Best Cakes

We LOVED working with Bloom for our wedding cakes. They don't do tiered cakes, so we did multiple cake rounds in multiple flavors (Pistachio Caramel, Lemon Vanilla Raspberry, and Vegan/GF Vanilla). All of them came out incredible, and our favorite was actually the Vegan Vanilla! Bloom was fairly priced, easy to work with, and made cakes we were proud to serve at our wedding. Thank you so much to the Bloom team for making our day even more special!

Professional and delicious

Bloom was the best choice!! Communication was always easy, friendly and knowledgeable.
Our almond raspberry cake was one of the tastiest cakes I have ever eaten and we are still receiving complements on the offerings for guests. If you are skeptical about the GF and vegan aspects of some of these desserts, do not be, these were beloved by all guests.
We did both the cupcakes, brownies and lemon bars.
One of our easiest vendors to work with, total pros.

Most delicious bakery in Madison!

We were fortunate to have Bloom cake and cupcakes at our wedding! The bride is gluten-free, and If you’ve been to Bloom, you know how delicious their baked goods are. (If you haven’t been to Bloom, you should go right now.)

The staff was easy to work with and they provided us with a tasting box option to help narrow down the flavors we were looking for. We served cupcakes for our guests: chocolate ganache, carrot cake and blueberry-lemon, all outrageously delicious, and our guests loved them. As for ourselves, we had a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting… and we made a point NOT to share something this good. :-)

Gluten-free or not, if you’re looking for the best cake in the Madison area, then look no further than Bloom.

Absolutely delicious!

I adore Bloom Bake Shop, and so when it came time to select a vendor for our wedding cake Bloom was our first call! Nicole was a dream to work with, and made the cake selection process fun and easy. We ended up with three scrumptious flavors (Lemon Rosemary Thyme, Almond Raspberry with Swiss Meringue Buttercream, and Salted Caramel Chocolate). Would hands down recommend working with Bloom again and again!

Collaborative and instagram worthy cakes

Nicole was wonderful to work with for my wedding cake. First, she helped me as we were on a budget so we had a 3 tier cake and then regular cakes that were in the serving kitchen which cut down costs. Second I never got to try the cake as I live out of town. Nicole was so helpful and hosted my mom and aunts to try the cake. She was kind and listened as I shared which cakes my mon liked. Nicole helped me use their feedback, suggesting which cakes would be the most moist based on what we were looking for. We ended up with vegan vanilla , chocolate caramel and caramel chocolate. The cakes were moist and sweet, the way I like them. I picked Bloom as they make the most beautiful instagram worthy cakes. When I saw my wedding cake in person it was exactly what I was looking for, beautifully simplistic.

Best bakery ever

I love Bloom so much! So much that when it came to picking a bakery for our wedding cake I didn't even look into any other options besides Bloom! We got married August 2020 in Door County. Because of travel we couldn't do a tiered cake. This bummed me out at first, but their cake is so delicious that I knew it would be worth it! We did the Semi-Naked with Confectionary Glaze style and it turned out amazing! To still get a tiered look we just got cake stands that were various heights. Nicole was wonderful to work with. She always got back to me in a timely manner and was super flexible. Bloom had to stop booking for weddings because of COVID, but since we had already booked our date back in February they honored that which was also great. The cakes we had were carrot cake, GF Almond Raspberry, and Chocolate Ganache Caramel w/ Cream Cheese frosting. We LOVED all of them! We also had some Traditional Chocolate Chip Cookies, Traditional Sweet Potato Doughnuts, and V/GF Chocolate Chip Cookie Whoopies. All of these were also amazing and helped us cater to everyone's different dietary needs! I can't recommend Bloom enough for both a wedding as well as just an afternoon treat or for breakfast! Wish the Middleton location was still around!

The Tastiest Vegan Desserts in Madison

Bloom is wonderful for vegan/GF folks (but also for everyone else with no restrictions). They did cupcakes for my bridal shower & our rehearsal happy hour, and cakes for our wedding. Everything tasted SO GOOD and was decorated just like we had asked. Guests raved about the flavors every time we had Bloom's dessert served. Nicole was so thoughtful throughout the whole planning process & so willing to adjust numbers etc because of COVID changes. We LOVE Bloom and will of course go back whenever we visit Madison.

Beautiful and delicious!

Nicole from Bloom Bake Shop was such a pleasure to work with! She gave us the most delicious box of cupcakes to try all of the different cake flavors. We ended up getting a lemon rosemary olive oil wedding cake and it was perfect! Both beautiful and delicious :) Thank you!

Best. Cupcakes. Ever! We worked with Nicole, who was extremely great, flexible and helpful throughout the seamless process. Our guests loved the delicious variety of cupcakes we had! Highly recommend!!

So Delicious!

Nicole at Bloom Bake Shop was so helpful. We had Bloom Bake Shop do the cupcakes for our wedding. We picked up a cupcake tasting box and tried on our own. We emailed her with what we wanted and pictures of how we wanted them to decorate them. They tasted great, and looked great too. We got so many complements on the cupcakes. I would love to stop in the bakeshop another time and pick up a few cupcakes from them. Thanks again!

Best donut ever

SO DELICIOUS. The desserts were a huge hit and people could not get over the sweet potato donuts. We loved that we were able to pick multiple dessert options to make a dessert bar and loved the unique flavor combinations of the cupcakes and donuts. Will definitely be visiting the cafe/bakery every time we are Madison!

Amazing cupcakes

We did 3 flavors of cupcakes from Bloom for our wedding and they were a delicious hit! They covered all the big bases (gluten-free option, vegan option) and you really couldn't even tell anything was "missing" from the cupcakes - they are all equally delicious!

I really appreciated them going above and beyond with the packaging to keep the cupcake variety that contained nuts away from the other 2 flavors as well.

Delicious sweets for our wedding!!

Bloom Bake Shop has an amazing selection of desserts including cupcakes, donuts, and mini pop-tarts. We had several flavors of cupcakes and donuts for our wedding. They were beautifully decorated and tasted incredible. Our guests loved everything Bloom provided (especially the Tuxedo cupcakes and the sweet potato donuts). The three tiered cake they made for us was gorgeous -- everything we had hoped it would be. Nicole and company were very easy to communicate with and responded promptly. They also had a wide variety of staging pieces for the desserts so we were easily able to find something that matched our theme.

Best Desserts in town

We had Bloom cater the desserts and make the cake for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier that we chose them! Free tasting boxes certainly aren’t out of the norm, but a 2nd free tasting box when seasonal ingredients are available really puts the icing on the cake! They also provided all the beautiful display pieces which worked perfectly. We’re just glad that we grabbed several desserts right away, because the next time we saw the dessert table everything was gone! Don’t get your desserts anywhere else!

I am so glad that my husband and I chose Bloom Bakery for our wedding! Nicole was amazing to work with and made us feel at ease throughout the whole process. We had a variety of cupcakes for our wedding dessert and our guests loved all of the flavors, especially the cinnamon roll cupcakes! We still get compliments on the cupcakes as well as the beautiful setup of the cupcakes by Nicole. Would highly recommend Bloom Bakery for any celebration!

In a word, Bloom is amazing. From start to finish we could not have had a better experience working with them. Nicole was our contact and she was super responsive, helpful, and overall great to work with. Instead of cake we opted to have a few smaller desserts at our wedding (whoopie pies, hand pies, blondies, cupcakes) and they were SO good. Guests raved about them and we loved them too! Definitely choose them for your wedding or other catering needs!

Bloom was fantastic to work with for our wedding. It was important to us to offer delicious gluten free options to our guests and they certainly delivered. Our cutting cake was gorgeous and our guests raved about the cake-- we had several guests comment that they enjoyed four slices of cake each! Consultation, delivery, and set up were very well done by the Bloom staff and we are still enjoying our leftover cake from the big day.

We hired Bloom for our wedding desserts and couldn't have been happier. Nicole was super friendly and great to work with. Our cake tasting was fun and delicious. Nicole helped us narrow down our choices and was also extremely helpful when we were trying to decide how much of each dessert we should order. She also allowed us to rent cake stands and other decor pieces so that our dessert table looked amazing. Everything tasted amazing as well! I'd definitely recommend Bloom if you're looking for a tasty treat or if you're planning a big event.

SO. GOOD. I wish we could give them six stars! We had a dessert table with cupcakes and doughnuts. Despite the fact that we picked a few unusual flavors (like rosemary olive oil lemon cupcakes), our guests gave them all rave reviews. We had vegan and gluten-free guests, so Bloom's wide range of tasty vegan/gluten-free options was a major plus. Another nice thing was that they provided take-out boxes for guests at the end of the night. We had no leftovers!

Bloom was quite possibly our favorite part of wedding planning. Everything from the first tasting to the beautiful cupcake/donut display & cake was exceptional. We so enjoyed working with Nicole and were absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out on the big day. Weeks later we are still getting compliments on the desserts (especially from our Vegan and Gluten Free friends/family who were DELIGHTED with the selection)! We’re so happy we found Bloom Bake Shop for our wedding. There’s so much more to say than just how (really, really) great the Bloom Bake Shop cakes were (and, wow they were good). The tasting and decision-making process for the types and sizes of cakes were so easy. Nicole and the others at Bloom had a wide variety for us to sample and gave us plenty of time before we locked in our final choices. They also encouraged us to come back closer to the wedding to try their seasonal flavors. They went so far as to make sure we had a tasting box (again filled with full cupcakes) to take and sample on our own time. Nicole was tremendously responsive to our questions and emails. The fact that many of their most delicious cakes were gluten free and/or vegan only sweetens (ok, bad pun) the deal. The final cake was exactly what we had hoped for, beautiful and delicious. We cannot recommend Bloom highly enough.

We cannot recommend Bloom Bake Shop more. So easy to work with and very good at helping us stay in our budget. Plus they included some display pieces to use included in the cost. Oh, and everything was DELICIOUS! Would highly recommend.

Bloom is amazing! We did a dessert table with them rather than going the traditional cake route, and we could not have been happier! We ultimately did cupcakes, whoopee pies, donuts, pop tarts, and brownies/bars. Our guests were trilled with the variety and option to have more than just cake. Also, they offer gluten free and vegan options that honestly don't taste any different from the "normal" kind. Their tasting was free and VERY filling. They source locally as much as possible, and we liked knowing our money was going back into the community. I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about them, and neither could our guests! 100% satisfied in every way.

We got cupcakes from Bloom for our wedding. Because I am celiac we were originally planning on doing a small cake for the groom and I. Annemarie went above my expectations and made our cake and all of the cupcakes gluten free. Everyone loved them and I can say they are easily the best treats I have ever had. Well worth the extra money. She also came in between the reception and ceremony to set them all out. We were able to collect her props the next day and deliver them to her later in the week. She was incredibly accommodating.

Absolutely superb! We were so lucky to work with Bloom Bake Shop for our wedding. Planning our wedding from out of state was challenging, but Annemarie and the entire staff made our cake decision so easy and convenient. We were able to sample seasonal flavors, which were incredible, on a timeline that worked for us. The cakes were unbelievable! All of our guests commented on how rich and flavorful all of the flavors were, and how impressed they were with the vegan and gluten free options. We were blown away with how stunning the cakes looked on display, which was only topped with their taste! We would recommend Bloom to any newlywed looking for an amazing quality cake with a unique flavor profile!

This was some of the best cake I've had in my entire life. Bloom Bake Shop is extraordinary. As someone with dietary restrictions I've been to many weddings where I had to miss out on the cake. At my own wedding I wanted to be sure that, not only could I eat the cake, but that others with dietary restrictions could too. People couldn't believe the cakes were gluten free and vegan. We even chose four different flavors and all were incredible! We heard one of our guests had four pieces so she could try all the flavors. The best part was taking some leftover cake on our honeymoon and eating it in Iceland. Thank you!

I love Bloom Bake Shop, and that it uses fresh, natural, and local ingredients. Bloom Bake Shop made my wedding cake, and it was beautiful and delicious! All of our wedding guests loved the wedding cake. Annmarie Maitri made it a fun experience to taste the wedding cake samples, and to discuss the flavors and design of the cake. She picked out a beautiful cake stand to go with our wedding cake, which made it look beautiful on our wedding day. She used the flowers our florist (Homegrown Flowers) left at our reception hall to decorate the wedding cake, and it was so beautiful. I highly recommend getting your wedding cake from Bloom Bake Shop!

Nothing but perfection from Bloom Bake Shop. I have celiac's disease, so we had a gluten free wedding, with a cutting cake and cupcakes. We planned our wedding from out-of-town, but needed to be in Madison exactly one year before our wedding, so they set us up with delicious seasonal tastings. It was a hard choice, but we went with the Almond Raspberry, Lemon Curd, and Chocolate Ganache. Every single guest commented on how delicious they were and were surprised they were gluten free.

On top of that, the decorations were beautiful. Bloom delivered and added their own touches to make it a gorgeous display.

We really cannot thank Bloom and the staff enough!

We are so happy that we found and hired Bloom Bakeshop to make our wedding cake this past August! We loved the location and had the best time taste-testing all of the delicious flavors—Annemarie was so kind and helpful. You can tell that making delicious and beautiful cakes for people is her calling. We ended up giving our guests the option of carrot cake with cream cheese frosting (a favorite!) or chocolate with chocolate ganache frosting (also delicious!) and they were AMAZING! One of the things that I loved the most was being able to do a ‘naked’ cake, where they shaved off the icing on the sides of the display cakes so that it has a more rustic appearance and compliments the floral decorations. (The guests were all able to eat cake with frosting!) Couldn’t have had a better experience with Bloom Bakeshop and highly recommend it!

The Cupcakes were absolutely delicious. They also did a beautiful job designing our dessert table. Bloom Bake Shop is on the higher end price wise, but well worth it because their desserts are all natural and the cupcakes are very substantial. They were wonderful to work with.

Having delicious baked goods at our wedding was a must and Annemarie and Bloom Bake Shop did not disappoint! From our tasting to the wedding day she was a pleasure to work with- organized, professional and creative. We wanted a full dessert table, not just a cake, and Annmarie was fantastic in helping us come up with a stellar dessert menu.

She is a crazy talented baker and has a keen eye for design. Not only did the desserts taste delicious, the presentation was beautiful. If you are looking for a professional, easy to work with, and incredibly talented baker, look no further than Annemarie and Bloom Bake Shop!

The entire process of working with Annemarie at Bloom was amazing. She pours her heart into her business, and it shows. We got cupcakes, and everyone was raving about them. We couldn't be happier with Bloom! We'll be customers for life :)

Bloom did an amazing job on our wedding cake - we had many guests tell us that it was the "best wedding cake they've ever had". The presentation was also beautiful. I would highly recommend Bloom!

We did cupcakes instead of a wedding cake and they were delicious. The tasting at Bloom prior to our wedding was one of the most fun things we did as a couple as part of the planning. We got the lemon curd, fresh carrott, and gluten free/vegan chocolate cupcakes. They were all beautiful. Annemarie delivered them to our venue and set them all up so they looked beautiful for our guests to see before dinner.

I love Bloom Bake Shop. Annemarie was wonderful to work with and the cupcakes were so much better than the others we tasted. The texture was so amazing and guests loved them. We had Vanilla Raspberry, Lemon Curd and Toasted Almond and they were amazing.

Annemarie is amazing! Being a vegan/ local-vore having a delicious, organic and local cake was very important to me. She made it easy, knowing that she makes everything fresh that day is an added bonus. Plus, her cakes are to die for!

Annemarie was wonderful to work with! We had cupcakes (carrot cake, vegan/gluten free chocolate and almond raspberry) for our wedding and people are still talking about how delicious they were. It was important that we supported local vendors and suppliers and Bloom locally sources most if not all their ingredients. I'm craving a carrot cake cupcake right now as I write this review!! I would definitely recommend Bloom!

I can't speak to the cost because my mother-in-law made all the cake arrangements (bless her heart), but the cake was delicious and beautiful. Delivery was on time and they were easy to work with.

We loved working with Bloom Bake Shop for our wedding desserts! We are huge supporters of local and sustainable business, so working with Bloom Bake Shop was a natural fit for us. The rustic and delicious cupcakes, bars and cookies were delicious - our guests were ravenously devouring them! In fact, I had to go back to the bake shop the following week to buy some cupcakes for ourselves to enjoy...they were heartily enjoyed...every last crumb was scrumptious. We ordered cupcakes from Bloom to take to our New Year's Eve wedding in Door County. We picked them up on the morning of December 30 and served them in the evening of December 31. Bloom told us to keep the cupcakes in the boxes in which they came and to put the boxes in garbage bags to keep the air out. We followed these instructions and the cupcakes tasted as if they had been made that morning. They could not have been moister or more delicious. We allowed Bloom to pick an assortment of treats for the day and they were all wonderful - eggnog, cookie dough, double chocolate, smores, peppermint, etc. Yum! We also ordered a few gluten free cupcakes for my best friend who is gluten intolerant. She said they were amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend Bloom Bake Shop to anyone looking for cupcakes for any occasion.

Bloom & Annemarie (owner) are incredible!! Bloom came recommended to me by my sister who used Bloom for her wedding. We did our 3rd cake tasting here and were not disappointed; immediately we knew we were going to go with Bloom for our Wedding! The baked goods are incredible. Large variety to choose from, absolutely delicious, gluten free for no charge! Nothing to complain about.

You can make it more reasonably priced by not doing tiered cakes, which is what we did, and they were still presented beautifully. I would highly recommend Bloom! Annemarie was a pleasure to work with and was very detail oriented! Everyone loved the cake, we had 4 options for people to choose from. (1 being gluten free) and they were all phenomenal!

AnneMarie (the owner) was wonderful work with and very personable. We wanted to do a dessert table for our wedding. She offered a large variety of cupcakes, as well as delicious brownies and a small cake for our centerpiece. Although she ran on the higher end, her product was definitely worth it and she still worked with us on the price! If you want your guests to remember dessert check out Bloom Bake Shop!

Bloom Bake shop was GREAT to work with for our wedding! We used them for not only our wedding cake, but also for our rehearsal dinner desserts (whoopie pies and cupcakes!). The staff there is so great to work with and they make the BEST treats. My husband is allergic to milk, so having dairy free options was important to us. We both love their vegan menu items and are so glad that there's a bakery in town that can accommodate this request!

Amazing cupcakes. We did two different flavors, and our guests were blown away that they were both vegan and gluten free. The cake is so flavorful and the perfect texture, and the frosting is to die for. This is the best cupcake you will ever have, regardless of your dietary restrictions and a major crowd pleaser. SO so so delicious, and Annemarie is very sweet and easy to work with.

We really enjoyed working with Annemarie at Bloom. You can tell that she is passionate about her business. Unfortunately, we didn't get to eat any of our wedding cake besides our cake cutting. But that little bit was really good. And our guests raved over the 4 different cake flavors we had available.

We used Bloom for our wedding in August of 2013. We ordered four different kinds of cupcakes and were very happy with the results. Annemarie was great to work with, very professional. It takes her some time to respond to emails, but we always got responses and everything was delivered exactly as promised. We tried several other bakeries and nothing could even compare to the quality of the baked goods at Bloom. You can tell that their ingredients are fresh and that everything is made that day. It is a nice bonus that they buy locally and have many gluten and vegan options. My guests could not get enough of the cupcakes. Annemarie provides a cupcake stand and delivers the cupcakes and decorates with some of her own decorations based on the theme you are going for. We also provided a couple of our own decorations that she incorporated. I would definitely recommend bloom bake shop!

Bloom Bake Shop has delicious, beautiful cupcakes and cakes. AnnMarie was very helpful, nice, and easy to work with. I love that she uses mostly local and organic ingredients. She does get busy in summer, so towards the wedding she took a few days in getting back to me. She's open to whatever you want to do; even new flavors they don't have! Delicious.

Bloom Bake Shop did a great job with our cupcakes & wedding cake. I'm gluten free and the vegan/gf option was perfect for our wedding. No one noticed a difference and loved them. Our personal fav is the almond raspberry rose! Soooo good! Our only issue was they did deliver the cake & cupcakes an hour earlier then we had set up so resulted in a bit melting by the time we got there to cut the cake, but those things happen. We enjoy going to the shop now to grab goodies here and there!

Bloom makes really awesome cupcakes, and overall, I thought they were affordable. They have tons of options and the staff is very friendly.

They did take some time to get back to me via email (although they were very polite about it), and my order wasn't on file when I called in my payment, but in the end, everything worked out perfectly.

Bloom just provided desserts for our wedding this weekend. We were blown away by the setup and deliciousness of our treats! Our guests complimented us over and over on the taste and variety of our dessert bar. Annemarie at Bloom was so helpful - from providing us many items to taste and choose from as well as helping us solidify our order to make sure we had enough desserts for our guests and to stay within budget. This vendor is excellent. We loved their spirit for what they do and for involving the local community in their business. The cupcakes we chose (gluten and vegan: vanilla, chocolate, and raspberry almond) for our wedding were divine and we go so many compliments. Having them take care of the set up is well worth the money. They do an excellent job with presentation and have different theme options for displays. If you like businesses that involve the community and stay true to the heart of what they do best (and delicious food) than Bloom's is the place for you.

We had Bloom Bake Shop for our wedding and i must say the cupcakes were amazing. Ann Marie is such a sweetheart and was so flexible with the amount of times i had changed my mind on flavors or how many we needed. I was alittle disappointed that it took long amounts of time for my emails to be responded to but all in all it did work out.

We tried several cupcake places around Madison and Bloom was way WAY better than anywhere else. Every single flavor we tried was fabulous and the tasting experience was really fun. Our guests raved about the cupcakes and many reported wanting to visit Bloom for themselves. My only gripe was in the decoration. Knowing that they tend to do natural looking cupcakes, but having seen plenty of photos that had at least some decoration, I sent some pictures (from their own facebook page) of what I wanted to have done. I was sad on my wedding day to see that they had made all the cupcakes very plain, with no color, and they did not decorate our cutting cake with the flowers I provided. I didn't get a chance to see the dessert table until well into the reception, after pictures had been taken of the cake, and guests had already started helping themselves. Sad to not have a pretty wedding cake, but glad everything tasted so delicious.

We ordered a couple's cake from Bloom. The cake was beautiful and we were really happy with the look and taste. Our interaction when ordering was a little awkward - we worked with a younger cashier who made a lot of assumptions about our order (including what size and flavor we wanted), which is why I can't give a 5-star review in every category. But overall I would recommend Bloom for their elegant and yummy cakes!

Bloom bake shop was so yummy! I am dairy free and this seemed to be the only bakery in the area where I could get a dairy free wedding cake. It is so nice that they offer vegan and gluten free versions of their cakes! It made the cake process (including the tasting) so much less stressful. We did our cake tasting in a different season than our wedding was in so they didn't have all the flavors they would for our wedding. They said to come back closer to the wedding and they would send us home with the flavor we wanted to try, which was very nice. They also provided cake stands and did the setup. It looked so pretty! They only issue we had was regarding the final payment. The day was approaching (3 weeks prior to the wedding) but I hadn't heard back from them regarding what the final price would be. I was given a couple dates that this would be figured out by but they came and went. I didn't end up paying the final payment until about a week prior to the wedding, which is totally fine, but not what we had been told initially.
