We had the hardest time finding a venue that fit our budget, and my must haves. Once we toured Captain Bills we fell in love with it immediately, and once we saw the price we were in shock. I had to send my mom there by herself just to make sure I wasn’t missing anything and that my husband and I didn’t have tunnel vision. Shannon, Chloe and Paula were absolutely fantastic when it came to coordinating the event. They were so attentive and always answered my emails quickly. The day of coordinator and maitre d were fantastic and they always made sure my husband and I were okay and always had a drink in our hand! The food was fantastic and the views are amazing. I had so many people come up to me and tell me how much fun they were having and how much they loved the venue. We did have a raw bar during cocktail hour, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had someone shucking the clams and oysters for our guests at the raw bar! I honestly thought it was just going to be pre-shucked and placed on the station. We had just about 160 people and also added on the additional bartender (3 total), I definitely recommend this so there are no bar lines! They recently painted and got new chairs for the venue and it looks so amazing. If you have champagne taste with a beer budget I HIGHLY recommend touring here, I even told my friends the cost of everything we got with the venue and they were shocked!

We had our wedding in the Bayview House at Captain Bills. The experience was incredible from start to finish, the planning, set up, ceremony, food, and service. My husband and I decided to do this with only three months to plan and Captain Bills made it such a breeze, taking away so much stress! They were extremely accommodating of my food allergies and guest food restrictions. All of our guests raved about the service and food from the enormous cocktail hour, seated dinner, and dessert. The room at the Bayview house is gorgeous with great views into the marina. The location was great for guests with tons of parking on site and hotels, Airbnbs, and bed and breakfasts close by. The venue provided exceptional food and service for such a reasonable price. We couldn’t be happier with how our special day turned out. Thank you Captain Bills!

All of the catering managers, especially Paula, were very accommodating. They were easy to reach by phone and readily available to meet in person to answer questions and to see the venue. They also worked very well with my wedding coordinator prior to and the day of the wedding.

Cannot say enough good things about this venue. They were super responsive and helpful to all our questions and wants. Day of Coordinator and Maître-de were extremely helpful along with the events staff leading up to the wedding. We had a perfect day and cant recommend the Bayview House enough!

Starting with personnel, leading up to and day of our wedding Shannon and Paula in the events department went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. The wedding reception was amazing - the bridal attendant and maitre d were so fantastic taking care of not only my husband and I but my guests as well. Above all the kindness and attentiveness, we felt their excitement for us as a couple which was really special.

The food was perfect. Our guests are still raving about how great it was and how much at cocktail hour, especially! One thing they noted was how dinner came out hot which at some weddings doesn't always happen so that was great to hear.

The views are unmatched at Captain Bill's. We had a beautiful, clear night with a pretty sunset. Taking pictures on the dock was a last minute decision but they are beautiful and some of our favorites!

On July 5th we had our wedding at Captain Bill's Bayview House in Bayshore, and it was an absolute dream come true.
The Bayview House is a truly breathtaking venue located waterfront in the Bayview Marina. The marina provided a gorgeous backdrop for our photos, and our guests couldn't stop raving about the beauty of the location.
One of the biggest highlights for us (and our guests!) was the incredible variety of delicious food options offered by Captain Bills. They truly catered to every taste bud. We opted for passed/ stationed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour and a sit down dinner. The menu included a wide selection of seafood, succulent meats, gourmet vegetarian options, and decadent desserts, ensuring there was something delicious for everyone. The quality of the food matched its variety. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked, the Italian dishes were bursting with authentic flavor, and the meat options were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The presentation was equally impressive, adding a touch of elegance to the celebration.
A special thanks to Paula, our event coordinator, who was amazing throughout the entire planning process. She was incredibly responsive, helpful, and went the extra mile. Her expertise made everything run smoothly on our wedding day. The entire staff in fact was beyond amazingly attentive and made our special day flawless.
The Bayview House provided the perfect setting for our dream wedding. The combination of stunning scenery, delicious food, and exceptional service made our day truly unforgettable. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a magical and stress-free wedding experience.

We had our wedding in June 2022 at Captain Bill's in the Bayview house and overall had a wonderful experience. The staff and management staff exceeded our expectations for our wedding day and we were stunned when we walked into the room on our wedding day with the beauty of the room.
Overall we found Captain Bill's to be very reasonably priced for the beautiful space. The amount of food between the Cocktail Hour and Reception without any upgrades was staggering and far exceeded our guests' expectations. Captain Bill's also accommodated our desire to have two dock slips for the wedding for those arriving via boat and to "duet" the first and second course.
During COVID, we postponed our wedding and Captain Bill's was very understanding of our need to postpone, not introducing any charges or restrictions when the decision was made. Throughout the planning of the setup/decor of the Bayview house, we did run into some lack of flexibility in what we were allowed to do as far as set-up of the room, what type of decor we could rent and what was allowed to be changed. Ultimately, when the day approached Captain Bill's was more flexible that they initially indicated they would be about some decor rentals which was very much appreciated. However, I would recommend ensuring what you can/cannot do in writing if it is important to you to have the room set-up a certain way, or more importantly, if you want to bring in rented equipment, dishware, etc. We did not have issues on the day of however, as the staff was incredibly accommodating and understanding.
Our only other note for improvement is in the communication of set-up/access to the wedding venue. We were told that there were no other events in the Bayview house the entire day, but that turned out not to be true. This ended up not being an issue as our wedding planner adjusted our setup timeline and Captain Bill's was incredibly quick at turning the room, but this was a minor obstacle where communication could have ben improved.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and highly recommend. We looked at over 20 venues across Long Island and for the price, quality of food/service, and beauty of the Bayview House it was clear we made the right decision for our wedding day. Booked today! Large open floor plan. Surrounding marina perfect for pictures. Jamie showed us around and answered all our questions I already know the food is fantastic.

Chloe was the women I dealt with through my whole wedding planning process. She was wonderful. She helped me every step of the way with planning. Getting back to me in a reasonable time. Accomadated to my needs. Captain bills has amazing food and very responsibly priced. My wedding came out beautifully.

Food and service was beyond my expectations! The entire event was so professional and the hall was beautiful. I didn’t worry about one thing and my family/friends only had wonderful things to say. Perfect venue for such a special day!

Captain Bills organized the perfect rehearsal dinner for us. We had a 40 person buffet dinner with delicious food and efficient bar service. The staff was fantastic and very accommodating. Having a private room allowed us to have an intimate dinner with our closest family and friends. We highly recommend Captain Bills for any event.

I cannot say enough good things about this venue! From start to finish, the staff was professional, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Donna, Erin and the entire staff made our wedding dreams come true. They went out of their way to ensure all of our requests were met and made sure everything ran smoothly. I grew up in Bay Shore, and my family has been going to Captain Bill's for years. Over the years, I have attended several dinners, showers, and brunches at Captain Bill's, but nothing compares to the weddings that they put on. My parents suggested the venue when my husband and I got engaged last summer, and after visiting other venues, we knew that the Bayview House was the right spot for our wedding. We loved the personal attention that we received every step of the way. On any given day, we could call on the phone or walk in and have our questions answered by Mike, Kelly, Diane, Donna, or any one of the other fabulous staff members at Captain Bill's. No question or request was too big or too small. During our engagement, whenever I would tell people that we were getting married at Captain Bill's, the first words out of their mouth, every single time, were how amazing the food is at Captain Bill's. Well, the food certainly did not disappoint! The guests are still talking about the impressive cocktail hour and dinner selections. Equally as wonderful as the food is the location and views that the Bayview House offers. The large windows overlooking the water and the gorgeous chandeliers made the room look stunning. Luckily, we were blessed with picture perfect weather on April 9, 2017, and we had our ceremony onsite in front of the fireplace in the Bayview House, which was convenient for our guests. My husband and I cannot thank the staff of Captain Bills for the wedding of our dreams.
From the delicious food, gorgeous space, to the incredible staff, we couldn’t have been happier with our ceremony and reception. Donna and Kelly were so helpful in answering questions and making sure that every detail was to our liking. And on the day of, we were treated like royalty. Not only were they making sure we were fed and happy, but our maître d made sure to introduce herself to both sets of parents. My dad still jokes to this day that his glass of scotch was never left empty. Our family and friends still tell us how much they loved the food. I would recommend Captain Bills to anyone!

Amazing venue! Love the location and windows in the room, makes it perfect in the summer or early fall. the food is amazing and they did such a wonderful job for our wedding. Everyone loved the place and it was a blast!

My shower and rehearsal dinner were both held here. The food was amazing and the staff very nice. We had no issues for either event.

Captain Bill's and everyone that we dealt with went above and beyond to make our wedding special. We were only about 65 people but the staff made us feel as if we were a bigger wedding. The food was excellent at both the cocktail hour and the reception. I would not hesitate to recommend Captain Bill's to anyone who was looking for a catering venue.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Captain Bills. They were beyond great. Speaking and dealing with everyone was a pleasure. They made us feel so comfortable from the moment we went in to sit down to talk to them about our wedding to the actual day. Everyone there was so kind and gracious. I could not have asked for anything better. The food was delicious. The cocktail hour, dinner and cake were all fabulous. I highly recommend Captain Bills.

My husband and I cannot thank the staff of Captain Bills enough for the wonderful food, beautiful upkeep and service that we experienced from the planning process until the wedding day. Donna was so helpful answering all of our questions and working with us during the whole setup. When we delivered our decorations, Kelly helped carry it up the hot stairs and went over all of the details to be sure we felt comfortable.

On the day of the wedding, we were treated like a king and queen. Our family and friends have continuously told us that the food was out of this world. They couldn't believe that it was catered food! Most brides and grooms do not get a chance to eat that day but Anne and Karen made sure that we ate during cocktail hour with a beautiful setup for our bridal party. They also reminded us to eat during dinner and we were so glad that we did!

The best testament to the quality of service can be seen when issues happen. That night I ripped my bussle and a groomsman split his pants. Anne played seamstress that night and helped us fix our wardrobe malfunctions. She is an exceptional part of this amazing team. I would recommend Captain Bills to any family member or friend!

The Bayview House at Captain Bill's was the perfect choice for our wedding. We were married on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and they offered the Sunday pricing still, whereas many other local venues were going to charge the full Saturday rates since it was a holiday. We received so many overwhelmingly amazing comments about our food - especially due to the fact that there was SO MUCH FOOD to be had. Our cocktail hour alone was enough to be like a dinner. We had 184 guests seated comfortably, and the staff were so amazing to work with given that I did not hire a wedding coordinator. I gave them everything in advance and they were able to execute it exactly like I had pictured. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue. And even better, my parents were married in the same room 30 years ago, so it was a special memory.

We just had our wedding at the Bayview House. The service was exceptional and the food was amazing! The staff who I corresponded with was so helpful and anything I needed they tried to help as best as possible. I highly recommend the Bayview House!!!

Great food, beautiful scenery and friendly staff!

I can't say enough about The Bayview House or Captain Bill's (the Bayview house is a big event space next to the restaurant Captain Bill's, where bigger weddings can take place). We had our wedding on September 7th. Donna was our event manager and she was AMAZING. We also dealt with Diane there numerous times and she was also very good. Karen, the maitre D's assistant was also really great. We had our ceremony on the deck of the restaurant, our cocktail hour in the harborview and waterview rooms (they take the wall down in between so it's one big room and guests also have access to the deck for the cocktail hour), and our reception was next door at the Bayview house which has a bridal suite and a tented back deck that can be used by guests during the reception. We received so many compliments on ALL of the food...there was not one complaint. Everything was hot and everything was delicous. Even the tasting was hard to choose from because everything was so delicious. We went with the free range chicken, sliced filet mignon and the horseradish salmon with cucumber salsa. We really did have multiple people tell us it was the best wedding they'd ever been t. The pass around apps were delicious during cocktail hour, and we also did jumbo shrimp (pass around) and a clam and oyster bar, along with an extra 1/2 hour added on to the cocktail hour. The price was VERY fair for everything offered and the cake was also included (you have to pay for upgrades like fondant or certain designs). There's really nothing bad I can say about my venue or the wedding day it was literally perfect.

This venue offers a great view with an expansive menu for a reasonable price.

The Bayview House at Captain Bill's was the first venue I look at after I got engaged and I knew that nothing would compare. It's location on the bay was perfect for what my husband and I were looking for. The ballroom is huge and wide open with high ceilings and beautiful windows. The deck where cocktail hour is held is perfect, overlooking the docks and the bay. I've been to plenty of other events at Captain Bill's and the food is always amazing. I feel that food at weddings is usually pretty forgettable but not at Captain Bill's; we had people calling us for days raving about the unbelievable food! Our Maitre'd and bridal attendant were great, very attentive, always had our drinks full, asking if we needed anything, we couldn't have asked for better service. Peter McCarthy (co-owner) and his staff took wonderful care of us from the very beginning. They were able to work with me to make some changes and additions to their normal menu without a problem, whatever we wanted, we got. Peter assisted us in making menu decisions, and we were not disappointed! I would recommend the Bayview House at Captain Bill's to anyone who is looking for a beautiful waterfront location for their wedding reception; with unbelievably delicious food and impeccable service. The prices were extremely reasonable as well. We loved The Bayview House!

We had a 3-hour cocktail reception that was phenomenal. The food was fantastic and there was plenty of it for everyone. The staff was attentive and responsive and took great care of us and our guests. The cost of the cocktail reception versus a sit-down formal was really resonable and everyone told us that they really liked the idea of NOT having a formal, sit-down, assigned seating, reception. Everyone!

Captain Bill's is definitely the place, on the water, clean, comfortable and delicious!

Captain Bill's is a beautiful waterfront catering hall/restaurant. We had perfect weather the day of our wedding, which allowed for cocktail hour to be outside on the deck and inside as well. We then walked over to the next building, the Bayview House, for the reception. The room can hold over 200 people, huge dance floor, another tented deck area over looking the Great South Bay in the back.
The service is top of the line, the food is AMAZING and the best part is, its on the water for a great price. I would HIGHLY recommend Captain Bill's to every and anyone.

We loved the restaurant. In fact, my husband and I met and he proposed there so we felt we just had to have our wedding at The Bayview House. We were so happy we did. We could not have been happier with the management and staff at Captain Bills. They were so unbelievably attentive and on top of things. They did everything to make sure my husband and I were comfortable and had no worries on the day of our wedding...including making sure we sat and ate! We decided on a buffet and people were telling us the food was so good they went up for seconds and thirds.

The Bayview House at Captain Bills was excellent. All the guests really enjoyed the food and the view of the pier. The staff was very attentive.

We have been to so many weddings since ours (less than a year ago) and people are still talking about how nice the place was and how good the food was. People have started going to their restaurant b/c of our wedding! Loved it!

I had the best wedding I could ever imagine thanks to the amazing service and staff at Captain Bill's. the setting was gorgeous and the food was out of this world. The service we received was better than I can imagine. They were extremely generous and responsive. I would recommend Captain Bill's to anyone planning an event!

Awesome!!!! Cannot say enough good things about this venue. Food was great staff was great my maiterdee was wonderful. Everyone loved the cocktail hour on the deck. I got married two years ago everyone still talks about it.

Captain Bills is a beautiful venue by the bay with breathtaking views and amazing food selections for an affordable price. Our guests have nothing but good things to say about the wedding. We had the best day of our lives at Captain Bills, but there were a couple of things to be aware of if you are planning on booking. If you are getting married outside on the deck, there are people who will be sitting outside of the deck behind a partition eating dinner. This wasn't something that was disclosed to us until the month before when we were meeting to go over the menu. You could hear them talking during the ceremony, but it wasn't loud enough to interfere. Additionally, there were many times that we were told they would contact us (to set up the food tasting, to finalize details, to drop off final payment), but that didn't happen and I felt a little stressed that I had to be the one to contact them to set up these important meetings. I had some decor go missing during clean up, which isn't a big deal, but I emailed after the ceremony and still haven't heard back. While overall, we had an amazing experience, something to take note is that this venue requires you to utilize a Maitre'D as most venues do. I did not have the most positive experience with mine. Because you only meet them on the day of, it felt very stressed and rushed trying to get everybody ready to walk down the aisle. My other vendors had the details of who was walking with who, where the bridal party was going to stand, etc. because I had met with him them numerous times months prior, but my maitre'd did not seem to want to work with them or listen to them. At times, she even became rude and argumentative with my DJ, officiant, and photographer. This was really the only time I felt stressed on my wedding day. Overall, I think she is a nice person who wanted to do her job well, but she was constantly coming up to me asking me questions that took away from me being able to spend time with my guests. For example, asking me when I was going to pack up my decor when there were still 3 hours left in the reception. While this wasn't the most positive experience in the moment, I do appreciate that she made sure to pack us up a variety of food that we didn't get to try to bring home. Overall, I would give Captain Bills (Bayview House) a 4/5 for communication and the above that I described.

Despite the hiccups (which luckiliy no one noticed), everything was beautiful. The view was amazing; the deck was perfect especially for the summer weather; food was great and the drinks kept pouring. Thank you for having us and letting us put on a huge production!
