Boo Cat Club is a beautiful space that helped us foster such a unique and intimate experience for our reception. We held our ceremony elsewhere, then came to Boo Cat for a happy hour and full reception. We loved how the different rooms created different atmospheres for spending time with our guests, from the balcony overlooking the dance floor, to the spacious and classic dining room, to the couches and bar space near the fireplaces. We especially appreciated that the venue was standalone, and not attached to another restaurant or business. So many of our guests told us how much they loved the venue, and how comfortable they felt through the night.

Jess was wonderful to work with in the months leading up to our wedding, and went above and beyond to make this a memorable day. We had zero issues with our vendors having access to the venue and getting setup and prepared for the night. All in all, the Boo Cat club truly met and exceeded all of our expectations.

This venue was a dream! Clean, well maintained, beautiful, the list goes on… Jess was absolutely amazing! She was helpful, knowledgeable, understanding, responsive, I don’t know what I would have done without all her help. We are so happy to have made the choice to celebrate our wedding day at the Boo Cat Club. We had both the ceremony and reception here, all in different rooms, and it was perfect. Everyone complimented the venue and how amazing it was to have everything all in one place. The drinks were delicious and the bartender was so hospitable. I would recommend this venue to anyone.

Boo Cat Club is one of the coolest venues in St. Louis, and our guest really enjoyed moving from room to room from the ceremony to dinner to dancing. The historic architecture looked amazing and everyone at Boo Cat was a joy to work with and super responsive. Since we booked our wedding really early, I spent over a year corresponding with the venue coordinator, hashing out details, then changing them. They were really accommodating and easy to communicate with. There were a few glitches with the internal sound system on the day of, but nothing to serious. All and all, the day was pretty perfect. We also opted to use their in-house day-of planner and that was super helpful in keeping my stress levels down! If you're looking for a one-stop venue with character, look no further!

Wow, wow, wow--is all I can say about this space. My husband, Zach, and I got married November 11, 2017 and our reception was hosted at the Boo Cat. From the very start, I fell in love with the layout, which was so unique and beautiful. Both Kelly and Steve were amazing to work with--they answered all of my questions and communication was amazing. We were able to utilize all of the spaces in the Boo Cat and maximize the room we had, and our guests all had a great time. My vision for the reception played out perfectly, and everyone at the Boo Cat Club was so helpful and responsive. Our wedding was so beautiful and unique; our guests have been raving about it for weeks! I truly cannot say enough great things about The Boo Cat Club!

My husband and I absolutely loved our wedding at the Boo Cat Club. The space itself is gorgeous and incredibly versatile. The boo cat club is such a unique space that I couldn't pass it up. I wanted my ceremony and reception at once space and the different levels and rooms of the boo cat club kept the guests interested throughout the night. The space had historic detail which allowed for less decorating on my part. The staff was friendly and helpful from the day of booking until the day of our wedding. It is really the perfect venue

We are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and we decided to renew our vows in a ceremony and reception since we never had one the first time around. I spoke with Erinn and Kelly and both ladies we very welcoming and very mindful of what I had in mind and even gave some great advice. I cannot wait till September! The Boo Cat Club is a gem! Very unique and spacious! I knew this was the venue as soon as we walked in the door. Very impressive!

Having our wedding at The Boo Cat Club was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. The space is gorgeous and so versatile. With about 4 different "areas" to play with, it was fun moving our guests around The Boo Cat Club for a different feel for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. Our guests enjoyed exploring the space during our wedding as well! As a bonus for me, a definitively non-DIY bride, the natural beauty, elegance, and "wow" factor of The Boo Cat Club made decor simple and easy - all we needed were some candles and flowers to make the space pop!

Not only is the space wonderful, but I couldn't have asked for a better Event Coordinator in Kelly. She is clearly an events-pro who is calm, organized, and excellent at communication. Kelly was always available for me, continuously checked in with me, and had great ideas for making our wedding special. Having her on board allowed me to relax at the wedding because I knew that she would keep things moving smoothly.

We loved The Boo Cat Club!

We had a wonderful experience with Boo Cat. Everything went smoothly and the planners/coordinators there are extremely friendly and helpful!

First, let me start by saying the Boo Cat is gorgeous. My warning is not to trust that you can depend on their wedding coordinator the day of your wedding. This owner has 3 venues, and regardless of who you’ve been meeting with in preparation for the past 18 months, that coordinator person may be pulled to another venue the day of your wedding, without notice or apology. This happened to us, and it was horribly disruptive to all the detail we had planned so carefully in advance. They over promise and under deliver—tho the venue is gorgeous enough to speak for itself. Don’t be fooled like we were. The Boo Cat staff are not committed to your event. The doors will be open and the lights on, that’s it. With a consistent event rep, the price was good. Given the actual experience, Boo Cat is over priced.

My husband and I got married on 10/7/2023 at Boo Cat Club.
The two stars are for the physical location. It’s truly a unique space and a cool way for a wedding venue to host a ceremony and reception, while still feeling like you’re in different spaces. The rentals they offer are beautiful, and we got so many comments on how beautiful our wedding was.

However, unfortunately that’s the end of our positive experience.
In terms of the venue itself, there are a lot of additional costs and limited hours that make it kind of a pain to plan a full wedding. The area itself, although restored, isn’t that well kept when you really take a look – the ballroom floors are scuffed heavily and the outdoor foliage is not taken care of.

We also had issues with the coordinators that were provided through Boo Cat when it came to communication. In the summer, our coordinator left Boo Cat and we were not informed – the only way we knew we had a new coordinator was two months later when I figured it out from my caterer and then emailed the right person trying to schedule a venue visit. Then, we found out the person who was our new coordinator wouldn't even be our day of coordinator.

Then, we had concerns the day of the wedding. First, my husband was kicked out of the groom’s lounge two hours early because Brenden the manager had told catering they could set up there – the day of coordinator Marissa didn’t advocate for my husband when she realized what had happened, but rather put his and his party’s stuff in a closet and he was left wandering the building until the ceremony. We did receive a refund from Boo Cat for this error.

In addition, 6 of the cars parked by Boo Cat’s complimentary valet service were broken into at 4:30pm across the street from the venue. We completely recognize that this was a crime, and that it has not happened in the past at Boo Cat per their reports. Additionally, we recognize the valet is a separate entity.
However, the way the situation was handled felt as though we were being bamboozled, honestly. Our guests were told the valet company would cover it, but then were told Boo Cat was responsible because they declined security options with the valet. Then, come Monday morning, Amy from Boo Cat says that they aren’t responsible and rather than advocate for us to communicate with the valet company, they simply said that was all they could do. they require in their contract that our vendors have liability insurance to cover any damages, and yet their valet company didn’t seem to have that and Boo Cat “didn’t have coverage” in their own insurance.

Throughout all of this, Boo Cat never was proactive in helping us- Marissa didn't help with a thing that night, and we had to reach out to Brenden. We received a refund for “issues with the venue”, but none of the information we actually needed to rectify this for our guests like insurance information and the valet contract that we requested. Amy also made us give the number we wanted for the refund, rather than be transparent about what they thought was appropriate (we have seen more transparency with other vendors). Additionally, she has given us no confirmation or reassurance that they will take steps to prevent this in the future like security cameras, hiring security through the valet company, etc. I hope that they respond to this with information about steps they are taking to improve security and safety.

TLDR: My recommendation? Avoid Boo Cat – our experience was that they cared more about the aesthetics of the venue rather than the actual experience of hosting a wedding given the limitations, the extra charges for basically anything regarding the venue, the lack of communication, and the difficulties navigating expected issues or mistakes. The two vendors that came to us through them (catering, their preferred caterer, and valet which we could not change) were the two vendors that made our night a mess. They apologized for our experience and gave us a refund, but we left with a bad taste in our mouth and I genuinely regret hosting our wedding with them.
