A must-have for your wedding
I cannot sing the praises of Amanda and her team enough. When you first start planning a wedding, a wedding planner or coordinator might seem like an unnecessary luxury. But I promise you it will be the smartest investment you make. From giving me great vendor recommendations, to design planning, vendor email templates, coordinating COIs and being there the day of to make sure everything ran smoothly — they leave no stone unturned. I felt like I could be present and fully enjoy the day— I didn’t have to stress about anything because they were there every step of the way. I had a perfect wedding and it’s no doubt thanks to their help and hard work.I cannot sing the praises of Amanda and her team enough. A vendor-friendly Planner!
A wedding planner is certainly one of the first vendors any couple should hire! To bring to life the vision of the couple a good planner will assemble a team to get it done. Amanda was wonderful for our crew to work with. She kept us informed so we could perform our job and work with the timeline created. Her attention to detail was appreciated and allowed us to successfully deliver and install our air conditioners to keep the tent comfortable for guests.A wedding planner is certainly one of the first vendors any couple should hire! From a wedding photographer, Amanda is the real deal.
As a wedding photographer, I get to see what goes on behind the scenes, and I want to shout from the rooftops that Amanda is the real deal!
Working with planners and coordinators can range from heavenly to harmful, and it makes me so happy to come across people like Amanda, who are exceptional at what they do.
Leading up to the wedding, her communication was easy and helpful. She was invested in not only making her clients happy (and they were very happy with her) but also in making it a smooth and beneficial experience for the vendors as well. She guided the whole process while also supporting me so that I could do the best possible job for the happy couple.
On the wedding day, Amanda seemed so calm and light, and she ran the wedding with ease and joy.
I definitely recommend hiring Amanda! In addition to getting her job done, she truly cares about her clients, their guests, the vendors, and every person and thing involved in your glorious wedding.

I was resistant to booking a wedding planner. My wife and I were not only on a tight budget, but also are extremely Type A, busy-bodies who, together, can accomplish a lot, and I figured we would be able to pull it off without a planner. I WAS SO WRONG! From the moment we first met with Amanda, it was clear how knowledgable she was about the industry, and was able to ensure we were properly prepared for anything and everything! Two things are true about our wedding. 1) It was the best day of our lives and 2) We absolutely could not have pulled it off without Amanda. Amanda is The Best of The Best. My wife and I recall a time before we hired Amanda when we foolishly thought we didn't need a wedding planner. Amanda not only taught us how to do a wedding right throughout the process of planning, she also saved us a lot of money by showing up with a vast reserve of knowledge about the industry. Every step of the way we felt supported and cared for. Amanda also handled our Wedding Weekend - with all of its intricacies and curveballs - like a Boss. She wrangled our family, led us all through a beautiful rehearsal, communicated with our many vendors, pretty much singlehandedly made sure our Wedding Ship didn't sink - and she did so with grace and style. I'll say in closing that as our guests were leaving our reception and everyone wanted to say goodbye to me and my wife, Amanda walked over to us and gently said: "Your bonfire was just lit and it's always most beautiful at the very beginning. Go out there now - you don't want to miss this." Without those moments of guidance from Amanda throughout our entire weekend both my wife and I would have missed out on a lot. Instead, Amanda helped us to produce the most important day of our lives. Amanda was truly the engine that made our wedding day run smoothly! My husband and I got married at a venue that required lots of extra coordination (transportation,catering, rentals, etc.). Amanda’s organization skills were put to the test and she did an incredible job! From our first phone call with Amanda we knew she was a perfect fit. She always had thoughtful ideas and was aware of our budget. The final weeks leading up to the wedding were filled with many decisions and Amanda was so attentive to make sure nothing slipped through the cracks. On the day of the wedding, Amanda and her team were on their A-Game ensuring the day flowed and my husband and I were able to enjoy ourselves. As an event planner myself, it was hard to turn my “planner brain” off, but with Amanda as our day of planner I was able to take a deep breath knowing we were in such great hands. We hired Amanda for month-of preparation. She also provided us with information about vendors that we could hire for our wedding and a checklist for what to do when. Her advice on vendors and checklists were invaluable. However, even more importantly, she made the run-up to our wedding and the day itself stress-free. She handled all the last minute logistics, gave us a clear schedule to follow, and all we had to focus on was actually getting married and enjoying ourselves. Through it all, she was cheery, calm and exceedingly competent. I couldn't recommend her more!We hired Amanda for month-of preparation. Amanda O'Callaghan is no mere mortal. She is a miraculous angel-goddess who waves a wand to make all wedding stress disappear. I had a New York City wedding in December 2017. Our engagement began on June 21st, 2017, and we didn't want a long engagement, so we got the balling rolling with venues/details. Our fabulous Manhattan reception venue (The Down Town Association) advised that we get a "Day-of Planner" to keep things organized on the big day. They highly recommended Amanda O'Callaghan. My mother and I agreed to meet Amanda mid-September, and we both knew right away, over lunch at Maison Kayser, that she was hired. We instantly felt a sense of comfort, calm, and detailed organization. After we discussed Day-Of Planning, we fell in love with her, and asked if she could do Month-Of Planning instead. She explained she could, and what that would encompass. Upon hearing this, my Mother says how about Two-Month-Of Planning, or more?! From that point on, Amanda became our wedding planner, and she helped us keep everything (and everyone) on track with a detailed timeline, weekly updates, and regular to-do checklists. She kept track of all of our vendors, payments, wedding party members, and so many other details of the wedding & rehearsal dinner that we didn't even want to think about. When all was said and done, the romantic weekend in New York City was pulled off flawlessly, and Amanda helped bring to life the wedding we wanted. ZERO hiccups. After the wedding, my family decided that we should keep her forever and make her an honorary family member. We absolutely LOVED working with Amanda. She was our "day-of" coordinator for our wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse, but honestly, she was so involved long before the actual day. We had a couple initial calls, and then in the final month, she really stepped in, taking over communication with all my vendors, and working on all the final details making sure everything was covered. Our venue was a historic park site so it has a lot of specific rules and she was able to navigate through it all and made sure nothing was missed. She is so detail oriented and on top of everything, and she has an amazingly calm presence that was wonderful to be around all day. On the day she truly handled every single detail and moved us through the day seamlessly - we were truly able to enjoy every moment of our big day without worrying about a thing. Additionally, she is such a sweet, lovely person, her just being there truly added so much to our day. We can't say enough good things about Amanda!We absolutely LOVED working with Amanda. When we first started planning our wedding, I didn't think I needed a coordinator. Boy was a wrong. I don't know how we would have pulled off that day without Josh and Amanda's help. It was seriously the best money we spent on the wedding.
We reached out to Amanda a little late in the game, so she was already committed to another wedding, but she paired us up with Josh for our day-of coordination package and they were both fabulous.
The RX sessions were so important and instructive, and left us feeling like we had a solid plan. And Aisleplanner is amazing. I was on that website pretty much every day in the final weeks before the wedding.
The day of the event, Josh was a wizard, seamlessly coordinating an event with a two-hour set up window, a one-hour breakdown window, a church wedding and a getting-ready hotel in Manhattan, with two shuttle buses for our guests. I can honestly say I had ZERO stress the day of the wedding, and that is all because of Josh and the day-of assistants. We put all the pieces together, and Josh executed our vision perfectly.

I had worked with Amanda before she was 100% byAmanda Event Studio's and that is where I began to value her professional and calm demeanor and attention to detail. Once Amanda left the venue I was planning on having the wedding at I didn't think twice about bringing her on board. Amanda was ALWAYS thorough and she understands how weddings should work. One key point is that she wants to understand how you want YOUR wedding to work. Amanda wants you to enjoy your special day even more than you can personally imagine and it truly shows in how she works with your vendors and communicates with you. She's personal and that means a lot when you're planning a day in bits and pieces and don't get to see it all together until the actual day. I think the true eye-opener/moment of gratification came on the wedding day. We always had our meetings after a long day of work (for both of us), etc. While still always being professional there is a relaxing air about her where I never felt the need to demand something or feel like a "bridezilla". It was always a casual conversation, sharing ideas and concerns, and chipping away at the details. But on the wedding day she showed up with her assistant Jillian - dressed exactly how the other guests would be dressed (which to me, meant a lot since we had black tie optional), earpieces in, and hit every point through our 15 minute walk through that she knew I would be concerned with. I actually got to take a deep breathe and knew that we all were going to knock this wedding out of the park. Jillian was an extension of Amanda - it was like they were sharing a brain and I had never met Jillian before. Immediately I trusted her like I trusted Amanda and I just knew I was going to be able to enjoy the evening. I think I am the only married person I know who can say I had the perfect wedding and I can't think of anything that went wrong. But on the wedding day she showed up with her assistant Jillian - dressed exactly how the other guests would be dressed (which to me, meant a lot since we had black tie optional), earpieces in, and hit every point through our 15 minute walk through that she knew I would be concerned with. I actually got to take a deep breathe and knew that we all were going to knock this wedding out of the park. Jillian was an extension of Amanda - it was like they were sharing a brain and I had never met Jillian before. Immediately I trusted her like I trusted Amanda and I just knew I was going to be able to enjoy the evening. I think I am the only married person I know who can say I had the perfect wedding and I can't think of anything that went wrong. To me, that's priceless. -

I was very skeptical about hiring a wedding planner because I'd head about other people's bad experiences, I consider myself pretty well organized and I didn't want to "outsource" my wedding. I interviewed several planners and right away I was impressed with Amanda. She is friendly, professional and although modest has an impressive resume/body of work. Amanda was incredibly easy to work with, is very detail oriented, always followed through when she said she would and truly went above and beyond to make it all come together for us. We had a snafu with our caterer on the day of the wedding that Amanda was able to manage for us and we nor any of our guests ever even knew about it until after the event. One of the things I most appreciated about Amanda as I look back was her willingness to be as involved or as hands off as we needed. She didn't insist on doing everything her way or micro managing us but she wasn't shy about stepping in to address areas where we needed help. Amanda also went out of her way to make not only my husband and I comfortable with all the planning but also our families.... not an easy task. Amanda was my day-of coordinator for my September 2016 wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse, and I can't recommend her highly enough. When I trudged through the initial waters of wedding planning in NYC (NOT a dream scenario for someone who hadn't thought about her wedding prior to getting engaged), I reached out to Amanda for some informal advice about venues, vendors and the like. Her in-depth knowledge of the NYC/Brooklyn wedding industry blew me away, and I knew I needed her in my corner once I booked a venue.
While I did most of the planning on my own, having Amanda as my DOC was the best decision I made throughout my planning process. Not only is she a fantastic, fun person (i.e. fun, chill pre-wedding meetings), she is a seasoned pro in the planning world. Every time I left a meeting with Amanda, I felt calmer and more assured in my decision to have her on board to execute the big day. To say she pays attention to detail is an understatement; she anticipated and planned for logistics and details I never would have thought of, and I confidently deferred to her for all of the many day-of, game time decisions. She ran the wedding flawlessly, and I can't imagine I would have felt as cloud nine-y (totally a word) without Amanda in charge. Amanda helped us scout our location, establish a reasonable budget, select vendors (DJ, photographer, bakery, etc), and generally provide a guideline of every element we needed to incorporate into our wedding wedding. Amanda was an exceptional planner and an absolute necessity to our wedding planning and execution process.
We are extremely particular ourselves, and had a lot of specific things we wanted – Amanda was able to execute on our vision (not impose her own preferences as some other planners might have.) She translated what we discussed in conversations and over emails to an event that was just as we had pictured.
She also helped guide us and provide insights in areas we were weaker; she helped keep us on schedule; she managed all our vendor relationships, and more. She especially shined on the day of the event where she conducted a symphony of vendors and staff and even was hands on with decor and dessert plating (among other things.)
I'll add that our wedding was a very untraditional format (that people loved!) With continuous food, drink, and dancing all night – start to finish – but with staggered coursing. It took place in a beer hall that had never done a wedding of this size, and several outside vendors were brought in. The room was also transformed in layout and florals. Although the space wasn't "raw" I'd say it was actually more difficult (from a planning and vendor interface perspective) to transform this venue.
