Tiffany and the entire team at Buttercream were so friendly, kind, and responsive. They made the planning process stress-free, and just as importantly, make delicious and beautiful cakes! We are neighbors and frequent customers of Buttercream Bakeshop and we were thrilled to find out they were available to bake for our wedding. The cake tasting experience was great and involved about seven flavor varieties and seven frosting varieties to mix and match. The staff had the best combinations made already, and we chose the lemon cake with strawberry buttercream and the s'mores cake (both in their set of defaults). We added on a number of desserts like macarons, citrus bars, and cookie pies. Every single thing was a hit!

I absolutely loved the service and the cake-sampling experience. Buttercream was responsive and easy to work with, and flexible with us when we couldn't decide which of the yummy cake flavor to go with (we wound up getting both flavors). It was also stunning to look at!

Buttercream Bakeshop never disappoints. This cake was so incredibly delicious. The staff helped me come up with a design that complemented the theme of our party and included the flavors the client preferred. This cake is an elderflower soaked cake with blackberry lavender buttercream.The staff was so accommodating and they communicated via email and text to ensure I was able to get my order in before the cut off time. I highly recommend their services for your next event.

Tiffany and her team are extremely professional. They responds so quickly and always on top of things. We got a dummy cake for cutting and sheet cake for servings. This is the best decision we made since our wedding day was 95 degree. The cake also almost got knock over several times but it's super stable and in perfect condition by the end of the night. I still cannot get over how pretty was our wedding cake. As for serving cake, it's so delicious and not too sweet since we got the Italian buttercream. My family was fighting for leftover cake the next day since it tastes even better on the second day.

Stunning cake & excellent service!
As soon as we started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted a cake from Buttercream! We got in touch and they couldn't have been better to work with. The guided tasting box they provided helped us figure out our perfect flavor combination-- vanilla cake with coconut buttercream and passionfruit curd. We also decided to accompany the cake with a number of their dessert bites, which all got rave reviews! Would highly recommend them to anyone in the great DC area.

Buttercream bakeshop is amazing!!! We had such a hard time picking our flavors during the tasting because they were all so yummy. We ended up going with two flavors, since we had a larger guest count - one was almond cake, blueberry jam, and cream cheese frosting, and the other was vanilla cake, passionfruit curd, and coconut milk frosting. They were both phenomenal and received rave reviews from our guests! Our only regret was that we cut the cake right before the dance floor opened up and we were having such a fun time dancing that not everyone had a chance to eat their piece! But would 10/10 recommend Buttercream Bakeshop for any special (or ordinary) occasions where you want tasty cake & a beautiful presentation! The staff are super friendly, very responsive and creative, and were a pleasure to work with from start to finish!

The most delicious cake!
I am a HUGE cake person, so a delicious cake was extremely important to me on my wedding day. Buttercream absolutely delivered! We tasted several bakeries in the area and buttercream was the standout. I'm still thinking about the almond cake with chambord frosting. I will say that (1) our 3 tier cake was leaning pretty far over by the time we cut it after dinner - I think this just happens sometimes and it was fine, but our family was a little concerned it would tip over! (ended up being fine) and (2) the decoration on the cake wasn't quite what we were expecting. I would probably recommend a decor scheme similar to work they've done in the past, or something more patterned/abstract. That being said, the decor wasn't nearly as important as the actual taste of the cake to me, so it's definitely still a 5/5 from me!

The most delicious cake ever
Cake is literally my favorite food... I've been known to eat upwards of 8 pieces of wedding cake at other weddings. I'm rather famous for it actually. So for my own wedding, the cake was one of the most important things to me. I wanted it to be GOOD cake above all else -- a pretty cake that doesn't taste amazing is not really cake! Buttercream knocks it out of the park on both fronts. The cake is as delicious as cake can get -- truly insane. And they offer so many amazing flavors! We ended up with three different ones because it was so hard to choose. And then on top of the cake being absolutely amazing... their designs are gorgeous. We did both a traditional beautiful cake and a fun groomscake that we designed special. Both exceeded our expectations. If you're in the DC Metro area, you must work with Buttercream!

Food as Art. The wedding cake of our dreams!
Can I just say, WOW. Buttercream. They are not just bakers, they are ARTISTS. We were blown away by our cake. From the significant attention to deal to the flavorful layers, we literally could not have asked for a more perfect cake. The Buttercream team deserves so many kudos!!! I will definitely be ordering personal cakes in the future because we literally can't get enough. From the delicate designs on the Capitol dome to the beautiful calligraphy, we were SO happy with the final product!! And I haven't gotten to the groom's cake! If you love chocolate, definitely go for the devils food cake, it was HEAVENLY.

We had a wonderful experience working with Tiffany and Buttercream Bakery. When we first reached out to Buttercream Bakery, Tiffany was quick to respond with the requested information and shared a beautiful lookbook/magazine with photos and descriptions. Due to COVID, we did not have an in-person consultation/tasting. Instead, Buttercream offered to-go tasting boxes (which we liked). We selected a three tiered blueberry/almond cake (a surprise tasting winner) with italian buttercream dressing. As we approached our April 2021 wedding date, DC still had their Phase II social distancing guidelines in place. With our reduced guest list, Tiffany generously adjusted our order (# of slices). Our wedding cake was a DREAM and DELICIOUS! Even my parents, who can be tough food critics, commented how moist and tasty it was. We look forward to picking up our freshly baked anniversary next year!

Cream puff perfection!
These cream puffs were THE HIT for our small backyard wedding reception! We had a cake (not provided by Buttercream), but, it was overshadowed by these delicious puffs. Everyone asked where we got them, and kept going back to get more or try to choose one with a different flavor (we had mocha and vanilla, and the icy had gold flecks. A lovely upscale touch!). These are unlike anything I've had from anywhere else - just absolute perfection. Having something fancy and unexpected like this really made our unconventional wedding feel a little more special. I even had a friend sneak several into my car so I would be sure to have a few as we drove away (because you can be sure that there were no leftovers!) Thank you Buttercream!

We truly had the most wonderful experience with this bakery - from the proposal process, to the tasting, to the magnificent work of art on my wedding day! Tiffany and everyone on the team was super professional, responsive, kind, and helpful. I also love that they use the HoneyBook interface for communication - makes payments and keeping records super easy! I was a very indecisive bride and changed my mind on the cake design multiple times, and they were so chill about it and provided me with multiple proposals until the cake fit (note: I had this luxury because I did book them quite far in advance)! The cake I wanted was not in their existing repertoire/catalogue, and they made it happen. They even went above and beyond and were able to make vegan and gluten-free cupcakes so all guests had a dessert to enjoy. We used their gorgeous cake pops as favors (see photos). Thank you SO MUCH Buttercream Bakeshop for making my dream wedding cake come true!!

From the beginning, they make sure to understand what you want so they can effectively capture your design and provide you with a final product that you will love. Amazing gluten free cake
Our cake was one of the most important decisions for the wedding. As a home baker I knew I wanted the cake to not only be stunning but also taste delicious, OH and be gluten free. ...Buttercream helpfully stepped in to make a surprise groom's cake for me when my wedding venue's pastry chef couldn't. A custom sheet cake featuring my now husband's black and yellow Mustang! The ordering and pick up process was seamless, the pricing fair and honest, and the cake, well, absolutely delicious, even at the end of a full day eating tons of wedding food! Buttercream was the exclusive vendor for our venue for wedding cakes. We did that at-home tasting and enjoyed every bite of cake we had. Buttercream's wedding cake was included with our catering package at The Line and we're so thankful for it! The team was so easy to work with and tasting everything was so fun. We're thankful that we were able to pick two flavors so that we didn't have to pick just one.
We really appreciated how organized the Buttercream team was with making modifications as we narrowed down our guest count and that they worked with the venue to provide us with a cake stand.
AND! They saved a mini cake for my husband and I to enjoy after the wedding - such a nice surprise!

We ultimately did not end up using Buttercream Bakeshop, because our caterer offered to do a cake for free, but let me just say that we did a tasting with them and their cakes were amazing! It's also super convenient if you have a busy schedule because they do tasting pick-ups. You select everything online and then just roll by with your treats. They also surprised us by adding in some of their other desserts -- which were divine! If we hadn't decided to go with our final caterer, I'm sure we would have hired them to do our wedding cake!

We absolutely loved our cake from Buttercream Bakeshop and our guests did too! The food at our wedding was one of the most critical aspects of our day and our cake did not disappoint. The cake was gorgeous and guests raved about the flavor (elderflower soaked lemon cake with blackberry jam and buttercream icing). We are so excited to crack open our anniversary slice next year.

We loved our wedding cake from Buttercream!
Our cake was the only dessert we served at our wedding, so it was especially important that it be delicious. Tiffany and the Buttercream team delivered. Tiffany was responsive from our very first request for a tasting, and her use of the Honeybook platform made everything easy.
We went with a peekaboo cake that had layers of almond cake with blueberry jam and cream cheese buttercream and vanilla cake with lemon curd and strawberry buttercream, and they were perfect for our summer wedding. Not a slice went uneaten, and our guests raved about how delicious everything was. I can't wait to dig into the slices we froze for our anniversary next year!

We served an array of cakes—different styles & flavors—from Buttercream Bakeshop, ordering through their selection of pre-designed (non-wedding-specific) cakes. They were all gorgeous and very tasty, according to our own taste buds & the rave reviews of our guests.
The two best parts of Buttercream Bakeshop for me were (1) the bakery's unique flavors, like almond amaretto, elderflower-lemon with blackberry jam, a "cotton candy cake" with dehydrated cotton candy on top ( though they also offer plenty of more traditional cake fare as well) and (2) the fact that they have such cool standard designs that you can view online (along with very specific information about pricing depending on what size & flavor you choose) and also order online weeks in advance, without having to talking specifically to anybody. It made picking out and ordering our array of cake flavors/sizes/styles super easy. We chose to pick up the cakes on the morning of the wedding (thanks to my bridesmaid Bonnie for taking care of that!) but you can also have them delivered. The shop also does customized cakes and wedding specific options, with tastings, if you want to go that route. But we just stopped into the bakery during normal business hours a few times before making our order and bought slices or cupcakes in order to taste what we wanted.

Buttercream provided the cake and mini desserts at our wedding. Both were delicious! They even made a custom dog figurine that looked so much like our dog.
Although everything was tasty, there were no mini desserts but lots of cake left. I think this is because a lot of people assume wedding cake will be bad but are more hopeful for the mini desserts. So, if I could go back in time I would have done more mini desserts and less cake.
Tiffany was great to work with. I was a huge flake because of other things that came up during the planning process, but she took it in stride.

The quality of every single item at Buttercream Bakeshop is amazing, and always consistent. I'm purchased from here multiple times and was happy to do so for my bridal shower as well and they were a hit. Due to a miscommunication, when I initially came in for a tasting, they did not know I am gluten free. Despite it completely not being her fault, Tiffany felt terrible and sent me home with a box of gluten free goodies and immediately sent an email listing all the things she can make gluten free. She said she never wants anyone to feel excluded from her bakery and I honestly never did! She created a beautiful rice krispie cake base (looked like a regular cake and was later sliced and people could not get enough of it!) with a 20" macaroon tower on top and buckeyes on the side which was exactly what I wanted so guests could grab something sweet and keep dancing. Everything was absolutely delicious, the rice krispie cake base was decorated so simply the beautifully, and I was happy to be able to have treats I could eat at my wedding!

Buttercream Bakeshop made us a beautiful wedding cake. Though we never met in person, Tiffany worked with us via email to design the perfect cake. She took our various ideas and incorporated them into a modern, elegant design. All of the cake flavors we tried were delicious, but we particularly liked the two we selected- almond with raspberry jam and lemon-elderflower with blackberry jam. There was more than enough cake for all our guests and we are looking forward to enjoying the top layer on our first anniversary!

We absolutely loved working with Tiffany at Buttercream Bakeshop! Prior to our tasting at the shop, we were presented with the flavor menu from which we chose the cake combinations to taste. There were so many delicious ones to choose from - it was so hard to pick! The tasting was the experience you expect. You sit in her beautiful, Instagram-worthy shop and enjoy generous (and very nicely presented) tastes of various cake combos plus a few extra flavor surprises. Tiffany was also kind enough to create a special treat for us. My family has a tradition of chocolate covered cashews at special events and she made them for us!
Hands down, whatever cake you order from Tiffany (for any occasion!) will be gorgeous and delicious. When it comes to design, having photos of cakes you like is helpful. Tiffany also has an incredible portfolio she can share for inspiration. We agreed on a design but when her mocks came back to us, I realized while beautiful, it wasn't what I wanted, afterall. Tiffany kindly went back to the drawing boards and created the most incredibly magnificent cake for our wedding. Not only is she the most talented cake baker and designer ever, she is kind, friendly and very hospitable. We were honeymooning in Hawaii and she offered us a lengthy list of recommendations for spots to enjoy (many of which we did!). Thank you to Tiffany and the wonderful Buttercream Bakeshop team - working with you was a true pleasure!

Their cakes are delicious and to say their staff is talented is an understatement - we did a two tier wedding cake which was perfect, but one of the highlights of our wedding was the grooms-cake. Since our wedding was on the water in Maryland I wanted to surprise my husband with a cake shaped like a bushel of crabs. It was PERFECT - half the guests didn't realize it was a cake! Buttercream was amazing! Tiffany is super sweet and responsiveness. I couldn't believe that they could offer such beautiful cakes at such a reasonable price! I saw an example of the cake design I wanted on their Instagram and they were able to recreate it! They offer so many cake and buttercream options (with the option to mix-and-match); you are sure to find one that suits your taste buds! They do a pick-up tasting, which involves you stopping by the shop and taking home 5 cupcakes. At first we were confused, but liked this process better than doing it at the shop because we honestly could only eat 2 cupcakes at a time before needing a break. It was a hard decision because they were all SO good! They also were able to provide a couple gluten-free option for our guests. Although we didn't take advantage of this, they can offer other sweet treats if you're looking to create a dessert bar. Highly recommend! Looking forward to eating our slice at our one year anniversary!

Buttercream created a small sweetheart cake for our wedding, and it was delicious! The staff at Buttercream were patient with us as we went back (several times) to taste different flavors, and they were flexible with a last minute change. The delivery service they recommend, Best Messenger, was also fantastic and we highly recommend them as well!

Laura at Fluffy Thoughts was so great to work with. My now husband and I came in with a design in mind and Laura immediately started sketching it out in front of us. The team at Fluffy Thoughts was super accommodating to a very last minute change. My cake turned out exactly how I had wanted it to look. We had multiple layers and they were delicious. We ordered a 3 tier Nesa cake from Buttercream Bakeshop for our wedding. The cake was beautiful, and the bakery helped us with a series of questions we had before choosing the style of the cake. We were so delighted when we saw the finished product on our wedding day, and were absolutely thrilled with the fun colors and gorgeous look. We went with the sugar and spice flavor, which was absolutely delicious! So many people came up to us and told us that they usually never eat wedding cake, but they scarfed down ours. We were also able to save some money by using sheet cakes to accommodate all of our guests. Buttercream Bakery staff are true professionals, and we highly recommend buying your sweets from here!

Buttercream Bakery should be your cake vendor if you're having a DMV area wedding, bar none. Through their easy to use communication/payment system to the amazing look and taste of the cakes and other desserts they make, this is an easy choice. We used them for both a cake and also assorted treats - normally after a wedding, there's cake left over; not this one. Normally after a wedding, there are desserts left over; not this one. Alex, Tiffany, and crew made a cake that looked exactly like we wanted and tasted better than we could have hoped. Buttercream has our highest recommendation.

I loved this place. I knew I wanted them to bake our wedding cake from the very beginning but they ended up providing so much more for our reception. Our cake was so incredibly beautiful, having worked off out invitation suite, the design was completely custom and hand done. Tiffany and her team also provided a complete dessert spread that was unbelievable and our guests ate it up right away. I only wish we had extras to take home in the end. Book them now. The cake tasting may have been one of my favorite days in all of wedding planning. They also made us a small gluten free cake for my mother and my father thought that was the best of all of them.

Our guests couldn't say enough about how good the cake was at our wedding. We tried many cakes and went to many tastings. Buttercream was the best of all of them. Who knew cake could be so different. Their cake was moist, flavorful and absolutely delicious. I was disappointed there wasn't any leftover. I later found out that guests were asking for seconds. That's how good it was! Hands down best bakery in DC!

After going to the tasting we immediately knew that this was the bakery we wanted to make our wedding cake. As we had an October wedding we chose the apple cake with salted caramel (and the almond raspberry sheet cake to supplement). We went with a very simple design as we were working with a smaller budget. As expected, the wedding cake was delicious. We received many complements at the reception.

We hired Buttercream Bakeshop for our wedding cake. First of all, the cake tasting we went to was out-of-this-world delicious! They made it such a fun experience. I absolutely loved our wedding cake, we went with a lemon cake and an elder flower icing which was phenomenal. It was incredibly delicious and we received so many compliments throughout the night! Tiffany and Alex were wonderful to work with. They offer such a wide variety of desserts in addition to creative cake flavors. The planning process was really easy, and Tiffany was always very quick to respond to my questions and emails. In our initial emails, I had mentioned that we were interested in cake and other small desserts, so when we had the tasting, they brought samples of some of those desserts for us to try. For the cake tasting, we got to choose from a few different cake flavors and frosting flavors, and then we could mix and match them, along with some fillings, to see which combinations we liked the best. This was such a great way to organize the tasting so we could find the perfect combination to meet our tastes. They were open to our ideas and suggestions, and everything turned out perfect. They even made a small box of desserts for my husband and I to take home after the wedding, which was perfect since we didn't get a chance to try all of the desserts during the wedding. I would highly recommend Buttercream Bakeshop for all of your dessert needs (especially the Buckeyes)!

You should book Tiffany right now. Seriously, go do it. I'm pretty sure she'll be unaffordable soon. She's just that good. She's so good that our day-of coordinator commented about how I'd emphasized our excitement about the cake at least a dozen times before the wedding. Wedding cake has a tendency to be heavy and dry. Not Tiffany's. The cake she made for us was fluffy and rich, and with real shredded carrot you can see in the carrot cake. It's just ridiculously delicious. (So delicious that my husband and I have been coming up with excuses to get more of Tiffany's desserts and cakes.) Plus Tiffany is awesome to work with. She was endlessly patient with my many questions. She was the person I excitedly emailed as soon as we reached our venue on wedding day, just to tell her how awesome the cake looked. Tiffany is the very best of what you'd hope for in a vendor: talented at her craft, fun and easy to work with, responsive, flexible, reasonably priced (or as reasonably priced as wedding cake gets). She's got it all.

Tiffany and her business partner Alex make the most delicious wedding cakes ANYWHERE in NOVA/DC and are at the same price point as any other "fancy" cake place, but the cake tastes SO MUCH BETTER. And they look gorgeous. Tiffany was very responsive over email and delivered a fantastic product at the agreed upon price. My experience with Buttercream Bakeshop was extremely positive. I hired Tiffany's company to cater bite-sized desserts for a 60 person baby shower that I recently hosted. Tiffany was so easy to work with; when I initially reached out to her company, she helped guide me on the number of pieces to order given the size of our party and had so many menu options to choose from, it was hard to limit myself! She made sure that we had a nice variety of pastry flavors, colors, and shapes so that the table looked interesting and served as a centerpiece to the room. Tiffany was extremely professional and delivered our pastries on time; she even helped us plate everything so that the dessert table looked professional.
All of the pastries were fresh and tasted as good as they looked! Some of my favorites were the Mini Chocolate Peanut Butter Tart; you could tell that she had spent time making all of the tiny tart shells herself instead of using something pre-bought or packaged. This attention to quality truly sets her apart from others in the industry. Her French macarons were out of this world, and in addition to being baked perfectly, each flavor was decorated uniquely to distinguish it from other flavors on the dessert table. The Lime and Gingersnap Donuts were also delicious - I loved the use of creative flavors, which really took a pastry we all know and love to the next level. Another standout pastry for me was the White Chocolate Cream Puff. We had a few of her Marshmallow treats, including Vanilla Marshmallows dipped in chocolate, which were beautifully executed, and a new product she is testing - Raspberry and Vanilla Marshmallows - yes, please! Finally, her cookies like the Whoopee Pie and Oatmeal Cream Pie and treats like the Krispy's were all wonderful and made everyone nostalgic for their favorite childhood treats.
Overall, I would highly recommend Buttercream Bakeshop to others and plan to use them again for my future event needs.

I could not recommend Buttercream Bakeshop any more highly. I tend to find wedding cakes bland -- particularly the more visually stunning ones. Buttercream Bakeshop provided us with a wedding cake that was not only beautiful but also delicious -- an almond cake with a delicious ginger peach compote and a buttercream frosting. Our guests were raving about it. But, they were also raving about all of the delicious treats that Buttercream Bakeshop provided on our dessert bar. Everything was unique and was just the right mix of fun and sophisticated -- from thin mint rice krispie treats and funfetti donuts to amaretto jewels and delicious macarons. The presentation on the dessert bar was also perfect! Buttercream Bakeshop is the place to go for weddings and other special events.

I was so very pleased with my 3-tier wedding cake! Everyone loved the design and flavors. I especially loved the bakery's ability to translate my "ideas" into reality. I couldn't find a picture of what I wanted and they were incredibly helpful and creative and I loved that my cake wasn't a copy of something I found online - it was truly original! They were very responsive and their attention to detail was unparalleled. I can't recommend Buttercream Bakeshop highly enough.

I have to say I'm very picky when it comes to cake, often it's too sweet or too buttery, or too something. The cake(s) (yes more than one) that I've bought from the Buttercream Bakeshop have all been A-mazing. Like I want to lick the pan that has any left over frosting on it. I've had simple vanilla on vanilla cakes, and more adventurous cookie monster cakes that have had a cookie dough center and they have all been very yummy. Also I like how they are decorated too, that's always the first thing to sell me. Definitely worth the money for these cakes and pastries. It has become my go-to place for all the birthday cakes!

A wonderful experience! The staff was so easy to work with and the cake was perfect. We had a tasting prior to the event which allowed my husband and I to taste different flavors and meet with the staff. We selected three for the event: one flavor (yummy lemon) for the main cake and two others for the cutting cakes. On the day of, the main cake was beautiful, covered in white buttercream with a swiss dot pattern. All three flavors were delicious - moist and flavorful. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the cake! (Yes we had guests who grab a slice of all three.)

Buttercream Bakeshop has the most amazing macarons and the craziest, yummiest flavors! They did my wedding favors, which were boxed macarons. I loved the shimmery frosting glaze which really made them pop. And I loved the packaging they helped me to design. My guests were really impressed! Tiffany and Co. were really easy to work with and I didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day, they were delivered on-time (if only my wedding limo was as punctual....but that's another review)!

Our wedding cake was breathtaking & incredibly delicious! Tiffany is super friendly & very creative - she took the time to get to know us to get a better idea of what kind of cake we would like. Buttercream did an excellent job as our baker. Starting with the amazing tasting to the beautiful final product, they were a breeze to work with and gave us exactly what we wanted. We requested a specific piping design for one of our layers that we had seen in a magazine, and Buttercream did a wonderful job emulating it. We also loved the flavors that we chose, as did all of our guests! We got many compliments from guests regarding both the look and taste of our cake. Buttercream made our vision a reality and we would recommend them highly. (And their birthday cakes are also excellent!)

Buttercream Bakeshop was great! We booked with them and they worked with us at length to design the exact cake we were looking for. My husband and I then suddenly decided we wanted to bag the idea of a traditional wedding cake entirely and have a sculpted dog cake. It was a bizarre request but they totally delivered! They even made a practice run to make sure it would be what we wanted. Many guests remarked to us later that they LOVED our cake. It was perfect!!!

My husband and I didn't want a big wedding cake, we wanted a small one tier cake just for us. I was excited to go to the tasting for Buttercream Bakeshop and get to try all the amazing goodies Tiffany has to offer plus the incredible cake pairings. We decided to go with a 7x7 lemon cake with white chocolate and pomegranate buttercream fillings and vanilla buttercream frosting on the outside. It tasted heavenly and had that bit of summer flair that we wanted! It's currently at my moms house in PA and I'm impatiently waiting for her to bring it down for us to eat post-honeymoon!! Expensive but definitely worth every penny!

Our cake, wow! Buttercream was great to work with from the initial inquiry, to the tasting, to our actual wedding cake! The wedding cake tasting box was one of our favorite wedding planning activities. Our cake was beautiful and tasted even better! Our guests the next day, were asking for another piece of cake. I'm happy to report that this team read my previous review and reached out to tell me that they've implemented a "Cake Care Card" practice to ensure that venues know how to properly handle and serve their cakes. Brides shouldn't be worried about their cake being handled properly and they should be able to trust a venue to handle food! This new addition to Buttercream's delivery makes me really happy and while it can't change the experience from my wedding day, it does make me feel better about recommending this vendor! Sadly, I have to admit that I was disappointed with our experience with Buttercream Bake Shop.
We spent close to $1,200 on our cake. The design was beautiful. You should know that for a beautifully designed fondant cake, you will be paying for a "dummy" cake and sheet cake will be served to the guests.
I was okay with this idea until I tasted a guest's slice. I don't know whether to blame Buttercream or the venue (don't worry this is mentioned in their review as well). The slice that I cut into as the bride was perfect! I later tasted the slice of cake that one of my bridesmaid's didn't want. It was hard, dry, and such a disappointment. I would never ever serve that quality of cake to a guest in my own home and I was so disappointed. I had raved for months about hiring this bakery.
A tasting costs $15 and is by appointment. They treat you well, listen to what you want, and the cake at the tasting was wonderful! We ate them so quickly because those slices were delicious. Definitely go for the tasting but, if you decide to go with the fondant design and end up serving your guests sheet cake, make sure you ensure delivery with enough time that the cake isn't dry for your guests.

I promise that you will not find a more delicious wedding cake...anywhere!! We chose a "peekaboo" cake and it was incredibly beautiful. They were super easy to work with, gave me advice when I was considering purchasing a wedding cake stand, and were very prompt with email replies and scheduling our tasting.

They were super accommodating to our laid-back style (we had strong opinions on taste but basically gave them carte blanche on design), and the cake arrived on time and looked beautiful. And again, it was so yummy--I bake a lot and have really high standards for baked and this cake blew me away. Also, it was very affordable for DC!

We booked Buttercream/Tiffany for our wedding cake and could not be happier. When we went for our tasting and had a very hard time determining what flavors to go with because they were all delicious! We ended up going with two different flavors for the different tiers of the cake, lemon cake w/ raspberry Chambord buttercream and apple cake with pear compote and salted caramel buttercream. Everyone kept commenting on how delicious and tasty the cake was and how they never had a wedding cake that tasted that good. The design was also perfect and we were very happy with our services. We were even offered free delivery since we found out that our venue was just down the street from Tiffany's home. We cannot wait to freeze it and continue to taste it over the next few anniversaries! We highly recommend Tiffany!
