Bfbb is amazing

We used Big Fun Brass Band for our wedding Second line and they were INCREDIBLE!!! My wife is from New Orleans and I am from Texas, I have never seen or experienced a second line and Big Fun gave the experience of a lifetime. We worked with Abby from start to finish and she was great to work with. She handled all the permits, police escorts, and route for our 200 person second line!! They even showed up early before the second line began and played music for the guests as everyone prepared for the parade. All of my Texas guests LOVED the second line and said it is something they wish Texas did. Even all of the New Orleans people said the band was the best they've heard! Big Fun Brass Band was 10/10! I would book them for everything!

I also want to say, your entire team was amazing and professional. You had a top notch wedding planner that made collaborating for your event a breeze beforehand and on site. I also love the Riverview Room and their staff there. You were so clear with communication, prompt to respond and friendly throughout the entire process which really makes my job feel less like a job.

Incredible Experience

Big Fun Brass Band did our wedding on Nov 4, 2023. They absolutely blew our expectations out of the water. If you are looking for a band to do your wedding, or any other event for that matter, stop right here and book BFBB. That's it, there's no need to keep reading reviews or looking at other bands - you've found your best option right here.

We went to our wedding ceremony, did the thing, then hopped on the bus to the reception venue. (Windsor Court Hotel in our case.) The band announced us and then went into our first dances. Then we went into the party, and it was incredible. They were LOUD and FUN and just everything we could possibly have wanted. They were incredible it reading the room and playing hit after hit after hit. They handled our on-the-fly requests with no issues whatsoever, and sight read a couple of oddball requests that we threw at them as if they had played them 100 times. I was absolutely cracking up when I asked them to play LSU fight song 'Neck,' and they (quite appropriately) told me 'yeah, we can do that but we have to hear this from your wife before we do.' When she ran up and said go for it, the room went absolutely electric. Everyone was out on the dance floor tearing it up, hands in the air, yelling along. They were fantastic.

Probably my favorite thing was how they weren't just standing up there playing. They were dancing along and clearly just having a blast with it. They brought in all kinds of cool lighting and loud speakers for announcements and when they took their (well deserved) break. They weren't just a wedding band, they were part of the party in all aspects. Everyone was expecting three or four people playing music in the corner of the room, and when they walked in to ten musicians with brass instruments, keyboards, and a drumset, everyone was floored. They filled the entire venue with fantastic music, handled announcements very well, and were just so pleasant and professional to interact with the entire time.

As we hit the end of the reception, everyone just wanted more. The band announced that it was time to go downstairs to the ground floor, and our coordinators and event staff helped usher everyone out. They played our last dance over the speakers for us as they quickly cleaned up and headed downstairs, and we met them down there to kick off the second line parade that they also hosted for us.

The second line was phenomenal. They handled everything from route planning, to permitting, dealing with NOPD, taking care of payments, coordinating with hotel staff. All we had to do was walk downstairs and lead the band to Lucy's. Standing in the middle of the intersection of Tchoup and Poydras with red and blue lights flashing all around us, listening to something like eight brass instruments play was magical.

When we arrived outside of Lucys, the band hung out for a bit and played in the street as we got everyone into the bar. All the people on the balcony were dancing and singing along as our wedding group made their way in. It was an incredible experience.

BFBB’s familiarity with local culture and understanding of how to handle everything and work with our reception venue, coordinator, NOPD, were invaluable and definitely noticeable. They exceeded our expectations in every possible way and most certainly proved their name over and over throughout the night.

I know my husband and I really loved working your wedding, but the whole band has been talking all week about how much fun they had with you, Andy and your guests. They could not believe how cool and kind y'all were all night long.

It was really touching to me that you asked to have the microphone at the end of the night to thank not just us, but all the wait staff and everyone that was involved working your wedding. That truly doesn't happen very often and I think it says so much about your character.

I can genuinely say Corey and I are looking forward to a new friendship with you and your new wife, Andy. We can't wait to hang out with y'all for the first time out in the real world:)

Memorial gig

Hired Big Fun Brass Band for a memorial at Metairie. I was 2000 miles away so I really needed a manager to handle all the details. Abby was great, always answered emails quickly, kept me informed, ensured the band was on time and knew what was expected of them. The band was great and the music was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I recommend them highly.

A standout moment of the day for everyone was undoubtedly the second line parade. Abby was instrumental in a seamless coordination of all the moving parts of our second line. She secured the permits and the chaperones. It added an extra layer of excitement and charm to the celebration, and our family and friends couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had. 10/10 best day ever

We hired Big Fun Brass Band for our second line and all l can say is WOW! ! As an out-of-towner, planning and coordinating all the details can be a nightmare, so having them handle all the permits and paperwork was a life saver. They were communicative and professional. Abby was a dream to work with. They really helped set our minds at ease with planning this part of our wedding. . Our guests had so much fun, they couldn’t stop talking about it all weekend and continue to say it was the BEST WEDDING EVER! The band was energetic and so much fun. They had all the on lookers joining in as well. 10/10 recommend this band, they exceeded expectations!

We hired Big Fun Brass Band for our second line and are so incredibly grateful that we did! They brought amazing energy and incredible musicianship. Our mostly-out-of-town guests had so much fun, they couldn’t stop talking about it all weekend. The booking process was smooth and BFBB handled the permitting process for us too, which was great. Exceeded expectations!

Great Nola Band!

The Big Fun Brass Band was awesome! They were able to accommodate our ceremony, second line parade and reception. The band director handled permitting and planning for the second line parade and made the entire experience easy. Our guests were very complimentary of the music and filled the dance floor. The band provided the perfect New Orleans sound track for the event. We highly recommend hiring the BFBB for any event!

The best wedding band!

BFBB is exceptional! They are incredible, fun, and talented musicians, and they worked with us to learn multiple songs outside of their usual roster. Abby was super responsive and helpful. Thanks for making our day perfect!

Big Fun Brass Band was my favorite part of my wedding day! I hired them to coordinate and play for our second line in the French Quarter, and it was incredible. We had a blast at our reception!!

One of our favorite parts of our wedding was Big Fun Brass Band! Everyone loved them!!! From our ceremony music to our secondline to our reception, they made our day. Not only were they extremely talented musicians, but they also did such a great job of choosing the perfect song to keep everyone on the dance floor. Once the dancing started, the dance floor was PACKED for our entire reception! They were so engaging and we all had so much fun at our reception!! Many of our guests told us that Big Fun Brass Band was their favorite part of our wedding from the secondline to the dance floor and we couldn't agree more! In addition to being amazing on our big day, they were so easy to work with and provided me with updates and great communication. We cannot thank them enough for making our wedding such a blast!!

Highlight of the NIght

I hired the Big Fun Brass Band for my engagement party and it was the highlight of the night. The communication with Abby was great and everything went smoothly. The band, and the additional entertainment --stilt walker and juggler-- showed up a few minutes before their scheduled appearance and when it was their time to perform, they didn't disappoint. I had them play 30 minutes before the parade, which helped guests get into a festive mood to dance down the streets of the French Quarter. The band's high energy and dynamic performance was sensational. Everyone loved the experience and it was a a dream come true to do a second line in New Orleans. Thank you for the unforgettable memories. I can't recommend this band enough.

Big Fun Brass Band Awesomeness!

These guys were amazing! We had so much fun during our second line - I think it was the highlight of the wedding. It was so easy to plan with them, too. They did all the hard work (routes and permits, etc. ) which was super helpful for a busy bride. Great experience. I highly recommend them for any occasion.

BIG FUN Killed it at my wedding

Big Fun played my entire reception and they rocked it! They were super easy to work with, and they let us know what was going on every step of the way. As a professional musician and high school band director, I can say that this group is the real deal. 10/10 would recommend.

Wedding band and second line parade

We hired these guys after seeing them play at Krewe.

Because we are from New Zealand we had to organise all via email and only met them 30 minutes before the ceremony in New Orleans.

They learned two cover songs for our first dance in addition to their traditional set list which was used for the second line parade and after we got back.

I couldn’t recommend more highly for their professionalism and ability.

Big Fun Brass was Fantastic!

Our wedding was destination, we found Big Fun Brass through reviews. After speaking with and emailing Corey and David we booked them for our ceremony and 2nd line. After doing some planning we decided to ask them to create our 2nd line route and submit the paperwork. David was so responsive and everything was organized perfectly. The ceremony and 2nd line were simply amazing and the band was flexible when things got a little off schedule. I would recommend them to everyone, especially out of towners because you can be at ease knowing they've planned everything and are punctual and professional. If we ever get to do another event in New Orleans we will definitely be booking with them!!

AMAZING!! Booked second line for corporate event this past week and it was the perfect way to start off the night and get guests excited! Big Fun Brass Band was so great to work with... detailed, prompt responses, on-time, professional, pricing. Would 100% highly recommend for any event, wedding, etc. Cannot say enough good things about them.

What an amazing evening

My husband and I had a LONG engagement, so we had 2 years of planning. We found Big Fun Brass about 6 months into our engagement and are SO glad we did! I worked with Corey to secure booking and had them set up all the permits and route details, as
I was planning the wedding from New York, and it was very difficult for me to juggle all the small details of planning from afar.
They are an extremely talented group (we had the 5 piece band play for our second line and 1/2 hour upon return to venue. There seemed to be a small amount of confusion after the second line as they were supposed to continue playing inside for our cocktail half hour, and being a nervous bride I has a small panic attack when i saw them walking away from the venue after the second line and had my photographer chase after them to make sure they came in.
I am not sure what transpired, but no matter, because they came in and played a spectacular set for us and our guests couldn't stop commenting on how amazing they were, going as far as to say they were one of the best brass bands they've ever heard, and my husband and I couldn't have agreed more! They were excellent and I highly recommend you book them for your wedding, or event.

Corey and his team did a phenomenal job! I always wanted a saxophone for my outdoor ceremony and that turned out perfect! We then had a second line and a cocktail hour with the band. Everything went soooo smoothly, I couldn't have asked for more from the wedding day! My only suggestion is to add a package where they can handle the second line accommodations. I had no idea what to do or where the second line should take place (it ended up being a little to long for some people).
