You know how everyone always says "nobody remembers the food at weddings"? That was not the case with Cannon Catering. Everyone remembered the food at our wedding. Our guests talked about how great the food was well after the wedding day. Just thinking about their mushroom puffs, mashed potatoes and chicken, I can taste it. Cannon was fantastic. Letting us do drop-and-chill with our beer/wine was a game changer. They had a big plate of food waiting for us at our table and were on top of it when it came to drinks. Not only that but their people were fantastic. Everybody loved the bartender. He was a fan favorite. We heard over and over again how much fun he was, how he got into conversations with guests. Canon made our day so special. Highly highly highly recommend.

Cannon Catering did a fantastic job with our wedding meal, which was served as a buffet. The food was absolutely delicious, and we received so many compliments from our guests on everything. They were also very accommodating, even making special arrangements for a guest with an onion allergy, which we really appreciated. Cannon Catering rocks!! Look no further for professionals to handle your event. They catered our Chapel Hill wedding and made the entire process stress free.
From the beginning, they responded quickly and had super clear pricing. We wanted a gluten free dinner (for celiac) and they were knowledgable and reassuring that it would be easy to pick GF options from their menu or make a few small swaps. The tasting was super fun and we felt like we had lots of good entree and appetizer options. During the tasting, staff were helpful, kind, and never trying to upsell or add services. They worked to understand our audience and vision for the event and lend their expertise.
The week of the wedding we used their alcohol drop service to hand off and chill down the beer and wine. This was the best service we didn't realize we needed when we started planning. The drop off saved us from moving around lots of heavy cases the day of and ensured things were ready to go for dinner!
At the event, we had a bartender from Cannon who was absolutely the sweetest. Many of our guests commented on her incredible service. We had a plated dinner late in the evening that Cannon served flawlessly -- keeping the pace of things rolling. We had a few vegan/vegetarian guests and they were served separate meals without any hassle. It felt like the team really listened to everything we wanted and made pro decisions regarding everything we didn't care about, freeing us from worry!

We couldn’t be happier with Cannon Catering and the role they played in making our wedding day so special! We chose to serve heavy hors d’oeuvres instead of a full meal, and Cannon nailed it. They even provided passed hors d’oeuvres, which gave the reception the social, casual party vibe we were going for. Our guests loved the taste of the food, and the mix of options ensured there was something for everyone.
Pre-wedding planning was a breeze. We especially loved the tasting meeting—it was so fun to sample the delicious options, and there were plenty of choices to suit both of our tastes. Everything was very reasonably priced, and their flexibility and professionalism made us feel confident we were in good hands. Some of our favorites were the strawberry lemonade, spinach & feta spanakopita, Texas BBQ pulled pork sliders, shrimp & grits shooters, chicken and waffles, and mashed potatoes with French garlic farmhouse chicken bites. They made everything so easy!
One of the best parts was their ‘drop and chill’ service, which allowed us to bring our own alcohol a few days before the wedding. They provided our bartender and cups, which kept beer cans out of our photos—something we hadn’t even thought about but were so thankful for! Cannon also handled everything for the cake and provided all the staff we needed to keep things running smoothly. They even cleaned up quickly and efficiently at the end of the night.
If you want a caterer who truly thinks of everything and delivers incredible service and food, we highly recommend Cannon Catering. We would absolutely choose them again!

The Cannon team was amazing from the very first interaction, all the way through the wedding. The team is on top of it with communication, transparency and the FOOD is AMAZING. Our guests are still talking about it more than a week later. Seriously- it was that GOOD. We reviewed/tasted more than 12 catering companies in the Raleigh area, and these guys have it down. Cannon was so wonderful to work with! We had them cater our wedding, and they were very communicative leading up to the day, and on the day of, they were professional and very attentive. They brought our wedding party a plate of hors d'oeuvres while we were doing photos during cocktail hour, and brought my husband and I a plate of food as soon as the buffet line opened up at dinner. My husband and I also really liked that they’re a smaller, family-based business. Cannon Catering was fantastic! We had them provide food for our January wedding. Starting out, our experience with them was wonderful. We loved our tasting and they were so accommodating to our preferences and dietary needs! After we booked them, they were so quick to respond to emails and provide information about anything we needed! Once the wedding came, the food was even better than I remembered! Our guests were raving over the stuffed mushroom appetizers and the shrimp scampi entree was a crowd pleaser as well. We added a hot beverage bar and mini desserts to go along with our main dinner service and I am so glad we did! It really added something special to our wedding for minimal additional cost. I really appreciated the transparent pricing and the affordable cost. We even got to take home leftovers and enjoy them after the wedding! Overall, great service & delicious food. Would 100% recommend for any wedding or event catering needs!

We hired Cannon Catering for our wedding and were very satisfied! We had so many compliments on our appetizers and meal. For our appetizers, we chose shrimp&grits, stuffed mushrooms, and a ham biscuit and they were all so, so good. I could have easily eat so many of each! For our entree, we decided on a chicken and beef tips. Both were great, but the beef tips were *chefs kiss*. They were very flexible with some allergies and dietary restrictions that some of our guests had. They were very easy to work with during the planning process which is huge because I never stressed one time about our food. I highly recommend Cannon Catering for your catering needs.

We were a COVID wedding and had to move our wedding an entire year. Kelly was so sweet to work with and moved our date with no issue. The tasting was incredible, I left so full! We used Cannon Catering for our November 2020 wedding and we have nothing but rave reviews about the quality of food and their service! To begin with, the tasting was very professional and left my husband, my parents, and I stuffed to the brim with delicious food. They left no stone unturned when it came to making sure we were welcome and knew what our food would taste like. For our wedding, we had their "low country fare" buffet menu which again was amazing! As we decided to go through with our wedding during COVID times, they did a wonderful job of adapting their service to ensure the safety for our guests as well as their employees. They came with a plan for the passed h'orderves and modified their buffet service appropriately. As for the actual food, it was SO delicious and all of our guests raved about how good it was! A number of guests even asked for their name and information! Particularly, their mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes are to die for! Throughout the entire planning process (which was over a year and a half long), Kelly and Beth was super responsive to my emails and ready to answer any questions my planner or I had. We hired Cannon Catering on the recommendation of our wedding planner and they were spectacular. They incorporated two family recipes into our meal that they made in advance for us to taste and approve and they were fantastic. Communication with them was great as our wedding day approached. Day of was seamless as far as I could tell. Their catering staff were polite and almost invisible while providing food and beverages for all of our guests. The food at our wedding was great. After the wedding, many family members talked about how much they enjoyed it. We had a buffet-style food arrangement, so everyone was able to enjoy as much as they wanted and go back for more if they desired. Kelly was great to work with throughout the process and was very responsive to emails when we had questions or concerns about the menu and for our rental of China. My husband and I were able to sit down during our wedding and eat without being disturbed due to Cannon preparing our plates and making sure that every dish was on the plate. The pricing was very competitive (and most important for me, it was very clear, precise and inclusive....no hidden costs), the food was outstanding, flexibility across the board and in particular with the "You buy, we chill/bring/serve" is creative if not unique and fit our needs perfectly. I had dinner with friends after our wedding and they were saying Cannon had even put out hot apple cider at my S’mores table outside by the fire pit, which I did not know was even included!!! They truly went above and beyond!!!! I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us...but I will be writing reviews on every platform I can, praising Cannon's name!! Future BRIDES - hire them, NOW!!!!

Cannon Catering is such a pleasure to work with, from the moment we first contacted them to the day of our wedding they have been amazing. It’s nearly been a month after my wedding day and my guests are still commenting about how great the food and service was. I even had a guest at the end of the night express how thankful she was for our caterer who made her feel at ease and asked her if she needed them to make her anything specific after she mentioned to them that she had brought her own food due to dietary restrictions. I had another guest express that he asked for seconds towards the end of the reception and the food was still hot! Overall, I can’t recommend Cannon Catering enough. I’m extremely thankful we chose them to cater our wedding.

Cannon was so hospitable throughout our planning process and we knew after meeting with Kelly that we wanted to work with Cannon! Kelly made sure that everything was perfect for our wedding and we got so many compliments on how delicious the appetizers were. We appreciated how accommodating Kelly was of our guest with different dietary needs and didn't bat an eye when we asked about it. Cannon Catering did such an amazing job catering our wedding and bartending it as well! They were able to create the perfect Gluten Free menu for us as I have a Gluten allergy. "The Food Was Bomb" said every guest
If you don't have good food at your wedding, you've failed. Everyone and I mean everyone loved the food. Weeks later they are still talking about it - and the fact that they didn't have to choose between the two types of chicken, THEY COULD HAVE BOTH! We decided on a buffet with a plated salad and it was all flawless. The Cannon team did an awesome job with the food and bartending services. Our package also came with a comp cocktail hour as well.

So easy to work with and Great communication! Kelly was the EASIEST vendor that I worked with. I really enjoyed tasting the food and meeting Kelly and her staff. When we went to the tasting, my mom and sister decided to come last minute and she even gave them food to try (I didn't mention they were coming to the tasting.) She treated us all with open arms. She was very professional and laidback at the same time. We decided to get full service and it was worth the money. Everyone enjoyed the Hors D'Oeuvres and the dinner. Thanks for helping me on my big day and making it less stressful! :)

Cannon catering catered my wedding at River Ridge in August. They were absolutely amazing!! We went to two complementary private tastings prior to our wedding day. Kelly was so responsive to all of our emails and questions. We had so many last minute changes and they were so nice and helpful with assisting us with those changes. On the wedding day, they set up and cleaned up everything. The food was amazing! We got so many compliments from our guests. They even saved the bridal party some food from cocktail hour. When it was time to eat they brought the bride and groom plates to their table to ensure that we were able to eat. The staff is so friendly and professional. I couldn’t have asked for a better catering experience. I highly recommend Cannon Catering!! They have menu options to fit your budget as well as great food and staff!

We were recommended cannon catering by our venue and let me tell you they went beyond and above for our wedding on May 5,2018. We received so many complements on how good the appetizers and dinner was. Especially the mushroom caps! Kelly answers any small questions you have and even provided the stands for us to use as cupcakes holders along with a stand for our cheesecake that we used as our wedding cake .The shrimp and grits were a hit and our friends and family definitely went back for seconds . We use Cannon for an annual corporate Thanksgiving event. Always delicious. This year we changed things up and opted for a Christmas/Holiday event. Kelly was extremely responsive and the flexibility and menu suggestions made my life easy. The delivery and serving staff were so professional. We have had amazing feedback from our attendees, so much so that they want us to keep the Holiday event going in the future. The chicken marsala and golden mashed potatoes were fan favorites and are highly recommended. We will use Cannon over and over! Whether for a wedding or a corporate event or other catered needs, they are worth every penny.

My daughter and I sat down at a walkthrough with our vendors a couple of weeks before the wedding date. You have all of the big, general things figured out well before this point, but a switch gets flipped about a month before the occasion, and all of the minute details suddenly are clamoring for your attention. We were expecting to leave our walk through with more details to iron out, having uncovered additional questions from each vendor. Kelly from Cannon Catering had no intention of allowing us to feel that way. She had all of the answers, rather than questions for us. Even this close to the event date she worked with us on changes in the menu (we had stations), and made suggestions to compliment them. She worked effortlessly with our wedding planner and the venue to nail down the flow of the reception. Her very calm demeanor and professional experience was very reassuring. At the reception, Jon and his crew were so accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. As a host of the event, I had no worries, no stress, and I really enjoyed the party! Cannon Catering was amazing!!! They catered our wedding reception at Cross and Main in September. We had so many compliments on the food, especially the stuffed chorizo mushrooms! Everyone was asking for the leftovers, but we didn't want to share!! Kelly worked with us to make a custom menu for stations that incorporated four of the countries my husband and I have been to together. The whole wedding was centered around adventures together and Kelly was right there with us planning the best food from those areas! It was affordable and a fantastic value! The only thing I would suggest for future couples is to do passed hor d'oeuvres during cocktail hour as we did a station and the food ran out before the wedding party arrived. I am a wedding planner for Paisley and Pearl Events, which means I have had the chance to taste many of the caterers in the area and Cannon Catering is the best for taste and value! Highly recommend Cannon Catering!!

Cannon Catering was great to work with. I corresponded mostly with Kelly and she was so friendly and helpful. Last minute changes were no problem, which is so nice when last minute changes are already stressful enough. Susan ran our event and she did an excellent job. The staff was great and the food was absolutely delicious. We ate left overs for 2 days after the wedding. The mac n cheese is even good cold! Everyone told me I wouldn't even get to taste the food at my wedding, but feast we did, they made sure of it! We had a fully stocked bar that the bartender kept rolling until the very end. They even managed to keep guests happy when we ran out of hard liquor (FYI buy a lot of liquor that's what the people want we had 2 cases of wine leftover!). Thanks so much for helping our wedding turn out so amazing.

Our wedding was 4/30/16. I cannot say enough good things about Cannon! Communication was excellent, price was fair, work was impeccable, display was amazing, staff was wonderful. So with never planned an event like this before, wasn't sure what to expect really; photos on a website can be misleading, however, everything was amazing. The cocktail hour before hand was superb, made us feel so fancy really having staff go around with silver trays and their staff could hardly complete a trip, once folks had a taste of the items. The fresh fruit display was so beautiful, I almost didn't want to touch it, wish I had taken more pictures of the food truly now. The best part was how accommodating they were with our mild food allergies! I wish we could use them for every meal, not just events!!

This is a family owned business based out of Wake Forest, North Carolina. We are using them for our rehearsal dinner. Our event is on a future date but the preliminaries have been wonderful. We met with them and they gave us a tasting of what I must say, quite delicious food. The price is very reasonable and the staff is extremely personable. Kelly is wonderful and attentive. There are no hidden fees or extra cost. They are straight with you. I'm looking forward to my event with them but the experience so far has been awesome.
Okay, my event was on 6/10/2016. The caterer arrived on time, set up was professional, elaborate and beautiful. The food was very good, presentation was marvelous and the attendant was fantastic. Overall, the evening was one to remember.

Kelly at Cannon Catering was excellent to work with! Kelly and her team were incredibly accommodating. Going into the vendor choosing process we were very worried about being nickel and dimed for everything but Cannon Catering does not do that! There were a number of little changes we made to the menu (ex: soda instead of sweet tea, extra flavors for the ice cream float bar, etc) and we always expected there to be an extra cost but there wasn't! They were incredibly responsive during the planning process and always answered my emails quickly and in a friendly way. They did not get annoyed at my constant questions! The only concerns I had during the planning process were two things: first, they had our date wrong until about 3 months before the wedding and second, a week before the wedding they called to confirm the menu and had pretty much every single item wrong, they hadn't updated the menu from our emails with the final choices. Both situations were dealt with IMMEDIATELY with apologies and good grace and cheer from Kelly. I took off half a star for that because they did cause mini heart attacks for me but they were handled really really well so it was pretty much a non-issue. Come the day of they were on time, unobtrusive but incredibly helpful, the food was REALLY REALLY GOOD (all our guests LOVED all the food), flexible and very very friendly. I could not imagine having gone with another catering company and highly recommend them.

I highly recommend this caterer. I got rave reviews on the food by the guests. The display looked beautiful, and the staff was very helpful prior to the event. The staff dressed professionally, and was on time, and attentive during the reception. For a small extra fee they provided a bartender. We used Cannon for a rehearsal dinner. Planning with owners was seamless. They were very responsive. They were on time with all meet-ups. Jon went above an beyond expectations by picking up a bit more wine/beer at the store for us since we added a few guests. On the night of the event, the team was found setting up on time and well prepared with the food and service. After the dinner, they even took all of my charger plates and cleaned them before returning them to me! Each person was very professional towards the guests and the clean up was also seamless. I would recommend this fantastic group to anyone planning an event.

Cannon Catering did a wonderful job providing for our wedding. Everything tasted fresh and was warm when it was served. The staff were friendly and helpful toward us and our guests. I do wish that we were given all of the leftovers and our cake (we were given a half of the cake and the tiny top tier but it was a 4 layer cake) as we had discussed at our first meeting, and there was some miscommunication regarding the serving of beverages. We also did not know the salad was a buffet style. Overall we were very happy with how the food turned out.

I had butlered hors d'oeuvres, plated salads, a buffet dinner, and dessert table for 65 people at my wedding. Throughout the planning process, Kelly was great at answering our questions and was very flexible when our numbers were a lot lower than initially estimated. There was some confusion when I was emailed an invoice due upon receipt about 2 weeks before the wedding, but when I called the staff explained that it was auto-generated when they put our menu into their bookkeeping system. We took advantage of the$50 "you buy, we chill" service and saved a bunch of money by buying our own beer, wine, and soda. The staff was polite and professional on the wedding day, and all our guests commented on how good the food was. We saved some additional money by using their disposable plates which were much higher quality than I had expected.
My only complaint were that the number of hors d'oeuvres pieces seemed a little low and a few guests didn't get any at all.

Cannon's did a beautiful job of catering our daughter's wedding reception. They provided a delicious buffet that worked within our budget. The staff is very professional and did an excellent job of serving the night of the reception. From butlered appetizers, to salads, to a scrumptious buffet, the food was great! The staff were very efficient and were always on hand to help in anyway. The owners, Kelly and Susan, are very helpful and easy to work with and helped to make our wedding perfect!

We were a difficult client to have; we wanted a regional, Peruvian - Costa Rican, menu of heavy hors d'oeuvers for our wedding and we really insisted in all items tasting as our families were expecting. Cannon did it and with flying colors! They were flexible, listen to our requested, adapted to provide what we wanted, arrived on time, presented the food well, and fed all our guests constantly for hours. Excellent service!

The food was delicious!! I didn't have to worry about the set-up because everything was included in the price!! Loved working with them since they were able to give me other vendors to use as well!!

Make sure you ask for large plates. Our event had saucer size plastic plates which were not big enough to hold two tablespoons of food. Most people had to take two plates and even then could not get enough food to eat. Many people had their food slip off the plate to the floor because the tiny plate was slippery. We had so many complaints about the plates and that it was embarrassing. The food line became an hour wait because of these tiny plates. The appetizers were set up on on a table after the meal and should have been set out early and in a separate place. All this combined caused the whole evening's schedule to be late and people were mad because the band hardly had time to play. Cannon's food was good. Large napkins needed.
Chintzy plates ruined appreciation for the food.

First of all, I made an appointment to meet with Cannon and on the day we scheduled they were not present. They had been under the impression that it was scheduled for a different date. That should have warned me to begin with.
Secondly, it was very difficult to get responses from them when I sent emails. Usually when I got responses they were very short which would lead to more questions and another two weeks to get responses.
Thirdly, they executed the cake cutting for us but created all different sizes which seemed unnecessary.
The fourth and final issue I had was the lack of communication. Even when I had believed that my efforts to effectively communicate what was needed they still seemed to get misunderstandings.
Overall, I was unhappy with the service but I guess it could have been worse.
