I planned an out of town wedding and Ellen was such a joy to work with over the phone. She designed the PERFECT cake!!! I sent her a few photos and my stationary and was so so impressed by how she made the design of the cake fit into my wedding perfectly and it was gorgeous. She also was so accommodating with helping us with our out of town tasting. She also made a gluten free topper and anniversary cake for me!!! The cake was delicious!!!!

We needed a cake with both a gluten free layer. Ellen was able to do our top tier gluten free and keep the layer completely separate from the rest of the cake to avoid cross-contamination. Both the GF red velvet and regular red velvet (both with cream cheese frosting) received rave reviews from our guests. Best gluten free cake I have had! Oh and the cake was gorgeous to boot - we used one of her simply CTR designs and had our florist add a few flowers as well.

Ellen is a true professional and a master baker!! It was an absolute pleasure to work with her! She accommodated our schedule (I was helping my daughter plan her wedding from the DC area) in meeting her at her shop and executed our vision flawlessly! Her cakes are not just visually beautiful but truly delicious (equally important to us). We chose the Lemon Satin, which was fresh, bright, and moist. So many people complimented us on the cake! We made sure the cake was large enough to allow for an anniversary tier to be savored next year! We let Ellen know she would be our choice for all family celebration cakes in the future. We most highly recommend Ellen and Cakes to Remember!!

AMAZING cake! It tasted great, it looked even better! Ellen was able to use a design that I found on Pinterest and replicate it perfectly. She even added a few GF cupcakes for my GF guests!

This was one vendor my now husband was exited about going to try. We had been to a few other tastings and never had a "wow this cake is delicious" moment, and we were beginning to think that maybe that is just how it is with wedding cake. That changed when we found CTR, the cake flavors were delicious! We did 2, the chocolate caramel fudge and the strawberry chiffon and both were incredible. The cake looked as good as it tasted too! We got some large sugar flowers that were beautiful. I highly recommend CTR!

We had a terrific experience working with Ellen and the Cakes to Remember team! Everything was extremely easy on our end, which was such a treat among all the other wedding planning activities and decisions. We had a lot of fun tasting four delicious samples (we got to bring them home which was nice to be able to enjoy them at our leisure), and the classic wedding white we chose for the day of was unbelievable. Several of our guests commented that it was the best wedding cake they've ever had, and one guest even told us she was stealing leftovers off other tables! Cakes to Remember was a fantastic vendor, and we highly recommend their services!

Amazingly delicious cake, and Ellen is lovely to work with! My husband and I had done many cake tastings before visiting Ellen at Cake's to Remember, and after just 1 bite of her strawberry orange blossom cake, we knew we had found our wedding cake. Absolutely delicious flavors, beautifully designed cake, and we were able to get a gluten free cake in addition to the main tiered cake which was very helpful. I really appreciated that I was able to serve the same flavors to all of our guests, and both types of cake were equally delicious! Ellen and her team were very professional, helpful, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. I can't wait for my next birthday so I can get some more of her cake!

Working with Ellen was amazing from the very beginning. She totally got our style and made a cake that screamed "us" - it was a gorgeous classic 4-tier cake decorated with sugar orchids of various shades of purple. But aside from the looks, it was also extremely delicious! We opted for 2 flavors - strawberry/orange and blueberry/lemon. They were to die for! We can't wait to have it again for our first anniversary. Cakes to Remember makes very tasty cakes and provides outstanding service. Their cakes are truly the ones to remember!

Our wedding cake was absolutely delicious and beautiful! My husband cannot eat gluten so we searched for a bakery that could provide a gluten-free option for the two of us and "regular" cake for the rest of our guests. Ellen does not just offer gluten-free cake - she takes pride in making GF cake that is just as good as "regular" cake! My husband was thrilled that he would be able to fully enjoy our wedding cake. (We did the the top tier GF and the remaining tiers as "regular" cake.) Ellen was an absolute pleasure to work with. For example, when I asked whether she thought a particular cake topper would work, she took the time to sketch out how it would look on the cake design I had chosen.

My cake from Cakes to Remember was included in my wedding package from the Fairmont Copley Plaza. While I couldn't choose the vendor, I couldn't have been happier. The cake was beautiful, with cascading roses that perfectly matched the cake topper I provided to Ellen a week before the wedding. It was also delicious! We chose a traditional white cake with raspberry, and received many compliments from guests. Ellen was a pleasure to work with. We live abroad so we ate our anniversary tier as a final celebration with my parents a fews after the wedding before we left for our honeymoon, and it was just as good the second time!

AMAZING CAKE!!! Next to the food served at our reception, our guests LOVED the cake. It was absolutely divine with the flavors very well balanced and the frosting was perfect. The team at Cakes to Remember did an amazing job. Our top layer didn't survive our first year of marriage, as we consumed it the day after the wedding. It was that good.

Our tasting was also fun and delicious.

Wonderful professional organization. Asked for a Norwegian wedding cake and they supplied a beauty. relatives were very impressed. Highly recommended. Easy to communicate with and always in the loop.

Ellen is the perfect combination of a professional cake artist and a terrific, easy going person to work with. She accomodated our particular color requests for one of her “Simple CTR” cakes, and the result was absolutely beautiful--not to mention DELICIOUS! A number of our guests complimented the cake’s design, and many said it was the best tasting wedding cake they’d ever had. Ellen was very easy to get in touch with throughout the process, and she is incredibly easy to work with. The pricing was on par with other cake designers in the area, and the “Simply CTR” cake designs are an incredibly affordable option without sacrificing interesting design and taste. It is no surprise that Cakes to Remember is often on the Best of Boston vendors lists.

We hired Ellen at Cakes to Remember to create our wedding cake and a surprise grooms cake. Ellen was creative and very easy to work with. During our initial meeting she translated our ideas into a beautiful four tier design. We chose an ivory buttercream cake with two flavors, carrot and classic wedding. Ellen also designed a Bruins themed chocolate grooms cake with two sculpted players fighting on a hockey puck. Both cakes were beautiful and exceeded our expectations! All three flavors were delicious and the carrot cake was especially amazing!

I worked with Ellen from Cakes to Remember to design my cake. She was so patient and worked with me to design exactly what I was looking for. The cake looked exactly as I imagined. It was perfect! Not only that but the cake tasted DELICIOUS. I am a huge cake/frosting fan- and the salted caramel filling was divine. I heard from numerous people how delicious the cake was, so not only beautiful but also tasty! I was impressed. (This was included in my wedding package with the venue.)

Ellen Bartlett is an artist. She met with us, came up with a sketch and design, we tasted flavors, and she put everything together in a beautiful personalized wedding cake, with broken cascades of coral peonies down the three layers to match the bouquets. It was delicious, a strawberry lemon filling and buttercream icing. So yummy and A beautiful finish to our reception meal.

Ellen makes delicious and gorgeous cakes. She also has a range of options in terms of cost and complexity. We wanted a simple, elegant, tasty, reasonably priced cake, and she gave us that. She deserves the awards she's won! The cake was by far the easiest part of the wedding planning process.

Ellen Bartlett of Cakes to Remember is Fabulous!! She is creative, passionate and makes amazing cake. It is not only beautiful, but tastes divine. Guests raved about both the beauty flavors - I can't imagine hiring anyone else. She even met our crazy request to hide a little surprise figure under the top tier (a request of my beloved), and she custom sketched the cake design just for us.

We also had little ones attending our wedding and needed nut-free cupcakes and she delivered perfectly. We are so happy with her and would recommend her to everyone. I can't wait for out future celebrations as husband and wife to call upon her expertise again, or the anniversary layer that we may need to dig into prior to the anniversary because it's just that good! : )

Incredible wedding cake! We met Ellen with some pictures and ideas for our cake, she took the time to get to know our wedding and helped us figure out the best style for our theme. The cake was exactly what we ordered and absolutely beautiful! It tasted great too!

Hands down the best wedding cake I have ever ever had. Cakes to Remember supplied the cake for our wedding at the Hampshire House and we were so very happy with it! There is no generic sugar sweet taste, the flavors are sophisticated and perfectly paired.

My groom and I wanted a very simple cake, and thought that the flavor and taste of the cake was more important than how it appeared. Cakes to Remember definitely delivered on both fronts, though. They offered a variety of flavors and combinations that were very fragrant and yet classic. We ended up getting a cake with different flavors on each layer. They piped beautiful scrollwork on the Tahitian vanilla buttercream frosting, and accented it with dragees without making it garish. I think flowers really have got to be their specialty; when I visited the shop they had beautiful sugar flowers there, and our cake had beautiful pink roses done in frosting on the top. It looked splendid, and they also gave us a separate smaller anniversary cake to eat!

We had our wedding reception at the Hampshire House in Boston and as part of their wedding package, they include the cake – which just so happens to be a cake from Cakes to Remember… and all I have to say is ‘boy do they make good cakes!’
We chose the Chocolate Kir Royale cake; a chocolatey devils food cake filled with a rich dark chocolate raspberry filling and frosted with Chambord champagne buttercream! The next morning, my sister was raving about the special dessert we served at the reception and asked what happened to our wedding cake we cut - - the cake was so good that she thought we served something other than a traditional wedding cake! Cakes to Remember did a fantastic job and I’ll certainly keep them in mind when I need a cake for our next celebration!

Ellen's cake for our wedding was incredible--simple and elegant and very delicious. A number of people from our wedding commented on it, which I considered amazing, because I have been to a lot of weddings and never even remembered the cake. She worked with our florist to get fresh flowers on the cake, and I never had do a thing. The best thing I can say--and this, to me, is huge--is that Ellen took care of everything. Ellen and the team at Cakes to Remember were wonderful. Not only was the cake the best wedding cake we have ever had (and guests agree unanimously), but Ellen found a way to create our perfect cake that integrated the bright colors of our wedding while keeping it elegant. She also switched up the design perfectly when our guest count changed 3 weeks before the wedding. If we had to do it all over again, she would be the first person we called.

Ellen is fabulous, we highly, highly recommend her. She is professional, highly competent, a pleasure to work with and a very, very talented cake artist. We tried several cake places before choosing her, at all price ranges, and we were confident that choosing Ellen was the absolute best decision. It came down to taste, although the entire process working with her was great too. Ellen took the time to sit with us and talk about the look and feel of our wedding, got to know what we liked, showed us cake photos and took careful notes to make sure she knew what we wanted, gave us cake samples to try... the whole process was thorough and easy, and we got the perfect wedding cake as a result. Our guests all commented that in addition to looking gorgeous, our cake tasted so, so good. This was the sweet sendoff that topped off a wonderful party, that first bite of chocolate raspberry deliciousness after a few hours of dancing and we just looked at each other and started smiling. Thank goodness we chose Ellen. Our guests will not soon forget our delicious cake, and neither will we. Can't wait for our one year anniversary... our top tier is in the freezer waiting for us. :) THANK YOU ELLEN!!!

Ellen did an amazing job on our cakes! Our groom's cake blew everyone away. They couldn't believe it was a cake at all! The inside was red velvet and it was delicious!

Our wedding was equally breathtaking. The buttercream was perfectly smooth, like the finish one would expect from fondant. The sugar flowers were gorgeous! And most importantly, it tasted amazing!

If I have ever another reason to buy a special event cake, I'll be getting it from Cakes To Remember.

Cakes to Remember does a beautiful job. We had their chocolate cake with raspberry filling and had them substitute strawberry (my husband hates raspberries.) They had no problem with the modification and the cake looked beautiful and tasted even better. It really was one of the best wedding cakes I have ever eaten (so often they look beautiful and taste like styrofoam with sugar...) I highly recommend this bakery.

Ellen is such an artist! (and she makes her *own* fondant, which if anyone knows anything about cake baking, you know that's a skill that is highly desirable) We went in not knowing what to expect in choosing a cake, but she really listened to our ideas and noted our color scheme, our tastes, the kind of flowers we wanted (none of our details were even really worked out at this point). When our details finally came together we sent related images to her -- we were hoping to achieve something along the lines of Talavera tilework for our cake -- and were totally unprepared for what we received --> a sketch of our cake (with color suggestions) that blew our minds! Still, we had decided to go with buttercream frosting, so we were a little nervous to see how it would actually turn out. Honestly, I can't even explain sufficiently how amazing the cake looked - and moreover, how good it was! Konditor Meister-schmeister -- Ellen Bartlett is the best!

Ellen made our cakes for the Rehearsal Dinner (Groom's Cake) & for the wedding and they were both AMAZING. They were so beautiful and our guests said our wedding cake was the best cake they've ever had. The Groom's Cake for the Rehearsal Dinner was truly a work of art. Highly recommend Cakes to Remember!!!

Ellen was spectacular to work with. She understood that we wanted a grand and elegant cake, while keeping the design simple. I'm still getting compliments on the design and TASTE of the cake. Both my husband and I are carrot cake lovers and have tasted many types of carrot cake recipes. Ellen's is by far the best. We can't wait for our one year anniversary to eat the cake once more!

This was the easiest part of my wedding planning. We met with Ellen once, figured out what we wanted for a cake and she took care of the rest. She worked with the Copley and our florist to get everything perfect. So many people commented on our cake, and we absolutely loved it. One of the best parts was the tasting, all of her cakes are amazing, we had the hardest time deciding, but we went with the classic wedding white with a raspberry filling, it was so good!!

I loved, loved, loved my cake. It was beautiful and tasted as good as it looked. Designing the cake with Ellen was one of the highlights of the planning process. They also made incredible custom cookie favors for us.

Ellen and the Cakes to Remember team were fantastic! Multiple guests, including friends and family who are professional caterers, said our cake was among the best they'd ever had. We chose a Simply CTR Tiered Cake which was very affordable but still beautiful and, of course, delicious. Ellen was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. In fact, with less than a week until the wedding, I realized that I had given her the wrong design number and asked to switch, and she took it in stride. We were absolutely thrilled with the cake and cannot recommend CTR highly enough.

Ellen is easy to work with and very professional. You may have to call a couple of times to get her on the phone, but it's worth it. The cake was delicious (we received several compliments--people ate it for breakfast the next morning), and looked even better! Also, we had a 225 person wedding and she was totally helpful in providing the appropriate size for the cake knowing that we were serving other desserts.

One word - AMAZING!The cake looked fantastic and really matched our whole theme very well! We chose three different flavors and the biggest problem was figuring out which one was our favorite! It may be the carrot cake! Our guests cannot stop raving about it,and I could not have had a better cake!

Ellen at Cakes to Remember was fabulous. We had a very good idea of what we wanted when we got to our appointment with her. It was quick and painless. I especially liked the way she had us do the tasting at home rather then at the bakery with her. It was very comfortable and she was more then accomodating. We liked her so much we had her make us a anniversary cake for some friends and family as well!

Our wedding cake was from cakes to remember. It was part of our package at the Fairmont Copley. We set up a meeting with the bakery and myself, my mom and fiance attended. It was not really communicated to me what this meeting was for, I think it was more a this is what we can do, what are you thinking, introductory meeting and it was really a meeting to decide the details of the cake and to take the cake tasting home from the selections we had made online. At that point I had not really thought about what I wanted for a cake so we were at the meeting longer then intended I think trying to put a cake idea together. I liked what we came up with at the end of the day. The tasting was amazing. I usually don't love wedding cake as its over done and too sugar but our choices were amazing and everyone at the wedding loved it - can't wait to have the cake topper in a year! My only issue was that I thought the cake was not as whoa as I had hoped and thought we discussed. Given we were getting married at the fairmont I thought the flower accents etc would be bigger and more voluptuous but I felt it looked a little plain and for a barn wedding. I highly recommend knowing what you want and being as specific as possible.

We booked the Fairmont Copley Plaza for our wedding venue and the package includes a wedding cake from Cakes to Remember! I was so excited as I heard their cakes look beautiful and taste delicious. Ellen was so helpful at our cake consultation, making sure our design of the cake went along with our wedding theme/colors. After trying many of the cake flavors, we settled on two flavors to fluctuate upon each layer of cake. When I saw the cake setup at our wedding reception, I was so excited and amazed at how beautiful the cake was. I continued to hear rave reviews from our wedding guests on the cake throughout the entire evening.

The cake was gorgeous -- I wanted something simple, and she was able to help me find just the right design by showing me photos of other work she's done and non-edible models in her studio. As far as I could tell, everything was perfect on the big day, and the cake was delicious. We'll be looking forward to enjoying it next summer!

Ellen was great to work with on our wedding cake. I showed her a picture of a cake I really loved, and after an in-person meeting and a couple email exchanges, we had the perfect cake planned. When I saw the cake on our wedding day, I couldn’t believe how beautiful it looked. My only complaint was the cake on our wedding day was a bit more dry than I remembered from the tasting. Overall, the cake was gorgeous and was really happy with it.

We were referred to Ellen and Cakes to Remember by our venue's catering manager, and we're so glad we were. Ellen was easy to work with, and one of her "CTR" designs was a perfect fit for the look of our wedding. She was able to steer us in the right direction in terms of cake size, and she and the catering manager coordinated on delivery so we didn't have to worry about a thing.

Only less-positive thing I have to say (negative seems too strong a word), is that Ellen charges for every little tweak or extra. (We wanted to boost the orange flavor in one of her standard cakes, which was an extra .15 or .25 per slice, which adds up over 115 slices!) Also, our wedding cake wasn't quite as tender as the sample slice that we tried, but it was still better than average wedding cake for sure!

Overall a good experience--would recommend.

We had cakes to remember do our cake for our special day and the decorations on the cake were beautiful. Unfortunately, we were not very happy with the cake. It was dry and the filling was super sweet. I even tried a second piece the day after and it was definitely not my favorite. I would recommend this place if you want to have a beautiful made cake, but I can't say the same about the cake quality.

Our wedding cake was gorgeous and delicious but I did have trouble getting in touch with Ellen and with not receiving a telephone call back after I left a voicemail. It was stressful to get the design finalized when I couldn't seem to get a response but the final result was great.

Ellen at Cakes to Remember was the best! We we so pleased to have had the opportunity to meet with her and discuss our cake! In the end we gave her artistic freedom to create a cake of her design with our preferences in mind and what she came up with exceeded our expectations and made for a truly perfect centerpiece for our reception!

Ellen at Cakes to Remember made us the most delicious wedding cake - I would recommend going there to anyone getting married in the Boston area. All her cakes were delicious, and it was hard to decide on exactly what flavor we wanted. The design was also beautiful - exactly what I wanted - and had guests raving!
