Timeless, beautiful photos and an amazing experience working with Rob!

I cannot recommend Rob and Franco highly enough as a team. Our photographer was one of the most important investments for our wedding and I am confident that we could not have made a better choice than Rob, who we worked with for both our engagement session and the day of the wedding. Rob's photos are honestly more like art- he has an incredible eye for beauty and captured the most stunning angles throughout the entire day. As we were looking through we honestly couldn't believe it was us in some of the pictures! While you can fully trust that he will capture every photo you might be looking for on your wedding day, we really appreciated that he also asked for our can't-miss shots and was willing to work with some of our creative suggestions as well (including some suggestions on the day of!). To top it off, Rob and Franco are the absolute nicest and easiest people to work with. Our family and bridal party loved working with them, and we got so many comments on how friendly our photographers were. They put us at ease in every shot. Although his photos truly speak for themselves in how incredible they are, we could not recommend them more highly.

So very grateful to work with the incredibly talented Bonnie Sen!

Bonnie and her husband Tom were an absolute JOY to work with. From the get go they were not only warm and personable, but also organized and detail oriented. They somehow got us to loosen up during our cold, windy engagement shoot and it showed through in the gorgeous photos that resulted. We knew then that we were in supremely talented hands. The wedding itself had a lot of moving parts and a huge (excitable) guest list and Bonnie, being her poised, charming self handled all the beautiful chaos of an Indian wedding perfectly. She could appreciate the importance of our family to us and there were so many cultural elements that we didn't even have to explain, she just got it. I can't explain how special that was. Bonnie and Tom captured the energy, beauty and love of our wedding better than we could have ever hoped for. So grateful for their work!

Robert Aveau for Bonnie Sen- Stunning Photos & Incredibly Lovely Team

After rescheduling our wedding date due to covid and finding out our original photographer was not available on our new date, we were on the search again for a new photographer, which brought me to Bonnie Sen Photography. Being located in DC, Bonnie's husband Tom set us up with their DC photographer, Rob. Rob and Tom were a joy - responsive, professional, genuine, and extremely flexible based on our custom needs and budget. In one phone call I was ready to move forward with the team, and seeing Rob's full galleries sealed the deal. Right as we were about to sign on with Robert Aveau as our photographer, our circumstances changed and our original photographer was able to accommodate our new date after all, and I felt like I was breaking up with someone I still loved when I had to break the news to Tom and Rob! With all that said, I felt the need to write a review because Tom and Rob could not have been more approachable, down to earth, and lovely to work with in a stressful time. Rob- I'll be calling you back the next time I have a life event worthy of your timeless, stunning photos with amazing light and warmth. Until then, I'll like every photo you ever post on Instagram. Thanks again team.

Professional & continuing to enjoy photos & her work

Working with Bonnie and her husband and Tom was a delight on one of the best (& most stressful) days of our lives. We had looked at numerous other photographers in the area and were fortunate to have found Bonnie. From our first time meeting her up to the wedding day, she was helpful and so calm. We have so many beautiful photos from our wedding day which capture so many emotions and moments not only between us but with our family and friends on one of the most important days. Choosing Bonnie Sen to be our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions I made in my wedding planning. From the start it was very easy to work with her, she was very responsive and was always happy to help no matter what our question was. Bonnie is incredibly talented and has an eye for unique photographs that capture the story of the day. The photos turned out to be absolutely stunning, and we still have difficulty picking our favorites. Throughout the chaos of wedding planning, working with Bonnie was a stress-free process, and we now have an incredible set of pictures to remember the day forever. Cannot recommend her enough!!

Bonnie was a joy to work with! I was so excited to find such a talented photographer for my engagement and wedding pictures and I couldn't be happier with the pictures that I got back. Every picture was of great quality and Bonnie did a great job of capturing the candid moments and keeping me on track when it came to getting all the family and bridal party pictures I wanted, while still making sure to capture the rest of our special day. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer and I don't think I could have gotten any better pictures than I did. Thank you such much Bonnie for capturing our special day so wonderfully!

Bonnie was absolutely wonderful to work with! Both my husband and I work in architecture and it became very important for our shared love of our field to come through in all aspects of our wedding. So when we started looking for photographers, we were looking for someone who would capture all of the great textural qualities and details that were not only apart of our wedding but also our historical venue. Bonnie was perfect! From our first meeting we felt that she truly understood the look and feel we were going for. She was wonderful to communicate with and so responsive. On the day of, I know that she had everything well in hand and would get some absolutely beautiful photos for us. She handled guests and requests with ease and was able to keep to the schedule perfectly without sacrificing shots. Bonnie even ventured into an old, abandoned power plant (probably filled with tetanus) with us when we asked to shots there (the resulting photos were incredible). She will go above and beyond and delivers absolutely beautiful photographs! We loved working with you and would do it again in a heartbeat.

What else do I have to say except; BEST PHOTOGRAPHER EVER. Bonnie has that creative/modern eye I was looking for. Her pictures are not just your basic wedding pictures, she captures each moment so beautifully. Not only is she creative, but she is so laid back, trustworthy, and caring. Absolutely a delight to work with! My fiance and I live in San Diego and are having our wedding locally, but had planned a trip to the DC area to visit some extended family. While we already had selected another photographer for our wedding and a local engagement session, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get some totally unique and amazing photos during a mid-Atlantic autumn! Being a photographer myself I am VERY particular; I researched approx. 20-30 different photographers before I was lucky enough to find Bonnie. We settled on a day for the shoot, with little flexibility on our end since we were only visiting... and wouldn't you know it, when the day came... it RAINED! But Bonnie was so flexible, and moved out session to the next day... Which was absolutely perfect! During our shoot, she was so friendly and approachable. I'm used to being behind the camera, not in front of it, but she really made us feel at ease. Her turn around was really fast, especially given it was her busy season, we got our gallery link in less than 3 weeks and our disk in the mail within a week from that! And did I mention how beautiful the photos turned out!?!?!?! So excited to use these for our save the dates! If our wedding was in DC, Bonnie would definitely have been out photographer... highly recommend!

Bonnie was our photographer for both our engagement shoot and wedding. My husband and I are so pleased with the photos. I think she captured some great moments and I love some of our candid shots. We had a lot of detail and overall I think Bonnie captured most of it (i mean we had a lot of stuff). Bonnie had an assistant who was also great. Both of them were very professional. Bonnie also knew ahead of time I really wanted to submit these photos to wedding blogs, because I think our details were really cool (im sure every bride thinks this), but she is really willing to work with me to try and get our wedding featured which is exciting. I can't wait to print these and get them up on our walls!!

We would give Bonnie a 6 if we could. Seriously.

We knew that we wanted a good photographer for our wedding, and Bonnie is worth every penny we paid. We loved her work from her website, and she was very friendly and easy to work with right from the get go, without being overly fawning/fussy about the process. In spite of a rough day (weather-wise), she gave us great engagement snaps. As for the wedding itself, we had an all day affair, with both Jewish and Hindu ceremonies.
1. She was detail-oriented, which we loved (down to asking us if there were people who should not be photographed together, etc).
2. She captured candid shots just like we wanted, and did a great job with the formal photos (we had many requirements in a relatively short time. She and her assistant were very good at keeping things on time).
3. She was completely invisible during the ceremonies. Honestly, we barely remember seeing her. Yet she was obviously there, and shot great snaps of every important bit (of which there were many in both ceremonies) throughout the 8 hour day.
4. She brought an assistant (yes, this is WELL worth it), and together they captured every aspect of the event.
5. Most importantly, she managed to capture the emotion and the energy of our wedding. It is hard not to relive the magic of our wedding when we peruse her photos...

Overall, Bonnie is an awesome person to work with, and has a very impressive touch. Her sense of space and lighting is great (must be her architectural background :) ) and her ability to get emotion from an image sets her apart from other photographers. If you want a great set of memories from your event, Bonnie is the person to go to!

If you're looking for an incredible wedding photographer, look no further!

My Husband and I were VERY pleased with our choice of hiring Bonnie as our wedding photographer. She is very easy to work with and not to mention extremely talented!! She wants to give you a high quality product and definitely delivers one. She met with us and listened to how our wedding was going to go, and what we would like to see in the photographs. She surpassed our expectations with doing what we asked along with adding in her own artistic eye.

Bonnie Sen can capture the magic and not just the memories. As the mother of the groom, I was watching everything unfold and wondering if it was even possible to catch it all in pictures. There was nothing missed. Bonnie seemed to be everywhere snapping but not in a way that was pushy. She captured the feeling of the event as well as the individual moments. My artistic eye is not easily satisfied, but Bonnie excelled at her craft, I need not have worried. I would most gladly recommend Bonnie in a heartbeat to any bride looking to have a joyous moment captured in photos. Loved the video montage with music. Fabulous!

Bonnie was our photographer for our wedding in March, and I could not be any more happy that we chose her! I researched for months to find the best photographer, and she is definitely all that I was looking for, and way way more!

She is not only an amazingly talented photographer, but was so professional and organized throughout the whole planning process! She came and met up with me near my workplace (so convenient!) to go over everything, show me her photography style, and just talk about what I was looking for. From then on, I knew that she knew exactly what I wanted.

She also has an artistic vision that many other photographers are lacking. Every single photo that she took looks so perfect, like out of a magazine. Pretty blurred backgrounds and lighting, awesome dancing pictures, perfect ceremony pictures, and all the little details at our wedding like our save the dates/invitations, flowers, etc.. She really captured it all.. I think all the pictures came out so great because she would tell us exactly what to do with our hands, bodies, etc.. Her direction and guidance really made the pictures look great. And on top of it all, she went above and beyond by making us a cute video with our pictures in it, and music playing that was the song we walked out of the church to.

I cannot recommend her enough. Stop your searching and researching, and listen to someone who knows that this is the best photographer you will find.

As many of you may know, looking for the right wedding photographer who understands your vision is a daunting experience. My husband and I spent several hours combing through wedding websites, when finally we came across Bonnie on WeddingWire. As we started to peruse her website & blog, we knew instantly Bonnie was something special and we immediately connected with her. Not only did we get along really well with Bonnie, we were excited by her unique style of capturing those intimate, candid moments. Leading up to the wedding, Bonnie made us feel comfortable and confident that she and her fabulous assistant, Maia, would capture those moments for us. On the day of our wedding, Bonnie was incredibly professional, friendly, fun, laid-back and always made us feel at ease. She made a big impression on us and all our guests…including our flower girl, Grace – a 2 ½ year old who was mesmerized by Bonnie and followed her around with her Dad’s camera all night, trying to copy Bonnie’s every move! Bonnie’s photos of our wedding were PERFECTION. They were more amazing than we could have ever imagined. Looking at the photos is like reliving the day all over again. Bonnie captured every moment – especially, the many emotions throughout the day. We were absolutely thrilled. Bonnie by far exceeded our expectations. ***SHE IS A MUST HAVE!!***

Bonnie was amazing to work with leading up to our wedding and on the big day! During our engagement session, there were a lot of elements to work around (two unruly dogs and chilly weather), but our photos turned out perfectly. Somehow Bonnie made us look relaxed and natural, and her flexibility in location changes during the session resulted in some of our favorite photos. On our wedding day, Bonnie and her assistant showed up on time with big smiles ready to capture all of the details we had discussed in previous meetings. The photos turned out great, and we had more than enough options to choose from in picking our favorites for prints and albums! Bonnie took a variety of formal and informal shots, well-composed portraits, and, most importantly, captured the emotion of the day beautifully. I forgot to grab Bonnie for a few shots that I'd wanted during the reception (i.e. cocktail hour details and photos with each of our tables), but ultimately, the photos that she delivered exceeded our expectations. She is a true artist, and I will cherish the beautiful memories captured in our engagement and wedding photos forever. Thanks for everything, Bonnie!

Bonnie is great! Very professional and creative. We got our photos (online album and CD!) from our rehearsal dinner back very quickly too. I would definitley reccommend Bonnie for a Rehearsal dinner or Wedding!

Bonnie took our Engagement photos for us. She made us feel very comfortable and was able to capture the exact type of shots we were looking for. She was very flexible and easy going, especially when the location we chose to meet was in the middle of the Cherry Blossom 10 miler! We ended up shooting at a different location first then came back later. I would highly recommend using Bonnie for Engagement or Wedding photos.

We hired Bonnie Sen for our indoor ceremony and reception at the Athenaeum in Old Town Alexandria, VA. My husband found her, and I'm so very lucky he did!

I'm most impressed with the perspective of Bonnie's images. She captured our day through the eyes of a friend - our photos are of people mingling, friends catching up, Fred making me laugh, and the love we have for our little girl. The photos are intimate and personal, which is exactly what I wanted in a photographer.

Bonnie was incredibly responsive in all of her communications. We had few requests but wow, she went above and beyond on our wedding day. Our daughter (16 months old) was NOT in the best form, but Bonnie and her assistant rolled with all of the punches. They caught an amazing set of shots, and on top of that, pushed the stroller, caught our girl as she tried to run into the street, and even ran to CVS for baby Tylenol. Bonnie's professionalism speaks in her actions and work, and we felt that in all of our interactions with her.

On a side note... Bonnie and Maia were beyond flexible. With intense heat the day of our wedding, they found comfortable setting for our photos. When our little girl was uncooperative, they said "no problem!" and let us attend to her needs. And with ALL of these circumstance, I can tell you that our photos are wonderful! Bonnie was absolutely wonderful to work with and the best deal in town! She met us at the wedding venue a few weeks before we got married and helped us come up with photo ideas. During the day of the wedding she arrived early and was waiting for us and took all the shots that we previously discussed. I got a lot of compliments about Bonnie from our wedding guests. Definitely recommend Bonnie to anyone looking for a great photographer for any special event!

Bonnie was amazing to work with! I wasn't quite sure what I wanted in a photographer but after seeing the breadth of her style and work I was sold! All her work is so fresh, joyful and full of life. Before deciding on Bonnie Sen Creative, we looked at many other photographer's portfolios but felt that their pictures were static and uninspiring. Then we discovered Bonnie. With her architecture background, Bonnie sees things from another perspective. Her professionalism is unwavering, and her composure is calming on what could be a stressfull day. I can say with no hesitation that Bonnie was the best vendor I picked for my wedding. Bonnie was referred to me by a friend that was getting married a few months after I got engaged. Bonnie and I met coffee-- where we discussed my wedding vision and our mutual love for film.

When we did our engagement photos, Bonnie helped me select a few locations that were both romantic and historical. While I was awkward during the session (I hate having my photo taken), my husband felt natural and comfortable with her. She gave me a lot of simple suggestions and the end results were more than we could ever have imagined. There were so many great photos that it was hard to pick which to frame.

A brides worst nightmare occurred 3 weeks before our wedding--my venue closed. Bonnie was the second vendor I called and quick to help. Through my tears, she assured me everything would be okay and immediately posted on her social media sites that her bride needed a venue for our wedding date. Because of this, we were able to find one of the only venues in DC that wasn't booked and had everything confirmed with the new site within days. She was a life saver.

On my wedding day, she and her assistant were both professional and flexible. She navigated effortlessly through a new venue (our walk through had been at the old venue) and some relatives with strong personalities, both of which were things I was concerned about. I know the photos will be amazing, and we cannot wait to see them!

Bonnie is terrific! She's very sweet, very professional and incredibly easy to work with. She is also a great value! We started working with her about 8 months before our wedding when she did our engagement photos. She was willing to travel and she really puts you at ease, which I think was key to making the photos come out well! She is also recently married, so she knows exactly what you're going through. During the wedding, she and her assistant were fantastic - not intrusive, but able to give us instructions on the cake cutting when we needed it. I would absolutely recommend her to friends and family!

Bonnie Sen was a pleasure to work with as our wedding photographer. When we first met her for our engagement shoot, she immediately made us feel comfortable and at ease being on camera since it was the first time we’d had our pictures taken professionally. During the entire wedding day, Bonnie and her team were professional and on top of the schedule, ensuring she captured all of the photos on her shot list but careful not to be in the way of the guests. We initially chose Bonnie because of the way she is able to capture the energy and people during the wedding, as well as the small details like invitations and décor, and she did not disappoint with our wedding. Our biggest regret was not hiring her extra time at the end of the night to capture even more photos of us having fun and dancing with family and friends!

We hired Bonnie for our Korean wedding and also for an engagement shoot. The engagement photos were very repetitive without creativity and the ceremony photos were of the greatest disappointment. Many photos were dark, framed incorrectly, and did not showcase the best moments. Her photography/editing shows she does not have an experienced eye. To make it worse, she misplaced 1 essential portrait shot of our families. We feel she lacks creativity and the overall know-how to give direction to get optimal shots.

Her work ethic during both our sessions was not the best. At times, we felt as if she were running down the time. Also, during her contracted time for the ceremony, there was some downtime that she used to talk to guests instead of taking more shots. When I asked her about this, she stated she did not want to be rude, however, as a paying customer, I do not feel it is a photographer's job to spend 15 minutes making conversation instead of working.

Looking back, we only wish we had asked to see full galleries showcasing her entire portfolio. In the end, we could not justify the cost for the photos she took. For someone who is relatively new, the price she charges does not accurately reflect the finished product. She even admitted to rushing the photographs when I expressed my displeasure. In addition, she was very defensive and unprofessional in her email replying to my issues and was not very responsive. While we did appreciate that Bonnie was eventually willing to give us a partial refund and the unedited photos, the work was still unsatisfactory. Almost all the photos were taken with incorrect exposure and eventually had to all be post-processed again privately. Given that we could do this all over again, we would have chosen a different photographer.
