This is a hidden gem in Buffalo for weddings. Having everything in the same place made the day go smoothly and was enjoyable for us and the guests.
Delicious food, outstanding decor and an intimate setting to share with your guests that you can't find everywhere else.

The Butler Mansion (officially called the Jacobs Executive Development Center and owned by UB) is definitely a hidden gem in Buffalo. I believe it can only accommodate 80 or so people for dinner, so our 50-guest wedding was a perfect fit. We got married on the lawn, had our cocktail hour by the beautiful fountain, and then had dinner inside. There's a room upstairs for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in and plenty of beautiful photo opportunities. The atrium was perfect as a dance floor and the doors opened up to the steps outside where guests went to take a break from dancing and catch some fresh air.

Our day-of coordinator was Kim from Three Pillars catering (also part of UB) and she was wonderful. She was very responsive and flexible and allowed us to customize our dinner(turned it into a buffet and added a bunch of stuff). She was on hand to take care of the other vendors and everything went smoothly.

It is not a cheap location, but if you are having a small wedding and want a quality experience, definitely look into the Butler Mansion.

This venue is incredible. People who grew up in Buffalo as well as my guests from out of town were shocked at its historic beauty. The mansion itself, and the courtyard with fountain, gardens...it was perfectly elegant.

Kim helped us plan our event there, select our menu, and really iron out all the details. She was amazing. The entire staff was professional and so good at their jobs that you barely even noticed anyone there-yet everything was taken care of and perfect.

This venue, and its staff, are fantastic!

Butler mansion is actually owned by UB and is a beautiful place to get married. I wish we had more time to spend there, but everything went so fast, and being the groom, I was unable to fully enjoy its wonders. It boasts old time hand made wood work and very well kept grounds along with a large fountain for the guests to enjoy. Our wedding was planned for the peak of fall foliage, although this year was so weird we ended up over a week before the peak.
The staff at the mansion made sure everything went as smoothly as possible for the whole night. Our event leader was Kim and she made every effort to make sure we were happy. The price may seem steep, but it really isnt too bad. The wedding venue can hold I think a maximum of 100-120 people inside, but a wedding of 80 is perfect. It is one of the fewer vendors who can still provide the best service, rooms, etc for such a small wedding as ours. I would definitely look at this place as a wedding venue if your wedding is smaller, you want an excellent old time feel to the day, and are looking for great service.

The Butler Mansion is Beautiful!!!! I cant say enough about how perfectly everything turned out on the day of. The communication was not the best with the banquet manager Kim. You are never actually given any type of contact information for her so any question that you may need answered you have to email to a generic email box and she responds in 2-5 business days. A personal email/ extension would have been amazing. That was my only problem with it and that's not really that big of a deal.

The venue is great, and the food was amazing. The food was as good as it was at the tasting and everyone is still talking about it.

To clarify, for the venue itself I give 5 out of 5 stars. The building is absolutely beautiful! We had an amazing time at our reception. The food was good, although it was not the same exact thing we had at our tasting, which was odd.
Our biggest issue was communication before the wedding, we had a really time getting a hold of anyone. We really only communicated by email, and usually responses took at least a week. We had a phone number to call but it always went to voicemail. It just made the planning process A LOT more stressful than it needed to be, constantly sitting around waiting for responses about key questions that put a hold on going ahead with other plans with other vendors, such as ordering invitations and menus. If it weren't for Andrea at Sitting Pretty who did our linens, chair covers, etc, I feel like I would have been lost. She helped us more with the order of events for the night than our catering manager. We could just tell that the catering manager didn't like us very much, which is fine, we still had a great time, it was just unfortunate considering how great the venue is!
However the servers and bartenders the night of the wedding were very professional, accommodating and on top of things, so the night did go smoothly.
