the day earlier. I arrived late to the venue to take pictures before the wedding. We managed to get some pictures taken before the ceremony but it was a little rushed. This is not to say that it is Carola's fault (bigger factors were that our transportation ran late and the florist had to redo my bouquet) just that there is a time component that comes into play and it's important to stay on top of it.

In addition to being extremely talented and professional, Carola and her stylist are warm, friendly, supportive, calm, and helpful, which really eases your mind on such an important day when you might otherwise be stressed. She helped me to feel more relaxed getting ready and when she was done I felt confident and beautiful! She really knows makeup and is excellent at what she does. I would highly recommend Carola and her stylists to any bride who wants to look beautiful on her wedding day.

Perfect Wedding Day Look

My bridesmaids and I really enjoyed working with Carola and her team for the wedding hair and make-up! Carola is very easy to work with and low stress, and helped turn my Pinterest ideas into the perfect look for my wedding day. I visited her studio a few months prior to the wedding for my hair and make-up trial; the salon was very nice and it was great to try out the hair style in particular as we decided to tweak it for the big day. On the wedding day, Carola and her colleague set up at our venue so it was very convenient to get ready. They provided a variety of hairstyles and make-up options for my family members and bridesmaids. They worked closely with me to tweak my hair so it was exactly what I wanted on my wedding day. Carola even corresponded with one of my bridesmaids after the big day to provide guidance on recreating her look. I highly recommend Carola Myers!

Carola is simply amazing, and my hairstylist was phenomenal as well! She is a wonderful person, and stellar makeup artist, I was beyond pleased with the hair and makeup services I received on my wedding day. The only reason I gave 4/5 for professionalism is she arrived about 30 minutes late and took so long on the first person's makeup, that the last 2 people in my bridal party had to be rushed at the end. So, the time schedule was a bit of a problem, but it all ended up working out and everyone looked fantastic, it was just a bit of unexpected day-of stress to have the timing be so off. But again, well worth it, great services!

I didn't know when I hired Carola that she is a famous MUA, having done camera ready makeup for numerous politicians and celebrities- needless to say when I found that out I was STOKED. Carola is warm, chatty (sometimes a little too chatty and worried me with time spent on each person - myself included), and really listens to what you want/how you see yourself. I did a trial with her in her home in Fairfax and loved what she did but the morning of the wedding we decided it was a little too glam and wanted to go a little softer once she saw the aesthetic of my wedding. She and her assistant came about 30 mins later than expected the morning of the wedding because they went to the wrong hotel (fine but a little nerve wracking) and worked right up to the wire with me needing to get my dress on to go. That was a little hectic but everyone looked fabulous, enhanced versions of themselves not overly 'done up' which is exactly what I wanted! Treat yourself and the VIP women in your wedding and hire Carola.

Overall when booking hair/make up, make sure you know all the costs up front. I found with many vendors, it was hard to compare costs because they weren't always clear (take into account, travel fees, trials, parking, included tips, etc.).

Carola and her team were fantastic! When booking, you'll have to specify if you want Carola herself or one of her artists. Carola is slightly more expensive, but she is so knowledgeable and talented, that it was worth every penny. She not only did an excellent job on my makeup (and my girls) she also helped with some airbrush on my body that needed to be covered up. It was perfect! She is so sweet and easy to work with. It is very obvious that she has extensive experience and knows how to make people comfortable. Her team showed up on time for the day of and stayed until everyone was happy (including touch ups, first look photos, etc.). We never felt rushed or like she had us on a clock.

Carola and her team are amazing!!!. The makeup lasted my entire wedding, through a particularly hot DC summer day with outdoor photos and hours and hours of dancing. Carola listened to me and gave me stunning, fresh makeup (not the typical overdone wedding makeup that I often see). She did a great job arranging hair and makeup for 13 people and everyone (including bridesmaids who had been in a zillion weddings) said that Carola and her team provided the best makeup they had ever seen for everyone in the group across the board. I was married last week, and several people have already contacted me for her info.

Carola was also great making sure that I found a hair style that I loved. I have curly hair and had no idea what to do with it. She walked me through the process, going through several trials, until we found something that could last all night that also didn't feel like an updo. Your wedding day is the time to "get it right" and I felt like I did because of Carola. In sum, I'd recommend her in a heartbeat.

Carola was wonderful to work with and I am happy to recommend her highly. I was very hesitant to hire a makeup artist at all because I am super picky about makeup. During my trial I was not entirely happy with the look she gave me but after letting her know the areas I was not happy with, she readjusted the look. I was completely and enthusiastically pleased with her work on my wedding day. She listened to what I wanted and used her mastery of makeup to give me the look I was hoping for. I feel like I truly looked like myself, just enhanced. She gave me an elegant look that matched perfectly with my dress and location. In addition, she was a warm and calming addition to our wedding morning madness. She is funny, warm, and truly cares about her clients. She also did the makeup for one of my very picky bridesmaids, and I can honestly say I have never seen her look so good. Her eyes were amazing. I'm an events professional working in DC. Carola and her team (Shirley, Logan, and Carol Lynn) provided hair and makeup services for my June 2015 wedding at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, MD. They are expensive (even for the DC area). However, Carola was willing to negotiate within my budget. In the end, the splurge was entirely worth it and I felt stunning and relaxed on my wedding day. From my first phone conversation with Carola, she made me feel at ease. I live in DC and do not have a car, so when it came time for my trial Carola and Shirley came to my apartment (on-site does cost extra). However, the convenience made it worthwhile as their offices are out in Fairfax. During the trial, they listened to my feedback and adjusted as requested. For example, I wanted to tone down the smokiness of my eye makeup. When it came to the day of, I LOVED my hair and makeup!

One thing to note: when you sign your contract, you will be responsible for a deposit of 50% of the total cost (which includes an automatic 20% gratuity on each service + travel fees). The remaining 50% is due one week prior to your wedding. The benefit of this is you and your family/friends aren't dealing with any transactions whatsoever on the day of -- you can totally relax and enjoy being pampered. For me, I really appreciated this and it made the day all the smoother. However, if you aren't covering hair/makeup services for everyone, it does require a bit of pre-planning. We had 14 in our group, so I emailed each individual with the cost of their services + gratuity and requested they pay me via Venmo a week before the wedding. This helped alleviate fronting the expenses on my end.

Overall, Carola and her team are extremely talented stylists who LISTEN to what you want. They are responsive, punctual, professional, and fun! We enjoyed having them as part of our day. If you can find it in your budget to use them, I would highly recommend you do so.

Carola was a wonderful person to work with - warm caring and attentive. I enjoyed working with her and cannot wait to do so again! I was confident in her work after our trial, I received many compliments on my makeup. As a South Asian, it's hard to find makeup artists that will work with skin tones of various ranges, and who will understand the artistry that goes into our culture. Because of her extensive experience and her listening skills, she was able to look at my outfit and determine a beautiful look that would bring out the best in me. Further, she went out of her way to get to know me as a person and help me further my connections in a new city. She is someone you want to work long-term with!

Carola did the makeup for my sister, my mom, and myself. Our makeup day-of was great. She is very warm and took a lot of time the morning of my wedding to make sure everything looked great. She also was thoughtful and gave me a little pad for dabbing sweat which proved extremely useful during the dancing so that my makeup stayed!

Carola's prices were originally much higher than I wanted to pay. She was able to help find ways to accommodate my budget, but it was still very expensive. But I chose her for makeup because of the great reviews and the makeup really was beautiful.

I used Carola because she was recommended by the wedding planner at my venue. She is obviously talented, friendly, and experienced. I did a trial at her home, which turned out well (although she is very chatty and it did take almost 3 hours). She responded promptly to emails and was on time. For the wedding she did makeup for my mother and me. I think she was a bit slow doing my mom's makeup, so I felt like we had to rush a little bit with my makeup. For some reason, she decided not to do fake eyelashes on me even though we had done them for the trial - not sure why. Then, when I was about to leave for our "first look" --which we were running late for-- she insisted on taking her own personal photos of me in weird poses against the wall. I had cut her off so I could run downstairs to start my real photos, which made me feel a little awkward. My makeup did look good-- I got compliments on it all night. I thought the price for the trial, and makeup for my mom and I was pretty steep. Overall, if I had to do it again I think I would do my own makeup.

I hired Carola and her team for my recent wedding. While Carola does a great job on makeup, and the stylist that did my hair, DJ was AMAZING, I was not pleased with the overall services provided to me. I had a rather larger bridal party and when I made my first contact with Carola and expressed how much money I was willing to pay for the bridesmaids, she put me at ease, assured me that the hair stylists she works with have been doing hair for decades, etc. I had some communication issues with Carola from my trial, and I should have known then not to hire her for my wedding. She was flexible with the costs of the services, and seemed accommodating, but what I didn't know was that I would be sacrificing professionalism and experience! Fast forward to my wedding day, Carola arrived about 30 minutes late, and didn't seem to care at all. Aside from DJ, who again, was phenomenal and managed to do 8 girls' hair, in addition to mine in just 4 hours, Carola brought another 'stylist' to do the remainder Bridesmaids' hair. This person, does not even do hair professionally! She even told one of my bridesmaids that she just does this on the side, and brought CVS brand hair products-- it doesn't take much to realize that this person doesn't truly do hair. All of the girls who had their hair done by her had to get fixed by one of my bridesmaids who just happens to do hair professionally, and thank goodness for her, otherwise 4 of my BMs' hairs styles would have looked terrible. Carola is a great talker, and you believe her when she speaks, but I found my experience disappointing. I was very happy with MY overall look, and in the end all of the girls looked great (thanks to my cousin hairstylist), but the dishonesty is something that I cannot get past. While Carola is a wonderful artist, she doesn't bring a great team with her. She finds who she can and some of these people clearly don't even do this for a living.

Not worth it

Carola is very talented, but frankly I just don't think she is worth the time or money. When looking at makeup artists for my wedding, I reached out to Carola, and she set up a phone call with me. After nearly an hour on the phone with my getting an idea of my style, we set up a hair and makeup trial. I let her know that I would be scheduling the trial during my lunch break and had two hours max, and she assured me that would be enough time. Well, when the day arrived for my trial, Carola's hair stylist DJ arrived on time. I let her in my apartment complex and she began working on my hair. Carola called me to tell me she was running late AFTER my appointment had already started. She showed up half an hour late, and I had to walk back down through my apartment complex with half of my hair done to let her in. And not only was she late, but she spent nearly FOUR HOURS doing my makeup and chatting. One thing to note, is she will mention that she has done Nicolas Cage's makeup and was an extra in National Treasure 2. She also has created her own makeup brand and will try to sell you on that as well. She was very friendly, but honestly I just couldn't believe she spent more time chatting than working on me. I liked my overall makeup look, and DJ did a great job on my hair but I just thought it was really inconsiderate to show up late and waste so much time. Not worth it in my opinion, and I didn't want to risk that on my wedding day.

I would say to save your time and patience level and not rely on this particular vendor. She was late to my trial appointment and it took hours to do my makeup. I ended up not using her services... but if you want your vendor to be on time to your big day, I would say proceed with caution.
