Wedding coordinator: Itzel Perez is absolutely WONDERFUL. We met just about every month for the past 12 months finalizing every detail… but in an organized and stress-free way. Each month we would discuss a detail and lock it in on a shared Google document. Even when I wanted to change things last minute, Itzel was so professional and understanding about everything. She offered insight when I wasn’t quite sure about specific details and easily worked around our schedules for Zoom meetings. On the day of the wedding, Itzel checked in to see how we were doing, went over any last minute changes, and made everything so flawless. I cannot recommend her enough!
Venue: Our original plan was to have the venue be the main “décor” so we didn’t have to go wild with decorations. Honestly, it paid off. The setting at Seaside is so gorgeous! We loved the open floor plan with just a beach and the ocean. We loved Paamul as well, but it looked very similar to our resort so we wanted our guests to feel like they were leaving the resort for another exceptionally beautiful property. Style Me went above and beyond with our floral decor as well. I was BLOWN AWAY! I also loved the bridal suite better at Seaside… and the entrance into the property. The bathrooms are also more updated. Some brides have been worried about the hotel next door but we never had any issues. I honestly forgot that it was even there. I saw one person in the ocean during our cocktail hour but they stayed on their side. Note: there is no Wi-Fi at this location so be prepared to have very minimal/no phone connection.
Food/drinks: I don’t remember all of our cocktail hour food but I do remember the ceviche. BEST CEVICHE I HAVE EVER HAD! Our dinner options were the ricotta raviolis and beef medallions. Both options were exceptional! Guests are still talking about the food. We opted for dessert instead of a cake and we chose tiramisu. I actually think it was better at our wedding than it was when we went to our tasting. I am very sad that I wasn’t able to eat all my dessert. I had about two bites and then was pulled away somewhere else. Our welcome drink was a Cantarito (basically a Paloma in a terra cotta cup) and I am VERY sad that I didn’t get to try it! People literally RAVED about it. We had Passion Fruit Margaritas and Watermelon Mojitos as our signature drinks. Biggest complaint is that I didn’t drink enough cocktails. I wanted one of each! I should have had someone bring me drinks but there was so much going on that I didn’t sit still for long enough. What I wasn’t expecting was shots being served throughout the night. That was a nice touch! At one point I had to pawn some shots off haha
DJ: We kept the in-house DJ and he was fantastic! Our chosen music was played without any hiccups and he kept the party going. We did allow song requests and I think that helped the DJ hone in on our type of genre/vibe. EVERYONE was dancing. The DJ was a VIBE and we were partying all night!
Extras: We had a LOT of extras. We did the bus photobooth (100% worth it! We even got a link to all our pictures after the wedding!), coconut water as a welcome drink option (also sad I didn’t get one of these!), churro cart (1000% worth it), water drums & dancers (our guests were shook and, man, was that a BLAST), mariachi band (we missed this because we were doing photos during cocktail hour but this was also raved about), and a last min cigar roller (literally… Itzel was able to make this happen for us with 24 hours notice!) At one point, people said they didn’t want to leave because things kept happening and they didn’t want to miss out. These extras were all money WELL spent! 12/10 recommend.
Overall: Choosing to have our wedding at Blue Venado was THE BEST DECISION we’ve ever made. We loved the privacy, zero vendor fees, and ability to tailor our package to our needs. Despite only having 45 guests, we chose the All In package so we didn’t have to worry about add-ons. Going back, I would still make that choice. Itzel was transparent about our total cost anytime we asked and she turned my vague ideas into a dream wedding. The ENTIRE staff at BV was incredibly professional, accommodating, and hard working. We watched them chopping up leaves and flowers for our arches and hoisting our giant palapa centerpiece with ease. All of our guests still rave about how much fun they had, how great the food was, and how many times they tried to sit down to catch their breath but then the DJ put on another great song. We couldn’t have been happier with Blue Venado Weddings – Pammul for our special day in December. Our wedding day was absolutely everything I had hoped for, and I truly couldn’t have done it without Yara.
Planning a wedding in Mexico while living in New York isn’t easy, but Yara completely understood my vision and brought it to life. Through shipping issues and all my anxious questions, she was consistently supportive, responsive, and reassuring. She also provided fantastic vendor recommendations and made sure every detail was in place—we even had a photo booth and a churro cart, which our guests loved!
On the day of the wedding, Yara and her team took incredible care of us. Everything ran smoothly, we felt no stress or hiccups, and we were able to fully enjoy every moment. Our guests had an amazing time, and it truly was one of the best days of our lives.
We can’t recommend Blue Venado and Yara enough to any couple considering a wedding in the Riviera Maya / Playa del Carmen.

We got married at Blue Venado Paamul on February 6, 2026 with 71 guests, and it was honestly everything we hoped for and more.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning. The beach, palm trees, and overall layout create such a beautiful, private setting that you don’t need to go overboard on décor. It felt intimate but still spacious, and our guest count felt perfect for the space.
From a planning perspective, communication earlier on could have been a bit more proactive. I didn’t need constant communication but can understand that other brides might need more… in the final month everything came together seamlessly. On the wedding day, our coordinator Yara was incredible. She handled every detail, kept everything on schedule, and made it so I didn’t have to think about anything except enjoying the day. I say this with every intention, Yara was pivotal in making my wedding day the best day of my life.
The execution was flawless. The ceremony and reception flowed perfectly, the staff were attentive (no one ever had an empty drink), and the overall service felt very high quality.
The food and drinks were also a highlight. We did a custom Indian menu along with a variety of cocktail hour appetizers and a late-night snack, and our guests are still talking about how good everything was.
The in-house DJ was another standout. He handled ceremony timing perfectly and kept the dance floor full all night without needing much direction.
Overall, Blue Venado delivered an incredible experience. It’s a naturally beautiful venue with a team that truly knows how to execute a wedding day smoothly. I would absolutely recommend it to any couple considering a destination wedding in Mexico. -

Like any destination wedding, we had to place a lot of trust in photos and reviews when making our decision. If you’re on the fence, please trust me when I say: go with Blue Venado.
What we quickly learned throughout the planning process is that they truly know what they’re doing—and you can confidently enjoy the ride. You share your vision, preferences, and details, and somehow they make it even better than you imagined.
We were beyond happy with the final result. The venue absolutely exceeded our expectations, and the entire day felt seamless and magical. A special shoutout to our coordinator Yara, who went above and beyond to make our wedding day unforgettable.
The entire staff was phenomenal, and our guests are still talking about how incredible everything was. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! -

Blue Venado exceeded our expectations for what a wedding could be. We were also thrilled to have worked with our amazing wedding planner Yara, as well as Miranda from Style Me (their sister decorating company). The two of them were organized and thoughtful, always anticipating our needs and asking questions to ensure every detail was taken into account. The venue itself was stunning; the styling was executed nearly perfectly according to our vision; the food was surprisingly good; the day itself was organized excellently by Yara; the staff were professional and kind. My spouse is also a particular person with extremely high standards--and even she didn't have one bad thing to say about how our wedding turned out. We rarely write glowing reviews, but this one had to be said. Have your wedding with Blue Venado! -

We were referred to Blue Venado by our wedding planner and we are so happy we decided to go with her recommendation because this location was truly beautiful! Aside from the majestic setting, the other things we loved about Blue Venado were the privacy of the venue and how there were no vendor fees as long as we used their catering service (which was fantastic)! Chef Angel is an amazing chef, us and all of our guests said the food was delicious. Our guests dietary restrictions and allergies were perfectly accommodated. Chef Angel was also able to add a small wedding cake for a very good price! The servers were all really friendly and attentive. I wish I remembered our bartender's name because she was really fun and somehow kept up with all of the drink orders all night. My husband and I don't recall seeing anyone waiting for a drink! She was on fire! The venue speaks for itself in the photos and is absolutely breathtaking! One thing you can't see in the photos is the beach at Paamul is actually imported sand over a hard surface so you can comfortably wear heels without sinking into the sand. I rarely wear heels but I wore heels at various photo locations around the venue for most of the day and had no issues. This might seem like a small detail, but it was a huge bonus point for me since I can barely walk in sand under normal circumstances, let alone with heels on. -

Blue Venado Paamul was amazing! It was the perfect day. The staff were great, it was such a beautiful venue I can’t say enough good things! Everyone raved about how great the food was as well from the cocktail hour snacks to the filet mignon at dinner, and the churros everything was wonderful. Highly recommend! My coordinator Chris was the BEST and made everything run so smooth, so attentive and made my vision come to life! -

We had our wedding at Blue Venado Paamul, and it was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The venue itself is breathtaking—a private, beachfront paradise that felt like it was made just for us and our loved ones.
Our wedding planner, Sofia, was phenomenal. She went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect. Her professionalism, creativity, and calming presence made the planning process a breeze. She truly made us feel like our dream wedding was her top priority, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food and drinks were incredible. All our guests couldn’t stop raving about how beautiful and seamless the day was.

We had our wedding at Blue Venado Paamul at the beginning of July. Throughout the process we worked with Chris, who was a fantastic coordinator. He had great ideas and was flexible with what we wanted to incorporate. He was so easy to communicate with and ensured that the day ran super smoothly, even the day after a hurricane!
The food was amazing! There were so many compliments from our guests, afterwards. The location at Paamul is beautiful, as well and the staff are super attentive. Not even sure where to begin. It took us foreverrrrr to decide on a date and location, but I'm so glad with the choice we made. Our biggest reason for choosing this company is the vibrant, experienced and AMAZING wedding planner named Christian Del Rio. He made our vision come to life and our wedding was nothing short of amazing! From the beach ceremony, to the live band, incredible food (and we're picky with wedding food), and fire dancers!!! We truly feel like Christian and the Blue Venado Team did everything in their power to make an unforgettable wedding take place. To my surprise, that day felt effortless. The team was on it and ready! It's safe to say that we'll be back for the 10yr anniversary :) -

Blue Venado exceeded our expectations in every way! We worked with Christian, who held regular video calls with us during the year before our wedding. He was very respectful of our budget and helped us figure out the most reasonable package for what we wanted. He came prepared with a whole google slides presentation to keep track of the details which was a huge help during the planning process. On the day of, he coordinated the ceremony very smoothly and communicated with the DJ to make sure the music would go as planned. I gave him a few general guidelines for the arch design and flowers and I was absolutely blown away by how well he executed it. The food and drinks were also incredible, we got a taco bar and some of the taco options ran out because people were going back for seconds and thirds. We got the basic open bar package and it came with more options than we thought (like an amazing passionfruit margarita!) We also opted for a churro cart instead of a traditional cake, which was a huge hit as well. The staff was also incredible, they anticipated the guests' needs so well that my husband and I could just relax and have fun without worrying about anything. I especially appreciated that at the end of the night they passed around water bottles to everyone and they gathered the souvenirs that were left behind and made sure everyone took one as they left. All in all, the wedding was so much more beautiful than I could have imagined, and we got so many compliments from our guests on the venue, the flowers, the food, the drinks, and the staff. And with all that, it was still a great value! I would highly recommend Blue Venado to anyone getting married in the Riviera Maya! -

Dreamy Wedding in Mexico
Blue Venado is a DREAM. We went for a site visit/tasting a year before our wedding and we instantly knew we were making the right choice getting married here... we were blown away by the view, privacy and the food and could not wait to come back for our wedding. Fast forward a year later and our wedding day was absolutely incredible and a dream come true. The service at Blue Venado is excellent, every person that works there is truly so kind, attentive and happy! We worked with Daniela Rosaldo aka Danny for everything operations wise at BV (we worked with an outside designer) and we cannot say enough of how amazing Danny is. She is a true leader, she always went above and beyond & always was available to talk to discuss anything needed, it can be tough being that you can't be in person there often but she made the process so smooth that it felt like a breeze. Video calls, voice memos, texting etc... she was fast at responding and always informative and was on top of everything. Our guests were blown away by the service, food & drinks (UNREAL) and venue itself- that they keep asking if they'll be a reunion. Getting married at BV was the best thing, it is such a beautiful gem, that is completely private and intimate. Thank you Blue Venado for making our wedding dreams come true, we have created memories for a lifetime! -

Stunning venue, amazing service!
The minute I walked into Blue Venado I knew it was the right place for my now husband and I to get married. It’s even more stunning in person than on Instagram and it is so private. The staff there is also amazing - we heard from multiple guests how impressed they were at the service. They are very organized and super professional. Special shout to our coordinator Daniela who was so sweet and helpful!

Our wedding was on October 31st, 2022. We worked with Christian Del Rio from Blue Venado team and we booked the Blue Venado Private Paradise (older venue). Christian went all the way and beyond to make sure all of our questions were always answered. He was very responsive and worked tirelessly to ensure our wedding goes the way we wanted it to be.
Christian often gave us useful tips on how to save money and offered us a variety of different suppliers to choose from. We could see that he invested a lot of effort into our wedding. Undoubtedly, our wedding turned out to be amazing.
We never visited the venue prior to the day of our wedding, we never did the food tasting. Hence, I was a bit worried that there might be something that will surprise/disappoint us on our big day. Nevertheless, everything went perfect.
The arch from Style Me looked so beautiful. We sent many pictures to Christian. I had the precise vision of how it should look, and he ensured it looks exactly as I requested. The food was beyond delicious, we had the ribeye steak. The servers and bartenders worked tirelessly to ensure all of our guests were happy.

I am so beyond thrilled with how beautiful and perfect our wedding was on Oct 9, 2022, that I'm not sure how to not write a 5-page essay about Blue Venado. I worked with Daniela on planning and she is a consummate professional, is always so kind, and humored me by answering all my ridiculous questions. I trusted her implicitly, but planning a wedding for 40+ people in another country is still stressful! She totally understood and never seemed annoyed by my questions. So, she's probably a great actress as well!!
The venue is stunning. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to visit in February but believe me, you don't need to do this! They have everything covered for you, and the scenery is perfect. Our brunch in the bridal suite was delicious; all the food all night was incredible (thank you, Chef Angel!), and the staff couldn't be beat. Special shout out to Homeboy and Cristian. My husband and I were perfectly taken care of - never in need of a drink or food at all! I couldn't believe the amount of staff working our relatively small event (43 total) - I think 15 people were working and everything was so smooth and efficient as a result. You would NEVER have this perfect of an experience in the US, especially for the price. The value here is incredible, and you will have a great party!!
Daniela enacted my vision perfectly, and people couldn't get over how beautiful the space was, the decor, and the deliciousness of the food. The drinks were definitely flowing for everyone and we had the. best. time. Their vendor recommendations are wonderful but they are also happy to work with different folks if you find someone else you prefer (such as our photographer). It is amazing to have the whole place just for you and your guests, and to really personalize the wedding you want. You cannot have that same opportunity at a resort. I almost wish I could get married again just to plan another Blue Venado party!
Beautiful venue, amazing staff, expert planners, great value, delicious food and drinks - they built a whole dream and I cannot be more grateful. I almost can't believe I had such a perfect wedding, truly. You expect at least one thing to go wrong but I can honestly say that the whole day was perfect from beginning to end. Great vendor!
We got married at one of the Blue Venado beach venues and it was such a great experience. We purchased the package that included the venue, the catering, and the bar. Every single thing was spot on. The food was delicious, the drinks were extremely well done, and the venue was breathtaking. They were so flexible to accommodate special requests, and incredibly kind and helpful with their service. They even saved appetizers for us from the cocktail hour so we wouldn't go hungry during the hectic day! We really felt well taken care of at Blue Venado and would 100% recommend their services. -

Wedding review
I can’t say enough good things about blue venado. Christian and Itzel went above and beyond on every level.
Christian was there to greet us and get us settled in. We had forgotten a few items at the hotel and he offered to ride back with one of our guests to get the items. Itzel went out of her way to go to a market to pick up fresh coconuts that we requested last minute.
Every single detail that we had asked for was perfectly executed. The floral arrangements, all the extra decorations, and vendors came together so beautifully.
The staff were so attentive and friendly. The servers and bartenders made sure everyone was taken care throughout the entire night.
The food was delicious. We chose the 3 course menu option and not a single complaint. We also had a churro cart and a midnight taco cart, which was a huge hit.
The venue was absolutely stunning. It met every expectation and beyond. -

All I have to say is WOW… this venue was absolutely perfection in every way. I was nervous because our wedding was a little last minute and the original Blue Venado wasn’t available on the date we wanted and the new location was still being built but it was beyond what I could have imagined! The venue was perfect as well was the service and food! The bartenders were so great, we had a very rowdy group and they made sure everyone had drinks and we’re having a good time at all times. The food was absolutely amazing as well. We did a tasting a few days before the wedding at we were so happy with our selections! If anyone has questions about the food and drinks feel free to reach out! Unfortunately our wedding was during peak seaweed season so there was some seaweed on the beach but they had people cleaning it up the best they could all day before the wedding and to be honest it didn’t bother me very much. We went with the all in package so everything we wanted was included such as decor/food/drinks/churro cart/violinist and more..we went all out! Worth every penny!
Wedding Planner: Sofia Garcia - I don’t even know where to begin with telling you how AMAZING this woman is. She literally planned the wedding of my dreams to perfection! I just told her my vision and showed her some inspo photos and she exceeded my expectations beyond belief! Not to mention she is an absolute angel and a dream to work with! Anytime I texted her any questions over the span of planning the wedding she always responded within minutes. Our wedding day went flawlessly and she coordinated everything perfect! Dream venue
There are not enough words to describe what a dream our wedding was at blue venado. The entire staff was incredibly attentive and made sure everyone was having a good time (and made sure everyone always had a drink in hand). Sofia Garcia was my planner and she is an angel on earth. I knew I wanted to work with her since I booked the venue back in December 2019. Even after our venue visit back in May 2021, we were that much more excited to be having our wedding there after seeing it in person. They were so welcoming and made us feel so comfortable, we knew we made the right decision. Her and her team were so accommodating and made the multiple postponements really easy for us to work with. She was able to sketch out my exact vision and make it come to life. I am not the most organized person, yet Sofia was able to get all details and make everything happen. Even as we were getting ready in the bridal suite, her team was so attentive and constantly made sure we had snacks and drinks and that everything was going smoothly. The drinks also kept on coming, I don’t know if the DJ and bartenders planned it but it kept hyping everyone up and it was truly the best time. My guests still rave about how our wedding was the best they’ve been to and how gorgeous it was. Don’t sleep on blue venado, book them ASAP. -

Oh my gosh where do I even start?! The Blue Venado is quite possibly the most beautiful wedding venue I’ve ever been to and I almost couldn’t believe it was real! I felt like a celebrity bride getting married here! Sofia was the absolute best wedding planner- she made my Pinterest inspiration come to life in the most incredible way. My wedding was an absolute dream that exceeded my wildest expectations. Food and drinks were incredible as well- my guests were raving! I am so so glad we chose to get married here instead of at the resort we stayed at. Do not hesitate for a second to book this place! -

Best day EVER!
There is no better place in the world to have your wedding than Blue Venado!!! I am literally still speechless over everything that BV did to exceed my husband and my, and all of our guests expectations. To add some context, I have personally been to 100 weddings and personally been apart of 30+ Of them. I have taken part in weddings from Toronto, to Portugal, Switzerland, Croatia in some beautiful venues but BV takes the cake. Our wedding coordinator Miguel was a dream to work with. Like BEYOND amazing, professional and literally blew me away. Miguel was truly was like an Angel sent to me who made everything perfect. I didn’t have a single stress or worry on my wedding day or leading up to the day. He was so responsive and happy to do anything he could to help. Like genuinely such a beautiful human being. There is no price tag that any bride and groom can put on that. The staff at BV and the general manager Christian were spectacular. I truly have no words. You will never have service and people looking after all of your guests and the bride and groom like Christian and the BV staff did. From the venue, to the food, decor, their DJ Diego - booking BV for our wedding was the BEST decision I have ever ever made. The guests and the groom and I had the absolute best day and night of our lives. Our guests were commenting how it was the best wedding (even including their own). If you are questioning whether or not you should book BV - do not hesitate. You will never have a venue, experience, or have a Miguel or Christian, or BV staff at any resort. BV is a 12/10 and if I could give them 100 stars I would. After having to reschedule 3 times due to COVID, BV was so understanding and accommodating, we had a fairy tale wedding. Ohh and the bridal Suite - ladies there is no where better places to get ready on your day than the bridal suite at BV. Dwayne and I will never forget everything you did to make our wedding finally happen and come to life beyond our wildest dreams. More than I could have hoped for…
We had our wedding at Blue Venado at the start of Dec 2021. I worked with Yara Poot and her team throughout the pandemic to reschedule and organize a destination wedding for 90 guests. Yara was helpful and communicative through the whole thing, so planning was so easy to do from out of country!
Yara and the staff at Blue Venado went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. She was able to find my vision, and focused on every detail of our wedding while being conscious of my budget and priorities. On the day of the wedding, Yara did everything possible to get me the outdoor wedding I hoped for between storm showers, including moving the whole ceremony space twice. The service there was perfection, all of our drinks were always full and everyone was friendly and kind. Yara helped to organize all of our vendors for us, so planning was simple and affordable. All my fears on decoration and flowers were immediately squashed when I saw the set up happening during the day, and details included that I had not even thought about. As well, I was worried that the DJ would just play our Spotify playlist, but he was incredible and our guests stayed and danced till 2 AM!
Not an exaggeration, but at least 30 people came up to us during our wedding to tell us that this was one of the most beautiful venues they had ever seen and the best wedding they had ever been to. My husband and I have repeatedly told each other how we would not have changed a thing, and the whole day was perfect. Writing this review does not even cover my gratefulness to Yara and the whole Blue Venado team! -

Sofia and the team at Blue Venado took our wedding vision and made it so much more. We were scheduled for a Covid wedding and had to push and they were so easy to work with during the pandemic to move everything.
We never met the team or saw the venue until the day of the wedding and instead of being nervous about that, we were so excited because we knew we were in the best hands. Walking into our reception was as much of a shock as it was to our guests, they absolutely blew our minds with the attention to detail they took into making our wedding perfect.
We did the all-in package and I could not recommend that enough to couples. When they say all in, they mean it. There was nothing more we could have asked for. There was no detail overlooked, it was perfection.
The food, the drinks, the venue, all get 10/10. All of our guests told us this was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to and I have to agree, between the beach and florals and centerpiece in the palapa, it was so visually appealing. We were on cloud 9.
I would recommend Blue Venado to each and every person who is getting married!

The most AMAZING venue
Sofia truly is the fairy godmother of weddings. She took the ideas of a couple very much in love and spun them into the most beautiful and magical night. We met with her via zoom on a few occasions and that was all the took for her to truly understand our vision. The venue itself is insanely beautiful.. A private beach that truly encompasses the magic of the day. Blue Venado has the best employees - from Sophia to the servers, to the bartenders, to the photographers and DJ. The venue is well staffed and that was something our guests noticed right away, in the best way. Our signature drink was a guayaba margarita (made from fresh guayabas) and it was absolutely delicious! Our guests complimented the food from start to finish as well as the pastries. The DJ was what I was most worried about because a DJ can truly make a break a party but he absolutely MADE the party. From the intro songs I requested for the speeches down to the dancing.. the DJ was FANTASTIC. if you’re debating on a wedding venue trust me that you will not regret going with Blue Venado. They truly turned our idea of a destination wedding into a night that not only we, but our guests will never forget. -

Blue Venado at Paamul in INCREDIBLE! We just had our wedding there on August 4th, 2021, and the magic the venue and wedding planner have is unreal, beyond our expectations. Also to preface, we went into this venue completely blind, having not visited it ever before the day of wedding. Extremely happy with how everything turned out.
First off, we worked with Sofia (wedding planner/coordinator) for the last 9 months, zoom calls from Seattle to Mexico. She took our vision and created something even more beautiful in person! She was incredible to work with, easy-going, fast communicator, and the kindest woman in person. On the wedding day, their team set up the place beautifully, well-staffed, amazing drinks! Our two signature drinks were whiskey mule and mojito, and the bartender made them with fresh juices, so refreshing. The chef "Angel" is incredible, it was very important to him at our food tasting that the food met our expectations, and he exceeded! Our guests loved all the dishes he and his team created. The scenery is the best part. The ocean view, privacy, beautiful blue waters, everything we were looking for. The price is amazing for everything this place has to offer. If you are looking for a private wedding, away from resorts and people watching, and the natural beauty and love this place has, I highly recommend this place to you! Seriously the best day of our lives. Thank you Blue Venado and Sofia.

I thought it would be hard planning a wedding in Mexico while living in California. I was so wrong. The team at Blue Venado made the process so easy and enjoyable. Everyone was so responsive and helped throw me the wedding of my dreams.
The food was AMAZING. Every person said that it was by far the best wedding food they had ever had.
My guests tipped the servers on their own because they thought the service was so spectacular. We had never experienced service like that even at 5 star restaurants. Servers had drinks ready for guests before they even asked and memorized their orders immediately.
It rained the day of my wedding but the staff was able to put everything under the main palapa and nothing got wet. They brought drinks out to the guests who were waiting in vans which was a nice and thoughtful touch.
My coordinator, Sofia, met with all the vendors beforehand to make sure everything was seamless. I could not have asked for a more thoughtful or professional coordinator.
My fiance was unsure about not having our wedding at an all-inclusive, however, after our wedding, he said a hotel wedding would have been awful in comparison. It really was amazing.

Initially I was a little nervous booking a venue that I had only seen in pictures. We live in NY so we didnt got a chance to see the place in person until a couple of days before our wedding. We were blown away when we saw it. The views are amazing! It’s right on the beach, and the place is huge. It’s like you’re on your own private oasis. All of my guests were impressed. We had the all in package which I highly recommend (It makes things a lot easier). The food was great, and the drinks were always flowing. I used the in house DJ, I had planned to give him some songs so he can get a feel of the music I wanted but I never had time to do it. I didn’t have to though because he was incredible. He kept the party going all night with exactly the music I wanted to hear. The best part of booking Blue Venado is Sophia!!!! That woman is the greatest! She went above and beyond to get me everything I asked for. We communicated via WhatsApp and Skype for months before the wedding. Any questions I had, she answered. Any ideas I had, she carried them out. On top of that she gave me some suggestions that I wasn’t even thinking of, that were amazing. She’s really a pro at what she’s does. I managed to be stress free knowing that I had Sophia. She’s an amazing person. When I finally met her in person it was like we knew each other forever. She even assisted me with some prewedding tasks. I couldn’t have asked for a greater wedding planner. And I highly recommend you do what I did and book the Blue Venado as your wedding venue. You will not be disappointed! I’ve known people who have had resort weddings and they had nowhere near the location, service or experience that you get at the Blue Venado. When we found out Wedding Vactions hosted weddings at this venue, we were interested to learn more. Boy oh boy, we did not make a mistake. We were lucky enough to work with Sofia Garcia (one of Wedding Vacations coordinators/planners). Not only was she extremely attentive, creative, and always available over Facebook and Skype, she strived to make sure that our vision was a reality on our wedding day. Sofia not only delivered our dream, but much more. Our entire family was quite literally blown away by the venue, location, and attention to every small detail – all thanks to Sofia. Sofia and her team have an extremely robust network of vendors in the area that can make ANY vision a reality. Not only that, one of the biggest things I appreciated about working with Sofia was how genuine of a person she is, each interaction showed she cared about Brittany and I, and the outcome of our wedding. She would often tell us what was or was not worth investing extra money in (anyone who has ever planned a wedding before can appreciate that). The food was excellent and no ask was too much for the staff at Blue Venado (they were extremely attentive and the food was beyond what we expected from the appetizers, main course to dessert). Sofia also assisted in arranging a tasting before the wedding, which we highly recommend!
Overall, my wife and I could not have picked a better choice or worked with a better person than Sofia. Our only regret is that we can’t relieve that magical night again and again. Thank you Sofia, Wedding Vactions, and Blue Venado!!!

We found Blue Venado right after we got engaged late 2016. We had a trip planned in October 2016 and we contacted Sofia and she arranged a tour and tasting. We were lucky to have seen the venue before our wedding. We actually came back Spring 2017 and had our engagement pictures taken there. Our friends and families loved how beautiful the venue was.
Through the wedding planning process, Sofia was always a Whatsapp message away. The greatest advise I got from her was to create a google spreadsheet and share it with her. This was GREAT idea. We probably only had 2 skype call, the rest was messaging but mainly jointly completing the spreadsheet.
Having visited the venue last during our engagement pictures, which was about 15 months prior to our wedding date, I have to say I was blown away by the new decor they have. They have totally changed the decor and it looks AMAZING. The venue looks so beautiful.
We wanted a 100% private venue and Blue Venado offered exactly that. Walking down the aisle for me was so easy because I knew everyone in the audience unlike at a resort where you share your day with a handful of other hotel guests. Nothing wrong with that, just our preference was 100% friends and family.
Sofia worked very well with all my vendors, she made recommendations on vendors when we asked her opinion. There transportation was great, clean vehicles, great drivers. Easy transfer for my guests from resort to venue and back. Thanks Yarra.
Sofia makes her brides feel special. She is always calm and smiling, gentle but you feel her presence. She makes sure everything runs smoothly. She is like a coordinator, a maid of honor, a friend, all in one.

Sofia, the venue manager, responded back quickly and gave us a price list and all the options they had. I loved how informative their material was and how helpful Sofia was! So after more research and looking at Blue Venado's stellar reviews, we chose to have our wedding at Blue Venado site unseen. We booked Blue Venado a year in advance and throughout the year, I emailed and had many Skype conversations with Sofia for reassurance and clarity. She always let me know what the venue could do and who to contact for extra services. The process was seamless and so easy to do from Seattle!
My husband and I finally got to see Blue Venado a few days before our wedding and it was actually better than we imagined! The place looks like it is straight out of magazine and totally exceeded our expectations! Our wedding day went really smoothly and everything looked beautiful. Our wedding felt like a dream, complete with churro cart, beautiful flowers, beautiful decor, etc! And I felt like a princess! Sofia was definitely my fairy godmother :). She pays attention to detail and tries to make each wedding a little different in order to keep these weddings unique. She even surprised us with extra decor we didn't expect! Thanks so much!

Michelle Sent on 02/04/2018If you are going to have your wedding in Playa Del Carmen, you must have it with Sofia Garcia at Blue Venado. My wife and I had our wedding in June 2017 and it was perfect. We were considering having it at our all-inclusive resort but they gave us such a headache with complex pricing schemes for food, drinks, and guests we decided to switch venues to Blue Venado. Thank goodness we did, with beach weddings at a resort you'll have loads of bystanders encroaching on your special day but at Blue Venado you have the entire beach reserved. Our wedding planner, Sofia Garcia, made everything easy and straightforward and relieved a lot of our stresses. Even though we really didn't have a clear vision of what we wanted, Sofia decorated everything so well that our wedding turned our more beautiful than we ever could have imagined. The beach is absolutely the most gorgeous setting for a wedding ceremony and the main palapa was the perfect place for the reception dinner and dancing. Servers were quick to prepare whatever drinks you wanted and the food was delicious. Additionally, there was a truly magical event that occurred midway through the reception, baby turtles began to hatch on the beach and our guests got the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see them make their way to the ocean under the moonlight. Just like the baby turtles got a beautiful start in their journey through life, my wife and I got a perfect start to ours together at Blue Venado.

I believe there might be some truth to that and if so then I think one of the best choices we made was in selecting Blue Venado as our venue. We spent countless hours scouring Wedding Wire and multiple forums, weighing the pros and cons of doing a separate venue versus at the hotel, costs involved, vendors used at the different venues and ultimately pulled the trigger on Blue Venado. We are so glad we did and a large part of that is in due to the amazing onsite coordinator they have with Sofia Garcia. The venue is beautiful but she makes the entire event a dream.
We planned our wedding at Blue Venado without ever seeing the venue until we arrived in Playa Del Carmen for our wedding 2 days before the event. Sofia was incredible to work with and answered our annoying questions throughout the process. She made things work that were important to us and was a dream. We didn't speak to the team a ton before the wedding but every time we had a question, it was answered and we were put at ease. Every photo we sent her was replicated in the finished product. Words cannot even convey our happiness with Blue Venado and Sofia. Thank you for making our day magical! The food was great, the lighting perfect, the DJ played out exact playlist and we even saved a baby turtle and sent him off to the ocean safely! -

We had an amazing experience with blue venado! I had extremely high expectations and our wedding actually exceeded my expectations! Everything was fabulous, and I felt it was a great value compared to weddings in the US! The decor, the ambiance of the venue itself, the beach, the lights, the ceiling piece, and the drinks and food were all amazing ! The DJ was great! I wasn’t sure if we needed to book an external vendor for this. The answer is NO! The drinks and food were the best wedding food I’ve ever had. Everything was perfect. For extra entertainment we booked batucada, cigar rollers, and a saxophonist and they were amazing. I would recommend all of it! The only thing you don’t need to worry about is getting a bunch of extra decor! The chef deluxe package includes so much! -

We had never been to Playa or set eyes on Blue Venado until a few days before the wedding. It was a bit stressful planning a destination wedding, especially somewhere that we had never been. But this looked like my dream location on a private beach from all the photos and reviews. We took a leap of faith and I can honestly say that I was blown away...everything was way better than we could've ever imagined. Itzel, our wedding planner, took my wedding vision and transformed the space into exactly what I had pictured. She was flexible with some small things that I changed last minute and also took the time to review and send photos/videos from some of the hotels and rehearsal dinner spots we were considering. She gave her honest opinion about whether they would be good or not to work with the number, budget, and vibe we were going for. I can't say enough good things about Blue Venado and Itzel as well as the rest of the staff - the location was gorgeous, the space that my bridesmaids and I got ready in was incredible and so relaxing, the decor and flowers (absolutely beautiful!), and the staff was so friendly and attentive and made sure to keep the party going. I wish I could re-live this day again... it was a dream :). -

Just book them now! You will never find a better bang for your buck anywhere no matter how long you look.
The Blue Venado is the most beautiful location you can find and it is so affordable! We had a fairly minimalistic wedding and it didn’t even seem like it because of the ambiance and decor that just comes with the venue. Not to mention they are so accommodating no matter the size of your wedding.
I will admit, I had a planner and she dealt with them as far as communication goes, but they seemed pretty good at the back and forth. There were a few times we had to wait a day or two for a response, but they do have weddings and events often so I understood the delay.
Big perk: they work so well with the other vendors you bring in!! They can do it all if you want, but if not, they are happy to let you bring in anyone else to do your cake or your flowers or whatever...honestly, where else will you find that?!
On a side note, all of our guests were blown away by the location and privacy (which always feels good after you’ve been planning for so long).
My husband and I are so happy we found the Blue Venado and believe me, you will be too! -

We recently had our wedding at Blue Venado at the end of November 2018. From the beginning Sofia was very helpful in answering all the questions we had and made me feel at ease about planning a wedding from halfway around the world. Planning for the wedding was made easy by her by having a google sheet where we put all of our ideas down for her to see. She was great in communicating with us every step of the way. Everytime I had a question or concern she got back to me right away and she was also helpful in giving me some helpful tips and suggestions. She provided me with their local office address so that I could ship things for the wedding there which was really helpful considering that I didn’t want to bring with me heavy shot glasses that I was going to give away as our wedding favor. She was made available to me through email, skype and whatsapp. Days before the wedding we finally went to Blue Venado for the first time to view the venue and have our tasting for the wedding. We had brought a whole suitcase full of decorations for our persian ceremony and reception. She gladly accepted it and made sure to go through everything with me to make sure it was all clear on how I wanted everything decorated. Then we proceeding with the food and our welcome drink tasting. Our welcome drink was delicious and they also offered us wine to taste. The tasting went well and we liked all the food. We had a few comments regarding the food but we spoke with the Chef and he made sure to make the modifications we requested. We had some vegan wedding guest so the chef was able to accomodate them and make delicious vegan options for them. The appetizers and dinner was very tasty and the portions were so large so everybody had enough to eat. The wedding cake was really beautiful and looked absolutely amazing (just as we had requested), however, the taste of the wedding cake could have been tastier, it was not terrible but also not amazing. The servers were great and made sure everybody was taken care of during the night. Pedro, the night manager was also very helpful in managing the event at night. He graciously packed all our decorations and items we had brought for the wedding in the suitcase so at the end of the night we were just able to take it and leave stress free. He also came to our resort a few days before the wedding to pick up some items for the wedding that we could not take to Sofia during the tasting which was so convenient for us since we were so busy days before the wedding. All of the vendors that Sofia recommended were great. I’d definitely recommend going with the vendors that Sofia recommends because we picked the DJ on our own (without her recommendation) and they were a few hiccups with him. The venue is really beautiful and rustic. I love that we had the venue all to ourselves, it felt very intimate and special. I loved the decorations for our wedding, it was what I had imagined and more! Sofia, Pedro and her team made sure to be there to take care of any last minute things which I can’t thank them enough for! Overall we had an amazing time with all of friends and family thanks to Sofia, Pedro and their team :) I highly recommend working with them for your wedding, it was truly unique and amazing venue. -

Blue Venado was recommended by Maria at WeddingsinPlaya and the venue did not disappoint. Everything was setup wonderfully. The food was amazing (again recommended by Maria because it didn’t work out to have a tasting). Staff was super attentive and guests never didn’t have a drink in their hand. Even when there was a hiccup with a closed bank account and extra wire fees, Sophia, the manager made it right by giving me the money back for the fees that were paid. -

Beautiful but not worth it. Itzel is selfish and inconsiderate
My experience with blue Venado went well until our wedding day. Just so many things happen that day that had to do with the venue and the lack of communication. Thankfully I had a wedding planner who helped me so much through out the day and trying her best to fix every issue with blue Venado. Im going to start off with the venue location. The address provided is the incorrect address 80% of our guest we’re lost and sent to another venue. Even the workers there say people always get lost. Next, I arrived around 1pm and was told I had to pay for the extra hours (totally fine) only was about maybe $60. As I walked in to the bridal suite I had to wash my face and use the restroom to get my hair and make up started. Then realized there’s no water ? I had to wash my face with a bottle of water and had to use the restroom in a dirty bathroom. Apparently they have been having this issue all morning and didn’t inform anyone about this. Wasn’t fixed until after my ceremony and cocktail hour. Actually as my husband and I were walking towards our reception a man came up to us and said the water is now fixed. So around 7pm the water was fixed… how embarrassing. After our grand entrance we went to sit down on the bamboo chairs and my husband fell because they gave him a broken chair and blamed him for breaking it- when it was already broken. After that, we went to get our tacos (we chose a taco bar blue Venado provided) and we realized there was no seafood. We chose 2 meats and 1 seafood. Since we had many guest who don’t eat meat we wanted to make sure we had an option for them. But of course no seafood, guest just had to eat rice and beans. I was very saddened by that since we had mentioned seafood to our guest. Another thing was the wedding cake we chose coconut and chocolate cake. Tasted just like a vanilla cake with cake batter. We were so excited to taste our cake and it was just so plain. Also had a disturbing Incident where I was in the bridal suite putting my dress back on and a worker walks in on me (thankfully I turned around and my bridesmaids covered me). I was told no one will come in there. We had all of our stuff there which made nervous as well. Just a mess.
So I sent them an email about these concerns and spoke to ITZEL and pretty much said it’s my fault and because they didn’t charge for the extra hours all is forgotten which is not okay. I believe we should have gotten some money reimbursed for their mistakes. And the best part is she told my wedding planner to calm me down before i write a review and mind you I had my wedding March 2022 and I’m just getting a response back. I know things can happen and sometimes doesn’t go perfectly but the way they handled everything was unprofessional and selfish. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Yes it’s beautiful but I would want brides to have the best time even if things go bad you which can happen Blue Venado will not help you in any way. There are many other beautiful venues (where you won’t get lost ) haha thank you for reading if you got this far. -
