Working with Cherry was such a dream! We hired her relatively short notice for an elopement in Santa Barbara and she was beyond organized and communicative. She had an intake questionnaire of everything that we didn't even know to ask, and her knowledge of the courthouse we got married at was unreal. She had suggestions of locations for us to pick from and on the day she made us feel so comfortable. We had a blast (and this is definitely not our thing). She also suggested an officiant with city hall paused express weddings, organized a dog handler so that we could get our 1-year old puppy in photos, and had tons of other vendor recommendations. She's a one stop shop! There is a reason why she's consistently named SB's top photographer. The photos came out amazing too. Thank you Cherry!!!!

More than a 5 star!!!
Let me just say that Cherry and Shannon are absolutely amazing and I can't wait to rave about them and tell everyone who is getting married in Santa Barbara or the SB courthouse (I know it is becoming a huge hot spot, rightfully so, it's jaw dropping GORGEOUS) to book with them!!! They know they're way around the courthouse, can recommend all the places to do your ceremony, and can make your Pinterest board come to life!! My pictures were everything I dreamed of and the edits are classic and timeless. For only having an hours time, they were able to capture over 250 of my family, couple shots, and bride/groom portraits and detail shots. The turnaround time was even better as many have to wait months and months to get photos back and mine arrived after a week but was expecting it to be way longer. I couldn't wait to post them and they will look so beautiful around our home. With an elopement, I needed things to be very affordable and ByCherry is in that range and so transparent on their website about their packages. They are both so communicative and responded to all my emails and questions quickly. I am just so happy with my experience and you will not regret choosing them for your big day!!!

Love our pictures!
We got married on the grounds of the Santa Barbara Courthouse and could not have asked for a BETTER photographer!!!! Communication was excellent from our first inquiry about her services, up until the day we met in person on our wedding day. We ran late on our wedding day because I forgot my ID back in the hotel for the marriage license. Cherry assured me she would still capture pictures and not drop her camera at the 1hr mark we had hired her for. She knows all the BEST spots to take pictures and also knew exactly how the process worked at the courthouse. She made us feel at ease during the entire time and we had proofs in our email box on the last day of our honeymoon! We are an older couple (mid 50's) and she captured our BEST shots with a large variety of photos. We HIGHLY recommend Cherry for your wedding photography day. She will not disappoint!

The most affordable
I had a budget of less than a thousand, and was on the brink of not hiring any photographer. That was until I found Cherry's business! She and her team are very responsive with messages, professional, and warm. My partner and I felt comfortable and were happy with the direction given during our photoshoot. We had a lot of laughs. It was fun. The starting price is between five and six hundred for one hour only, at the Santa Barbara courthouse. There was a form to fill out about how many guests, any sensitive things regarding family or friends for photographer to be aware of (I happened to have something sensitive so this was perfect), and preferred iconic spots to take photos around the courthouse. We are very happy with our photos! Thank you!! ❤️

Cherry did an exceptional job with communication even before the big day. She communicated to me very important information about the elopement which was very helpful and allowed me to organize all the logistics of the ceremony. I came across ByCherry's website while I was doing research about getting married in Santa Barbara. Her webisite was so informative and provided the links to all the information I needed. It was everything I wanted and needed to know. Once I connected with her, I knew she would be the perfect photographer for our wedding. Amazing Santa Barbara wedding photography
We hired Cherry to take our wedding photos for our small (50ish) person wedding at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Gardens. Throughout the whole process, she was very easy to work with and was extremely communicative. It was easy to pick out the best photography package for us directly on her website and we were able to formally book her within just a couple hours! During the months-long wait to our wedding, Cherry checked in and asked some questions and was able to give us in the inside scoop about the Santa Barbara County Courthouse renovations and if it would affect our wedding (luckily it didn't)! She was always super helpful and went above and beyond to keep in touch with us. On event day, she showed up on time and just started getting to work! She was very easy and comfortable to work with. Very unassuming and almost like you didn't notice her there while she was taking candid photos. She was very patient and got through our entire group shot list (it was LONG) without complaint. She even drove us back to our hotel for an outfit change and then to our reception venue. Amazing service! We received our photos within 3 weeks of the wedding and it was so worth being patient for. Her photos were simply beautiful and incredible. We got everything we wanted and more and the variety of candids, posed, etc. were perfect. She sent everything over in an easy to download link and it was nicely organized for us. I would highly recommend hiring Cherry for your wedding day photo needs - she will not disappoint and you will be so thankful you worked with her!

We were eloping and I just enjoyed that on the site everything was laid out and I knew the pricing from the beginning. Once the wedding was near the questionnaire was very helpful and the photographer reminded me of the shots I wanted and the grouping of the pics. I truly loved Cherry from the very beginning to the very end. I emailed her months before my wedding simply asking for some more information about her services and she answered EVERY question I had with details. She didn’t know I was going to hire her for my special day yet she still treated me as if I had already booked her and that’s honestly the best feeling ever. She was super nice and very informative. Cherry was wonderful - quick, attentive, and helpful. Although she was unavailable for our shoot, she set us up with our photographer, Shannon, who was just lovely. SB Courthouse Dream
Cherry is absolutely wonderful! She made the Santa Barbara Courthouse Wedding process seamless. Being out of state I was worried about all the details of getting married at the courthouse and she answered all my questions promptly. She was very helpful in figuring out our location at the courthouse and day of she jumped in to take photos of my crazy family perfectly. She made me and my husband, avid photograph avoiders, so comfortable taking photos and didn't make us do any poses that we weren't in to. I would definitely work with her again if we go back to SB. We also got the final edits back in exactly one week and they are PERFECT! Couldn't have asked for a better experience and very grateful to her for everything.

Cherry is the best! Hiring her was the best decision ever. She is quick to respond to emails and is super organized. She was very flexible to change the schedule and locations. She really is on top of everything. She clearly explained how the day was going to go and stuck to it. She knew exactly where to go to take the pictures and would fix my dress every single time. Everything went smoothly and she made the day so much more enjoyable. I had high expectations for her pictures, and we received them last week and she definitely exceeded all of my expectations!! The pictures are absolutely incredible, and if there was a tiny detail we were not happy with she would quickly edit it out. She really goes above and beyond in making sure everything is perfect. Amazing Santa Barbara wedding photographer
Cherry is a very talented photographer and we were fortunate to have her shoot our July 2022 wedding at the Santa Barbara Zoo. If you’re looking for someone to document your special day then look no further.
Cherry is the ideal wedding vendor. She’s super responsive to emails and manages events through an easy-to-use client portal. She met with my husband and I ahead of the wedding day to review timelines and really put us totally at ease.
We started with portraits of the wedding party and family at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. Cherry knows the space and where to go for stunning photos. Getting the wedding parties and family where they needed to be was no easy task, but Cherry made it look effortless.
Moving on to the main event at the Zoo, Cherry and her assistant got straight to work. She’s done countless weddings at the Zoo so knows what works. She went above and beyond to get great shots.
After the wedding she clearly communicated the processing timeline and stuck to it. All of the photos are posted online without watermarks and the site allows high quality downloads.
To sum it up, working with Cherry was a five star experience.

I contacted Cherry because I was impressed with her work online, but soon after contracting her, she provided tips and recommendations both on her own and even when I had special requests. She knew the ins and outs of the Santa Barbara courthouse process and even made sure to walk us through all of it both in emails and in person. Cherry arrived early and made our whole elopement run smoothly. She took great getting ready photos and did a video of the ceremony. We eloped at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, and because she's worked there before, she knew all the locations and angles to get the best shot. We also did beach photos, and again, because she's familiar with the area, we took our photos in a relatively secluded location. Also, she made us both look great! I highly recommend her.

Finding the perfect photographer is never easy. Cherry was just the instant, right, and perfect fit for us. Amazing photos, wonderful experience!
Cherry photographed our elopement last month at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and she was AMAZING! She was so professional, communicative, and kind from before we even booked, and she was the absolute best person I can imagine having with us on that day. She snapped into gear as soon as she arrived and managed to somehow get all the perfect shots during the ceremony but be completely unobtrusive at the same time. She also served as our witness! After the official stuff was done, she took us around the entire outside of the courthouse and gardens and spent loads of time with us. She had such great direction to help us know what to do and how best to pose, and she was such an enjoyable person to spend time with. She sent us first looks less than a week later and our final selection a little over 2 weeks after the wedding. So quick, and the process of choosing our favorites and getting them to download and share was super easy. We LOVE the photos she took! I recommend her wholeheartedly to everyone!

Cherry photographed our elopement at the Santa Barbara courthouse, but it feels like she did so much more than that! We decided to get married during the pandemic so it constantly felt like we were going to have to change our plan because of lockdowns, no courthouse appointments, etc. I'm super thankful for Cherry because she has tons of experience with weddings at the courthouse and was able to guide me through the rollercoaster of a time we had figuring things out. Luckily, we were able to keep our date and everything went perfectly! Cherry took amazing photos of us and we had so much fun working with her. Cherry was referred to me by another photographer I respected. She is professional, timely and easy to work with. The groom was not really into the photo process, but after it was over, he said he really liked Cherry and felt more comfortable than he thought he would. We feel the shoot was a success and we have many beautiful photos to choose from.

The absolute best!
We used Cherry for our wedding on May 23, and we are so happy with the service. Having our wedding during the covid quarantine, we were thrown a lot of obstacles and uncertainties. Cherry was more than willing to work with us during and through it all. On top of all the good reviews and portfolio we saw which led us to her, we got to see how easy it was working with her. We had the pleasure of having Cherry shoot our wedding on May 20. Given the uncertain COVID situation, she remained flexible, cool, and calm. We booked Cherry as our engagement and wedding photographer. Her warm personality allowed us to feel incredibly comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. Cherry was our favorite part of our wedding! She was so flexible as well. It rained on our wedding day so photos got cut short and plans had to change last minute. She was prompt to answer questions, early to arrive on the big day, knew our venue (santa barbara courthouse) inside and out and guided us throughout the day. Fantastic Photographer!
We really enjoyed working with Cherry to photograph our wedding last month. She knows Santa Barbara (and especially the courthouse) so well – she provided a lot of guidance to me through the planning process. Landing on a photo package and contract with her was simple and straightforward. My husband and I had never had professional photos done before the day of the wedding, and we honestly really enjoyed the whole process with Cherry. It felt natural and fun and we absolutely LOVE all of the photos. Looking back at them, she captured the spirit of the day so perfectly, and we will treasure these photos for years to come!
I did get quotes from several local photographers and found her pricing to be very fair, especially for the quality of the finished product. She was professional and so kind in wrangling our various groups for photos. I also worked with her husband to do our photobooth - which turned out great - and made logistics that much easier. Cherry’s photos of my wedding were far above and beyond my expectations. I am extremely photo-shy and have never felt particularly photogenic so I was hoping for maybe a picture or two of my groom and I together that was a real keeper to remember us on our big day. But instead we received more than 30 shots of us together that we both ABSOLUTELY LOVE!! And her detailed shots of the rest of our day were also exceptionally beautiful!

We are so happy that we hired Cherry to photograph our outdoor June wedding! She was wonderful to work with leading up to the wedding, and day-of was no different. She was great at putting us at ease (my husband and I are both fairly camera-shy) and really helped us to have fun with our day! The 2nd shooter that she brought along was fantastic as well. We also did engagement photos with her, and turned those photos into a guest book photo album, where guests could write messages in the wide margins are the photos. We would highly recommend going that route - it made for a really sweet, beautiful keepsake. And most importantly, our wedding photos turned out AMAZING! We got back almost 1000 photos, and they are all such gems. Right now we are trying to pick our favorites for our wedding album, and it is so hard to choose! We're so happy we hired Cherry to take our wedding photos at the Santa Barbara county courthouse! Even though the event was small with a few friends, everyone who saw Cherry's gorgeous and professional photos thought we had splurged on a larger-scale event. Cherry creatively maximized the beautiful architecture and grounds of the courthouse to give us a lot of really stunning shots. The Best Photographer
We were planning a small wedding at the Santa Barbara Courthouse and being from out of town I wasn’t sure where to begin. Once i found ByCherry Photography Website I knew i found my photographer. Her website is as wonderful as her services. It had all the steps and answers to all my questions on the process I had about getting married at the courthouse and even provided vendor referrals and recommended a great restaurant for us to have a perfect wedding dinner. Cherry was by far the best choice for our elopement photos. On the day of our wedding, the Hall of Records was having issues with our system and it was causing delays. Cherry was gracious enough to stay beyond the time we booked her in order for us to get the shots we wanted. The photos are breathtaking and I couldn't have asked for a better photographer to shoot our wedding. I had the hardest time choosing which photos I wanted! Her service is prompt, professional, and we got our photos back in less time than expected. If I could give her 10 stars I would!

Cherry was fun to work with from the get go. For a small gathering, we had a long list of group photos we wanted to achieve, and Cherry was great at corralling everyone for the pictures. This was no mean feat because, given the intimate nature of our wedding, we had photos taken with each of our guests, as well as a group shot of us with all the guests. She also had great ideas for shots that we wouldn’t have thought of on our own, some of which were truly brilliant. She was kind enough to shoot at the Santa Barbara Courthouse for the ceremony and “first look” shots; at the restaurant where we hosted dinner afterwards; and at nearby Butterfly Beach (she even drove us there, so we wouldn’t have to deal with parking!). Cherry had the proofs to us within a couple weeks (she gave us a link to our own page on her site). We couldn’t be happier!

Simply put: Cherry is amazing. If you are considering other photographers, stop everything and book Cherry. We are out of towners, but she spent time to not only meet with us in person when we visited to scope out venues for our small wedding and was available via email throughout the wedding planning process. She was extremely prompt with responses and never hesitated with advice, opinions or helpful hints. She also offered to check out a venue we were considering, which was far beyond the call of duty, but extremely awesome since we could not fly to California to check it out ourselves. In the end, we decided on the Santa Barbara Courthouse and she is a true expert at photography in and around the building and gardens. She is a pleasure to be around, we felt like best pals with her after one meeting and she managed to effortlessly corral our (very small) wedding party for group photos. Her photography is professional, fast, thorough, inconspicuous, BEAUTIFUL and delivered promptly (seriously: our online gallery was available to us 3 days post-wedding!). We really cannot say enough good things about Cherry. She is far and away the best choice for capturing the memories of your wedding.

Until I found Cherry's website and it was a step by step tutorial of how to elope in SB. Cherry makes herself extremely accessible and replies to your email almost immediately. Cherry is absolutely the best!! Two weeks before we took off to Europe we decided we wanted to elope the morning of our flight. I knew I wanted to elope in Santa Barbara because of how gorgeous it is, how it takes me back to my college years, and because it allowed my future hubby and me to have a little getaway destination not too far from home. I Googled Santa Barbara Courthouse weddings and Cherry's website came up. Not only are her pictures fabulous, but she walks you through the elopement process! That was a godsend when the SB Courthouses website is not nearly as clear as her blog is. I emailed her for her availability and a quote. She immediately responded with a quote but said we could lock it in later if we were hesitant we could get an appointment at the Courthouse. I did choose to wait, but still asked her for recommendations on a hair and makeup stylist and other questions about the process. Cherry always responded, and with thorough and detailed responses. It wasn't always about the photos. She was almost like my wedding coordinator! Great bang for our buck!
As for the day of: Cherry was standing out front as we arrived. She was able to capture us as we walked up thrilled and nervous! Truly candid shots. Then she showed us to the Hall of Records, where she took pictures and doubled as our witness. For the next hour or so, Cherry took our photos during the ceremony and at various locations around the Courthouse. She made us feel comfortable, was an expert in all the best locations.
My biggest request: can you please get us a picture within a few hours?! We wanted to send it to our friends and family before we hopped on our plane. Sure enough, as we were going through airport security, Cherry delivered us three stunning pictures. Better than I could ever imagine! When at first the pictures were too large for me to download when not on wifi, she resent them at a lower resolution within minutes! She's the one, book her!!!

Cherry was a wonderful photographer for our courthouse elopement ceremony! She is fast, efficient and has an eye for great shots. I left a review on yelp.com as well, and I don't want to repeat myself verbatim, but this bears repeating: I was very nervous about hiring someone to do my wedding photos without every having met them in person. I met Cherry 30 seconds before walking down the aisle. She casually and quietly introduced herself with a smile, and got to work without any fanfare and big introduction. She took wonderful pics of the short ceremony and then got some great group photos as well as just the two of us. I was amazed that she was able to do all that in one hour. Looking back on my wedding day, she was the least stress free part of the whole event. I would book her again in heartbeat, for any event.

We were so happy to have booked Cherry! Her website actually inspired us to elope in Santa Barbara (very clear information on what to do to get married there, plus beautiful pics). We met her the day of the ceremony, and since we had no experience, or clear vision on what type of pics we wanted, she led the way with her expertise and made it so we would have fun while taking gorgeous pictures. She took her time with us, was very patient, creative and positive. We couldn't be happier with the end result and the experience!
PS1: She also offered to be our witness, since our elopement was just me and my husband!.
PS2: She ended up having the pics ready for us in just a few days!
PS3: We had a few props (banner, bride and groom hats and sunglasses) and she was able to incorporate them in the shoot in a very fun/classy way!
PS4: The booking process was very straightforward and she was very quick to answer any questions we had.

If you are thinking of getting married at the SB Courthouse Cherry is the best! She knows the property in/out. She captured amazing photos in different locations, which I wouldn't have imagined would come out as good as it did. She was patient, fun and energetic. What I really liked was she was able to direct and coordinate our entire wedding group of over 50+ and get them through our group photos so that we still had ample time to take couple photos. She always answered all of our questions in a timely fashion and even made herself available for us to meet before our wedding date! She'll definitely be shooting our future photos.

ByCherry Photography works magic! Cherry takes the best day of your life and preserves it beautifully forever! Before our big day, we had several shoots and we had filled out the client surveys we received, so we were prepped and ready and comfortable with being photographed, and Cherry knew just what pictures to take and in what style. When the photos came in (after a few weeks), it brought back all the joy of our wedding day, and--bonus!--Cherry sent us a sweet slideshow with our first-dance song (which helped lessen my regret at not hiring a videographer).
The day passes so quickly, and real life comes rushing back, but we will always have these precious photos, and we are so, so happy with them!

I contacted Cherry after doing some research on Santa Barbara-area wedding photographers. I found her website, photos and pricing to be exactly what I was looking for. She had a great page with lots of photos explaining how to get married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, which is where I wanted to get married. We met with her a couple weeks before the wedding to scope out locations, and because of that, on my wedding day we felt very comfortable with her. She did a great job, taking us quickly through the courthouse to get our photos. I was so happy that she was able to have a second photo shoot with us at the beach later (at sunset), which we scheduled at the last minute because we didn't know if it would rain or not. I received an announcement photo on my wedding night, then the digital gallery just a couple of weeks later. It was so hard to cut down my favorites (initially I had 250!) to just 75, which is the package I had purchased. Cherry quickly Photoshopped out some signs, a thread that came loose on my dress, etc., and I had all my photos! I am so happy with them and am so happy I used Cherry's services on my special day!

I LOVE CHERRY. All caps are so required. Cherry is legitimately an artist. She photographed both our engagement shots and our wedding, and I was so blown away with the results of both. She is a consummate professional, and her photographs are magnificent. I have received so many compliments on our photographs. People as far back as my childhood have reached out and asked me for Cherry's contact info - and they live on the East Coast. She is just that good. Her photographs belong in magazines. The one problem I had was that it was near impossible to choose which photos I wanted to frame - there were just way too many great ones to choose from. My friends joked that I should have Cherry's photographs turned into a wallpaper for my house so that I can stare at them all day. Can you tell how much I am obsessed with her yet? Cherry did an amazing job capturing our September wedding, we are super pleased with the results! When we got the prints and dropped them off at the framer's, even the framer was impressed with how beautiful our photos were.
Cherry was a pleasure to work with through the entire process. She's very quick to respond, and easy to communicate with. My husband isn't terribly comfortable having his picture taken, but Cherry was relaxed and informal during our engagement shoot (more gorgeous pictures) so we had a great time.
Cherry was able to come scope out our venue the day before the wedding, so she came in knowing exactly where she wanted to take pictures. She was also really on top of the shot list and the different groups we wanted. Everyone was impressed at how thorough she was in making sure we got all the right people in each group shot - and my family is huge and complicated! Since we were married on a ranch, one of the things I was most excited about was getting some great 'ranch' pictures that took advantage of the beautiful backdrops, and Cherry did a fantastic job of capturing the surroundings.
She and her assistant also went the extra mile in taking care of some things that really shouldn't have been theirs to worry about. I saw some video of the wedding a few days later, and was horrified to see that after the ceremony Cherry and Jim were stuck having to figure out how to tie on our 'Just Married' banner to the getaway car. They put on the banner for us, and fixed the letters so they looked perfect. I also had a friend who couldn't make it to the wedding because she wound up in the hospital, and Cherry went out of her way to get me some photos we'd taken for her the very week after the wedding.
We had a really tough time narrowing down our picks for the album, but Cherry did a lovely job of putting that together as well, and we are really pleased with it. I'd highly recommend Cherry for any photography needs.

Cherry photographed our September wedding in Santa Barbara at the Arts & Letters Cafe. She was great! We just got the photos in and we're very pleased with the results. She captured all the important moments and had an artistic eye for creating some really interesting, beautiful shots.

Cherry was our first and only choice for photographer. She was sweet, professional, and had beautiful example books to show us when we met her. She and her assistant were on time to capture our pre-wedding primping and were always there to capture our special moments throughout the day & evening. We just got our wedding photos from Cherry and are absolutely thrilled!!!! They look beautiful and just really showcase all the details and special moments of our day. She is an amazing photographer--and person!--and we highly recommend her. From the beginning we were very impressed with Cherry’s gorgeous photos on her website. We also felt her prices were very reasonable. Meeting her (at In-n-Out! Cool!) just sealed the deal for us: she is fun, professional, kind, and talented. At our wedding, Cherry was wonderful to have around for all these reasons. She made us feel at ease even though having so many photos taken was kind of new for us. And after the wedding I don’t even know how it was possible for her to sort through and edit all those photos as quickly as she did. I’ve heard of friends waiting months for their photos, but we got them in just a few short weeks. As I look through all the photos, I keep feeling more and more impressed at everything she was able to “catch” on camera. Her photos really sum up how the day felt for us. Cherry is fabulous! We just can’t say enough wonderful things about her and her stellar work.
