We truly couldn’t have asked for a better officiant. Cantor Reut was absolutely fantastic in understanding our vision for a deeply personal and meaningful ceremony. She spent so much time with us leading up to the wedding, making sure we felt mentally prepared and walking through every detail to ensure it was exactly what we wanted—not just for us, but for our family and friends experiencing it alongside us.
She took the time to really get to know us, which made all the difference when she shared our love story so beautifully during the ceremony. She also helped guide us through writing our vows, which felt so special and authentic because of her support.
We especially appreciated having Cantor Reut as a couple who is Jewish but not affiliated with a specific temple—she brought such warmth, intention, and connection, and truly made it feel like she was part of our family.
10/10 would recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, caring, and incredibly talented officiant. -

Cantor Reut, was absolutely amazing. When first speaking with her we only had about 5 weeks until our wedding, although with her help we were able to get everything done in such little time. From all the meetings prior to the wedding so she can understand us as a couple and making sure that the wedding ceremony was curated to us. As an interfaith wedding she made sure to include both sides. Throughout the entire process she was lovely., she was also able to accommodate our hectic schedules. The love story that she had created for us was so beautiful, it really captured us. -

Cantor Re’ut is one of the kindest, most empathetic and insightful people I’ve ever met. She is truly devoted to shaping a day that is meaningful to everyone, filled with love, warmth, and joy.
When we were wedding planning, my (now) Husband and I wanted to craft a wedding that honored both of our backgrounds and cultures, and was true to the uniqueness of us as a couple. As an interfaith and interracial couple, this was a bit daunting. We knew we wanted our close friends to marry us, so we were looking for a Cantor or Rabbi to specifically help us write our Ketubah and craft a Ketubah ceremony. Before meeting Re’ut, we had talked with a few Cantors and Rabbis who didn’t quite share our vision, or gave us a hard time about what we wanted to do. From the jump though, Re’ut was different—immediately warm and funny, we instantly bonded. Her first response to hearing our vision was: “I LOVE THAT! What a beautiful way to honor you both as individuals and as a couple.” She also loved the untraditional wedding we were planning: a ceremony in a public park (Pier 17), and then taking the public ferry to the reception in Brooklyn. I was so worried what she’d think about us doing everything in public and what would happen if we couldn’t find a private room for the Ketubah. I need not have worried: she was immediately game for the entire thing! Hearing this, I knew she was someone we could trust and confide in.
We first connected with Re’ut about 6 months before our wedding, and met several times via zoom to craft the Ketubah and Ketubah Ceremony. Before our first official session, Re’ut gave us a questionnaire that helped her get to know us as individuals and as a couple. This also informed how she offered suggestions and advice. She used this questionnaire and the follow-up session to encourage my Husband to express his feelings as he slowly opened up to her, and in times when one of us couldn’t find the words to communicate something. This questionnaire also informed the Ketubah writing process, where she suggested language for us to use that captured us as a couple, and then workshopped it with us to make it truly ours. After writing the Ketubah, we shifted into shaping the Ketubah Ceremony. Here, Re’ut infused elements of my husband’s Jamaican background to make it a ceremony that honors both our traditions and celebrations. In fact, as Re'ut read the text during the Ketubah ceremony, I heard my (now) mother-in-law tell my mom how beautiful the vows were and how happy she was to hear Jamaican phrases included.
Logistics wise, Re’ut is incredibly flexible and understanding. Because all our meetings were virtual, she was really flexible about meeting times and durations. When she recognized emails were difficult for me to get back to, she suggested we text instead (which was much easier for me!). She truly worked with my crazy schedule, which we were so thankful for, especially as we got closer to the big day.
In every conversation, Re’ut leads with love and curiosity. She checked in with us at every stage of the process, and offered kindness and empathy when I shared my stresses (regardless of whether they were wedding-, work-, or life-related). Re’ut is someone you know genuinely cares about you and your wellbeing, who can work with anyone. She’s someone I know will always be part of our lives, even beyond our wedding day. I know she will always be here for us, for both the biggest and tiniest life moments, and I am forever grateful! -

Best decision!
From the moment we first met with Reut to decide who would officiate our wedding, we knew she was the easy choice! She was extremely kind and comforting from the start. She genuinely cares about making the day special and specific to what you want. Reut was flexible in crafting the ceremony to our desire and did not push anything we didn’t want.
Throughout the process, it was always a pleasure meeting with Reut. She always made us remember the real reason for the wedding and made the planning stressless. She is funny, nice, and so easy to work with.
The actual ceremony was beyond perfect and better than we ever imagined. Reut spoke beautifully and curated the ceremony exactly how we asked for it. We never had a doubt that Reut was the right choice, but she still greatly exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend, best decision we made! -

Cantor Reut brought spirituality and warmth to my son's Bar Mitzvah preparation and service. She spent time to get to know my son and to make sure he felt connected to the experience. Cantor Reut's gentle and soulful approach was much appreciated. She also encouraged him to take on more and to challenge himself and and this was great and panned out. Cantor Reut spent a lot of time designing the service and the program with us to make it personal and meaningful. The result was a wonderful service that our guests couldn't stop gushing about. Since we designed the service ourselves, we were able to honor our close family members and gave them roles so they also felt involved. The service kept our guests interested and wove in customized elements that made it unique. We loved having the service at the venue right before the party because it made the party more meaningful and made it clear what this is all about. We were incredibly lucky to have been able to work with Cantor Re'ut. We had an interfaith ceremony and with every step she ensured that we were both able to understand the process and meaning in a Jewish traditional ceremony, and was always willing and able to include aspects of my husband's religion and culture. With Re'ut we were able to build the most beautiful ceremony that blended our backgrounds, beliefs, and hopes, and her singing added an additional layer of magic. Our guests (even the ones who like to complain) mentioned how absolutely beautiful our ceremony was, and in many cases, we were told it was the most touching ceremony they had ever witnessed.
Re'ut was so flexible and easy to work with, we live in a different time-zone and she was always able to find times for us to connect and, when needed, squeeze in an extra call here and there to discuss and answer more questions.
We could really tell that Re'ut loves love and has a true talent for bringing out the beauty of a couple. I was nervous about writing my own vows, but Re'ut was able to guide us both to make it easy.

Best decision we made!
The moment we spoke to Reut on the phone we knew she was “the one.” She was instantly friendly and so welcoming. The process to the Chuppah was enriching and such a treat to both work with Reut and sit with each other to decide how to build our ceremony. It was such an important build up to the wedding and really meant that every part of the ceremony reflected a part of us.
Reut’s wisdom and kindness got us through that day. We had SO many guests compliment her beautiful ceremony and voice.
We feel honored to have her as our officiant. She perfectly blended Hebrew and English for our guests while still keeping the ceremony intimate, light and meaningful.

Our search for a cantor/rabbi was very specific. I am a professional wedding planner who was planning my own wedding. I also happen to be a gay, non-Jewish, ex-Broadway performer who was marrying a Jewish man with solid ties to the cultural traditions of his Jewish heritage. There were many boxes to tick in our search for the right officiant for us, but we both wholeheartedly agree that we found everything we could have hoped for and more...in Re’ut Ben-Zeev.
I have always been passionately moved by Jewish tradition while not particularly religious, and my husband brought very strong visions of what he wanted in our ceremony that were familiar to him. Re’ut took us carefully into her guiding arms and found what traditions spoke to us (and, more importantly, “why” they did). She helped craft a deeply personal ceremony firmly rooted in those traditions that reflected us as individuals and as a couple. She listened, gave insight, offered wonderful suggestions on how to modernize or not, and repeatedly found wonderful possibilities that culminated in a beautifully balanced, perfect ceremony that was uniquely ours. She helped us look at traditions in a new light and was always mindful of making every component feel accessible and inclusive to me and our non-Jewish guests. Re’ut took such thoughtful care in getting to know each of us that by the time we stood before her under our chuppah, we felt we were in the comforting presence of a cherished friend. Highly recommend!
Re’ut is a wonderful, lovely human and a great wedding officiant. When we hired an officiant, we thought they would just show up, marry us, and go home. This was not the case with Re’ut. She spent hours with us on Zoom, explaining Jewish wedding traditions to my non-Jewish fiancé, providing context, and guiding us through the process of customizing a ceremony that really felt like us. The Best Part of Our Wedding

We truly cannot say enough about Cantor Reut. She truly blew us away. We spent multiple sessions with Reut before our wedding that were so so meaningful and helped us better connect with each other. Because of those, on our wedding day, we could just feel the connection between her and us so strongly and that was reflected throughout our whole ceremony -- she really knew us. Cantor Reut made our wedding incredibly special. From the start, she made numerous efforts to get to know us as a couple and to learn about our relationship. She worked with us over a year to customize the ceremony for us ( we are mixed-faith and LGBT). During the process, she also met our families to explain the elements of the ceremony to them. The Cantor also designed with our input a pre-ceremony for the family only that involved a Havdalah service as well as the signing of the Katubah. We could not recommend the Cantor enough - so many friends after the ceremony asked us for her information when it comes time for their weddings. Reut made our ceremony feel so unique and personal that it truly made our wedding day. -

Working With Cantor Re’ut Ben-Zeev
When my husband and I began the journey of searching for our cantor, we were looking for someone who would take a very specific vision we had, and bring it to life. When we found Cantor Re’ut, she executed our vision, nothing short of perfection. We had a complicated vision where we wanted to have our Ketubah service on Friday evening and our ceremony service on Saturday, all at a destination wedding. Without hesitation, Re’ut stepped in and excitedly joined our journey and made our dream wedding come true. Further, she never pushed Judaism on us, but rather helped us understand the beauty of incorporating different Jewish traditions and prayers into our lives or ceremony. As two people that had lost their connection with Judaism with age, she inspired us to reconnect with our religion and heritage. Her patience and empathy as a teacher were genuine, and she found ways to highlight how Judaism already fit into our lives and ceremony, rather than making us fit it in. Her exquisite singing voice, attention to detail, beautiful articulation of our love story, several pre-marital meetings where she learned about us as partners and designed our ceremonies with us, devotion to include all of the important elements we requested, and her preparedness only scratched the surface.
We met Re’ut in a virtual setting and had all of our prior meetings virtually as well. When we were able to finally meet in person, it was as if we were seeing a family member for the first time in a long time. This is how close we grew to Cantor Re’ut. She has a beautiful way of making your story special, sacred, and unique. Simply put, Re’ut is thoughtful, flexible, and deeply caring in her approach when working with a couple. I’ve never worked with someone who is so lovingly committed to their work and where their passion is so evidently palpable. Not only did Re’ut deliver a dream wedding weekend for us where she embraced us as a couple, she also celebrated with our families and filled our wedding weekend with positivity, calm, joy, and love. I could not recommend Re’ut enough. She is a gem and every couple would be honored to work with her. We have deep gratitude for the work, effort, and commitment she poured into our love story. -

Cantor Reut Ben-Zeev is an incredibly special person. The ceremony that she put together for our wedding was more than we could have asked for. We started our journey by having a few meetings where we all learned about each other. Cantor Reut had us fill out a questionnaire about each other which was amazing. It not only helped her when it came to our ceremony, but it really put us on the same page for what we were looking out of life, marriage, and the wedding.
We are an interfaith couple and the best thing that Cantor Reut did for us was help us understand that our special day can represent us and our new traditions. She helped us include the things that mattered and exclude the thing that didnt make sense. She also showed us that we could have a custom Ketubah, that was special to us (my husband is not jewish so it was especially meaningful for him).
Cantor Reut is amazing. She listened to us, educated us, helped us navigate the whole process, and made the day of so incredibly special. Not only was the ceremony that she created beautiful for us as a couple, but I had several guests who specifically commented on how unique and lovely our ceremony was. A true representation of us!
I would recommend Cantor Reut to all couples! Especially those looking for a really personal touch. -

From the first time we spoke with Re'ut, we knew she was the right fit for us. She was thoughtful, warm, positive, and full of love and enthusiasm. She was incredibly open to our ideas for the wedding, and even helped us unearth new components of the ceremony. Every time we mentioned a seed of an idea, she helped us find a way to develop it and make it a reality.
The time we spent with Re'ut felt like having a warm cup of coffee with a friend - we shared our relationship highlights while Re'ut listened. My husband and I often hesitate to think introspectively, but Re'ut helped us reflect on our relationship in such an easy and enjoyable way. She helped us find meaning in this process which helped us create a truly personal and unique ceremony. We were able to verbalize why we were gathering our friends and family to celebrate our marriage. We were simultaneously creating a wedding ceremony and strengthening our bond as a couple.
She created a safe space for us to connect with Judaism and the people who are closest to us (our friends and family). As a team, the three of us put together a ceremony that we were incredibly proud of. Re'ut explained the traditional Jewish components of the ceremony and helped turn them into something even more personal. For example, we called our parents up to say the Blessing of the Children, wrapping us in my husband’s tallit from his Bar Mitzvah. We had seven of our best friends surround us in a circle and recite a blessing they had each written for the Seven Blessings. Re'ut included the female pronoun for hashem and pronounced us man and wife by the power vested in her by Miriam and Moses, because she knew it was important to us to have female representation in our ceremony.
We received such glowing feedback about our ceremony, people said it was unique and truly showcased our love for one another. Re'ut gave us the tools to build a ceremony that was genuinely us, and we are so grateful. If you are a couple with Jewish roots and a desire for spirituality, music and joy, you will be in amazing hands with Re'ut!! -

Cantor For Our Daughter's Bat Mitzvah
Cantor Re'ut was amazing to work with and we could not have been more pleased with our experience and the ceremony itself. The most wonderful officiant -- we were honored to have her
We absolutely loved Reut! She made our ceremony meaningful, moving, and deeply personal. The first thing we noticed is that she really cared about knowing our story and background as a couple. Reut's warm and charming personality made it such a joy for us to share our story with her. We spent hours with her discussing our relationship, our wishes for the ceremony, and our hopes for our future. In the end, Reut combined wedding elements from our Jewish and Chinese background into the ceremony in the most thoughtful way, which was incredibly meaningful and moving for us and our families. In addition, Reut has a beautiful singing voice and we each chose to walk down the aisle to her singing.
There are so many other things that we love about Reut. We can't help but feel that we have gained a friend after working with Reut on our wedding.

Cantor Re'ut – where to even begin! I was raised Catholic, my partner (now husband) was raised Jewish. We were looking for someone to officiate our wedding as well as provide a bit of marriage counseling for an interfaith couple, and through recommendations we found Re'ut. She never shied away from tough questions; even in our initial phone call, really making us think. Throughout preparations for our wedding, she helped us explore our backgrounds, belief structures, and values as individuals and a couple. We had so many thought-provoking conversations that left me pondering for days. I personally loved having this opportunity for new thoughts and discussion that branched far beyond the details of planning a really big party – real life things that promised to go beyond the event itself. As we got closer to the wedding, Re'ut remained detail-oriented, noted all of our minutiae and family histories, and all the ways our roots were intertwined into our ceremony. She helped us to create a service that was representative of both of our faiths, families, and future together. She is (surprise!) a FANTASTIC vocalist, and while giving a truly heartfelt testament to our relationship in the ceremony, sang various blessings that wowed everyone! We received so many compliments on our ceremony; people were totally moved, thought it was truly genuine and fresh, and felt they were a part of our story – this is exactly what we wanted, and the reason we chose to be married in front of allllll of our many guests. Re'ut guided us the whole way, and made our beautiful day possible. We will always hope to remain friends with this wonderful woman as we venture forward into this life together as a married couple. -

Working with Re'ut was an absolute pleasure. My (now) wife and I are both reform Jewish, and were hoping to have our wedding be a chance for us to explore our Jewish roots and experience this tradition that would help us remember so many of our ancestors. To this end, Cantor Re'ut was invaluable. We met up with her several times prior to the event in order to not only discuss the details of the ceremony, but also to discuss our Jewish heritage, our feelings about Judiasm, and how can we bring more faith into our everyday lives. Through our conversations with her, we were inspired to be more active in our faith and in our religious community. Throughout the entire experience, Re'ut was extremely responsive, flexible, and accommodating. Not once did we feel that she did not have our best interest at heart. Talking with her was fun, enlightening, and a joy.
Our ceremony was incredible and beautifully incorporated the Jewish values we hold so dear. Cantor Re'ut's voice is INCREDIBLE and was an amazing part of the ceremony - we have been to other Jewish weddings and this is the first time we have heard a voice so beautiful - it really brought another element into the ceremony that elevated it.
Overall, we would highly recommend working with Re'ut. Thank you! -

Prior to meeting Re'ut, my husband Yvan and I struggled immensely on how to plan our ceremony. We are interfaith, yet neither of us is particularly religious. My family is Jewish, while he was raised Catholic in Venezuela. Re'ut immediately made us feel comfortable and provided all of the support and guidance we needed while helping us shape a ceremony that would be honest and welcoming to our guests. She really took the time to get to know us as people, and created such a heartfelt, personal, and funny ceremony that everyone was floored by, and there was not a dry eye there. Her voice is incredible! My guests are still giving rave reviews about her ceremony!! We would recommend her wholeheartedly, and are happy to now call Re'ut a friend.

Her beautiful voice and spirit infused our ceremony with richness and soul.
Re'ut was the cantorial soloist at our synagogue in 2011 when we began to plan our wedding for the following March, and we had also heard her sing a recital. Her beautiful voice and radiant spirit made the decision to ask her to co-officiate with our rabbi an easy one for us. We enjoyed collaborating with Re’ut in choosing the liturgy and music for the ceremony. She offered suggestions such as beginning with a chant-like setting of "Dodi li." My then husband-to-be, Ira, is a musician and arranged two Bernstein songs for the occasion -- "Make Our Garden Grow" from Candide, and “Build My House” from Peter Pan -- which she not only sang exquisitely (accompanied by a close friend playing keyboard) but with deep feeling.
This was clearly not just a “gig” for Re’ut. Adding much more to our wedding ceremony than her amazing voice, she infused it with richness, spirituality, and soul. Looking back on that day, it was one of the rare times when intention and planning result in something close to perfection, which in no small part was because of Re’ut, for which we are very grateful.

We were very happy with Re'ut. She made us feel comfortable, walked us through the entire process, and never rushed. She customized the ceremony to our event timeline and our desires for what would be included and omitted. She handled filing the wedding license related paperwork after the event. She made the process easy for us, and helped us to have a personalized, meaningful experience together. Her honorarium (fee) was standard for the region. You can trust her to officiate your special day. If you have any concerns about a woman versus a man to officiate your event, let that go, she did a great job for us and will for you as well.
